I'm going to be your host. I'm Chris Alamon. I am a regional investment director here at Madison. So with me today, have Mike Sanders, head of fixed income portfolio manager at Madison Investments. Welcome. speaker-1: think you're having me, I'm excited. I started in the business 2004, 2005. So I was beginning in the business, in the fixed income markets, through the financial crisis. It was a great learning experience, a little stressful, great way to start a career. speaker-0: I think what people need to understand is that we actually like fixed income, why we fell in love with fixed income. So this podcast is going to be the first Tuesday of every month. The goal of this is to make sure that we're bringing relevant content to advisors and clients, making sure that you understand all the nuances of the market. speaker-1: In the end, as investment professionals, fixed income equities, it's as much about managing your risk correctly as it is being great, good bonds or good stocks. If don't understand your risk, you're very likely going to make a mistake. so our first episode is going be talking about all of those fixed income risks, how to view them, how you kind of get paid to take them in certain different environments. speaker-0: We're gonna be talking about whether it's gonna be interest rate cuts, we're gonna talk about bonds and repricing and what all that means. And then hopefully the beards don't throw you guys off, but we're gonna be doing this, as I mentioned, the first Tuesday of every month. And hopefully you guys are gonna learn something.
