0:09
SPEAKER_01: Hi and welcome to this bonus episode of Assassin's Sips.
0:13
SPEAKER_01: Today we're gonna talk about season four of Lost with our special guest.
0:18
SPEAKER_01: Please welcome back, Jamar Duron.
0:20
SPEAKER_01: Woohoo!
0:22
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I never know if that's my cue to speak or if there's gonna be applause or do I like I should have written something down, but hey, glad to be back.
0:31
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, I didn't have the um the highlight reel.
0:34
SPEAKER_03: Reel the package?
0:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't have the package.
0:37
SPEAKER_01: Your agent, you know, slipping didn't send me one.
0:40
SPEAKER_03: Get that over.
0:40
SPEAKER_03: I'm fired.
0:43
SPEAKER_02: To be fair, when I tell Lisa I'm ready to come back from hiatus, I said we have to have Jamar on again at the end of each season.
0:52
SPEAKER_02: Or I'm not doing this.
0:53
SPEAKER_02: I am quitting for good.
0:55
SPEAKER_02: That was my non-negotiable of my contract.
0:57
SPEAKER_05: I really appreciate that.
0:58
SPEAKER_05: Is that what happened before?
0:59
SPEAKER_05: It would be like the end of the season, I would come on and talk.
1:02
SPEAKER_02: Something like that.
1:03
SPEAKER_02: Oh mid season or something like that.
1:04
SPEAKER_02: I don't remember it all.
1:05
SPEAKER_05: I remember that.
1:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was the end.
1:07
SPEAKER_06: Okay.
1:09
SPEAKER_01: And then I think that your oh, look, I'm I'm one sip in and I don't have words.
1:18
SPEAKER_06: Um nice, nice.
1:21
SPEAKER_01: The way that you've always said how season four is like your favorite season and the best season.
1:25
SPEAKER_01: I think that that might have been part of her motivation for even coming back.
1:28
SPEAKER_01: So maybe I should say thank you.
1:30
SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, hey, it is oh, all right, okay, oh yeah, to get you back.
1:34
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm caught up.
1:35
SPEAKER_03: I think what you say.
1:37
SPEAKER_02: I hated the show, I hated it.
1:40
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm doing this because I love Lisa, but I hate this back in show.
1:43
SPEAKER_02: This season, I'm like, okay.
1:45
SPEAKER_01: No, I'm gonna do it.
1:47
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna cover your secrets from the beginning of the season.
1:50
SPEAKER_01: She's like, I can't wait to talk to Jamar about this.
1:53
SPEAKER_05: Amen.
1:53
SPEAKER_05: Amen.
1:54
SPEAKER_05: Um, that's right.
1:55
SPEAKER_05: We started.
1:56
SPEAKER_05: I will say this though at the top of the podcast.
1:58
SPEAKER_05: Um, this is like uh outside of uh the fantasy breaking the fourth wall type of thing.
2:03
SPEAKER_05: So past.
2:04
SPEAKER_05: Wait, what did you say?
2:05
SPEAKER_05: Oh, no spoilers, no spoilers for me, because I don't know anything.
2:08
SPEAKER_01: No, but no spoilers for her because she hasn't gone past season four.
2:13
SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay, good.
2:13
SPEAKER_05: That is kind of hard because then I start kind of I get really blended between four and five.
2:18
SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, she forgets things.
2:19
SPEAKER_05: I'm not gonna remember, so it's fine.
2:21
SPEAKER_05: Well, that's what I was getting into that.
2:23
SPEAKER_05: I don't remember.
2:23
SPEAKER_05: Now we're talking like 15 years ago or 14 years ago, whatever it's been since season four.
2:28
SPEAKER_05: And you I haven't done this with you in two years, so I'm not like watching Lost every day.
2:32
SPEAKER_05: So usually it's like, hey Jamar, we want you in the podcast maybe next month.
2:37
SPEAKER_05: And I would watch all 26 episodes and then come on and be ready.
2:41
SPEAKER_05: I yeah, we just we talked last night at like midnight.
2:45
SPEAKER_05: I have not watched all 26 episodes.
2:47
SPEAKER_05: I did watch like a few, I like let a few episodes play this morning while I was practicing and having other meetings and stuff.
2:54
SPEAKER_05: So I don't remember like I used to.
2:56
SPEAKER_05: It was just like I know, I know some things, but I don't have the detail that I so just I'm sorry for everybody, I'm not the the lost, but it was fun.
3:03
SPEAKER_05: It was fun getting back into it today compared to what I thought back then.
3:07
SPEAKER_01: Faith in you.
3:08
SPEAKER_01: So season four opens and they're they're excited because the freighter has arrived, they think they're gonna be rescued, and there's the whole the freighter is good, the freighter is bad.
3:21
SPEAKER_01: Then we find the plane in the bottom of the ocean, and then there's the who put it there and why.
3:28
SPEAKER_01: Fast forward, we get more of Jacob's cabin.
3:34
SPEAKER_01: Ben and Locke have to move the island, and by the end of the season, um, and this is all like flash forwards.
3:41
SPEAKER_05: This is so good, because like I'm glad you're doing this.
3:44
SPEAKER_05: Because I was on board, on board, Ben and Locke have to move the island.
3:48
SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, that was a whole thing.
3:50
SPEAKER_03: Right.
3:51
SPEAKER_03: Gotta move the island.
3:52
SPEAKER_03: Right.
3:52
SPEAKER_01: So that's actually where the season ends is Ben turning the wheel and the island disappearing, the freighter blowing up, and everything is kind of left in limbo.
4:03
SPEAKER_01: Like, well, we see the oceanic six get rescued, and we kind of know how they came to be rescued.
4:09
SPEAKER_01: We see Desmond and Penny reunite.
4:12
SPEAKER_01: We don't know what happened to the island, we don't know what happened to anybody who's on the island, and as far as we know, everyone on the flavor, freighter is dead.
4:22
SPEAKER_01: Kaputs.
4:23
SPEAKER_01: Caputs off the island.
4:26
SPEAKER_01: We found Locke was the one in the coffin.
4:30
SPEAKER_03: Oh, we did that.
4:30
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm glad you said that.
4:31
SPEAKER_03: Good.
4:32
SPEAKER_01: Locke was revealed to be Jeremy Bentham in the coffin.
4:37
SPEAKER_01: Said is now working for Ben.
4:40
SPEAKER_01: Married to Nadia, but then Nadia's dead.
4:43
SPEAKER_01: What?
4:44
SPEAKER_05: I know.
4:50
SPEAKER_01: I mean, what's going on, Saeed?
4:54
SPEAKER_01: Kate, Kate and Jack were together, but then they're not together.
4:58
SPEAKER_05: Oh, because I just saw her have sex with Sawyer, so I'm very confused.
5:02
SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, they didn't get together until the flash forward when they got until the flash forward.
5:07
SPEAKER_05: Ah, flash forward.
5:08
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
5:08
SPEAKER_05: Flash forward.
5:08
SPEAKER_05: Yes.
5:09
SPEAKER_05: Very good.
5:09
SPEAKER_01: Hurley.
5:10
SPEAKER_05: Kate gets around.
5:12
SPEAKER_01: I know.
5:13
SPEAKER_01: Hurley's back in Santa Rosa.
5:17
SPEAKER_01: Walt is Walt?
5:19
SPEAKER_01: Walt, remember?
5:20
SPEAKER_01: Well, he came to visit Hurley, wanted to know why nobody visited him, but Jeremy Bentham visited him.
5:26
SPEAKER_05: Oh.
5:27
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
5:28
SPEAKER_01: I know.
5:29
SPEAKER_05: Was Walt wearing his giant shirt still, or did they let him be a man?
5:33
SPEAKER_01: They let him be a little bit of a man now.
5:34
SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay.
5:36
SPEAKER_02: Every time when I saw Walt, I had a flashback of your impersonation of we want the boy.
5:44
SPEAKER_01: Like I was just like this morning.
5:47
SPEAKER_02: I hadn't thought about that in years.
5:48
SPEAKER_01: Come on, for old time's sake.
5:50
SPEAKER_05: Oh, you talking about me?
5:52
SPEAKER_05: I do not remember how it sounds now, but whatever.
5:55
SPEAKER_05: I really don't remember.
5:55
SPEAKER_05: I don't even know what the line is anymore.
5:57
SPEAKER_02: But what did they say, Lisa?
5:59
SPEAKER_02: I want the boy or give me the boy.
6:01
SPEAKER_05: The boy.
6:06
SPEAKER_01: It's like we're here for the boy, or we want the boy, something like that.
6:10
SPEAKER_01: Something like that.
6:10
SPEAKER_05: It's a really good line, though.
6:11
SPEAKER_05: That's why I don't even want to mess it up.
6:13
SPEAKER_05: Because it's like my introduction to Lost is this creepy old man in a beard going like, We're gonna have to take the boy.
6:20
SPEAKER_03: What is this show?
6:25
SPEAKER_03: Don't give him the boy.
6:28
SPEAKER_02: It's code me too.
6:30
SPEAKER_02: Code me too.
6:31
SPEAKER_02: This is unacceptable.
6:34
SPEAKER_05: So that was my introduction, literally.
6:36
SPEAKER_02: Oh god, we're gonna get cancelled.
6:38
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna cancel me, Lisa.
6:39
SPEAKER_01: Tom, Tom friendly.
6:41
SPEAKER_01: We saw him in flashback, but he's dead.
6:44
SPEAKER_01: And he's current um was Juliet that killed him, I think.
6:48
SPEAKER_06: What?
6:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
6:51
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, after the whole siege with Oh, like what is that season three or the I think that was the end of season three.
6:58
SPEAKER_05: Oh, you should as fuck.
6:59
SPEAKER_05: I don't remember.
7:00
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
7:01
SPEAKER_01: But we see him in flashbacks at the hotel when he's trying to tell Michael, like, you're gonna be like the spy.
7:07
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, yeah, sure, sure, sure, sure.
7:09
SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, I mean that's I think that's kind of a quick old.
7:15
SPEAKER_05: Alright, in a nutshell, that was a lot in a in a nutshell.
7:19
SPEAKER_05: But they they do, hey, um, but they um I I I said it and then I heard it.
7:25
SPEAKER_05: Yep, yep, you said it and my heart dropped.
7:27
SPEAKER_05: Like, I don't know, should I stay on the show?
7:30
SPEAKER_05: Like she put that clip out somewhere.
7:34
SPEAKER_01: If there's okay, all right, if there's legit like anything that I say or you say or whatever that you feel like should be edited, just tell me and I and I'll take it out.
7:45
SPEAKER_01: That's really cool.
7:46
SPEAKER_05: Those are shoes at the top of that window, though.
7:48
SPEAKER_05: You shoes, right?
7:49
SPEAKER_02: They are my shoes, yeah.
7:50
SPEAKER_05: All right, cool.
7:51
SPEAKER_02: I tell her to leave it all in.
7:53
SPEAKER_02: Leave it all in, leave it all in.
7:55
SPEAKER_05: Leave it in to be real.
7:57
SPEAKER_05: That's what people want.
7:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but yeah, but also like if there's something that could come across offensive, you know.
8:04
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I get it.
8:05
SPEAKER_05: I canceled my whole podcast, stick it all down, burn it.
8:08
SPEAKER_05: People are like, do you mind what happened to the podcast?
8:10
SPEAKER_05: What podcast?
8:11
SPEAKER_02: It never happened.
8:12
SPEAKER_05: I don't know what exactly.
8:13
SPEAKER_02: How do we talk about this?
8:15
SPEAKER_02: That's a mandala effect.
8:17
SPEAKER_02: Like, hey, I like that.
8:20
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
8:21
SPEAKER_01: Yep.
8:23
SPEAKER_01: So you have gone on when I first sent you the message about hey, we're back, and you're like, oh, do you want to talk about the best season?
8:32
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
8:33
SPEAKER_01: So tell us.
8:34
SPEAKER_01: Tell us and tell everyone, all four and a half people who listen.
8:40
SPEAKER_05: Oh no, I'm gonna send it to my friends, so you don't get like 10 people.
8:43
SPEAKER_01: Oh, awesome.
8:45
SPEAKER_01: Yes, double digits.
8:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, tell everyone why this is the best season.
8:50
SPEAKER_05: So I did get to like kind of review it.
8:53
SPEAKER_05: I think that uh I do have different thoughts about it now, but I think Lost doesn't really get going fine his feet or whatever until the very end of, I guess, season three with the not Penny Boat and Naomi.
9:06
SPEAKER_05: I think that's when the show starts.
9:08
SPEAKER_05: Before that, it is just kind of a lot of like preamble.
9:11
SPEAKER_05: The writers didn't know it was gonna be that good, trying to figure out what it is.
9:14
SPEAKER_05: I think season four and going into season five too, is when they're like, okay, this is what this show is.
9:19
SPEAKER_05: And actually, if you like now, Google like Lost to see what it's about and to give a synopsis because it's over.
9:25
SPEAKER_05: It hints at these seasons.
9:26
SPEAKER_05: It's kind of hard to like, so I don't want to tell because it's not spoiled, but what it says the show is now is not what it starts at, isn't what it became because that's kind of a real thing.
9:35
SPEAKER_05: And those are my favorite genres, so don't do not, because it definitely like, oh yeah, this is all about blah, blah, blah, blah.
9:43
SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
9:43
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
9:44
SPEAKER_05: Um, so don't do that.
9:45
SPEAKER_05: Uh, but so it is uh, even though I'm not an action person, it's more fast-paced.
9:50
SPEAKER_05: Um, there's a little more fast-paced, or there's more fast-paced scenes and that kind of thing.
9:55
SPEAKER_05: But um, I think this is the first season where they at least pretend to answer questions.
10:02
SPEAKER_05: The first three seasons, they ask a million questions, there is no payoff, there is zero answers, and it's frustrating.
10:08
SPEAKER_05: If you're into that kind of thing, then all right, whatever.
10:10
SPEAKER_05: If you're not into it, it's just like this is stupid, and a lot of people will check out.
10:14
SPEAKER_05: Season four, they go like, okay, these are these people, these are these people, they hate each other.
10:19
SPEAKER_05: This is why, here's the answer, this is what's happening, this is why the island is weird.
10:24
SPEAKER_05: It starts to give you some answers, kind of.
10:27
SPEAKER_05: And that continues into season five, and then we won't talk about season six at all.
10:31
SPEAKER_05: But four and five is where you get some of the answers that you've been craving, and uh they they like propose new problems and actually solve those problems as opposed to just giving you the problems and walking away.
10:43
SPEAKER_05: Um, and so that that is I I know that's why I like it.
10:46
SPEAKER_05: I like the characters.
10:48
SPEAKER_05: I forgot, I know that this is good because it's like this crazy, amazing, talented ensemble cast, but now I'm like much older.
10:56
SPEAKER_05: What you know, it's almost 20 years from when Lost started.
10:58
SPEAKER_06: Right.
10:59
SPEAKER_05: I didn't realize really like they're all kind of young and beautiful.
11:02
SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's obvious, but you don't.
11:05
SPEAKER_05: I mean, when you're 20 and you're looking at hot 20 year olds, it's that's like every day, it's normal.
11:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right.
11:10
SPEAKER_05: When you're 40 and looking at hot 20 year olds, you're like, damn, who are these people?
11:15
SPEAKER_05: Like, this is unacceptable.
11:17
SPEAKER_05: I'm offended.
11:18
SPEAKER_05: So I like um Kate, who I used to think was hot back then, now whatever, she's whatever.
11:23
SPEAKER_05: But I didn't realize she's the size of a stick.
11:25
SPEAKER_05: She's like the smallest person I've ever seen watching it now.
11:27
SPEAKER_05: And and everybody is sun, and Naomi is like the most gorgeous woman ever, and all those skinny red hairs.
11:34
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, who are these people?
11:35
SPEAKER_05: Um, and so that kind of adds to it.
11:37
SPEAKER_05: And I realized too that it's more soap opera than I ever thought, which is kind of obvious, but I never thought that before.
11:44
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the love triangles and the what's happening next week, and the various stories happening every week and kind of flashing and cutting to different stories and never finishing a story.
11:53
SPEAKER_05: And I was and and even now, because watching TV today as opposed to watching it 15 years ago, it's much slower.
11:59
SPEAKER_05: And you got that Michael Giacchino, however you say his name, score and it's building and all the strings.
12:04
SPEAKER_05: It is super dramatic and soappery.
12:06
SPEAKER_05: They even like turn their heads in slow motion.
12:08
SPEAKER_05: It's like, Kate, Jack.
12:11
SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, I've never heard of this before.
12:14
SPEAKER_05: But some kind of way they blended all these genres, and I don't know.
12:17
SPEAKER_05: I still, I'm probably gonna finish the season.
12:20
SPEAKER_05: It's just, it's I feel different than I felt back then, and I still feel like it's way better than most things that come on TV.
12:25
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, this is a once-in-a-lifetime hit of a show, and this is the best of it.
12:30
SPEAKER_05: I think that's it.
12:30
SPEAKER_05: I just talked straight for 10 minutes.
12:32
SPEAKER_02: So that's cool.
12:33
SPEAKER_02: I don't think it was 10 minutes.
12:35
SPEAKER_02: I think you still got a couple minutes left on your on your timer.
12:39
SPEAKER_05: But yeah, even just watching a little bit, I watched of it, and I haven't really gotten to the guy that I like a lot, and I don't really even remember his whole art, but Kimi.
12:47
SPEAKER_05: Kimi was just like such a different type of character than what we've seen before.
12:52
SPEAKER_05: We've never seen anybody like that.
12:54
SPEAKER_05: He's like straight out of like an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.
12:56
SPEAKER_05: We've not seen this dude before in Lost.
12:59
SPEAKER_05: Just like on the island, just shooting people that's tall and big muscles.
13:02
SPEAKER_05: It's like, what is going on?
13:04
SPEAKER_05: So, like everything about this season was different.
13:06
SPEAKER_05: Um, we got to see different sides of Ben.
13:09
SPEAKER_05: Even watching the first couple episodes.
13:11
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if I didn't know this back then.
13:14
SPEAKER_05: They do this great job, which is really obvious, but I just don't remember thinking this, of kind of paralleling or mirroring things like every episode and throughout the season.
13:21
SPEAKER_05: The really obvious one is like in episode two, three, something like that, you got Saeed talking all this shit about Ben.
13:28
SPEAKER_05: I never worked for somebody like that.
13:30
SPEAKER_05: What an asshole! And cut to like who's Said working for?
13:35
SPEAKER_05: And I do that throughout the whole thing, like Kate's never going back to Sawyer, and then Kate's riding Sawyer.
13:41
SPEAKER_05: And it's just like all these things throughout, and it's and you might not even remember, like, oh yeah, last episode they said that would never happen.
13:47
SPEAKER_05: Which is, I think I mentioned on a previous episode, how the whole getting off the island thing that was the buzz.
13:52
SPEAKER_05: I think I told you.
13:53
SPEAKER_05: So I kind of knew Flash Forward and getting off the island.
13:56
SPEAKER_05: The fans and critics was like, they can never get off the island.
13:59
SPEAKER_05: That ends the show, they're never getting off the island.
14:01
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, they're taking them off the island.
14:03
SPEAKER_05: That like, and and so nobody knew what the flash forward was.
14:06
SPEAKER_05: I was like, they're off the island.
14:08
SPEAKER_05: That's you know, that's right in our faces, and and they are keeping the show going.
14:12
SPEAKER_05: But um, everything about the season was just great.
14:14
SPEAKER_05: It was uh it was not as mysterious as previous seasons, uh, and it was more kind of like grounded in like uh yeah, the previous season were just way more maybe fantastical, you know, like what are the polar bears doing here?
14:27
SPEAKER_05: Smoke monster, um, the other spooky mysterious.
14:31
SPEAKER_05: This is just like people in houses talking and stuff.
14:35
SPEAKER_02: I I still have post-traumatic um flicks and ticks of thinking about the first three seasons.
14:42
SPEAKER_02: Lisa, I must really love you.
14:45
SPEAKER_02: And also, I was drunk the entire three seasons of a recording.
14:50
SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, they sucked.
14:53
SPEAKER_02: Lisa, they really bad.
14:55
SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, back at the farm, she's like has her like crazy conspiracy pinboard with the red yarn.
15:01
SPEAKER_02: Like, but this is why they're so good.
15:03
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, no, it's not.
15:04
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I I'm not so so like I know I told you in the past how I got into it.
15:09
SPEAKER_05: It just so I heard all about it before it ever came out, and I was like, yeah, I'm gonna watch that show.
15:14
SPEAKER_05: But I was like busy in schoolworking and I did not watch it.
15:17
SPEAKER_05: I like watched some of the first episodes, I knew how it was like the biggest pilot ever.
15:21
SPEAKER_05: I don't know how many millions of dollars they shot it like a movie and beautiful plane crash, all this stuff.
15:26
SPEAKER_05: I was like, Yeah, yeah, but I knew it was gonna be a hit, I just didn't have time.
15:29
SPEAKER_05: So I was out that whole season, and then I came in for like the boy.
15:33
SPEAKER_05: That's when I checked in.
15:35
SPEAKER_05: So I went from that point forward and didn't see the first season until like after the third season, maybe.
15:41
SPEAKER_05: And for me, for whatever reason, it made everything better.
15:44
SPEAKER_05: Because I probably would not have liked the first season.
15:46
SPEAKER_05: A lot of my friends didn't.
15:47
SPEAKER_05: And they kept saying, So, Jamar, when does it get better?
15:50
SPEAKER_05: And I was just like, Well, it's lost, it's the greatest show.
15:52
SPEAKER_05: What do you what do you mean?
15:53
SPEAKER_05: When does it get better?
15:54
SPEAKER_05: Okay, well, I didn't start with the season one, so maybe I don't know.
15:57
SPEAKER_05: Because like I never cared about the smoke monster.
15:59
SPEAKER_05: And I was talking to my friends who like watched it, it was like that was the whole first season.
16:02
SPEAKER_05: I was like, that worked for me because I didn't, that was just weird and out of place.
16:07
SPEAKER_05: I bought the video game, the video game is just smoke monster, and I was like, this is stupid.
16:11
SPEAKER_05: I stopped playing a video game.
16:12
SPEAKER_05: So I don't know.
16:13
SPEAKER_05: I just I think I'm more into people and character development and their stories than like the mysteries of the island necessarily.
16:46
SPEAKER_01: I think that the people who stuck around from the first season, we stuck around because we're already like, oh, well, what's this and what's that?
16:58
SPEAKER_01: And when are we gonna get answers?
17:01
SPEAKER_01: And you know, we're like stupid fucking lemmings who just kept going on for the ride, not realizing that we're not going to get answers, at least not for a while.
17:13
SPEAKER_01: But by then it's like well for some things, yeah.
17:17
SPEAKER_01: But by then it's like, alright, well, maybe the next episode, but maybe the next episode, but yes, yes.
17:23
SPEAKER_01: Amen.
17:23
SPEAKER_05: That's how they get you.
17:25
SPEAKER_05: At the end of each episode, you're gonna like, but but for sure the next episode.
17:30
SPEAKER_05: The next one we know.
17:32
SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
17:34
SPEAKER_01: You know, like you said, it didn't help that the uh you know, the people were good to look at.
17:40
SPEAKER_01: So that's definitely a plus.
17:43
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I'm I'm sure you will agree, you know, Sawyer without his shirt.
17:48
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I I was a Sawyer guy.
17:50
SPEAKER_05: I mean, I'm straight, but like it's it was definitely a Sawyer Jack thing.
17:53
SPEAKER_05: Sawyer Jack, Sawyer Jack, and I was just like, how is this a competition?
17:56
SPEAKER_01: Like, whoa, who's thinking Jack?
17:59
SPEAKER_01: But it's not a competition, not in the least.
18:02
SPEAKER_01: Like and Jack's head, I think the I think he's it I mean he's a surgeon, maybe he's good with his hands.
18:09
SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
18:10
SPEAKER_01: Hey, that's the best answer I got.
18:14
SPEAKER_02: I said, you know what, but Sawyer's a smooth talker, so he is good with his tongue.
18:20
SPEAKER_02: Well the call.
18:21
SPEAKER_01: I didn't even think I needed to um defend any part of Sawyer, but okay.
18:29
SPEAKER_01: Anyhow, I agree with you though, because this season we do get a lot of answers.
18:37
SPEAKER_01: Of course, they still give us more questions, but I like that we get a lot of answers.
18:43
SPEAKER_02: But the questions that you that you are given aren't so frustrating.
18:49
SPEAKER_02: Like they're not so ending, I think.
18:51
SPEAKER_02: It was stupid questions.
18:53
SPEAKER_02: Like, what the act?
18:54
SPEAKER_02: If I push the button, what I don't fucking care if I push the smoke my i there's a lot of questions for the first couple seasons.
19:01
SPEAKER_02: She's like, you just don't want the answer to, and because this the questions are stupid.
19:05
SPEAKER_02: The questions you get now, they're like, ooh, yeah, that's interesting.
19:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I agree.
19:11
SPEAKER_05: I think it is that the questions in season four are like people questions, yeah.
19:17
SPEAKER_05: Because you that was a good one, like pushing the button.
19:19
SPEAKER_05: That was so huge.
19:20
SPEAKER_05: And it was just like, what happens?
19:22
SPEAKER_05: Do you push it?
19:22
SPEAKER_05: Do you not push it?
19:23
SPEAKER_05: We're putting the numbers in, that and it's just like it's so disconnected from the people.
19:27
SPEAKER_05: The people's still there, they're still doing whatever they do.
19:30
SPEAKER_05: And in this season, it's more like their relationships.
19:32
SPEAKER_05: Like, why do these people want Ben?
19:34
SPEAKER_05: What did Ben do?
19:35
SPEAKER_05: Who is Ben?
19:36
SPEAKER_05: Who is this person?
19:37
SPEAKER_05: Why do they know Penelope?
19:39
SPEAKER_05: You know, who is on the boat?
19:40
SPEAKER_05: And I think just it being more about the people, and the people are there, so you're gonna get like some answers or whatever.
19:45
SPEAKER_05: I think that's what the difference is.
19:47
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if there was a different writer that came in or if they had a meeting, they were like, hey guys, uh, so our biggest asset is these awesome people, and we keep talking about the trees and the sand, and like what if we just talked about the people that might work?
20:00
SPEAKER_02: So I think they changed drugs.
20:02
SPEAKER_02: I really think there were some really good shrooms the first couple of seasons, sure.
20:06
SPEAKER_02: And I think they wish they should switch over to like a hybrid weed or something, an indicat or something.
20:10
SPEAKER_02: I think I think that's what happened from the shrooms to the indicat.
20:14
SPEAKER_05: That's a good somebody should write that on a blog post.
20:17
SPEAKER_05: Somebody did at some point.
20:21
SPEAKER_05: No, no, it was this.
20:25
SPEAKER_02: I'm going to go find I'm I'm pretty sure there's something online about that.
20:28
SPEAKER_02: It has to be a hundred percent.
20:33
SPEAKER_01: The the character development though, I and I think that that started even in the first season.
20:40
SPEAKER_01: But I think also one of the things that helped season four is that there weren't as many episodes.
20:45
SPEAKER_01: So it had to be the storyline had to be more poignant.
20:51
SPEAKER_01: They didn't have time for episodes like there were no filler episodes.
20:55
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like what the one with Nikki and Paolo and the other.
20:58
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I know that's where you go on, uh, the the spider episode or whatever it's called, yeah, yeah.
21:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and and then the other one with Jack and the tattoo.
21:06
SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
21:07
SPEAKER_02: Oh god, that was a waste of an hour of time.
21:11
SPEAKER_01: It it you get like an inch of story content, but after walking the mile through the episode, and it's like that wasn't really worth it.
21:22
SPEAKER_01: It's entertaining, but it's I get what you're saying.
21:25
SPEAKER_05: In those episodes, they they they moved the story like a millimeter.
21:29
SPEAKER_01: Right.
21:30
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right.
21:31
SPEAKER_02: The whole episode could have been an email.
21:33
SPEAKER_02: Like what you just completely wasted my stuff.
21:35
SPEAKER_01: I forgot a uh an email, it could have been a text message.
21:38
SPEAKER_01: A text message, a tweet.
21:43
SPEAKER_05: Actually, yeah.
21:45
SPEAKER_05: No, I was gonna say, is it an X?
21:46
SPEAKER_05: Do we still say tweet?
21:48
SPEAKER_05: I still say tweet.
21:49
SPEAKER_02: I still say tweet.
21:50
SPEAKER_02: I think most normal people say tweet.
21:52
SPEAKER_02: What else are we going to say?
21:53
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna send you an X.
21:55
SPEAKER_05: A musk.
21:56
SPEAKER_02: I'll send you an X.
21:57
SPEAKER_01: Which one do you want?
21:59
SPEAKER_02: Oh, high oh.
22:02
SPEAKER_02: Um, I'll take any of your X's because you know mine suck.
22:05
SPEAKER_02: Maybe yours are better than mine.
22:06
SPEAKER_05: Hey, that's what you know, it just wasn't meant to be.
22:08
SPEAKER_05: It's uh, you know, oil and water.
22:10
SPEAKER_05: Mix it up.
22:12
SPEAKER_01: Actually, I don't have that many, but you can have them.
22:14
SPEAKER_05: I have many.
22:16
SPEAKER_05: I have very many.
22:18
SPEAKER_02: I feel I think she'll actually give you her currents.
22:20
SPEAKER_02: I don't think you're like you'll take them.
22:22
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to.
22:24
unknown: Okay.
22:26
SPEAKER_01: Oh, sorry.
22:26
SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
22:27
SPEAKER_01: You go.
22:27
SPEAKER_01: You go.
22:29
SPEAKER_02: Okay, because you forget.
22:30
SPEAKER_02: It's about time you open your mouth.
22:32
SPEAKER_02: Um, my favorite episode, I don't know if you can remember it, was The Constant.
22:40
SPEAKER_05: That's like that's like the number one episode in history of television.
22:43
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
22:43
SPEAKER_02: So I just thought it was me, but like it's the best episode ever, the whole fucking series.
22:47
SPEAKER_05: No, it's ranked like everywhere as the number one episode in history of television.
22:51
SPEAKER_02: I'm glad they have my good taste.
22:53
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
22:54
SPEAKER_02: Thank you, everybody.
22:54
SPEAKER_02: I'm glad it's you know, this can prove my point.
22:57
SPEAKER_02: I want to know your take on it, but I can't.
22:59
SPEAKER_02: I just got I just got your take.
23:01
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
23:02
SPEAKER_05: I haven't gotten to it again.
23:03
SPEAKER_05: I've seen it many times.
23:04
SPEAKER_05: And uh luckily, I shouldn't say luckily, but it is not surprising.
23:08
SPEAKER_05: Now I know it's old news.
23:09
SPEAKER_05: But you know, I'm into this.
23:10
SPEAKER_05: Uh, I used to do it on my podcast and stuff.
23:12
SPEAKER_05: It is always one of the top episodes in the history of television.
23:16
SPEAKER_05: Often people have it as number one.
23:18
SPEAKER_05: And when I was saying earlier, there's certain things that I like, like genres and stuff.
23:22
SPEAKER_05: And without giving away the season, this is one of those genres I like.
23:26
SPEAKER_05: So this is very much what I like in television.
23:28
SPEAKER_05: And we're getting into that right now.
23:30
SPEAKER_05: I think I'm in season, I mean episode four or something, and just getting into the Desmond stuff and whatever they're playing with time and you know, the nerd figuring out the time stuff, and uh what's what's his name?
23:41
SPEAKER_02: Daniel Faraday.
23:43
SPEAKER_05: Okay, yeah, Daniel Faraday, Faraday.
23:45
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, there we go.
23:45
SPEAKER_05: Um, that is very much my genre of everything, books, whatever.
23:50
SPEAKER_05: When you start talking about time like time, time travel?
23:52
SPEAKER_05: Time travel, any kind of time displacement, parallel universes, all physics type stuff.
23:58
SPEAKER_05: That when I don't care what it is, I will always like that.
24:01
SPEAKER_02: Totally my kink this season.
24:02
SPEAKER_02: I was like, yes, and I had a whole theory about how the polar bear ended up in the desert.
24:08
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's in this season, yeah, yeah.
24:10
SPEAKER_02: And it's just I was like, oh, because like this parallel universes.
24:13
SPEAKER_02: I said, but then somehow when they move the island, they changed the axis like in another universe.
24:19
SPEAKER_04: Sure, that's me.
24:20
SPEAKER_02: Earth, the axis has been turned, and the rotation is different than our current.
24:26
SPEAKER_02: Like I had a whole little dance and everything.
24:28
SPEAKER_02: So that's why you should have been there.
24:30
SPEAKER_05: You should have had a blog back in the day in 2007.
24:33
SPEAKER_05: You should have been there.
24:35
SPEAKER_02: I know, guys.
24:37
SPEAKER_02: This is what's going on, right?
24:38
SPEAKER_02: So now we have to learn how to do video on YouTube or something so they can see my oh her constantly doing this.
24:45
SPEAKER_00: She looks like she's at a rave.
24:48
SPEAKER_00: It makes sense in my head.
24:49
SPEAKER_02: It does.
24:50
SPEAKER_02: Like the parallel universe, the earth is slightly different.
24:53
SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, this is his axis, but then in the next in another universe, this is x-axis and it just rotates this way.
25:00
SPEAKER_01: So we're like hopping not only time travel, but hopping universes.
25:03
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
25:04
SPEAKER_01: Did you ever see the one with Jet?
25:06
SPEAKER_01: You see, you say.
25:07
SPEAKER_02: I did never see that.
25:08
SPEAKER_04: I never saw it.
25:09
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was talking to Joe Bond this time.
25:11
SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
25:13
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
25:14
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, yeah.
25:15
SPEAKER_02: Like if you like the whole different universal thing and action, it's a it's something you should check out.
25:22
SPEAKER_05: Let me um, this is uh, I will not put it on my list now that I know it's just not like Jet Lee action.
25:28
SPEAKER_05: Um I this I don't know, it's kind of related.
25:31
SPEAKER_05: Actually, with Lost, it's kind of very related.
25:33
SPEAKER_05: But anyway, just kind of how universes are different.
25:36
SPEAKER_05: This is a real different universe is parallel, but like real world, this happened to me and blew my mind.
25:41
SPEAKER_05: I like little things like this that blew my mind.
25:43
SPEAKER_05: So I have a ton of friends in Australia, like like literally almost 200 Australian friends, people I've worked with, whatever.
25:49
SPEAKER_05: And so, as we always do, you meet them and you say something stupid like uh good eye, mate.
25:54
SPEAKER_05: You know, some stupid thing you say, right?
25:57
SPEAKER_05: So uh I meet one of them and I go like land down under, something like that.
26:02
SPEAKER_05: And he's like, What?
26:03
SPEAKER_05: I was like, land down under Australia, you know.
26:05
SPEAKER_05: He's like, what are you talking about?
26:06
SPEAKER_05: I was like, yeah, you land down under, don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about.
26:10
SPEAKER_05: And he's just like, what?
26:11
SPEAKER_05: I was like, yeah, because we're at the top and you're at the bottom, he's like a globe, and so we call you the land down.
26:16
SPEAKER_05: You don't know what I'm talking about.
26:17
SPEAKER_05: He goes, on our globes, you're at the bottom.
26:19
SPEAKER_05: And I was just like, wait, what?
26:23
SPEAKER_05: And it never occurred to me that that's like a thing.
26:25
SPEAKER_05: I was like, no, we're we're dude, you're we're the land of it.
26:30
SPEAKER_05: I was so confused.
26:31
SPEAKER_05: And I went around like that for weeks, and I talked to some other people, he's like, he's fucking with you, dude.
26:35
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, we're I love it, but I could totally see you like, well, yeah, yeah.
26:43
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was like, oh, because it's a globe and we're in space and it doesn't matter, and this victim that we're on top, and oh boy, and then I was like, Yeah, you're an idiot.
26:52
SPEAKER_05: But it's the same sort of thing, like how you say, like in a different world, maybe they are on the north axis or whatever, and we're on the south, and that's exactly how the polar bear would be someplace else.
27:02
SPEAKER_05: But it's it makes sense.
27:04
SPEAKER_05: I totally understand.
27:05
SPEAKER_02: Lisa thought I was like buggy the fuck out.
27:09
SPEAKER_01: I have to I have to keep cool because we talked about things that she has said in the past, and then at the end of season one, when we were recording for Exodus, she said a comment about how the island moves.
27:28
SPEAKER_01: She did okay, and then she said, and if I'm right, I'm gonna smack myself.
27:32
SPEAKER_01: So I had to call her on her on her comment, and she did.
27:36
SPEAKER_02: I smacked myself, not how she expected though.
27:40
SPEAKER_02: Oh, high calling us.
27:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't remember stuff, but I know it's always hard when somebody has you just throwing crazy ideas out there, and we know what happens, and it's like, oh, I mean, if you think something that stupid would happen, I guess.
27:55
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
27:57
SPEAKER_02: She had me all messed up on the when his daughter was shot.
28:05
SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
28:06
SPEAKER_02: Oh my right.
28:08
SPEAKER_02: He she goes, Do you think he I said he would totally like sacrifice his daughter?
28:12
SPEAKER_02: And the look she gave me was just so like horror.
28:16
SPEAKER_02: She's like, What kind of person are you?
28:18
SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, Well, the fuck has this been?
28:21
SPEAKER_01: And then the next episode.
28:23
SPEAKER_02: I was like, you bitch.
28:25
SPEAKER_02: She made me feel like a horrible person.
28:28
SPEAKER_02: That's hilarious.
28:29
SPEAKER_02: I love it.
28:30
SPEAKER_02: I love it.
28:30
SPEAKER_01: You complimented my acting skills though.
28:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was amazing.
28:34
SPEAKER_01: I was proud of myself too.
28:35
SPEAKER_01: I was like, yes, I didn't give it away.
28:38
SPEAKER_05: I used to give stuff away a lot with loss.
28:40
SPEAKER_05: And and and especially during that time period because TD was just in a like a big boom, boom, or whatever.
28:46
SPEAKER_05: And um I used to always try to like purposely throw people off, and no matter what I did, you can just see the excitement inside of me about certain things.
28:54
SPEAKER_05: Like, what what did we learn anything about Ben?
28:57
SPEAKER_05: Oh no, Ben wasn't in the episode at all.
29:00
SPEAKER_05: Uh what we learned, it was like, I just, you know, no matter what.
29:04
SPEAKER_05: And I try to talk about other things, but you can still tell.
29:06
SPEAKER_05: But uh, yeah, no, it's good times.
29:08
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if TV's that way anymore.
29:10
SPEAKER_05: Oh, in part because we watch online, we watch when we want to watch, and you know, we're not on the same schedule.
29:15
SPEAKER_05: And right, yeah, it's different.
29:17
SPEAKER_05: It's different.
29:18
SPEAKER_01: There are some shows now that are really well written and really captivating, but I feel like more so now it's just more about quantity than quality.
29:33
SPEAKER_01: But I but I feel like even after I said that, it's it's kind of rolling back around to quality because there's so many streaming outlets and YouTube and so many outlets to put your content out there that for a while it just felt like okay, well, anybody with an idea and a camera can get their their project before viewers.
30:00
SPEAKER_01: But now since a lot of people stream and the networks are not like fighting for the ratings the same way that they used to be, it was like, oh, who had the prime time slot, you know?
30:14
SPEAKER_01: And so then and so then that kind of helped facilitate everybody going to streaming and putting their their stuff out.
30:22
SPEAKER_01: But even now, because there's so much stuff out, I feel like we're coming back around to quality because how else do you filter through what you want to watch when you only have but so much time to devote to watching?
30:36
SPEAKER_01: So it's like, okay, well, you know what?
30:37
SPEAKER_01: No, I don't want to watch it anymore because it's stupid, or it's not as good as you know, this.
30:44
SPEAKER_01: So I feel like we're coming back to really good programming.
30:50
SPEAKER_04: You don't think this disagrees?
30:52
SPEAKER_02: I find myself like there's tons of like the new shows that I like that I've liked over the past few years.
30:59
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh, this is a great show.
31:00
SPEAKER_02: And then they cut they end it after one season.
31:02
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I ain't fucking kidding me.
31:05
SPEAKER_04: Yes, that happens a lot.
31:06
SPEAKER_02: And I find myself going back and re-watching old shows because they they they because you can watch five seasons.
31:13
SPEAKER_05: Right.
31:13
SPEAKER_02: I can watch it all in one shot, they're still relevant, they're meaty.
31:17
SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm re-watching Salem, and it's not about the Salem's cat, it's it's a darker version of the Salem Wish Childs, it's darker, and it's and it's really good.
31:27
SPEAKER_01: Then there's I don't disagree with you, but I think you're proving my point.
31:31
SPEAKER_02: I know what you're saying.
31:32
SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
31:33
SPEAKER_01: It's like the the content is good, it's something whatever that show was, it was good.
31:38
SPEAKER_01: You wanted to watch it, but it wasn't getting a fair chance because something else was comes crappier.
31:43
SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't need to see 600 seasons of The Bachelor.
31:46
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to keep why why why why?
31:49
SPEAKER_02: We don't need Survivor, why but somebody does apparently.
31:53
SPEAKER_01: So apparently somebody's watching it.
31:55
SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, there's a lot of older shows that I just rather go back and watch than what's being kept, what's coming back over and over and over again, season after season.
32:05
SPEAKER_01: So speaking of older shows, I've been re-watching the Mary Tyler Moore show.
32:09
SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, old.
32:10
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
32:12
SPEAKER_01: There was a little like uh guest star, you know, just just like a nobody who played a role.
32:21
SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm in the third season, I've only seen him once, but when they did the credits, I recognized his name, and it was Jack Bender, who is he's like one of the directors on Love.
32:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:34
SPEAKER_01: There you go.
32:35
SPEAKER_05: I know that's familiar.
32:35
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
32:36
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was like, is that the executives or something?
32:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sure.
32:40
SPEAKER_01: Um and sure enough it was.
32:42
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was like, oh, oh, that's what he looks like.
32:45
SPEAKER_01: Okay, cool.
32:45
SPEAKER_04: Like that's so interesting.
32:47
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the fact it's kind of random that the fact that you're watching Mary Tyler Mall all shows.
32:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, it's just a gimme, right?
32:54
SPEAKER_01: It's like it's on Hulu, it's half hour show, it's easy here and there, but yeah, and and and when I saw the name, I'm like, hmm, I wonder if it's the same guy.
33:04
SPEAKER_01: And it was.
33:05
SPEAKER_01: I thought of the robot and feature.
33:11
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
33:11
SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, but I wonder.
33:14
SPEAKER_05: Like yeah, that's kind of where my name, my brain went, and that's where it went every time I saw the name in the credits, too.
33:20
SPEAKER_01: Every single time.
33:21
SPEAKER_01: Maybe that's why it's stuck.
33:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, go easy on that.
33:30
SPEAKER_05: Or not.
33:31
SPEAKER_02: Or not.
33:32
SPEAKER_02: Or not.
33:33
SPEAKER_02: Finance is about to come out.
33:35
SPEAKER_05: It is not a lost question.
33:37
SPEAKER_05: Sorry that I just took that.
33:38
SPEAKER_05: But what is the the top show today?
33:41
SPEAKER_05: Um, because both of you kind of said there was oh well, well, really, Lisa said there was stuff.
33:45
SPEAKER_05: There's no good show now.
33:46
SPEAKER_05: I mean, whatever you think.
33:47
SPEAKER_01: Um I don't know.
33:48
SPEAKER_01: Oh so one of the shows that I've really been like enjoying watching is Only Murders in the Building on Twitter.
33:57
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I know I never watched it, but my Hulu or whoever keeps begging me to watch it.
34:02
SPEAKER_01: Hulu, yeah.
34:04
SPEAKER_01: It's it's really cute.
34:05
SPEAKER_01: Like it's cheeky, but it's also well written and it's entertaining.
34:10
SPEAKER_01: And it's so funny because it's like Us.
34:12
SPEAKER_01: It's it's almost like a parody of the serial podcast.
34:16
SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
34:17
SPEAKER_01: The the music and Tina Faye is in it, and she's like a Sarah K.
34:22
SPEAKER_01: She's like a Sarah Koenig-esque podcast.
34:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:27
SPEAKER_03: Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
34:28
SPEAKER_01: And so it's like it starts where they're all listening, like obsessed with the the podcast, and they want to hear it, and then whatever.
34:37
SPEAKER_01: There's a murder happens in the building, and then they become podcasters themselves and whatever.
34:42
SPEAKER_01: But it's it's really well written and it's not the same kind of genre as Lost.
34:48
SPEAKER_01: Like, it's not really science fiction, it's not you know, but it's it's really I don't know, like I really enjoy it.
34:58
SPEAKER_01: Um I'm trying to think what else.
35:03
SPEAKER_01: There's another show coming out on Hulu that I keep seeing the the promos for.
35:09
SPEAKER_01: It's like death in in the detail or something like that.
35:14
SPEAKER_05: Um, I I think I see the promos.
35:16
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
35:17
SPEAKER_05: The death is in the title, I think.
35:19
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
35:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
35:20
SPEAKER_01: And it looks, I mean, it looks interesting.
35:22
SPEAKER_01: So I'll give that a shot.
35:24
SPEAKER_05: No good TV.
35:25
SPEAKER_04: Alright, keep going.
35:27
SPEAKER_01: I am yeah, I think it's a lot of things.
35:29
SPEAKER_01: There was the other one on Hulu with Steve Carell, and he was a psychiatrist.
35:36
SPEAKER_01: It was only one season.
35:37
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if they're gonna put out another one.
35:39
SPEAKER_05: Um, I think I started watching it and didn't get into it.
35:43
SPEAKER_01: I like that one.
35:44
SPEAKER_01: It was a little slow, but I liked it.
35:46
SPEAKER_01: Um and then Netflix has like some British shows available.
35:53
SPEAKER_01: And I can't think of the names of any, but there were a few that were interesting.
35:59
SPEAKER_01: Did you uh watch or hear of Dark on Netflix?
36:04
SPEAKER_05: Um, I think I watched it.
36:06
SPEAKER_05: What was dark?
36:07
SPEAKER_01: It was very lost-ish.
36:10
SPEAKER_01: It was like with the little boy and he goes missing.
36:13
SPEAKER_01: It's it's I think it's German.
36:15
SPEAKER_05: See, I was gonna say it's not American.
36:16
SPEAKER_05: I don't think I watched it, or I either started watching it and didn't finish it.
36:19
SPEAKER_05: One or the other okay.
36:21
SPEAKER_01: When I tell you when if Agnes thinks that I have red strings for this show, legit, I had to take pictures of the screen to help me follow along.
36:33
SPEAKER_01: So this, I don't know if you guys want spoilers, but I'll do not spoil it.
36:38
SPEAKER_01: No?
36:38
SPEAKER_02: Don't this so shut up, don't talk about it.
36:40
SPEAKER_05: Okay, yeah, don't don't talk about it.
36:42
SPEAKER_01: But it's it's very involved.
36:44
SPEAKER_05: Because it's a it's a show that's been recommended to me a lot.
36:47
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I just didn't get into it because.
36:49
SPEAKER_01: And I think it's something like three seasons.
36:51
SPEAKER_01: So you can watch it dubbed or you can watch it with subtitles.
36:54
SPEAKER_01: I try to I I watch it both ways to be honest.
36:56
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if I started or not.
36:57
SPEAKER_02: I prefer subtitles than dubs because dubs distracts me.
37:01
SPEAKER_02: I prefer just I prefer subtitles if I'm going to like watch a sub uh a foreign film or movie.
37:08
SPEAKER_01: If you watch it, the first season was like, what the fuck?
37:12
SPEAKER_01: Give me the next one.
37:14
SPEAKER_01: The second season was a little bit weird, and then the third season ties everything together.
37:20
SPEAKER_01: But it's it's a good show.
37:22
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I watched it twice.
37:26
SPEAKER_02: So I think we know what show you're gonna pick when it's drugstore in again.
37:30
SPEAKER_01: No, okay, no, okay, girl, you can't follow loss.
37:34
SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not gonna do that to you.
37:36
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
37:37
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
37:38
SPEAKER_01: I can have hardly follow that show.
37:40
SPEAKER_01: I literally had tell you how to take pictures.
37:42
SPEAKER_01: In the in the beginning of the show, they show pictures of the characters literally with string.
37:50
SPEAKER_01: Like it's like there is a version of a board.
37:55
SPEAKER_01: I had to like take pictures so that I can in my head.
37:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, no, don't do that to me.
38:02
SPEAKER_02: I don't have the I don't have the mental faculties to yeah, yeah.
38:05
SPEAKER_01: But if you watch it to enjoy it, you might enjoy it, but if you watch it to discuss it, it might be hard.
38:11
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
38:11
SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
38:12
SPEAKER_05: I um I was not bringing this up, and we can get back to Lost, but I was not bringing this up for this purpose.
38:17
SPEAKER_05: But if you ever finish Lost and you want to do another show, which I hope continues, because I think it's another greatest show of all time.
38:24
SPEAKER_05: Nobody, well, everybody I know that watch it loves it, but nobody's talking about it but me.
38:28
SPEAKER_05: And I think it's a great, like, it'll be a great podcast discussion.
38:31
SPEAKER_05: Did either of you watch Severance?
38:34
SPEAKER_01: No, but I was told I should.
38:36
SPEAKER_05: It is the same.
38:38
SPEAKER_05: It is, it is like you nothing you've ever seen.
38:41
SPEAKER_05: It's gotta be like the next kind of lost.
38:43
SPEAKER_05: Not that it's like lost, but like how lost that people are like, what the it is that's a show.
38:48
SPEAKER_05: That is a show.
38:49
SPEAKER_05: That's a real show.
38:50
SPEAKER_05: That's a good show.
38:51
SPEAKER_01: That's the one that Brittany keeps saying that we should.
38:54
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's why this could be you and Brit show.
38:57
SPEAKER_02: We it could be all three of us show.
38:59
SPEAKER_02: Oh, all three of us show.
39:00
SPEAKER_02: I just know I have two shows.
39:02
SPEAKER_02: After we finish Lost, it's my turn to pick a show.
39:05
SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
39:06
SPEAKER_02: And I have two shows that I want to watch, or Lisa to watch, and I think we're going to pull out a poll.
39:13
SPEAKER_05: Oh, and are they secret now or I have to wait for the poll?
39:17
SPEAKER_01: No, can do I have to wait for a poll?
39:19
SPEAKER_01: No, because we've discussed it.
39:20
SPEAKER_01: Um refresh my A-Team and Alce.
39:25
SPEAKER_02: Damn it, you guessed them.
39:27
SPEAKER_02: So I was trying to think of a show that has that had like a cult following, like Lost.
39:34
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I remembered now.
39:36
SPEAKER_02: I don't I didn't want 600 seasons either.
39:40
SPEAKER_04: Oh, I don't know what this is gonna be.
39:42
SPEAKER_02: So my first choice was the following.
39:45
SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's with the dude, the white dude, right?
39:47
SPEAKER_05: Uh with the white dude.
39:49
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's got the head, like this.
39:51
SPEAKER_02: Um Kevin Bacon.
39:52
SPEAKER_05: Yes, it is Kevin Bacon.
39:54
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, people like that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:56
SPEAKER_02: And then there's another show, it has a lot of seasons, but it still had.
40:01
SPEAKER_02: I was thinking about Revenge.
40:03
SPEAKER_05: With I don't even know what that is.
40:05
SPEAKER_05: I've seen the title, I have no idea what it was.
40:06
SPEAKER_02: It was a really a I didn't watch that one girly.
40:09
SPEAKER_01: Um, I did see some of the following though.
40:12
SPEAKER_02: The following was kind of I think it might lead to the following, but revenge had a lot of meaty shit where her father was um spoilers.
40:20
SPEAKER_02: Well, this is actually no, it's not a spoiler.
40:22
SPEAKER_02: Pretty much she's coming back to the Hamptons and she's exacting her revenge.
40:28
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so revenge of the Hamptons and all the Sadie shit happened, and you know, because you know, rich white people are into Sadie shit.
40:35
SPEAKER_02: In the Hamptons, no less.
40:38
SPEAKER_02: But I'm kind of leaning to the I don't know, I'm leaning towards the following.
40:43
SPEAKER_02: Okay, but I'm still taking suggestions of shows that I've seen that Lisa hasn't.
40:47
SPEAKER_04: Got it, got it, got it, got it.
40:53
SPEAKER_02: Killing Eve was my original one.
40:55
SPEAKER_02: I never watched that either, and that was amazing, but I I don't know if I think it was a little bit too recent.
41:02
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
41:02
SPEAKER_02: I mean, if it's yeah, I don't know.
41:04
SPEAKER_02: I I'm I'm going back and forth because I was just like, what can we get to like people like oh shit, that show, I forgot about that one.
41:12
SPEAKER_02: I want yeah, I think a lot of people listen to us to begin with because of Lost.
41:17
SPEAKER_02: Sure, sure, not because of who the fuck are we?
41:20
SPEAKER_02: Um so I wanted that kind of like Yeah, yeah, yeah.
41:24
SPEAKER_02: I'm taking suggestions, yeah.
41:27
SPEAKER_02: Just send us a message.
41:30
SPEAKER_05: I never watched this show, and I don't know if either of you are into it.
41:34
SPEAKER_05: I tried and not, but literally among all my friends, mostly women, I don't really have new friends, but the greatest show of all time to them, and it's got a million episodes, I mean million seasons, is supernatural.
41:47
SPEAKER_05: People think supernatural is the greatest thing.
41:49
SPEAKER_05: I'm so glad you look like me.
41:50
SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
41:50
SPEAKER_05: I can't do it.
41:51
SPEAKER_05: I can't do it, I don't get it.
41:52
SPEAKER_02: I just I want to get into it, and I like watched the first episode and I was like, I watched the first couple, I'm like, yeah, and at the time I was a lot younger, and I'm still like no.
42:04
SPEAKER_02: This is too.
42:04
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I didn't get it when I was younger, and I didn't get it like last year when I tried again.
42:08
SPEAKER_05: I was like, okay, well, that's two very different memes that didn't like the show.
42:11
SPEAKER_05: I can't do it.
42:12
SPEAKER_02: And it's funny, along that same line, but was actually better, like along you know when we talk about supernatural-esque, One Tree Hill was pretty good.
42:21
SPEAKER_05: I watched the first episode and liked it when I was whatever five or hour old, I was like, stop aging us.
42:27
SPEAKER_02: That's it.
42:28
SPEAKER_02: I think we have connection issues.
42:30
SPEAKER_05: Um I did, I thought it was like the deepest thing when I was like young.
42:34
SPEAKER_05: I was like, oh, that's gonna be good.
42:36
SPEAKER_05: I never came back to it.
42:37
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
42:37
SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, it was pretty weird, but yeah, but small bill, yeah, not Alski though.
42:44
SPEAKER_01: Smallville, I watched some episodes because Alex watched it.
42:47
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, small bill and never very different.
42:49
SPEAKER_01: It was in and out.
42:52
SPEAKER_05: Small smallville was very like it started off, it was like a soap opera, and then it became kind of a cheesy superhero show, and it's just it was like all over the place, and they did 10 seasons, so like it was just it was it was all over the place.
43:03
SPEAKER_02: Right.
43:04
SPEAKER_02: I actually watched um oh my god, I'm looking at the arrow.
43:09
SPEAKER_02: Arrow was pretty that was pretty good.
43:11
SPEAKER_02: Like, I watched it the first two, three, four seasons.
43:15
SPEAKER_02: I watched all of it, it was good, and I fell off, had other things that was going on, but I was like, that was pretty damn good.
43:20
SPEAKER_02: I was surprised.
43:20
SPEAKER_05: They actually did a good job because one reason, so we're this is so night lost, but one of the reasons it was so good, like it went too long, but they always managed to make it good.
43:28
SPEAKER_05: Be like, why are they doing another season?
43:30
SPEAKER_05: And then they put another twist, and it was actually really good.
43:33
SPEAKER_05: Then they did it.
43:33
SPEAKER_05: And it works, and I was like, Oh, okay.
43:37
SPEAKER_01: So Jack and Kate, somebody.
43:45
SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, that's how we started.
43:47
SPEAKER_02: We started we got off a tangent because we're talking about the constant and how it was like the best episode in TV history.
43:55
SPEAKER_02: So that's how we yeah.
43:57
SPEAKER_02: Our show is about tangents, it's about loss, but it's also about tangents and drinking.
44:02
SPEAKER_05: That show is such a big thing that it's always in my head to like like find your constant, what's the constant, who's your constant?
44:09
SPEAKER_05: It's like been in my brain.
44:11
SPEAKER_05: I feel like there's a lot of people who have that kind of connection because of that show now.
44:15
SPEAKER_05: Um, so it's really interesting.
44:17
SPEAKER_05: Like, that's really deep.
44:18
SPEAKER_05: It's really deep, actually.
44:21
SPEAKER_02: And I like the fact that that what like Barry Day's constant.
44:25
SPEAKER_02: Turned out to be the dude.
44:28
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, that's a twist.
44:30
SPEAKER_02: So now I'm thinking that the season's over, I'm like, okay, Desmond's gone.
44:36
SPEAKER_02: You're on the island.
44:38
SPEAKER_02: What happens to your brain?
44:39
SPEAKER_02: Like, what's gonna happen with Faraday now?
44:41
SPEAKER_04: Nothing.
44:43
SPEAKER_01: Well, we don't even know.
44:46
SPEAKER_01: Well, I okay, Mitchell.
44:48
SPEAKER_02: Like poker with Jamar, okay.
44:50
SPEAKER_01: To the people who who remains on the island, for all you know, they could poof vanish in the thin air.
44:58
SPEAKER_01: That's bullshit.
44:59
SPEAKER_01: But maybe that's how come losses uh lock is dead.
45:03
SPEAKER_02: But he actually was able to get off the island and visit people.
45:08
SPEAKER_02: So he's not he didn't disappear.
45:11
SPEAKER_01: Jeremy Bentham did.
45:13
SPEAKER_05: Oh man, you really don't know this stuff because you are you are uh you are deep in it now.
45:18
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, deep in it.
45:19
SPEAKER_05: I can't yeah, that is this season five about to flip the world upside down, literally.
45:28
SPEAKER_05: It's gonna do your thing for real.
45:29
SPEAKER_05: Maybe you're right.
45:30
SPEAKER_05: So you guys will just stop thinking season five is a doozy.
45:34
SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I told her.
45:37
SPEAKER_00: And then she's like, what do you think's gonna happen?
45:39
SPEAKER_00: I was like, I don't fucking know and I don't care.
45:41
SPEAKER_04: I definitely don't know.
45:44
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
45:45
SPEAKER_02: I think now I'm trying.
45:46
SPEAKER_02: Every time she asks me for my opinion, I try to think of the most insane, dumbest shit.
45:52
SPEAKER_02: And I gotta say, about six out of ten times it actually happens.
45:56
SPEAKER_02: I was like, oh, okay.
45:58
SPEAKER_00: You're not that far off, yeah.
45:59
SPEAKER_00: That's right.
46:00
SPEAKER_00: Even when I'm wrong, I'm not that off.
46:02
SPEAKER_00: I'm not that far off.
46:02
SPEAKER_05: There's some darts at a board, you're gonna hit one for sure.
46:05
SPEAKER_05: It's uh yeah.
46:06
SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
46:07
SPEAKER_02: So, yeah.
46:08
SPEAKER_02: That's what we drink while we do the show, because I can get some insight on the show.
46:12
SPEAKER_02: Because apparently they were in the middle of the street.
46:13
SPEAKER_00: So then what happened to the island?
46:16
SPEAKER_00: What happened to the island?
46:18
SPEAKER_02: I told you that I think it ends up in a different part of the world.
46:22
SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I I think it's gonna be cold because of that damn polar bear.
46:26
SPEAKER_02: So somehow, because the polar bear ended up in the in the desert somewhere, so when the island disappeared, it's gonna end up somewhere in the Arctic.
46:32
SPEAKER_02: I don't fucking know.
46:33
SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be I don't fucking know.
46:34
SPEAKER_02: It makes no fucking sense.
46:35
SPEAKER_02: She is the polar bears live.
46:37
SPEAKER_01: The island is gonna be in the Arctic, in a parallel universe.
46:43
SPEAKER_01: I think at one point you said it was gonna be like was it in the past or the future or something?
46:49
SPEAKER_00: Okay, no, I didn't say I I did ask, it was more like a question.
46:52
SPEAKER_02: I said that they say they're going to move the island, and we're just thinking location.
46:57
SPEAKER_02: But what if it's not a where, but what if it's a when?
47:01
SPEAKER_01: And that was Right, because I remember when you said that and I said, but even if it's a when, then how come you wouldn't see it?
47:07
SPEAKER_02: And then I'm like, fuck you then.
47:11
SPEAKER_01: And then I think there was was it something else?
47:14
SPEAKER_01: No, maybe that was it.
47:17
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
47:18
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
47:18
SPEAKER_01: So no no solid guesses.
47:21
SPEAKER_01: No.
47:21
SPEAKER_01: Like, okay.
47:22
SPEAKER_00: No, no, not bad.
47:24
SPEAKER_01: Not bad guesses.
47:25
SPEAKER_00: It's one of them might be right.
47:28
SPEAKER_02: The island moved 20 years in the future in a parallel universe in the Arctic.
47:35
SPEAKER_02: I don't fucking know.
47:37
SPEAKER_01: Well, one of those might be close.
47:40
SPEAKER_02: Oh, all of them.
47:41
SPEAKER_02: I do not know.
47:42
SPEAKER_01: Or none of them.
47:43
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I'm gonna do, I'm gonna play this like you do Vegas.
47:46
SPEAKER_02: You put your, you know, just put my chip on red.
47:48
SPEAKER_02: Like, not a number, just put it on red, call it a day, like boom.
47:51
SPEAKER_02: Cover all my bets.
47:52
SPEAKER_05: You get some, you get a little something.
47:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I get a little something, some.
47:56
SPEAKER_01: What are your thoughts, Jamar, on season five, besides it's a doozy?
48:01
SPEAKER_05: Um I I mean season four is my favorite, but then season five is my second favorite.
48:06
SPEAKER_05: So uh again, as I say, we're getting into Jamar time here, and uh, I think it is probably the most answering of all seasons, and probably by far.
48:17
SPEAKER_05: It's the it's the one season where they were like, we got one more season, we might as well tell you some stuff now.
48:23
SPEAKER_05: And uh it is it's kind of juicy.
48:25
SPEAKER_05: Like, if you enter the lore of lost, then season five, you're gonna get a lot of like, whoa, wow, okay.
48:32
SPEAKER_05: Uh like every episode is just that.
48:34
SPEAKER_02: It's a big season, yeah.
48:36
SPEAKER_02: We just like don't bother with season six, it's like okay, end it.
48:39
SPEAKER_01: Like, is season six that season six?
48:43
SPEAKER_01: I would say tries to wrap up a lot of stuff and and look look at me.
48:51
SPEAKER_01: You got me doing it.
48:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you now you're doing it.
48:53
SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be doing it soon.
48:55
SPEAKER_01: And kind of like put put the puzzle pieces like to show you how they fit.
49:00
SPEAKER_02: But the picture is still not there, right?
49:01
SPEAKER_01: Like the picture is still.
49:02
SPEAKER_01: I think Jamal understands what I'm saying.
49:04
SPEAKER_05: I yeah, that's right, because you don't want to spoil it.
49:06
SPEAKER_05: So like I totally get what you're saying.
49:08
SPEAKER_01: It yeah, it's like you need it, but you don't.
49:12
SPEAKER_05: You I can tell you, you know, watching it season six in real time, in real time, it's fun.
49:18
SPEAKER_05: Like you kind of like, I don't know what's going on, but this is kind of cool, blah blah blah.
49:22
SPEAKER_05: And then it kind of ends, and you're like, what?
49:24
SPEAKER_05: What most people, there's a few people that really love season six, but the majority of people were very disappointed.
49:30
SPEAKER_05: But I I just think to be fair, there's no way to end something like this.
49:33
SPEAKER_05: You cannot end something that's like the greatest thing of all time, and we gotta just have one finite point.
49:38
SPEAKER_05: You'll never do it.
49:39
SPEAKER_05: It'll never happen.
49:40
SPEAKER_05: You can't, it's not possible.
49:41
SPEAKER_05: And and I think they did it the best way they could do it.
49:44
SPEAKER_05: And then I I get it.
49:45
SPEAKER_05: Maybe today, if I watch it again, I'll feel better about it today than I did then.
49:49
SPEAKER_05: But yeah, season six is another one where like you got four and five, and the season six starts, you're like, what is this the same show?
49:56
SPEAKER_05: I the I think that's what everybody thought.
49:58
SPEAKER_05: Like, that was a mistake.
50:01
SPEAKER_05: Interesting.
50:02
SPEAKER_01: I I will say that after we started The Hiatus like a couple years ago, I was like, Well, fuck this.
50:12
SPEAKER_01: Now I'm invested.
50:13
SPEAKER_01: I need to finish.
50:14
SPEAKER_01: I I I want to watch, I wanna, you know, go through it.
50:17
SPEAKER_01: And getting to the end again, I was a little bit more like, oh, okay.
50:24
SPEAKER_01: More so than when I watched it when it first came out because I was one of those people who were like, What the fuck?
50:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it it didn't, it wasn't like, oh my god, I I'm I'm writing an angry letter.
50:35
SPEAKER_01: Let me go to the supervisor and cut my hair short, you know.
50:38
SPEAKER_01: But but it definitely wasn't like, oh, I feel good about this, but now I feel better.
50:43
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
50:44
SPEAKER_01: So I just feel like I might too.
50:46
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I'm curious how Agnes is gonna feel at the end and what her reaction might be.
50:52
SPEAKER_01: And he's like, is this a different show?
50:54
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so my here's my thoughts on season six before we get into that.
51:02
SPEAKER_02: Because I think it's going to jump into the future 20 years.
51:06
SPEAKER_02: Okay, that was it.
51:08
SPEAKER_02: Okay, because if it's something's gonna leave someone confused, like, is this the same show?
51:12
SPEAKER_02: You might as well just have totally new people on there.
51:15
SPEAKER_02: And so, how else are you gonna have new people if it's not jumped forward?
51:19
SPEAKER_02: Not a dumb thought, not a dumb thought at all.
51:23
SPEAKER_02: I I I I do well on those tipsy.
51:27
SPEAKER_02: So write that down, Lisa.
51:29
SPEAKER_01: I will I will, I I will, I promise.
51:31
SPEAKER_02: And if I'm right, I'll smack myself again.
51:34
SPEAKER_01: Oh, you heard it here.
51:36
SPEAKER_01: Which cheek is it gonna be this time?
51:41
SPEAKER_01: So maybe we didn't have video from that, but thank god.
51:44
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I was gonna Google.
51:46
SPEAKER_05: Waste of my time.
51:47
SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
51:47
SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
51:48
SPEAKER_01: I'll save you the few minutes.
51:51
SPEAKER_01: I'm like I I'm like, let's watch all of season five right now.
51:57
SPEAKER_01: Can we?
51:58
SPEAKER_01: I'm okay with that.
52:01
SPEAKER_01: He's like, what is it?
52:03
SPEAKER_02: He's like, he's like, I gotta like, I can't be doing it.
52:06
SPEAKER_05: I don't know how many episodes that is, but I'm doing so much right now.
52:10
SPEAKER_02: I have things I actually have to do.
52:12
SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm a grown-up, but I do stuff.
52:15
unknown: Oh shit.
52:16
SPEAKER_05: But it was fun though, actually.
52:18
SPEAKER_05: I know I said it, but like, because I haven't even looked at Lost at all since the last time we did something.
52:23
SPEAKER_05: And uh it is always just like, damn, this show is good.
52:27
SPEAKER_05: Like I feel different about it now, because now, like, for the first time, because we're even two more years gone, it is more dated to me now.
52:35
SPEAKER_05: Like now I can feel that this is a show from 17 years ago.
52:38
SPEAKER_05: I feel it now, but it's not bad, and I still think it's like better than almost everything that's on TV now.
52:44
SPEAKER_05: Um, but but it's the first time I felt like, okay, it's a little bit slower paced and it's a little so popry and it's a little whatever, uh, like a little touch of cheesiness, but it's still like these are the best, like, and I'm not uh um, I don't know, I'm not really emotional sensitive type.
52:59
SPEAKER_05: Like, I don't cry generally at all.
53:02
SPEAKER_05: And that Charlie stuff got me again from the end of season three to the beginning of season four, like when they're like debating on the beach, and then Hugo's like, Where's Charlie?
53:12
SPEAKER_05: I'm just like, oh my god, all of that.
53:14
SPEAKER_05: And it's just so much of that.
53:15
SPEAKER_05: And like, what show makes me feel like that today?
53:18
SPEAKER_05: As much as I love TV and certain shows.
53:20
SPEAKER_05: There's like not any show where I'm just like, yeah, where is Charlie?
53:24
SPEAKER_02: Um I'm about to find you a show now that's gonna make you cry.
53:29
SPEAKER_02: That is my mission.
53:30
SPEAKER_02: Because um, once we have done with Lost, we're not done with you.
53:34
SPEAKER_02: Sorry for your pain and suffering if you kind of stuck with us.
53:37
SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
53:37
SPEAKER_05: Oh what show this is.
53:40
SPEAKER_05: Good luck.
53:40
SPEAKER_05: Because I'm very like, ugh, not that show.
53:42
SPEAKER_05: Like the whole world loves 10 last year.
53:43
SPEAKER_01: Well, we're gonna have to get your own personal list and maybe we'll give us a list of shows that you would like to see or have seen.
53:50
SPEAKER_00: They have to be Jamar approved.
53:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's do that.
53:54
SPEAKER_05: I watched so many shows that got like one season and got cut that I think are the greatest shows ever, and they only have one season.
54:00
SPEAKER_05: That's like half of what I watched.
54:02
SPEAKER_05: It's like one season of random shows.
54:03
SPEAKER_05: Like, that was great.
54:04
SPEAKER_05: Oh, never again, cool.
54:06
SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm so mad.
54:07
SPEAKER_02: Like, do you remember?
54:08
SPEAKER_02: Did you see the end game?
54:09
SPEAKER_02: It was like maybe a year or two ago.
54:11
SPEAKER_04: Oh, I didn't see that.
54:12
SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, it was so funny.
54:14
SPEAKER_02: One season, it was fucking great.
54:16
SPEAKER_02: It was a bank, multiple bank heights, it was it was good.
54:21
SPEAKER_02: It ended in one season.
54:22
SPEAKER_02: I'm so pissed.
54:23
SPEAKER_02: I think it came on at 22.
54:25
SPEAKER_02: Oh, what is that on?
54:27
SPEAKER_02: It fuck.
54:29
SPEAKER_02: It was on network television.
54:31
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I want to say NBC.
54:35
SPEAKER_02: I don't know if it can be streamed.
54:37
SPEAKER_03: I just got peacocked.
54:40
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I'm gonna end game.
54:43
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna actually fight.
54:45
SPEAKER_02: Another one I liked I might rewatch was Tyrant.
54:49
SPEAKER_05: I've never heard of that.
54:50
SPEAKER_02: Okay, it was on, I can't remember what channel, I don't know, uh WNG, whatever.
54:56
SPEAKER_02: American woman and a Middle Eastern man, they married, had a family, and long story short, he had to go back to the Middle East.
55:04
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, he's he wasn't a he was his father was high ranking, and the whole family had to go back, and the shit hits the fan.
55:14
SPEAKER_05: Like, it's I knew that this was a thing.
55:17
SPEAKER_05: I didn't watch any of it, but I know that story was a thing.
55:20
SPEAKER_02: It was fucking shit.
55:21
SPEAKER_02: And you like fucking amazing.
55:22
SPEAKER_02: It was amazing.
55:23
SPEAKER_00: Like I binge watched the whole thing, but uh that actually might be a show, but that's I don't think I will talk about that on the show because it's so politically it's a political, like it's nothing we can't talk about because people are gonna get it's too much, but it's a good show that should be watched.
55:44
SPEAKER_01: I think um another good show that's out is The Handmaid's Tale, but it's heavy.
55:50
SPEAKER_05: I never heard of is this a what what is this about?
55:52
SPEAKER_05: Is it like it's based on the books?
55:54
SPEAKER_01: Are you oh are you you're being serious?
55:56
SPEAKER_01: Okay, um, what is it?
55:58
SPEAKER_05: I'm joking, I totally watched The Handmaid's Tale.
56:00
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I was like I feel like everybody heard that.
56:04
SPEAKER_05: I'm trying to put No, no, no.
56:06
SPEAKER_05: I hate that woman, although I'm not anti-women, but she's crazy.
56:09
SPEAKER_05: I uh she's one of my favorite actors, though.
56:11
SPEAKER_01: Um Elizabeth Moss.
56:12
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
56:13
SPEAKER_05: She's been one of my favorite actors since she did the Excedrin commercial.
56:16
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if you know her from the Excedron commercial.
56:18
SPEAKER_02: I remember her from when she was the president's daughter.
56:21
SPEAKER_02: And what West Wing.
56:22
SPEAKER_02: The West Wing.
56:23
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I never watched the West Wing.
56:25
SPEAKER_02: Oh, no, the West Wing.
56:26
SPEAKER_02: He was the best president.
56:27
SPEAKER_02: He should have been our president.
56:28
SPEAKER_02: He should be our president.
56:29
SPEAKER_05: Everybody loves West Wing.
56:30
SPEAKER_05: Everybody always tried to get me to watch it.
56:32
SPEAKER_05: And when I tried to watch it more recently, I felt it felt dated.
56:36
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I couldn't do it.
56:37
SPEAKER_05: But uh, I love her.
56:38
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
56:39
SPEAKER_05: Go Google, it'll come up her in the Excursion commercial.
56:42
SPEAKER_05: That's what I was like, she's gonna be our next big star, and then she was a madman next after that.
56:46
SPEAKER_05: Yep, she just she acted the hell out of the Excedrion commercial.
56:49
SPEAKER_05: You've never seen a commercial like that.
56:51
SPEAKER_01: Maybe that's why I'm sound like Excedrine.
56:55
SPEAKER_01: But no, but I I mean the shit on that show is crazy.
57:00
SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
57:01
SPEAKER_01: I tried that's great.
57:02
SPEAKER_01: I tried to get my husband to watch it.
57:03
SPEAKER_01: He watched the first episode and he was like, How the fuck do you watch this shit?
57:06
SPEAKER_01: This is terrible.
57:07
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, Well, if you're not upset, content, like hard content to watch, right?
57:12
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, because as I saw the first episode, I wrote something, or maybe I did a podcast or something.
57:17
SPEAKER_05: The first episode has like crazy, I don't even remember, but it's like it's it it's basically like a rape scene.
57:21
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
57:22
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and it was brutal.
57:23
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, I don't know, that's about the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.
57:27
SPEAKER_05: This is hard.
57:27
SPEAKER_05: This is brutal.
57:28
SPEAKER_02: I there's certain things that I can't watch because I know my temper.
57:32
SPEAKER_02: I stopped listening to the wrongful convention, the wrongful conviction podcast.
57:39
SPEAKER_02: I get what you said, because it's bad.
57:40
SPEAKER_02: Like if I won't be a driver, I'm like, what the f I'm like we can't do this on private.
57:44
SPEAKER_02: Um, I there's certain movies I won't, I've seen it because I was like in the same room, Mr.
57:51
SPEAKER_02: City Burning, Mr.
57:52
SPEAKER_02: Curse.
57:52
SPEAKER_06: Yes, I get you.
57:53
SPEAKER_02: I there's certain movies I won't Rosewood, I there's certain things I won't watch because I'm not I would be very angry.
58:02
SPEAKER_02: I read the book and I was like, okay, I read it because I yeah, I won't watch it.
58:06
SPEAKER_01: But I don't know if if you um remember the episode, but there's the episode of The Handmaid's Tale where she's pregnant and she's by herself trying to escape, and she's in the house, and it's like it's snowing outside, and there's not a lot of dialogue in the whole episode, but it's one of my favorite episodes.
58:29
SPEAKER_01: Like, she acted the hell out of that episode.
58:32
SPEAKER_05: I just don't even know what she did.
58:33
SPEAKER_01: And she kept going to the car and like Bruce Springsteen's song was playing, and you like all of this as soon as you start talking about it.
58:39
SPEAKER_01: That was that was my favorite episode of like the whole show.
58:42
SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, that's that's dope.
58:44
SPEAKER_05: That's actually probably a really good one.
58:45
SPEAKER_01: Like, that's I mean, she was just phenomenal.
58:48
SPEAKER_01: Like her yeah, but anyway, sorry.
58:51
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, she's super talented, and it's um that show is really great.
58:54
SPEAKER_05: I don't really like the character that much, but um, but I understand too.
58:59
SPEAKER_01: But I'm curious, why why don't you like the character?
59:02
SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's I don't know, not liking the characters.
59:05
SPEAKER_05: I mean, so she's absolutely insane, and I don't want, and and it's and it's and she has reason to be insane, you know.
59:13
SPEAKER_05: So I'm not like putting it down like you shouldn't be insane, right?
59:16
SPEAKER_05: Um, but I also don't I think what I don't like is I don't want the insanity to come across as uh heroism, right?
59:24
SPEAKER_05: It's like yeah, like we want to see them all go down.
59:27
SPEAKER_05: It comes up in the show, they start bringing up a lot, like where she's going back to like kill, to dismember to do all kinds of stuff, and they're like, Oh, right, right in the later seasons, yeah.
59:37
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean.
59:38
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, in the later seasons.
59:38
SPEAKER_05: It's like, hey, you you've won, you did it, you know, now let's get the help.
59:42
SPEAKER_05: Get your kids and get your life back together, blah, blah, blah.
59:45
SPEAKER_05: She's like, ah, and I get it, and I just like I totally get it, but I don't I don't want people to get kind of confused with like, okay, this is mental health stuff, like this, this, you know, and it's it's hard.
59:56
SPEAKER_05: It's hard.
59:57
SPEAKER_05: It might be one of the hardest stories that has been told on television.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_01: Um I think that's what also makes it like so interesting to watch, and and because it really does push the limits of the storytelling and your feelings as you watch it.
1:00:15
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, I I agree.
1:00:16
SPEAKER_05: And I don't disagree with like any of the things they did, like killing the dudes and stuff, but I still want I I want us people to know, like, she is crazy.
1:00:25
SPEAKER_05: Like, do do know that.
1:00:26
SPEAKER_05: Like, kind of like, you know, like superheroes, like any, like uh, a lot of people, uh real world, I'll get to that in a second, but like some of our superheroes, I don't know, maybe Batman, but anybody is like, yeah, it's cute as a cartoon, but do know in the real world that person's insane.
1:00:40
SPEAKER_02: Like you understand that, right?
1:00:44
SPEAKER_02: Like there's something going on if you need to see a therapist, he needs to be in a padded room, yeah.
1:00:48
SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
1:00:50
SPEAKER_05: It's absolutely everybody understands that, right?
1:00:52
SPEAKER_02: Like, I think he's more insane than the fucking joker is.
1:00:55
SPEAKER_02: Like, I think the Joker is Yeah, no, people made that point.
1:00:59
SPEAKER_05: Like, for instance, why won't you just kill the Joker?
1:01:01
SPEAKER_05: Like, like you, you know, all the things you're doing, like, why do you keep like letting him blow up, you know, 30,000 people?
1:01:07
SPEAKER_05: You know, or you're a billionaire, why don't you donate money to this or that, or you know, or you know, I don't know.
1:01:12
SPEAKER_05: It's a lot of different things you can do other than wear the bat suit, which is kind of weird too.
1:01:21
SPEAKER_01: Uh you know.
1:01:23
SPEAKER_05: What's the deal with the adopting the 13-year-old boys all the time?
1:01:26
SPEAKER_05: Like, you know, well, why you why don't you train some men?
1:01:29
SPEAKER_05: I don't know what's going on.
1:01:32
SPEAKER_01: What are you doing?
1:01:33
SPEAKER_01: A lot of weird stuff, man.
1:01:35
SPEAKER_01: He he's gonna have to take the boy.
1:01:38
unknown: I know, right?
1:01:40
SPEAKER_01: What is going on?
1:01:41
SPEAKER_00: We're back, bro.
1:01:43
SPEAKER_02: Oh there we go.
1:01:46
SPEAKER_02: There we go.
1:01:46
SPEAKER_02: We were a little bit too weird.
1:01:48
SPEAKER_02: It's all about lost.
1:01:49
SPEAKER_02: It was all about lost the whole time.
1:01:51
SPEAKER_02: Everything goes back to lost and inappropriate behaviors.
1:01:54
SPEAKER_02: I love it.
1:01:55
SPEAKER_05: Sure.
1:01:55
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if they ever really explain what they were doing with the kids.
1:01:57
SPEAKER_05: I mean, I have an idea, but I don't think they ever really just tell you like it was important to take the kids because of this, and this is what happened to the kids, blah blah blah.
1:02:04
SPEAKER_05: I don't think that ever happened.
1:02:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think you have to kind of just infer it for yourself because it's yeah, Juliette stuff.
1:02:14
SPEAKER_02: They wrote it and forgot about it.
1:02:16
SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
1:02:17
SPEAKER_01: Probably, yeah.
1:02:19
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's real.
1:02:20
SPEAKER_05: You know, you got six seasons, right?
1:02:22
SPEAKER_05: Hey, remember the first couple seasons it was a big deal about taking the kids?
1:02:25
SPEAKER_05: You want to go back to that?
1:02:26
SPEAKER_05: Or we still keep drugging.
1:02:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, no one's gonna remember that.
1:02:31
SPEAKER_01: Let's let's throw in Christian Shepherd and some whispers.
1:02:34
SPEAKER_01: That sounds like a better plan.
1:02:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that kind of kind of welcome.
1:02:39
SPEAKER_01: How about a freighter that blows up awesome?
1:02:42
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right, right, right, right.
1:02:43
SPEAKER_02: I actually prefer that over the madness the first couple seasons.
1:02:48
SPEAKER_02: I actually I I'm okay.
1:02:50
SPEAKER_02: Seeing Christians, I keep saying Christian Slater.
1:02:53
SPEAKER_02: Um that's good, that's okay.
1:02:56
SPEAKER_02: Seeing Shepard, like, I don't know what, but that seems logical.
1:02:59
SPEAKER_02: And lost world.
1:03:01
SPEAKER_04: In Lost World.
1:03:02
SPEAKER_02: That's in Lost World.
1:03:04
SPEAKER_02: It seems logical.
1:03:05
SPEAKER_02: Like the island is purgatory.
1:03:06
SPEAKER_02: They actually did I say this at one point that they actually did die and lost is purgatory, like they actually did die, and all of this is just some kind of very, very hated theory, but yes, and you have said that too.
1:03:18
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was uh yeah, right.
1:03:19
SPEAKER_04: That was a big one.
1:03:20
SPEAKER_04: That's what everybody thought.
1:03:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm just maybe because it was just so obvious, maybe.
1:03:25
SPEAKER_01: But going back to what you were saying about like the Charlie moments and how they got you, I agree.
1:03:31
SPEAKER_01: And I feel like the season finale was like season three finale when he actually died, it wasn't even as bad.
1:03:38
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was bad, sure, but it wasn't even as bad as when the episode before with the greatest hits.
1:03:45
SPEAKER_05: That's right.
1:03:46
SPEAKER_05: You got Mima Feelings right now again.
1:03:47
SPEAKER_05: That's it.
1:03:48
SPEAKER_05: And I'm just once you watch it and you know, and then you watch the game and you go and grow with him again.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_05: You keep going on this journey, like you forget, like we're not gonna see him in season six or whatever, how you know, whatever.
1:03:59
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:03:59
SPEAKER_01: Um and then you get the the moment where Hurley is like, What happened to Charlie?
1:04:05
SPEAKER_01: And everything is like, you know, tire screech, like, oh shit.
1:04:11
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:04:12
SPEAKER_01: And then it's it's a happy, you know, tier.
1:04:18
SPEAKER_01: But when Desmond and Penny get that phone call at the end of the constant, and it's and it's it's like the happy moment, like you get the happy feels, and you're like, oh my god, like they're reconnecting.
1:04:31
SPEAKER_01: They're fine never mind at the end of the season when they finally reunite.
1:04:35
SPEAKER_04: Sure, sure, sure, sure.
1:04:36
SPEAKER_01: Desmond nearly bounds like one fucking leap up into the ship.
1:04:41
SPEAKER_01: It's like Penneh! That was a good desmond.
1:04:44
unknown: Penne!
1:04:45
SPEAKER_04: That was a good desmond.
1:04:47
SPEAKER_01: Uh but then and then there's the Sun and Jin storyline.
1:04:53
SPEAKER_01: I was thinking about Yeah, where you have like the episode um Ji Yun, where it's her flash forwards but his flashbacks, and then the end of the episode you see that she's visiting his grave.
1:05:05
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:05:06
SPEAKER_01: So you're like, oh fuck, like we know that he died.
1:05:11
SPEAKER_01: And then you get to the end of the season.
1:05:13
SPEAKER_01: So like, and at that point, it's still kind of like a little bit, you know.
1:05:17
SPEAKER_01: And then you get to the end of the season, and then you kind of you're like, oh shit, that's what happened.
1:05:24
SPEAKER_02: It's a little rough.
1:05:26
SPEAKER_01: Um seeing Sawyer sacrifice himself and jumping off the helicopter, that had me maybe because no one died, and it was a selfless act that had me like but there was but that and and I think that it was more because it was built on the back of him with the whole Claire thing.
1:05:48
SPEAKER_01: Remember, he was looking out for Claire, and then Claire walked off into the whatever in the void.
1:05:54
SPEAKER_01: And to and she left Aaron, and Sawyer couldn't find her afterwards.
1:05:59
SPEAKER_05: So that's the end of season four.
1:06:00
SPEAKER_05: That happens in the season four.
1:06:01
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:06:02
SPEAKER_01: So he had risked his life to save her after Kimi blew up like New Otherton, or however they called it.
1:06:10
SPEAKER_01: Remember, and she was in the explosion and he got her, she she bumped her head or whatever.
1:06:14
SPEAKER_02: You know she dead, right?
1:06:15
SPEAKER_02: She dead.
1:06:17
SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
1:06:20
SPEAKER_01: And so then him, Miles, and Claire were walking back towards the beach.
1:06:26
SPEAKER_01: And then when he woke up, she was gone.
1:06:27
SPEAKER_01: So he just assumed, well, maybe she went up ahead.
1:06:32
SPEAKER_01: But they never found her.
1:06:33
SPEAKER_01: And then when they met up, when Sawyer and Miles met up with Jack and Kate, and it's like they're carrying Aaron, but where's Claire?
1:06:44
SPEAKER_01: And you see Sawyer's face like now.
1:06:49
SPEAKER_01: I know she's not with you, and I have to I remember this now that you've explained it.
1:06:53
SPEAKER_01: Like the realization that shit, like she is not anywhere.
1:06:58
SPEAKER_01: And I have to now tell you what happened.
1:07:00
SPEAKER_01: So Sawyer was already like, and you don't get to die alone, Jack.
1:07:04
SPEAKER_01: I have to go with you now.
1:07:05
SPEAKER_01: Oh, you are like constantly just going, going, going for everyone else.
1:07:11
SPEAKER_01: And then he jumps out of the damn house.
1:07:13
SPEAKER_02: If they can make this man, just when they can't make him any sexier, they make him sexier.
1:07:18
SPEAKER_05: Well, you know, I'm a a tiny bit spoiler, a tiny bit spoilery.
1:07:22
SPEAKER_05: Again, I just have to say for all the ladies, straight man here.
1:07:25
SPEAKER_05: But if you think Sawyer is sexy now, woo! Just wait a minute.
1:07:31
SPEAKER_06: Wait a minute.
1:07:36
SPEAKER_01: Just give it a second.
1:07:38
SPEAKER_01: His growth is not done growing.
1:07:40
SPEAKER_05: Oh, wow.
1:07:41
SPEAKER_01: He gets even more tracked.
1:07:43
SPEAKER_01: Wow.
1:07:45
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know it's next.
1:07:46
SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
1:07:48
SPEAKER_01: And then and then talk about fucking heartfelt moments tearing at your heartstrings.
1:07:55
unknown: Sorry.
1:07:57
SPEAKER_01: I'll let you know when you need your Adavan.
1:07:59
SPEAKER_01: It is a well, I take it every day, so that's fine.
1:08:02
SPEAKER_05: Oh, Adavan?
1:08:03
SPEAKER_05: I I I had one one time was the greatest experience in my entire life.
1:08:09
SPEAKER_02: I'm at peace.
1:08:10
SPEAKER_02: I am calm.
1:08:11
SPEAKER_02: I am love.
1:08:11
SPEAKER_02: I am peace.
1:08:12
SPEAKER_02: I am calm.
1:08:12
SPEAKER_02: I'm in love.
1:08:13
SPEAKER_02: I'm love.
1:08:15
SPEAKER_01: It's better than being confusion.
1:08:18
SPEAKER_02: Lost leaves me.
1:08:19
SPEAKER_02: I am confusion.
1:08:21
SPEAKER_02: Confusion has changed.
1:08:24
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:08:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:08:26
SPEAKER_01: All right.
1:08:27
SPEAKER_01: Who's got to drink?
1:08:28
SPEAKER_01: You got what?
1:08:29
SPEAKER_02: This is why I had to drink on Lost.
1:08:31
SPEAKER_02: That way, you know, it makes sense.
1:08:34
SPEAKER_01: Who's got any final thoughts or anything else?
1:08:38
SPEAKER_01: Because she has to go watch season five now.
1:08:40
SPEAKER_05: Sure.
1:08:41
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:08:42
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:08:42
SPEAKER_05: No, I keep trying to get other people to watch it with me because, like, you know, so it's an experience I want to share, but whatever.
1:08:49
SPEAKER_05: I gotta find some people, I guess.
1:08:51
SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know that I have any uh extra thing.
1:08:55
SPEAKER_05: I think that the kind of like, yeah, these are my favorite two seasons, so I'm glad you're here now.
1:08:59
SPEAKER_05: I'm glad that Agnes does like this more.
1:09:02
SPEAKER_05: Uh I hope that continues into season five because season five is again, it's very different, very different people, very different stuff happening, but and and then lots of answers.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_05: I think this is the story.
1:09:13
SPEAKER_05: To me, season four and five is lost, is actually what it always was supposed to be.
1:09:17
SPEAKER_05: Uh so enjoy.
1:09:20
SPEAKER_02: Happy bad.
1:09:21
SPEAKER_02: I am so glad you made time for us.
1:09:23
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
1:09:24
SPEAKER_01: Um, me too, me too.
1:09:26
SPEAKER_01: But but but I also want to say that I I think six, you need six to tie it up and end it.
1:09:36
SPEAKER_05: I'm trying not to spoil it, but I would yeah, I so once you get through all that watching season four and knowing how it ends, ends.
1:09:43
SPEAKER_05: I mean like the last episode, last two episodes, whatever, like it really makes season four matter more.
1:09:50
SPEAKER_05: Like the end, like if you watch through the end of season six and can remember or go back and watch four, you'll be like, oh my god, that line meant something going forward, and that is a thing, and that thing he said actually wasn't crazy.
1:10:02
SPEAKER_05: That's exactly right.
1:10:03
SPEAKER_05: And it so it that it does matter, it definitely matters and it ties together.
1:10:07
SPEAKER_05: So, yep, yep, it's a special show, special, special show.
1:10:11
SPEAKER_02: I know trying to cut this short, but okay, I'll be a grown-up.
1:10:15
SPEAKER_02: Nope, no, no, you cannot.
1:10:17
SPEAKER_02: This is no end.
1:10:18
SPEAKER_01: We're almost we are very close now.
1:10:22
SPEAKER_05: Only a hundred episodes to go.
1:10:25
SPEAKER_02: I feel like Lisa actually told me we recorded like over a hundred episodes.
1:10:30
SPEAKER_01: Something like that.
1:10:31
SPEAKER_01: Or it sure feels like it anyway.
1:10:32
SPEAKER_01: I think but the first few seasons, the first two seasons, actually, and I think even season three, they were like 20 some odd episodes.
1:10:39
SPEAKER_04: Rich, definitely, definitely 20 some odd episodes.
1:10:42
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like accomplished.
1:10:46
SPEAKER_02: I feel like I've made something.
1:10:48
SPEAKER_02: I like this award.
1:10:49
SPEAKER_02: I thank Lisa for this award.
1:10:51
SPEAKER_02: Um, you an award.
1:10:52
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, can I have an award for making it through?
1:10:54
SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
1:10:55
SPEAKER_02: Thank you, mom.
1:10:56
SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
1:10:58
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, season five and season six.
1:11:01
SPEAKER_01: That's it.
1:11:01
SPEAKER_01: You're almost done.
1:11:04
SPEAKER_01: You're gonna thank me.
1:11:05
SPEAKER_01: You'll thank me later, as Monk would say.
1:11:09
SPEAKER_02: Oh, we have to watch the movie.
1:11:11
SPEAKER_02: I did.
1:11:12
SPEAKER_02: I didn't watch it, I keep forgetting.
1:11:14
SPEAKER_02: Did did you ever watch Monk?
1:11:16
SPEAKER_01: The show?
1:11:17
SPEAKER_05: Yes, I never watched a single second.
1:11:19
SPEAKER_05: It was always on.
1:11:20
SPEAKER_05: I never watched anything.
1:11:21
SPEAKER_01: It's a it it is a good show.
1:11:23
SPEAKER_05: I know people loved it.
1:11:24
SPEAKER_02: It's a great show.
1:11:26
SPEAKER_02: My mom used to call me Monk.
1:11:27
SPEAKER_02: She's like, you're acting monkish.
1:11:29
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, that's so funny.
1:11:30
SPEAKER_05: And that show is really old too, because it seems like I was that was before I did anything.
1:11:34
SPEAKER_05: How old is that show now?
1:11:36
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I mean, uh, I mean, sorry, uh uh I'm sure that show was just five years old and uh not from the 90s.
1:11:43
SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
1:11:44
SPEAKER_01: I think it's from the 2000s at least.
1:11:47
SPEAKER_05: So you know, it's like a couple years before Lost, maybe, right?
1:11:49
SPEAKER_02: Oh, it started 2002 and 2002-2009.
1:11:54
SPEAKER_02: So you're an adult then, right?
1:11:57
SPEAKER_03: Sure.
1:11:59
SPEAKER_01: Well, and then they made they did a they just came out with a movie.
1:12:03
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I didn't even know that.
1:12:04
SPEAKER_01: I don't think I I didn't know until Agnes told me.
1:12:06
SPEAKER_01: So then I rewatched the whole series so I could watch the movie.
1:12:10
SPEAKER_05: It just came, yeah.
1:12:11
SPEAKER_05: Maybe I did hear this, and but like this literally was just made like in the last couple years.
1:12:15
SPEAKER_00: No, just it just came to the movie, it just came out, yeah.
1:12:18
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so yeah, that's what I mean.
1:12:19
SPEAKER_05: It's current, yeah.
1:12:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:12:21
SPEAKER_02: Current, current.
1:12:22
SPEAKER_02: December 8th, I want to say.
1:12:24
SPEAKER_05: That's just weird because you know, I mean, that's what we're doing now, though.
1:12:26
SPEAKER_05: And I watch all that stuff.
1:12:28
SPEAKER_05: All the shows that come back with another movie or a reboot, I watch every single one.
1:12:31
SPEAKER_02: Um I think shows that just get ended without finishing, they need to make it into a law that they need to make you need some movie to make it.
1:12:40
SPEAKER_05: I'm on your side.
1:12:40
SPEAKER_05: I'm on your side, 100%.
1:12:42
SPEAKER_05: And I'll watch every single one.
1:12:43
SPEAKER_00: Put that shit out on YouTube if you have to, but put it out.
1:12:46
SPEAKER_05: And I'll watch every single one.
1:12:48
SPEAKER_00: So when I'm president, I'll put that into federal law.
1:12:50
SPEAKER_00: All right, well, I'm there.
1:12:52
SPEAKER_01: You are you are almost old enough to run for president.
1:12:56
SPEAKER_01: Look, you're still too young for stuff.
1:12:58
SPEAKER_01: No, no, don't you have to be 45?
1:13:01
SPEAKER_00: Nope.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_01: Are you sure?
1:13:03
SPEAKER_05: Nope, I'm not.
1:13:06
SPEAKER_01: I think you're gonna be 45.
1:13:08
SPEAKER_05: For president, you have to be 35.
1:13:11
SPEAKER_01: Oh, 35?
1:13:12
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, 35, and of course, nobody here is close to 35, so we all gotta wait 10 years, right?
1:13:16
SPEAKER_02: You gotta be 30, right?
1:13:17
SPEAKER_02: You gotta be 35.
1:13:19
SPEAKER_02: Sure.
1:13:19
SPEAKER_02: You know, you're absolutely right.
1:13:21
SPEAKER_02: I just hit 21, so you know, it just became legal.
1:13:24
SPEAKER_01: This is my first glass of wine ever.
1:13:26
SPEAKER_01: I've ever had.
1:13:27
SPEAKER_01: Never mind that I that um I have a child who's uh old enough, just about old enough to get her driver's license, and you have a child with two children.
1:13:34
SPEAKER_00: I'm a grandmother, so you know.
1:13:36
SPEAKER_01: Um that'd be good.
1:13:38
SPEAKER_01: She's a guilf.
1:13:39
SPEAKER_01: She looks good.
1:13:40
SPEAKER_01: I'm a guilf.
1:13:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry.
1:13:46
SPEAKER_01: Turn out over to Baltimore.
1:13:49
SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
1:13:50
SPEAKER_00: If I start driving now, I'm sorry.
1:13:53
SPEAKER_01: Do you have a car?
1:13:54
SPEAKER_01: Do you have a car?
1:13:55
SPEAKER_01: Because she'll be here in March.
1:13:56
SPEAKER_01: You could drive up.
1:13:57
SPEAKER_05: Uh um, I have sold both of my cars.
1:13:59
SPEAKER_05: I'm living full on like I'm in New York now.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_05: Oh nice, it doesn't really work, but whatever.
1:14:05
SPEAKER_02: Oh, because I if I didn't live in the middle of no man's land, I would never drive again.
1:14:09
SPEAKER_02: If I ever move back to like New York, I would never drive unless I I mean I would like rent a car to drive somewhere.
1:14:14
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, same, same.
1:14:16
SPEAKER_05: That's what I thought too.
1:14:17
SPEAKER_05: Anyways, it's like I live downtown and you can't park unless you're gonna pay a million dollars for a parking garage or whatever.
1:14:23
SPEAKER_05: You get tickets all the time.
1:14:24
SPEAKER_05: I can walk to the market, I go to DC all the time.
1:14:26
SPEAKER_05: So I like I'm gonna be a big one.
1:14:28
SPEAKER_01: Do you live by the by the harbor?
1:14:30
SPEAKER_05: I I work there sometimes.
1:14:32
SPEAKER_05: Uh yep, it's right down the street.
1:14:34
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:14:34
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we went we went over there to have brunch, but it was more like a cocktail, and then we walked around a little bit and we went to the city.
1:14:43
SPEAKER_04: Oh, do you know where you went?
1:14:46
SPEAKER_01: Um it was can't well, Canton, but I don't know if you could see it was this place.
1:14:55
SPEAKER_05: Ha, that's hilarious.
1:14:56
SPEAKER_05: Um, I can see.
1:14:58
SPEAKER_05: I don't even know where that is.
1:15:00
SPEAKER_05: Alright.
1:15:01
SPEAKER_01: There was the the time that I was there before that, it was like a tiki bar, but then it shut down, I guess, during the pandemic, and then it was something else.
1:15:16
SPEAKER_01: And then we walked and and we ended up going there.
1:15:19
SPEAKER_01: It was like a little Mexican restaurant.
1:15:20
SPEAKER_01: I forgot the name of it, but that's what I was wondering.
1:15:22
SPEAKER_05: Because a lot of stuff did shut down, because even the places I'll go go to shut down since I've been here.
1:15:27
SPEAKER_01: We we walked on the water side, like we parked in that little lot, we walked in on the waterside, and you could see like so as as we're walking, the water is to the right of us, and to the left, there's like the condos and the people in their pools.
1:15:41
SPEAKER_03: Gotcha.
1:15:42
SPEAKER_01: Or whatever.
1:15:42
SPEAKER_03: Sure, sure, sure.
1:15:43
SPEAKER_01: And the restaurant was like right in one of those, like jet jet out, like cutouts, jutouts, whatever.
1:15:51
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, this.
1:15:54
SPEAKER_05: The earth that's on the tilt the axis.
1:15:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, the power.
1:15:58
SPEAKER_05: Australia is the desert, yeah.
1:16:02
SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
1:16:04
SPEAKER_01: But um, now she I'm I'm kidnapping her here in March because it's my daughter, sweet 16.
1:16:12
SPEAKER_01: So you just want me for free labor.
1:16:15
SPEAKER_01: I'm okay with that though.
1:16:16
SPEAKER_01: It's legit cheaper to fly her here than it is for me to buy a cake.
1:16:22
SPEAKER_01: It is.
1:16:23
SPEAKER_05: Cake is your daughter eating.
1:16:25
SPEAKER_02: Because some cakes are expensive.
1:16:27
SPEAKER_02: Hell yeah, they're fucking expensive.
1:16:29
SPEAKER_02: So she should have fly me out there and I'm gonna bake the cake.
1:16:32
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna make her a cake for her.
1:16:34
SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
1:16:35
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you do stuff like that.
1:16:36
SPEAKER_02: I used to.
1:16:37
SPEAKER_02: No, I used to I used to be so cool.
1:16:38
SPEAKER_02: I don't know what happened.
1:16:39
SPEAKER_01: I don't you still are when you wanna be.
1:16:43
SPEAKER_05: No, I'm glad you're back.
1:16:44
SPEAKER_05: I I always assume that you guys got in a big fight and you're never gonna do anything anymore.
1:16:48
SPEAKER_02: Oh gosh, no.
1:16:50
SPEAKER_05: You had all kinds of excuses like, oh, it's my health, it's my this like I know what happened.
1:16:54
SPEAKER_05: You have to tell me you get mad, they stop talking to each other.
1:16:57
SPEAKER_05: I know what happened.
1:16:58
SPEAKER_05: I'm cool, I'm cool with you, I'm cool with her out, and I won't tell you I'm talking to each other.
1:17:04
SPEAKER_02: Things like he found us out.
1:17:06
SPEAKER_02: And it's actually it's funny you mentioned that because we're just having a conversation.
1:17:09
SPEAKER_02: I was like, as long as we don't, we've never had a fight.
1:17:12
SPEAKER_02: What?
1:17:12
SPEAKER_02: That's that no, she's actually right.
1:17:14
SPEAKER_05: I gotta get on that.
1:17:18
SPEAKER_02: Let me tell her something about you.
1:17:21
SPEAKER_02: Actually, to be fair, we didn't we tell each other right in her face.
1:17:25
SPEAKER_02: That's true.
1:17:25
SPEAKER_01: No, the the closest that I think we ever came to being like even rude was like when we got close to recording the end of season three, and I think I was like, Oh, but do you wanna?
1:17:37
SPEAKER_01: And you're like, I said no, and I was like, Well, damn, and you're like, I can't do it, and I was like, all right, all right.
1:17:45
SPEAKER_02: I did I that was being text, it wasn't even so she like um in her head.
1:17:52
SPEAKER_05: That's what people do.
1:17:53
SPEAKER_05: I hate that people do that.
1:17:54
SPEAKER_05: That's really that's not what I was thinking at all.
1:17:56
SPEAKER_05: I was like, no, what is she talking about?
1:18:02
SPEAKER_01: I was like, no, but no, but she's right.
1:18:05
SPEAKER_01: We I don't think we've ever guilty for the bad even two now.
1:18:09
SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's boring.
1:18:10
SPEAKER_05: We'll we'll work on that.
1:18:12
SPEAKER_02: I need to see a therapist.
1:18:14
SPEAKER_02: Come here.
1:18:16
SPEAKER_02: Here it goes.
1:18:18
SPEAKER_01: A liquid therapist.
1:18:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
1:18:21
SPEAKER_01: Maybe maybe if we want to escape the house on on Sunday, depending on when your flight back is, we'll we'll take a trip down to Baltimore and we'll stalk Jamar.
1:18:31
SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, that's where I live.
1:18:33
SPEAKER_01: We'll go find an ice girl.
1:18:37
SPEAKER_05: Coincidentally, I know a guy.
1:18:40
SPEAKER_01: Really, you do.
1:18:42
SPEAKER_01: On a good day, it's like two and a half hours.
1:18:45
SPEAKER_01: No traffic.
1:18:47
SPEAKER_02: I just like I think I enjoy being in a car where I don't have to drive.
1:18:52
SPEAKER_01: But Baltimore is nice.
1:18:53
SPEAKER_01: I mean, the parts that I've been to.
