- 0:02Speaker 1: This is am I the problem.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's me, Hi the problem.
- 0:09Speaker 3: It's me.
- 0:09Speaker 4: We'll hear one side of the story and with your
- 0:12Speaker 4: help probably decide if it's right or if maybe you're
- 0:17Speaker 4: the problem. That's right, I am the problem on Big
- 0:21Speaker 4: ninety eight point seven.
- 0:23Speaker 5: All right, Gloria wrote in to us, let's jump right in.
- 0:26Speaker 5: Hi Angie, Hi Gabe. Hope you're well and I need
- 0:29Speaker 5: your input on this situation. I was at my sister's
- 0:32Speaker 5: house for dinner, and afterwards, she and my brother in
- 0:34Speaker 5: law asked me if I could watch the kids for
- 0:36Speaker 5: an hour while they went to do a grocery pickup
- 0:39Speaker 5: and a pet food pickup. Obviously, I said yes, but
- 0:42Speaker 5: that I had plans later, so if it's going to
- 0:44Speaker 5: take more than an hour, I don't want to. My
- 0:47Speaker 5: sister said yeah, for sure, they'd be back before an hour.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Turns out it was more like two and a half hours,
- 0:53Speaker 5: and they just kept saying we're almost done every time
- 0:56Speaker 5: I texted. I didn't leave because I would never leave
- 0:58Speaker 5: the kids unattended. But I let them do whatever they wanted,
- 1:02Speaker 5: and I gave them all the sugar and didn't make
- 1:05Speaker 5: them go to bed. When they got home, they were
- 1:08Speaker 5: mad at the mess and that the kids were still up. Yes,
- 1:11Speaker 5: I do know their bedtime routine, but I technically wouldn't
- 1:14Speaker 5: have been there for that if they had come back
- 1:16Speaker 5: on time. We got into a big fight and they're mad,
- 1:19Speaker 5: but I'm also mad.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Who's right?
- 1:22Speaker 1: I love this girl?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh Glory your team, Gloria.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, one thousand person.
- 1:27Speaker 6: Why.
- 1:29Speaker 7: I want to tell you a little story to answer
- 1:30Speaker 7: this question for Gloria about a good buddy of mine.
- 1:33Speaker 7: I had a buddy of mine that whenever we would
- 1:35Speaker 7: go somewhere and maybe he needed a ride or had
- 1:37Speaker 7: to get picked up, you would be like, all right,
- 1:39Speaker 7: I'll be there at five. You would get there, you
- 1:41Speaker 7: know I have four fifty eight four fifty nine, and
- 1:44Speaker 7: you would sit in his driveway I'm not kidding you,
- 1:47Speaker 7: fifteen to twenty minutes, not occasionally, every single time that
- 1:53Speaker 7: you went to get him. And finally I told him,
- 1:55Speaker 7: I was like, hey, dude, I will give you a ride,
- 1:57Speaker 7: but I need to be at this at this time.
- 2:00Speaker 7: If you are not outside, I am going to leave.
- 2:03Speaker 7: And I left and he didn't get to whatever he
- 2:06Speaker 7: needed to go to or what have you. And going forward,
- 2:09Speaker 7: he never made me sit outside for fifteen twenty minutes.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Again, the only way to.
- 2:14Speaker 7: Get it through to someone that hey, there are consequences
- 2:19Speaker 7: for your actions is to follow through on set actions.
- 2:23Speaker 1: She did exactly what she was supposed to do.
- 2:25Speaker 7: She kept the kids alive, They were never in danger,
- 2:28Speaker 7: nothing bad was going to happen. Okay, all they did
- 2:31Speaker 7: was got to color on walls and eat skittles galore
- 2:35Speaker 7: for the hours. There's no way to teach your sister
- 2:38Speaker 7: a lesson other than dealing with said consequence.
- 2:42Speaker 5: I wow, I disagree with you wholeheartedly in your situation.
- 2:47Speaker 5: I get that because that friend of yours had kept
- 2:49Speaker 5: disrespecting your time, and so that makes sense to me.
- 2:53Speaker 5: But this a there, It doesn't look like here that
- 2:56Speaker 5: this is something that happens all the time.
- 2:59Speaker 2: By that's your sister. You can't grant your sister some grace.
- 3:05Speaker 6: I know.
- 3:05Speaker 5: That's why I have been in a position where oh,
- 3:09Speaker 5: just when you have kids game. Okay, my sister and
- 3:12Speaker 5: I we both have kids, and sometimes we need to
- 3:15Speaker 5: get things done and it's easier to do it without
- 3:17Speaker 5: the kids around, and so we've helped each other out.
- 3:20Speaker 5: But like, what if the pickup at Target or wherever
- 3:24Speaker 5: that she was doing a pickup. What if it just
- 3:26Speaker 5: took longer, Like, you don't know how many people are
- 3:28Speaker 5: picking up their groceries at the same time. The same
- 3:30Speaker 5: with the pet food pickup. I feel like stuff happens,
- 3:33Speaker 5: and I think it's wild to not give your sister
- 3:38Speaker 5: some grace.
- 3:38Speaker 7: Well, then her sister needs to say, hey, I don't
- 3:41Speaker 7: know what's going on with this pickup. There's nothing I
- 3:43Speaker 7: can do about it. And I'll tell you right now,
- 3:45Speaker 7: it does not take two and a half hours. Is
- 3:47Speaker 7: gonna pick up done from Walmart and Petco? Okay, cause
- 3:50Speaker 7: I go do pickups at Petco and I've never waited
- 3:53Speaker 7: more than three minutes in my entire life. They went
- 3:56Speaker 7: out to dinner, they got coffee, they were getting snacks,
- 4:00Speaker 7: exactly bad.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They completely disrespected she had somewhere to be.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Listen, I that is really okay, that is true.
- 4:08Speaker 5: However, I just feel like, if that's your sister, and
- 4:12Speaker 5: like she seems like this has been cool with her,
- 4:14Speaker 5: that she watches the kids before, like you can't grant
- 4:17Speaker 5: her grace the one time.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I just feel like it's not.
- 4:19Speaker 1: That big of a deal.
- 4:21Speaker 5: And I understand it's I understand that it's like annoying
- 4:26Speaker 5: to have your time wasted.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But I don't know. I just I feel like I
- 4:31Speaker 2: would grant great.
- 4:32Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 4:33Speaker 5: Seven on one two, eight on one nine eight seven
- 4:35Speaker 5: Do you agree with Gabe that she should have just
- 4:37Speaker 5: kept them alive and let them do whatever they want?
- 4:40Speaker 5: And she's absolutely right this Gloria? Or are you team Angie?
- 4:45Speaker 5: Who thinks grant your sister or some grace?
- 4:47Speaker 7: Well and behold, I bet Gloria will never sit again.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven. Who's this?
- 5:00Speaker 6: Well? I want to say that the sister told her
- 5:04Speaker 6: right away that she can't sow past an hour, so
- 5:09Speaker 6: they should have respected her that and have told her
- 5:12Speaker 6: that they were going to be back in an hour.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Be back in an hour. If they weren't going to
- 5:17Speaker 6: then they should have called and said something was going on.
- 5:20Speaker 6: But speaking some experience, it's difficult when you say yes,
- 5:25Speaker 6: I can do this for an hour and you're there
- 5:27Speaker 6: two and a half hours later.
- 5:28Speaker 7: All right, A very interesting kind of back and forth?
- 5:31Speaker 7: Am I the problem today, Angie?
- 5:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Gloria agreed to watch her sister's kids for an hour.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Her sister didn't show up till two and a half
- 5:39Speaker 5: hours later, So Gloria let the kids run am up,
- 5:43Speaker 5: eat all the sugar and not go to bed. And
- 5:45Speaker 5: so Gloria's sister's mad at her. Whose side are you on?
- 5:49Speaker 5: We also posted this on the Big ninety eight point
- 5:50Speaker 5: seven Facebook page so you can weigh in. I'm team Gloria.
- 5:54Speaker 5: I think she should grant some grace. Gabis No, I'm
- 5:58Speaker 5: team the sister and gave his team Gloria. He thinks
- 6:02Speaker 5: Gloria did exactly what she was supposed to do.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I love I believe her name is uh GM j
- 6:08Speaker 1: E A N N E. How would you say that, Genie.
- 6:12Speaker 7: Genie, Yeah, Genie or gm She said? This is all
- 6:16Speaker 7: she said. Gabe is one hundred percent correct. Of course
- 6:19Speaker 7: you love that answer.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Celebrating life's little victories victory every morning we practice gratitude
- 6:29Speaker 4: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:31Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 6:33Speaker 3: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 6:37Speaker 4: I just really needed to win, you know, sure your
- 6:39Speaker 4: little victories with us at seven oh one two eight
- 6:42Speaker 4: oh one, ninety eight seven.
- 6:44Speaker 7: And we have to give Marissa a big shout out
- 6:46Speaker 7: this morning for her little victory Angie, She said, over
- 6:49Speaker 7: this weekend, I gave my son's friend a mom hug
- 6:55Speaker 7: that he really seemed to need. Victory for me, because
- 6:57Speaker 7: I don't really like being touchy for people I don't
- 6:59Speaker 7: know that well.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But she gave him that mom hug. It seemed like
- 7:03Speaker 1: he need.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Nonetheless, So wait to go for you. That's very cute,
- 7:06Speaker 7: That's sweet. How does that not warm your heart on
- 7:08Speaker 7: a Monday?
- 7:09Speaker 2: It absolutely warms my heart on a Monday, on a.
- 7:12Speaker 7: Day with twenty three excuse me negative twenty three win show. Yeah, Angie,
- 7:20Speaker 7: do you have a little victory for us here on
- 7:21Speaker 7: this Monday?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Do you have a good weekend?
- 7:23Speaker 2: I did have a great weekend.
- 7:24Speaker 5: My best friend from back home in Vegas, she came
- 7:29Speaker 5: to visit, and most people would not want to visit
- 7:32Speaker 5: far go during these.
- 7:34Speaker 7: Yeah, January is an interesting time to come visit you
- 7:37Speaker 7: and in like June July.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, she missed me.
- 7:41Speaker 5: I missed her, and so she came despite.
- 7:44Speaker 2: The harsh weather conditions, especially coming from Vegas. But we
- 7:48Speaker 2: had we have had the best time.
- 7:50Speaker 5: She leaves today in the afternoon, so I get a
- 7:52Speaker 5: little bit more time with her after the show.
- 7:54Speaker 2: But ah, what of it? Just felt like I've known
- 7:57Speaker 2: her since we were in high school.
- 7:59Speaker 5: We've been best friends, and it just felt like we
- 8:01Speaker 5: picked up where we left off. And I got to
- 8:04Speaker 5: take her to Rhombus Guy's Pizza and she loved it,
- 8:09Speaker 5: and she said it was the best pizza she's had it,
- 8:11Speaker 5: almost like ever.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Really.
- 8:13Speaker 7: Yes, So when she goes back to Vegas, she'll that'll
- 8:17Speaker 7: be the thing she remembers. Obviously, it'll I'm sure she
- 8:20Speaker 7: had a great time with her best friend. Yeah, it's
- 8:22Speaker 7: the pizza. You'll be talking about the pizza. Yeah, exactly.
- 8:25Speaker 7: That's wonderful. That's interesting you say she came to visit
- 8:28Speaker 7: in January this time. And I'm not trying to get
- 8:30Speaker 7: too off topic, but there was a time this weekend
- 8:32Speaker 7: where Corey and I were driving to Costco.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I swear to god, we are driving.
- 8:36Speaker 7: I was on Veterans or I was on forty fifth,
- 8:38Speaker 7: I can't remember off the top of my head right now,
- 8:40Speaker 7: but we were driving. I was like, look, this looks
- 8:42Speaker 7: like a scene from a movie. Who someone's space shuttle
- 8:46Speaker 7: got stranded on the moon. Yeah, on Mars or something.
- 8:50Speaker 7: It was so crazy. Yeah, rolling around this weekend with
- 8:54Speaker 7: the wind and all of the snow so very interesting.
- 8:56Speaker 1: She came in January.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we took a little trip to Happy Hair
- 9:00Speaker 5: He's to pick up some adult beverages and the weather
- 9:04Speaker 5: was weathering.
- 9:04Speaker 2: She's like this, you live here, right, you live here right?
- 9:09Speaker 7: My little Victory is my wife and I on Friday,
- 9:13Speaker 7: I think it was Friday or Saturday started watching this
- 9:16Speaker 7: new show on Netflix and she instantly was like, here's
- 9:21Speaker 7: a show I think you'll really like.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Do you want to sit and watch it?
- 9:23Speaker 7: Because her and I have such opposite taste when it
- 9:27Speaker 7: comes to watching TV, and I was like, oh, well,
- 9:29Speaker 7: that's very nice, Like I kind of can guess where
- 9:32Speaker 7: this show is gonna go, and you just want something
- 9:35Speaker 7: to do together, So yeah, let's check it out. House
- 9:38Speaker 7: of Guinness on Netflix. Corey and I loved it so much.
- 9:42Speaker 7: We finished it in two days.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 9:45Speaker 7: Rifled through it and they're not all like one hour
- 9:48Speaker 7: one hour long episodes. There's only eight of them, so
- 9:52Speaker 7: it's really probably closer to like six ish hours.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Of fixish hours to watching a show two days.
- 10:00Speaker 7: We housed about six sish hours of this show amazing,
- 10:04Speaker 7: and it was great and we had a nice, warm
- 10:06Speaker 7: time on the couch inside together with our dog. It
- 10:10Speaker 7: was a very nice, very relaxing weekend of a whole
- 10:13Speaker 7: lot of nothing, which I learned we need sixty days
- 10:16Speaker 7: a year or so of lazy, do nothing check one offs.
- 10:26Speaker 7: This weekend I got a funny text from a very
- 10:29Speaker 7: very good friend of mine whom I loved to death,
- 10:31Speaker 7: and this could be part of the Big ninety eight
- 10:35Speaker 7: point seven morning show. My good buddy, we call him Gink,
- 10:39Speaker 7: but his name is Chris Hes.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Wait, sorry not to derail, Yeah, but this is the
- 10:45Speaker 5: second friend of yours.
- 10:46Speaker 2: So you've told me their name and then it's like,
- 10:48Speaker 2: it's actually this name that's nothing like what we call them.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Yeah, his last name I don't really want to say,
- 10:55Speaker 7: but it's not you know what's funny. His last name's
- 10:58Speaker 7: not even Gink. It's so liked that I'll put it
- 11:01Speaker 7: that way. But this kid, when he was in elementary
- 11:03Speaker 7: school couldn't say his last name correctly. So he was like,
- 11:07Speaker 7: I'm just gonna call I'm just gonna call you Gink.
- 11:09Speaker 7: And he's been Gank literally his whole life. Okay, all
- 11:12Speaker 7: right back on track. Yeah, so he texts, He texted
- 11:15Speaker 7: me this this weekend and he was like Hey, do
- 11:18Speaker 7: you want to find something to bet on and we
- 11:20Speaker 7: can do what he is going to call this push
- 11:22Speaker 7: up bet and I was like, yeah, sure, man, sounds good.
- 11:25Speaker 1: What do we do?
- 11:26Speaker 7: And it was basically, whatever we're gonna bet on, whether
- 11:28Speaker 7: it's like a Vikes Packers game.
- 11:30Speaker 1: He's a big Packer fan or something. Yeah, right, Uh,
- 11:33Speaker 1: we're gonna bet on it.
- 11:34Speaker 7: And then the loser what they have to do is
- 11:38Speaker 7: they have to drop and do ten push ups anytime
- 11:42Speaker 7: the other person calls, no matter where they are, no
- 11:45Speaker 7: matter what they're doing, no matter So I could be
- 11:48Speaker 7: in the middle of this show and Chris calls, I
- 11:51Speaker 7: would have to do ten.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Push ups, Oh my gosh, I love this. Or if I.
- 11:55Speaker 7: Win the bet, he had to be in the middle
- 11:56Speaker 7: of teaching his first graders or whatever grade he's in
- 11:59Speaker 7: right now, Yeah, and he would have to stop and
- 12:01Speaker 7: do ten pushups.
- 12:02Speaker 5: I say this with all the love in the world, Gabe,
- 12:05Speaker 5: I hope sincerely that you lose.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I was telling him.
- 12:10Speaker 7: I was like, oh, we have I mean, I have
- 12:11Speaker 7: to do this. This would be a just fun for
- 12:14Speaker 7: him and I to do, but be perfect for the
- 12:15Speaker 7: Big ninety eight point seven Morning Show. Yes, if I'm
- 12:18Speaker 7: sitting here and just all of a sudden, it's like
- 12:20Speaker 7: today's righty bit. All right, sorry, guys, I gotta hit
- 12:22Speaker 7: up ten years.
- 12:23Speaker 5: I'll vamp, i'll marry, I'll paint the picture of whatever
- 12:27Speaker 5: you're doing.
- 12:27Speaker 2: But I love this. This is magical.
- 12:29Speaker 7: Have you ever had a really weird or interesting bet
- 12:34Speaker 7: in your life? Seven oh one two eight zero one
- 12:37Speaker 7: nine eight seven? What's the goofiest bet you've ever made?
- 12:40Speaker 7: Did you win? Did you lose? Let us know here
- 12:43Speaker 7: this morning, because I have another one that I would
- 12:46Speaker 7: share with you after you got to tell me this
- 12:47Speaker 7: one with your brother.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Uh yeah, you want me to say it right now? Okay,
- 12:51Speaker 5: So I you know what, I should probably do this again.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I had a baby fifteen years ago and I wanted.
- 12:59Speaker 5: To get back in shape and so, but I also
- 13:03Speaker 5: I was lazy about it. So I asked my brother
- 13:06Speaker 5: to make a bet with me that I could lose
- 13:09Speaker 5: X amount of pounds by my birthday. This was in February.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I was of twenty ten. It was so long ago,
- 13:16Speaker 5: but I was like, I want to lose fifty pounds
- 13:18Speaker 5: by my birthday in July, and I need some like motivation.
- 13:22Speaker 5: And he said Okay, if you don't lose the fifty
- 13:25Speaker 5: pounds by your birthday, you have to duel me in
- 13:30Speaker 5: a game of you Geo cards. When I tell you,
- 13:35Speaker 5: I hadn't it is a card game. If you don't
- 13:39Speaker 5: Pokemon cards magic, that gathering, No, that's cooler.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yu gi oh is a card game.
- 13:44Speaker 5: And he and a cartoon, and he was obsessed with this,
- 13:47Speaker 5: and boy could none of us the other siblings care
- 13:51Speaker 5: less about.
- 13:52Speaker 2: This stupid yugio And he would always be like, can
- 13:54Speaker 2: you doue me? Can you do me? Absolutely not, because
- 13:56Speaker 2: I'm not a loser, and I'm kidding, but I mean
- 13:59Speaker 2: I never wanted to. First of all, learning games is
- 14:01Speaker 2: really hard for me.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That's already a stress.
- 14:04Speaker 6: Yes.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And then cards, no, not a fan.
- 14:07Speaker 5: And so he said, if you don't, you have to
- 14:09Speaker 5: duel me in like a real like tournament.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So multiple games.
- 14:13Speaker 5: And when I tell you, Gab July third hit, it
- 14:17Speaker 5: was my birthday and I stepped on the scale and
- 14:18Speaker 5: I had lost fifty four pounds.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Because this is wonderful.
- 14:23Speaker 5: I feel like I need to make this bet again.
- 14:25Speaker 5: He still plays you gil at thirty five years old.
- 14:28Speaker 5: I'm not hating, I just I want to lose some
- 14:31Speaker 5: poundage this year, so I gotta seven.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Oh one two eight zero one eight seven.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Sometimes the bets you make with your friends or your family,
- 14:39Speaker 7: it's a little different, obviously than if you're just gambling money.
- 14:43Speaker 7: But sometimes the greatest stories come from bets with friends. Yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 7: there's a lot of people who play fantasy insert whatever football,
- 14:52Speaker 7: yeah whatever, and last place has to go do something
- 14:56Speaker 7: insanely embarrassing or they get tattoos or something.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, and it is like near what happened
- 15:02Speaker 2: in fantasy football with y'all this year? Who had to
- 15:05Speaker 2: do something embarrassing?
- 15:08Speaker 7: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven, it's Gabe and Angie.
- 15:11Speaker 7: We get some son today, partly Sonny. A high of five,
- 15:14Speaker 7: wind chill at minus twenty six. That means when you
- 15:18Speaker 7: leave the house today, you'll want a hat, you'll want gloves,
- 15:20Speaker 7: you'll definitely want a jacket. How many dolls did you
- 15:23Speaker 7: bring in today?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Angie?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Stop?
- 15:25Speaker 7: You really better hope that that truck that you ride
- 15:28Speaker 7: in or car does not break down.
- 15:30Speaker 5: You know what, I feel like we should I wanted
- 15:31Speaker 5: to talk about something else right now, but I feel
- 15:33Speaker 5: like scratch that we need to have this discussion.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Today is the day.
- 15:37Speaker 7: Okay, I explain to me why you won't leave your
- 15:41Speaker 7: house without a jacket, like you're some.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Really cool thirteen year old or going to middle school.
- 15:47Speaker 7: Bay even get a darn jacket on and it's minus
- 15:50Speaker 7: twenty six.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Gabe, First of all, windchill.
- 15:53Speaker 5: You are going to be such a great father based
- 15:55Speaker 5: only on that little speech alone.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Excite for your kid to deal with that when they're
- 16:01Speaker 2: in middle school. Okay.
- 16:03Speaker 5: The thing is, I run hot, and so it is
- 16:08Speaker 5: really frustrating to have to layer on all these thing
- 16:13Speaker 5: jacket and then the sweater and a scarf and gloves
- 16:16Speaker 5: and hat, I don't know whatever everybody wears as cold
- 16:18Speaker 5: weather things. To pile all that on just to make
- 16:22Speaker 5: a very short trek to the car. And then you
- 16:26Speaker 5: get in the car, which you have warmed up with
- 16:29Speaker 5: remote start. So now inside the car is really warm
- 16:32Speaker 5: and toasty. So all of this gear that you just
- 16:34Speaker 5: put on, you have to take all of it off
- 16:37Speaker 5: so you're not dying and sweating in the car.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Just don't turn the heat on in the car. Leave
- 16:42Speaker 1: it on off.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Oh I would love that, except for I'm not the
- 16:45Speaker 5: only person in the car. Gabe, I'm not the only
- 16:48Speaker 5: person in the car. The other person, Mikey, God bless
- 16:51Speaker 5: him because he drives me to work.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Every day because I cannot in these road conditions.
- 16:56Speaker 5: He is someone who needs he's someone who needs it
- 17:00Speaker 5: to be warm. And so then I get in the car.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Then you have to take all the stuff off, then
- 17:07Speaker 5: put it all back on, just for the short trek
- 17:10Speaker 5: from the car to the building. And then you get
- 17:13Speaker 5: inside and it's not freezing in here.
- 17:16Speaker 2: So then you wanna take all of it. It's too much.
- 17:18Speaker 5: It's too much, and the process overheats me and makes
- 17:22Speaker 5: me sweat. And my hair is naturally curly, but I
- 17:26Speaker 5: straighten it, so when I start sweating, my edges start curling.
- 17:29Speaker 2: It's all a disaster.
- 17:31Speaker 5: So you know what I do is I don't put
- 17:33Speaker 5: on all the gear, and I just make the short
- 17:35Speaker 5: trek to the car and the end.
- 17:37Speaker 2: And then I make this short trek to the building
- 17:39Speaker 2: and the.
- 17:39Speaker 5: End, and it's fine. I'm wearing a sweatshirt and like pants.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 17:46Speaker 7: Could you let our Angie know how wrong she is
- 17:48Speaker 7: here this morning? Okay, Angie, it is going to only
- 17:52Speaker 7: take one time, one time where your car or for
- 17:56Speaker 7: whatever reason, you run out of gas or something breaks
- 17:59Speaker 7: or whatever the case may be, where you will never
- 18:03Speaker 7: leave your house without a jacket. Again, I'm just trying
- 18:05Speaker 7: to prevent you from dealing with that moment before you're ready.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Okay, Well, I didn't think about that, and I'm sorry.
- 18:14Speaker 1: At some point you're gonna really regret it, and it will.
- 18:18Speaker 7: It happens to everybody, and I'm just trying to save
- 18:22Speaker 7: your fingers and toes.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:23Speaker 7: I don't want to start calling you Lucky when you
- 18:25Speaker 7: got eight fingers. Okay, Gabe and Lucky doesn't sound as
- 18:30Speaker 7: good as Gabe and Angie. All right, let us know,
- 18:32Speaker 7: ang you needs some winter advice. How much does she
- 18:35Speaker 7: need to be wearing a jacket in the morning at
- 18:37Speaker 7: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eighty seven.
- 18:39Speaker 7: I'm only looking out for your best interest.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I need some tips, I need some help.
- 18:43Speaker 5: There's got to be a better way I'm at.
- 18:51Speaker 7: Verizon is offering a twenty dollars credit per account to
- 18:56Speaker 7: customers who were affected by last week's Wednesday network outage.
- 19:01Speaker 7: The company admits the credit doesn't fully make up for
- 19:04Speaker 7: the disruption. In notes it's applied per account, not per line,
- 19:07Speaker 7: meaning customers with multiple lines they get a smaller percentage back.
- 19:11Speaker 7: To claim it, customers must open the market. I've Verizon
- 19:15Speaker 7: app that take action button and select redeem now, and
- 19:19Speaker 7: the credit will appear within one to two billing cycles.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Oh my gosh. Okay, nice that they're gonna give a
- 19:28Speaker 5: credit back, because that rarely happens. But we'll get all
- 19:32Speaker 5: But look at all the work you have to do.
- 19:34Speaker 5: You gotta open the app, you gotta click a thing,
- 19:36Speaker 5: and then it won't even get there till potentially sixty
- 19:40Speaker 5: days later. I think they're counting on people being too
- 19:43Speaker 5: lazy to do it.
- 19:44Speaker 7: Oh, one thousand percent. I do give them credit for
- 19:48Speaker 7: at least doing something, because you always see this if
- 19:51Speaker 7: you and it's not just Verizing any phone company, yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 7: you know, AT and T.
- 19:55Speaker 1: What's another phone company?
- 19:57Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah, when they.
- 19:58Speaker 7: Have outages, you all always see people talking about it,
- 20:01Speaker 7: complaining about it on social media, and it's like, oh,
- 20:03Speaker 7: are they gonna give me any money back on my
- 20:05Speaker 7: bill or whatever? So I actually do give them credit
- 20:07Speaker 7: for doing something.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I won the bars low.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I once upon.
- 20:12Speaker 7: A time received a really big payback from a company once.
- 20:17Speaker 7: What was it. I used to look forward to these checks,
- 20:20Speaker 7: like religiously every year just because it was fun. So
- 20:23Speaker 7: I'm not gonna say the business. I don't want to
- 20:25Speaker 7: say who they are. But there was a bank right
- 20:28Speaker 7: that went through a very big lawsuit, and it turned
- 20:31Speaker 7: out I was one of the bunch of people that
- 20:33Speaker 7: were really affected by this. And I don't exactly remember
- 20:37Speaker 7: how it worked, but it had to do with charging
- 20:42Speaker 7: you for fees that over time they were obviously charging
- 20:46Speaker 7: way too many of them away more money.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I guess than they were supposed to.
- 20:50Speaker 7: I used to receive a check from this place religiously
- 20:56Speaker 7: like every June mayish of about a one hundred and
- 21:00Speaker 7: seventy dollars.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah, for how many years? It was close to like
- 21:04Speaker 1: seven years, eight years. Oh, that's amazing. Just a random
- 21:08Speaker 1: little like I got to dinner and buy some beer
- 21:10Speaker 1: something that's on us. I like it did it was great.
- 21:14Speaker 7: That was one of the first things I think I
- 21:15Speaker 7: told you about when you were interviewing for this job,
- 21:19Speaker 7: bro the.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Way, I did not remember that.
- 21:21Speaker 7: I'm sorry, No, that's fine, because we I remember we
- 21:24Speaker 7: were joking about it and then I was like, yeah,
- 21:26Speaker 7: I think I have one of them. Sadly, I think
- 21:28Speaker 7: last year I found out they have paid their due.
- 21:31Speaker 7: Oh and no more checks for me.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I have no recollection of this.
- 21:35Speaker 5: But also I feel like when I'm in the interview process,
- 21:38Speaker 5: I black out during.
- 21:38Speaker 2: The entire thing.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Well, we were wondering from you this morning.
- 21:42Speaker 7: Here has a business ever given you money for a
- 21:46Speaker 7: screw up or a credit?
- 21:47Speaker 1: You know? Let us know?
- 21:48Speaker 7: At seven oh one two eight zero nine eight seven
- 21:51Speaker 7: there was another one I felt really bad about.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Do you have one I.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Do well because this one literally I was moving, I
- 21:58Speaker 5: guess I don't mind saying the name. I was in
- 22:01Speaker 5: a U haul moving from one house to another. This
- 22:04Speaker 5: is back in Vegas, so it's U haul of Las Vegas.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I'll throw them under the shot.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Not here, not here.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah, uh literally it caught fire. Oh, no, engine caught fire.
- 22:15Speaker 5: And so it was a whole process to get a
- 22:16Speaker 5: new check da da, And so I tweeted at them
- 22:19Speaker 5: because I wasn't getting through.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I tweeted at them and then they immediately called me
- 22:23Speaker 2: and I was like, yeah, can we just like get
- 22:25Speaker 2: our money back? Yes? And they're like, we will cover
- 22:27Speaker 2: the entire thing, thank you.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So at least they health you.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Yeah, and no one died in a weird engine fire,
- 22:33Speaker 5: so that was great.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 7: There was this one time during COVID where me and
- 22:37Speaker 7: some buddies. It was like right at the beginning, like
- 22:41Speaker 7: beginning beginning stages of COVID, we went out to breakfast
- 22:44Speaker 7: at this restaurant and then it was like a day
- 22:46Speaker 7: or two later they found out someone who worked there
- 22:48Speaker 7: had COVID and they refunded my entire forty whatever dollar meal.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Oh that's right, Well it was nice. I felt terrible
- 22:56Speaker 1: about it.
- 22:57Speaker 7: It's like, wow, you didn't make me go to this,
- 22:58Speaker 7: or like I chose to go there, right, what I'm saying.
- 23:01Speaker 7: So I always felt kind of guilty about that.
- 23:03Speaker 2: It was very nice, did they bears?
- 23:06Speaker 1: Of course?
- 23:06Speaker 7: I went and spent it on something else. Seven h
- 23:09Speaker 7: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Have you
- 23:11Speaker 7: ever been given a credit or like a payback for
- 23:15Speaker 7: a potential screw up by a business? Let us know
- 23:17Speaker 7: this morning here on Big ninety eight point seven, Today's variety,
- 23:22Speaker 7: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Who's this same? Did you ever have like a credit
- 23:26Speaker 1: o deal?
- 23:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it was kind of a big one. I got
- 23:28Speaker 3: a check in the mail for eleven thousand dollars and
- 23:31Speaker 3: I wasn't sure what it was, so I brought it
- 23:32Speaker 3: to the bank and they told me that my school,
- 23:36Speaker 3: my college that I went to, got caught lying about
- 23:39Speaker 3: their placement numbers and had to pay everybody back to
- 23:43Speaker 3: tuition fees and everything they paid for tuition. So we
- 23:47Speaker 3: went to Scotland with our eleven thousand dollars check. It
- 23:50Speaker 3: was amazing.
- 23:50Speaker 2: My favorite story I've ever heard of all time.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Well, congratulations, yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a couple of years ago. It was
- 23:59Speaker 3: fantast And.
- 24:01Speaker 7: We also have Christa on the phone here this morning. Christa,
- 24:04Speaker 7: what happened to you with getting some money back from
- 24:06Speaker 7: a business?
- 24:07Speaker 8: When I was living in the Cities, I was doing
- 24:09Speaker 8: daycare through the county for one of my friends, and
- 24:13Speaker 8: I had stopped doing it for about six months, and
- 24:16Speaker 8: then I randomly got a check and I was like oh,
- 24:19Speaker 8: And I didn't see them out or anything, but I
- 24:20Speaker 8: was reading and they're like, oh, we've underpaid you.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Listen to that.
- 24:23Speaker 8: And then I look at a check and it was
- 24:25Speaker 8: for two cents.
- 24:30Speaker 7: Don't post it, stampscosmore than you probably could have just
- 24:33Speaker 7: told them to keep it.
- 24:35Speaker 8: That's kind of what I figured.
- 24:37Speaker 2: You thought incredible, I'm like crying laughing.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Two very opposite ends of the spectrum there this morning.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Don't you tell me your full teater?
- 24:52Speaker 7: This is could almost have been a second. Am I
- 24:56Speaker 7: the problem? But do you have a fun a weird
- 25:00Speaker 7: maybe a strange food rule. This story has gone viral
- 25:04Speaker 7: online as this guy, his girlfriend, and his buddy were
- 25:09Speaker 7: out and what happened. This man knew his girlfriend was
- 25:13Speaker 7: gonna want some of his fries, and he got the fries.
- 25:17Speaker 7: Of course she asked, and he said, no, you can't
- 25:20Speaker 7: have any. So then his friend says to said girlfriend, here,
- 25:25Speaker 7: you can have some of mine. And he posted, Hey,
- 25:28Speaker 7: was I in the wrong? Was I in the right?
- 25:30Speaker 1: On this?
- 25:31Speaker 7: I'll tell you what right now. It can be annoying
- 25:33Speaker 7: every time you go out to eat and your significant
- 25:37Speaker 7: other wants a bite of your food, because guys do
- 25:39Speaker 7: this too. Guys all time to be like, oh I
- 25:41Speaker 7: don't really want this, I want this, but I want
- 25:43Speaker 7: to try some of that.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It's not just girls who do this. It can be
- 25:46Speaker 1: very annoying.
- 25:48Speaker 5: I am with the boyfriend who didn't want to share.
- 25:51Speaker 5: I don't share food. I'm like Joey on friends Joey
- 25:54Speaker 5: on friends when he goes, Joey doesn't share food. That's
- 25:58Speaker 5: me Angie doesn't share food. If we're going out to
- 26:00Speaker 5: eat and I order something, it's because I want to
- 26:04Speaker 5: eat it.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I want to eat the whole thing.
- 26:06Speaker 5: So if you want what I have, then order that yourself,
- 26:11Speaker 5: because I don't want what you have.
- 26:12Speaker 2: That's why I'm ordering what I want. So I know.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I don't like to share.
- 26:16Speaker 5: And so anytime, I mean, Mikey knows this by now
- 26:20Speaker 5: when we got to eat, what we're not gonna do
- 26:23Speaker 5: is be like, you get this and I'll get this,
- 26:25Speaker 5: and then we'll share. No, absolutely not get your own
- 26:28Speaker 5: whole ding. I also eat a lot at what in
- 26:31Speaker 5: one sitting. Sure, so it's not I'm not someone who
- 26:34Speaker 5: like can just pick off the No, I want my
- 26:36Speaker 5: whole meal, and so no, I don't share, And if
- 26:39Speaker 5: you want something, just order it.
- 26:41Speaker 2: I don't understand the problem.
- 26:43Speaker 7: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 26:45Speaker 7: Do you have any interesting food rules like this?
- 26:48Speaker 1: Now?
- 26:48Speaker 7: I don't have rules in regards to like sharing or not.
- 26:52Speaker 7: Ninety percent of the time, I mean so often Corey
- 26:56Speaker 7: and I will go out to eat, she will order
- 26:58Speaker 7: way more food than she can eat, and then we
- 27:00Speaker 7: bring her leftovers home, and after like a day, she
- 27:03Speaker 7: doesn't want them, so then I basically get two meals.
- 27:06Speaker 7: It's oh, that's nice. It's actually a great perk of
- 27:10Speaker 7: being Corey's hubby.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I love that.
- 27:12Speaker 7: But I do have an interesting food rule that I
- 27:14Speaker 7: don't know if anyone would agree with necessarily. Let's say,
- 27:18Speaker 7: for example, there is something I really want on the menu.
- 27:21Speaker 7: It is a tried and true favorite.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Okay, So if you go to Unhinged and you get the.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Chicken wings, and I get this is exactly right.
- 27:30Speaker 7: If I go to Unhinged, I'm like, you know what,
- 27:32Speaker 7: I really want these chicken wings because I know they're good.
- 27:35Speaker 7: I'm going to be jacked to eat these. Yeah, but
- 27:37Speaker 7: there's something else on the menu that catches my eye
- 27:40Speaker 7: a little bit. I'm like, oh, this could be worth it. Okay,
- 27:43Speaker 7: I will just order both things. Okay. I don't care
- 27:47Speaker 7: because if the other thing turns out to not be
- 27:50Speaker 7: great that I don't know, or if it's.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Like it doesn't hit the spot the way you.
- 27:54Speaker 7: Say exactly, I always have old faithful Unhinged. Here's another one, McDonald's.
- 27:59Speaker 7: I'm there for breakfast, right. I never am McDonald's on
- 28:03Speaker 7: time to get breakfast.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Okay, no matter what.
- 28:06Speaker 7: I will get a sausag jag McMuffin because they are
- 28:09Speaker 7: that good. But if something on the menu, I'm like, oh,
- 28:11Speaker 7: that looks kind of nice, like I should try that.
- 28:14Speaker 7: I'll just get both things.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I really love this energy. This is like boss energy.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I like that.
- 28:19Speaker 7: Just get both meals. I don't care. I'll bring them home.
- 28:23Speaker 7: I'll pay the extra twenty bucks. So that's kind of
- 28:25Speaker 7: my weird rule. And Corey usually is pretty cool with it.
- 28:28Speaker 7: She doesn't have too much.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Of any I really like that, and I feel like
- 28:31Speaker 2: I need to adopt that.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Tracy, do you have a food rule?
- 28:34Speaker 8: If I can make it better at home, then I'm
- 28:37Speaker 8: not ordering it.
- 28:38Speaker 5: No plane pasta, no basic chickens, no regret.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I kind of like this as someone who can't really cook.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Great.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I don't know your life, girl, all right, what about you?
- 28:49Speaker 1: Tom? Do you have a food rule?
- 28:50Speaker 3: With my kids, they'll take two bites and then they're gone.
- 28:53Speaker 3: My rule is that we take everything home if you
- 28:55Speaker 3: don't finish it, so nothing goes to waste.
- 28:57Speaker 7: I love this as well. You can't waste left you
- 29:00Speaker 7: never know what you need for lunch the next day. Sure,
- 29:02Speaker 7: on the way, we've got teddy swims. We also have
- 29:05Speaker 7: the tea coming up. Let us know. Do you have
- 29:06Speaker 7: a fun unique kind of food? Roll seven oh one
- 29:09Speaker 7: two eight zero one seven.
- 29:14Speaker 5: This new trend is actually productive. There are always new
- 29:19Speaker 5: trends that are usually some stupid.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Challenge or some funny thing.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, this is a trend that will actually help
- 29:28Speaker 5: your life. And I'm saying right now, I need I
- 29:32Speaker 5: need to rally together with some other people who are
- 29:34Speaker 5: in the same boat, because this trend is gonna make
- 29:38Speaker 5: me be a better person. There's something called admin night
- 29:42Speaker 5: where you get your friends together and you're not partying.
- 29:47Speaker 5: You're doing all the admin type stuff in your life
- 29:50Speaker 5: that you've been putting up.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah, administrative stuff.
- 29:53Speaker 5: So if you've got bills that you need to like
- 29:57Speaker 5: get in order and pay the bills, if you've got
- 30:00Speaker 5: i mean it's coming up, taxes, if you need to
- 30:02Speaker 5: do your taxes, if you need to sit down and
- 30:05Speaker 5: really like buckle down and do all of the paperwork
- 30:08Speaker 5: things that you have been putting off. Admin night is
- 30:12Speaker 5: for you. You get all your friends together that have this
- 30:14Speaker 5: that or the other that they need to accomplish, but
- 30:17Speaker 5: they've been putting off. You bring all of your paperwork
- 30:20Speaker 5: and you hang out together and just get stuff done.
- 30:24Speaker 5: And I think that that's exactly what I need because
- 30:27Speaker 5: there's something in I forget the psychology about it. But
- 30:30Speaker 5: if you're seeing other people be responsible and you're around them,
- 30:34Speaker 5: then you're more likely to be responsible.
- 30:37Speaker 2: And so I'm not inviting you to the admin night game.
- 30:41Speaker 7: I would hate admin night because, strangely enough, I love
- 30:47Speaker 7: doing my taxes. It is so satisfying to get your
- 30:53Speaker 7: taxes done and then you just you know, you get
- 30:55Speaker 7: to see how it's like a little challenge. Ah you did, I.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Oh, I love these things.
- 31:03Speaker 2: But you like to do that solo.
- 31:05Speaker 6: You know.
- 31:05Speaker 7: I don't want to hear about your struggles. Okay, with
- 31:08Speaker 7: your I'm dealing with this myself.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Well, exactly why I wouldn't invite you to adminnight. I
- 31:16Speaker 5: have to do my taxes. I have Oh this is
- 31:19Speaker 5: the story for another day. But I got sued by
- 31:21Speaker 5: a credit card company, and there are like steps that
- 31:24Speaker 5: I need to take with that.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Honestly, just balancing my check book.
- 31:30Speaker 5: There's a lot of like little administrative things that I
- 31:32Speaker 5: keep putting off because I don't feel like doing it.
- 31:36Speaker 5: And I think if I were with a group of
- 31:37Speaker 5: people who also needed to get things done, I could
