- 0:00Because fuck you, that's why, is a founding member of the Odd Pods
- 0:03Media Network. Hello one and all, and welcome to episode one sixty seven
- 0:41of BFY t W DAN and as it is June one, as of the
- 0:49release of this recording National Game Show Day, it seemed only appropriate to have
- 0:54a game show themed episode. Awesome, but we kind of had already scheduled
- 0:59a Marvel themed episode, so kind of a weird predicament here, but we
- 1:04decided, what the hell, let's make it a Marvel game show episode.
- 1:08Yes, hell, yeah, I'm in, And let's invite the two people
- 1:11I most associate with Marvel um, the two of the Ultra Hope Girls,
- 1:19which which you know, yeah, at first glance, you may not go
- 1:25that's everybody's first choice. But as long as I've been a part of the
- 1:30Ultra Girls discord for for a while now, Marin has been running every week
- 1:34a Marin's Marvel Movie Night and also been like one of my favorite things,
- 1:40genuinely. Uh. And of course, Caroline Voice, actress extraordinary that she
- 1:47is, just released the news that she has she is playing a starring role
- 1:53in the Marvel Move app. Yes, that's awesome, Holy Craft, that's
- 1:59cool jes. So in a way, I consider them Marvel Royalty. Okay,
- 2:05okay, yeah, at least from my point of view, they are
- 2:10connected. So we're gonna hang out and have some fun playing some game show
- 2:15themed games all about Marvel and U. And as we have been doing lately,
- 2:22we've been having you know, our guests face off against the dream Team
- 2:25over here of Andie and they dream of winning someday, yea someday, And
- 2:32so we're gonna have the Ultro Girls teaming up against them. And uh,
- 2:38let's get started with Maren. Hi, Maren, how are you doing?
- 2:42Hello? I'm grand yes for asking, So, yeah, no, I'm
- 2:46so happy to have you. Um, there's just one thing I actually owe
- 2:49you, something of an apology. Um, now you are. You probably
- 2:53weren't expecting this, but the last episode we did with one of the Ultro
- 2:58Hope girls, we had Caroline on for a Buffy episode and we surprised her
- 3:00with her own jingle, and so I really wanted to do the same thing
- 3:05for you. But when I asked Mexican if he could help me out,
- 3:08he said no. So I'm like, Okay, I could make it myself,
- 3:14and I know what it's going to turn out to be, and so
- 3:17I didn't wind up doing that. So I decided what I decided in all
- 3:23fairness, the best thing to do was to ask somebody else to make it.
- 3:28Oh, he hit it be her friendship rocks and so does Yah.
- 3:46Yeah, it's bring the Old Temners. It's maryon the Old Semonders. Yeah,
- 3:58thank you, Cleanlan, Thank gosh. I will need a sound biten
- 4:12every time I walk into work at your own copy of that to do with
- 4:17whatever. I'm super glad you like it. Um. So, by way
- 4:26of introduction on our show, we always ask a question, and of course,
- 4:29because this is a Marvel episode, the question I've decided to ask is
- 4:31what is your favorite Marvel thing? And why marin my favorite Marvel thing?
- 4:39Um? Right now I would have to say, is it okay if it's
- 4:44a spoiler? Are we like assuming that everyone is Marvel? Yeah? Yeah,
- 4:51here's your PSA. This is a spoiler. There are going to be
- 4:57some spoilers. You're all fault if you keep listening. Don't stop listening,
- 5:03Stone, this is a spoiler for Spider Man No Way Home. So do
- 5:12you like that movie? And you haven't seen it, but you think you'll
- 5:15like it skip forward, but um, it's when all three Spider Man come
- 5:21together and just like their interaction is just like the writing is superb. And
- 5:27then that's probably my favorite Marble moment. Very cool. Yeah, that movie
- 5:31hit me hard. When Garfield, I think it was Garfield caught her Holy
- 5:35crap. I started crying because like, oh yeah, dude lost you know,
- 5:41yeah, it's said yeah, I get said oh sorry. One thing
- 5:45I forgot to mention that I meant to, uh, is that I to
- 5:48to get get your thing made a went on fiber and the gentleman who created
- 5:53the music at least did the instruments as a gentleman by the name of Cracked
- 5:57Prism, Thank you so much, really rocked my side ton. He sent
- 6:00me that and I was like, this is perfect. Yeah, but the
- 6:03lyrics and singing we're all me moving on, I'm sure and it was fantastic
- 6:11rocks uh And of course the voice a voice of marvel move uh and my
- 6:19dear dear friend Caroline Hi, Caroline Hi, Aaron and Stevie an Aggie good
- 6:27good marvelous so without marvelous sorry yea literally, um, without giving anything away
- 6:35that you are ndaid, what is your favorite Marvel thing and why, um,
- 6:43I have only seen four Marvel properties, um, which is iconic.
- 6:51But I think my favorite honestly, and it's because like when people recommended it
- 6:56to me, they were like, if you don't like Marvel, or like,
- 6:59no, I don't want to say I don't like Marble, but like
- 7:00superhero movies are not my number one thing I go to watch, right,
- 7:03so, but they were like, you will really love this because it like
- 7:06combines like things that you love, which for me is like history and comedy.
- 7:11And so my favorite is WandaVision easily. I mean it is like absolutely
- 7:15fantastic that Oh my god, that show. But I gotta give an honorable
- 7:19mention to what I used to have my parents, Like we had the old
- 7:24Spider Man cartoons on DVD, like the ones from like the sixties, like
- 7:28the really old ones, and I used to watch those all the time.
- 7:31So I know a lot about Spider Man. But old Spider Man, okay,
- 7:36yeah, that makem in handy. And I forgot one more thing.
- 7:40The reason we may marry in her own jingles so we could play everybody's So
- 7:44Caroline, here's yours. She was dancing drew In as a team. Now
- 7:53she's a literary queen. Pronope, it's like watching Marion like ingest that this
- 8:09is my favorite thing. I wish everyone had a jingle. You've learned so
- 8:13much about them so fast. Well, let's meet the other team's starting with.
- 8:20He's a gamer and a storyteller, and he used to be my youngest
- 8:22friend and now he's just a friend. It's just the bump next to him.
- 8:31He's a gas so smooth. For clarity's sake, I'd like to point
- 8:52out that now that I've been working a bit more, that second half is
- 8:56a little less true. I am not getting picked every time I'm away.
- 9:00I should not. Yes, I'd like to keep your job. Uh aug
- 9:05the same question, what is your favorite Marvel thing? Oh man, it's
- 9:09got to be the music, dude, Like, especially if there are orchestral
- 9:11stuff like see that's not an answer expected it, but like it really hits
- 9:16home a lot of the scenes, and the music can really make a scene,
- 9:20like I think endgame, like you think of that that big scene at
- 9:24the end, Like if that music didn't hit right, no one would care.
- 9:31I don't know. There's a lot going on, and that's but that
- 9:35music though alone, like you could listen to that I have, that's its
- 9:39own. That's yeah, you know, it must be exciting. I think.
- 9:45No, they kill it with the soundtracks. Absolutely. Uh. And
- 9:48finally, he's a veteran and a podcaster, and as it turns out,
- 9:52a veteran podcaster. It's Stevie's ste I wondered that badge of honor. I
- 10:03don't care fucking weird shit. I don't really don't care. That's fair,
- 10:07that's fair. And Stevie, finally your favorite Marvel thing, my favorite Marvel
- 10:15thing, batman. Wait a minute, this is actually hard because Augie kind
- 10:22of took mine. I was actually gonna go back with the Marvels using all
- 10:28this nostalgia music, specifically in like Guardians and One, and the soundtracks they
- 10:33are using are impacting the movie in a way I didn't think they really would,
- 10:37and they are, and they're touching me more than I expected to get
- 10:39touched. Yeah you heard me. Um. Now the other thing, since
- 10:43he took music, I'm going to change my answer to Marvel. What I'm
- 10:50really loving about Marvel is they're making me care about characters I didn't either know
- 10:52about or care about previously. So like Guardians of the Galaxy. Yeah,
- 10:58I knew shit about I knew Rocket rec He's the only one I knew because
- 11:01I had one. I had a toy. That's it. I didn't know
- 11:05what the fuck artiens of the Galaxy was, you know, I never knew
- 11:07any of it and actually care enough to like watch this aunt Man. I
- 11:11didn't care about aunt Man at Allies are great, but yeah you get mister
- 11:16magic guys in there and mister mister Yeah, oh my god, dude,
- 11:24like so dude drinks like blood or something. Because I know he's got a
- 11:28fan player. I wish he'd embrace me. All right, all right,
- 11:33let's move on. We're never gonna finish this episode. Lastly, it's me
- 11:37your host pants Sara, and I have my own jingle two Rick some Stars
- 11:52for a later two good stuff. I'm gonna start doing little dances every time
- 11:58we do songs that allah blah blah. Yeah it's distracting for anyone. Yeah,
- 12:05yeah, it's it's delightful. Yeah, um, I am torn.
- 12:11I have like two that I could go with for my favorite Marvel thing.
- 12:16One I think I absolutely is one of them. At least One of my
- 12:20favorite things is sharing it with people like The reason I love the Marvel Movie
- 12:24Night is because we sit around and we crack jokes and point out things,
- 12:28and we all change our nicknames in the server every time a new movie comes
- 12:31along, and we just didn't vent a new meme on the spot. And
- 12:35it's so much fun, cool, and I of course while sitting down and
- 12:39watching it with people in person, of course, which I have done with
- 12:41my friends on a couple of occasions. But the other thing that that stuck
- 12:46with me, like long after it was over, is like the moment in
- 12:50Endgame when Captain America picks up me ol Near because it's literally the perfect time
- 12:56for him to do it because he's literally facing Thanos alone, and it was
- 13:01so huge, and the pop in the theater theaters. Yea, the pop
- 13:05in the theater was enormous, Like my ears were in pain from the noise
- 13:11of people losing their minds. Yeah, I'll think about that, man,
- 13:13when you saw that, And I thought it was Civil War in the comic.
- 13:16I could be wrong. I can't remeber which comic it was. But
- 13:18when he picked up the hammer that first time, is like, what the
- 13:22hell, holy crap? This? Yes? Do it hit somebody with it?
- 13:30Yes? Random violence. Exactly what shall we get into some games?
- 13:35Yes? Yes, okay, So as I said, this is this is
- 13:39National Game Show Day, June first, So our first game is going to
- 13:43be the cost is correct? What I am going to describe eight Marvel collectibles
- 13:48of all kinds, and our players are gonna bid on what they think the
- 13:52item in question last sold for at auction, the player closest to the actual
- 13:58price without going over when the particular item, and the team that has the
- 14:01most items at the end of the game wins and earns one episode point.
- 14:07So you're each individually going to make your own bid. Whichever player wins it
- 14:11wins it for their team. Cool, and we're going to staggner the order
- 14:15and we're going to uh circulate them so that nobody's always first, nobody's always
- 14:20last. Oh that's a good idea. Yeah. Any questions when we bet
- 14:24on the item and we get it correct, because Caroline and I will be
- 14:28doing that right obviously. Yea. I mean when can we expect that the
- 14:35item will arrive to our homes? Oh? Anywhere between five and thirty billion
- 14:41business days, don't count the weekends, and true, that is true.
- 14:50Are we ready to get started. Oh yeah, your first item of for
- 14:56bids is this lovely Doctor Strange Funko pop feature Freddie Funko as Doctor Strange.
- 15:01This collectible was exclusive to San Diego Comic Con from twenty seventeen and has been
- 15:07independently verified to be in mint condition. And as always, this item goes
- 15:11to the one of you bids closest to the final auction price of this item
- 15:13without going over. And Maren, We're gonna start with you for the first
- 15:18bid. What do you think? Um? Limited edition Funko pops go for
- 15:24quite a bit, especially in mint. Um. Hm, I'm gonna say
- 15:33twelve hundred dollars. Twelve hundred says Marion Stevie. And I like that.
- 15:39And you said he is twenty seventeen Comic Con, Yes, correct, exclusive
- 15:45See I spent how much on mine? So I'm gonna go a little higher.
- 15:50And I'm gonna say it was closer to eighteen ninety nine. Eighteen ninety
- 15:54nine, says Stevie. Caroline, what do you bid? I'm gonna go
- 16:00with, like, oh man, this is tough because like it is like
- 16:06hard to you know, do do wait? Can I ask a question if
- 16:10you know the answer? How many made. I don't know the answer to
- 16:14that. Okay, Um, how many were made? Good question? No,
- 16:18good question? Yeah, yeah, I'm just curious. Um, I'm
- 16:21gonna go with sixteen hundred. Sixteen hundred, says Caroline. Lastly, it's
- 16:26Augie. Do you bed sir? I you can't bed zero like cheating?
- 16:38No, what do you mean cheating? Nobody heard anything on this podcast.
- 16:44There's no rule that says you can't confer, but you probably shouldn't. Okay,
- 16:48come up with it on your own. I'm gonna come up with it.
- 16:55I honestly think it actually goes for more, Okay, like I'm thinking
- 16:57closer to like three grand? All right? So is that gonna be your
- 17:00bid? Three grand? All right? I already the high number eighteen ninety
- 17:07nine, but any of the higher price is right. Yo. Today we
- 17:14learned Agie doesn't know how the prices the way it works, it's in fact
- 17:21effectively the same bit. Yes. Um. The actual final auction price of
- 17:26this item was thirteen hundred and seventy six dollars. Marin wins, Yes,
- 17:33my love, well done. We got several more to get through. So
- 17:37here's item number two, our second item. Do you feel like a winner.
- 17:44It's a good start. Our second item of for bids is the arc
- 17:47reactor from the first Iron Man movie. En cased in glass. This item
- 17:51is surrounded by a plaque reading proof that Tony Stark has a heart. It
- 17:55slowly pulses with light and is signed by Robert Downey Junior himself, who added,
- 18:00I love you three thousand. This can be yours if the cost is
- 18:03correct, and Stevie, we're gonna start with you. This time's fucked up.
- 18:07Who's three thousands? That the person who got the win on the bid?
- 18:10No, it's something. Oh I love you three thousand if you watch
- 18:17that film? Yeah, ok, everybody has right. Yeah. So the
- 18:23glowing light, Um, I'm gonna say huh. And it was signed by
- 18:29Dude Man from Dude Show. Um, I'm gonna go with this isn't gonna
- 18:36be higher than the other one. I'm gonna go with twenty four ninety three.
- 18:41Twenty four ninety three, says Stevie. Odd number, but sure enough.
- 18:44Yeah, Caroline, to your turn. What do you bid? Okay,
- 18:48I think it's way higher than that, honestly, because this is like
- 18:52the only thing of it that exists on earth. Ever, so I'm gonna
- 18:56go, Man, this is hard. I'm I'm gonna go with like ninety
- 19:03three thousand dollars. Ninety three thousand dollars. Yeah, Aggie, what do
- 19:08you think? Oh god, ninety three is like close is basically what I
- 19:17was thinking as well. Oh, man might be Uh No, I think
- 19:22I'll go lower. I think I was nine thousand, nine thousand, says
- 19:29Aggie. And finally, Marin, what do you think? Um? I
- 19:33quite agree with Caroline. Um. But to prove that I do know how
- 19:40the princess works, Um, I'll go under her. Let's see it.
- 19:45We'll do eighteen thousand, eighteen thousand, says Marin. I'll get nervous like
- 19:55I'm actually winning something. The actual final auction of the arch Reactor is seven
- 20:02thousand, one hundred dollars. Stevie wins the item. Oh my god,
- 20:06that's it's your dumb nerds. You should have paid more. I was expecting,
- 20:14like, you know, at least five digits. All right, let's
- 20:17move on item number three. Our third item up for bids is this beautiful
- 20:22iron Man helmet produced by Hasbro. This helmet was taken out of the box
- 20:26exactly once so it could be signed by stan Lee, accompanied by a CoA
- 20:33j S A certificate of authentication. This collectible can be or is if the
- 20:37cost is correct, and we start again with Caroline. Yeah. So the
- 20:41interesting thing about this is, obviously now stan Lee has passed away, but
- 20:45before he did, it was not that hard to get to go to a
- 20:49convention where he was at. I mean, he was at everything, which
- 20:52is like awesome. You know, I'm really grateful he like loved his people
- 20:57absolutely, but gentleman. Because of that, and because he didn't pass away
- 21:03that long ago, I think it's gonna be like two hundred and fifty dollars
- 21:11to fifty, says Caroline. Aggie, what do you think two fifty?
- 21:17Man? Ah, honestly, I'm thinking higher than that two sixty okay,
- 21:32yeah, not making any friends partner play your bid I'm gonna go eight hundred,
- 21:48eight hundred, says Marin And finally Stevie he said, hasbro right,
- 21:53So it's not like metal, it's plastic no, okay, Like I can
- 21:57make one of my three printers of these times, so they're like five blocks.
- 22:00Right, Um, I'm gonna go with but it's signed by yeahin him
- 22:07nine hundred and ten says Stevie. Yeah, all right. The actual final
- 22:14cost at retail of this item is eight ninety nine. Oh yes, yes,
- 22:22I didn't do it. If you'd cut it a little closer, it's
- 22:27all good. God, I didn't want to be a total day. All
- 22:30right, Well there's there's there's five more items, so there's plenty of time.
- 22:34Our fourth item up Probids is this fun replica of the Infinity Gauntlet.
- 22:38This wearable toy allows you to snap most of your friends out of existence just
- 22:42by being dorky enough to buy it. But to sweeten the pot, this
- 22:47particular collectible has been signed by Josh Brolin Thanos himself and comes with a certificate
- 22:52authenticity. And we're gonna start with Augie this time. What was that first
- 22:57sentence? So sorry? This fun? This was this fun replica of like,
- 23:03hey, guys, guess what fuck you gone? Who's going stepping friends
- 23:11alley? That would be so baller though, to like wear that around and
- 23:15then anytime anything bothers you, you're just like that. You would be gone,
- 23:22Yeah, I need a bid. I had to google what that was,
- 23:26Aggie. BID's fifteen hundred. Okay, it would be like, why'd
- 23:32you waste your money, but not enough where you're it's a fucking toy,
- 23:37right, How much should he say? I missed d fifteen hundred? Okay,
- 23:42Um, good, I'm gonna go hmmm four hundred and fifty dollars four
- 23:52hundred and fifty says Mirren Stevie. Rap, you can't bid that. I
- 24:00was gonna bid four twenty, but now I don't have a big enough window.
- 24:04Um. I mean you could still do fourteen twenty, but you'd be
- 24:07just under I know. And it's I've been there before. Signed autographed by
- 24:17Josh Brolin Fanos himself. Mister snappy okay, um, Josh Grobin. I
- 24:26think it's slow what you have, but I think it's higher than once.
- 24:29Yes, I'm gonna go five hundred five hundred, just overcuts Marion. And
- 24:33finally Caroline, what would you like to bid? Mmmmm I am gonna go
- 24:40with mm hmmmm. I realize Marion. Let's confer a little bit here.
- 24:48This is like a glove, right, it like goes on your hand?
- 24:52Yeah? Okay, Tom? And uh would it be would it be like
- 24:57strategically better if I did in the middle of Aggie and Stevie, or if
- 25:00I went above Aggie. Your basket would be to say five hundred and one,
- 25:07and then you've covered in between Stevie and Aggie. But that would also
- 25:11be a ruder move to do so, right, Okay, so for the
- 25:15sake of being kind, I'll do five hundred and two. Let's just I
- 25:22mean, let's bask in Caroline's kindness. I appreciate that, giving Stevie,
- 25:30giving Stevie. Oh, that's how to have a buffer. Yea, And
- 25:37yeah, it was exactly the right move. It's five eighty five. Given
- 25:44one of those gloves, so I can smash something. What is it for?
- 25:48It's got all these stones in it and they control basically everything. And
- 25:53in one of the movies, this guy who wears the glove, he snaps
- 25:56his fingers and kills half of the Earth's Population's wow, that is a big
- 26:03It's a bit bigger than that. It's half of the universe's population. Whoa,
- 26:07okay, wow, literally fifty percent of all life. I said the
- 26:10us because I didn't mean that, said you said he, You simply said
- 26:15her. That's right. Problem, I mean getting rid of fifty percent kind
- 26:25of a dream. At this point, let's I don't care anymore. Let's
- 26:30stand. It did not take long to turn though he was already on the
- 26:38watch list. He just went up, Oh God, let's move on.
- 26:45It's true. It's time for our fifth item. And our fifth item up
- 26:48for bids is this fabulous signed trading card. This one division trading card features
- 26:55Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda maxim Off and is signed by Elizabeth herself. Graded at
- 27:00a nine out of ten by the CGC. This mint condition collectible can be
- 27:03yours if the cost is correct. And we're gonna start back with Marion.
- 27:07Marion your first step. Hmm. This sounds tough, um because it's a
- 27:15card, but people can get pretty pretty into collecting cards. That's um,
- 27:22that's something that happens. Um. I'm gonna say, like seven hundred and
- 27:32twenty dollars. Seven hundred and twenty dollars, says Marion Stevie. Okay,
- 27:37is this when she is in the Dick van Dyke episode. I don't know.
- 27:41The picture actually shows her in a Halloween costume of the Scarlett Witch.
- 27:45M hmm. Interesting that changes everything. I love Dick Van Dyke and you
- 27:52know i'd watch. Um, I think we're gonna go you at seven twenty
- 27:56I'm gonna go that it went lower than that, and I'm gonna say three
- 28:02ten. I don't think it's pretty easy to get Caroline, what do you
- 28:07bid? Mmm? I think that I mean, okay, back to the
- 28:12Stanley logic. Elizabeth Olsen is not someone who goes to conventions. She's better
- 28:18known for other fit like other things other than like Marvel, and so I
- 28:22almost think like that has a little more clout. I'm not sure that I
- 28:26love Stanley. I don't know. It makes me feel like it made be
- 28:30rarer that you know, you might get something signed by her. Um,
- 28:33so I would say, man, cards, That's the thing, is like
- 28:37the cards are so I don't even know the gauge. I'm kidding. I'm
- 28:41gonna go with like one thousand dollars. One thousand, says Caroline. Finally
- 28:48Augie, Wow, um shit, nine out of g yeah yeah, mint
- 28:56condition. Okay, I wonder what that one was. Um, yes,
- 29:00I imagine ten is like perfect. It was. Yeah, it was exposed
- 29:07to Eric Yeah, yeah, someone, Yeah, I looked at it.
- 29:15It was seen by humanize Okay. Um, I'm thinking closer to like eight
- 29:23fifty. Is that your bed? Yeah, I'm thinking it's around the eight
- 29:27hundred mark. All right. The actual auction price of this one division trading
- 29:33card is twenty five hundred dollars. Caroline wins the item. Nice. Yeah,
- 29:40I wish it actually did. That would be so awesome. I don't

- 31:25had further items that were really cool, but not even that cool, and
- 31:30it was pretty high. Well, I'm gonna go four hundred thousand, a
- 31:36crisp middle to all of these best hundred thousands, and you have all over
- 31:42bids. So we're gonna do this again, really blest. The lowest bid
- 31:48is sixty six thousand, six hundred and sixty six dollars. Stevie, bid
- 31:51again, and bid quickly please three thousand, two hundred, three thousand,
- 31:56two hundred Caroline ten ten thousand, even, Aggie, uh fifteen, fifteen
- 32:02thousand, even Marin forty forty thousand, thousand. Okays. The actual auction
- 32:13price of this four point five out of ten Amazing Fantasy Number fifteen is thirty
- 32:19eight thousand, seventy seven dollars. Maren just went over, Aggie, this
- 32:23is yours. Wow, damn wow, that was close. Well wow,
- 32:30all right, let's move on to our seventh item up forbids. Stunned.
- 32:36This is one of the most famous weapons in Marvel history. It's mule near.
- 32:40This actual movie prop from Thor the Dark World features a hard resin handle
- 32:45with imitation leather wrap, leather handstrap, and a dense foam hammerhead. It
- 32:51even comes with a DVD of the film. This price, this priceless item
- 32:55actually has a price, and it can be yours if you're worthy enough to
- 33:00pick it up. And Caroline, we're gonna start with you. Okay.
- 33:05I had to google that one too. And this is the real movie prop.
- 33:07Yes, and it's not signed. It is not signed, not signed.
- 33:15Okay, I have a certificate of authenticity, Yes it does. I
- 33:17believe it comes the plaque. Plaque of authenticity a little different, No,
- 33:23Okay, I am gonna go with the real deal, the real deal.
- 33:29Fifteen thousand dollars fifteen thousand. Excellent, Augie, what do you say because
- 33:34saying it's the Dark World? Five hundred dollars the shade, the shade,
- 33:45Uh, Marin, you're upe no for the plaque. The DVD that comes
- 33:53with actually devalues the item. Yeah, I like that they included the DVD.
- 33:59Is if the person fine has not seen it, you'll like this.
- 34:07That high included a nine hundred dollars nine hundred, says Marion. Finally,
- 34:15Stevie, oh uh, I will say thousand dollars. A thousand dollars.
- 34:22I'm really high here, Damn go as high as I am. Well,
- 34:27let's see how you feel about it when I tell you that the actual final
- 34:30auction price of this actual movie prop is fifty one thousand, two hundred dollars.
- 34:37Caine takes that item. Sorry for all right, We've got one left.
- 34:46Let's do it. Our final item up forbids today is this fabulous Captain
- 34:52America shield. This real prop, formerly weird wielded by Chris Evans from the
- 34:57Avengers Endgame movie, is museum quality and comes with a custom plaque and a
- 35:02letter of authenticity from Marvel Studios Prop master Russell Bobbitt and Augie, we start
- 35:09with, Oh my god, that's gonna be at least a half a million.
- 35:15Is that gonna be your bid? Yeah, five hundred thousand dollars.
- 35:20I don't have a concept, Marin, what do you bid? Um My
- 35:28mirror was fifty one, said Yepez and that was a bad move. Well
- 35:34it wasn't bad, but it was. Um say, holy Marvel guy,
- 35:42guys say one hundred thousand, one hundred thousand, says Marian Stevie. I
- 35:51don't know, but I kind of want it. Um you want a hundred?
- 35:53Damn it, you're picking my numbers. Stop. It just means you're
- 35:59in a similar way. I know. Crap, we should have the same
- 36:01team. We could lose together on U. I'm gonna go one hundred and
- 36:08one thousand. Oh, it wasn't two dollars, Caroline. It's up to
- 36:17you. You're the final better What do you say, oh man, Captain
- 36:22America shield from Avengers en game Like, I don't I've never seen a single
- 36:27Avengers um ever, but I know that's a big deal. So I'm gonna
- 36:30say five hundred and one thousand dollars, five hundred and one thousand dollars.
- 36:38It's only okay when we do it. So yeah, yeah, you haven't
- 36:46all overbids. One of you has won this uh and the actual final auction
- 36:53price of this item was two hundred and fifty nine thousand, five hundred forty
- 36:58dollars, which means Steve he wins the item, holy man, but it's
- 37:02too little, too late. The Ultrope Girls have five items to I have
- 37:08won the first game. Yea, congratulations, you are up one point to
- 37:15zero. But don't despair bfy tw boys, because anything can change. Our
- 37:22next game is going to be worth two points and it's coming up right after
- 37:24this. Hey, this is Russ, This is Kyle, this is Michelle

- 38:22It's time for round two. We're going to play quiz Ambush. Doesn't I
- 38:30feel ambush? Not related to trivia trap in anyway. I'm going to alternate
- 38:36asking the teams some very difficult Marvel trivia questions with four possible answers. However,
- 38:43I don't. I don't want you to give me the correct answer.
- 38:45Instead, you're going to eliminate incorrect answers one by one. If if you
- 38:51successfully eliminate one or two incorrect answers, you'll get that many points. But
- 38:55if you successfully eliminate all three incorrect answers, you'll get four points. Points.
- 39:00The team with the most points, the team with the most points after
- 39:04each team has tackled five questions each will win the game and earn two episode
- 39:08points. So, Stevie and Aggie, you lost the last game. You
- 39:12have the choice which team would you like to go first? The b FY
- 39:15tw Boys or the Ultra Hope Girls. Do you want to try to go
- 39:19first? You think we could do it? I believe in us I believe
- 39:22in us too, so I guess we're going girls all right? Okay,
- 39:29cool, Wow, that's the feeling of, you know, hope that you
- 39:31get right right at the end, right, actually can do? I have
- 39:35a feeling that they're whatever's gonna happen on their end is going to be spectacular.
- 39:38So let's let's build up to that, because I'd rather like not just
- 39:42have less spectacular good stuff happen and then whatever alight. Fair enough, fair
- 39:47enough, I'm just I'm just asking so you guys will face the first question.
- 39:52Okay. In the movie Captain America, the first Avenger, before Steve's
- 39:58plane plunges into the ice, where does Peggy tell him she wants to meet
- 40:01for a dance? Is it a the Blue Laglo, the Blue Lagoon,
- 40:07be the Stork Club see Club Paradiso or d Finnigan's Which incorrect answer? Do
- 40:14you want to cut? First? All as I knew is they wanted to
- 40:17go dancing. Yeah, I don't remember the rest. I don't think it
- 40:22was Finnigans. I don't think let's go with that one. Let's get rid
- 40:27of that one. You want to cut Finnigan. That is a good move.
- 40:30That is incorrect there's one point. All right, now of Blue Lagoon,
- 40:35the Stork Club and Club Paradiso. What would you like to cut next?
- 40:42I almost feel like that's the place that they go dancing at. Yeah,
- 40:45so maybe the what's the first what was the first one? Again?
- 40:50Blue Lagoon? Yeah, Blue Lagoon? Cut that one, cut the Blue
- 40:52Lagoon. Yeah, good choice. That's also incorrect. Two all right?
- 40:58For four points? Can you tell me the last incorrect answer? So one
- 41:01of these is right, one of these is wrong and needed to give me
- 41:05the wrong answer. The Stork Club or Club Parodiso, Start Club seems like
- 41:09it's something familiar. I mean, I don't know why, but what do
- 41:13you think, like, I don't think it's the Start Club. You don't,
- 41:15okay, so you think the bad answers the Start Club? Then,
- 41:19so what you're saying, I'm confused. It's not the Start Club I'm telling
- 41:22I'm saying that Paradiso is the right one. Yeah, store clubs the last
- 41:25fake one, That's what I'm saying. So we got to choose that one.
- 41:29Yes, yeah, okay, cool, the start clubs were choosing,
- 41:30you're choosing the Star Club and it's an ambush. I'm sorry. That was
- 41:35the correct answer. But that's okay. You've got two points. Okay,
- 41:38cool, Yeah, we got two points on question. Dude, we're like
- 41:42double what we normally get. Yeah, over to the Ultrape Girls and as
- 41:45you seem, feel free to confer. Okay. Ed. During the climactic
- 41:52battle of the movie Avengers of Infinity War, which child of Thanos did want
- 41:59to maximum Off kill? Is it a Proxima midnight b Corvus glave ce Ebony
- 42:06mah or d cull obsidian? Which incorrect answers? Would you like to cut
- 42:13first? Well, you repeat those names, but sure, a Proxima midnight
- 42:21b Corvus glavee c Ebony mah or d cull obsidian which child of Thanos did
- 42:28want? And Wanda Maximov kill in the movie Avengers Infinity War? And do
- 42:36you know any that are definitely wrong? Yeah, we're looking for incorrect answers
- 42:40here, arn't it by Don't the second one sounds most right to me?
- 42:50I'll be completely honest, I have no idea what the person's name is,
- 42:53but the third and fourth one sound like fake names. And I don't even
- 42:59remember what the first one was. Proxima Midnight imagine looking at your baby and
- 43:06being like Proximum a sweet child. Yeah, you're getting rid of Proxima midnight.
- 43:19Yeah, and it's an ambush. I'm sorry that. Oh my god,
- 43:22Oh my god, they actually looked at their baby. Actually, these
- 43:30are all real children of Thanos, but it's Thanos. So that's why you
- 43:35came up with the messed up names. That's kind of a messed up you
- 43:37know a little bit. Sometimes when you three D print your babies, you
- 43:42just get a little all the data transfers over ran out of a certain type
- 43:47of plastics. And for listeners who aren't members of our patriarch and you'll get
- 43:53that joke when you join our patriots. Yeah, okay, so no points,
- 44:00sadly for Marion and Caroline. But that's okay. There's plenty of questions
- 44:05left. Uh So we started with movies for our first pair of questions.
- 44:08This next pair of questions is about the comics, that's all. Here is
- 44:16your question. In the comics. Shortly after discovering his new powers, Spider
- 44:21Man defeats what heavyweight wrestling champion? Is it a George Stacey? Is it
- 44:28be Bone Saw McGraw, is it c Hector Lennox or is it D Crusher
- 44:34Hogan, I need you to cut an incorrect answer. I remember that.
- 44:43That's hard good good, good question. I went for deep people you did,
- 44:46good man. What's the first one again, George Stacey? That one
- 44:53fourth one I can't remember, so let's cut. Let's cut the second one
- 44:55out. You want to cut bone Saw McGraw. Yeah, and that's a
- 45:00good choice. That's an incorrect answer. So Bonam is gone, So that
- 45:05just leaves George Stacey. I thought that was it. I think for the
- 45:07movie and Crusher Hogan. Yeah, this is specifically the comics. Yeah,
- 45:13Stevie, I'm maddie. What would you like to cut next? The third
- 45:21one? Hector Lennox, Yes, you're in agreement. Yeah, all right,
- 45:25a good choice. That's another incorrect answer. It's another point. Cool,
- 45:29cool, cool, all right. So it's down to George Stacy and
- 45:31Crusher Hogan. If you can give me the last incorrect answer, it's worth
- 45:36two points. Both of those names fell familiar, and it's really driving me.
- 45:39I know, all right, and I don't know. They're just from
- 45:40two different comics. There, he's like one of them. He probably fought
- 45:45like after the Factor some shit, and that's why you recognize it. Um,
- 45:52let's get rid of the first one you want to cut. George Stacy,
- 45:55Yeah, I gotta go with his gut it I got no point,
- 46:00all right, George Stacy, it is and that's right. That's another incorrect
- 46:06answer, so you get the full four points. Wow, well done go
- 46:10comic nerdrec answer. The correct answer was crusher Hogan, So well done.
- 46:19Avoiding that, let's move on to question number four. This is for the
- 46:22Ultra Hope Girls. What borough of New York City was Steve Rogers born in
- 46:28according to the comics. Is it a Brooklyn, be the Bronx, see
- 46:34Manhattan or d Queens? Who is Steve Rogers heron? Captain America? Got
- 46:40it? Okay, this is really know him by his name, Captain America.
- 46:54Um, so we got okay, what were the option Brooklyn the Bronze,
- 47:00Manhattan, man and Queens? Yea, I need an incorrect answer.
- 47:05Okay, here's what I'm gonna Here's my first, like instant thought. Unless
- 47:07you have thought like you probably know more than me. But here's my first
- 47:12instant thought. Manhattan. It's a little bougie. So if he has more
- 47:15of like a tragic backstory, I would say it's definitely not Manhattan ire.
- 47:22He doesn't give Manhattan vibes to me. Watchul literally be Manhattan. We're like,
- 47:30yeah, I'm gonna question Marin is Captain America. I'm assuming no,
- 47:37just because of like when he was originally created. But is he Jewish?
- 47:43I don't believe. So, okay, I got him. So he's not
- 47:47really poor necessarily in the movies. He is just like a smaller guy and
- 47:53so like he like wants to fight for his country, but like he's not
- 47:59like physically up to the standards, and so they don't bring up his like
- 48:05secondary question, what year do like time period is his childhood? Nine?
- 48:14H Well, he fought in World War Two, so nineteen twenties to thirties.
- 48:24Okay. So here's the other thing I'm thinking here. Brooklyn was a
- 48:29huge, like um like immigration spot for a lot of like Yiddish people,
- 48:36and so that's also something I'm thinking of as well. M m. But
- 48:40it could just be Brooklyn. I don't know. Let's go with Manhattan first.
- 48:44I'm sorry now I'm just like overthinking your first incorrect answer, cut is
- 48:50Manhattanhattan? It's an ambush that, oh my god answer. I can't give
- 49:00you any points. I'm sorry. Yes, in the movie he was born
- 49:04in Brooklyn, but in the comics it's Manhattan. Oh I wonder, I
- 49:12wonder if they specify just to kind of give him a bit more character.
- 49:15I don't know, could be. In any event, we're gonna move on
- 49:17to our next set of questions. These questions are about toys and games.
- 49:22Oh sweet, I like games. So Stevie and Aggie, here's your first
- 49:25question, while here's question number three for you. Which of the following board
- 49:30games has never had a Marvel themed version. Is it a Clue, B,
- 49:38Candyland, C Connect four, or D Shoots and Ladders. I'm pretty
- 49:45sure there's a candy Land one. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Okay,
- 49:50Well, then the clue that the first thing I don't think, so let's
- 49:58go with that. Let's get rid of that one one first, one clue.
- 50:00You're getting rid of a clue. So you're saying there has been a
- 50:02Marvel clue. What the correct answer this question, the one you want to
- 50:07avoid, is the one that has never been a Marvel board game. Opposite,
- 50:15three of these have been Marvel board games, one of them has not.
- 50:20You need to cut the ones that have been Marvel board. I know,
- 50:23I apologize I put a negative in the question and then ask you to
- 50:28give me the wrong answer. Technically that's on me. But you know what,
- 50:31actually in that case, then we do know those one for candy Lane
- 50:35or you believe so I think there's one for Candylan. Okay, then that
- 50:38would be one that is you want to cut candy Land because that was a
- 50:43board game. Man, you need to hear it from you. You're gonna
- 50:45cut candy Land. Yes, thank you, it's an ambush. That's the
- 50:50correct answer. There has never gotten been a Marvel candy Land. There has
- 50:54been a Marvel clue, there has been a connect for and there's been a
- 50:59Spider Man theme shoots and Ladders. There has never been, as far as
- 51:04I was able to find, there has never been a Marvel theme Candyland.
- 51:07So if you love Spider Man shoots and Ladders, I feel like that that's
- 51:09a really good idea Spider Man. So I hate that if we went with
- 51:16my first gut action, we'd be right for the wrong reason. Right,
- 51:21Yeah, the next one, the next Let's swing back over to the Ultrope
- 51:25girls, Mary Marrin and Caroline. This is for you, which of the
- 51:29following video game franchises has shipped the fewest copies according to Video Game Charts dot
- 51:35com. Is it a Marvel spider Man beat Marvel versus Capcom? See Disney
- 51:42Infinity two point zero Marvel Superheroes or d Lego Marvel Superheroes. So the fewest,
- 51:51the fewest, the one that has shipped the fewest copies of the game.
- 51:53Okay, So here's what I will say as like a consumer. Disney
- 51:57Infinity has had a lot of push, like all the times, so I
- 52:00feel like it's not that unless you have like a strong granswer. I've been
- 52:08wrong every week in an opinion in this game, So I don't know we
- 52:13should to me no, No, it's no, it's us, Maren,
- 52:15it's us. We're both so wrong. What if it says? Okay answers?
- 52:22To make sure it's as clear for you as it was for them,
- 52:25you need to give me the three that have sold the most, right,
- 52:30So that's what I need from you. So for incorrect answers, I need
- 52:34the three that have sold the most. So where would you like? We
- 52:36got Spider Man? We got um, what's the second one? Marvel versus
- 52:38Capcom? What is Capcom? That's a big gaming publisher. They matched them
- 52:45up with a lot of different characters from both franchises, and it's a fighting
- 52:50game. Does the Infinity two point zero and Marvel Lego Marvel Lego Marvel Oh,
- 52:57that is definitely a bit franchises. Yeah, I feel like Lego franchises
- 53:00are huge. And my gut was before he said the answers, was that
- 53:07the Spider Man video games are pretty high Okay, they're pretty high grossing,
- 53:13like the ones that you can like swing around and stuff. I've seen so
- 53:15much from that, but I don't know if that's just like what I'm consuming.
- 53:20But I feel like we could start with Lego. Yeah, I would
- 53:22say probably that I love I love Lego Drassic Park in Lego um Indiana Jones,
- 53:32and Lego Star Wars. But here's the thing, is it overshadowed by
- 53:37Lego Star Wars and Lego in Dana Jones. You know what I'm saying.
- 53:42Yeah, so let's do the ones that we were talking about. The Disney
- 53:45I think Disney Infinity. Let's go with the Disney Infinity. You want to
- 53:49cut Disney Infinity, Yes, Okay, it's another ambush, that's yeah.
- 53:57I think the Affinity thing didn't do good. Yeah. The thing about the
- 54:01Disney Infinity games is they sun They sold tons and tons of toys, but
- 54:08as far as copies of the games, all the other three outsold it handily.
- 54:14I don't have the exact figures, but they are available on VG charts
- 54:16dot com. We literally if we had gotten you were talking about Spider Man
- 54:22and Lego Marvel. I'm like, yes, one of those would be great.
- 54:25But it has now been three questions. You still Mark and I are
- 54:30just so good at finding the right answer. I mean, who can blame
- 54:32us? I mean it's pretty impressive. Really, thank you. Thanks.
- 54:37Literally the odds are against us, Like, what is wrong? Yeah,
- 54:45it is incredible. Let's move on to our next set of two questions.
- 54:49These questions are about Marvel TV. So Stevie and I your question. Jessica
- 54:54Jones was an amazing show featuring an unforgettable turn by David Tennant as Hilgrave.
- 55:00But what was Kilgrave's real full name? Is it A Kevin Thompson, B
- 55:07Malcolm Ducass see Lawrence Kilgrave or is it d Alex Sokolov? I don't remember
- 55:17that. That was like five years ago, man, I need your first
- 55:22incorrect answer, please? Yeah, what would you like to cut? No?
- 55:30Okay, the last one Alex Sokolov, Yeah, sure you're gonna go
- 55:35with that. Yeah. Sure, that's a point that is incorrect. Well
- 55:38done, it's all right. So now you're least Kevin Thompson, Malcolm Ducass,
- 55:44and Lawrence Kilgrave. The second one Malcolm Ducass Malcolm malcol Yeah, are
- 56:00you sure? Okay? Oh do you? I don't think so. I
- 56:04think I think the third one because that's just his name again, Okay,
- 56:09we'll go that one. You think I threw that in there to fully?
- 56:14Yes? Yeah, okay, I believe it. You're right, it's an
- 56:17incorrect answer. It's another point, all right, for two to completely nail
- 56:27this question and get two more points. Which one of these is incorrect?
- 56:31Kevin Thompson or Malcolm Ducass. It's Kim it's a Marvel character. So Malcolm
- 56:39ducast sounds like a Marvel character. So I think the first one is the
- 56:43last incorrect one. Personally, we'll go with what all he says he knows
- 56:46more about Marvel than I do. So you want to watch more? You
- 56:50want to cut Kevin Thompson. Yeah, it's an ambush was the last correct
- 56:55answer. I'm afraid. Yeah. His real full name is Kevin Thomps and
- 57:00weirdly enough, hello here. All right, so Marin and Caroline's time to
- 57:07turn the scorch and around. You got this. I have faith in you.
- 57:13So in the show Loki, which of the following? Which of the
- 57:19following is not a lowkey variant that appears in the show Loki? A Alligator
- 57:27Loki, be President Loki, Ce, Frost Giant Loki, or d Snake
- 57:34Guy Loki. Three of them? No, Alligators isn't there and President isn't
- 57:39there. Okay, so we're gonna go with alligator first, Gonna cut Alligator
- 57:45Loki. Yeah, and that's an incorrect answer, earns you a point.
- 57:49You're on the board, okay. Why would you like to cut next?
- 57:52President Loki? President Loki? And you're on board, Caroline? Yeah,
- 57:55that sounds great. Okay, it's another incorrect answer in another point. Nice.
- 58:00So it's just down to Frost, Giant Loki and Snake Guy Loki.
- 58:07You want to cut the one that has appeared on the TV show Loki.
- 58:14Okay, So this one I'm less certain about Frost Giant Loki. I feel
- 58:17like is the remaining answer, like the one that didn't appear because he's like
- 58:24hal Frost Giant himself. Wait, that might be wrong. I apologize to
- 58:29any Marvel people listening, but that's what I grasped from form. And then
- 58:36the other one I feel like could be someone that showed up man Snake Man.
- 58:45I just can't remember and I don't know if I'm associating Alligata Sick Guy
- 58:52would say, is that the one I want to cut? I think,
- 58:58Yeah, are you okay with that? I have zero thought. Okay,
- 59:02okay, we'll go sneak. You're going to guy? And it's another two
- 59:07points. That was the last incorrect answer. Yes, very well done.
- 59:12Yeah, Frost Giant Loki appears in the TV show What If, but he
- 59:16doesn't appear in Loki. It's interesting. Yeah, job, all right,
- 59:24I have seen something. We are onto our last set of questions, and
- 59:29these final two questions are about Marvel fandom. Oh so, and here's your
- 59:37question. In twenty nineteen, students from an Arizona high school went viral for
- 59:43dressing up in Marvel superhero costumes and doing what a stopping a domestic abuser be
- 59:50a dance number ce rescuing a cat from a tree, or d recreating a
- 59:55fight scene from Captain America Civil War? Which incorrect answer would you like to
- 1:00:01cut? They probably danced? Right? Oh? Probably it was probably a
- 1:00:06TikTok thing. So I'm guessing the first thing that cut would be the cat
- 1:00:08in the tree. But you want to do that one first? Does it
- 1:00:14matter which one we do first? Yeah? I guess, yeah, I
- 1:00:17guess they did that, right. I don't know if it's the right answer,
- 1:00:20it matters. I mean, I've got no other other than I'm basing
- 1:00:24it off of the fact that it's a bunch of high schoolers doing shit for
- 1:00:28clouds. So TikTok is probably involved in some way, and dancing, So
- 1:00:35dancing was the first one, right, Oh my god, Stev, the
- 1:00:38cat, the cat is not the real one you want to cut? Rescuing
- 1:00:42a cat from a tree? Yes, well done. That's an incorrect answer.
- 1:00:46That's another point, all right? Uh, next one you'd like to
- 1:00:51cut, my teammate, there's there's stopping a domestic abuser, a dance number,
- 1:01:01or recreating a fight scene from Captain America Civil War. I don't think
- 1:01:06yeah, I don't think you're getting I don't think they like, can you
- 1:01:10know condone that vigilantism? Yeah, I don't think they'd be okay with I
- 1:01:16think they cut cut that one stopping a domestic abuser. Yeah, all right,
- 1:01:22it's incorrect, well done, it's not a point, all right,
- 1:01:25So you're down to a dance number and recreating a fight scene from Captain America
- 1:01:30Civil War? Which one is the last? Incorrect answer? So both of
- 1:01:34them are possible. Yeah, I think they did a dance number, but
- 1:01:37it's probably a dance number. Yeah, so probably the last thing the cut
- 1:01:43would be the fight scene. You're both in agreement. You're cutting the fight
- 1:01:45scene. Yeah, that's another two points. It's absolutely wrong. The correct
- 1:01:51answer was they did a dance number. High schoolers are predictable, do something
- 1:01:57new, all right, Well, to cut that one, I've been with
- 1:02:05us. Sounds like that's too simple. Well, you're on a roll,
- 1:02:12just not the right one. But we'll see. Here's your last question.
- 1:02:15Marin and Caroline, a six year old Marvel fan, got to visit Tom
- 1:02:20Holland on the set after he went viral for saving his sister from a dog
- 1:02:23attack. What was his comic book worthy name? Is it a Bridger?
- 1:02:30Walker, Is it B Scout Striker? Is it C Zachariah Pierce, Zachariah
- 1:02:37spelled z A K A r I A. Or is it D Martin Braver
- 1:02:43Martin spelled M A R T y N. I know there's gonna be a
- 1:02:47spelling be sorry, Okay, Bridger Bridger Walker or Scout Striker, Zachariah Pierce
- 1:03:01or Martin Braver. So, Caroline, my gut is that Martin sounds like
- 1:03:09a super villain name, true, But Braver this sounds like M like the
- 1:03:17Harry Potter quiz question. Is it a Martin Braver Scout? All right,
- 1:03:30I'm waiting, okay, So Aaron, I'm gonna need I just need to
- 1:03:32look at him visually. Okay, can you can you repeat them more time?
- 1:03:37Yeah? It's Bridger. I'm gonna look at them visually through Caroline's eyes.
- 1:03:43Spelled exactly as you'd think. Scout striker, Striker spelled with a y
- 1:03:49instead of an eye. Oh God, Zachariah Pierce z A K A R
- 1:03:54I A. And then Pierce like the word and finally I mean mart like,
- 1:04:01Yeah, that's what you've never heard the word pickers. I mean,
- 1:04:03all the words are saying a word, so it's just funny. It's just
- 1:04:06like the word Martin instead of an eye, Martin with a y instead of
- 1:04:16an eye. Braver. Yes, so all of these are very millennial parent
- 1:04:23names. Yeah, here's one observation I'm gonna make Marin scout Striker is an
- 1:04:28alliteration, agreed, so that I don't know what that says. I've never
- 1:04:33met anyone named Bridger. Bridger walker like Bridge Walker, like walker over Bridges.
- 1:04:39That doesn't sound very heroic to me, but maybe if that's his real
- 1:04:43name, I'm literally gonna eat my words. That's so terrible. Okay,
- 1:04:45Walker, it sounds like Texas Ranger from Talladaca Knights. I love how you're
- 1:04:53all just take a photo from child's name right now, Bridger Walker, Mary,
- 1:05:00I'm gonna go. I think I'm with you with Martin Braver mart Okay,
- 1:05:03yeah, right, you're gonna supervillain mart gonna cut Martin Braver. Yeah,
- 1:05:09okay, good choice. That's incorrect and earns you another point. Zachariah
- 1:05:13spelling is so specific, Yeah, because it's not biblical. It's not the
- 1:05:20biblical spelling. Yeah, why would he have specified the spelling if it was
- 1:05:28out right? So true. Well it's because yeah, right, because it
- 1:05:33could be like, we need to make sure that his name is on the
- 1:05:36record spelled correctly because he is a real life hero. You know what I'm
- 1:05:41saying. Right, so I don't know Striker with a why. But here's
- 1:05:46the thing. The fake name was Martin with a why, so it could
- 1:05:49be Striker with a why. I was like, you know, the like
- 1:05:53you know what I'm saying, I'm so doing like multiple choice question. Do
- 1:05:57you have any opinions? Man, we should cut Bridger Walker. Yeah,
- 1:06:01Bridger Walker Walker is interested in Yeah, so you're eliminating Bridger Walker. Yeah.
- 1:06:08Yes, that's an ambush. That was the answer, Bridger Walker.
- 1:06:15Bridger Walker, say, you are here out? Saved a six year old
- 1:06:17sister from a dog. You are here out, And I'm sorry I made
- 1:06:21fun of your name. Actually he was. I don't know how young the
- 1:06:25daughter was at this. Yeah. Wow, that's amazing, an amazing story.
- 1:06:31We definitely weren't making fun of your name, grandson of road Walker.
- 1:06:38But in the end it was too a little too late. Steve, you
- 1:06:43have twelve points. Oh my god, we couldn't even come back if we
- 1:06:46got him, all right, sult Marin and Caroline had five. It was
- 1:06:51a valiant attempt. But that's okay because you will get the choice of how
- 1:06:57you want to play the next game, which is important. Game three is
- 1:07:00gonna be worth three points. It's gonna be one of the teams. There's
- 1:07:02no ties today. It's by t W has two to Ultra Ope Girls one.
- 1:07:06So Game three will decide it and we'll find out who the winner is
- 1:07:11right after this. Hey, this is Grabbing the Brisket podcast. Join us

- 1:08:02Hey, welcome back. It's time for Game three. Game three is going
- 1:08:05to be card Hustlers, very similar to the game Card Charks, but legally
- 1:08:12distinct, Thank you very much. Regular listeners of the show will know it
- 1:08:15better as four out of five dentists. I'm going to ask five survey questions
- 1:08:20such as what percentage of Americans believe in ghosts, and one team will guess
- 1:08:25the exact percentage out of one hundred. Their opponents will then decide whether they
- 1:08:29think the exact answer is higher or lower. If they are correct, they
- 1:08:31win the survey, but if they're wrong, the original guessers win it.
- 1:08:35The teams will then swap roles and move on to the next survey. For
- 1:08:39this game, all the surveys are going to be Marvel themed, so the
- 1:08:43first team to win three surveys wins the game and earns three episode points.
- 1:08:47Now, Marin and Caroline, you lost last game, so you have the
- 1:08:50choice. Would you like to guess the exact percentage first? Or would you
- 1:08:55like to guess higher or lower first? Maren, let's do percentage. Yeah,
- 1:09:04I think I'm good with that too. You're gonna try guessing in percentage
- 1:09:06first, all right? In that case, here is your first survey according
- 1:09:11to a twenty twenty three, you go survey what percentage of American millennials said
- 1:09:15that they have a positive opinion of the First Avengers movie? From twenty twelve?
- 1:09:21What percentage of American millennial God, so they have a positive opinion of
- 1:09:28the First Avengers movie. It's definitely gonna be high because it's nostalgia, right,
- 1:09:32nostalgia. I think millennials. There are parts of that movie that I
- 1:09:39don't think would hit with millennial crowns or I guess maybe Why do you say
- 1:09:44that a lot of the female characters are really sexualized? Yeah, maybe really
- 1:09:51sexualized A strong I feel like Lessons over Time Baron, that feels like a
- 1:09:56gen Z more of a like gen Z. Like that's great to me.
- 1:10:00I don't know. Yeah, I've never seen that thing. They did a
- 1:10:05good job with it. I'm willing to say somewhere around like seventy percent if
- 1:10:13people liked it, somewhere, Okay, I'm kind of feeling like sixty five
- 1:10:17percent, Okay, Okay? Is that okay? Okay? Perfect? You
- 1:10:21agree on sixty five percent? Actually, let's do seventy seventy seventy seventy all
- 1:10:29right, final answer, seventy percent okay. Uh, whew, boys,
- 1:10:34is the exact percentage higher or lower? What's seventy percent? What's a millennial?
- 1:10:40I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it's higher. Higher, Yeah,
- 1:10:43I think so okay, so what nothing? What's your answer? Your
- 1:10:47answer was higher? Yeah, let's go hi, okay, higher it is?
- 1:10:51Uh. And the actual percentage of American millennials who said they have a
- 1:10:55positive opinion of the first Avengers movie was fifty seven percent. Marin and Caroline
- 1:11:00take the first nice it's actually less than Actually yeah, I'm just fifty seven
- 1:11:08percent. Let's move on to survey number two. Now, Stevie and Aggie,
- 1:11:12you guys are going to give me the exact percentage, and Marin and
- 1:11:14Caroline are going to decide higher or lower. Here is your survey. According
- 1:11:18to a twenty twenty two fandom survey, what percentage of Marvel fans say there
- 1:11:24is too much content to keep up with? Twenty twenty two survey on fandom
- 1:11:31dot com. What percentage of Marvel fans self admitted Marvel fans say there is
- 1:11:38too much content? I'm gonna say it's in a high safeties because of all
- 1:11:42the TV shows that came out at the same time with all those movies.
- 1:11:45Honestly, I'm thinking more like high seventy you think, yeah, because they're
- 1:11:48because of all the shows and the movies and all the other ship that they've
- 1:11:53been doing. Because now it's all interconnected. You want you want to cut
- 1:11:56in the middle, like seventy three seventy four, Yeah, let's do that.
- 1:11:59Cool cool three seventy three percent say the boy tw boys, Marin and
- 1:12:04Caroline ultrope girls. Do you say it's higher or lower than seventy three percent?
- 1:12:11See? I feel that way, but you know what I mean,
- 1:12:13But like I'm not how do you feel, Marion personally? I think there's
- 1:12:18a lot of content to keep up on. Yeah. The thing that's keeping
- 1:12:23me from saying higher is this was on fandom dot com by like Marvel fans,
- 1:12:28Right, go on that site unless you're like looking for extra content.
- 1:12:32No, there's not too much content. Give me more content. Yeah,
- 1:12:34okay, Yeah, So part of me thinks you should go lower just because
- 1:12:40of the audience that they ask, right, but like right, yeah,
- 1:12:45I'm gonna say lower. Yeah, because the people who are Marvel fans and
- 1:12:47are really Marvel fans are like really into it. Yeah, yeah, all
- 1:12:53right, we're going lower. You're going lower, all right? Uh?
- 1:12:57Stevie and Augie say seventy three percent, and Caroline and Marian say lower.
- 1:13:01The actual percentage of Marvel fans who say there is too much content to keep
- 1:13:05up with was eighty four percent. Yeah, yeah, ste yeah. Even
- 1:13:14among super hardcore fans, they're like, man, this is a lot.
- 1:13:18In any event, it's all tied up. We're gonna swap rolls again.
- 1:13:23Mary and Caroline, you're gonna give me the exact percentage. Stevi and Aggie
- 1:13:25you're gonna say high or lower. And here's survey number three. According to
- 1:13:30an IPSOS poll from twenty seventeen, what percentage of Americans say they prefer Marvel
- 1:13:35movies over DC movies? And to clarify, there were four possible answers.
- 1:13:42They liked Marvel better, they liked DC better, they liked them equally,
- 1:13:45where they have no opinion. So what percentage said they picked Marvel as the
- 1:13:51one they like best. There's just more Marvel movies. So I feel like
- 1:13:56if someone isn't even that big of a fan or has an opinion, they'd
- 1:14:00probably pick Marvell. Statistically speaking, right, people like Marvel way movies are
- 1:14:08trash other than I mean, I really liked The Dark Knight, the first
- 1:14:12One Woman one Batman has I did. I did not like Wonder Woman,
- 1:14:15even the first one. I have so many feelings about that. Yeah,
- 1:14:19yeah, yeah, is yes, more liked what is Ipso I don't even
- 1:14:28know. I've never heard of that anyway, And I think they're just a
- 1:14:31pole taking company. That's all right, they just take poles. Yeah,
- 1:14:34okay, nice, you have a thing. We definitely have to factor in
- 1:14:41the fact that there's fours, right, I know, that's the thing.
- 1:14:44I think it's probably gonna be like fifty seven to sixty seven percent, fifty
- 1:14:49seventy sixty. Let's go fifty five fifty five. I mean that's under what
- 1:14:58you were said. But yeah, fifty let's go fifty seven. But if
- 1:15:04we get it exactly right, what happens then well then they can't win.
- 1:15:09It automatically goes to you. But okay, great, Like, what if
- 1:15:15we got it exactly right? Because I know you all right, So fifty
- 1:15:18percent girls be a to w boys. What do you think higher or lower
- 1:15:25than fifty seven percent? Yeah? You think people prefer DC over marble.
- 1:15:30Don't forget there's four answers. One's the same. The other ones didn't answer.
- 1:15:34Oh yeah, maybe you're right. I think just mathematically, I'm thinking
- 1:15:42that way. Okay, going by that hunch. All right, Well,
- 1:15:50uh, the girls say that it's fifty seven percent, and the boys say
- 1:15:56it is lower than that. The actual percentage of Americans who say they prefer
- 1:16:01Marvel movies over DC movies has a seven in the second digit, but it's
- 1:16:08forty seven percent. What if we said forty seven have been amazing? Would
- 1:16:15though for a second there, I thought it was your bias that got us
- 1:16:18on this path, But no, you actually no, actually thinking about it?
- 1:16:25All right, So that's two throws. Every once in a while,
- 1:16:29it's like two surveys to the bfy two boys, Marin and Caroline, you
- 1:16:31have to get this to stay in the game. Here is we can do
- 1:16:35a number four. Now this time, you gentlemen are going to give me
- 1:16:40the exact percentage, and Marin and Caroline you'll tell me whether it's high or
- 1:16:44lower. Here's the survey. According to a twenty twenty two fandom survey,
- 1:16:48what percentage of Marvel fans consider being a Marvel fan to be part of their
- 1:16:55core identity. What percentage of a Marvel fans said, Yes, being a
- 1:17:00Marble fan is part of my core identity. Well, your was just twenty
- 1:17:08twenty one, twenty twenty two two. I mean, if it was twenty
- 1:17:11twenty one, I'd get it, But twenty twenty two. Come on,
- 1:17:14grow up, come on, get it. You've got to be kidding me.
- 1:17:21Controversy. Um, I've been doing this whole episode of Marble stuff.
- 1:17:28Grow up. Come on. I have a Batman tattoo, not a Captain
- 1:17:36American. Um. I'm want to say. It's like around the thirty something.
- 1:17:42What are you think of all you so far? Yeah? Okay,
- 1:17:44so there? Do you think low thirties or high thirties? Thirty five?
- 1:17:47You want to go right at five? Yeah? We gotta do a six
- 1:17:49or like a four or some remember you want to do a four and thirty
- 1:17:57five? Would you want? Okay? Final answer? Yeah, okay,
- 1:18:10okay. Uh. Marin and Caroline, do you think it's higher or lower
- 1:18:15than thirty five percent? I think it's higher. You're confident. I think
- 1:18:23it's higher too. Because they specifically surveyed Marvel fans, and boy howdy,
- 1:18:29are those Marvel fans really into Marvel, and I say that as like a
- 1:18:33self obsessed fan of other franchises. So this is not an insolid in any
- 1:18:38way. People just you know, I don't. Also, statistically, it's
- 1:18:43more likely to be higher than lower. There are more numbers. Yeah,
- 1:18:48yeah, but you think it's lower. You think it's lower. Why why
- 1:18:53do you think it's lower? I want to hear your reason. I think
- 1:18:55it's lower is because the survey was in twenty twenty two, and I'm thinking
- 1:18:59to the pro Hire survey where everyone was like, there's way too much content,
- 1:19:02right, So you were to ask those people if they were Marvel fans,
- 1:19:08people might be like, well, I don't know enough to call myself
- 1:19:11that, you know, But no, that's what I'm with you. I
- 1:19:14think it's high. I do still think it's hired, dude. I'm just
- 1:19:15gonna be real. Let's do it higher. Why did they break locking in
- 1:19:20higher? Yeah? Locking in higher? Okay? So lockeryw Boys say that
- 1:19:29thirty five percent of Marvel fans consider it being part of their core identity,
- 1:19:32and Marin and Caroline say hire the actual percentage of Marvel fans who consider being
- 1:19:41a Marvel fan to be part of their core identity and you are going to
- 1:19:45kick yourselves is thirty six, so so close, and you talked yourselves out
- 1:19:58of it. And then Marin and Caroline with like a fifty shot just wow,
- 1:20:09wow, thank you Caroline. It's all tied up. It comes down
- 1:20:15to this final Marin and Caroline. You're gonna give me the exact percentage,
- 1:20:20Devian Aggie, you got a guess, Hire, or we're gonna give the
- 1:20:24exact percentage Marion, Come on here it is. According to a twenty twenty
- 1:20:30two fandom survey, what percentage of Marvel fans say they have dressed up as
- 1:20:35a Marvel character for Halloween or a party? What percentage of Marvel fans said
- 1:20:42they have Marvel dressed up as a Marvel character for Halloween or a party?
- 1:20:47So may I ask Maren, Yes, have you dressed up as a Marvel
- 1:20:54character for a party? Yes, you sure have? Okay, great?
- 1:20:58Great? Who are you? Was the Black Widows? Yeah? Yeah you
- 1:21:01are. You really would be a great black widow. Actually to state production
- 1:21:10of the Avengers cost marit um oh yes, um okay um. It's an
- 1:21:19easy costume. And there's so many like Onesie type costumes. So true and
- 1:21:25it's like easily recognizable and it's a very popular I p so like people,
- 1:21:30I think it's high. I do. I do think it's higher. I
- 1:21:35would agree, I definitely agree. Yeah. And also there you have to
- 1:21:41also consider the fact that a lot of these people have probably grown up with
- 1:21:45it, and so they might have dressed up a spider Man or like whatever
- 1:21:46when they were like five years old. Yeah, I'm willing to say,
- 1:21:51like seventy I was thinking seventy two, seventy two, seventy two percent,
- 1:22:00framp so Stevie, and you gotta tell me whether the exact percentage is higher
- 1:22:05or lower than seventy two percent. And the game rides on this. I
- 1:22:11feel like, even if you're an only like a partial Harful fan or even
- 1:22:15just a casual one, if you'd very likely dress up as one during Halloween,
- 1:22:21so I feel like it would actually be higher just because of just all
- 1:22:26the random people would just do it because of last minute costume choice. And
- 1:22:30they're like, I kind of know what this is. I am in agreement.
- 1:22:33It is just higher. So you're both gonna say higher, correct sir?
- 1:22:38For the game for the win, sir? All right, Marin and
- 1:22:43Caroline said seventy two percent. Stevie and Augie say the actual percentage is higher.
- 1:22:50Well, big books on Lammi's Noammi's Noammy. I'm gonna tell you right
- 1:22:54now correct answer is probably going to blow everybody's mind. The actual percentage of
- 1:23:00Marvel fans, according to the survey, who say they have dressed up as
- 1:23:04a Marvel character for Halloween or a party is fourteen percent. That's it.
- 1:23:15Yeah, I have also definitely dressed up as a Marvel character at some point.
- 1:23:19Cosplay number was even lower. It was like eleven percent. So they've
- 1:23:24dressed up in cosplay for a comparin that means the Ultra Hope girls haven't one
- 1:23:33very nicely. It came down to the final question, can't beat them?
- 1:23:42And when you said seventy two, I was like, that's it, the
- 1:23:45game's up. There's no way they're gonna go higher than that. And then
- 1:23:48they went higher and that was it. But like Audie and Stevie, I
- 1:23:54literally like, am so with you in that logic? Absolutely, But I
- 1:23:59guess I guess Adulter Layman don't celebrate Halloween. Well, this this is not
- 1:24:06just American, it's worldwide. There may be cultures where dressing up is not
- 1:24:11as celebrated as it is here in America, and maybe that's that is a
- 1:24:14good point, is very good. I had to I had to keep my
- 1:24:16mouth shut during all of this stuff, just not to like interfere. But
- 1:24:19I had so many books. Is excellent working on it for a long time.
