Transcript
- 1:04Mark Spence: You know, there's a lot of things that are kind of happening out there that are unexplainable, you know, is our government behind?
- 1:10Mark Spence: Is our government behind that atrocious act or that thing that happened within our history?
- 1:14Mark Spence: I don't know.
- 1:16Mark Spence: But the beautiful thing that we do have is we know that God is ultimately in control of all things.
- 1:20Mark Spence: We have to remember that we are aliens, right, we are foreigners in a foreign land that are just kind of passing through, homesick for a home we've never been to.
- 1:28Mark Spence: We don't fit in, we do not belong here.
- 1:31Mark Spence: Oscar, there was some time ago where you quoted CS Lewis concerning about if we don't fit in, the only natural explanation is that we were built for another place.
- 1:43Oscar Navarro: Made for another home.
- 1:44Mark Spence: yeah, yeah, and that's the case, right.
- 1:46Mark Spence: There's nothing a Christian can do to fill at home here on earth.
- 1:53Mark Spence: Yeah, and so it is.
- 1:54Mark Spence: If we have that mindset that we are just passing through, then we will utilize the resources that God has given us for the purpose for which he's given them to us, which is to bring him glory, and it'll be ultimately for our good.
- 2:12Emeal Zwayne: Friends.
- 2:12Emeal Zwayne: I don't know if it's typically possible, but it was made possible today here on the Living Waters podcast.
- 2:20Emeal Zwayne: It's one thing to not have respect for someone which was a previous case for me to mark but to have negative respect, you know, like in temperature you have like zero degrees.
- 2:36Emeal Zwayne: And then you have people zero, negative zero.
- 2:39Emeal Zwayne: Come on, I wish, mark, people could have seen your demonstration with your arms flailing and how you showed us what you do with your disgusting Wienerschnitzel chili cheese.
- 2:53Oscar Navarro: I'm actually on Mark's side on this one.
- 2:55Oscar Navarro: Yeah, see Oscar's on my side, but Oscar's just like being healthy With that shirt.
- 2:59Emeal Zwayne: Oscar has no jurisdiction to say anything.
- 3:02Emeal Zwayne: Here's the thing.
- 3:03Oscar Navarro: I can take this shirt off.
- 3:04Oscar Navarro: You're stuck with that face, oh boy, I love Wienerschnitzel.
- 3:11Mark Spence: In fact, the other day I was on my way to dinner and I stopped by Wienerschnitzel.
- 3:15Mark Spence: Just driving by, I was talking to my dad on the phone and I go man, there's room for two chili cheese dogs.
- 3:20Mark Spence: It's just room.
- 3:21Mark Spence: There's always room, and so you stop by and the idea is to get two chili cheese dogs and a cup of chili, and then you take that chili cheese dog, which is already covered with chili, and you dip it in the chili.
- 3:30Mark Spence: Now, I don't like chili.
- 3:31Oscar Navarro: We call that the chili dipper.
- 3:32Mark Spence: The chili dipper.
- 3:33Mark Spence: I like that.
- 3:33Mark Spence: I just made that up.
- 3:37Emeal Zwayne: I wish people could see the glow on your face as you talk about Wienerschnitzel.
- 3:41Emeal Zwayne: Just even what you said to Oscar, I like that.
- 3:44Ray Comfort: But I admire that about Mark.
- 3:46Mark Spence: He's got passion for what he's talking about.
- 3:47Mark Spence: Not only me, but you realize, levi likes Wienerschnitzel.
- 3:51Mark Spence: We have a special guest today.
- 3:54Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, he counted us down to kick off the show.
- 3:56Emeal Zwayne: Levi, I used to respect him too.
- 4:00Mark Spence: I have a Wienerschnitzel gift card for him inside my car.
- 4:02Mark Spence: Oscar, don't let that happen, nice.
- 4:04Oscar Navarro: Yeah, I know where we're going for lunch.
- 4:05Oscar Navarro: Oh man.
- 4:07Emeal Zwayne: I'm seriously absolutely dumbfounded right now, and we talked about the bits of bone Occasionally.
- 4:14Mark Spence: That's occasionally.
- 4:14Mark Spence: You just got to spit it out.
- 4:17Emeal Zwayne: Yes, I had once in a while in my food.
- 4:19Mark Spence: Come on, I mean we've all eaten.
- 4:20Mark Spence: On the mission field you just have to spit out certain things that just don't Ray the.
- 4:25Oscar Navarro: Jew Bits of bone, by the way.
- 4:27Emeal Zwayne: Real quick Chicken wings, literally 80% of it is a bit of bone.
- 4:32Mark Spence: Wow.
- 4:32Emeal Zwayne: Wow, you need help.
- 4:33Mark Spence: This is so true.
- 4:34Mark Spence: Wait, don't just gloss by that.
- 4:36Mark Spence: That is so true.
- 4:37Ray Comfort: If you notice, Mark's been yelling in this podcast.
- 4:39Ray Comfort: We're talking about him.
- 4:40Mark Spence: I'm so excited for Wintersnitzel.
- 4:41Mark Spence: Look at his fashion.
- 4:43Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, this borders on the demented, not even borders with him, boy Oscar's side by side.
- 4:49Mark Spence: I really like Oscar.
- 4:50Mark Spence: Now, oh boy, I really like him.
- 4:52Emeal Zwayne: Man.
- 4:53Emeal Zwayne: I never believed in psychiatry, but I'm starting to think that through again.
- 4:56Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, but that's the same reason why I detest eating at Keynes, because you get a little vein in those chicken things.
- 5:08Mark Spence: I actually never had Keynes.
- 5:08Emeal Zwayne: Yeah it's probably good.
- 5:10Mark Spence: Oscar, where do you think I'm going for dinner tonight Of all the restaurants that I could choose?
- 5:14Emeal Zwayne: to go BJ's pizza.
- 5:15Mark Spence: I'm going to BJ's tonight.
- 5:16Mark Spence: What for that?
- 5:16Mark Spence: Dinner?
- 5:17Mark Spence: For dinner, yeah, with Pastor Phillip, oh boy and Dan yeah, let's go to BJ's Ray the kosher Jew.
- 5:25Emeal Zwayne: What are?
- 5:25Ray Comfort: you talking about.
- 5:27Emeal Zwayne: Would you eat a disgusting hot dog?
- 5:30Ray Comfort: Yes, I just think I wish Matt would buy me one.
- 5:32Ray Comfort: He's never bought one of the ministry.
- 5:34Emeal Zwayne: You would eat a chili cheese dog?
- 5:35Emeal Zwayne: Would you try chili cheese?
- 5:35Ray Comfort: dog.
- 5:35Ray Comfort: Of course I had chili in a fire station in New York, New Jersey.
- 5:40Ray Comfort: Me and Kirk were doing a program.
- 5:41Ray Comfort: I told you we were there, but the firefighters made us chili and I loved it.
- 5:45Oscar Navarro: Hey, we should do it Next time we do lunch here instead of El Proloquo we should do chili cheese dog.
- 5:50Emeal Zwayne: Oh my God man Kelly Oscar she would not believe us.
- 5:54Emeal Zwayne: She knows about my wicked ways, no, but look.
- 5:58Emeal Zwayne: Okay, guys, let's get real here.
- 6:00Mark Spence: I have to sneak my chili cheese dogs, though None of my family allows me to eat.
- 6:04Emeal Zwayne: Okay, but let's get real here.
- 6:05Emeal Zwayne: It's one thing to have like a real deal all beef Chicago style in Chicago Sure.
- 6:15Mark Spence: That's the Russ, chris we're not.
- 6:16Emeal Zwayne: Nobody's going to afford that.
- 6:17Emeal Zwayne: Okay, whatever.
- 6:19Emeal Zwayne: I'm like saying yeah, you know I can't get purified, clean drinking water, so I'm going to go for sewage water.
- 6:27Ray Comfort: You see, this is a dead dog.
- 6:29Emeal Zwayne: A dead dog.
- 6:30Emeal Zwayne: I'm so mad and you're on board with them too now.
- 6:33Ray Comfort: Well, I know, I just didn't have a tribe one.
- 6:35Emeal Zwayne: I like to buy one, listen for the record, I absolutely love chili cheese dogs like real ones, not this filth imitation, fake.
- 6:44Mark Spence: whatever man we finished this episode already, so I'm done.
- 6:46Mark Spence: So you'll get a chili cheese dog.
- 6:47Emeal Zwayne: Okay, all right, friends, ray, you're in on all this.
- 6:52Ray Comfort: Not yet.
- 6:52Ray Comfort: Mark's going to buy me one.
- 6:56Oscar Navarro: I'm going to bring all of you there for that, by the way.
- 6:58Emeal Zwayne: Wow, I hope you stain up your whole shirt with chili.
- 7:01Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, is that a shirt?
- 7:04Ray Comfort: Does it come in men's?
- 7:06Ray Comfort: No, do they make them for men?
- 7:09Ray Comfort: It's not a patch on the shirts that I have.
- 7:13Emeal Zwayne: That is something else, oscar.
- 7:15Emeal Zwayne: All right friends, here's a comment.
- 7:18Emeal Zwayne: This is from Katniss, madness 4, and she headlined it with yes, YA, ssssssss.
- 7:28Emeal Zwayne: I think this podcast has about the perfect mix of edification and entertainment.
- 7:33Emeal Zwayne: You guys are so good at delivering truth in a fun and engaging way, and you're also greatly passionate about hot dogs.
- 7:41Emeal Zwayne: No, about the gospel and about the Lord.
- 7:45Emeal Zwayne: Thank you for serving us so greatly with your wisdom, jokes, stories, quotes and more.
- 7:51Emeal Zwayne: I don't know if we served anybody with what we talked about today.
- 7:54Emeal Zwayne: Probably disgusted most sane people.
- 7:57Emeal Zwayne: Do you know what's a?
- 8:00Oscar Navarro: part of the experience too, for me, mark, is the fact that it comes paper wrapped, cause it, like warms the bun.
- 8:06Oscar Navarro: You know what I mean.
- 8:07Oscar Navarro: The fact that it's served paper wrapped, in fact like, affects the way in which you enjoy the chili dog.
- 8:14Oscar Navarro: Mark has that I'm in love.
- 8:15Ray Comfort: Look on his face.
- 8:16Ray Comfort: Are we gonna move on?
- 8:17Emeal Zwayne: I'm trying to, but these guys, just you brought it back up with a comment.
- 8:21Mark Spence: They're infatuated.
- 8:21Mark Spence: In fact, I'll order sometimes order four chili cheese dogs, knowing that the other ones are gonna heat up the other ones as it sits there for about five minutes.
- 8:30Mark Spence: Oh man, in fact my brother will order five chili cheese dogs.
- 8:34Mark Spence: He'll eat three of them and then the last two.
- 8:36Mark Spence: He'll take out the hot dog part of it, cause he feels sick like you'll have to throw up.
- 8:41Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, Friends, I hope you all enjoyed Mark's last appearance on the Living Waters podcast.
- 8:46Emeal Zwayne: This podcast is brought to you by, you would think, weiner Schnitzel, but no, the school of biblical evangelism, both online and in textbook form, the book that made Mark Spence an author One with very bad taste in food.
- 9:05Emeal Zwayne: Make sure to check it out, friends, and don't forget the Living Waters mug, the evidence study, bible, all at LivingWaterscom.
- 9:14Emeal Zwayne: Thank you, oscar, you're my permanent helper with that.
- 9:17Emeal Zwayne: All right, friends, what are you guys doing?
- 9:22Mark Spence: We're looking at chili cheese dogs on the internet.
- 9:23Ray Comfort: What?
- 9:24Ray Comfort: Sorry, I just thought, what are they?
- 9:26Ray Comfort: Great comfort.
- 9:26Emeal Zwayne: Your sin has found you out.
- 9:28Ray Comfort: I just thought what do they look like?
- 9:29Ray Comfort: I was just curious.
- 9:30Ray Comfort: Have you never had?
- 9:31Emeal Zwayne: one no.
- 9:32Oscar Navarro: Wait, what I don't know.
- 9:35Ray Comfort: Guys, I can't wait for this program to be over, because I've seen on NBC there was a lady that was attacked by a hawk and she yelled out help me, jesus, what?
- 9:44Ray Comfort: And NBC are?
- 9:45Ray Comfort: And a snake.
- 9:47Emeal Zwayne: And a snake.
- 9:48Mark Spence: Yeah, a snake in a hawk attacked her.
- 9:51Ray Comfort: No, a snake in a hawk.
- 9:51Ray Comfort: At the same time they did, and she said help me, jesus.
- 9:54Ray Comfort: And NBC is reporting it.
- 9:55Ray Comfort: So I've gone to the videos.
- 9:56Ray Comfort: I'm going to try and put something up for our site.
- 9:59Emeal Zwayne: Get it out, mark.
- 9:59Emeal Zwayne: He's shown me cheese dogs.
- 10:01Emeal Zwayne: Cheese dogs, All right, enough of the stupidity, more stupidity Today we're talking about.
- 10:07Emeal Zwayne: Could there be life Another planet?
- 10:10Emeal Zwayne: Why aren't you laughing, oscar?
- 10:12Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, this is the question of the century.
- 10:17Emeal Zwayne: You guys have any favorite alien movies?
- 10:19Emeal Zwayne: Yes, seriously, is there a shortage of alien movies?
- 10:24Emeal Zwayne: Right?
- 10:24Emeal Zwayne: The?
- 10:24Ray Comfort: blob.
- 10:26Oscar Navarro: Is it an alien?
- 10:27Oscar Navarro: I don't remember that.
- 10:28Ray Comfort: Yeah, I don't know if it's the other one is the thing from outer space.
- 10:32Oscar Navarro: Yeah, seriously.
- 10:33Ray Comfort: Their classic movies are so dumb, they're fun.
- 10:36Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, the thing Is that the clown, no, that's it.
- 10:39Ray Comfort: Yeah, that's an it.
- 10:42Emeal Zwayne: Then there's the man that became a fly, or for something Like a fly A fly A fly that's not from outer space, but I like.
- 10:48Ray Comfort: I just watch them for fun because they're wholesome and stupid.
- 10:51Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, they're dumb man, but seriously, you've got to.
- 10:54Emeal Zwayne: There's always an alien movie in the theater, it would seem.
- 10:58Oscar Navarro: Yeah, well, there's a lot of really bad ones.
- 11:00Oscar Navarro: Like any other genre, there's terrible science fiction, but there's also really good science fiction, both books and movies.
- 11:05Oscar Navarro: And actually, for the non-readers out there, one of the best the illiterate people, one of the best science fiction movies that have come out in a really long time is Arrival.
- 11:16Oscar Navarro: Have you ever seen Arrival?
- 11:17Oscar Navarro: No Oscar, oh man.
- 11:19Ray Comfort: Is it clean?
- 11:20Oscar Navarro: Then in a way, you can watch it on clean format and also it doesn't seem like anything was taken out of it.
- 11:26Ray Comfort: We should always qualify it when we talk about movies, because it is.
- 11:31Oscar Navarro: I'm not going to give anything away, but you should see it.
- 11:34Oscar Navarro: Here's the one push.
- 11:36Oscar Navarro: It is the most pro-life blockbuster movie I've ever seen, really, and they don't even realize that it's pro-life.
- 11:43Oscar Navarro: Oh, alien movie, it's called Arrival.
- 11:46Oscar Navarro: Wow, it is so good, that's my pitch for it.
- 11:51Emeal Zwayne: Merci beaucoup, boy.
- 11:52Emeal Zwayne: They've been doing these things for a long time.
- 11:54Emeal Zwayne: You guys remember when I was a kid, there was a TV series called V?
- 11:59Oscar Navarro: V for Victory.
- 12:00Emeal Zwayne: What?
- 12:01Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you remember that?
- 12:02Emeal Zwayne: I sure do Remember that, lady Diana.
- 12:04Emeal Zwayne: She would eat rats.
- 12:05Emeal Zwayne: She'd open her mouth and eat rats Like they looked like people on the outside but they took on human form, but they were aliens underneath and they would eat.
- 12:12Emeal Zwayne: Remember Mark V's for Victory that was Rats or Chili Dogs.
- 12:15Mark Spence: I'm not a fan of sci-fi.
- 12:16Mark Spence: I'm not a fan of really any of that genre whatsoever.
- 12:21Mark Spence: I don't get it at all.
- 12:23Mark Spence: Never Star Wars fan Never.
- 12:26Mark Spence: I've never seen Star Wars, what.
- 12:27Mark Spence: I'm not a fan of any of that stuff.
- 12:29Ray Comfort: I walked out of it, Did you?
- 12:31Ray Comfort: Yeah, well, I tell my little kids to see it they're only like five or six because I heard it was so good and the first scene was bodies burning and I thought this isn't good.
- 12:40Ray Comfort: Oh, I might see it then.
- 12:41Ray Comfort: Chili Dogs.
- 12:44Emeal Zwayne: Are there dead Chili Dogs in it?
- 12:45Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you know, it really is a massive infatuation in the world.
- 12:53Ray Comfort: It used to be for me, until we landed on the moon and there was just dirt they came back with dirt.
- 12:58Emeal Zwayne: Did you believe the Mormon prophecy that there are men on the moon?
- 13:00Emeal Zwayne: Men on the what On the moon?
- 13:04Ray Comfort: No, but I remember listening to it live.
- 13:06Ray Comfort: I was on my motorbike and I stopped as they were landing on the moon.
- 13:08Ray Comfort: I was, I think I was 16.
- 13:10Ray Comfort: And it was fascinating.
- 13:12Ray Comfort: And then you think what's gonna come from this?
- 13:14Ray Comfort: And nothing came from it.
- 13:15Ray Comfort: They just brought back some dirt.
- 13:16Emeal Zwayne: You know it was fake the whole moon.
- 13:17Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's right.
- 13:20Mark Spence: And then I liked the Christian astronomer Not, I mean not astronomer, the guy who walked on the moon not walked on the moon, he spent more time in outer space, Jeff Williams and he opened up his sermon at the Ark with two things.
- 13:33Mark Spence: He said first of all, yes, we did land on the moon, and second, no, the earth is not flat.
- 13:39Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's how he opened up his sermon.
- 13:41Emeal Zwayne: It's so good to hear that, especially from a reputable, sane man of God who lived in the space station, and we're actually.
- 13:47Emeal Zwayne: We have a conference coming up where he'll be speaking with us as well we do.
- 13:51Mark Spence: Yeah, it's a conference for pastors at the Ark.
- 13:53Mark Spence: At the Ark, yeah and October.
- 13:55Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, this may have aired by then, who knows.
- 13:57Ray Comfort: Brian Regan walked on the moon also.
- 14:00Emeal Zwayne: Seriously one of the best bits ever.
- 14:03Emeal Zwayne: You guys have to admit you've heard of that bit, oscar.
- 14:05Emeal Zwayne: What you haven't heard of Brian Regan yeah, he's okay, I'll summarize it.
- 14:10Emeal Zwayne: So he's talking about?
- 14:11Emeal Zwayne: He's talking about going to dinner parties.
- 14:13Emeal Zwayne: You know how people just talk themselves up.
- 14:15Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I'm an owner of a 500 fortune company.
- 14:19Emeal Zwayne: I did this.
- 14:20Emeal Zwayne: I went to the stock.
- 14:22Oscar Navarro: I'm money, I'm banks, I'm the CDs.
- 14:26Mark Spence: And he goes in there.
- 14:26Mark Spence: Then there's this guy just in the corner hanging out waiting for people to finish speaking.
- 14:31Mark Spence: Yeah.
- 14:32Emeal Zwayne: And he's just and Brian Regan, he shows he's like taking his shrimp and he's dipping it in the cocktail and he just goes.
- 14:38Emeal Zwayne: I walked on the moon Because you can't trump that right.
- 14:44Emeal Zwayne: It doesn't get any bigger than walking on the moon.
- 14:46Emeal Zwayne: Well, he's like when I was in my moon rover at the Sea of Tranquility.
- 14:53Mark Spence: I can't believe I heard of Brian Regan.
- 14:55Emeal Zwayne: He had to be there.
- 14:56Emeal Zwayne: Oscar, wow, he's so funny.
- 14:57Emeal Zwayne: Oh, it's so funny, but seriously like how insightful that is right.
- 15:01Emeal Zwayne: I mean it was gonna trump this guy.
- 15:03Ray Comfort: And he talked about having wisdom teeth pulled.
- 15:05Ray Comfort: Oh yeah, and as you say, I had two wisdom teeth pulled.
- 15:08Ray Comfort: In comes some guy Peritroup where it says he had six pulled.
- 15:12Ray Comfort: They parachuted.
- 15:12Ray Comfort: Someone's always gonna up story, you.
- 15:15Mark Spence: You were impacted.
- 15:18Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, oh boy we always yeah, Anyway.
- 15:20Emeal Zwayne: But, guys, this is becoming obviously.
- 15:24Emeal Zwayne: There've been alien movies forever and TV shows I mean back probably in the 40s, 50s, right, it's been going on for a long time.
- 15:31Ray Comfort: Oh yes, when I was a little kid, like seven or eight, I used to read books on outer space and I was very fascinated by it, but it's increasing now.
- 15:39Mark Spence: I think it was at Orson Welles with his radio program.
- 15:41Ray Comfort: Remember that famous.
- 15:42Ray Comfort: I don't remember it as well before my day, but there's fans.
- 15:45Mark Spence: War of the.
- 15:45Ray Comfort: Worlds.
- 15:46Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, do you guys know the story of that?
- 15:47Emeal Zwayne: No, I don't even know what it is.
- 15:49Emeal Zwayne: Wait, seriously, you don't.
- 15:51Ray Comfort: It's War of the Worlds.
- 15:51Ray Comfort: It's part of history.
- 15:52Oscar Navarro: Yeah, okay, so it's a book, no Orson Welles the actor.
- 15:57Oscar Navarro: The voice actor yeah, he developed the story called War of the Worlds, and the way they decided to produce it is they put it on the radio.
- 16:05Emeal Zwayne: Oh, yes, of course, I've heard of this.
- 16:08Oscar Navarro: So, for those who haven't heard of it, they put it on the radio.
- 16:10Oscar Navarro: It's this incredible story that's like a phenomenon that ended up happening.
- 16:14Oscar Navarro: But what they did from a marketing perspective and I actually read this in a marketing book is they didn't advertise it, they didn't market it, they just simply went live with it and they presented it as a news report, as though aliens were taking over the world.
- 16:31Oscar Navarro: It was called War of the Worlds.
- 16:32Emeal Zwayne: I think you've even mentioned it on the podcast.
- 16:34Oscar Navarro: There's no commercial breaks, the original airing, and what ended up happening is some people went into a fever because they thought it was really happening.
- 16:42Oscar Navarro: Wow, and it is, and it won.
- 16:45Oscar Navarro: I mean, the delivery of the story is incredible.
- 16:47Oscar Navarro: It's also just like a great, immersive experience.
- 16:50Oscar Navarro: You can listen to the original recording.
- 16:52Oscar Navarro: It's out there, you can find it on the internet and, of course, there's a Tom Hanks movie that was written about it too, called War of the Worlds.
- 16:59Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:59Emeal Zwayne: Well, here's what's going on now, guys, and this is why I think it's important for us to address it, because things have reached a new level.
- 17:07Emeal Zwayne: Right For ages, people say and aliens are there?
- 17:09Emeal Zwayne: Aliens are there not aliens, whatever?
- 17:10Emeal Zwayne: And the government obviously always denied anything, always stayed silent on things.
- 17:15Emeal Zwayne: Well, as you guys know, recently there was a hearing before Congress, and here are the three guys that testified.
- 17:24Emeal Zwayne: You had former Navy pilot Ryan Graves, retired US Navy commander David Fraver and former intelligence officer David Grusk.
- 17:37Emeal Zwayne: They all testified before Congress about what seemed to be objects that are very, very foreign.
- 17:49Mark Spence: UFOs.
- 17:50Oscar Navarro: Yeah, but they defined it as actual.
- 17:53Oscar Navarro: They didn't define it as aliens or even intelligent life.
- 17:57Emeal Zwayne: They're just saying this is something that is far beyond anything that we have the capacity to.
- 18:04Emeal Zwayne: We don't have the technology.
- 18:05Emeal Zwayne: It's just way too.
- 18:06Emeal Zwayne: They talk about this thing.
- 18:08Emeal Zwayne: They call it like a tic-tac, that's what they refer to it.
- 18:10Emeal Zwayne: That's what the vessel looked like and they talk about it just hovered perfectly and then all of a sudden, at like supersonic speed, was just gone, like so Didn't they have a blurry camera to get a picture of it?
- 18:22Emeal Zwayne: That's right, they had footage and stuff Was it clear.
- 18:27Ray Comfort: I don't know yeah, I bet it was a real.
- 18:29Ray Comfort: It was a real, why is?
- 18:30Emeal Zwayne: it, you're right.
- 18:31Emeal Zwayne: Why is it also?
- 18:32Ray Comfort: It's always blurry.
- 18:32Ray Comfort: It was a real tic-tac.
- 18:34Ray Comfort: It was someone flicked up in the air.
- 18:36Oscar Navarro: But here's the thing Go ahead, you go.
- 18:40Emeal Zwayne: Okay, well, I was gonna just say, like, what's really getting people stirred up is that these are like, these are legitimate people, they have credibility, they're not some dude sitting in a mom's basement.
- 18:50Ray Comfort: Well, they're head credibility, head credibility.
- 18:52Emeal Zwayne: But again, they were being careful.
- 18:54Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's key.
- 18:55Emeal Zwayne: They were being careful.
- 18:56Emeal Zwayne: They weren't saying they're saying we're just telling you we have seen things that defy any comprehension that we do not have the technology to do this.
- 19:04Mark Spence: It's impossible.
- 19:04Mark Spence: You go though with that, we jump to a place of oh, it's an alien.
- 19:08Mark Spence: Aliens exist.
- 19:09Oscar Navarro: Right, right, well and again, a part of the problem is that we understand UFO, which is defined as unidentified flying object, but we immediately think intelligent, extraterrestrial, intelligent life.
- 19:21Oscar Navarro: But the definition that they use and it's so funny if you read the news headlines it's like you know, military generals and government officials tell us that there's aliens.
- 19:33Oscar Navarro: But if you actually which I did this, I actually went and watched the interviews by them they use unidentified aerial phenomena and they're very intentional about using it because, to your point, ray, in the past they've been able to identify that the phenomena wasn't something in space, that it was a reflection on a window, that it was lightning, storms, that it was other things.
- 19:59Oscar Navarro: Now they're not saying all of them are that, but the reason why they use the word phenomenon?
- 20:04Oscar Navarro: Because they simply cannot explain what is being seen, which does open the door for the potential of some sort of extraterrestrial possibility.
- 20:16Oscar Navarro: But in those interviews they don't say that that's what it is.
- 20:19Emeal Zwayne: That's key.
- 20:20Emeal Zwayne: But one of the guys said that when he interviewed different people within you know, the military that there are some who said they recovered something that had, yeah, technology that was non-human and also organisms.
- 20:35Emeal Zwayne: Yes, you know, you saw that.
- 20:36Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, so these are the things that are making people go huh.
- 20:39Emeal Zwayne: What, ray, what do you think about all this?
- 20:42Ray Comfort: I mean, do you think Well, one thing I think Hollywood is very limited in its imagination when it comes to aliens or outer space people, because the movies I've watched they always have heads, eyes, ears, arms and legs.
- 20:55Ray Comfort: It's just the green that's.
- 20:59Ray Comfort: And so I think about the whole thought of there being life and outer space and asking myself could there be a planet that has what Earth has?
- 21:10Ray Comfort: Cause it's gonna have to have gravity, it's gonna have to have air, it's gonna have to write.
- 21:15Ray Comfort: If it's a human type, life gonna have oxygen, the right mixture within the air.
- 21:20Ray Comfort: It's gonna have soil that yields food, it's gonna have water.
- 21:24Ray Comfort: You go down the list of things that have gotta happen for life to be in outer space and you think the only way it could happen is if God created it like that.
- 21:32Ray Comfort: I like to think there are scientists and there are silly scientists, and silly scientists have got crazy theories about remember the Cinderella, or not Cinderella?
- 21:44Ray Comfort: The three beers, Goldilocks, Goldilocks yeah, that's what they say.
- 21:48Ray Comfort: With Goldilocks, the porridge was too cold or too hot and just right, and they said that's what happened.
- 21:55Ray Comfort: That's why we've got life on Earth, because everything just worked out right.
- 21:59Ray Comfort: Just randomly yeah random and so it would have to happen.
- 22:02Ray Comfort: The same thought for there to be life in outer space and I, without God having a hand in it, I can't see it happening, obviously.
- 22:09Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, mark, what do you think?
- 22:11Emeal Zwayne: What's your perspective?
- 22:12Emeal Zwayne: And again, we haven't talked about this before the podcasts like we do with all podcasts, we don't talk beforehand, so it's good to hear thoughts, perspectives and see where we land.
- 22:21Mark Spence: You know.
- 22:22Mark Spence: Nothing in the Bible indicates that aliens are real, but neither does any part of the Bible strictly refute the existence either.
- 22:29Mark Spence: If somebody has some sort of an experience, and I'll leave it at that I would chalk it more up to the idea of maybe something demonic as opposed to there being actual aliens, you know, in outer space there's just we're left with way too many questions in order for it to take place.
- 22:50Mark Spence: So I know that we all know that the spiritual realm is very real, and because it is very real, people have had many different types of experiences that are just attached to that.
- 23:03Mark Spence: And when you don't know how to explain the spiritual realm, well then you're left with thinking well, it must be something from outer space, because the naturalistic mind does not receive the spiritual right, the ability that we live in a materialistic world, so then we have to explain everything materialistically Demonic.
- 23:24Mark Spence: I leaned to that.
- 23:26Oscar Navarro: In regards to any sort of an experience.
- 23:28Oscar Navarro: Yeah, somebody's experienced this.
- 23:30Mark Spence: somebody might have, but extraterrestrial life.
- 23:32Mark Spence: I don't believe in it, okay.
- 23:35Emeal Zwayne: So, let me first of all, ray, that's good, because there's different definitions.
- 23:38Oscar Navarro: Yeah, it's important that we distinguish what you're saying.
- 23:40Emeal Zwayne: And that's the thing you know.
- 23:41Emeal Zwayne: It's interesting because you'll sometimes get atheists who outright deny the existence of God, and then they'll make room for this, though right, something they've never personally seen, or that they you know, on the basis of what People's testimony?
- 23:57Emeal Zwayne: What about the testimony of those that saw Jesus rise from the dead?
- 24:00Emeal Zwayne: You know so anyway.
- 24:02Emeal Zwayne: But, ray, you made a really good point, and actually this was made by, by secular people, by those that believe in evolution.
- 24:10Emeal Zwayne: It's a real premise, I think, for the whole alien thing.
- 24:13Emeal Zwayne: But listen to this.
- 24:14Emeal Zwayne: In fact, lane, our wonderful assistant here, executive assistant, she she brought this to my attention this morning.
- 24:20Emeal Zwayne: It's called the Fermi Paradox and this is from SETIorg Says is there some evidence suggesting that humans are the galaxy's only intelligent species?
- 24:30Emeal Zwayne: And Rico Fermi thought so, and he was a pretty smart guy.
- 24:34Emeal Zwayne: Could he be right?
- 24:34Emeal Zwayne: In 1950, the famous physicist made a seemingly innocuous lunchtime remark that has caught and held the attention of every SETI researcher since the utterance came when, while Fermi was discussing with his mill-time mates the reasonable possibility that many sophisticated societies populate the galaxy.
- 24:52Emeal Zwayne: But somewhere between one sentence and the next, fermi's supple brain realized that if this was true, it implied something profound.
- 25:00Emeal Zwayne: If there are really a lot of alien societies, then some of them might have spread out.
- 25:04Emeal Zwayne: Fermi grasps that any civilization with a modest amount of rocket technology and a modest amount of imperial incentive could rapidly colonize the entire galaxy.
- 25:13Emeal Zwayne: Within a few tens of millions of years, every star system could be brought under the wing of empire.
- 25:19Emeal Zwayne: Tens of millions of years may sound like a long project, but in fact it's quite short compared to the age of the galaxy, which is roughly a thousand times more.
- 25:27Emeal Zwayne: Obviously, we don't agree with the whole age thing.
- 25:29Emeal Zwayne: But so what Fermi immediately recognized was that the aliens have had more than enough time to pepper the galaxy with their presence.
- 25:36Emeal Zwayne: But looking around, we don't see any clear indication that they're out and about.
- 25:40Emeal Zwayne: We don't see any obvious evidence of a galactic empire or a unified United Federation of Planets.
- 25:45Emeal Zwayne: This prompted Fermi to ask what was to him an obvious question when is everybody?
- 25:51Emeal Zwayne: And the galaxy assumed to be filled with clever beings.
- 25:54Emeal Zwayne: Why don't we see any?
- 25:55Emeal Zwayne: This dissonance is known as a Fermi paradox.
- 25:58Emeal Zwayne: A lot of folks have given this a lot of thought.
- 25:59Emeal Zwayne: The first thing they know is that the Fermi paradox is a remarkably strong argument.
- 26:03Emeal Zwayne: You can see that quibble about the speed of alien spacecraft.
- 26:06Emeal Zwayne: Whether it's 1% the speed of light or 10% the speed of light, it doesn't matter.
- 26:09Emeal Zwayne: You can argue about how long it would take for a few star colony to spawn colonies of its own, it still doesn't matter.
- 26:15Emeal Zwayne: Any halfway reasonable assumption about how fast colonization could take place still end up with the time scale that are enormously shorter than the age of the galaxy.
- 26:25Emeal Zwayne: It's like discussing whether Spanish ships of the 16th century could have a long, a long at two knots or 20.
- 26:30Emeal Zwayne: Either way, they could speedily colonize the Americas.
- 26:34Emeal Zwayne: So the point of that is that, yeah, if they are around, how come they haven't done what we would expect to be done?
- 26:42Oscar Navarro: Well, I guess the only argument against that you already made it, which refutes his argument, which is that if all of creation is only 10,000 years old, then it hasn't had enough time for those galaxies to connect with each other.
- 26:56Oscar Navarro: Because, if you think about here on earth, the world has only been connected, as in Europe and the Americas, for the last 600 years.
- 27:04Oscar Navarro: It's crazy, right.
- 27:05Oscar Navarro: So before 600 years ago, if you were born in Europe, you had no idea not only that North America existed, but there was a potential of other humans on a piece of land that you didn't even know existed.
- 27:19Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, and that's a whole point.
- 27:21Emeal Zwayne: So, going by bi-secular standards they don't have enough time.
- 27:26Emeal Zwayne: But obviously we know the galaxy and the universe isn't that old and so, yeah, it's just ridiculous.
- 27:32Oscar Navarro: So do you think there's life on other planets?
- 27:34Oscar Navarro: I?
- 27:34Emeal Zwayne: don't, I don't.
- 27:35Emeal Zwayne: And let me ask this question.
- 27:39Emeal Zwayne: I want to read something from answers in Genesis.
- 27:40Emeal Zwayne: But why are they always made intelligent?
- 27:43Emeal Zwayne: Why can't there be stupid?
- 27:50Ray Comfort: aliens.
- 27:51Ray Comfort: There is a stupid life in the universe.
- 27:53Ray Comfort: Forget intelligent life.
- 27:55Ray Comfort: Why, I think?
- 27:56Ray Comfort: The thing that intrigues me is they throw in the word other.
- 27:59Ray Comfort: Is there other intelligent life?
- 28:02Ray Comfort: As if we're intelligent.
- 28:04Emeal Zwayne: Yeah.
- 28:04Emeal Zwayne: So let me read what our friends from answers in Genesis said in an article.
- 28:08Emeal Zwayne: In a biblical worldview, we don't expect alien life to exist.
- 28:11Emeal Zwayne: The Bible tells us earth was formed to be inhabited and the other celestial bodies were created for signs, seasons and days Genesis 1.14.
- 28:21Emeal Zwayne: That's a good point and years.
- 28:22Emeal Zwayne: It was to earth that Jesus came to save us, not to another planet to save another race of beings.
- 28:28Emeal Zwayne: So there's more we'll get into, but yeah, what do you think of that, oscar?
- 28:34Oscar Navarro: I think that's a very nearer view of the interpretation of some of those passages that they're quoting, and so do I think that there's extraterrestrial life.
- 28:43Oscar Navarro: I don't know.
- 28:44Oscar Navarro: I like what you said, mark.
- 28:45Oscar Navarro: The scriptures don't make it clear, it doesn't speak on the subject.
- 28:48Oscar Navarro: Like, the scriptures don't tell us that there's such a thing as macaroni and cheese, but that doesn't mean there's no such thing as macaroni and cheese, because the scriptures are not a book that is intended to tell us everything there is to know.
- 29:01Oscar Navarro: The scriptures were written by God to tell us one story, and that is the story of God reconciling the world to himself, and so it doesn't include everything, and God intended for it to not include everything.
- 29:15Oscar Navarro: Augustine believed this.
- 29:17Oscar Navarro: He said that there are two books.
- 29:18Oscar Navarro: There's the book of scriptures, which gives us account of God reconciling the world to himself, and then there's the book of creation, in which we look out into the world and learn about our God by understanding His creation.
- 29:32Emeal Zwayne: Right, the alien Augustine might have said that.
- 29:34Emeal Zwayne: But Augustine, the earthly figure, said something different.
- 29:36Mark Spence: So I'm just curious, oscar, where do you lean, though?
- 29:39Mark Spence: Do you lean that there are aliens, or do you lean that there's not aliens?
- 29:41Oscar Navarro: I lean on, I don't know.
- 29:43Oscar Navarro: Yeah, in here let me explain why.
- 29:45Oscar Navarro: Because, one, the scriptures don't make it clear and I think, I think that it is perfectly reasonable that God created.
- 29:53Oscar Navarro: Well, first off, okay, we have to think about, like, the magnitude of God's creation, and I'll get there in a minute.
- 29:59Oscar Navarro: But I think, first off, it's perfectly reasonable, according to the scriptures which is sort of what Ray was alluding to and you were alluding to by quoting a IG that God created everything for his glory and that there would only be one planet in which life existed.
- 30:18Oscar Navarro: But, more specifically, imago day, life existed and Everything else is simply there to display his glory in his magnitude, to sing of his riches and praise.
- 30:30Oscar Navarro: Because I think, in many way, well, okay, so there, like, I think that it's perfectly reasonable to think that way and I'm compelled to think that way.
- 30:39Oscar Navarro: On the other hand, what do we know about Creation?
- 30:43Oscar Navarro: Very little.
- 30:45Oscar Navarro: Like we've only discovered four percent of our ocean, four percent of our ocean.
- 30:51Oscar Navarro: Every single year we're discovering new life on earth, plants and reptiles and in fish.
- 31:00Oscar Navarro: Like we have yet to fully discover Everything there is to know about our very planet.
- 31:05Oscar Navarro: Right, we know nothing.
- 31:06Oscar Navarro: Essentially, we know nothing about our planet that we live on right now, and there are other planets in our own solar system and, as it pertains to solar system, there are 3,000 other solar systems in our neighborhood of the Milky Way galaxy.
- 31:20Oscar Navarro: In a Milky Way galaxy, there are 10 billion solar systems with their own planets, and the Milky Way galaxy is one of 200 billion galaxies with their own billions of solar systems with their own planets, and so I think it's very self-centered to say we are the only planet where there is life.
- 31:41Oscar Navarro: Now, I use the word life, not intelligent life, because life can be grass, life can be Bacteria, and so I don't.
- 31:53Oscar Navarro: I think it's also perfectly reasonable that God would create bacteria on other planets To sing of his praise to sing, singing bacteria singing bacteria.
- 32:05Oscar Navarro: That's what we are?
- 32:05Oscar Navarro: No, we're not no, but to sing his praise, to magnify his glory, to be as magnificent as he truly is, because, again, he's created parts of our own ocean that we haven't even discovered yet.
- 32:16Oscar Navarro: And so I think it's perfectly reasonable for God to create life on other planets for his glory, and I think it's perfectly reasonable that life, that God did not create life on other planets, because he simply wanted to create life on this planet for his glory.
- 32:33Ray Comfort: So if we have a truly I don't know so if we have a myth, them would sound a war and kill them for sure likely yeah, Mark what are you gonna say Okay?
- 32:41Mark Spence: so would you say then, oscar, that if there's life in outer space, that this life would just be more along the lines of a Different sort of a creature, that's not creating the image of God, so they're not re redemptive, right they're?
- 32:56Mark Spence: They're not, maybe they can't be redeemed, right?
- 33:00Mark Spence: So if there's a creature, maybe there's some sort of a creature, animal, that's out there, just like we have creatures and animals here.
- 33:05Oscar Navarro: I mean, like the blob, yeah, like there's nothing to say that they can't be intelligent right.
- 33:10Mark Spence: So maybe they can create, maybe they can do something further that animals do here.
- 33:14Mark Spence: But these are not creatures created in the image of God that were redeemed at the cross.
- 33:20Oscar Navarro: Yeah, well, I think there's two questions.
- 33:21Oscar Navarro: The question one because I'm alluding to the idea of bacteria being on other planets, and no bacteria is not created the image of God.
- 33:28Oscar Navarro: It's not read.
- 33:29Oscar Navarro: It's not a part of redemptive history.
- 33:30Oscar Navarro: The question, then, is so I don't have any reason to believe there's intelligent life on other planets.
- 33:35Oscar Navarro: But if you found out tomorrow, if we somehow made contact with intelligent life, would that somehow rock your faith, right?
- 33:43Oscar Navarro: No, not at all, not at all.
- 33:44Oscar Navarro: Why not?
- 33:45Oscar Navarro: Well, why would it Exactly so?
- 33:48Oscar Navarro: Why be afraid of saying, yeah, there's a potential for intelligent life.
- 33:51Oscar Navarro: Well, because it doesn't rock my faith.
- 33:53Oscar Navarro: It wouldn't affect the way I view redemptive history.
- 33:55Emeal Zwayne: Let me say this for a jump cent, I would say that good, really good points.
- 34:00Emeal Zwayne: I think, though, sometimes people use this in keeping with, like Theistic evolution and they'll say, well, if you found it, if they found out evidence for evolution of today with that rock your faith, or whatever.
- 34:13Emeal Zwayne: But I think there's a time where we have to say, well, but this doesn't square with scripture, and I know, ultimately that's a question does scripture forbid that there could be the existence of aliens?
- 34:22Emeal Zwayne: I have more to read from answers, and Genesis that builds the case, so I'll do that, but Ray.
- 34:26Ray Comfort: I think I believe an extra trust your life.
- 34:28Ray Comfort: Aren't angels aliens, hmm in a sense.
- 34:32Ray Comfort: Yeah, from outer space, and then they're earth and speak to people not from here.
- 34:39Emeal Zwayne: So the article goes on.
- 34:41Emeal Zwayne: It says, however, the notion of alien life does not square well with scripture.
- 34:44Emeal Zwayne: The earth is unique.
- 34:45Emeal Zwayne: God designed the earth for life, isaiah 45, 18.
- 34:49Emeal Zwayne: The other planets have an entirely different purpose than does the earth, and thus they are designed differently.
- 34:54Emeal Zwayne: In Genesis 1 we read that God created plants on the earth on day 3, birds to fly in the atmosphere and marine life to swim in the ocean on day 5, an animal to inhabit the land on day 6.
- 35:04Emeal Zwayne: Human beings were also made on day 6 and we're given dominion over the animals.
- 35:08Emeal Zwayne: But where does the Bible discuss the creation of life on the lights and the expanses of the heavens?
- 35:13Emeal Zwayne: There is no such description, because the lights in the expanse were not designed to accommodate life.
- 35:18Emeal Zwayne: God gave care of the earth to man, but the heavens are the lords.
- 35:22Emeal Zwayne: From biblical perspective, extra-strestrials life does not seem reasonable.
- 35:26Ray Comfort: Isn't every planet that we discover hostile to life?
- 35:30Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, so far, so far, yeah, yeah.
- 35:33Emeal Zwayne: And then comes in that what you posed mark the redemption question.
- 35:36Emeal Zwayne: When we consider how the salvation plan might apply to any Hypothetical extraterrestrial but otherwise human-like beings, we are presented with a problem.
- 35:47Emeal Zwayne: If there were Vulcans or Klingons out there, how would they be saved?
- 35:51Emeal Zwayne: They're not blood relatives of Jesus, and so Christ shed blood cannot pay for their sin.
- 35:55Emeal Zwayne: One might at first suppose that Christ also visited their world, lived there and died there as well, but this is anti-biblical.
- 36:03Emeal Zwayne: Christ died once for all, and then the scriptures are cited Jesus is now and forever both God and man, but he is not alien.
- 36:11Emeal Zwayne: Think of that, mark I.
- 36:15Mark Spence: I like it.
- 36:15Mark Spence: No, I think that is that by Georgia.
- 36:18Emeal Zwayne: Purdom, I'm not sure who wrote the article.
- 36:21Emeal Zwayne: Actually it's from AIG, but I think yeah, yeah.
- 36:24Mark Spence: No, I mean I I don't typically get into discussions like this.
- 36:29Mark Spence: I mean my mind doesn't even kind of even wander into this place, but uh, yeah, you know, whatever, yeah.
- 36:37Emeal Zwayne: Listen to this, one might.
- 36:38Emeal Zwayne: One might suppose that alien beings have.
- 36:41Emeal Zwayne: One might suppose that alien beings have never sinned, and which case they would not need to be redeemed.
- 36:45Emeal Zwayne: But then another problem emerges they suffer the effects of sin despite having never sinned.
- 36:50Emeal Zwayne: Adam.
- 36:51Emeal Zwayne: Sin has affected all of creation, not just mankind.
- 36:54Emeal Zwayne: Romans 8, 20, 22 that's a good point makes it clear that the entirety of creation suffers under the bondage of corruption.
- 37:01Emeal Zwayne: These kinds of issues highlight the problem of attempting to incorporate an anti-biblical notion into the Christian worldview.
- 37:06Emeal Zwayne: And finally, extra-terrestrial life is an evolutionary concept.
- 37:09Emeal Zwayne: It does not comport with the biblical teachings of the uniqueness of the earth and the distinct spiritual position of human beings of all the worlds in the universe.
- 37:17Emeal Zwayne: It was the earth that God Himself visited, taking on the additional nature of a human being, dying on a cross and rising from the dead in order to redeem all who would trust in him.
- 37:26Emeal Zwayne: The local worldview sharply contrasts with the secular worldview when it comes to alien life.
- 37:31Emeal Zwayne: Ray, do you, do you think, I mean, do you sense that the the whole notion of Aliens extra-terrestrial is rooted in evolutionary theory, that life must have evolved elsewhere too?
- 37:43Ray Comfort: I think so every time I read any.
- 37:45Ray Comfort: I did a little bit of study on it and some research and all seem to tie in with evolutionary theory.
- 37:50Ray Comfort: But there's a I think there's a reason.
- 37:53Ray Comfort: We hear of people having contact with aliens.
- 37:56Ray Comfort: If you can Get a great story, you become famous.
- 38:00Ray Comfort: In fiction.
- 38:00Ray Comfort: Oh, there's an incentive to lie about stuff like this.
- 38:03Ray Comfort: I mean a good incentive for the world, and so I.
- 38:07Ray Comfort: I carry a Lot of skepticism when it comes to any alien.
- 38:12Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I mean I, I think, mark, you got a good point on the demonic Realm and I think that's easily overlooked.
- 38:19Emeal Zwayne: You know as well, and and people write that off, you know.
- 38:23Emeal Zwayne: I mean, look, we hear about within Catholicism all these apparitions, I mean these miraculous things happening, and look I know I'm going to offend a lot of people here, but I hope you know I say it very respectfully, but truthfully I think anything that distracts from Christ, especially within the religious realm, could very well be demonic.
- 38:43Emeal Zwayne: Amen, you agree, guys?
- 38:45Emeal Zwayne: No, I do.
- 38:46Oscar Navarro: Yeah, I think I 100% agree with that, and I think that there's a lot of we're kind of jumping around in that article, kind of like leapfrogs a few questions that I would have in regards to this subject, which is like one what do we mean by extraterrestrial life?
- 39:00Oscar Navarro: Are we talking about bacteria or intelligent?
- 39:02Oscar Navarro: And it also presupposes that if there is intelligent life, then that life must be created in the image of God, which I don't think that we should presuppose that If we met intelligent life from other planets I'm not saying that there is, but I'm just saying if I, if I did, it wouldn't rock my faith and I wouldn't assume that they're created in the image of God, in the same way that I don't assume that any other creature is created in the image of God.
- 39:24Oscar Navarro: And so I don't.
- 39:26Oscar Navarro: I think that it leapfrogs a few areas that we have to really flesh out into this.
- 39:30Oscar Navarro: But then there's another subject entirely, which you guys have alluded to, which is the idea that people have some sort of contact with aliens, that they've been abducted, they've witnessed and seen.
- 39:39Oscar Navarro: And yeah, I mean I fully agree with you.
- 39:40Oscar Navarro: I think in that context, under that heading nah, I don't, I don't, I don't, I've never heard of a story, I've never seen evidence that would compel me to believe that aliens have an interest in some middle-aged dude sitting in his home, that they want to observe him, probe him, take him up to their space station and have a conversation with them.
- 40:03Oscar Navarro: Like that makes absolutely zero sense to me and I think it's delusions of grandeur, I think it's demonic, I think it's, you know, mental health issues potentially, I don't know.
- 40:13Oscar Navarro: But I'm confident to say that those accounts are not accurate.
- 40:17Oscar Navarro: It counts yeah.
- 40:18Emeal Zwayne: Mark, do you think some have also said another possibility is it's government conspiracy.
- 40:25Emeal Zwayne: In other words, you know, the government has been kind of preparing us for some sort of catastrophe.
- 40:32Emeal Zwayne: Oh, the aliens are coming.
- 40:34Ray Comfort: Well, the aliens have been laying in right across the board of the news.
- 40:38Emeal Zwayne: I'm sitting right here, right, yeah, right, but you know what I mean.
- 40:41Emeal Zwayne: Like in order to usurp more power, like you know, to bring out of what many have said, you know, order out of chaos, and now we need to band together, but we need controls and we need you know where they usurp more authority over people.
- 40:53Mark Spence: Yeah, I think that's very possible.
- 40:54Mark Spence: You know it's all a conspiracy until it's proven true.
- 40:56Mark Spence: You know there's a lot of things that are kind of happening out there that are unexplainable.
- 41:01Mark Spence: You know, is our government behind?
- 41:03Mark Spence: Is our government behind that atrocious act, or that?
- 41:05Mark Spence: I think that happened within our history, I don't know.
- 41:08Mark Spence: But the beautiful thing that we do have is we know that God is ultimately in control of all things.
- 41:13Mark Spence: Yeah, we have to remember that we are aliens.
- 41:16Mark Spence: Right, we are foreigners in a foreign land that are just kind of passing through, homesick for a home we've never been to.
- 41:21Mark Spence: We don't fit in, we do not belong here.
- 41:25Mark Spence: Yeah, oscar, there was some time ago where you quoted CS Lewis concerning about if we don't fit in, the only natural explanation is that we were built for another place.
- 41:36Oscar Navarro: Made for another home.
- 41:37Mark Spence: Yeah, and that's the case, right.
- 41:39Mark Spence: There's nothing a Christian can do to fill at home here on earth.
- 41:46Mark Spence: Yeah, and so it is.
- 41:47Mark Spence: If we have that mindset that we are just passing through, then we will utilize the resources that God has given us for the purpose for which he's given them to us, which is to bring Him glory, and it'll be ultimately for our good.
- 42:01Mark Spence: So, are there aliens in outer space?
- 42:02Mark Spence: I don't know, but there are aliens on earth and that's the Christian, and let's tell everybody about Christ as quickly as we possibly can.
- 42:11Mark Spence: Amen.
- 42:12Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, Ray, I mean, ultimately it's this kind of stuff that can distract Christians from preaching the gospel True.
- 42:19Emeal Zwayne: Don't you think Like they get so caught up in it, they're watching every news item, they're researching and it's like, okay, well, whatever.
- 42:27Emeal Zwayne: Again, I don't believe there are aliens.
- 42:30Emeal Zwayne: I believe you know I've fallen in line with the article, but okay, what if there was?
- 42:36Emeal Zwayne: What's that change anything about what God has said about our plan and the need for redemption?
- 42:41Ray Comfort: I asked a guy the other day who had all these theories and he didn't believe the Bible and he twisted some Bible verses.
- 42:47Ray Comfort: He had an incredible imagination.
- 42:49Ray Comfort: So I just said to him if you be watching the History Channel and the Discovery Channel?
- 42:52Ray Comfort: He says yeah, I do it all the time.
- 42:54Oscar Navarro: And that's where he's getting it from.
- 42:55Ray Comfort: It's just the imaginations of men tapping into an area that they know that's going to get believed by the simple.
- 43:03Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, wow, it's so good, and so we have to stay focused.
- 43:06Emeal Zwayne: Friends, eternity is coming, souls are lost.
- 43:09Emeal Zwayne: We are ambassadors for Christ.
- 43:12Emeal Zwayne: Right, we're not of this world, we are aliens as Christians, and that we've been born again and will belong to another kingdom.
- 43:19Ray Comfort: The Bible uses that word too, doesn't it?
- 43:21Ray Comfort: Yeah, the word aliens.
- 43:21Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, exactly, hebrews talks about how we're aliens.
- 43:24Emeal Zwayne: And so, friends, keep that focus and look.
- 43:28Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, the entire universe and its massive expanse is enough to exist for the purpose of glorifying God, to show how massive he is, that he spans the universe with his hand, that heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain him.
- 43:44Emeal Zwayne: Listen to Psalm 19, 1-4 as we end on worship.
- 43:48Emeal Zwayne: The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows his handiwork.
- 43:53Emeal Zwayne: Day under day utter speech and night under night reveals knowledge.
- 43:55Emeal Zwayne: There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
- 43:58Emeal Zwayne: Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the ends of the world.
- 44:03Emeal Zwayne: Psalm 147, 4-5,.
- 44:06Emeal Zwayne: He counts the numbers of the stars.
- 44:07Emeal Zwayne: He calls them all by name.
- 44:08Emeal Zwayne: Great is our Lord and mighty in power.
- 44:11Emeal Zwayne: His understanding is infinite.
- 44:13Emeal Zwayne: Psalm 148, 3-6,.
- 44:15Emeal Zwayne: Praise him, son and Moon.
- 44:17Emeal Zwayne: Praise him all you stars of light.
- 44:18Emeal Zwayne: Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens.
- 44:21Emeal Zwayne: Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created.
- 44:25Emeal Zwayne: He also established them forever and ever.
- 44:27Emeal Zwayne: He made a decree which shall not pass away.
- 44:30Emeal Zwayne: Isaiah 40, 26,.
- 44:32Emeal Zwayne: Lift up your eyes on high and see who created these, he who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name.
- 44:39Emeal Zwayne: By the greatness of his might and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.
- 44:44Emeal Zwayne: And finally, job 9, 7 and 9,.
- 44:47Emeal Zwayne: He commands the sun and it does not rise.
- 44:48Emeal Zwayne: He seals off the stars.
- 44:49Emeal Zwayne: He alone spreads out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.
- 44:54Emeal Zwayne: He made the bear, orion and ladies and the chambers of the south so good.
- 45:00Oscar Navarro: So I wanted to end on that friends, worship him.
- 45:04Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, forget the blob and preach the gospel, amen.
- 45:06Emeal Zwayne: Worship him in deed and truth and make him known for the glory of his great name.
