- 0:00We live in an information age. We literally have the world at our fingertips,
- 0:04and sometimes that can actually stop us from taking action.
- 0:09So in today's episode, episode number 98 of the Health with Hashimoto's podcast,
- 0:14I'm going to tell you exactly how to get results when we live in an information age.
- 0:20And it does not come down to having yet another course on your computer computer
- 0:27that you don't access anymore. I don't know about you.
- 0:30I have a whole bunch of courses. I love information.
- 0:34Do you as well? I mean, you're a
- 0:36podcast listener and people who listen to podcasts tend to love to learn.
- 0:41You love to learn about your health. You love to learn about the world around you.
- 0:46You love to learn about how to relate to others and how to improve relationships
- 0:51and how to improve so many different aspects of your health.
- 0:54And in this information age, sometimes we can get stuck learning,
- 0:59always learning and never doing.
- 1:01But my goal with this podcast, the Health of Hashimoto's podcast,
- 1:05is to help you take action.
- 1:07My goal is to help you learn what your root causes are and be able to address them.
- 1:13Because if you are not addressing your root causes of your Hashimoto's,
- 1:17you will continue to have more and more symptoms.
- 1:20In fact, if you ignore the autoimmune part of the diagnosis,
- 1:25and I feel like it's easy to do because a lot of doctors and providers will
- 1:31just say, you have Hashimoto's, here, take this medication.
- 1:33They don't even explain it's an autoimmune problem. So if you ignore the autoimmune
- 1:37problem of the diagnosis.
- 1:39Then you're not going to be able to recognize even that there are things to
- 1:44do, that there is an immune system that is crying out for help,
- 1:48an immune system that has has gone haywire and that needs attention.
- 1:52And there are things you can do. If you don't know there are things to do,
- 1:55I guess that's the number one thing I want you to learn from the past 97 episodes.
- 2:00There are things you can do for your health.
- 2:04Hashimoto's is not a sentence that you have to be on medications that increase
- 2:11over time and your thyroid will eventually die. That is not your sentence.
- 2:16You have a life in front of you and you get to enjoy that life.
- 2:21And hopefully through the things that you learn on this podcast,
- 2:25you have discovered how to increase your energy.
- 2:29And like so many women saying, I just want to feel like myself again.
- 2:32And that is my goal for you. I want you to feel like yourself again.
- 2:36Last week in episode 97, I talked about starting now, not letting the summer derail your health.
- 2:44And that also pertains to these courses. So the other day, several of my friends
- 2:49and I were talking and we're all podcasters.
- 2:52So we were talking about podcasting and specifically, we were talking about
- 2:55two different courses that are for podcasters.
- 2:59Now, some of us have been through course one, some of us has been through course
- 3:04two, actually A and B, they're from two two different people.
- 3:07And there were some differences.
- 3:09And in explaining the differences as a group, the goal was to help people figure
- 3:16out which course to enroll in.
- 3:18And it really helped me understand how to tell you about the course.
- 3:22Because I have a course. It is the Holistic Hashimoto's course.
- 3:26And it is wonderful for women or men who are looking to address the root causes of their Hashimoto's.
- 3:33You know that Hashimoto's is an autoimmune condition.
- 3:36You know sometimes what you need to address and sometimes you don't know that.
- 3:41And I will take you by the hand and lead you through exactly what to do.
- 3:44But I realized that you need to know the difference between different courses
- 3:50because there are a lot of courses out there.
- 3:52One person messaged me on Instagram. They're like, I feel like every Hashimoto's
- 3:57expert has a course they want to sell me.
- 3:58And I'm like, well, I, I do have a course. So if you're trying to ask if I have
- 4:04a course or not, I mean, I do.
- 4:05I have a lot of free stuff. I have nearly a hundred episodes on the podcast
- 4:09to give this information to you for free.
- 4:12If you want to shortcut your time, the course is for you.
- 4:16And I did not hear back from her. So I don't know, maybe she was just looking
- 4:20for somebody who did not have a course, but that's why I created the course
- 4:23was to shortcut your time. Like I am freely giving you information every single week on the podcast.
- 4:29You can get into the app, the Health with Hashimoto's app, and you can go through
- 4:33the mini course for free and you can identify your root causes.
- 4:36You can learn what to ask your doctor. I have so many resources for you.
- 4:41And then to shortcut your time, I have the paid course.
- 4:45So first, let me tell you what my course is not.
- 4:48And I am going to relate it to the two podcast courses that people were in my
- 4:53little group that we were talking about.
- 4:55Now, PodCourse, PodCourse, Course A, Course A was, they're both the same price.
- 5:03So, you know, they're equal that way. And it was for the advanced student when
- 5:09you, or it is for the advanced student.
- 5:11When you enroll into that course, you enter into the dashboard and everything
- 5:16is available to you all at once.
- 5:18The person in our group who was talking about this, she said,
- 5:22there is tons of information and it is all available to you.
- 5:26It is everything available all at once. Everything that you would want to know,
- 5:30every question that you would have, it's in there somewhere.
- 5:34But what she said is it's overwhelming. And she got paralyzed.
- 5:37There was so much information. She didn't know exactly where to start.
- 5:41And she said, you know, honestly, I haven't made progress, but I will go back and do it later.
- 5:47I will go back and I will get my money's worth out of that course.
- 5:51But as for now, everything was available to her at once. She got overwhelmed
- 5:56and didn't know where to start.
- 5:57And in the Hashimoto's world, that is so common because there's so much information out there.
- 6:03You can check out, you know, five or 10 books from the library or,
- 6:07you know, buy them from your local, your local bookstore.
- 6:10There's so much information and it's good information. The thing is a lot of
- 6:14the information, it contradicts the other good information.
- 6:17Like we've talked about before on the podcast, there are so many things like
- 6:21expert A with a lot of research behind them to back up what they're going to say.
- 6:25They say one thing and then expert B with a whole lot of research behind what
- 6:29they say, they say something that directly contradicts expert A, and they're both right.
- 6:35But how do you know what's right for you? That is your job when you have an autoimmune problem.
- 6:40You will get to figure out what works for you and what doesn't work for you,
- 6:45what applies to you and what doesn't apply to you, what your next step is,
- 6:51and what works for your friend.
- 6:52You have to figure out your own path.
- 6:56And when you you enter into a course where everything is available,
- 7:00sometimes it can feel like it's just too much. You don't know where to start.
- 7:04So the other podcasting course, it was laid out more like my Hashimoto's course,
- 7:11the holistic Hashimoto's course.
- 7:12And it was described as this way. There's one week at a time and you know exactly what to do.
- 7:19And the people in my group who are all talking about these two courses,
- 7:23they said that was what they needed.
- 7:25They needed to know exactly what to do this week.
- 7:28And they could not advance to next week until next week. Like they couldn't just learn and not do.
- 7:35They had to learn the information and apply it.
- 7:39And they didn't get the information for week two until week two.
- 7:43Like the calendar had to switch over to seven days from now.
- 7:46And then they got that information and they were so grateful for it because
- 7:51they said that in the past they would learn some information and then just want
- 7:55to move on and learn more information without doing the work.
- 7:59And they would have intentions to come back and do the work or they would do part of the work.
- 8:04They would get started and then not finish the work, just go on to the next thing.
- 8:08And I totally relate to that. they said having
- 8:11it laid out one week at a time at a
- 8:14time was super motivating and they
- 8:17said they were making tons of progress
- 8:20they were doing each week and they were finishing on time and they felt like
- 8:24they were moving forward with their podcast and obviously you're not starting
- 8:29a podcast you are working on your Hashimoto's but that's what you want to do
- 8:33you want to be able to make progress progress and shortcut the time of helping your body,
- 8:40supporting your body, do what it's supposed to do.
- 8:42That's our goal. Help your body do what it's supposed to do.
- 8:46Our immune systems are not supposed to be all haywire and wonky.
- 8:49Our immune systems are not supposed to be attacking ourselves.
- 8:53Our tissues, and our organs.
- 8:55Our immune systems are designed to be attacking foreign invaders, not our thyroids.
- 9:00We don't want our immune systems attacking our thyroids. So it is our job as
- 9:04somebody who has an autoimmune condition to address the root causes.
- 9:10If you're not addressing the root causes, you're not going to make long-term
- 9:14progress in your disease.
- 9:16Like you have to address the root causes. So if you go into a course and everything
- 9:22is available all at once and you get paralyzed, you get overwhelmed,
- 9:26paralyzed, and you don't make any progress, then it was a waste of your money.
- 9:30Now, is there a place and a time for those courses?
- 9:32There absolutely is. With the podcast course A, I know somebody else,
- 9:37she wasn't in this conversation, but she had a lot of results,
- 9:42fantastic results with that course.
- 9:44It met her where she was. She was really advanced.
- 9:48She was too advanced actually for the course that was step-by-step because she
- 9:53had already been through a lot of those steps.
- 9:56And she was working on plugging the holes of what was left, like figuring out
- 10:01where do I need to focus on and then work on just those things.
- 10:07So she was advanced and ready for that. My course, the Holistic Hashimoto's
- 10:12course, is designed for you if you are overwhelmed and if you need to know exactly what to do next.
- 10:19And let me tell you what you're going to do in the course. In week one,
- 10:24you're going to learn essentially where you are and where you're going.
- 10:27You're going to learn about the basics and do a whole person inventory.
- 10:33As you know, from listening to previous episodes, as you probably know,
- 10:37I help you look at your health in five different areas, body,
- 10:40mind, spirit, diet, environment.
- 10:43So you're really looking at where are you, where, how are you doing,
- 10:47I guess, in each of those areas and where you need to focus on first,
- 10:53what root causes, what triggers are specific to you and then what you need it to do.
- 11:00You're also going to figure out what does better health look like and feel like for you.
- 11:05Like, we don't want it to be vague because if it's vague, you won't know when
- 11:09you hit it and you won't know where you are.
- 11:12We really want to know what is your goal?
- 11:15What does it look like? What does it feel like? What does, quote,
- 11:19feel like myself again? What does that actually feel like?
- 11:22Does it mean that you're not taking in a nap every single day?
- 11:25Does it mean that your symptoms of depression are less?
- 11:29And if so, then what does that look like?
- 11:32What does it look like for you to feel better again?
- 11:37And then, of course, we're looking at how are you going to get there,
- 11:40looking at your own triggers and what to work on.
- 11:43Week number two, we tackle the biggest trigger for so many people, which is stress.
- 11:50And it really helps you work on that trigger.
- 11:53Because if you are alive today, you probably have stress.
- 11:58I don't know anybody who doesn't. And so we all have to learn how to to decrease
- 12:03our stress, and how to manage the stress that we have.
- 12:06We cannot get rid of all of the stress. It's just not possible.
- 12:09And you know, some stress is healthy. Like your body needs some stress in order to run.
- 12:15You need some stress, but we don't
- 12:17want too much stress. So we're really focusing on stress in week two.
- 12:21Also, we're focusing on that genetic component. Everybody who has an autoimmune
- 12:25problem has three things.
- 12:27You have a gut component, a genetic component, and one or more triggers.
- 12:33Oh, I forgot to tell you also, as soon as you get in to the course,
- 12:37there is a gut health ebook that really walks you through like customizing what
- 12:44would be best for your gut.
- 12:46Everybody's journey is different. All right, so then week three,
- 12:49we dive into the gut and diet.
- 12:52Diet is a huge topic. Every time I do a podcast episode that mentions the word
- 12:57diet or mentions like what foods to cut out.
- 13:00I know that it's going to be a popular one.
- 13:03You like to listen to it because there's so much information on diet and there's
- 13:07so much contradictory information about what to eat if you have an autoimmune
- 13:11problem or if you have Hashimoto's or if you have a thyroid problem.
- 13:14People come at it from all different angles and give you contradictory advice.
- 13:19So week three is helping you figure out what is your best next step for your
- 13:25gut health and your diet.
- 13:27And then in week four, we talk about toxins and your liver health.
- 13:33We really want to focus on your liver and all the things that you can do to
- 13:38support it so that it can do its job of helping clean out the junk from your
- 13:44body because we are surrounded by so many chemicals.
- 13:47And so again, if you are alive today, I know that environmental chemicals are
- 13:52one of your triggers, or at least they are a component of your current state
- 13:58of health because they're for everybody.
- 14:01Like even I talk about in the course, and I've mentioned it on the podcast before,
- 14:05even babies today are born already with so many chemicals already in them.
- 14:11They test the umbilical cord blood, and there's already chemical exposures.
- 14:16So we all know that we have some work to do there.
- 14:19So that's one thing that you're going to work on in step four or in week four.
- 14:24And then I did just add the bonus that was promised.
- 14:28It is how to eat a cookie or other forbidden food. Forbidden is in quotation marks.
- 14:34There's really like nothing is forbidden, right? You have free will.
- 14:38You can choose to eat what you want. But we all know that there are things that
- 14:42if we eat them, we don't feel as good after. maybe it sends you into a Hashimoto's
- 14:47flare, maybe it sends you just some symptoms, or it causes pain.
- 14:52Or maybe you just don't feel quite as alert, or maybe you know that it doesn't
- 14:57support your dietary goals whatsoever.
- 14:59And so there are always in our lives, there are things that we really don't
- 15:05feel like we should be eating without should word.
- 15:08And so I teach you a whole bunch bunch of different tricks. I think I have seven
- 15:12different tips and tricks in how to eat those things.
- 15:16And I walk you through how to eat a cookie to lower the impact,
- 15:20the negative impact that it has on your body.
- 15:23Yeah. So a lot of different little tips in there. That is the bonus lesson.
- 15:28And that also is available during week four.
- 15:32That is the course. And like I said, it is one week at a time so that you know
- 15:37exactly what to do and when to do it.
- 15:39And yet at the same time, I'm not giving you tons of information.
- 15:44You're not going to spend 40 hours a week on this course.
- 15:47You're busy. You don't have time for that. You need to be able to sit down with
- 15:51a course and say, okay, what am I learning this week?
- 15:54Go ahead and learn it. It's going to take you less than an hour.
- 15:57Then you can say, okay, how do I implement this for the next week?
- 16:01What are my action steps? And I'm going to give you those.
- 16:04And then you're going to have usually a couple podcast episodes if you want
- 16:09to dig deeper and review other episodes that I've done on that specific topic,
- 16:15or, you know, further learning.
- 16:17I have those for you. And I do
- 16:20list them by numbers, but they're also available directly in the course.
- 16:24So you never have to leave the course and go to the podcast app.
- 16:27But they're all in there. Every single week, I give you exactly what to do because
- 16:33I don't want you to be overwhelmed.
- 16:34I want you to be able to take action and to start now.
- 16:39Like I said last week, you want to be able to start now and start small.
- 16:44Don't let summer derail your health.
- 16:48Don't let the start of school derail your health. Don't let a vacation derail
- 16:53your health. Your health is really important.
- 16:55And by doing small steps, you can prioritize your health no matter what's going on.
- 17:02Sometimes it might be as small as taking some deep diaphragmatic breaths.
- 17:07And that is what you can do today. But at the same time, you are prioritizing
- 17:13what you can do. And that counts.
- 17:16So hop into the app right now or as soon as possible and start now. Now, start small.
- 17:22Start with the Hashimoto's Decoded free course and then move to the next step.
- 17:26I want you to be able to make progress. I don't want you to be stuck.
- 17:30I don't want you to feel like you are throwing spaghetti at the wall. Have you ever done that?
- 17:36I just thought it was a phrase that people said for the longest time and then
- 17:41somebody actually did it. And I was like, oh, wait, what?
- 17:43Like you actually throw spaghetti at the wall? So if you don't know about it,
- 17:48And that's how some people test to see if their spaghetti is ready.
- 17:51Because if you throw a spaghetti noodle at the wall, and it's not ready yet,
- 17:55it will just hit the wall and bounce off.
- 17:57And if it's ready, it's a little stickier, and it will stick to the wall.
- 18:00So funny, when I first learned that, I was like, Oh, my goodness,
- 18:04you actually have spaghetti on your wall.
- 18:06And I mean, they did not keep it on the wall for long. They just threw it up somewhere.
- 18:11You know, checked to see if it would stick and then took it down.
- 18:13But it just cracked me up.
- 18:15So anyway, I don't want you to be doing that. Throwing spaghetti at the wall
- 18:18to see what sticks and what works and then what doesn't, what just bounces off.
- 18:23You don't want to do that in your health. You don't have time for that. You are busy.
- 18:26Like you have so many different things that you're doing and you do not have time to feel less than.
- 18:33I don't want you to feel less than. When people talk to me and they describe
- 18:36how they feel, sometimes they just cry and they say, I feel less than myself.
- 18:42I don't feel worthy. I feel like I am constantly failing. I feel like I'm constantly coming up short.
- 18:49I cannot be the person who I needed to be. And the tears just come.
- 18:55I don't want that for you. I want you to find hope and to find solutions that
- 19:00are going to work for you.
- 19:02And that is exactly what you're going to get in the Holistic Hashimoto's course.
- 19:06Us one week at a time. You're going to know exactly what to do.
- 19:08You're going to get your solutions. You're going to be able to make progress.
- 19:12You are worth it. Head down to the show notes and click the link so you can
- 19:16join now and start today.
- 19:18Remember, start small, start now.
- 19:21And clicking that enroll button is one way to start small.
- 19:25This podcast is for informational and educational purposes only.
