- 0:00you deserve to share yourself freely,
- 0:02not waiting to feel the absence of shame,
- 0:05or fear, or doubt, or confusion,
- 0:07or feeling not good enough,
- 0:09but recognizing that your soul has come to embody courage.
- 0:13And that is why you feel afraid.
- 0:15Your art is magic, your work is magic,
- 0:18your voice is magic,
- 0:19and we are waiting with open arms to receive you
- 0:22and to hold what you are here to share
- 0:24with absolute gratitude for your generosity,
- 0:27for your spirit, for your artistry,
- 0:29the artistry of your being,
- 0:31the artistry of your making,
- 0:32the poetry of your existence.
- 0:35Hello, divine being.
- 0:36This has found you because your perspective is needed.
- 0:41Your perspective is longed for.
- 0:42It is craved, it is yearned for.
- 0:45We long to hear how you see the world.
- 0:48You fear being seen,
- 0:49and yet we desire to see what you see,
- 0:53to see through how you see.
- 0:55And so it's all part of a very beautiful divine plan
- 0:59that is unfolding for and through you.
- 1:01And as you step into more visibility, more purpose,
- 1:04more creation this year,
- 1:06there is one mindset that I just wanna give to you
- 1:09that is so helpful, especially for creators
- 1:12who are using the digital space as a way
- 1:14to share their message, or their art, or their business,
- 1:17or their soul-led offering to the world, okay?
- 1:20As you do that, this idea can help you reduce the pressure
- 1:25that you place on each of the ideas that you share.
- 1:28I'm someone who has created on multiple different platforms,
- 1:31TikTok, Substack, YouTube, podcasting,
- 1:34and something that supported me so much
- 1:36is reducing the pressure on any individual creation
- 1:40in service of a more holistic and ecosystem body of work mindset.
- 1:45What I call this shift from hyperfixating on one video,
- 1:50one podcast, one creation, to a body of work and ecosystem,
- 1:54something vast and generous built over years.
- 1:57I call it the mosaic mindset, just like let that sink in,
- 2:01let that flow, let that be with you today in the salsa lawn.
- 2:04A mosaic mindset is the idea that as you share yourself
- 2:09with the world, as you write on your blog or on Substack,
- 2:13or you grow your newsletter list,
- 2:15as you share your art on Instagram,
- 2:17as you create TikTok videos, a way of seeing
- 2:20that can allow you to actually be prolific,
- 2:23like share yourself with the world,
- 2:25offer something to the collective,
- 2:26is by thinking of your creativity as a mosaic.
- 2:30And so instead of each individual video,
- 2:32or each individual blog post or Substack essay,
- 2:35being this big drama around how it could have been better,
- 2:38and it's not good enough,
- 2:39and the perfectionism just speaking to us again and again and again,
- 2:43being that partner on the dance floor
- 2:45that will not let us go.
- 2:46Okay, I know her.
- 2:48I've danced with her, she hasn't let me go,
- 2:50but the mosaic mindset allows you to zoom out and see your creativity
- 2:55in a more holistic and long term way.
- 2:58So what do we mean by this, by that, by all of these things?
- 3:01Okay, so when you post a video on TikTok, it's just a video.
- 3:04When you create an episode, it's just an episode,
- 3:07and it's a beautiful,
- 3:08if actually know what, let me not minimize it that way,
- 3:10because every creation is divine creation,
- 3:12and also every creation is co-creation.
- 3:16This is so fundamental to what I believe is that
- 3:18there is nothing that is created individually,
- 3:21whether it's the things you've read,
- 3:22the people who've raised you,
- 3:23the culture you come from,
- 3:24the language you perceive reality through,
- 3:27the book that led you to see the world in that specific way
- 3:30that was apportal to you,
- 3:31understanding or seeing or being in the world in that way,
- 3:34the artists who have shaped you and made you,
- 3:37the thinkers, the healers, the feelers, the family members,
- 3:40like we are all a part of this co-creative process of life.
- 3:48We're co-creating with the air that we breathe,
- 3:50we're co-creating with the conversations that we've had,
- 3:53we're co-creating with the universe at all times,
- 3:55we are a co-creation, and so we co-create.
- 3:58And so as we do that, we need to recognize
- 4:00that we are eternally worthy of creating babes,
- 4:03because we are part of the chorus of life,
- 4:05you are part of the chorus of life,
- 4:07and it is not your role to silence yourself
- 4:09in fear of what may go wrong.
- 4:11So what the Mosaic mindset unlocks for you or can,
- 4:14is this idea that, okay, yes, I feel like the perfectionism
- 4:17is speaking to me in this one video.
- 4:19I feel like my energy could be different.
- 4:21I feel like I could have brought in this resource
- 4:23or this idea why I didn't bring in this perspective.
- 4:26But when I zoom out, does this fit into a holistic body
- 4:29of work that I feel proud of?
- 4:30Is this the vibration that I feel proud of?
- 4:32Did I try?
- 4:33Did I try to be creative?
- 4:35Did I try to be generous?
- 4:36Did I try to be love and speak love
- 4:38and be generous with my wisdom
- 4:40and what I've come to see in the world?
- 4:42I created this artwork.
- 4:44I could have changed this element or that element,
- 4:47but I'm choosing to share it,
- 4:48because this is part of the mosaic of my creation.
- 4:51Over time, this beautiful archive
- 4:54or body of work starts to develop.
- 4:56And my love, something that no one tells you
- 4:58is that everything you create is almost like a breadcrumb.
- 5:01And we don't know which breadcrumb is going to lead
- 5:04to your ideal human being on this earth, finding you.
- 5:07You may think this is gonna be the video that changes everything
- 5:10or this is going to be the blog post
- 5:12that rarely speaks to people and resonates.
- 5:14This is gonna be the recipe that people connect to
- 5:16and leave comments on and engage with
- 5:18but actually none of us knows.
- 5:20None of us knows how any of this is going to unfold.
- 5:23And the digital space is kind of like creating more surface area
- 5:27for aligned opportunities, people, clients, community,
- 5:31peers, collaborators, mentors to find you.
- 5:34So the greater the surface area that you offer us,
- 5:37the more room we have to connect with you,
- 5:40to reach out for you, to reach for your voice.
- 5:42So if you just reduce the pressure on each thing
- 5:45that you create and say,
- 5:46you know in this podcast episode that you are listening to
- 5:48or you are watching right now in this sole session,
- 5:51I feel like my energy could be different.
- 5:52Like I feel usually I'm much more excited enthusiastic.
- 5:55I'm wearing my glasses, maybe that's part of it.
- 5:58Everyone in the glasses crew, we are here together.
- 6:00I have really weak eyes.
- 6:02In a different time of my earth experience,
- 6:03I wouldn't have survived.
- 6:04Like I wouldn't have been able to see.
- 6:06And I feel like, oh, I could start this again.
- 6:08I could do this differently.
- 6:10But I'm choosing to accept that this creation
- 6:13is part of my mosaic, okay?
- 6:15It's part of the mosaic of my creativity.
- 6:18We get to learn from this art form that's ancient.
- 6:22And we can say, what is there for me to gather from this?
- 6:24What is the wisdom of the mosaic?
- 6:27What a mosaic communicates is the patience of the artist,
- 6:30the vision of the artist, the willingness of the artist
- 6:33to do the humble work of the small
- 6:36in order to create the beautiful work of the large.
- 6:39And we can learn so much from this level of patience,
- 6:43from this level of devotion.
- 6:45The mosaic is such a devotional kind of art
- 6:48because in the beginning, it doesn't really look like much.
- 6:51You know what I mean?
- 6:52It's just some tiles.
- 6:53It's just some tiles like there's yellow there.
- 6:55We don't know yet that it's the sun.
- 6:57We don't know yet that the blue over there
- 6:59is going to become this lovely ocean of blue
- 7:02with the deeper blues and the lighter blues
- 7:04and that it's all going to come together.
- 7:06And so the artist who makes the mosaic
- 7:09as an artist who is patient is an artist who is devoted
- 7:12and as an artist who is committed to a larger vision
- 7:15for their work.
- 7:16So in 2025, my hope for you is that you won't put
- 7:19so much pressure and heaviness on your individual creations.
- 7:25Sometimes I've had these moments where a specific TikTok video,
- 7:28like a 60 second video, has felt like it will never be good enough.
- 7:31And then what has happened is I've left it in my drafts
- 7:34and then I've had hundreds of drafts
- 7:36that honestly would have all been good enough, quote unquote,
- 7:39because I mean, it all belongs.
- 7:41It's all part of life.
- 7:42It was all an expression of life through me.
- 7:45We can have standards for our work and that is precious,
- 7:48but also when these standards become punishing,
- 7:50when we are that punishing parent who never feel satisfied enough
- 7:54is always demanding more and expecting more,
- 7:56is always trying to push us more
- 7:59and never can find the good enough and celebrate
- 8:01and be proud of what we were able to make that day.
- 8:04I think that's such a shame, I love.
- 8:07You deserve to share yourself freely.
- 8:09You deserve to hit send on something
- 8:11that you know could have been more edited
- 8:13or more perfect or more whatever
- 8:14because that is the nature of life.
- 8:17In any piece of life, you could find what it could have been
- 8:19and you could find millions of examples
- 8:21of all that that piece of life could have been.
- 8:24And yet we can still accept the magic
- 8:26and the profundity, the profoundness of what is,
- 8:29of the fact that life spoke to you that day in that way.
- 8:33I have had so many creations that didn't feel good enough
- 8:37and that I felt the sense of self punishing for,
- 8:40that why did I speak like that?
- 8:42Why didn't I mention this example?
- 8:43Why didn't include this counterpoint?
- 8:45Why did I suggest or imply that thing
- 8:47or that other thing that I didn't mean?
- 8:49The ego wants to decide, it's narrative decide
- 8:52that it actually didn't mean that.
- 8:54What we think is the only acceptable thing we could have meant.
- 8:57But in that process of punishing myself,
- 9:00I've really come to a place where I'm like,
- 9:01I don't want to feel this way when I create things.
- 9:04I don't want to feel so fixated on how something could
- 9:07have been more perfect.
- 9:09Something could have been what it wasn't.
- 9:11I do want to celebrate this year
- 9:13just the radical beauty of what is.
- 9:16Sometimes after a conversation,
- 9:18how many of us feel like, I didn't say this
- 9:20or I didn't say that and we sort of analyze what went wrong.
- 9:24And it's so difficult to be present to the enoughness
- 9:27of what was, to feel like we did say enough,
- 9:30to feel like we did do enough,
- 9:31to feel like we don't always have to define ourselves
- 9:34by lack, by deficiency, by feeling never enough,
- 9:38never good enough, never smart enough to speak,
- 9:41never worthy enough to be heard, desirable enough to be loved.
- 9:44There's all these ways that, of course,
- 9:46all these systems of supremacy have constructed a consciousness
- 9:51that defines us as deficient.
- 9:53When we identify as avoid, we're less likely to feel ourselves
- 9:57as worthy of being full, full of life,
- 9:59full of possibility, full of love, full of opportunity,
- 10:03full of connection, full of community.
- 10:05So this is all by design.
- 10:07But in response to that, what I invite you into this year
- 10:10is as you hit submit on that video,
- 10:12as you hit submit on that sub-stack post
- 10:14or on launching something new and thinking
- 10:16it has to be the perfect launch that you say,
- 10:18even the launch is just part of the mosaic.
- 10:22We're in a culture that's so obsessed with beginnings.
- 10:24How did you meet when it comes to relationship versus
- 10:27how did you sustain this relationship?
- 10:29What was the turning point where you decided
- 10:31to go all in on each other?
- 10:33What do you feel like fuels gives life to this relationship
- 10:37and keeps the life there?
- 10:38How do you evolve as a couple, you know, things like that?
- 10:41And so when it comes to launching a project,
- 10:43you can put so much pressure on the perfect launch.
- 10:47And really, that kind of pressure
- 10:49actually just suffocates the creative process itself
- 10:52because how many of us, because we pressure our launches,
- 10:54don't end up launching things that we want to launch.
- 10:57Instead of taking action and allowing it to be enough,
- 11:00it almost feels like it's safer to keep it as an idea
- 11:03because then I don't have to confront
- 11:05some of the inherent messiness of actually creating something.
- 11:09Because when it's a vision, it can be perfect,
- 11:11it can be an idea, it can be a concept,
- 11:13it can be full of possibilities and plans
- 11:16and moments that we've envisioned
- 11:18when we commit to actually creating that.
- 11:20It's such a process of giving birth,
- 11:23of giving life to something and surrendering to the messiness
- 11:27of that, the unpredictability of that
- 11:29and the uncontrollability of that actual process of creation.
- 11:34But you are worthy of experiencing that.
- 11:36You're worthy of experiencing the reality
- 11:38of actually making something and sharing it with the world
- 11:41and seeing all the emotions that come with that
- 11:44and holding yourself with love through that,
- 11:46knowing that you are being held by the universe,
- 11:49you're being held by people who long to hear from you
- 11:52and want you to believe in yourself enough
- 11:55so that you eventually can find them
- 11:57so they can eventually find you.
- 11:58So this year in my love,
- 12:00whether it's returning to a project,
- 12:02some of you launched a YouTube channel a few years ago
- 12:05and have been meaning to go back,
- 12:06but there's that shame of all that you haven't created.
- 12:09There's that shame of returning.
- 12:11And I have a sole session called
- 12:13the Power of Re-Commitment and Return.
- 12:15I actually think recommitting is one
- 12:17of the most powerful forms of committing.
- 12:19The ability to say, I had this perfect plan,
- 12:22I didn't follow it and still I'm worthy of trying again.
- 12:25I started this sub-stack, I didn't stay as consistent
- 12:27as I wanted to be and still I'm worthy of trying again
- 12:30and trying again and trying again.
- 12:32And if we can learn to forgive ourselves
- 12:34for what we didn't do, didn't create, didn't make,
- 12:37knowing that we are divine being,
- 12:39knowing that we are here to dance with life
- 12:41and to be alive to our polls, our curiosities, our desires,
- 12:45and knowing that that poll is a collective poll of curiosity.
- 12:49It's all the people who feel called
- 12:51to the things that we feel called to calling through us,
- 12:54calling to us and allowing us to step into that next level
- 12:59of creation, of visibility, of purpose, of power.
- 13:03And I know that you have felt called to do that.
- 13:05So when it comes to launching or starting
- 13:07or recommitting or growing your digital project this year,
- 13:11I hope that you feel supported by the Mosaic mindset
- 13:14that this is always available.
- 13:15And the beauty of a Mosaic is even if we have a vision
- 13:18for how we think it's going to end.
- 13:20Once those pieces are available to us and on the canvas,
- 13:23there is so much room for it to become something
- 13:26we couldn't have even imagined.
- 13:28So much happens when we surrender to the process
- 13:30and devote ourselves to the process of creation
- 13:32that we could not have ever foretold.
- 13:35For example, YouTube to me used to feel
- 13:37like such an impossible and distant project.
- 13:40I never really thought that I would be someone on YouTube.
- 13:43But then because I was so devoted to my podcast
- 13:46and video podcasting became a thing again,
- 13:48all creation is co-creation, I co-created with the moments
- 13:50of video being the time that I started my podcasting journey
- 13:56and so much has unfolded through and for that
- 13:58and it feels like it's just the beginning.
- 13:59So so much becomes possible when we say yes to our ideas,
- 14:03when we say yes to our creativity,
- 14:05when we say yes to being seen,
- 14:07not waiting to feel the absence of shame or fear
- 14:10or doubt or confusion or feeling not good enough
- 14:14but recognizing that your soul has come to embody courage.
- 14:18And that is why you feel afraid.
- 14:21Because if you didn't feel afraid,
- 14:23you couldn't be courageous in the face of fear
- 14:26and know that you are a part of life that has survived
- 14:30meaning you have overcome in your lineage
- 14:33so much adversity, so much struggle, so much pain
- 14:38and also you have in your lineage joy and music and dance
- 14:42and wisdom, there's all these gifts and challenges
- 14:45that we have inherited.
- 14:47And the fact that you are here
- 14:48and if you are a black person listening to this,
- 14:50a brown person listening to us,
- 14:52an indigenous person listening to this,
- 14:54the fact that you are here, you know the idea
- 14:56that we were not meant to survive,
- 14:57the fact that you are here,
- 15:00you are so worthy of expressing
- 15:03and of being held with love in that expression
- 15:06and of being lovingly witnessed in that expression.
- 15:09To honor that and say I honor the life that is trying
- 15:12to express itself through me and like the flowers,
- 15:15like the rivers, like the butterflies, like the bees,
- 15:18like the leaves of the tree, I deserve to express
- 15:22that life is just expressing itself through me.
- 15:24It's so natural, whatever I share is natural,
- 15:28whatever I share belongs,
- 15:29what is unnatural is the shame that we're led to feel,
- 15:32what is unnatural is a level of perfectionism
- 15:34we are made to feel, what is unnatural is a being
- 15:37silencing itself.
- 15:39Imagine a bird wanting to sing a song and saying,
- 15:42oh no, it's not good enough, it will never be good enough,
- 15:45that is what is unnatural.
- 15:46Imagine the sun worrying that it might burn people
- 15:49if it shines too brightly, that is what is unnatural.
- 15:52Imagine the grass refusing to grow
- 15:55because some people do find grass annoying and itchy.
- 15:58Many people are allergic to grass.
- 16:00Does that mean the grass shouldn't grow?
- 16:02Imagine the world without grass.
- 16:03Yes, it's the case that some people are allergic to the grass.
- 16:07Does that mean that nature should not create grass
- 16:09just as there's nothing on earth
- 16:12that is completely found or experienced as neutral?
- 16:15It is safe for people to have opinions about you,
- 16:17it is safe for you to share yourself online,
- 16:19it is safe for you to express and trust
- 16:21that you will find your people,
- 16:23you will find what's meant for you,
- 16:25if you devote yourself to continuing to proceed to keep going.
- 16:29And so my darling, Mosaic mindset is here to support you,
- 16:32it's here to hold your hand, post that video,
- 16:35submit that essay, send that newsletter,
- 16:38this space is about continuing.
- 16:42There's something I've learned
- 16:43and it's about just trusting that eventually,
- 16:47it will find the people it's meant for.
- 16:49That is sort of the gift of algorithms.
- 16:52They are a curse in many ways,
- 16:54but that is one of the gifts
- 16:55is that the goal of the algorithm is for your work
- 16:57to find who it's meant for.
- 16:58So if you keep creating the work
- 17:00and you devote yourself to doing that,
- 17:02I don't know if it's gonna take weeks, months or years,
- 17:04but eventually it will find the people it's meant for
- 17:07and you know what, those people will have the gift of having
- 17:09an archive of all your work,
- 17:11of all the Mosaic that you've created.
- 17:13They think it's just this one tile
- 17:14and then they get to see that you have all these episodes
- 17:18or all these videos, you have playlists,
- 17:20you have this beautiful archive
- 17:21that they now get to experience.
- 17:24You are so divine, my love,
- 17:25you are so worthy of creation no matter what.
- 17:28Okay, so long as you are serving love
- 17:31and values that you wish to see more of in the world,
- 17:35so long as you are creating something
- 17:36that you would love to receive
- 17:38or if you're creating an alignment,
- 17:39that's what I mean, we all deserve that.
- 17:42We all deserve to be seen doing that.
- 17:44I do wanna let you know, that's,
- 17:47I have this, oh my word, that was perfect,
- 17:49not to say perfectionist, I have this beautiful e-book
- 17:53called Soulful Visibility, it's a guide
- 17:56and it's an e-book, so I printed it
- 17:58but it is so beautiful and I'm obsessed with it
- 18:01and it's for free, currently, currently, babes.
- 18:05So visit my website, I understood.com
- 18:09and there you can input your e-mail address
- 18:11and receive this to your inbox.
- 18:13This is such a generous, if I do say so myself,
- 18:15like there's just so much in this book,
- 18:17I'm actually shocked, it's free, but I want you to be seen,
- 18:20I want you to be felt, I want you to be received
- 18:23and I believe in the world that is dreaming through and of you.
- 18:27I believe in the new earth trying to rise through all of us
- 18:30who long to be seen at the same time
- 18:32that we deeply fear some of the pains of visibility,
- 18:35some of the risks of visibility.
- 18:37And so this is here to hold your hand
- 18:40and be with you, it has mindset shifts,
- 18:42it has a really high vibrational playlist
- 18:45that is going to just help you before you create
- 18:48or while you journal or while you go on a walk
- 18:50to bring you back to that energy of love
- 18:53and this beautiful, just soulful vibration,
