Transcript
- 0:02Hello and welcome to He's hot, but something is off.
- 0:08It's been a while since I did a podcast because last week was
- 0:12Thanksgiving and the skin care line magnate launched the Friday
- 0:20before Thanksgiving, like 6 days before Thanksgiving.
- 0:23And it's been like non-stop been working so hard for many months,
- 0:28like up until the launch date. And the closer we got to launch
- 0:32date, the busier it got. So over Thanksgiving it was
- 0:36really great. Like Thursday, Friday
- 0:38especially, I just kind of unplugged and it, it was
- 0:43actually pretty good. I'm, I'm still kind of, I'm
- 0:46still kind of there. You know, when you take a long
- 0:48weekend off and that first day back after a long weekend, it's
- 0:54extra hard to get back to work. You know, just a regular
- 0:56weekend, Saturday and Sunday and you go back to work on a Monday.
- 0:59It's a little hard. We do it every week, but you
- 1:01know, it's still a little hard. But like when you have four days
- 1:04off, that's extra hard. Anyways, welcome back to the
- 1:09podcast. And I want to get a dog again,
- 1:16but I don't think I'm going to get one, but I might get 1.
- 1:19So I was David was here last week, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:24We're talking, we, we chat every so often on like WhatsApp, but
- 1:27you know, like we, it's been a while since we had to like had
- 1:29some time to like hang out since it's been a little while since
- 1:33he was able to visit me for a few days and we're just chatting
- 1:37blah, blah, blah. And I did remember saying to
- 1:39him, it would have been really nice to have had a dog for
- 1:46companionship the last like for most of this year, but
- 1:50especially the last four or five months to kind of just cheer me
- 1:55up. I think my my emotions have been
- 2:04very, very like a roller coaster.
- 2:08The peaks were not super high, but the lows are kind of low.
- 2:12Not like depression, clinical depression level low.
- 2:16I'm not trying to oversell this, but it would just so much work
- 2:22to do the launch while still keeping like the only fans
- 2:27running because that's like, you know, that was launched years
- 2:31ago. But hey, you still have to like
- 2:33hoist some content every single month.
- 2:35And then I also somehow I probably shouldn't have, but I
- 2:38launched the travel agency business.
- 2:43What what? We've been up rubber running
- 2:45for, what, 4-4 months now? Something like that.
- 2:49So it was my bad to try to do that much.
- 2:52Yeah. But it would have been really
- 2:53nice to have had like a dog around some companionship
- 2:57because it was just, you know, like some days you wake up and
- 3:03it's like, Oh my God. Like starting my business is
- 3:07never going to work. There's like a million things I
- 3:09have to do. I'm not making enough progress.
- 3:11You know that that inner voice, really, you come for yourself.
- 3:16Basically you, your emotions come for you.
- 3:19Your emotions come for your thoughts to kind of like push
- 3:23through that all by yourself. It's like really hard, you know,
- 3:27I probably should have leaned on my friends a little bit more,
- 3:32but I think looking back on it now, I probably should have in
- 3:39some ways let off the gas a little bit.
- 3:41It made more time to socialize with friends.
- 3:46But you know, it was a lot that I needed to get done for the
- 3:49launch. So, you know, for the time and
- 3:52I'm just all the work is done on the computer.
- 3:54So I'm on the computer so often there were days where I just had
- 3:56a headache because I was in front of the computer for so
- 3:58long. And it's like, OK, we need to
- 4:00like we're done with the computer for today.
- 4:02We like can't work anymore. And I rarely get headaches.
- 4:05So it and obviously with the stress and everything that
- 4:07probably wasn't helpful. I think it would have been
- 4:10really nice to have like a dog for companionship.
- 4:14I do dog sit for a couple of friends here in LA.
- 4:18You guys have met Louis before, the white poodle.
- 4:21I'm not sure he's a poodle. He might be some other breed,
- 4:24but he's at least part poodle. I think the thing with Louis,
- 4:29the last time I had him, it was for two weeks.
- 4:32It was like 15 days that I had him.
- 4:34Daddies were over in Europe. And with Louie, I never quite
- 4:40clicked with him because Louie is aloof.
- 4:47Louie's kind of aloof. He doesn't snuggle.
- 4:50He doesn't fetch. I think I mentioned this on my
- 4:53Patreon and I was talking to David about it, but like, he
- 4:55doesn't. He doesn't fetch.
- 4:57And different dogs like to play with different types of toys and
- 5:02play different things. Some dogs just don't fetch.
- 5:04Some dogs will want you to throw something, but they're not going
- 5:07to bring it back. They're not like a retriever.
- 5:09They don't have that retrieval instinct.
- 5:11Some dogs don't like to cuddle. Some dogs are a little more
- 5:15stubborn. So, you know, Louis is not the
- 5:18type of dog that I would want because Louis wants to be near
- 5:22you, but Louis does not want to be.
- 5:27It's OK to like pick him up if you have to and he won't, he
- 5:30won't complain, but he doesn't like it.
- 5:33He won't complain. He's just like indifferent to
- 5:34you. If you have to like pick him up
- 5:36for some reason, like to cross the street when he's like, you
- 5:39know, doesn't want to cross or something.
- 5:40You just have like whatever, he's fine.
- 5:44He doesn't cuddle, which I don't need to cuddle my dog all the
- 5:49time, but I would like my dog to be a little bit more more
- 5:54affectionate than that. Like Louis, it's like, OK, just
- 5:57give me my food and Take Me Out. Otherwise, I don't care if you
- 6:01live or die. That dog is kind of sort of like
- 6:05that. He does like to play.
- 6:07What the good thing about Louis, I will say is he's not bugging
- 6:11you to like entertain him. Louis is very content to just
- 6:16chill on the bed and like take a nap.
- 6:20So that's kind of great. I don't want a super high energy
- 6:24dog, but I think I want something a little want a little
- 6:29higher energy than Louis. He likes he likes short walks,
- 6:35but sometimes to walk him is kind of difficult because
- 6:38sometimes he just like doesn't want to continue on a walk.
- 6:40I don't know if he likes the act of walking, but I want to take
- 6:44my dog on walks. I want to play fetch with the
- 6:47dog. I want the dog to be.
- 6:49Oh, what's that word? I want the dog to be a little
- 6:51more affectionate, a little less aloof, you know, not like, not
- 6:55so stubborn. I feel like Louis.
- 6:58Yeah, he does. Unless he knows you have food,
- 7:00he does not care about you, which for me doesn't, doesn't.
- 7:05It's not my idea of the type of dog that I would like.
- 7:08So even though I had Louis for a couple of weeks the last time I
- 7:11had him and it was this in August, I think, I never like
- 7:14bonded with him and I never, I did like having a dog around,
- 7:19but like, that's not my idea of like companionship.
- 7:23So, yeah, but I feel like over the, for as long as I've
- 7:27remembered, like I've kind of sort of always wanted a dog.
- 7:30It's not like the thing I want the most in the world, but it's
- 7:34kind of sort of like on and off that I've wanted a dog.
- 7:37I had AI told you guys I had a dog crate this like super nice,
- 7:41super expensive dog crate when I listed my condo for sale early
- 7:46this year, like in what January where I was working for my
- 7:49realtor to get the place, you know, already like fix up little
- 7:52things and kind of like get rid of some of the junk and make
- 7:55sure it was like, you know, a show worthy basically.
- 7:59And one of the things we did, one thing I did was just got rid
- 8:01of extra furniture that I didn't really need and that I wasn't
- 8:06planning to take with me when I move out of this place.
- 8:09And I bought that dog crate. I looked it up the other day,
- 8:13this super nice dog crate. It looks like a side table.
- 8:16It looks, it is, it's heavy as fuck, but it's like solid wood.
- 8:19It looks like a side table. When I bought it, it was like
- 8:23$550. I just checked the price
- 8:25recently. They sell for like $900 now, but
- 8:30it's like it's super, super heavy.
- 8:31It's like 50 or 60 lbs for like the small size.
- 8:35And I had it right beside my armchair.
- 8:38I used to have this like orange armchair from IKEA.
- 8:41I got rid of the armchair. I got rid of the dog crate.
- 8:43I actually went to one of my neighbors down the hallway.
- 8:45My realtor knows like some random people in the building.
- 8:49I didn't know until like later on when they ran into them.
- 8:51I was like, OK, they have a dog, just give them the dog crates, a
- 8:54nice dog crate. But I bought that dog crate in
- 8:5722 three years ago and I was so ready to have a dog.
- 9:01I remember right around that time I went to this like dog
- 9:06rescue place somewhere in LA and they have this thing where like
- 9:11you can kind of come in. He likes signing and come in and
- 9:13kind of like hang out with the dogs just to like see the dogs
- 9:16and the puppies and whichever dogs that they have there.
- 9:20And I did spend like a little bit of time there, but I end up
- 9:23not doing it. And even as recently as earlier
- 9:27this year, I was like, oh, I'm kind of glad I didn't have a dog
- 9:31because dogs have dogs are a lot of work.
- 9:36I was having a not an argument. I was, I was bringing up the,
- 9:42the idea that, you know what in some ways kids did?
- 9:47I, I don't, you know, sometimes I talk so much on the podcast.
- 9:50I don't know. But I mentioned this on the
- 9:51podcast or always on Patreon or with David.
- 9:53But like, in some ways, kids are less work than dogs.
- 9:57Hear me out. It's a hot take.
- 9:59It's, it's, it's not the popular opinion.
- 10:03I think when you have a dog, a dog could live for like 15
- 10:07years. OK, Well the dog, you're always
- 10:11going to have to feed them food and they can never really be,
- 10:16you know, you can't go out of town and leave the dog at home.
- 10:19You know, like you know, you can leave the dog home for like when
- 10:21you're at work during the day. That's pretty much it.
- 10:25Always have to like pick up after them when they do their
- 10:30number twos with a baby. They are that reliant on you for
- 10:35like a small portion of their lives.
- 10:38You know, from when they are born up until what?
- 10:41I don't know when it when when the kids start knowing how to go
- 10:44to the pantry and get food. 7810 right?
- 10:49You know, when kids get to be like 13 or 14, they can probably
- 10:54they can, you know, they can probably they can probably stay
- 10:58home for like a weekend and it won't be like that bad.
- 11:04But you know, when you have like a 14 year old dog, they are
- 11:08senior now and they might need extra care.
- 11:11So is that a really messed up comparison?
- 11:15Yeah. But yeah, it would, it would
- 11:17just have been really nice the last little bit to have had a
- 11:20dog. So yeah, I just, yeah, I'm, I'm,
- 11:23I'm kind of looking for a dog. I'm not saying I will get a dog,
- 11:26but sometimes I sometimes when I want to like buy or get
- 11:30something, I allow myself to window shop because for me
- 11:37that's fun. Window shopping is fun.
- 11:40I'm into cars. So a lot of times I just read
- 11:42about whatever new cars that are coming out.
- 11:45I read like car reviews and things like that just for fun
- 11:48because it's just, you know, it's just a hobby, right?
- 11:51I, I'm a car enthusiast. I like reading about cars.
- 11:53I'm into tech. So like I like playing with
- 11:55gadgets, but doesn't mean I'm going to buy all the cars and
- 11:58gadgets out there. You know, it's just sometimes
- 12:00nice and fun to just keep up on the industry.
- 12:02Like, oh, what new cars are coming out and like what kind of
- 12:04new tech gadgets or new technologies are out there being
- 12:07developed, They're coming soon or whatever.
- 12:09So same, the same thing with like a dog, you know, I can
- 12:13entertain myself, you know, just looking up like different
- 12:17animals that are available for adoption, like the adoption
- 12:20listings and things like that. But there's always this part of
- 12:23me that's like as you get older, you realize more and more that
- 12:31in a way, time is running out. We're all going to die
- 12:34eventually and who knows when we're going to go.
- 12:37Maybe even the universe doesn't know.
- 12:41But sometimes because of that, that the age probably a factor.
- 12:46Sometimes it's like, you know what if you if you want
- 12:48something and it's not like a crazy thing, like just just get
- 12:52it. If you want to do something and
- 12:53it's not some crazy thing to do, just go do it a little like
- 12:57bucket list type of a thing. If you want to get a dog, just
- 13:00go get a dog. It's not a crazy thing to get a
- 13:03dog. I don't feel like I'm AI feel
- 13:05like I'm a very responsible person.
- 13:08You know, I Max out the insurance on my car insurance.
- 13:10I Max out the the coverage, which I feel like most people
- 13:13don't do, even though it's like very expensive.
- 13:16You know, I have a fire extinguisher.
- 13:18Most people don't even have that.
- 13:21You know, when I talk about when I give travel and cruise advice,
- 13:25I'm very big on like, oh, make sure you get there the day
- 13:27before the cruise. Don't come the morning of
- 13:29because what if your flight gets delayed?
- 13:31What do you, you know what? I'm because of my more
- 13:34traditional conservative upbringing, I've been taught to
- 13:38be more risk adverse. So, and I'm the type of person
- 13:42even like starting this podcast. I had the idea, but like it took
- 13:47me a few months to like thinking about it before I like commit to
- 13:52it because you know, so many podcasts.
- 13:56Someone starts a podcast, they do it for a little while and
- 13:58then it just like goes away. I see this a lot with like
- 14:01people that want to do YouTube. OK, it's very easy.
- 14:04Low bear and trader man can like create a most people have a
- 14:07Google account. And when you have a Google
- 14:09account, you have a YouTube account and anyone can just
- 14:12randomly post a video on YouTube.
- 14:15Anyone can post a TikTok video, something on Instagram, whatever
- 14:19it is. But I think YouTube is little
- 14:21bit more like something you don't do as casually.
- 14:25Anyone can post a fucking photo on Instagram, OK?
- 14:27And it doesn't matter people that want to be a YouTube,
- 14:31whatever that means to you, it doesn't mean making a living off
- 14:35of it or making any money off of it.
- 14:36It just means like, you know, I think at the very minimum, being
- 14:42a YouTube means just uploading videos regularly.
- 14:45It's not necessary about monetizing the videos, but just
- 14:49if you upload a YouTube every once in a blue moon, that's not
- 14:52a YouTube. I feel like one of the basic
- 14:54things is OK uploading regularly.
- 14:56It said like whether that be like once a month or once a week
- 14:59or whatever it is. But so many people that quote UN
- 15:03quote want to be a YouTube is like, oh I uploaded one video.
- 15:07I'm a fucking YouTube now. Same as all these fucking
- 15:10influenced people anyways. They want to upload a video and
- 15:13then they can do it while the novelty is still there.
- 15:17But then there's so many YouTube channels where someone think I'm
- 15:22going to go be a YouTube out, upload videos and then literally
- 15:26like two months later they stop. They just don't have the, they
- 15:30just haven't thought about it and they don't appreciate how
- 15:33much work it is and they don't have to follow through.
- 15:37And it's not something they really enjoy.
- 15:38So it's like, oh, they they're thinking, oh, like, look at all
- 15:41these Youtubers uploading videos.
- 15:42I can do it. It's just no appreciation for
- 15:44how much work it's going to be. I was at the gym play very
- 15:46randomly and I don't know why it just popped into my head.
- 15:51I was trying to think about how many videos like popper videos,
- 15:55not like a Instagram reel or like a TikTok, something for
- 15:58only fans or something for YouTube.
- 16:00Like a video that you had to like properly edit.
- 16:03Not like a tiny little 10 second clip of like a dog tripping over
- 16:06his dog bowl or something like that.
- 16:08OK, there's been at least 1000 videos that have beat me money
- 16:13in some way, shape or form. Granted, on YouTube, I don't
- 16:16have like a million followers. My YouTube videos are monetized.
- 16:19But you know, maybe it just gives me like I looked at my
- 16:23most popular videos the other day.
- 16:24I think the most, my most watched video I think had like
- 16:28300,000 views or something. And I think it's maybe something
- 16:31like 5 or $600.00 over the lifetime.
- 16:33And that video was uploaded like years ago.
- 16:35So the YouTube monetization where YouTube runs ads on your
- 16:39videos and you get like a little cut.
- 16:40It's a very small cut. Maybe like most months, not
- 16:44every month I'll get a check for something like 100 hundred
- 16:47something dollars from YouTube just from the ads that run on
- 16:49it. It's a very slow but I don't
- 16:50have, I'm not trying to make money off of the YouTube, but
- 16:54you know, they are monetized. And my rough back of napkin math
- 16:59is I've probably created over 1000 proper videos that require
- 17:06like going into a video editor and editing them, not like some
- 17:10little TikTok or Instagram reel. I've created over $1000 / 1000
- 17:14videos that have been monetized. Obviously on only fans have
- 17:17brought in a lot of money and I thought about how much money
- 17:20have I made from all the videos that I've monetized and I think
- 17:24to date I've made, I think I made probably like $100,000.
- 17:29That sounds impressive. But The thing is like I started
- 17:32doing YouTube what, 15 years ago?
- 17:35I only just start. Obviously the bulk of that is
- 17:37from Onlyfans. But yeah, like I feel like OK,
- 17:41I'm not top 1% on Onlyfans or YouTube that is wrecking in like
- 17:466 figures or more every year. But, you know, I do have some
- 17:51experience creating videos, but you know, every time I want to
- 17:55like, start some new venture that requires creating content,
- 17:59I know how intense and serious it can be.
- 18:03So it told me a few months after having the idea for this podcast
- 18:07to be like, once I start it, I need to do this every week.
- 18:12And you know, there's no obligation for me to do it.
- 18:14Like I do this for fun. I've said that multiple times,
- 18:17but I think we're up to what, 100 and 10120 episodes?
- 18:24Whatever this is, I, I, I lose track, you know, but this
- 18:27podcast has been running pretty much every week for what, like 2
- 18:33something years? Because I thought it through
- 18:37before I started it. I didn't just like jump into it,
- 18:41you know, it's kind of sort of the same thing with getting a
- 18:43dog, getting a dog's a serious commitment.
- 18:45But on the flip side of that, sometimes I feel like I, I
- 18:49overthink the decisions like that.
- 18:53Obviously all the official advice is like, you know, the
- 18:56dogs live for like 12 or 15 years.
- 18:58They rely on you for everything. That part of it, yes, I
- 19:01obviously understand the gravity of the situation, if you will.
- 19:07But then I also think there are a lot of people that are not
- 19:09responsible with me that have dogs and that's perfectly fine.
- 19:14The real world data is that it really shouldn't be a problem
- 19:17for me to have a dog. Again, I've always wanted a dog.
- 19:19It's not like the thing I need the most, to be honest.
- 19:23But especially this year, it would be really nice.
- 19:27And the other thing is like, you know what I thought about having
- 19:30a dog for so long. I should just get a dog.
- 19:32There's always going to be some excuse to like not have a dog.
- 19:35There's like, there's also like, you know, if I were to have a
- 19:36kid, let's say I had a partner and we wanted to have a child,
- 19:41there's always going to be an inconvenient time to do
- 19:44something. So I feel like, yeah, maybe this
- 19:47time I just get a dog. And even if I don't get a dog,
- 19:50you know, it's kind of sort of like a fun way to like, kill
- 19:52some time and distract myself when I have, you know, when I
- 19:55need to take a break from work or doing other things, whatever.
- 19:57Just like look up dogs that are for adoption and things like
- 19:59that. But I have narrowed down to the
- 20:03type of dog that I think I would like based on like temperament,
- 20:07energy levels and like things like that.
- 20:11I want a small dog, I want a dog that could travel with me in a
- 20:16pet carrier in the cabinet of an airplane.
- 20:19And for that they need to fit in a carrier that fits under the
- 20:22seat in front of you. It counts as like your personal
- 20:25item from the airline's perspective.
- 20:27And usually that means it's mainly the height and length of
- 20:30the dog, like the dimensions of the dog that matters the most.
- 20:33But usually a dog just up to about 15 lbs.
- 20:37Usually it's OK for that. So I'm kind of looking for like
- 20:40that or under. Louis is 13 lbs.
- 20:43I know he's 13 lbs. I know he's 13 lbs because when
- 20:49he came to me to stay for two weeks, I wanted to make sure
- 20:53that I didn't give him too many treats or I want to make sure I
- 20:59was exercising him enough. But I didn't want to fatten up
- 21:03the dog to before his daddies came back from Europe.
- 21:06So I weighed him at the beginning, just on my regular
- 21:11scale. I weighed him when he first came
- 21:14to stay with me, and I weighed him again about like a week into
- 21:20it to make sure like, OK, I'm not fattening you up.
- 21:23And he was like, exactly like 13.4 lbs both times I weighed
- 21:27him. I was like, OK, I'm not giving
- 21:28you too many treats. I was giving him treats,
- 21:29actually. I was giving him a lot of
- 21:31treats, actually. But he was, I took him for like
- 21:33three walks a day. So he had a time.
- 21:35He had time to burn off all those sexual treats.
- 21:37Yeah, but Louis was 13 lbs and he's actually a pretty good
- 21:41size. Looking at him, it looked like
- 21:44he would weigh more, but he was like 13 lbs.
- 21:47And it's like, I think that's a good size.
- 21:48He's he's just small enough that I think he could be comfortable
- 21:51in the carrier to like fit under the plane.
- 21:54I don't think I would travel with my dog like all the time on
- 21:59an airplane, but I would love, love the option too.
- 22:02Like if I were to fly to Vancouver to like visit my
- 22:06family for a few days, I would love to just like bring my dog
- 22:09with me. I want to have the option.
- 22:11And I don't think I only have, I live in a condo in West
- 22:13Hollywood. I don't have a yard per SE.
- 22:15I don't want like a super large dog.
- 22:17I never won the Super large dog anyways.
- 22:20So yeah, like a small dog, you know, that's maybe like low
- 22:23teens, like 12 pounds, 14 lbs, something like that.
- 22:27The dog must be non shedding so Louis being a poodle or like a
- 22:32poodle mix doesn't shed at all. I've never found any dog hair or
- 22:36dog fur but poodles have hair not fur.
- 22:39The great thing about Louis is he left no trace except for like
- 22:42the couple times he took a poop in my living room.
- 22:44But besides that in terms of like hair and fur it was like I
- 22:47didn't notice any. And I have this like dark couch
- 22:50that he jumps onto. I've got this like dark grey rug
- 22:55in my living room. So like any kind of like white
- 22:58hair from him, you know, I would have seen it on the couch or
- 23:01like the rug like absolutely nothing.
- 23:04So it has to be, I think for me like a poodle mix because
- 23:09poodles don't shed much of it all.
- 23:12So I think it has to be like a, a poodle mix because the thing I
- 23:16don't want is to have to pick up hair all the time.
- 23:20The laundry room, the washing machines in the building laundry
- 23:23room, half the time when I go down there, the washing machines
- 23:27have dog fur. Like you can see on the washing
- 23:31machine, like the gasket on the front, this black gasket, and
- 23:35it's got like 1 inch long brown fur all over it.
- 23:39And it like the door, which is the clear plastic door, there's
- 23:42fur on there too. And I was like, This is why I
- 23:45need to have my own washer and drier.
- 23:50And some people don't know to, like, leave the door open on
- 23:52front loading washing machines, otherwise it's going to get
- 23:56moldy inside. There's this giant label on the
- 23:58top of the door that says leave the door open.
- 24:00But like, apparently people are fucking illiterate in this
- 24:03building. I want to move anyways.
- 24:05Yeah, I want to. Yeah.
- 24:06I think like a poodle mix. I think I would ideally for me,
- 24:11I would love for the dog to be like, brown.
- 24:14They don't have to be like, doesn't have to be uniformly
- 24:17brown. Keep it like brown and white.
- 24:19But I really like that. I just like that colour like a
- 24:22light. I got like a light brown, not
- 24:24like a chocolate brown, like a light brown.
- 24:26A lot of poodle mixes are just white.
- 24:29And I'm not a no. I think, yeah, it would.
- 24:32I would just prefer to have be like white and brown or just
- 24:35brown. I've always loved the
- 24:38disposition and kind of like the shape of a spaniel.
- 24:45So I think a cockapoo, which is like a Cocker spaniel and poodle
- 24:49mix, it's probably up my alley. A lot of spaniels tend to come
- 24:53in like like a red or like a brown.
- 24:56A lot of poodles are white, but that's when you mix, you get
- 24:58like some some variations. So a cockapoo which is
- 25:01apparently Cocker spaniel and a poodle mix, that's kind of what
- 25:04I'm looking at. And apparently it's supposed to
- 25:05be pretty one of the more common mixes, but there's not that many
- 25:09of them that are available for adoption.
- 25:14So, but it it was fun for me just after the skin care brand
- 25:19had launched. By the way, go buy my skin care,
- 25:21please. Everything's linked down below.
- 25:24Plug, plug, plug. It was, it's at least fun for me
- 25:27to Daydream a little bit about getting a dog and look out what
- 25:32kind of dogs or what kind of breeds I would like and look up,
- 25:36you know, what kind of dogs are available for adoption in the
- 25:39area. There is a chance that one day
- 25:42I'll be doing episode podcast and I'll just have a dog in my
- 25:44hand. It's possible.
- 25:47I think. I, I think I just worry too much
- 25:50before doing something like it told me.
- 25:53I mean, not that it's bad to really think about what you're
- 25:58getting yourself into, especially with something like a
- 26:00dog where, hey, like this is like, it's a, it's a fucking
- 26:04animal that is dependent on you for everything for the next 15
- 26:07years of life. That's like a serious
- 26:10commitment. But I feel like having said
- 26:12that, I feel like I just freaked myself out based on that kind of
- 26:17logic. It's like, no one should be
- 26:18getting a dog, honestly. Like the number of people where
- 26:21dogs are suitable for them. But they say like, oh, you
- 26:23travel all the time. You shouldn't have a dog.
- 26:24You shouldn't leave your dog at home.
- 26:26You work long hours. You shouldn't have a dog.
- 26:29You travel all the time. You shouldn't, you know, like a
- 26:31dog is like a like 12 or 15 years.
- 26:34Like who knows what their next 15 years of their life is going
- 26:36to bring? Like, no one really.
- 26:39Really no one. Only the most boring straight
- 26:41people might have some assurance that their lives will continue
- 26:46to be boring on average for the next 10 to 15 years.
- 26:50No one has like a crystal ball. So yes, I understand that I need
- 26:53to take care of the dog for the next 10 to 15 years.
- 26:56But like, I can't predict exactly what's going to happen
- 26:57in the next 15 years. But that shouldn't be a
- 26:59deterrent. Just because you don't know what
- 27:00the future is like, should not be a deterrent for you to like
- 27:03make a decision today. So I feel like I just overthink
- 27:08and freak out a little too much about it.
- 27:10I'm this I'm so like risk adverse is my upbringing.
- 27:14But yeah, I think I would love to have a dog, the right type of
- 27:16dog. Spaniels are so like loving and
- 27:20affectionate. They have fur, so they do shed
- 27:22like a little bit. I love the I love the look of a
- 27:25of a spaniel. So I think, you know, a spaniel
- 27:28poodle mix would be great. I did do my Opa's live stream,
- 27:34my monthly Opa's live stream for my top tier OPA subscribers on
- 27:38Patreon. The one in November had a couple
- 27:41people join in and Johnny, one of the participants on the live
- 27:45stream, he, I remember him saying I was talking about dogs.
- 27:49And then I remember him saying he wasn't super keen on him
- 27:54having his dog because, you know, like, you know, it's not
- 28:00all, it's not all just like puppy kisses and cuddles, you
- 28:03know, it does he, I think his wording was it does cramp his
- 28:07style a little bit because if you go out of town, OK, you need
- 28:10to figure out someone to take care of your dog.
- 28:12You need to like, have a friend that is willing to like dog sit
- 28:14for you or doggy hotel or like have a dog sitter or things like
- 28:19that. So, yeah, I thought through all
- 28:21that stuff because all the times I've been close to getting a
- 28:25dog, I did basically thought of everything to like the NTH
- 28:29degree. But yeah, I, I just after this
- 28:32year, it's like I, I think I, I would really appreciate having a
- 28:36dog. I've wanted, I've liked dogs for
- 28:38so long now. There's always going to be some
- 28:41excuse to like, not get a dog, but I feel like I should just, I
- 28:45should get 1 of this, right. What do you think?
- 28:48Comment down below. Comment down below on what you
- 28:53think of whether I should get a dog or the type of dog I should
- 28:55get or maybe something that I've not overlooked.
- 28:58I obviously didn't go into all the nitty gritty details, but I
- 29:01feel like I've thought out everything honestly.
- 29:06And yeah, the fact that I don't know what my life is going to be
- 29:09like because it in the in the coming year, just because I'm
- 29:13not fucking psychic and you know, no one, no one knows what
- 29:19their life is going to be like over the next 15 years.
- 29:22I don't think that's actually a great excuse.
- 29:23If that's not like great excuse to not get a dog because no one
- 29:27knows what's going to happen to them, to them in like 510 or 15
- 29:30years. By that logic, no one should get
- 29:32a dog. No one should have a baby.
- 29:34No one should have be taking care of any sort of human or
- 29:38animal that is relying on them for the next 10 or 15 years.
- 29:41But that logic doesn't make any sense.
- 29:43Yeah. Because, yeah.
- 29:45Anyways, there's also the other thing of like, you know what I
- 29:48and I've this advice I've given before, the advice I've given
- 29:51before is, you know, if you want to get something, if you want to
- 29:53buy something, especially again, it's simply it's not some stupid
- 29:58crazy thing. If you want to get something
- 30:01because you want something, you don't need to justify to anyone.
- 30:05For me, that advice is more for not like an animal or like a
- 30:11baby that is going to fundamentally alter your daily
- 30:15routine for the next X years. That's more like, if you want
- 30:19the new iPhone, you don't have to justify.
- 30:22Like if you have the means, it's not a crazy thing to buy a new
- 30:25phone. It's not like you're trying to
- 30:26buy a Ferrari, OK, and cash out your life savings for it.
- 30:30If you want to go buy a new iPhone, you want to go buy a
- 30:33pair of shoes, you want to get a cheesecake, whatever.
- 30:36Like if you want it and you have the means, just go get it.
- 30:39You need to justify it to anyone.
- 30:41You know what I mean? So maybe that applies here too.
- 30:45I think in some ways I'm trying to justify it, but I don't need
- 30:49to. If I want to do something I
- 30:51should just do something. Maybe that's also the age
- 30:53talking as well. Anyways, leave your comments.
- 30:56Leave your. I want to see all your comments
- 30:58about dog ownership. Not just me having a dog, but
- 31:01like what your comments and thoughts are on dogs in general
- 31:06and dog ownership. I'd be really interested to hear
- 31:10about that, but until next time, obviously I mentioned my Patreon
