- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, good afternoon, listeners. Thank you for coming on to
- 0:03Speaker 1: Lament of Hope podcast. As you guys know, we always
- 0:06Speaker 1: have so many interesting guests. And by the time this
- 0:09Speaker 1: one comes out, we're nearing our 300th episode, which is
- 0:12Speaker 1: really exciting. But I'm talking today with Jennifer Goff, who
- 0:16Speaker 1: is the founder of Skip the Line. And I came
- 0:21Speaker 1: across this business and I was just so intrigued.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I mean, I would say the majority is probably people
- 0:28Speaker 2: visiting or special occasions. Okay. Um, you know, if you're
- 0:32Speaker 2: visiting DC and you're really trying to maximize, you know,
- 0:36Speaker 2: what you're going to do and how you're going to
- 0:37Speaker 2: spend your time here waiting in line for, for something
- 0:40Speaker 2: just might not be worth it to you. Um, and
- 0:43Speaker 2: then the same with a special occasion. Um, we also
- 0:46Speaker 2: have local people who use us frequently for different concerts
- 0:49Speaker 2: and they just can't make, make the, the line when
- 0:52Speaker 2: it starts to line up because of work. Um, So
- 0:56Speaker 2: I would say those are probably the majority of our clients.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Now, is there anything you wouldn't wait in line for?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Are there boundaries with the kind of work that you
- 1:06Speaker 1: would do if someone wanted to hire you to wait
- 1:09Speaker 1: in line? Yes.
- 1:10Speaker 2: We try to stay away from anything that might be
- 1:13Speaker 2: uncomfortable or dangerous for our employees. And a lot of
- 1:18Speaker 2: times I'll ask them if that's something they want to
- 1:20Speaker 2: wait for. It could be like a political issue. something
- 1:23Speaker 2: politically that they might not want to get involved in
- 1:27Speaker 2: just because of the type of people that might be
- 1:28Speaker 2: in those lines. But for the most part, it's pretty
- 1:33Speaker 2: fair game. We're very fair about how we wait in line.
- 1:37Speaker 2: We're not going to wait in line and have 10
- 1:39Speaker 2: people come up and take over one spot or anything
- 1:42Speaker 2: like that. So we do try to keep it fair
- 1:44Speaker 2: and transparent to the people around us.
- 1:46Speaker 1: So would you have to pay per person for how
- 1:49Speaker 1: many there are who want to be in the line?
