- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, it's Romeo. So it's what's Tuesday. It's the
- 0:03Speaker 1: twelve Sinco de Sinco. It's five twelve, twenty twenty six.
- 0:08Speaker 1: And I thought maybe i'd start doing some of the
- 0:10Speaker 1: things I told you this guys. Every you know, just
- 0:13Speaker 1: when I get into things that I want to talk
- 0:15Speaker 1: about after the show, just because I don't have time
- 0:17Speaker 1: to talk about it, or I just don't really want
- 0:19Speaker 1: to deal with it on the show because we got
- 0:21Speaker 1: other things to do. But I did notice this was interesting.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I noticed, and I was looking at the uh one
- 0:28Speaker 1: of I think it was. I was looking at KG E.
- 0:30Speaker 1: T And I guess Biggerswool School District is accepting some
- 0:34Speaker 1: missions to rename Caesar I. Chavez Elementary. I I was
- 0:39Speaker 1: wondering what they were gonna do. You know, a lot
- 0:40Speaker 1: of a lot of people are upset with him with
- 0:42Speaker 1: some of the things they've written about him, with the
- 0:43Speaker 1: what the New York Times story that came out, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: the guy was an absolute inspiration, I guess, until what
- 0:54Speaker 1: we're dealing with now. But there was a lot of
- 0:57Speaker 1: things schools parks. In fact, didn't I just see it?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Think I just saw a street I was in La
- 1:02Speaker 1: coming back from I think Anaheim a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and I think they saw Caesar Java as street. I
- 1:07Speaker 1: think is what I saw, So there's probably probably true.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So I guess there. What are some of the names
- 1:14Speaker 1: that they want to they want to rename? Let's see
- 1:18Speaker 1: they want to The Bakersfield City School District has announced
- 1:20Speaker 1: they will begin efforts to rename Caesar I. Chavez Elementary
- 1:23Speaker 1: School following sexual assault allegations made against the labor leader.
- 1:27Speaker 1: The district is asking students, parents, faculty, and or communities
- 1:31Speaker 1: submit their recommendations for the renaming. All recommendations submitted to
- 1:37Speaker 1: need to meet the criteria of the following individuals living
- 1:41Speaker 1: or decease who have made outstanding contributions to Bakersfield, to
- 1:46Speaker 1: Bakersfield City City School District, and or the Bakersfield Committee.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I don't know individuals living or to seize who are
- 1:55Speaker 1: or were local, state, or national figures who have made
- 1:58Speaker 1: truly significant content atributions to the community, to current county,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the state, or the nation. Who's that sound like? Guys?
- 2:06Speaker 1: In recognition of the specific geographic area or locals in
- 2:10Speaker 1: which the school or building is located, authors, poets, historical figures,
- 2:16Speaker 1: have attained national prominence in the fields of education, science,
- 2:20Speaker 1: the arts, statesmanship, civic leadership in early pioneer of Bakersfield,
- 2:25Speaker 1: current county, or the state of California. Former United States
- 2:30Speaker 1: presidents living or deceased. I'm just saying, you know, I
- 2:34Speaker 1: fit some of that criteria. I mean, I know I
- 2:38Speaker 1: haven't contributed to the extent of a lot of the
- 2:41Speaker 1: local community figures here in Bakersfield. But I'm just saying
- 2:44Speaker 1: I've been doing it a long time, so I guess
- 2:47Speaker 1: you could submit that. It doesn't really say where do
- 2:49Speaker 1: you submit it at? You must got a let's see here,
- 2:54Speaker 1: doesn't say oh, there it is. You just go, yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 1: submit your recommendations. Just go to the kget website to
- 3:00Speaker 1: submit recommendations. That's open now until May twenty second, four pm. Yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: that'd be interesting. It'd be interesting to see what they
- 3:06Speaker 1: renamed the school down there. I just happened to see
- 3:10Speaker 1: that as I was bumping along. I was actually looking
- 3:12Speaker 1: for another story. Something popped up on my and I
- 3:17Speaker 1: find this really fascinating and interesting. I got, you know
- 3:21Speaker 1: how the little stories the headlines pop up on your phone.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Apparently there was going to be some sort of animal
- 3:29Speaker 1: I don't know if it was vaccinations or if it
- 3:32Speaker 1: was what it was exactly, I can't seem to find
- 3:35Speaker 1: it on my phone right now, but it said they
- 3:37Speaker 1: canceled it, and they canceled it because of a heat advisory.
- 3:41Speaker 1: This is something that's very interesting to be have we
- 3:45Speaker 1: always had heat advisories in Bakersfield? Has it always been
- 3:50Speaker 1: that way? I mean, I do remember times when they
- 3:53Speaker 1: would open cooling centers, I think for you know, because
- 3:56Speaker 1: not everyone has air conditioning, some people have a swamp coolers.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Of the older homes in Bakersfield have swamp coolers, so
- 4:02Speaker 1: they would open these cooling centers. I remember that, and
- 4:06Speaker 1: they probably still do that. I just haven't seen one
- 4:08Speaker 1: in a while, or I haven't dealt with I haven't
- 4:11Speaker 1: read the story in a while. But I do understand that.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But when did we start start shutting down our town
- 4:17Speaker 1: for heat?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Now?
- 4:18Speaker 1: I've lived in Bakersfield for a little around twenty eight
- 4:20Speaker 1: years now, I think it was around twenty a little
- 4:22Speaker 1: over twenty eight years, I think, And I don't ever
- 4:25Speaker 1: remember it happening. Man, I was out, I was out
- 4:27Speaker 1: playing golf today in the heat. It doesn't bother me
- 4:30Speaker 1: at all, and I heard that. It was just interesting.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I never saw that before. I never saw them cancel
- 4:36Speaker 1: something because of the heat. I don't I'm trying to remember.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Was there ever a time in the last thirty years
- 4:46Speaker 1: that they canceled something because of maybe, oh you know what,
- 4:50Speaker 1: maybe they did. Maybe they've canceled high school sports. You're right,
- 4:53Speaker 1: maybe that's maybe this is nothing new. Maybe I just
- 4:56Speaker 1: for some reason when I saw it pop up, I
- 4:58Speaker 1: just thought it was interesting that we are canceling things
- 5:01Speaker 1: because of Bakersfield heat, because I don't believe the heat
- 5:03Speaker 1: has changed. But that might be true, you know, that
- 5:06Speaker 1: might be Yeah, we might be uh, yeah, it might be.
- 5:11Speaker 1: There might be times that we have canceled, especially the
- 5:13Speaker 1: high school football games with during the summertime. That might be. Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So maybe I'm completely wrong about that one, but I
- 5:21Speaker 1: find that very very interesting. Although it has been hot
- 5:24Speaker 1: the last couple of days, man, i've been out, I
- 5:26Speaker 1: haven't been using my AC in my car because of well,
- 5:31Speaker 1: gas prices. I don't want to waste my gas, and
- 5:33Speaker 1: the heat doesn't really bother me all that much, so
- 5:37Speaker 1: I only turned the AC on in my car when
- 5:40Speaker 1: people are with me and I leave the windows rolled
- 5:43Speaker 1: up because I want to hear. You know, these radios today,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I can't really hear unless you turn up your radio
- 5:48Speaker 1: full blast in the air, and you want to you
- 5:50Speaker 1: want to hear what you're doing. So anyway, I thought
- 5:52Speaker 1: that was kind of interesting. But the heat is coming,
- 5:55Speaker 1: it's going to be back. And but I don't recall,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I don't ever recall Bakersfield being over the top, so
- 6:03Speaker 1: hot that it was unbearable to live in. I know,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I've been to Palm Springs a couple of times out
- 6:07Speaker 1: in Arizona. I know I've been there a few times
- 6:10Speaker 1: where you got to go indoors. You just can't be
- 6:12Speaker 1: outside it's too hot. But I don't think I've ever
- 6:14Speaker 1: had that. I don't remember that in Bakersfield. What else,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I wrote a couple other things down. Oh you know
- 6:20Speaker 1: what I wanted to talk about. I tried to watch
- 6:23Speaker 1: I tried to watch the Kevin Hart, the Kevin Hart
- 6:28Speaker 1: roast to Kevin Hart. Now, there's a lot of people
- 6:31Speaker 1: are upset about it with some of the things that
- 6:33Speaker 1: were said. A lot of people are thinking that it
- 6:36Speaker 1: was just that it was hilarious. I mean, there's a
- 6:38Speaker 1: lot of different opinions on it. I thought it was
- 6:43Speaker 1: too long. It was almost three hours long. Now, I
- 6:49Speaker 1: really didn't watch it all. I kind of fast forwarded
- 6:51Speaker 1: through it because it really wasn't great for me. It
- 6:55Speaker 1: wasn't great. Now, I'm not saying you didn't find it funny.
- 6:57Speaker 1: What I found interesting about the whole thing was the
- 7:01Speaker 1: jokes were funny. The joke Most of the jokes were rude.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Most of the jokes were obnoxious, and it seemed like
- 7:08Speaker 1: everybody was yelling. And you can't just throw the F
- 7:13Speaker 1: word in and all of a sudden, that's your joke.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That didn't I mean, there were some good jokes. Don't
- 7:18Speaker 1: get me wrong. You know, none of them are memorable.
- 7:22Speaker 1: None of them are. Like I said, I fast forwarded
- 7:26Speaker 1: through it. I just I looked at some of the
- 7:27Speaker 1: different comedians and you could see some of them had
- 7:30Speaker 1: a political agenda. Some of them appear to not like
- 7:35Speaker 1: each other, which was really interesting, and attack each other
- 7:40Speaker 1: in such an aggressive, an aggressive way, not in a
- 7:45Speaker 1: funny way. I mean, roasts are supposed to be funny,
- 7:48Speaker 1: the jokes are supposed to be a little more aggressive,
- 7:51Speaker 1: a little harsh. It's a roast, you're taking shots at people.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But they're just not good. And I just a lot
- 7:58Speaker 1: of it was bad and I just don't know. And
- 8:01Speaker 1: I guess some of these comedians are some of the
- 8:03Speaker 1: most popular comedians in the world, are in the country
- 8:06Speaker 1: right now. But I don't know why. I don't know.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I just I don't know. So I only watched. I
- 8:15Speaker 1: watched a little bit of it. But I mean, but
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't get me wrong. There were some jokes that were
- 8:19Speaker 1: just jokes that were funny, you know, But once they
- 8:22Speaker 1: were like Tom bra and they were all trying to
- 8:24Speaker 1: be so aggressively cool. Tom Brady came out and just
- 8:28Speaker 1: Tom Brady literally came across like that jackass head football
- 8:33Speaker 1: are head quarterback prom king everything. He just came across
- 8:37Speaker 1: like such an arrogant jerk. And you can't do that.
- 8:40Speaker 1: If you're Tom Brady, You're already the greatest quarterback. Have
- 8:43Speaker 1: a little humility and humbleness to you. But that's how
- 8:46Speaker 1: they all came across. Now, I don't know, Maybe I'm wrong.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Maybe you guys all loved it, and that's fine. If
- 8:50Speaker 1: you loved it, I mean, you guys can watch it.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I mean, if you thought it was great, then that's great.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I just didn't. I just thought they were so aggressive,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and we're trying so hard to be shocking and attacking
- 9:03Speaker 1: each other, and not even in a funny way, just
- 9:06Speaker 1: in a malicious aggressive it was. It was crazy, and
- 9:12Speaker 1: everybody was there. That's that's what was wild to me.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Everybody was there. But you know, I and I didn't realize.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Is uh a lot of people. I was reading some
- 9:24Speaker 1: comments about it, A lot of people don't like Kevin
- 9:27Speaker 1: Hart's movies. Is that true? I don't. I don't mind
- 9:30Speaker 1: Kevin Hart's movies. I actually thought Kevin I think Kevin
- 9:33Speaker 1: Hart's movies are kind of funny. I mean, they're all
- 9:35Speaker 1: the same, and but I always thought they were kind
- 9:39Speaker 1: of funny. I actually can honestly say, though I have
- 9:43Speaker 1: never seen Kevin Hart do stand up. I know he's
- 9:46Speaker 1: come to He's come to Bakersfield a couple of times,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and some friends of mine asked to go, and I
- 9:51Speaker 1: just never have been. I've never seen any of us specials.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I've never seen. But I that's not how I want
- 9:57Speaker 1: to see Kevin Hart. I like seeing his movies. I
- 9:58Speaker 1: watch his movies, But I don't know. What do you
- 10:01Speaker 1: guys think of the of the roast, the Kevin Hart,
- 10:05Speaker 1: it just seemed it seems like they were trying to
- 10:08Speaker 1: just shock you and be as vulgar and aggressive and
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't know what other word I'm looking for, but
- 10:15Speaker 1: they were just trying to shock you, and it just
- 10:19Speaker 1: I don't know, do you guys think it was great?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Maybe I'm the one who just didn't like it. That's
- 10:25Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that if I didn't like I mean,
- 10:27Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong if you liked it or not. It's
- 10:29Speaker 1: just comedy is so subjective to who your favorite comedian is,
- 10:34Speaker 1: who you like, who you don't like. I mean, that's
- 10:36Speaker 1: really what it comes down to. Oh, that was the
- 10:40Speaker 1: other thing. The George Floyd Tiffany Adish people aren't mad
- 10:44Speaker 1: about the George Floyd joke. They're mad they weren't invited
- 10:47Speaker 1: to the roast. So that was one of the big
- 10:49Speaker 1: controversies they made of George Floyd joke. I don't remember.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I think it was Tony Hinchcliffe made the joke, and
- 10:57Speaker 1: so the Floyd family's upset that he did that. And then
- 11:00Speaker 1: of course that Kevin Hart. Okayd uh. Tiffany Hadda said
- 11:04Speaker 1: so much fun at the Kevin Heart roast on Sunday,
- 11:07Speaker 1: but wanted to know. They wanted to know how she
- 11:09Speaker 1: felt about the controversial George Floyd joke. Let me see
- 11:13Speaker 1: if I can listen to what she had to say.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Can I think I think I can listen to what
- 11:20Speaker 1: I think I can listen to what she said from
- 11:22Speaker 1: the TMC. Hold on, let me see if I can.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Get you looked so good? Do you have like thirty
- 11:32Speaker 3: seconds to chat quick?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:33Speaker 3: So talking about Kevin Heart roast right.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yes, it was so much fun.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So Monnie Love didn't think so. Monnie Love was like,
- 11:39Speaker 3: you know what, it's exhausting, it's edgy, specifically about the
- 11:42Speaker 3: George Floyd joe. What are you thinking? Is it just comedy?
- 11:47Speaker 3: Should they have been a little less?
- 11:49Speaker 2: I think it should have been shorter. The show was
- 11:51Speaker 2: too long. Okay, I was sitting there at the whole time.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I had to pee something. I didn't hear the George
- 11:55Speaker 2: Floyd joe because I had to pee so bad. I
- 11:59Speaker 2: was a glorified a seat filler that I was tired.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Well also, I mean Lanni and other people were like, oh,
- 12:05Speaker 3: maybe it was a little too racially motivated. What do
- 12:09Speaker 3: you think as far as like the jokes is this
- 12:12Speaker 3: just comedy or are people taking it too seriously?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Is this all comedians saying it that wasn't invited.
- 12:21Speaker 1: They're just jealous they didn't get to go. I could
- 12:23Speaker 1: see that. I could see that it was too long,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and I do kind of agree with the girl that
- 12:29Speaker 1: was asking that now that I was from TMZ. She
- 12:30Speaker 1: was asking if it was too if they were trying
- 12:34Speaker 1: to be too shocking. That's what it seemed like to me.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They were just trying to be over the top shocking
- 12:40Speaker 1: and instead of trying to be funny. So I thought
- 12:44Speaker 1: that was interesting. But you know, if you liked it,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you liked it. If you didn't care for it, guess what.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It's on Netflix. You can just turn it off. It's
- 12:51Speaker 1: really that simple. You don't have to watch it, you know.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So yeah, so I didn't get a chance to talk
- 12:56Speaker 1: about that on the show. I also didn't get into
- 13:00Speaker 1: the Lakers. The Lakers got smoked in the in the playoffs,
- 13:04Speaker 1: which I know a lot of you are a lot
- 13:06Speaker 1: of you Laker fans out there aren't very excited about that.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But also, what are you gonna do with Lebron James?
- 13:13Speaker 1: I mean, is he gonna come back? Is that gonna
- 13:15Speaker 1: be Is he gonna come back to the Lakers? That's
- 13:18Speaker 1: I know, that's a lot of a lot that's going
- 13:20Speaker 1: on right now. People don't know if he's gonna come back.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I was actually gonna see how he felt about that.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I mean, I he probably should just retire, to be
- 13:31Speaker 1: honest with you, at this ay, I mean, is he
- 13:32Speaker 1: still most is he still dominant? I mean, I haven't.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You guys would have to answer that question because you
- 13:37Speaker 1: guys follow basketball a lot more than I do. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: just watched a couple of the playoff games, I think
- 13:44Speaker 1: the last two playoff games, and he didn't. He didn't
- 13:47Speaker 1: look as dominant as he used to, you know what
- 13:50Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I don't know what is gonna happen
- 13:54Speaker 1: to him. I was trying to see right now if
- 13:59Speaker 1: if I could find a story about what he was
- 14:05Speaker 1: gonna do. Hold on, let me see if they're if
- 14:08Speaker 1: anybody's talking about if he's coming back or not, that's
- 14:15Speaker 1: the let's see here. I don't really see anything. I
- 14:19Speaker 1: don't really see any headlines. Lebron. The Lakers need to
- 14:23Speaker 1: be aligned with the Lebron James for next season. Lebron,
- 14:26Speaker 1: Katie and Steph will not win another title. Okay, those
- 14:30Speaker 1: are just different headlines. Eh. I guess we'll see what happens.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That's all you can really do. You never know what
- 14:34Speaker 1: Lebron James, he's pretty good at making and making you
- 14:39Speaker 1: wait and wonder. He's pretty good at that. He does
- 14:40Speaker 1: a good job. What else am I man saying? What
- 14:43Speaker 1: else did I not get into this morning that I
- 14:47Speaker 1: wanted to talk about? I don't think I really have anything.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I don't really think I have a lot. I mean,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I mean, obviously I got a lot of stuff I
- 14:54Speaker 1: try to get into during the radio show, but I
- 14:56Speaker 1: can't always do it, and sometimes I gotta talk about
- 14:59Speaker 1: other stuff that, uh, just people don't want to talk about.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I guess a lot of the stuff that we're going
- 15:03Speaker 1: to talk about as I jump on after the show
- 15:07Speaker 1: is going to be stuff with that. Just a lot
- 15:10Speaker 1: of people don't want to talk about more stuff that.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I'm kind of talking about gas prices. I did hear Uh,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I will tell you something crazy about gas prices, right
- 15:25Speaker 1: they're supposed to. People think they might go down, and
- 15:29Speaker 1: I do want to say this. People think they might
- 15:31Speaker 1: uh that the President might postpone the tax the federal
- 15:37Speaker 1: gas tax so that you don't have to pay what
- 15:39Speaker 1: it's I think it's eighteen cents. I don't know if
- 15:41Speaker 1: it'll happen or not, but even if it does happen,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I don't think these gas stations are going to drop
- 15:45Speaker 1: the price. I mean the state. I don't. They won't. Uh,
- 15:48Speaker 1: they won't put a pause on the state gas tax.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I don't think. But I still don't think that these
- 15:53Speaker 1: gas these uh, these gas stations are going to drop
- 15:56Speaker 1: the price for us. I just they just are so oh,
- 15:59Speaker 1: they're just it's just so bad. It's just so bad.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But to be fair, and I have this is a
- 16:05Speaker 1: conversation I probably should talk to some of you about.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Is a lot of you commute right like I don't commute.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You know, I don't drive very far to the station
- 16:14Speaker 1: every morning. I don't really drive as far as a
- 16:17Speaker 1: lot of you do every day. So I can see
- 16:19Speaker 1: why gas could take a toll. Like gas really doesn't
- 16:23Speaker 1: affect me too much because I don't drive very much,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know. I just I don't go to I don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: go a lot of places. I go to the studio,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I go to the gym, I go to the golf course.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That's about it, and it's all you know. I don't drive.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I probably drive ten miles a day, twelve, I might
- 16:38Speaker 1: drive a little maybe about fifteen miles a day if that.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So gas prices are are still a paint in the butt.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't. I just don't. Yeah, I don't
- 16:51Speaker 1: use it. I don't. I'm not concerned about it as much,
- 16:54Speaker 1: just because I don't see. Sometimes I miss stuff like
- 17:00Speaker 1: Jamie Fox. I just saw his expecting a baby with
- 17:03Speaker 1: an on and off girlfriend of thirty girlfriend three years
- 17:06Speaker 1: after his near fatal experience. What else am I looking at?
- 17:12Speaker 1: H Sometimes I get sometimes I don't get a chance
- 17:17Speaker 1: that to see things, and then I don't. I see them,
- 17:22Speaker 1: but I just kind of move on from them because
- 17:24Speaker 1: I don't. I'm not really political. I'm not really too
- 17:29Speaker 1: much into national news. I kind of like to know
- 17:32Speaker 1: what's going on in Bakersfield and just kind of talk
- 17:35Speaker 1: about some of the most of the stuff that we
- 17:36Speaker 1: have to deal with every day in our hometown. So
- 17:40Speaker 1: I guess I'm at the wrong Oh hold on, let's
- 17:44Speaker 1: see here. What did I miss? What did I miss
- 17:50Speaker 1: that's going on in Bakersfield? Not a lot, Not really
- 17:54Speaker 1: a lot. Going on right in Bakersfield right now. Huh,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, we see, let me see, let
- 18:01Speaker 1: me see. You know, you guys can always comment. You
- 18:04Speaker 1: guys can always let me know if you want me
- 18:06Speaker 1: to talk about something else that I'm forgetting. I know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: I know people will text me every day. Uh oh,
- 18:15Speaker 1: let me see what this is. This is we were
- 18:17Speaker 1: talking about aih Companies name AI as top reason for
- 18:22Speaker 1: job cuts for second straight month. We were talking a
- 18:25Speaker 1: little bit about artificial intelligence as justification for layoffs, according
- 18:30Speaker 1: to a new and a new Uh, has anybody got
- 18:33Speaker 1: laid off because of the AI in Bakersfield? I mean
- 18:36Speaker 1: that seems like it's a national thing. I'm sure somebody has.
- 18:41Speaker 1: How your coworker, so your new coworker is an AI agent,
- 18:47Speaker 1: Here's how to make the best of your relationship. Wow,
- 18:53Speaker 1: that's crazy. I don't know what I do if I
- 18:57Speaker 1: had to work with an AI agent, or if if
- 19:00Speaker 1: I had a co host who is AI. How wild
- 19:02Speaker 1: would that be? Huh? That would be crazy. Let's see here,
- 19:07Speaker 1: truckson Avenue is closed temporarily. Shit, I mean, hmm, not
- 19:15Speaker 1: really a lot going on. I'm just kind of running
- 19:18Speaker 1: through some of the stuff in Bakersfield to see what's
- 19:20Speaker 1: going on, and there's not really a lot going on
- 19:24Speaker 1: other than the heat. We're gonna have to try to
- 19:26Speaker 1: stay warm. So anyware, I guess we'll just oh, here,
- 19:31Speaker 1: find the lowest gas prices in Bakersfield. Hold on, let
- 19:34Speaker 1: me check. The lowest gas price in Bakersfield is where? Wait,
- 19:39Speaker 1: how do I check it? The fast strip on Chester Aft,
- 19:45Speaker 1: South Chester today? Is that? How much? Where is it? Oh?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Five twenty seven cash south Union all oh Alli five
- 19:57Speaker 1: thirty nine at the Amiko know what that is? Gasco
- 20:02Speaker 1: fasterbon Howard's Wilson Airport. Then well, maybe gas will go
- 20:06Speaker 1: down a little bit. That doesn't seem uh, it seems
- 20:09Speaker 1: pretty reasonable right now. Uh but uh, you know, California
- 20:14Speaker 1: has always had high gas, right That's kind of the
- 20:16Speaker 1: cost of doing business to live in California. I have
- 20:18Speaker 1: some friends that I have friends all over the state.
- 20:23Speaker 1: We all grew up, we all went to college together
- 20:25Speaker 1: and grew up together in the same area, and we've
- 20:28Speaker 1: all kind of spread out some in you know, Indiana, Mississippi, Atlanta, Michigan, Minneapolis.
- 20:37Speaker 1: A couple of us stayed here in California. We're not
- 20:39Speaker 1: gonna leave, I don't think. But that's kind of the
- 20:43Speaker 1: cost of doing business, you know. And I've said this before,
- 20:46Speaker 1: this is nothing new. I like California. I like living
- 20:50Speaker 1: in Bakersfield. The heat doesn't bother me. I think, Uh,
- 20:54Speaker 1: there's some great people that live here. We have some
- 20:56Speaker 1: good we have some good food, we have some good restaurants.
- 21:00Speaker 1: We have said things to do that are very affordable,
- 21:03Speaker 1: but especially golf. I play a lot of golf, so
- 21:05Speaker 1: that's inexpensive. But we got a lot. We got a
- 21:08Speaker 1: lot going on. We've got some great places to hang out.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I mean, the heat will get to you, but that's
- 21:13Speaker 1: what they make air conditioning for, you know. The only
- 21:17Speaker 1: there's not really a downside. That's why I said I'll
- 21:19Speaker 1: never leave California. To have friends that live in San Diego.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I have some friends that live out in Palm Springs.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I have some friends that still live up in the Bay,
- 21:26Speaker 1: and I don't know they all like it. Everybody seems
- 21:31Speaker 1: to like California. No reason to go anywhere, for no
- 21:33Speaker 1: reason to leave it all. Oh, anyway, I'm trying to
- 21:38Speaker 1: just remember. If there's anything else I wanted to get
- 21:42Speaker 1: to this morning, it's taco Tuesday, so we got to
- 21:45Speaker 1: go get some tacos later on a cold beer. But uh,
- 21:50Speaker 1: I can't remember. I don't think there's really I think
- 21:53Speaker 1: that's it. I did want to talk about the Kevin
- 21:56Speaker 1: Hart a little bit because I thought they were trying
- 21:59Speaker 1: too hard most of them. And I'm just curious how
- 22:02Speaker 1: you guys, if you guys liked it or not, and
- 22:07Speaker 1: what was the other thing. I just we'll see. So anyway, guys,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm just gonna start jumping on after the show. Every
- 22:16Speaker 1: whenever there's things I write down. When I do the show,
- 22:21Speaker 1: there's things that I write down, and then there's things
- 22:23Speaker 1: that I want to talk about, and I'll never get
- 22:25Speaker 1: to it. I just I never will. So the only
- 22:27Speaker 1: time I'm gonna get to some of this other stuff
- 22:29Speaker 1: is when I'm not in the studio and there's not
- 22:33Speaker 1: enough time for everything. So you guys keep checking out,
- 22:36Speaker 1: check out the podcast, check out everything that we do.
- 22:39Speaker 1: We do I do recap the show for you, so
- 22:41Speaker 1: there's a lot for you to listen to if you
- 22:43Speaker 1: want to check out the content. And of course, if
- 22:45Speaker 1: you got anything you want me to get into, will
- 22:46Speaker 1: able us to get into it. I'm gonna try to
- 22:48Speaker 1: spend a lot more time basically talking about Bakersfield, you know,
- 22:52Speaker 1: because we got restaurants, we got entertainment, we got things
- 22:56Speaker 1: going on. I obviously try to get out as much
- 22:59Speaker 1: as I can, hand to do different things. You know.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I go to well, you guys know, I go to
- 23:05Speaker 1: just Wing and I go to Social House. I try
- 23:06Speaker 1: to be out around. I go to Losa Got This,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I go to MarCad of Let you know. I try
- 23:10Speaker 1: to go to I try to do a lot of
- 23:11Speaker 1: things in Bakersfield because I like living here and they're fun,
- 23:16Speaker 1: you know. So we'll talk a lot, we'll get it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: We'll get into a lot more about what's going on
- 23:20Speaker 1: and keep you dated, keep you up to date on
- 23:22Speaker 1: what's happening around town. All right, guys, I'll talk to
- 23:24Speaker 1: you later.
