- 0:09YouTube, please hit that subscribe button.
- 0:11And if you are listening on Spotify, your Apple podcast, do
- 0:15us a favour, leave us a five star rating.
- 0:17So insha'allah, we can grow this platform together and of course,
- 0:21allows other people to discover our content.
- 0:24Now brothers and sisters, today we want to talk about anger, but
- 0:28not just the emotion. What's beyond that feeling that
- 0:31we have? And many of us, we get angry.
- 0:34Maybe our spouse has something sharp on the tongue.
- 0:37Maybe we were driving on the A4 O 6 and someone overtook us or
- 0:40perhaps much Sabah forgot press record on numerous episodes.
- 0:44Anyhow, we are joined by an amazing and fantastic guest
- 0:48who's going to allow us to go there in depth with greater
- 0:51detail to understand and navigate this conversation on
- 0:54anger. And before we introduce our dear
- 0:56respected say it, I need to turn and shake hands with Ahmed as
- 1:00Salaam Ali. Alaikum Salaam Allah, how are
- 1:12you saying al Hamdallah? Well, how are you?
- 1:14I'm good. I'm good at Hamdallah.
- 1:16I'm looking forward to today's discussion.
- 1:18It's a topic and we're with a guest who we've been waiting for
- 1:23a long time, Hamdallah, to have on the topic.
- 1:27I know you mentioned anger, of course, on a personal level,
- 1:29something we all feel, we all witness.
- 1:32We may have resentment towards people, even people close to us
- 1:35in our lives. We may have anger in moments or
- 1:38outbursts of, of interaction. But also on a broader scale of
- 1:41ancestors, on a theological level, what about the the anger
- 1:44of our last Pantala, we call Allah al Montatem, for example,
- 1:48you know, the one who retaliates or Avengers or inflicts
- 1:52retaliation and so on. Like what does that mean?
- 1:55How can you have a God who, who shows and displays these kind
- 1:58of, I don't want to say emotions, but let's say
- 2:00characteristics or attributes. And then more so for ancestors.
- 2:04It goes without saying, the world we live in at the moment
- 2:07has made us in some ways feel anger when we see the
- 2:12oppression, the complete violation on, on human rights,
- 2:15on human dignity. And as such we feel angry.
- 2:18We feel angry at the world around us, the so-called leaders
- 2:21we have in society today. And that leads us to this
- 2:25conversation. Brans sisters.
- 2:26So on that note, I'm very honoured.
- 2:28We're both very honoured and grateful to welcome someone
- 2:31who's done a lot for our community has so has meant a lot
- 2:34to me on a personal level and I've learned from for probably
- 2:37over a decade now. So Hassan asada Salaam alaikum
- 2:40Seidna. Alaikum Salaam alaikum seiddah.
- 2:43Alaikum, thank you so much for being here.
- 2:45Thank you very much to Seid Ali and Haj Ahmed for this kind
- 2:48invitation to be with the respected audience and after
- 2:51Maharab and Inshallah we will have a fruitful discussion.
- 2:54Charlotte. Charlotte, thank you for being
- 2:56here and say before we start the conversation if I can just say
- 2:59thank you for the many years that we have learnt from you and
- 3:02and members of the community like yourself.
- 3:05If I can mention brother for example, Sajjad back in the day
- 3:08said Ali Khan Khali. These are names I grew up with
- 3:11and I know so much. I may Allah bless you and
- 3:13protect your. Life said.
- 3:15I can't wait for the viewers to fall in love with what you have
- 3:17to say. I know, I know without doubt
- 3:20they're going to love it, Inshallah said.
- 3:22I think a good place to start is probably on this note, as
- 3:25discussed the the kind of the mood in the community, how
- 3:29people are feeling, especially in the last few months.
- 3:33Would you agree that perhaps there is a temperament in the
- 3:37Community which was not perhaps there in in the years prior the
- 3:40moment? Absolutely.
- 3:46We are seeing more of the oppression and the injustice
- 3:51that's taking place across the whole world.
- 3:56And I think people have the right to be angry.
- 3:59However, Hajj Ahmed, I'd like to remind myself and the audience
- 4:04that despite what we're seeing, and I'm going to say it and I'm
- 4:12going to very be quick in, in making a, a disclaimer, none of
- 4:19this historically is new. The disclaimer is no
- 4:24justification. Disclaimer is this is not so
- 4:28that we become indifferent to what's happening, that we fall
- 4:32silent. No, but framing is very
- 4:36important. If you want to deal with anger
- 4:40or mainly with the source of our anger globally, which is the
- 4:45injustice, the crimes, the oppression, then framing is very
- 4:51important on a personal level as well.
- 4:55But the framing is different there and framing our lives.
- 5:01Personally, I think you have to take a few steps back and
- 5:07remember that you need to see the world in a different way
- 5:13using a different lens. The lens that probably many
- 5:20people across the world are using is the very self centric
- 5:23lens. While the right the correct way
- 5:27for us a community of believers has to be the God centre
- 5:32cleanse. When you frame the existence of
- 5:35our world with our last Panetta Allah the Creator at the centre,
- 5:40you see everything in a very different way.
- 5:44Again, disclaimer not this is not for us to try and become
- 5:54basically occupied with our own lives, live in a bubble and say
- 6:00this is all and alas Pantala is seeing all this, he will take
- 6:04care of it. On the contrary, Inshallah will
- 6:07the discussion will bring out the main messages from from our
- 6:11faith. But I think framing is of utmost
- 6:14importance. Allah is at the centre of our
- 6:17lives and our lives need to revolve around Him and around
- 6:22His will. And when we do that, we can deal
- 6:26with the source of the injustice.
- 6:27We can even deal with the anger in a far more productive way.
- 6:33Beautiful. Say thank you for, I think
- 6:35emphasising on the framing because it is important as
- 6:38Muslims to understand that if we were to get angry, it's for the
- 6:41sake of Allah, Subhanahu wata al and I.
- 6:44And I think that's important as well to understand the different
- 6:46lenses that I'm sure we'll speak about in today's episode.
- 6:49And I think say, if I can ask a question just to understand,
- 6:52because there is a huge difference between when we get
- 6:54angry as human beings, it's a feeling, it's an emotion.
- 6:58It's it's like an after effect of maybe someone has betrayed us
- 7:01or maybe someone has hurt us amongst many different examples.
- 7:06But when it comes to Allah's over gel, it's completely
- 7:09different because what I want to understand is a last final what
- 7:13Alice says he gets angry. For example, I can open up the
- 7:16Quran and I come across verses where Allah, Azzawajal, he says,
- 7:20for example, when it comes to the hypocrites men and the
- 7:24hypocrite women, the mushrikeen, I am angry with them and I curse
- 7:29them and for them as the punishment of hell.
- 7:32And we see a level where a long mighty speaks about being angry.
- 7:36But what is that divine anger? What is that above up?
- 7:39This is the difference between US and when I.
- 7:42Lost final This is an opportunity for us to be
- 7:44reminded of the limitations of language.
- 7:47Yeah. When it comes to describing the
- 7:49Almighty Sopano attack, language has limitations.
- 7:55So anger, when it's used to describe a human being, it's the
- 8:02same word that Allah use it to describe himself.
- 8:07It's very different for a human being.
- 8:09It's literal. It's a literal change of inner
- 8:12state. There's change.
- 8:16Change is not applicable rationally to the essence of
- 8:21Allah. Spanatal Allah does not change.
- 8:24Therefore this change of state, yeah, from angry to not angry,
- 8:30yeah, doesn't apply. So the use of the word anger or
- 8:36angry with Allah spanatala is metaphorical, is not literal.
- 8:42What probably it represents, our scholars say, and we have a
- 8:45hadith from albeit Alim Salaam explaining this, it what it
- 8:49really represents is the actions of Allah, Subhanahu to Allah of
- 8:54punishment or withdrawing, the withdrawal of his mercy from
- 9:00someone, a hypocrite, a criminal, someone who rejects
- 9:06the truth. Yeah, this is another good
- 9:09opportunity to remind ourselves. The definition of the
- 9:11translation of a kafir is someone who rejects the truth,
- 9:15not a non believer. No, kafir is someone who rejects
- 9:19the truth. Yeah, so a criminal, someone who
- 9:22rejects the truth, a hypocrite. Allah is angry with them, means
- 9:27Allah will withdraw his mercy from them, said the action.
- 9:31Allah will punish them, but the same word is used completely
- 9:37different way, metaphorical and literal to human beings.
- 9:42OK. So I think one thing which I
- 9:44find interesting is when we understand our last point to
- 9:47others anger quote UN quote in the theological lens.
- 9:52One thing I've slowly tried to come to terms with, especially
- 9:56kind of understanding everything from early Islamic history.
- 10:00And whether we look in the Quran, we look at for all, for
- 10:02example, or we look in, for example, the, the, the life and
- 10:05even after the, the passing of Salaam Muhammad, Salallahu
- 10:08Alayhi Ali. And a lot of the actions which
- 10:11took place is to understand that Allah's justice, his mercy.
- 10:15And we can say the wrath that Allah shows can all be symbiotic
- 10:20and they can be synchronized alongside one another.
- 10:23It's not, as you said, a change of state.
- 10:25I think it's difficult for us to kind of come to terms with that.
- 10:29And we, as you said, and just to re emphasize as well for my own
- 10:33understanding and benefit is we tend to see things in a very
- 10:36human like lens, as you said. So I, I perceive things in a way
- 10:40where in, in, in a way I'd see things myself.
- 10:44It's hard for us to understand that Allah can be merciful
- 10:48through his justice or his punishment, for example, and,
- 10:51and, and be that simultaneously. How do we kind of see that in
- 10:56the current state of play in, in world affairs today?
- 10:58So for example, someone is angry at the oppression they see.
- 11:02People are losing their lives, children are losing their lives,
- 11:05for example, I'm angry at seeing this injustice.
- 11:08I'm angry that for example, rightly so.
- 11:10Yeah, I'm angry and rightly so. And I feel for example, why
- 11:14hasn't the law what happened, for example, of the awaited
- 11:17amount much lot to Allah Fajr Sharif?
- 11:19Or for example, why hasn't Allah struck down the oppressors?
- 11:23And so many endless questions one could ask themselves out
- 11:26loud or even in their thoughts, you know, in the on their pillow
- 11:29before they go to sleep and they're wondering, you're
- 11:31scrolling on social media and they're seeing horrific images.
- 11:35How do we kind of come to terms with these things internally
- 11:38when we understand what happens around us in the world today and
- 11:41the justification we can give or perhaps we can come to terms
- 11:45with with Allah's will? Sometimes we come to terms with
- 11:49it, bearing in mind several points #1 theologically this
- 11:57life, Hayat Dunya, which could mean the lower life or could
- 12:04mean the near life, is not worth much in relation to the
- 12:15hereafter. Nothing.
- 12:21In fact, when you compare it to the hereafter, to the real life,
- 12:24theologically, from our point of view, from the God centric point
- 12:30of view, from the God centric paradigm, this is nothing
- 12:35compared to the afterlife. Once again, disclaimer, this is
- 12:40not to undermine any form of injustice that's happening.
- 12:45In fact, whatever we go through in this life will determine,
- 12:50sorry, yeah. What happens in the afterlife?
- 12:54However, it's important to remind oneself that this life
- 13:00Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala has created, it, has designed it in
- 13:04a way for injustice to take place.
- 13:10A few centuries ago, the main sources of injustice and
- 13:16oppression on a large scale were not the current forces were
- 13:21different forces closer to home. They were the main sources of
- 13:27injustice, right? Which in a way makes it slightly
- 13:31easier for us to stand against oppression.
- 13:35So that's the first point. One has to remind himself or
- 13:39herself that this life is just a hunter.
- 13:45It's just a a bridge is it's a journey that everyone has to go
- 13:52through. And one of the beautiful, most
- 13:57beautiful descriptions are the words of Sayda Shohada Ali
- 14:00Asala, a man who's been through one of the most horrific
- 14:07examples of injustice. He said himself in Namin Hawani
- 14:13Duniya al Allah that this life is so pity in the eyes of Allah
- 14:21Subhanahu Ta'ala that he allowed the head of Yahyab Nazaria,
- 14:28Prophet John the Baptist, to be gifted to a prostitute Abari.
- 14:38They killed him, beheaded him and gave his head as a gift to
- 14:44someone who was at the lowest, the lowest levels of nearness to
- 14:54Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala from not leading a godly life.
- 14:58So Seydi Shuhada describes this life being such a, you know of,
- 15:05of so of negligible value in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala.
- 15:09And so it was in the for all the prophets in the imams.
- 15:14Just the first thing we have to remind ourselves #2 Allah, Allah
- 15:18is in charge and whatever happens, Allah, Allah is all
- 15:24seeing. And there's a beautiful verse in
- 15:27the Quran which when the events in Reza started, I had to remind
- 15:35myself of it. It's a verse.
- 15:37It's part of a verse in Surat Muhammad sallallahu, the chapter
- 15:41named after the Holy Prophet. The verse states the alikewala
- 15:48weyesha allahu lentasaraminhum walaq in liyeblu baava kumbi
- 15:54baav. If Allah wanted he would have
- 15:57defeated them. Describing the those who reject
- 16:01the truth and they were fighting the prophet and the Muslims at
- 16:05the time went through hardship after hardship to defend the
- 16:10prophet and to defend the religion of Islam.
- 16:12Allah tells them if Allah wanted to, Allah would have defeated
- 16:16them. Well akin but Allah wants this
- 16:22to continue or Allah allows it to continue.
- 16:26Lia blue Baba kumba bath so he that he would test you versus
- 16:30each other, you against them. If this form of injustice did
- 16:34not exist, then you will not be tested.
- 16:39And it's and this is the wisdom of this life.
- 16:41So number one, this life is not worth much.
- 16:47We will meet again with all these oppressors and the
- 16:50oppressed, and we will live forever that innocent child,
- 16:55innocent man and woman in Palestine, in Palestine and
- 17:01Lebanon and Iran and Sudan, everywhere.
- 17:04We will see them again. We will meet again and #2 Allah
- 17:11allows us so that He would test us.
- 17:13What would we do? And has, I think another
- 17:18important point, how do we face this again, to remember that
- 17:23this has happened before with a disclaimer.
- 17:26We're not going to be silent. And the fourth point is that we
- 17:33should listen to the people who are going through it.
- 17:37And when you see when you listen to the to those brothers and
- 17:41sisters in in, in, in, in Palestine and Lebanon, in Iran
- 17:46and Yemen, when they're going through this and you hear them
- 17:52saying that this is FISA Bill Allah, that we are ready to give
- 17:58FISA Bill Allah, that we are enduring this for the sake of
- 18:02Allah. Subhanahu to Allah should make
- 18:04the listener who's not living there is not going through that
- 18:11reminds them that the person who's going through that many of
- 18:14them, Masha Allah, Masha'allah many of them, they do see the
- 18:20truth and they are enduring this in a godly way, in a strong way.
- 18:28They know that this suffering is temporary.
- 18:31They know and we should be supporting them.
- 18:33We should be with them, we should be defending them.
- 18:37But when you when, when the one you're defending you're
- 18:39defending is proclaiming that I am enduring this visa, Bililla,
- 18:44and I'm not going to be silent. I will defend my land.
- 18:51I will fight against oppression. When you hear it from that
- 18:56person should make you feel more at peace.
- 19:05Not less angry, but more at peace with where you are.
- 19:10You're on the right side of history.
- 19:13You're defending the right people.
- 19:15And that your people are aware of the wisdom of what's
- 19:19happening. Yeah.
- 19:22Absent that's. Very you've given me so much
- 19:25reminders. I I remember as well.
- 19:28If I can just touch on my guys there a bit as well.
- 19:31It's been over 2 years now. I remember at the very
- 19:33beginning, I think it's very silly if I say it was confusing
- 19:37to understand what was going on because we would question
- 19:40ourselves, OK, there is so much horrific crimes and aggression
- 19:43taking place, like where is God and all of this?
- 19:46But I remember I had the conversation with a few friends
- 19:49and we sort of realized that the test is not just for those, it's
- 19:52for us that we get to understand what side are we on?
- 19:57How do we use our voices? Are we able to distinguish
- 20:00between right and wrong, the hack and battling.
- 20:03So the test was for the vault, and it wasn't just for them.
- 20:05So we asked the last one of Atala to alleviate all this
- 20:09aggression that's happening against all the believers around
- 20:12the world. But if I can just come back to
- 20:15something, say it. You mentioned no silence, and
- 20:19rightly so, a few times in the last few minutes.
- 20:22What do you mean by that? For someone that's listening,
- 20:24why are you emphasizing on that? If you're a godly person, if
- 20:34you're, if you're, if your aim in life is to align your will
- 20:42with God's will, which is the aim should be the aim of every
- 20:45believer. Now I know very likely amongst
- 20:50the people listening to this podcast, people who may not
- 20:52share this view about the world, yet they are on this on the
- 20:57right side of history. They are with the people of
- 20:59Palestine, Lebanon and Iran, Yemen and Sudan, and they are
- 21:03defending the oppressed. And we are honoured to have
- 21:08people who not necessarily share the same view of the world, but
- 21:14they can see the truth and they defend the truth and we are with
- 21:18them. They're not on our side.
- 21:20We're on the same side, the side of the oppressed and the soul of
- 21:23the truth, Insha'allah. However, what's going now should
- 21:29not dilute our commitment to our faith that we see this and we
- 21:35see life at home, challenges with a spouse and raising
- 21:39children. All face a billah, all within
- 21:43this got centre of paradigm. Yeah, our journey is to get
- 21:49proximity to our last pantad Yahyuh al Insano in Nakakadihan
- 21:54Illa Rabbikadihan Famulaki. O human being, O man, you shall
- 22:00strive to your Lord Rabbika, to your Lord, a thorough striving,
- 22:12and you shall meet him. So we are heading towards
- 22:16meeting Rabbi Alameen. Yeah.
- 22:19And we want to gain proximity. And the way we do that is to
- 22:25align our will with his will all the time.
- 22:28Small decisions about what to watch, what to listen to, what
- 22:33to say, how to deal with anger with a spouse, a mother, how to
- 22:37deal with oppression. And one of these examples of
- 22:43lining our will with His will is not to be silent when there is
- 22:48such oppression, injustice and crimes happening.
- 22:53However, everyone's circumstances are different.
- 22:59The listeners, they live in different parts of the world and
- 23:03they have different personal circumstances.
- 23:06Hence, as followers of prophets, as followers of the inheritors
- 23:11of the prophets, the imams, Salaam Salaam, we should be very
- 23:15wise. One of the traits of believers
- 23:21is that they are wise. They understand their
- 23:23environment. They talk about in leadership,
- 23:26they talk about understanding the environment.
- 23:29This is one of the main traits of a believer is to understand
- 23:32the environment and global environment and the smaller
- 23:37micro environment. So what to do, what to say, how
- 23:44to say it. You should be very wise.
- 23:47You should consult, you should ask for advice, you should check
- 23:52even the terminology, even the the words you use.
- 23:59You have to be very careful, very careful.
- 24:03And I refer people to the Holy Quran, to the Sunnah of the
- 24:10Prophet Salahu Ali, the traditions of albeit Alim
- 24:15Salaam, and to the lives of our Alema, the legacy of our
- 24:22scholars and our leaders. Read their lives, study them,
- 24:27and you will have countless examples of wisdom, of what to
- 24:32say and when to say it. So Salah, you asked me what to
- 24:35say. Depends where you are.
- 24:38You have to do something. You have to do something the
- 24:41minimum. And again, I'm not asking people
- 24:44to do the minimum, but I'm giving example examples to the
- 24:50audience that let's say you are living in a place where you
- 24:56can't say anything publicly, you can't declare anything.
- 25:04Then if you are and there are people who live in such
- 25:07circumstances and if you are such a person, then the least
- 25:13you could do is within your own micro environment within your
- 25:18household. Make sure you talk to your
- 25:20spouse and to your children about this.
- 25:24I hope you're not living in a in a place currently where it
- 25:28doesn't allow you to talk to your children.
- 25:31That's true. And if such place exists, then
- 25:33then you can do something even less than that.
- 25:38Certainly in Iraq. When I lived in Iraq in the 80s
- 25:42and the 90s, you, in order to protect your family, parents had
- 25:51to even restrict what they talk to their children about.
- 25:56Yeah. So we've been through this, but
- 25:59inshallah not at the moment. What can you do if even if you
- 26:03can't do that, you can do duha? Honestly just say the duha and
- 26:10and if you can do it in a jamaat at home or on your own, read it
- 26:16in a in a in a voice that you can hear yourself and pray for
- 26:20the oppressed pray, pray upon the valimin, the oppressed pray.
- 26:28Just ask Allah, Subhanahu to Allah to destroy them.
- 26:32Say it, say it. And I'm not here.
- 26:37I'm not obviously, I hope I'm not saying that the value of
- 26:40Doha is, is is the lowest stuff for Allah.
- 26:42It's it's, it's the weapon of the believer.
- 26:44Yeah, should be the bare minimum, but it's it's the bare
- 26:47minimum you can do individually, individually.
- 26:50But you. Constantly have to do it.
- 26:51You have to do Doha. Doha or Amin, right?
- 26:54But even the Doha itself has value.
- 26:58It's the weapon of the believer and it reminds you that you have
- 27:01to do something. But a shallow you can do more.
- 27:05Talk to your children, talk to your spouse, talk to people
- 27:08around you. If you can do more.
- 27:10Be very careful with your choice of words.
- 27:12Be very careful. And what some people can say in
- 27:19one part of the world, it certainly means something
- 27:23different in a different part. So you don't have to copy and
- 27:26paste. Use the same terminology and the
- 27:29same description. Be wise.
- 27:33Be wise if I can. Just add as well.
- 27:35So then I'm sorry, I know we had like a slightly different trade
- 27:40of thought in terms of the topic.
- 27:41And I do want to get to a couple of the points about individual
- 27:43anger, but I'm so hooked and engrossed on this particular
- 27:48discussion and these talking points because I feel I
- 27:51personally connect to these these points.
- 27:52And I think you've mentioned some real gems there, especially
- 27:55in terms of the Hikma you have in terms of assessing your
- 27:58environment and knowing what to say and when to say, speaking to
- 28:04your own communities, your own families.
- 28:06The our point, I think as well beyond that, as we can continue
- 28:11continually show activism through in some cases action,
- 28:15but also in other cases in action.
- 28:17So for example, choosing where you buy your coffee, choosing
- 28:21what cars you buy, what devices you buy, things like that.
- 28:25Because we live in a day and age now where everything is so
- 28:27intertwined. You know, a lot of a lot of
- 28:30these brands are kind of, you know, working towards sources
- 28:33which are destructive for the Omar.
- 28:35And I think we have to be very conscious of that as well.
- 28:39Can I slightly go off topics Eid, particularly in terms of
- 28:43the notion before we? Go.
- 28:44Can I just say, yeah, of course, that to help people deal with
- 28:48this anger about the global events we talked about
- 28:53theologically, they have to see, you know, frame it.
- 28:57Allah is in charge. This has happened before.
- 29:00Study the lives of the prophets, the imams, the scholars.
- 29:03Be very wise of what you say, but also be reminded that the
- 29:10side of the truth, Jabhat al Haq, the side of the oppressed
- 29:16to help people deal with anger. I'm adding another point.
- 29:20Had you before we move on inshallah and this and this
- 29:24Shallah, beneficial discussion. The side of the truth is far
- 29:28stronger nowadays than when it was 50 or 100 years ago.
- 29:33Let people be assured of this 100%.
- 29:36So you're feeling angry because of what you're seeing.
- 29:38What's happened to the people of Reza Philistine Lebanon, of
- 29:43course, but be reminded that there are so many people who are
- 29:50seeing this. The global awareness is far
- 29:55higher than what it was before People.
- 30:00People's previous assumption that the current world order is
- 30:05a good world order is disappearing, which which
- 30:11strengthens the side of the truth.
- 30:14One of our main messages to the people of the world is that we
- 30:18should lead a a godly life. We should lead a life in
- 30:25accordance to the divine guidance and we all should be
- 30:30working together on these common values and common aims and the
- 30:34best way to achieve them is through the way of Allah Subhana
- 30:38Ta'ala right? Some people in this world were
- 30:42tricked to believe that the current world order will be
- 30:47sufficient to solve the problems of wars, poverty, diseases, the
- 30:54the huge gap between the rich and the poor.
- 30:57Look where we are. It's you know, we are into the
- 31:0121st century. The first quarter has gone and
- 31:04the malaria targets the, the, the dreams and the hopes.
- 31:11Where? Where are we?
- 31:12So the failure of the current model, which is the alternative
- 31:18Model 1 of many alternative models, is a sign that the side
- 31:24of the truth is stronger. What you what some people were
- 31:30tricked to believe a few decades ago is that you don't have to
- 31:34follow the godly model. Follow this model.
- 31:36You'll be fine, you know, with their so-called freedom and
- 31:40liberation and a particular economic model of capitalism and
- 31:44so on. We.
- 31:45We will. Solve it right.
- 31:48Look where we are. So had you just to finish that.
- 31:52There is a lot of hope, not just metaphysical hope, not just hope
- 31:57and and and and and and. In Divine Mercy, that shall
- 32:02come. It is here already.
- 32:04It's tangible. Yeah.
- 32:05Exactly as we are. Very interesting.
- 32:07Yeah. So be reminded that you're
- 32:09stronger as believers and as those who fight for justice.
- 32:14You are stronger. Yes, we're unable to stop the
- 32:19criminals from committing their crimes, but awareness, which
- 32:25should lead to collaboration, is higher, I said.
- 32:28I said. I think that leads me onto this
- 32:31exact talking point. But on that point, I think it's
- 32:35interesting because you look at the state of affairs 100 years
- 32:38ago when you had the British Empire at the peak of its
- 32:40powers, you know, colonialism and the British Empire control
- 32:441/3 of the world, you know, economically and kind of in
- 32:47terms of land mass as well. If you look at, for example,
- 32:49even within the Shiite themselves, the shrine of Man
- 32:53Hussein was attacked 100 years ago.
- 32:55Jonathan Bucky was demolished and razed to the ground 100
- 32:58years ago and things and of course it goes without saying
- 33:01you had the the Great War and then the rise of fascism in
- 33:04Europe and so many other things. Native Americans, what the
- 33:07persecution continued into the phase of the early 20th century.
- 33:12The list goes on and on. And today's day and age we see
- 33:15oppression in a slightly different way.
- 33:18So although we won't see perhaps the millions killed in wars in
- 33:21the same numbers with the the lesser attention then compared
- 33:26to what it would get now and and lesser numbers.
- 33:28However, we see oppression on different levels now, for
- 33:31example, very internalized the oppression we have from these
- 33:33devices. For example, the oppression on
- 33:35the soul. When we say the lump to enough
- 33:37sea, it also, I would imagine, means what I'm doing to myself.
- 33:42You know, the neglect I have for myself, my own growth, my the
- 33:46stimulation of my own spirituality and these kind of
- 33:48things. Well, as Shia, I believe we are
- 33:51born and raised in an emotional and in the sentimental
- 33:56community. Our God like model and the God
- 33:59like communities or godly communities we are are raised in
- 34:03allows us to connect on an emotional level to the
- 34:06representatives of Allah Allah. So for example, we look at all
- 34:10Salaam Muhammad sallallallahu alaihi Imam Hossein Imam has a
- 34:17all of these figures we then connect to we, we try our best
- 34:23to understand the pain they went through as individuals and then
- 34:27we connect that with something to come.
- 34:30When we say Yalitharat Al Hussain, we talk about Mahmoud
- 34:33Mehdi's like the the global order to come.
- 34:36We try and draw a picture between what has happened and
- 34:39what is to come. I'm seeing a lot now, more in
- 34:42the last few weeks and months. I saw today a YouTube comment,
- 34:46Subhanallah, which says the events of recent history or in
- 34:49the last few months have led me to explore Shiism because this
- 34:53seems like a godly religion, Subhanallah, word for word.
- 34:57I saw on a, on a friend's YouTube video actually.
- 34:59And it it, it raises the question, how do we connect?
- 35:03And this I know, I forgive me said, because I know we didn't
- 35:06prepare you for this question, but how do we connect what we
- 35:10have internalized? So for example, the Azhar that
- 35:15we have and the commemoration we have for Imam Hussein with the
- 35:19message of Imam and Mehdi and what we are told to prepare for.
- 35:23And then propagating this, these values to the people around us
- 35:27who may be on the side of justice in a human way, but not
- 35:31inside of God theologically or in terms of submission to Allah.
- 35:35So for example, people who are social, socially inclined
- 35:39towards social justice or whatever.
- 35:42Sorry, I know it's a very loaded question, but I'm I'm curious to
- 35:44know your thoughts on this. The divinely chosen people,
- 35:52prophets, imams, their legacy is for people at all times.
- 36:03It's to inspire, motivate people at every generation and with
- 36:12every generation we are moving closer and closer to the
- 36:17promised day. Eliom El Mohout, the day on
- 36:25which a loss of panel to Allah will fulfil his promise that
- 36:28this earth will be filled with justice just like it was filled
- 36:33with injustice. So this is a a promise, a pledge
- 36:37from a loss of panel to that will happen no matter what
- 36:40people think. We are prohibited from making
- 36:48any timing and saying the vahor is near or the exactly.
- 36:53We don't speculate, Acento, but what we are sure about is that
- 37:00we are coming closer and closer and therefore we have to be
- 37:11aware of the this treasure that has been there for every
- 37:14generation. But more importantly, with the
- 37:17generations, as they approach the promised day, it becomes
- 37:21even more relevant to us and to them because this is the only
- 37:28way through which humanity can reach this state of perfection.
- 37:35This is a good opportunity to remind our audience, who may not
- 37:38share, like you said, our theological paradigm, to remind
- 37:47them that the aim of the creation, according to Islam,
- 37:53according to the school of adebate, is to reach perfection
- 37:56on an individual level, on a community level and on a global
- 38:00level. This is the aim of the creation.
- 38:03Insulted the Ariat alas hana ta'ala mentions how to bilam
- 38:07shershit online regime O mahalaktul jinn well inse ilali
- 38:12abuddin, this is to answer your question.
- 38:14Hajj alas says in this verse that I've only created Jin and
- 38:23mankind for only one reason is to worship me.
- 38:29Now the definition of worship, according to one of our most
- 38:32prominent scholars, say the Muhammad al Sadr, known as the
- 38:35second southern martyr. He writes in his Encyclopedia of
- 38:39Mahdi Ajilah Farajah. He writes the definition of Ebad
- 38:46is to align your will with God's will in every for every thought
- 38:54and every action, every word you say before you say it, you try
- 38:59and align it with God's will. Everything that you believe in,
- 39:04you try and align it with the truth, which is what Allah's
- 39:07will is. Everything you do, you align it.
- 39:11And if you continue to do that and, and since Allah's will is
- 39:17the perfect world, then everything you start doing
- 39:19becomes right. So you start ascending towards
- 39:23perfection day by day, moment by moment, on an individual level,
- 39:30the aim of the creation, the aim of having a divinely chosen
- 39:34message. Islam is to guide people towards
- 39:38perfection, individual level and a global level.
- 39:45And the main mission of the awaited Saviour, the 12th Imam,
- 39:50Imam Mahdi Ajah Allah Farajah, which all Muslims believe in, is
- 39:55that He will lead humanity towards this final stage, final
- 39:59phase of perfection. Helping him should be those.
- 40:05This what say Muhammad Hassan describes as a pyramid of
- 40:10people. The higher up you go in the
- 40:15level of sincerity to the godly model, in this, in the level of
- 40:19class, in the level of being faithful to the message, the
- 40:24higher you go, the less people will be there.
- 40:26But you're all part of the same pyramid.
- 40:31He's at the top with the best of people just below him and below
- 40:35them and below them and so on. So yes, we may describe it as
- 40:41Jeb hat Al Haq, the side of the truth or the front of the truth.
- 40:45But we're talking about a pyramid of people of varying
- 40:48degrees of awareness and commitment and sincerity to the
- 40:52godly model could be right at the bottom.
- 40:55I don't want to say bottom because I am kind of undermining
- 40:59people's commitment to justice, but compared to the higher
- 41:03level, it becomes kind of very basic.
- 41:06There's also. Wider in terms of volume of
- 41:08people, it's wider. In terms of volume of people,
- 41:11but to remind the audience that liberating a land is not enough,
- 41:17Yeah, of course it's more. Than that, yeah, yeah.
- 41:21We have many parts of the world that are not occupied, not under
- 41:25illegal occupation. We have many parts of the world
- 41:28that are that have a some sort of political freedom.
- 41:35And look what's happening to these.
- 41:36I know, I know the focus is now Philistine and Lebanon and
- 41:39Yemen, rightly so, and Iran, of course, and Sudan and and
- 41:47Abala's sisters in Somalia and so on.
- 41:50But look at the state of the people across the whole world.
- 41:54Liberating a land is not enough. Giving people some kind of a
- 42:03system simply to vote could bring you people with the
- 42:07audacity of the current president of the United States
- 42:11of America, you know, perfectly legal path to power.
- 42:21But we know that it's such a porous system that allows
- 42:24interest groups and, and, and money to dominate and, and, and,
- 42:31and, and divert people's attention and, and distract
- 42:37people. What are we trying to say?
- 42:41We're trying to say that philistine has reignited this
- 42:48thirst for justice, but liberating a land on its own is
- 42:54not the answer. You can liberate a land and
- 42:58install a system so unfair to the people that you could even
- 43:04make the problem of poverty and discrimination worse.
- 43:10Yeah, and you could liberate a land and make an empire and
- 43:18become the largest terrorist organization in the world.
- 43:23Yeah, quite. Literally, yeah.
- 43:26So having modernity, and I don't know if civilization is the
- 43:31right word, Liberalism, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 43:34But having modernity and megacities and power and
- 43:38science, you could be the source of the injustice.
- 43:42So what we're calling for is to re evaluate the whole paradigm.
- 43:51Yeah, we will work together on basic rights.
- 43:56We will work together on fighting basic forms of
- 44:00injustices. But ultimately we want to end
- 44:04all wars. We want to help all the people
- 44:08of the world. We want to stop diseases and
- 44:15help scientists to discover treatments, not only for
- 44:22illnesses that make more money for certain companies, but for
- 44:26everyone. And in the current system, this
- 44:30is very restricted, very restricted.
- 44:35So it is a reminder. You asked me, Haj Ahmed, about
- 44:39the legacy of El Bait Salaam Allah Ali and how to propagate
- 44:44this for the future of the Imam Salaam Allah Ali.
- 44:47We should be reminding our community and the wider world
- 44:52that's the best way to fight this and to build a better
- 44:58world. World is this way, the divinely
- 45:02chosen path. We have tried so many
- 45:08alternative models, including the current model which we
- 45:12thought 100 years ago for our ancestors thought that this is
- 45:16going to fix it. Have a system, draw borders
- 45:19between states, have nation based states, which was probably
- 45:29very, very likely not probably the wrong model to have in many
- 45:32parts of the world. Have a United Nation or a League
- 45:39of Nations before, have a Security Council, have certain,
- 45:42you know, international courts and and so on.
- 45:46We thought we will end wars, we thought we will solve problems,
- 45:50but it hasn't happened and it's the problems are getting worse.
- 45:53Therefore, we need a new world order and we whether this is
- 45:59happening in the near future insha'allah or Masa Mahala in
- 46:04the distant future, we believe firmly that the only model that
- 46:08will work is a model that's divinely chosen by Allah,
- 46:15Subhana Taala, under the leadership of a divinely chosen
- 46:19person who is that weighted Imam to make this a perfect place to
- 46:23live in so Allah. Allah hastens reappearance.
- 46:28It's a beautiful reminder to say it.
- 46:29And it is Speaking of all these different systems.
- 46:32And it just goes to prove that the only system that ultimately
- 46:35will work is the one chosen by Allah, Spano wata Allah.
- 46:38And we ask for that day to be there in Shala and we can win in
- 46:41our lifetimes. And, you know, just speaking
- 46:44about, you know, the legacy of the albeit Ali Musalam and
- 46:47things like that. You know, for us as Shia
- 46:49Muslims, this is something I think we take for granted
- 46:53because we have the best leaders out there who give us the best
- 46:56of examples of how to manage different situations, different
- 47:00environments. What lens do we see, for
- 47:03example, this injustice from? And I think we should do more
- 47:06about this and we should if we now, how can I say Ahmed?
- 47:11If I say as an example, me and Ahmed are discussing something
- 47:14and we're confused. If we look at it from this lens,
- 47:17what would Alib Nabi Talib do? What would Imam Al Hussein do?
- 47:21And that starts and that instance, I think it will change
- 47:24a lot of things and allow us to have their values and to live
- 47:27like them and be like them. You know, we always say we live
- 47:30like Ali and we die like Hussein.
- 47:32What do we really mean it? And just on traits, for example,
- 47:35when I come to and if I can take the conversation more into real,
- 47:39real day-to-day life, say, and I mean, all of this is real, of
- 47:41course on an. Individual base, personal
- 47:43individual, family base, family base and I come.
- 47:46Across stories as a Muslim and Fandelai grew up hearing and
- 47:50listening and reading history and and there are moments, for
- 47:53example, where we see the Anil Bates were engaged engaged with
- 47:57anger. And if for example, we can look
- 47:59at the battlefield with the Imam Ali Ali Hiss Salaam where the
- 48:03enemy spat in his face and he insulted him back and he said I
- 48:08can't strike him now because I am angry with him is no longer
- 48:10for the sake of Allah. And there's different moments
- 48:12where anger is not just restricted to a negative, there
- 48:17is positive in it. If we understand a bit further
- 48:21and what I want to know say it is that sometimes we face
- 48:25situations, it'd be at home, in the workplace, even in the
- 48:30mosque. I've seen people have fights and
- 48:32get angry and the Husseinian in the middle of the Husseinian.
- 48:35There's things that go wrong. As believers, as Manian, as
- 48:39those who we say we are, Shia, as those who we take on us all,
- 48:43Allah sallallahu alaihi, wasallam, as our ultimate guide.
- 48:46How should our clock go hand in hand when we're faced with
- 48:50anchor? What should we do?
- 48:52I sent him saying. No, we have to start at home.
- 48:55I think we're all on the same journey here as brothers and
- 49:01sisters. We should start at home and we
- 49:06should immerse ourselves in the truth.
- 49:12We we are handled it less surrounded by opportunities no
- 49:15matter where we live because of technology and communication and
- 49:21the availability of information in different forms.
- 49:24Audio, visual. We can control our micro
- 49:29environment to immerse ourselves in a in constant reminders.
- 49:36We have that choice. We have that option which did
- 49:39not exist 20 years ago. You're restricted to, you know,
- 49:45printed sources of information. You're restricted to one
- 49:51language. You're restricted to distances
- 49:57right now. You can literally immerse
- 49:59yourself on the truth. Immerse yourself in in these
- 50:03reminders. And if you do that constantly
- 50:08and if you take the obligatory steps towards a loss of Hannah
- 50:12Ta'ala and also the recommended 1, the Mustahab.
- 50:15But, and this is a reminder for myself, immerse yourself.
- 50:24Do all the Wajibat work on the Mustahabad.
- 50:31Prepare for the tests before they come so that you are not
- 50:39caught in the middle of it. Off guard, not prepared.
- 50:46If we want to control our anger, then we should be preparing
- 50:50ourselves. We know that situations will
- 50:54happen before, you know, they happen outside.
- 51:00They do happen quite frequently within the same within the
- 51:03household. OK, yeah, so let's be ready.
- 51:08A believer should have constant reflections upon the previous
- 51:18hour, the previous half day, the previous day.
- 51:21Imam Musalkhadam, our 7th Imam says alayhi Salaam lesa minna
- 51:27mele muharseb nefse, he's not amongst us.
- 51:31He doesn't call himself a Muslim, a follower of Al Bait,
- 51:35the one who does not do this. Mahasaber self accountability
- 51:41every single day and night. And we see that it's the good
- 51:46nature of people to reflect upon every encounter they have.
- 51:52If it's goodness, they are grateful to Allah, Allah.
- 51:55If they did, if they did well and they ask Allah, Allah for
- 51:59more sustenance, more risk of that.
- 52:00And if they didn't do as well, then you know, they make that
- 52:04pledge to inshallah not to do it again.
- 52:08How do we do it? Say, isn't it?
- 52:11We immerse ourselves in reminders.
- 52:13The same device can be a source of distraction with ads and
- 52:19feeds and shorts. But if you if you know how the
- 52:23matrix work, you can delete and unfollow to allow the matrix to
- 52:28continue to bring to you reminders.
- 52:32All you have to do is actively delete and report and
- 52:39unsubscribe and subscribe to the other ones.
- 52:41And then they, yeah, they, they, they talk about this echo
- 52:46chambers. Fine.
- 52:47I want those echo chambers from a religious point of view.
- 52:50I want to read the whole political spectrum.
- 52:52I want to know what's happening in terms of world events.
- 52:54But religiously, I want to be in an echo chamber.
- 52:58I want every single feed and every single AD and every single
- 53:04whatever pops on my screen to be something to remind me of the
- 53:07truth. And I can do that.
- 53:11And if I do that, then on daily basis I will be reminded about
- 53:14the legacy of the prophets, the imams.
- 53:18And one of the main features, traits of their legacy is that
- 53:22they, although they could not change everything around them,
- 53:28even the Prophet of Islam, Sallallahu Alaihi, we know he
- 53:31could not change everything around him.
- 53:33And he, he was the best leader, the most influential human
- 53:37being. There are certain things around
- 53:40him that he could not change. Yet he was sallallahu alaihi at
- 53:50peace. He was composed.
- 53:52He, he continued to lead his personal life and his, his the
- 53:58whole umm and the whole of humanity.
- 54:02So we immerse ourself in the, in the truth.
- 54:04So we are reminded constantly we are reminded of stories of, you
- 54:09know, I, I keep referring to scholars because those scholars,
- 54:14you know, we're, we're living in the same century as them, right?
- 54:17They, some of them have departed.
- 54:19Exactly. So one of the stories I, I, I
- 54:23always remember about controlling your anger and maybe
- 54:28not even have, have no anger whatsoever.
- 54:31It's a story about shades in Humbuckle Sadr.
- 54:37During his time there were quite a few, a few people who did not
- 54:45understand what he was doing. So in Najaf there were people of
- 54:50certain influence who propagated the wrong message about them.
- 54:56And in the 70s, when the Baath Party was in charge, they forced
- 55:03many students out of Najaf, out of the house to spear out.
- 55:11So one of those people who was given the notice to leave Najaf
- 55:19and depart, he was someone who spoke I'll about the said but
- 55:25out of respect to the position of the said, he came to bid him
- 55:29farewell. Now when he visited there are
- 55:33there are other people in the room.
- 55:35So say Humbakar Sadr greeted him and then he walked down with him
- 55:41to the door and as he was leaving say the Sadr cried and
- 55:51the people around him could not believe what they said.
- 55:54Now you know what this person has been saying about you for
- 55:56years. Now he's leaving.
- 55:59OK, Fear Manila, they said after the man left, he looked at him
- 56:04and said this man had a role to play in this society.
- 56:09He was teaching Islam. Yes, he had the wrong view about
- 56:13me, but he was serving a loss of Hana to Al that was the bigger.
- 56:17Picture so I'm not. Even angry I I cry that the
- 56:22Ummah has lost a teacher like him in the houses.
- 56:28So, so isn't it we? We remind ourselves, we practice
- 56:33at home. The more we hear about those
- 56:35stories, we will stop getting angry from the spouse, the
- 56:42mother, the father. So we're not even controlling
- 56:46anger. We, we're not even angry.
- 56:48We're not. Getting angry, Yeah.
- 56:50Because we know that our leaders didn't even get angry with
- 56:53people who wronged them. Now, whatever the problem is
- 56:56between the husband and the wife or me and my parents, it's not
- 57:01going to be Insha'allah, Insha'allah to the same, you
- 57:05know, accusation that that man had against Mohammed Baker
- 57:08Salah. That's true.
- 57:10Yet he cried that he was forced out of said if.
- 57:15Sorry to interrupt you, but on that particular point, my
- 57:19question and probably my final question on this topic is in
- 57:25those moments of anger, I think in the heat of the moment, you
- 57:30can you can really regret doing something if you reflect on it.
- 57:35I may have mentioned this to you.
- 57:36I don't know if I've mentioned Tuesday the podcast or not.
- 57:40I had an incident a few months ago.
- 57:42I have it was a road raging incident.
- 57:46My I'll I'll be very honest, like I'm generally quite a calm
- 57:49guy. I don't get angry quite often.
- 57:52Hopefully say Ali would agree. I had a moment a few a few weeks
- 57:56ago. I was driving and it was a 2
- 57:58lane Rd. a car tried to enter my lane to overtake a bus.
- 58:03So I was confused. I was like why would you do the
- 58:05horning And I was like shouting in my wheel.
- 58:08I was caused nearly caused an accident.
- 58:11And anyway it turned out I knew the driver.
- 58:14So when I drove past him, not only I knew him, he was a
- 58:17friend. Not only he's a friend, he's a
- 58:19scholar in the community and someone who I have a close
- 58:24relationship with. So it caused a lot of
- 58:26embarrassment for me and I think for him as well.
- 58:29Long story short, I reflected, I saw his apology and after
- 58:35seeking that apology from him, we discussed it and Al
- 58:39Hamdallah, like we sorted it out and it helped.
- 58:42I think me for my development. And you know, I speak to him
- 58:46somewhat regularly until now, but I think in the heat of the
- 58:51moment, you you go through these fine tuning teething instances
- 58:56for that purpose of growth. How about in the long run?
- 58:59So for example, if I have, as you've mentioned, spousal
- 59:03issues, parental and child based issues with friends, with
- 59:07colleagues, with bosses or employees, but matters of
- 59:12absolute resentment. So for example, I'm angry that
- 59:15you had, for example, opportunities I couldn't get.
- 59:21I'm angry that you've denied me of liberties that I deserved.
- 59:25I'm angry that you neglected me. Or, you know, things which are
- 59:30not occasional or based on an instance, but rather things
- 59:34which are, you know, a series of varied issues over the course of
- 59:38years when someone has built up frustration and resentment and
- 59:42anger. And to be really honest, I think
- 59:44when you get to that level for for a lot of people, it becomes
- 59:47apathy and you lose all interest.
- 59:51So for example, you lose your romance, you lose interest in
- 59:55your spouse with parents and children, you may lose the
- 59:59desire for a meaningful connection.
- 1:00:02And that's something I myself have seen kind of in community
- 1:00:06affairs and also. We've heard about in terms of
- 1:00:09people getting in touch with the podcast and sharing their
- 1:00:12stories a lot on on the kind of personal messages.
- 1:00:16I think a last message or question for me rather is for
- 1:00:19people who struggle with deep rooted.
- 1:00:21Maybe they're not bad people, but they feel wronged by someone
- 1:00:26over the course of years, of course, in a similar way to of
- 1:00:29course, Shahida Sada. But maybe as you said, not on a
- 1:00:33on a as grave an issue, but how do we deal with kind of dealing
- 1:00:37with issues? The ultimate solution is to have
- 1:00:40a Lhasa Hana Taala present in your life in your interaction
- 1:00:48with that person, no matter who that person is, parent, spouse,
- 1:00:53a colleague, which brings you back to the first thing I
- 1:00:57mentioned when we started God centric lens.
- 1:01:03That is the ultimate solution. The ultimate solution is to see
- 1:01:06that even me and my spouse, our relationship Allah Subhanahu
- 1:01:14Ta'ala is there. We are bombarded by messages to
- 1:01:23distract us from this into a self centric model of I exist,
- 1:01:26my life revolves around me. Hence I've suffered so much with
- 1:01:31that person. I can't take it anymore.
- 1:01:35And I'm very pleased that the audience is sharing their
- 1:01:39problems and issues with with after Maghreb so that we can
- 1:01:45address them. The ultimate solution is to have
- 1:01:48Allah present to have you know how to make you know.
- 1:01:51We know to have Vikar to have Ebad the you have to do the
- 1:01:57wajibat, you have to do as much as you can of the mustahabat.
- 1:02:01You have to have constant visual and auditory reminders about
- 1:02:07these stories and so on so that Allah is always there.
- 1:02:10When Allah is always there, then you see the world in a very
- 1:02:14different way. Allah.
- 1:02:18I know people always think that I can end this between me and my
- 1:02:23colleague at work because I could find another job or I can
- 1:02:27transfer to a different department.
- 1:02:29And unfortunately, some people are even thinking of that option
- 1:02:35within their family life, saying I'm married to this person,
- 1:02:41there's a way out. I would like to remind people
- 1:02:45that you can't solve the problem by running away from it because
- 1:02:54that person could be someone that you cannot detach from.
- 1:02:57Example your mother, your father.
- 1:03:02If you could end your relationship with your spouse,
- 1:03:04Las Amahallah would divorce because you're struggling, then
- 1:03:08how are you going to end a relationship with your mother or
- 1:03:10with your sibling? Possible.
- 1:03:15So. And we know that if you avoid
- 1:03:18them, then this will and Islamically it will have Yeah,
- 1:03:24exactly. There were consequences.
- 1:03:29So back to the solution. Solution is Allah has to be
- 1:03:32there all the time. If Allah is there all the time,
- 1:03:35that means Allah is with me. He has designed my life so that
- 1:03:39I meet this person at work. This person is my mother, this
- 1:03:44person is my son, this person is my sibling.
- 1:03:48Therefore, he will empower me with the ability to endure this.
- 1:03:55That's a theological viewing. Also, you have to develop
- 1:03:59skills. So to the audience, you have to
- 1:04:01do, you have to understand there are different personality types.
- 1:04:06You have to develop the skills to deal with people.
- 1:04:10You have to have these skills that you develop.
- 1:04:12You have to learn. Yeah.
- 1:04:15You read about them, you attend classes, you attend training.
- 1:04:21These things help. It helps you if you know that
- 1:04:24certain people in certain scenarios behave differently.
- 1:04:30It helps you to understand that certain people, you can't talk
- 1:04:34over them. You have to say something and
- 1:04:36then you stop to allow them to process and then speak back to
- 1:04:39you. You have to understand that
- 1:04:42people perceive love and emotion in a different way.
- 1:04:48There's more than one way of expressing respect and love to
- 1:04:53your sibling, your parents, and your spouse.
- 1:04:57These skills are important. You can find them across the the
- 1:05:04legacy of the prophets and debate and the scholars.
- 1:05:08But you can also find them systematically written in books
- 1:05:11and in in in courses to do with emotional intelligence, to do
- 1:05:17with with self development and so on.
- 1:05:19So be prepared for the test before it comes.
- 1:05:27Have a last part always there. Zoom out, look at the ultimate
- 1:05:33end. And the ultimate end is what
- 1:05:35Sutarad describes that the believers shall The believers
- 1:05:41shall enter heaven as extended families.
- 1:05:46So dealing with a a difficult colleague at work is is a minor
- 1:05:49problem compared to the challenge of having a a problem
- 1:05:54within the family of the extended family.
- 1:05:56The Quran describes the believers entering heaven as
- 1:05:59extended families, not just couples.
- 1:06:03So Tara Chapter 13 Auld Bulamsha regime.
- 1:06:09Jannatto Adnan yet khuluna Oman Salaham in abah ehim Ezwaji him
- 1:06:15with oriyati, the gardens of Eden, the final abode.
- 1:06:22They shall enter, enter them, and with them the righteous
- 1:06:26amongst their ancestors, their spouses and their offspring.
- 1:06:36So no matter what the problem is between you and your, any of
- 1:06:40these people around you, it should not affect the final
- 1:06:46destination. We want to get there together.
- 1:06:49We will get there together with Sabar.
- 1:06:52And Sabar is not a negative thing.
- 1:06:53Sabar is endurance. You have to endure it.
- 1:06:57It's difficult the first time, second time, third time, then
- 1:07:02you develop this meleke, this ability to not even get angry
- 1:07:08with the child, the spouse, the mother, so that you are at peace
- 1:07:14and show Allah. Show Allah.
- 1:07:16Amazing. Amazing.
- 1:07:17Saying that, these are like life acts.
- 1:07:19Yeah, honestly, what? Did I tell you everyone's going
- 1:07:22to implement? In our lives and and it's if I
- 1:07:26can just mention maybe in the last few words from me is that
- 1:07:29as you're saying, all of the same.
- 1:07:30I'm thinking about times I've been angry and things like that.
- 1:07:33And it's it's always, it comes back to our last span of last.
- 1:07:37Like I sometimes I've had moments where I've reached, you
- 1:07:41know, of our patience and. Maybe.
- 1:07:44Someone's bothered me or whatever is and I just simple
- 1:07:47few words suffer a lot and just that as the far it calms you
- 1:07:51down or for example, you know to the levels had a lot my daughter
- 1:07:56hyphen the other day she knows me too well.
- 1:07:59Something happened. We were, was it?
- 1:08:02Yeah, it was, I think it was Tesco.
- 1:08:04It was one of the supermarkets. I was getting the trolley, you
- 1:08:09know, for, to get the shopping, something very normal day-to-day
- 1:08:12life with you every week. And I was going to the trolley
- 1:08:14and someone just ran to the trolley and like screwed me,
- 1:08:17literally screwed me. And then I was so angry.
- 1:08:22And then after like 5-6 what did the L?
- 1:08:25UASA, she was she. Was she?
- 1:08:27She said what I was about to say.
- 1:08:29Well. I was a very one of one of the
- 1:08:38ways to deal with anger is to be so humble with your spouse and
- 1:08:42with your children is to ask them to remind you and I've
- 1:08:48recently I've done this with my children.
- 1:08:51I said, Baba, if you see me doing something wrong, tell me,
- 1:08:56yeah. That's beautiful.
- 1:08:58It's like it's a collective family.
- 1:08:59This. Humility that we're on this
- 1:09:01together. I'm not your father telling you
- 1:09:02I'm I'm a follower like yourself.
- 1:09:04I follow the prophet of Islam, Salah.
- 1:09:06I follow a little bait like you. I'm older than you but we're on
- 1:09:10the same journey. If you see me getting angry for
- 1:09:14the wrong reasons or about to say the wrong thing, remind me,
- 1:09:18tell me, advise me. Inshallah.
- 1:09:19This is a son of humility that we can all implement to help us
- 1:09:26to endure this together in Charlotte.
- 1:09:27Thank you. So much, I think these are all
- 1:09:30gems, I said. I decided.
- 1:09:32And I think we're, while we live in we're, we're so we're so
- 1:09:35thirsty and impatient. You know, we're thirsty for, for
- 1:09:40satisfaction and we're, we're always trying to, to what's the
- 1:09:44word I'm looking for? Satiate our desire for
- 1:09:47entertainment and for for quick kind of stimulation
- 1:09:51gratification. Gratification.
- 1:09:53And therefore, as a result, we lose patience faster and we we
- 1:09:58tend to kind of fall into these things.
- 1:10:00And it could be applied to anything.
- 1:10:02And of course, in today's episode, we've covered
- 1:10:04everything from anger that we feel on a global level.
- 1:10:07We talked about Alaspon to Allah's, his, his, his
- 1:10:12attributes and kind of how we understand things from a
- 1:10:16theological level and then also obviously on an internalised
- 1:10:19level as well. So I think there's a lot of
- 1:10:21lessons for us to bear in mind, Inshallah.
- 1:10:24Say, any last words from you, any recommendations, for
- 1:10:26example, for reading or research or where perhaps people can, are
- 1:10:30people able to get in touch with you?
- 1:10:32Would you welcome that as well, Sharla?
- 1:10:34Khadmet Kamchallah Through this podcast we can interact with the
- 1:10:37audience and hear their feedback and which their experiences and
- 1:10:43their feedback is is a big learning for us.
- 1:10:47The final word I say is that we should all inshallah adhere to
- 1:10:51the path of Allah. Allah the prophet has left us 2
- 1:10:54weighty things Al Quran al bait alim Salam.
- 1:10:59It is doable to have those reminders on daily basis.
- 1:11:04Allah Muhammad, al mahiya Muhammad Ali Muhammad.
- 1:11:07Grant me the life of Muhammad al Muhammad Omammaty, my end, my
- 1:11:14departure from this world to be like the Prophet and his holy
- 1:11:18household. Accessing these reminders is the
- 1:11:23only way to saturate our micro environment, to immerse ourself
- 1:11:28in the truth so that we can endure this difficult journey
- 1:11:32towards. Inshallah the final above to
- 1:11:35towards perfection towards Allah Spanatar.
- 1:11:37So it's not to. Say that shook my love, unless
- 1:11:39you protect you and always give you the top fear alike the fear.
- 1:11:42Come Jenny, and show us all to. Benefit from your germs and
- 1:11:45words of wisdom and shot Allah and brothers and sisters.
- 1:11:47For those of you at home, if you know someone who's angry, share
- 1:11:50this episode with them so inshallah they can calm.
- 1:11:55The you're angry. As I said before, before you
- 1:11:57punch me in the face, I have a YouTube link.
- 1:12:00Yeah, and we'll. See you again next week.
- 1:12:04Same time was Salaam Alaikum.
