- 0:00The program was expanded to include coverage for all illegal
- 0:04immigrants who might financially qualify.
- 0:07That includes taxpayers funded gender treatments as well.
- 0:12Well, Harris, California spends about $9 billion on illegal
- 0:15immigrant healthcare. I don't agree with giving
- 0:18undocumented or illegal people healthcare.
- 0:22I think if your policy is to give them healthcare, I don't
- 0:25think gender affirming care being included in that.
- 0:28Is that wild? It's just also, it's like the
- 0:30perfect caricature of that's actually real if you wanted to
- 0:34just like make people resent California progressives.
- 0:39Hey guys, welcome back to NORMAL GAZE where we take on insanity.
- 0:42I'm Brad Palumbo here with Clarkson Lawson.
- 0:44What's up guys, make sure you subscribe to the channel because
- 0:47nobody is subscribed. Yeah, people watch the videos
- 0:50but don't subscribe have. A lot of viewers.
- 0:53That don't watch that are not subscribed.
- 0:54It's depressing. I won't.
- 0:56Never. Yes, you will, and you'll do it
- 0:59right now. Anyway, did you know that if you
- 1:02move to the state of California and you become an illegal
- 1:05immigrant, you should get free breast implants and
- 1:08vaginoplasty? Hell yeah.
- 1:10Hell yeah. But you actually couldn't get
- 1:13any of your for free. I know I couldn't get TRT I.
- 1:16Couldn't get that. Well, they give free healthcare
- 1:21to It's not. Free.
- 1:24It's it's in tax. Universal health care, taxpayer
- 1:28funded, whatever, same thing. But they give it to illegal
- 1:30immigrants as well. Not just immigrants even got it.
- 1:34And it covers gender affirming care.
- 1:36So there's this new expose that was dropped by the Manhattan
- 1:38Institute where they interviewed transgender women.
- 1:41Illegal immigrants were just like camera.
- 1:43Like yeah, I got my Tatas. So they're travelling to
- 1:46California. No, I think it's more like they
- 1:48came to California anyway. I don't think they came there
- 1:50specifically for the free breast, but it's still a
- 1:54ridiculous story. And that the best part about it
- 1:57is it started in like conservative think tank world
- 1:59and right wing media. But then California's, like,
- 2:01governor's office responded and they admitted it's they're like,
- 2:05yeah, that's basically true. Well, I mean, I would see why it
- 2:08would be true because if you're going to offer healthcare to
- 2:11people who are illegally there or undocumented, I mean, I do
- 2:16think that that is part of healthcare.
- 2:20I don't know. I don't.
- 2:22Think that somebody with gender dysphoria?
- 2:24I think it's I don't think it's evidence based healthcare now
- 2:27top surgery for adults. I think it's essentially
- 2:30cosmetic and the idea that you could have them make your
- 2:33neighbors all pay for it. But like another a woman who
- 2:35hates her body and wants breast implants can't get it.
- 2:38But a trans woman who has? Well, I don't think that's
- 2:41necessary. I think that's a flaw, but like
- 2:45a woman who had a double mastectomy, let's say, I think
- 2:47should be able to get breast implants too, and that would be
- 2:51cosmetic. That no, that would be like
- 2:53medical. It's not necessary, but it's
- 2:55cosmetic because but it causes I don't.
- 2:56Know it would be billed as cosmetic though, or if it would
- 2:59be billed as medically necessary.
- 3:01But the point is that you can't just get purely cosmetic plastic
- 3:04surgery covered by your Medicaid, but you can get it for
- 3:08like there's not I'm sorry. Also there's it's not like
- 3:11they're only giving this to people with strict diagnosis of.
- 3:13Yeah. I mean, there's a lot that goes
- 3:15that goes. Wrong and I don't.
- 3:17The world of gender dysphoria and the affirmation and the
- 3:20endless affirmation, there's, there's a lot that's wrong with
- 3:22it. I just don't.
- 3:23I just think it's diabolical that people who are not even
- 3:26entitled to be in the country are getting advanced surgeries
- 3:31on the taxpayer dime. Like, that seems to me to be
- 3:34something that's designed to drive people crazy.
- 3:37But let's watch the clip, and then we can talk about it more.
- 3:39This is from Fox News. But again, the governor's office
- 3:41basically was like, yeah, that's real.
- 3:45So it's not even really in dispute.
- 3:46Let's watch the clip. There's some California
- 3:48Democrats are turning against their own governor, Gavin
- 3:52Newsom, over the state's medical insurance program for the poor.
- 3:56That program we're looking at from 2024 to 2025, the program
- 4:02was expanded to include coverage for all illegal immigrants who
- 4:07might financially qualify. That includes taxpayers funded
- 4:12gender treatments as well. And here's one illegal alien who
- 4:15got those treatments. I live in a shelter.
- 4:19Definitely Some are migrants or undocumented.
- 4:22I don't. I feel safe.
- 4:27So medical. You got the breast implants?
- 4:29Yes. Wow.
- 4:31Taxpayer funded. So here in California, they gave
- 4:34you the the breast implants here.
- 4:37Yes. Free.
- 4:39Yeah. And WHO column has this to say.
- 4:42And a state projecting ongoing multibillion dollar deficits
- 4:46prioritizing irreversible medical procedures for non
- 4:49citizens who enter the US illegally diverts finite
- 4:53resources from core governmental functions.
- 4:56It's easy to say that California's priorities are
- 4:59simply misplaced. Senior national correspondent
- 5:02William Lajeunesse on this in Los Angeles.
- 5:04William. Well, Harris, California spends
- 5:07about $9 billion on illegal immigrant healthcare.
- 5:11Some Sacramento. That's a lot of money.
- 5:12Opposing to earmark 25,000,000 for gender affirming care or sex
- 5:17change treatment for the entire Medicaid population here about
- 5:2115,000,000 people. It's known here as medical.
- 5:24So this is an issue because Governor Newsom expanded medical
- 5:27to include all qualified illegal immigrants.
- 5:30That includes those who are transgender.
- 5:32Meaning, legal or not, they can receive taxpayer hormone
- 5:36treatments, breast implants and other sex change surgeries.
- 5:41And that's what the Manhattan Institute found in this report.
- 5:44Individuals on the streets of San Francisco claiming to be
- 5:47from Honduras or and transgender.
- 5:50This woman, Laika, told the reporter that she is here
- 5:52illegally and receiving cross gender treatment provided by the
- 5:56state. They're not really concerned
- 5:59about taking resources from Americans.
- 6:06Because they have seen that they received.
- 6:08More help. Another immigrant, Jacqueline,
- 6:12from Mexico, claims to have received breast implants paid
- 6:16for by the state and is waiting to have his penis removed.
- 6:21They gave you the the breast implant here?
- 6:24Yes. Free.
- 6:26Yeah. Wow.
- 6:27Did you do bottom 2 bottom surgery?
- 6:29I'm waiting for that one. Wow.
- 6:31You're waiting for bottom surgery.
- 6:32OK, are you happy with the result?
- 6:36So in a statement to Fox, California's health department
- 6:38says the City Journal Manhattan issued a report.
- 6:41Story includes significant factual errors and
- 6:44mischaracterizes both medical eligibility and covered
- 6:47benefits. It suggests that the state
- 6:50broadly provides gender affirming surgeries to specific
- 6:53populations without limitation, which is false.
- 6:56Medical is a needs based program with strict eligibility
- 7:01requirements. So California spends about
- 7:0315,000,000 annually already on gender affirming care.
- 7:08But that's for those enrolled in so-called Obamacare.
- 7:11Those Democrats proposing the 26,000,000 would specifically go
- 7:15to medical transgender patients. Currently, the state doesn't
- 7:19publish a line item for sex change treatments.
- 7:22Wonder why they don't do? That and surgeries for that
- 7:26population. Bottom line, the state doesn't
- 7:28deny Harris that it pays for sex change surgeries for illegal
- 7:33immigrants, just not to the scale suggested.
- 7:35As for the federal money here, that can't be used on illegal
- 7:38immigrant healthcare. But the feds say the state has
- 7:41done so. They're trying to claw that
- 7:42back. The state says they haven't.
- 7:44I want to know what the eligibility requirements are.
- 7:46For they mean income. You mean income?
- 7:49Based. Yeah.
- 7:49So what they're saying, it's not like residency based on how long
- 7:52you've been here or anything like that or applying for asylum
- 7:56or. Well, no, because the point if
- 7:58you are are applying for asylum, you then you wouldn't be
- 8:02categorized and asylum seeker is not categorized as illegal
- 8:06immigrants. So what when they say they're
- 8:08strict eligibility requirements and it's not broad based, what
- 8:11they mean is that you have to be like low income and not have
- 8:14resource like the Medicaid qualifications in California is
- 8:17what they're talking about there.
- 8:19But I, I just like, I, I actually think it's a more
- 8:22interesting conversation and it's a little more nuanced than
- 8:24just like what you see is the standard conservative take of
- 8:27illegal aliens should never get a dime for Medicaid because part
- 8:31of like when, when there's a dispute over federally are
- 8:34illegal aliens getting Medicaid part of it's Medicaid payments
- 8:37for emergency rooms. And I'm sorry, but like, no
- 8:41human should show up at the emergency room.
- 8:43And be denied bleeding. Out and deny whether they're
- 8:46illegal immigrant or not. And who's going to pay the the
- 8:47doctors in the house? Right now it's Medicaid.
- 8:49Exactly. And so it's a necessary.
- 8:52Function Some some Republicans are like, no, cut that.
- 8:55And that's, to me, that's kind of like the role of government
- 8:59is to cover those types of gaps. Bare minimum safety now, but
- 9:03that's different from just like full service health insurance
- 9:07paid for by your neighbors in a country you're literally
- 9:10illegally present in. I don't agree with giving
- 9:13undocumented or illegal people healthcare, but I think if your
- 9:19policy is to give them healthcare, I don't think gender
- 9:24affirming care being included in that.
- 9:25Is that wild? Oh, I kind of do, because I
- 9:28don't. Really, because I don't think
- 9:29gender affirming care being in healthcare in general is that
- 9:31wild. I think there should be more,
- 9:34less. There's a lot wrong with the
- 9:36diagnosis process and, and the actual ideology that's behind it
- 9:39and it not actually like making sense and and what's changed
- 9:42about it. But I don't think that gender
- 9:46affirming care for the right people should be out of pocket.
- 9:50I don't. Oh, I, I basically do.
- 9:53Yeah, I. I that's where we where we
- 9:55disagree, yeah. I mean, I just am not.
- 9:58I don't really think it's met the kind of evidentiary
- 10:01standard. And even way.
- 10:03In terms of like. Like the studies?
- 10:05And research that you need to have an actual medical
- 10:09treatment. There's really very low quality
- 10:11data even on like the the amount of data there is on whether a
- 10:15vaginoplasty positively impacts long term mental health for
- 10:19someone with gender dysphoria is very.
- 10:21Tiny. OK but what about hormone
- 10:23replay? Like there's studies on
- 10:25different parts of gender from and care.
- 10:27So I don't think saying all gender from and care shouldn't
- 10:29be paid for is fair because I'm sure that maybe HRT might have
- 10:33more of a success rate than maybe a vaginoplasty because
- 10:36those are very two different. But the HRT is pretty
- 10:38inexpensive to pay out for out of pocket.
- 10:41Sure, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be covered by
- 10:43insurance. I guess you did.
- 10:44The question would be whether it's medically necessary and
- 10:47evidence based and I guess I could maybe be convinced that it
- 10:51could I you'd have. I just don't.
- 10:53I think gender form and care is a little complex.
- 10:55And yeah, a vaginoplasty, those have very low success rates.
- 10:59I know that for a. That's why that should like.
- 11:01But HRT surgery. I think the problem is you
- 11:04should probably draw a distinction between surgeries
- 11:07and HRT. If it if we're going to go
- 11:08evidence based, then we have to go evidence based procedure by
- 11:11procedure and medication by medication, not specifically
- 11:16things that affect one population.
- 11:18I agree but but it's what I'm saying.
- 11:20I think it might make sense to cover the HRT but not the
- 11:23surgeries. OK.
- 11:25But regardless, I don't think illegal immigrants.
- 11:28Should be. I don't think they should be
- 11:29getting and. It's just also, it's like the
- 11:32perfect caricature of that's actually real if you wanted to
- 11:37just like make people resent California progressives, illegal
- 11:43immigrants. And they have trans people.
- 11:44All you have to do is stop trans on it and it's like.
- 11:47Every. Box.
- 11:48But it's real. It's not a fake story.
- 11:51And that's the thing. It's like I would almost argue
- 11:54that it would be better for the trans community to not give
- 11:57these people surgeries than to give those surgeries because
- 12:01it's such APR nightmare. People literally are struggling
- 12:03to feed their kids. They're like my tax dollars are
- 12:05going to. Why do you?
- 12:06It's also just like the my biggest issue is not that I'm
- 12:10against government programs, it's that I hate deficits.
- 12:16Well, they have a huge they mention.
- 12:17That and they have a huge. Deficit.
- 12:19The thing is, is if if Florida wanted to pay for illegal
- 12:23immigrants healthcare, given that we're in a budget surplus,
- 12:27I wouldn't be against it. If the state voted for it, I
- 12:30wouldn't. I would, I'd say.
- 12:31If if we could afford it and and it would I.
- 12:34Would reduce taxes with the surplus then.
- 12:36Maybe. But I'm just saying like if
- 12:38you're in a surplus and it's not adding to your deficit if a
- 12:41state, I'm more sympathetic to a state doing something that's a
- 12:45little bit weird. Well, the difference is also is
- 12:47that California is not allowed to run an actual deficit.
- 12:49So they'll have to cut somewhere else or raise taxes.
- 12:52Like state governments can't run, They can't actually borrow
- 12:55money like the federal government.
- 12:57So it will it's literally going to cost something else.
- 13:00So it's makes it even more diabolical.
- 13:03So the other story that's like similar to this that I saw is
- 13:07from Boston where the mayor there, it's like it's always an
- 13:11NGO, right, that they funnel these programs through.
- 13:15So this is the Daily Mail. We love the Daily Mail.
- 13:19Do we? I don't know what's.
- 13:20What is this like a tabloid? Oh, is it like a left or right?
- 13:25It's British. Oh, oh, I know which one.
- 13:27The blue one. The blue one.
- 13:28Yeah, yeah, woke Boston Mayor hands out $500 haircut and
- 13:31massage vouchers to migrants despite city's budget plunging
- 13:35$50 million in red. Wait, $500 haircut?
- 13:39Well, they're vouchers that they can use to get here.
- 13:41I'll just read more details. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is
- 13:44handing out $500 vouchers to migrants so they can enjoy
- 13:47haircuts, massages and other self-care benefits despite the
- 13:50city's budget plunging. Nearly 50 million short
- 13:53applicants who are, quote, low income, isolated queer and trans
- 13:57migrants, asylum seekers and refugees are prioritized for the
- 14:01Wellness allowance. The initiative, called Belonging
- 14:05Matters, was created by Out Newcomers, A nonprofit that
- 14:08advocates for LGBTQ migrants in Boston alongside the Mayor's
- 14:11Office for Immigrant Advancement.
- 14:13Applicants get 250 to $500 toward quote, non clinical care
- 14:18completely funded by the city agency, which is run by the
- 14:21Democrats administration. They can participate in
- 14:24activities like meditation, yoga, peer support, creative
- 14:27healing, acupuncture, and gym memberships.
- 14:30Is creative healing. What is creative healing?
- 14:34The show Watch the show and you will be creatively healed by our
- 14:39commentary. It comes as the city faces a $48
- 14:42million deficit and teachers are faced with possible staffing
- 14:45cuts due to a $53 million shortfall for Boston Public
- 14:49Schools. Your reaction.
- 14:54If I go to Boston and claim that I'm escaping Florida as a gay
- 14:58man, I could. Get.
- 15:00I could get creative. What is it called?
- 15:02Creative healing. Creative healing done.
- 15:04Yeah. What is?
- 15:05What is creative healing? For a gay.
- 15:07Person getting your back blown out on grinder like I don't
- 15:11understand what are these queer what is.
- 15:13It says creative healing is a way to feel better by doing
- 15:16things you love, like drawing, writing, dancing, cooking,
- 15:19playing music or even yoga and. What do gay people love?
- 15:24This SO grinder is creative. So getting your backblown out on
- 15:26Grinder is creative feeling. You know what?
- 15:28I actually agree with that. Well, that shouldn't cost money.
- 15:31If that's costing money, something's gone wrong.
- 15:33And illegal. You're right, you should get
- 15:34paid for it. Oh my God, what?
- 15:37That was not what I was saying. So this, this organization out
- 15:41Newcomers was founded by Sal Khan, a queer activist and drag
- 15:45performer who is also the organization's executive
- 15:48director. The 33 year old name The 33 year
- 15:51old, whose drag queen name is Miss Chili Masala, also refers
- 15:56to himself as quote Angry Brown Queer, according to his
- 15:59Instagram. Chili masala?
- 16:01Is it Indian? Maybe.
- 16:03Like chicken masala. I bet he's never mind.
- 16:06What? No.
- 16:07Say what you were going to say you're about to say.
- 16:09I bet he's stanky, weren't you? Well, because chicken.
- 16:12So offensive. Chicken masala stinks Fluxon.
- 16:14Is racist as. OK, no, I just am cracking a
- 16:18joke. You crack a lot of brown men.
- 16:20So that I I wasn't saying that Indian stink, I was saying that
- 16:23chicken masala stinks and Brad gets it all the time and his
- 16:27breath is hot. I love me some Indians, he.
- 16:31Talks to this podcast. Thank God we have this space
- 16:33between us. Now we're farther apart.
- 16:35Chicken chicken tikka masala. I'm like they close.
- 16:38To my favorite chicken tiki masala place here, thank God.
- 16:42Thank God. No, I was sad.
- 16:44I was actually devastated. I actually don't smell your
- 16:47breath. I don't want you to internalize
- 16:48that and go home and think that I'm smelling your breath when we
- 16:50do. This.
- 16:50I don't care about that so. Yes, Brad does.
- 16:54He would text me and be like, does my breath actually smell?
- 16:56I'll be like, no, it's fine, It's just a bit.
- 16:59But chicken, whatever it's called, stinks.
- 17:01Yeah, and Curry. I'm thinking that is amazing.
- 17:04Curry smells like one time when I read.
- 17:07A true tide that's doing. That no, this is I actually have
- 17:10a memory that ingrained racism into me and I want to share it
- 17:12as a young boy excuse me so when I was young, my dad took me to
- 17:18Blue Man Group with a couple of my dad was in the church band.
- 17:21So we were some other guys in the church band were going to
- 17:24come with us and we were all in a van going to see Blue Man
- 17:28Group. I hated it because there's no
- 17:31lyrics. I like to Britney Spears,
- 17:33whatever. Your dad was so disappointed.
- 17:35Well, he was. My dad was a drummer, A drummer
- 17:38and a Surfers and they drum a lot.
- 17:40So we had an Indian guy in in named, I think it was Garth, in
- 17:46the church and he came with us. Unfortunately, his customs came
- 17:51with him and he brought Curry. I love that.
- 17:54That sounds great to me. Sounds great in theory, but when
- 17:57you leave it in the van during Blue Man Group and it's like the
- 18:02stinkiest Curry that you could get.
- 18:07The whole car. I wanted to vomit on the way
- 18:09home. And my dad, he thinks he's so
- 18:12funny, made so many racist jokes.
- 18:13But at that point my nostrils were so offended that it was
- 18:17very hard for me to look at him as my equal.
- 18:21But I don't necessarily adhere to those principles and I don't
- 18:27blame all Indian people for their Curry.
- 18:30Habits Indians are my favorite. I think and no, me too, because
- 18:34they make so much money and and they contribute to the economy
- 18:37they have. The food is good as long as you
- 18:39just plug your nose. Well, also we should be clear
- 18:41that like my experience is with Indian nationals who come to
- 18:44America which are are like very specific subset of the Indian
- 18:48population. We're this is all a bit we also
- 18:51need to be. Clear No, it's not for me kind
- 18:53of a bit are my favorite minorities and I.
- 18:54Stayed on that. I'm not actually racist, but I
- 18:58just thought I would share that function.
- 18:59Cluck with no context. I really hate the smell of Curry
- 19:02now. It's like ingrained in me that.
- 19:04Indian food Curry when we got we literally got Indian food here
- 19:08once. I didn't eat that, remember?
- 19:11You left it. You left the mess all over my
- 19:12counter. I didn't get that.
- 19:14I cleaned it up after you. Oh.
- 19:17But no, I didn't get Curry. You didn't.
- 19:20No. What did you eat?
- 19:21You didn't eat anything. You shouldn't know.
- 19:23You're on your way. True side no.
- 19:25So I'm. Like worried he's not eating.
- 19:27Enough. I'm no, I I think I'm going to
- 19:28order Burger King after this. Or McDonald's.
- 19:31And what, 2 bites and a double? Quarter Pounder No, I I don't
- 19:36feel any way towards Indians. It's just their food because of
- 19:38that childhood memory. It's it like really
- 19:40repetitiously? Yeah.
- 19:42Oh, good. That's normal.
- 19:43I love you Indians. Oh, no, no.
- 19:49That's incredibly offensive. Imitation is the sincerest form
- 19:54of flowering. Carpenter didn't think so.
- 19:58That's Arab. Yeah, Americans.
- 20:04All right guys, let us know what you think of Clarkson's racism
