- 0:25on all social media platforms because I upload every single
- 0:27day. OK, so school.
- 0:29Oh my goodness. School was such a difficult one
- 0:31for me. So I I've been through school
- 0:33and and in college and in university and so because of
- 0:36that I was able to create what I think are essential items,
- 0:40checklists for that. If you want to have successful
- 0:42time at school or in an educational system, this is for
- 0:45you. So buckle up guys, we'll go
- 0:46through the list right now. Just before that I want to say a
- 0:49big thanks to Brillia, which is this week's sponsor for this
- 0:52video earlier. A homeopathic, non prescription
- 0:55based medication which is completely cool because it's way
- 0:57more natural than some of the other stuff I've taken and it's
- 1:00non addictive. There's no nasties in it.
- 1:02It's cool for helping increase increase clarity, improve
- 1:06concentration and reduce anxiety, restlessness, stress
- 1:10and irritability and impulsivity.
- 1:11Which is you know for me for godsend.
- 1:13So if you want to check out Brilliant yourself, I have a
- 1:15discount code for 15% off if you use the code SP15 link is in the
- 1:20description down below. But FYI guys if you are thinking
- 1:23about trying it, just always consult with your doctor first
- 1:25before trying anything, even if it is more natural.
- 1:28OK, so the first thing I want to say is that you have to have a
- 1:30tablet. Now I'm not worried about tablet
- 1:32as in like you know something a pill or something.
- 1:34I don't know about tablet as in an iPad or a Samsung tablet or
- 1:38Android tablet. What I found most interesting is
- 1:41that when I'm attending lectures or when I'm telling anything in
- 1:43school, if I had my iPad with me, I could actually turn on the
- 1:47record button to record the audio of the actual class.
- 1:50So I could go back home and listen over something that I may
- 1:52not have got perfectly right while sitting in the class.
- 1:54Because there's a thing called Alexa Thymia which causes for a
- 1:57lot of delay in understanding what's actually going on in that
- 1:59moment in time. But to cut a Long story short
- 2:02using the recording was so easy to can just listen back to when
- 2:05I'm going over my revision notes.
- 2:06Something else that I found a super interesting about having
- 2:09the tablet with me because there was something important on the
- 2:12whiteboard or a slideshow that I could take my camera app and
- 2:15just take a picture, a snapshot of that and I have that then
- 2:17saved to my notes. Not to mention you can always
- 2:20use talk to type apps on stuff like the.
- 2:24I know that Apple do it where you talk to it and it will
- 2:26automatically type out what you're saying in your notes
- 2:28which is really good for people who have an issue with typing or
- 2:30writing really fast. I found this super beneficial.
- 2:33So that is like literally #1. The second thing I'd say is
- 2:37having a sensory toolbox with you.
- 2:38Now I don't mean having anything crazy, but a few fidget gadgets
- 2:41or maybe even just like a pair of noise counseling headphones
- 2:44and sunglasses. Something that is going to help
- 2:47you overcome sensory stimulated issues of potential issues in a
- 2:53setting of educational environment could be the lighter
- 2:55too bright. It could be that there's too
- 2:56much noise going on or maybe each one of like self soothe
- 2:59with like a stem toy. Having something like that is
- 3:02super beneficial and I highly recommend it.
- 3:04OK, so #3 is a buddy system. Now this is really interesting.
- 3:08You don't have to be best friends with a person, but you
- 3:10need to make a buddy or have the school or the educational body
- 3:13team you up with somebody who knows the ropes or who can look
- 3:16after you. If you have any issues that on
- 3:18the day-to-day that it's in your class and you're spending pretty
- 3:20much every day with you. I found this super beneficial
- 3:23mind. A buddy called Tom who I used to
- 3:25travel in with. And if I had any issues with
- 3:27stuff like that, Tom would help me, You know, we'd put our heads
- 3:29together and sort it out. This was amazing and helped me
- 3:31feel less alone. Also, it was really good because
- 3:33I did build a friendship with Tom.
- 3:35Not all the time that this is going to happen that you have a
- 3:37friendship with a person, but that person is your go to
- 3:39contact within the class that's on your day-to-day because you
- 3:43could be on lunch and have an issue and you want to talk to
- 3:44somebody and it's good to have a buddy.
- 3:46OK, so #4 is a personal learners plan.
- 3:48Now this is something that needs to be implemented from the top
- 3:52of the hierarchy in the school where you, when you attend the
- 3:55school, you sit down and speak to him and say, hey, I have
- 3:57issues in these areas of Nelson spectrum and I need help with XY
- 4:01and Z. They then make a learning plan
- 4:03that is distributed to all of the people who would be taking
- 4:08you for that year or for that semester so that they know that
- 4:11you need certain help in certain areas.
- 4:13And so they're not kind of coming to you with a oh, I
- 4:15didn't know you needed help here kind of question.
- 4:17And I've been there in both situations where they've been,
- 4:19oh, I didn't know you had issues.
- 4:21And another time where they say, hey, it's cool we've LED you,
- 4:23we've we've read your personal one's plan and it's all good.
- 4:26So that is a must speak with the person who's in indoctrinating
- 4:30you into the school when you first sign up.
- 4:33And the last thing here is a student point of contact or
- 4:35counsellor. Now I had a student mentor when
- 4:38I attended university and this was amazing with stuff Ed
- 4:40Godsend. I was able to speak to them or
- 4:42anything on a weekly basis. I could make a point was to see
- 4:45them at any time during the week and I had regular e-mail contact
- 4:48with them so I had any issues or discussions that needs to be
- 4:50happening on more of a professional or official
- 4:53official level at the school or the university.
- 4:55I was able to come speak to them and they would take that higher
- 4:58or they would be the person of the contact to go and take that
- 5:00forward. Very interesting and it actually
- 5:02made my life at university a lot easier and more manageable.
- 5:05I don't think I could have been able to do my degree in
- 5:06chemistry. I haven't already had that
- 5:09contact. Guys, if you think this video is
- 5:10valuable, please share it on social media.
- 5:12Give it a like. Leave me a comment if you want
- 5:14to. I love reading college.
- 5:15I'll see you in the next fall guys.
- 5:17Peace.
