- 0:01Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome out to the first ever recording
- 0:06Speaker 1: of a brand new NFL podcast titled Ruffling the Feathers,
- 0:11Speaker 1: where we will be previewing everything that involves the NFL
- 0:15Speaker 1: and we might even try to rile you guys up,
- 0:18Speaker 1: hence the title Ruffling the Feathers. My name is Talent
- 0:23Speaker 1: Maaster Jay, and I am being joined on this podcast
- 0:26Speaker 1: adventure by two incredible guys in Supernova and Brandon also
- 0:31Speaker 1: known as as Kanta. Gentlemen, how are you doing today?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh, we're doing well. It's ready to role some people
- 0:41Speaker 2: up tonight.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Ready to rile some people up. That's a good way
- 0:45Speaker 1: of putting a nova. How do you feel you ready
- 0:47Speaker 1: to rile some people up?
- 0:50Speaker 3: I'm personally speaking, you know, as a high school reporter
- 0:52Speaker 3: of a geographer and a junior college commentator, I always
- 0:55Speaker 3: do a phage. I did do all the sports stuff
- 0:56Speaker 3: happening in the underworld. And it's gonna be interesting to
- 0:59Speaker 3: see what, obviously we end up discussing, because you know,
- 1:02Speaker 3: we could end up on arguable debates between ourselves, maybe
- 1:04Speaker 3: even the viewers of this podcast.
- 1:06Speaker 4: But you know, I'm ready for it.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I had to deal with some things already today, So
- 1:10Speaker 3: why not another thing as co hosts.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Well, that's always a good thing.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And honestly, when it comes to talking about the NFL,
- 1:21Speaker 1: I think it's safe to say when you do a
- 1:23Speaker 1: podcast for the first time, you got to talk about
- 1:26Speaker 1: where you guys come from, why you guys are doing
- 1:29Speaker 1: a podcast. So just give people an opportunity to know
- 1:33Speaker 1: who the hosts are and why they should start hating
- 1:38Speaker 1: you early in this podcast endeavor. So let's go around
- 1:42Speaker 1: the horn on this one. Brandon, start us off with
- 1:45Speaker 1: introducing yourself to the podcast community and explain who you are,
- 1:48Speaker 1: what you're a fan of, and why you're a fan
- 1:51Speaker 1: of that team.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So fun fact for me, and this is already going
- 1:55Speaker 2: to roughle a lot of feathers. Is I was raised
- 1:59Speaker 2: a Boston of everything you name it, Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots,
- 2:07Speaker 2: Rip to the goat Miss Tom Brady so much. Please
- 2:10Speaker 2: come back. Ah, outside of that, generally, like all sports
- 2:16Speaker 2: outside you know, as far as like real life activities
- 2:19Speaker 2: are concerned, I help work for kind of organize a
- 2:23Speaker 2: community at my local games store, and I also work
- 2:33Speaker 2: full time Sturing warehouse. Busy day, busy life, busy everything
- 2:38Speaker 2: we love it love to come home, unwind, watch whatever's
- 2:41Speaker 2: on the sports channel, you name it. You know debates first,
- 2:46Speaker 2: take Steven A all these other debaters that like to
- 2:50Speaker 2: get fiery themselves. It's a it's a nice way to
- 2:53Speaker 2: unwind for the day.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I mean, that's always a good thing about it. And honestly,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say this off rip. We don't want
- 3:03Speaker 1: Tom Brady back in the NFL. It's already bad enough
- 3:06Speaker 1: that the NFL gave him ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders,
- 3:10Speaker 1: even though it's a small ownership percentage, so I can
- 3:16Speaker 1: intercheck here.
- 3:17Speaker 3: He's has he being rude to go to the WWE
- 3:19Speaker 3: for some reason because he slapped Locan Paul.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Well, in all fairness, who doesn't want to slap Logan Paul.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's valid, that's so valid. Yeah, very slappable face.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, though I will say this as a
- 3:35Speaker 1: slight casual wrestling fan, I was very skeptical of him
- 3:41Speaker 1: even going into WWE in the first place, or wrestling
- 3:44Speaker 1: in general. But honestly, Logan Paul has impressed me with
- 3:48Speaker 1: how he's performed, and he's such a natural heel because
- 3:51Speaker 1: as we just said, he's got a very slappable face.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So Tom Brady is basically this generation stone cold Steve Austin,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and Logan Paul is this generation's mister McMahon. Everybody wants
- 4:03Speaker 1: to see Tom Brady slap the shit out of Logan Paul.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but I digress there. I mean, we don't really
- 4:10Speaker 3: want to see Tom Brady back. He's away like he's Honestly,
- 4:13Speaker 3: here's my hot take. He's actually a really damn good
- 4:15Speaker 3: color college tear.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I will agree with that, And I want to say
- 4:20Speaker 1: that when it was announced that he was going to Fox,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I thought, Okay, that's gonna be a very good, uh
- 4:25Speaker 1: change up on the Fox team after they lost Joe
- 4:28Speaker 1: Buck and Troy Yeikman, which to me, I still think
- 4:30Speaker 1: that is the best commentary team in the NFL bar none.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But I really liked how Greg Olsen was doing it
- 4:37Speaker 1: with Kevin Burkhart. And to see Greg Olsen be knocked
- 4:41Speaker 1: down from the AD team to the Bead team in
- 4:43Speaker 1: place of Tom Brady, I was one of those people
- 4:46Speaker 1: who was not a fan of that because I really
- 4:49Speaker 1: thought Greg Golson earned that right. But yeah, Tom Brady
- 4:52Speaker 1: has impressed me on the commentary Mike.
- 4:56Speaker 2: As far as as far as I guess, I actually
- 4:59Speaker 2: am the compleat oppos I actually despise the Troy Aikman
- 5:03Speaker 2: as a commentator. I thought that this man was so
- 5:06Speaker 2: full of himself. He's sitting over here like I know everything,
- 5:09Speaker 2: I know what you're gonna do. It's I mean, you
- 5:13Speaker 2: could not catch a single Cowboys game that this man
- 5:17Speaker 2: commentated on to where he was not. Yeah, Cowboys doing
- 5:21Speaker 2: good every time they go against the Cowboys. And at
- 5:26Speaker 2: the same time, you have I do agree about Greg Olsen.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I do it? Am I wrong?
- 5:31Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't know if you're wrong or
- 5:37Speaker 5: not on that one.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But what I will say, at least with Troy Aikman,
- 5:41Speaker 1: uh nova, I think it's safe to say on this one.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Is he talking about Troy Aikman. Is he talking about
- 5:45Speaker 5: Tony Romo.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You'm talking about I think I think he was aman.
- 5:50Speaker 2: But at the same time, I was gonna say, Tony Romo,
- 5:54Speaker 2: hate Carolis, fucking hate the Cowboys. It's always their year.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's always their year to either go five hundred or
- 6:00Speaker 2: choke in the first round of playoffs. It's always the same.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So it sends their ear.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Technically, hey, their defense choking lately. They just said underperforming
- 6:09Speaker 3: as always.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, it's also valid.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But no, like but every but but every Cowboys loss
- 6:16Speaker 1: is Southern Steves win because you get you get to
- 6:22Speaker 1: see just Stephen a inside of wherever he is in
- 6:26Speaker 1: that beautiful penthouse or lomped up there in New York City,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and then you just see the game, the end game.
- 6:33Speaker 5: You see him all shaking hands and kissing babies on
- 6:37Speaker 5: the TV, and then that camera slowly hands to Stephen's
- 6:42Speaker 5: face and then you just see a.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I love it.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I love it for the Cowboys.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well, anybody who's every watching YouTube, I mean, if you
- 6:55Speaker 3: ever watch Urina Trees content, you know you'll always gotch
- 6:58Speaker 3: the cawfish. How about that Galloys? When everybody's anything relevant?
- 7:03Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I don't know if I like You're
- 7:05Speaker 1: an injury more if I like Tom Grossey with why
- 7:09Speaker 1: with wy I love me some.
- 7:14Speaker 3: But I speaking of thinking of wild fire, I actually
- 7:16Speaker 3: do have high belief once we get into these topics.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I do have high belief in the Washington Commanders. Maybe
- 7:21Speaker 3: it's just localcity bioast because like you know, my community
- 7:23Speaker 3: has you know, one of the best you know high
- 7:27Speaker 3: school basis. You know, with Jaydon Daniels at quarterback, I
- 7:30Speaker 3: still believe in him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Well let's I definitely think that. But I think we
- 7:37Speaker 1: also need to introduce our second host, Brandon, so Nova
- 7:41Speaker 1: take it away, introduce yourself, explain where you are and
- 7:45Speaker 1: what you enjoy about your team, and maybe do something
- 7:49Speaker 1: like Brandon's did and give us a hot take early
- 7:52Speaker 1: to ruffle some feathers.
- 7:54Speaker 3: All right, So, those who don't know me, I am
- 7:56Speaker 3: super Nova in real life. I am known as a
- 7:59Speaker 3: videot for my local community in the England Empire, southern California,
- 8:03Speaker 3: here for Riverside TV, the Inland Sports show, and in
- 8:06Speaker 3: an very media groups and assisting high school football for
- 8:09Speaker 3: the past three years all over the community area. You know,
- 8:13Speaker 3: been a part of a couple of CIF playoffs and
- 8:16Speaker 3: as well as helping out San Aberndad in the Valley
- 8:18Speaker 3: College with their commentary team.
- 8:20Speaker 4: But realistically where I started with the NFL.
- 8:23Speaker 3: This is gonna be a funny story for YouTube. The
- 8:25Speaker 3: very first thing I watched was when I was It
- 8:28Speaker 3: was thirteen years ago, when it was the twenty thirteen
- 8:31Speaker 3: fourteen season. When I first saw Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and I for some reason decided to like the Baltimore
- 8:39Speaker 3: Ravens on first impression. I kind of stuck with them
- 8:42Speaker 3: since then, and I've been for every pick and thin
- 8:45Speaker 3: of you know, the Ravens. And that's kind of where
- 8:48Speaker 3: I am. I did recently go to stuff. I stayed
- 8:51Speaker 3: and watched the Ravens win I guess the Chargers on
- 8:53Speaker 3: Sunday Night Football in twenty twenty three. And I also
- 8:58Speaker 3: want to digress to the whole comment sate thing. I
- 9:00Speaker 3: guess a I do commentate, and I'm gonna get my
- 9:04Speaker 3: hot take beside eight teams? How did you guys miss
- 9:07Speaker 3: Kevin Harlan and add you cattle on a CBS.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I think those two guys are really good.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I mean, in all fairness, I will give Kevin Harlan
- 9:16Speaker 1: his flowers. I very much like Kevin Harlan. He does
- 9:19Speaker 1: a very good job on CBS. And honestly, yeah, Brandon,
- 9:23Speaker 1: how did we forget the CBS teams? But then again,
- 9:26Speaker 1: also Nova the AID team on CBS. We know it's
- 9:29Speaker 1: Tony Romo and Jim Nantz.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually have a hot take. I mean, this
- 9:34Speaker 3: is really like a hot take it's kind of just
- 9:35Speaker 3: like a real thing where Tony Rob with this star
- 9:37Speaker 3: hop and it's just like the years pass on by
- 9:40Speaker 3: and it's like, is this guy regrets? Is this like
- 9:42Speaker 3: analysis of Tony Row just regressing every year? Because I
- 9:45Speaker 3: feel like that's what's been happening.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's definitely a fair point to put
- 9:53Speaker 1: out there.
- 9:55Speaker 5: And honestly, you know, actually, Brandon, I'm gonna do this
- 9:59Speaker 5: with with Nova real quick.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Now, here's a guy who wants to talk about commentary
- 10:07Speaker 1: teams that we forgot about, and he wants to go
- 10:10Speaker 1: after this specific person on the commentary team that we
- 10:15Speaker 1: forgot about. And I think that if we look at
- 10:18Speaker 1: this guy right here, you're gonna see that this guy
- 10:21Speaker 1: knows what he's talking about and this guy doesn't know Jack.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And honestly, I honestly I slid in when I did
- 10:32Speaker 1: that commentary too.
- 10:33Speaker 5: I slid in on that one.
- 10:38Speaker 3: That's definitely something that again, like, I mean, I'm pretty
- 10:42Speaker 3: sure the hot take is that Andrew Catalog should be
- 10:45Speaker 3: we've been beteen territory. But I think he's also perfectly
- 10:48Speaker 3: fy where he is. He's like, you know, he doesn't
- 10:50Speaker 3: get like the best games but any it's like there's
- 10:53Speaker 3: a bit of like lesson in terms of like commentary
- 10:56Speaker 3: is like you have to take some times bad games
- 10:58Speaker 3: on the surface value like two teams are, and you
- 11:00Speaker 3: got somehow make it into it a great production. And
- 11:04Speaker 3: I think Acadah does a really good job at that.
- 11:07Speaker 1: No, that's definitely a fair one. Uh And honestly, gentlemen,
- 11:11Speaker 1: we're saving.
- 11:12Speaker 5: The best for last on the introductions.
- 11:14Speaker 1: On this one, I just had to throw that line
- 11:17Speaker 1: out there because I'm gonna ruff with your guys's feathers
- 11:19Speaker 1: that people are here for me. And I always I
- 11:22Speaker 1: should I should have done my impersonation on that one.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I should have done my impersonation on that one. But
- 11:27Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, I am talentmaster jay I. I grew
- 11:33Speaker 1: up in the Florida area. I am originally from New York,
- 11:38Speaker 1: the best state in the Union. Argue with your mother
- 11:41Speaker 1: if you disagree with that one, because New York is
- 11:44Speaker 1: where everything is except football, because the only team that's
- 11:49Speaker 1: good in that state resides in Upstate New York, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: they might as well be in Canada if they play
- 11:57Speaker 1: any further with how that stadium looks.
- 12:00Speaker 5: But I like Nova. I got my introduction to.
- 12:04Speaker 1: The NFL in a more unique sort of ways, in
- 12:09Speaker 1: the sense that I first saw the Atlanta Falcons play
- 12:14Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety eight. It was the nineteen ninety eight
- 12:18Speaker 1: NFC title game. I was two years old, and according
- 12:23Speaker 1: to my parents, the story went that I was ecstatic
- 12:27Speaker 1: when the Falcons beat the Vikings because going into that game,
- 12:31Speaker 1: it was basically Dennis Green, Randall Cunningham, Randy Moss, Chris Carter,
- 12:37Speaker 1: that team was destined for the Super Bowl.
- 12:41Speaker 5: And then Gary Anderson shanks a thirty yard field go
- 12:44Speaker 5: wide right.
- 12:45Speaker 1: The Falcons score touchdown and Morien Anderson's left foot sends
- 12:49Speaker 1: Atlanta to Miami, where they end up losing to John
- 12:54Speaker 1: Elway and Shannon Sharp and Terrell Davis in the Super Bowl,
- 12:59Speaker 1: of which, uh, Brandon Nova, I'm gonna throw this pop
- 13:03Speaker 1: quiz out to you guys. I'm gonna throw a pop
- 13:04Speaker 1: quiz as a little bit of a way to ruffle
- 13:07Speaker 1: your guys's feathers. Do you guys know what official TV
- 13:13Speaker 1: show debuted during that Super Bowl?
- 13:20Speaker 4: I don't have anything immedia in my mind.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Because there's like a couple of networks I could think of,
- 13:25Speaker 3: but I don't remember anything debuting in stipp thirty four era.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Well, if you had to throw, if you had to
- 13:35Speaker 1: throw a show out there, think think nineteen ninety nine.
- 13:41Speaker 2: You said nineteen ninety eight, right, The.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Ninety eight NFC title game was for the Super Bowl
- 13:46Speaker 1: in ninety nine.
- 13:48Speaker 4: The only thing that I can think of, I just
- 13:51Speaker 4: to say, the only to get if I told my
- 13:53Speaker 4: head fish, I'm frae sure is wrong? Answer is friends?
- 13:56Speaker 5: Okay, we got friends? And Brandon, what do you say?
- 14:01Speaker 2: The only thing that I can think of, because I'm
- 14:03Speaker 2: reflexed my age here for a second. Nineteen ninety eight,
- 14:05Speaker 2: I was seven. So the only thing that I could
- 14:09Speaker 2: think of that I watched and that my mom watched
- 14:11Speaker 2: on TV all the time was a new special of
- 14:14Speaker 2: Third Rock from the Sun, because we watched that show religiously.
- 14:18Speaker 2: That's the only thing that comes to my mind.
- 14:21Speaker 1: All right, Well, we got a friends, we got a
- 14:24Speaker 1: Third Rock from the Sun, and you both are wrong.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And Brandon, I'm gonna take your New England card from
- 14:32Speaker 1: you because of that answer.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Oh it's fine, it's fine.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Well, the reason I say it is because the show
- 14:40Speaker 1: that debuted on January thirty first, nineteen ninety nine, the
- 14:45Speaker 1: day of that Super Bowl Brandon, I'm gonna break into
- 14:49Speaker 1: a song and dance real quick for this one. And
- 14:53Speaker 1: seems today that all yeah see and Saxon TV.
- 15:01Speaker 2: The one show that I don't ever actually watch.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It, and it just got apparently green lit for a
- 15:09Speaker 1: spin off of Stewie.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Hey Eddy even look Farlane, Oh no, I forget.
- 15:20Speaker 5: No. Seth McFarlane is the Family Guy creator.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Okay, got cast cast, Yeah, he's he's basically everything there
- 15:31Speaker 1: and noted Patriot fan. All right, So now that we've
- 15:38Speaker 1: gotten that out of the way, we've gotten our introductions
- 15:42Speaker 1: out of the way, gentlemen, let's talk about training camp
- 15:46Speaker 1: because we're getting this episode out right as training camps
- 15:51Speaker 1: are about to open up. The first training camps actually
- 15:56Speaker 1: opened up yesterday as we are record, and that was
- 16:01Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills and the Carolina Panthers and the Houston
- 16:05Speaker 1: Texans and Miami Dolphins and oh wait, I'm apology.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Those were rookie report dates.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I'm looking at the wrong information there, I'm looking at
- 16:14Speaker 1: the wrong information.
- 16:16Speaker 4: It's still relevant though, because you know, the rookies show up.
- 16:20Speaker 5: That is true. The rookies do have to show up.
- 16:22Speaker 5: So those.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Teams have already had their rookies report, and there were
- 16:27Speaker 1: some teams that also reported today. The latest report date
- 16:31Speaker 1: for a rookie team, it appears, will be the Green
- 16:36Speaker 1: Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Oh actually no, it'll be
- 16:41Speaker 1: on July twenty eighth, which will be the New Orleans Saints,
- 16:44Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. So those three
- 16:49Speaker 1: not only have the rookies report the same day, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: they're veterans report. So that's actually kind of interesting right there,
- 16:57Speaker 1: that we have three teams all reporting at the same day,
- 17:01Speaker 1: is it not.
- 17:05Speaker 2: It's definitely a little strange, especially considering you know, from
- 17:07Speaker 2: a New England standpoint that they also have joint practices
- 17:11Speaker 2: with the Patriots. Think like, I think it's closer towards
- 17:14Speaker 2: the end of August. I want to say, it's like
- 17:16Speaker 2: around the eighteenth, nineteenth or twentieth somewhere around there. So
- 17:20Speaker 2: it kind of makes me wonder, you know, what's.
- 17:23Speaker 5: What's what's gonna happen.
- 17:28Speaker 2: With those concerned New England's reporting three days earlier?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that that does make a lot of
- 17:35Speaker 1: sense there, But given that we know that these teams
- 17:39Speaker 1: are having their report dates already confirmed. We're gonna preview
- 17:45Speaker 1: some of those training camps right now, ladies and gentlemen.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And the best way I could think of it is,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'm going to showcase these articles. So we're gonna talk
- 17:56Speaker 1: about ESPN and CBS Sports. So, gentlemen, are you ready
- 18:02Speaker 1: for ESPN?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Let's do it?
- 18:08Speaker 5: All right, let's do it.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So we're gonna start with ESPN and five unanswered questions
- 18:15Speaker 1: that could be answered. And these five questions are did
- 18:19Speaker 1: the Texans do enough along the offensive line? What does
- 18:24Speaker 1: the Eagles offense look like? How does coordinator Davis Webb
- 18:30Speaker 1: change the Broncos? Is the Bengals defense ready to meet expectations?
- 18:36Speaker 1: I think I already know one person's answer on that one.
- 18:41Speaker 1: And what sort of first team reps does Fernando Mendoza
- 18:46Speaker 1: get and what does he do with them?
- 18:53Speaker 4: I wonder where we're going first?
- 18:54Speaker 3: Is all five of those are really argumentative, and as
- 18:57Speaker 3: he said, this one of them that I think there
- 18:59Speaker 3: might be some by towards, but there's also a good
- 19:01Speaker 3: amount of evidence to support my answer. Even though it
- 19:04Speaker 3: may not sound like bias. You know, I could be
- 19:06Speaker 3: giving a bias dancer, but it's also logical within the bias. Well,
- 19:12Speaker 3: let's hear it, so I'll talk about the Bengals whole thing.
- 19:15Speaker 5: You know.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Obviously, the Bengals big move this offseason was the Draft
- 19:18Speaker 3: day trade for Dexter Warres something New York Giants, which
- 19:21Speaker 3: personally surprised me because it was rumored that there was
- 19:24Speaker 3: some contract negotiations between the New York Giants and Dexter Lawrence,
- 19:27Speaker 3: especially if he has former Ravens head coach and now
- 19:30Speaker 3: Giants head coach John Harbaugh really wanted to keep him
- 19:33Speaker 3: to maintain that big defensive maneuver and you know, that
- 19:36Speaker 3: big defensive line that Giants have been trying to build up,
- 19:39Speaker 3: especially with the developments of Abdua Carter. But with the
- 19:42Speaker 3: Bengals were acquiring Dexter Lawrence, there's an unbelievable amount hypes
- 19:48Speaker 3: of the Bengals defense is finally gonna do something. But
- 19:50Speaker 3: here's your problem. You got Dexter Lawris, but you lost
- 19:53Speaker 3: Trey Hendrickson Tutor Ravens, which, by the way, this isn't
- 19:56Speaker 3: a bias thing, you know, I've I know, it's like
- 19:59Speaker 3: a ival reef in between the Braves and Bengals.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Which, in my opinion or the top two teams in
- 20:03Speaker 4: the ANFC North at setace value.
- 20:06Speaker 3: But the whole thing about the Bengals right now is
- 20:08Speaker 3: that Joe Burrow has consistently getting hurt these past couple
- 20:11Speaker 3: of years, and they's spending this whole internet debate between
- 20:15Speaker 3: Joe Burrow and you know, if he's able to stay
- 20:18Speaker 3: healthy or not. Where If Joe Burrow is healthy, this
- 20:20Speaker 3: Bengal scene can you know, be carried at the back
- 20:22Speaker 3: of Joe Burrow. But if you were consistently seeing the
- 20:25Speaker 3: Bengals last season, Joe Burrow couldn't do everything. That defense
- 20:29Speaker 3: let them down the entire time. And I don't think
- 20:31Speaker 3: defensive line was the major issue. And although I do
- 20:34Speaker 3: believe Dexter Lawrence doesn't prove that defensive line, I think
- 20:37Speaker 3: the bigger issues comes from either the secondary or the
- 20:39Speaker 3: linebacking corps. And there's gonna be a lot of pressure
- 20:42Speaker 3: on that Bengals defense because I think I might have
- 20:45Speaker 3: this information correct.
- 20:46Speaker 4: But I don't recall what it was.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Was like the defensive coordinator got fired, they got a
- 20:52Speaker 3: new one, and I still am concerned for that Bengals defense.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I mean, I can definitely see where you're coming from
- 21:06Speaker 1: on that side, Nova, and honestly, I would agree with
- 21:10Speaker 1: that side of things as well on my end when
- 21:14Speaker 1: it comes to the Bengals and just how they're going
- 21:18Speaker 1: to work with that defensive line or just even their
- 21:23Speaker 1: defense in general, because I don't know about you guys.
- 21:27Speaker 2: But.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I mean, it's always felt like the Bengals to me,
- 21:33Speaker 1: they have been an offensive team more than a defensive team,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and quite candidly on that, it just feels like, I mean,
- 21:44Speaker 1: we've seen the shirts before going out there where it's effort.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Jamar Chase is down there somewhere that's basically Joe Burrow
- 21:53Speaker 1: in a nutshell. So honestly, I am curious about how
- 21:59Speaker 1: the Bengals defense will perform this season. I was like Unova,
- 22:04Speaker 1: I kind of was shocked that Dexter Lawrence got traded
- 22:09Speaker 1: to Cincinnati. Of all places. You wouldn't think Cincinnati would
- 22:14Speaker 1: have been on the just in the range of that,
- 22:18Speaker 1: especially with the fact that they let Trey Hendrickson walk
- 22:22Speaker 1: in free agency. And well, now Trey Hendrickson gets to
- 22:26Speaker 1: sack Joe Burrow a couple of times.
- 22:29Speaker 3: And I imagine because of the offensive light, and I
- 22:32Speaker 3: still believe it's extremely suspect for the Bengals. I don't
- 22:35Speaker 3: imagine Joe Burrow is gonna have a good time because, look,
- 22:38Speaker 3: you could put all your eggs in one basket being
- 22:39Speaker 3: Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, and T Higgins. But those three
- 22:43Speaker 3: players alone don't make up an offense. It's a team
- 22:45Speaker 3: effort and it always will be a tea effort at
- 22:47Speaker 3: the end of the day.
- 22:49Speaker 5: You're definitely right there.
- 22:50Speaker 1: It is a team effort at the end of the day, Brandon,
- 22:54Speaker 1: of those five unanswered questions, which one do you think
- 22:59Speaker 1: is going to be answered?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Honestly, I kind of tend to agree with Nova and
- 23:05Speaker 2: the things that he was saying regarding that, because as
- 23:07Speaker 2: far as letting Cincinnati letting Hendrickson walk, I know there
- 23:11Speaker 2: was a lot of issues that Cincinnati had with some
- 23:13Speaker 2: rising injury concerns, the fact that the man wanted more
- 23:18Speaker 2: money than honestly what I think he's even worth. So,
- 23:22Speaker 2: I mean, he was a great player training into another
- 23:30Speaker 2: with the fact anything, because you also have to realize
- 23:33Speaker 2: how many new additions they have had to adjust their
- 23:37Speaker 2: corners and safeties alone, because you've got a I think
- 23:42Speaker 2: for corners and safeties. I know they have at least
- 23:45Speaker 2: DJ Turner, Dax Hill, and I think they have dj Ivy,
- 23:48Speaker 2: but they also recently acquired Kyle Dugger off of the Patriots.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think this past offseason as well, Kyle Dugger has
- 23:56Speaker 2: been a great safety. I think he was pretty decent
- 23:59Speaker 2: when he went Leonora Ron as well. So their defensive
- 24:04Speaker 2: line is fine, especially with them picking up d l
- 24:06Speaker 2: All from the Giants, It's going to be more so
- 24:08Speaker 2: tested on their safeties, and I think that they're gonna
- 24:11Speaker 2: be really tested on man coverage with all their new additions.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it will be interesting to see how
- 24:20Speaker 1: Cincinnati's defense will perform.
- 24:23Speaker 5: But let's move on.
- 24:25Speaker 1: To the next category for the ESPN Training Camp and
- 24:30Speaker 1: this one is titled five Training Camp Battles to Watch,
- 24:36Speaker 1: which I think for the three of us, given our
- 24:38Speaker 1: background outside of the NFL, we like some battles, do
- 24:41Speaker 1: we not?
- 24:43Speaker 3: This battles is definitely interesting because you know, it's people
- 24:46Speaker 3: fighting for those jobs and people trying to prove themselves
- 24:49Speaker 3: to be the cream of the crop. You know, the
- 24:51Speaker 3: reason they drafted Slash signed them to a deal. They
- 24:54Speaker 3: want to be able to prove themselves consistently and want
- 24:56Speaker 3: to be able to show the coaches.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Hey, I got you.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I mean that definitely is true.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And ESPN lists these five position or yeah positions as
- 25:09Speaker 1: training camp battles to watch. We have the Jets and
- 25:13Speaker 1: their cornerback position, the Chargers and their tight end position,
- 25:20Speaker 1: the Jaguars with their wide receiver position, the forty nine
- 25:25Speaker 1: ers secondary. So they don't even list a position. They
- 25:29Speaker 1: just put the whole secondary.
- 25:31Speaker 5: On blasts and.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Some team that we don't have to worry about because
- 25:39Speaker 1: their best position room is totally not a training camp
- 25:45Speaker 1: battle whatsoever.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I mean, if you're not telling us what it is,
- 25:49Speaker 4: we can't really dissect it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: A Falcons quarterback, there's a whole lot of room forever
- 25:56Speaker 2: air in that one.
- 26:00Speaker 4: I don't even think the quarterback is the problem.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I think the problem might just be pressure in coming
- 26:03Speaker 3: because you know, I mean, I'm can answer this one specifically.
- 26:06Speaker 4: You might actually this.
- 26:08Speaker 3: More talon, but you know, having too many quarterbacks isn't
- 26:11Speaker 3: a bad thing.
- 26:11Speaker 4: But here's your problem, Michael Pennick.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Still, in my opinion, these times developed because you know,
- 26:16Speaker 3: he's been inconsistent. You know, one day you'll have a
- 26:19Speaker 3: great game and hopefully leave the Falcons to something magical.
- 26:22Speaker 3: But then the next moment he was probably five picks
- 26:24Speaker 3: or having that terrible dud game at Carolina where it's like,
- 26:27Speaker 3: oh my goodness.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Okay, okay, let's let's let's let's put a time out
- 26:32Speaker 1: on there. I'm gonna throw the I'm gonna throw the
- 26:34Speaker 1: penalty flag on Nova for that one.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Uh, because I.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Mean, he's guys, he's starting to ruffle my feathers. And
- 26:41Speaker 1: this is just the first episode of the podcast.
- 26:44Speaker 4: I mean, you would have let that prod up the
- 26:45Speaker 4: quarterback crew? What do you want me to say?
- 26:47Speaker 1: I mean, you can say there is no quarner. You
- 26:49Speaker 1: can say there is no quarterback controversy there. It's gonna
- 26:51Speaker 1: be Michael Penick's winning the job.
- 26:54Speaker 2: But I mean you could have just you could have
- 26:55Speaker 2: also just said there was no quarterback. And it's also
- 26:58Speaker 2: the completely applicable statement.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Well, in all fairness, this is what I'm going to
- 27:05Speaker 1: say about that position, and then I'm gonna go with
- 27:07Speaker 1: a different position group when it comes to the Falcons
- 27:11Speaker 1: quarterback position as a training camp battle to watch, all
- 27:15Speaker 1: I will say about our quarterback room is very simple.
- 27:20Speaker 1: The Falcons, we have two left handed quarterbacks, so that
- 27:24Speaker 1: actually helps out the running backs, the tight ends, and
- 27:28Speaker 1: the wide receivers, because instead of having a lefty and
- 27:33Speaker 1: a righty, you have two left handed quarterbacks, so you
- 27:35Speaker 1: know the ball is only coming one way when the
- 27:38Speaker 1: ball is thrown. Yes, they may come out a little wonky,
- 27:42Speaker 1: they may have a little they might not be perfect
- 27:44Speaker 1: spirals every single time, but I will hold this against
- 27:48Speaker 1: any quarterback in the league. Left handed quarterbacks are way
- 27:52Speaker 1: stronger than right handed quarterbacks. Were not as accurate as
- 27:56Speaker 1: right handed quarterbacks. I may, I can see that side
- 27:59Speaker 1: of it, But right handed quarterbacks, unless your name is
- 28:02Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford, you really don't have an arm like a
- 28:05Speaker 1: left handed quarterback where it's just a flick of a
- 28:07Speaker 1: wrist and that ball is fifty yards down the field.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I mean that also, a strike of two tack of
- 28:12Speaker 3: viola in Miami up until you know the lion Ishes
- 28:16Speaker 3: ended up being a problem as well as you know
- 28:18Speaker 3: the fall off between you know, Tua's great seasons in
- 28:22Speaker 3: Miami and then this last prior season where he kind
- 28:24Speaker 3: of it's in its ton no favors and unfortunately for
- 28:27Speaker 3: Miami had to eat the biggest cap space in dead
- 28:30Speaker 3: cap in NFL history. But that might be a benefit
- 28:33Speaker 3: for the Falcons because you know, at the quarterback battle
- 28:35Speaker 3: room is actually a battle and pop quarterbacks and up
- 28:38Speaker 3: being inconsistent as it is, then it really is hard
- 28:41Speaker 3: to get so who's better between Panicks and Tua.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well, the reason that I say that there isn't really
- 28:47Speaker 1: a quarterback battle brewing in Atlanta is most I mean again, look,
- 28:51Speaker 1: am I going with some.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Tunnel vision here?
- 28:55Speaker 1: Probably? Am I not seeing the forest through the trees?
- 28:58Speaker 1: Probably a little little bit. But the way that I
- 29:02Speaker 1: looked at last year, and yes, I'm throwing that Panthers
- 29:05Speaker 1: game out because technically the Falcons did two. For the
- 29:09Speaker 1: most part last year, they threw that game out. They
- 29:11Speaker 1: didn't really care about what happened in that game, and
- 29:14Speaker 1: then you saw what happened the next two weeks.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Michael Pennix looked.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Really good against the Commanders and looked really good against
- 29:22Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills. Now, yes, Bajon had the eighty nine
- 29:26Speaker 1: yard touchdown run against the Bills up the right sideline
- 29:30Speaker 1: and then had a ninety three yard one against the
- 29:33Speaker 1: Rams on Monday Night football. He really likes getting eighty
- 29:36Speaker 1: plus yard touchdown runs on Monday Night Football. I'm noticing
- 29:40Speaker 1: so we might be predicating something happening this year.
- 29:45Speaker 5: But when you looked.
- 29:46Speaker 1: At how yes, I will say Penix did look a
- 29:49Speaker 1: little inconsistent at times, But when you looked at how
- 29:54Speaker 1: he was going before that injury, and I'll hold this up, Uh,
- 30:01Speaker 1: when you are a quarterback, I don't care if you're
- 30:03Speaker 1: Tom Brady for Brandon or if you're freaking Trent Dilfer
- 30:09Speaker 1: for the Ravens. If the five guys up front can't
- 30:14Speaker 1: let a play develop, it's very difficult for a quarterback
- 30:18Speaker 1: to succeed in this league, especially with how soft the
- 30:22Speaker 1: league is, where if you're not tucking them in your
- 30:25Speaker 1: their bed sheets, putting a pillow under their head and
- 30:29Speaker 1: reading them the little engine that could, it's a flag
- 30:32Speaker 1: for roughing the passer. Uh. But before Michael Penny's got
- 30:39Speaker 1: injured last year, the Falcons were up twenty one to
- 30:43Speaker 1: nothing against the Panthers. And then our third string right
- 30:48Speaker 1: tackle because our starting right tackle got injured in training camp,
- 30:52Speaker 1: and our second string right tackle. I don't know what
- 30:57Speaker 1: was wrong with his knee, or what was wrong with
- 31:01Speaker 1: our medical staff or what was going on there, but
- 31:05Speaker 1: he didn't play at all. He was always on the
- 31:08Speaker 1: pup list, and we had our third string right tackle,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and our third string right tackle basically did what Caleb
- 31:17Speaker 1: McGary does whenever he saw Cam Jordan, which is ball
- 31:20Speaker 1: flat on his ass. And Michael Penix got hurt as
- 31:23Speaker 1: a result of his blind side protection not working for him. So,
- 31:30Speaker 1: at least for me, that's why I think Penix will
- 31:34Speaker 1: win this job. I think he was actually looking really good,
- 31:37Speaker 1: like he was starting to turn a corner before that injury.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I mean I was in attendance for the Patriots game
- 31:46Speaker 1: two weeks before he got injured. Penix looked pretty good
- 31:49Speaker 1: in that game. I had trick to Drake London, like
- 31:52Speaker 1: you really can't script much better than that. And also
- 31:55Speaker 1: he Drake London made Christian Gonzales look like his I mean,
- 32:00Speaker 1: it was basically like a.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Mother to a son, you know, just smacking that boy.
- 32:05Speaker 1: But if you watch what happened the week prior, gentlemen,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you look at that Colts game, Michael Pennix had one
- 32:12Speaker 1: of the prettiest touch throws to Drake Lennon. That was
- 32:16Speaker 1: always a critique about Michael Pennix's game. He didn't really
- 32:19Speaker 1: have a good touch pass. And you saw that touch
- 32:23Speaker 1: pass and that was like perfect arc, perfect trajectory. And
- 32:29Speaker 1: I mean, it doesn't help the fact that the Falcons
- 32:31Speaker 1: just can't beat the Indianapolis Colts and they can't beat
- 32:34Speaker 1: the Pittsburgh Steelers either, So that's going ahead of ourselves
- 32:40Speaker 1: on this one. But I think Michael Pennix will win
- 32:45Speaker 1: Week one in Atlanta. And yes, I get it, the
- 32:49Speaker 1: new regime didn't draft Michael Penix. They don't really have
- 32:52Speaker 1: many ties to Michael Penix. But at the same time,
- 32:56Speaker 1: Matt Ryan is the president of football. He worked with
- 32:59Speaker 1: a great run game in Michael de Berner Turner and
- 33:03Speaker 1: then he had DeVonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. He knows
- 33:06Speaker 1: the value of a good running game. A good running
- 33:09Speaker 1: game off sets a good passing game. And I mean,
- 33:14Speaker 1: we got the best running back in the league, so
- 33:17Speaker 1: I'll leave it at that.
- 33:22Speaker 2: First of all. First of all, Christian Gonzales allowed three
- 33:28Speaker 2: three catches on seven targets in that game, so I
- 33:31Speaker 2: don't know what you're talking about here, And there were
- 33:33Speaker 2: no TVs allowed whenever it was one on one coverage there,
- 33:36Speaker 2: so pumpy breaks on that pumpy that It's not as
- 33:42Speaker 2: pretty as it sounds. It was good, But it wasn't that.
- 33:45Speaker 2: It wasn't that pretty.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Well, well, Nova, I think I ruffled Brandon's feathers there
- 33:52Speaker 1: on that one.
- 33:53Speaker 3: That one was indirectly because I knew we did in
- 33:55Speaker 3: fact play each other, and you know, both of you
- 33:56Speaker 3: guys are gonna have different perspect this. You know, I
- 33:59Speaker 3: actually last that games briefly on red zone. I don't
- 34:01Speaker 3: remember much to the top of my head, but all
- 34:03Speaker 3: I know it was a shank extra point. That's all
- 34:05Speaker 3: I remember.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Yep.
- 34:07Speaker 1: And also we had a we have a player on
- 34:09Speaker 1: Atlanta's defense who I will call number forty because he
- 34:14Speaker 1: doesn't deserve a name. That's how bad he was at
- 34:20Speaker 1: playing middle linebacker. Because on that fateful third down that
- 34:26Speaker 1: Hunter Henry caught the ball to win the game, Number
- 34:30Speaker 1: forty didn't realize, oh, I gotta cover Hunter Henry until
- 34:34Speaker 1: Hunter Henry was already.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Across the line.
- 34:39Speaker 2: So yeah, their old ass white men Tidians.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Well, it's a shame that there's that. That's not a
- 34:47Speaker 1: training camp battle to watch. But what I will say,
- 34:51Speaker 1: my training camp battle to watch. Uh, I'm actually gonna
- 34:55Speaker 1: go with the Jets cornerback position here. And it's not
- 34:59Speaker 1: even just because because of the cornerback room and who
- 35:02Speaker 1: the players are. Uh, gentlemen, I think it's safe to
- 35:07Speaker 1: say that if you're a position and you go seventeen
- 35:13Speaker 1: games without an interception, like something is seriously wrong with you.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Am I right?
- 35:22Speaker 2: Get Jets are gonna Jet.
- 35:24Speaker 3: I'm a little surprised Aaron Glenn to getta have fired
- 35:26Speaker 3: immediately knowing the Jets regime. But these only got worse
- 35:31Speaker 3: for them. Honestly, when did they trade a Soascar? If
- 35:33Speaker 3: the culture now, for the looks of it, it's it
- 35:36Speaker 3: looked like a good trade, but it.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Doesn't change the Jets problems. And I still think Aaron
- 35:40Speaker 4: Glenn's one of them.
- 35:42Speaker 1: I mean, it'll be interesting to see how Aaron Glenn
- 35:46Speaker 1: works and this year, But I am at least a
- 35:48Speaker 1: fan of what the Jets did give him a second year,
- 35:52Speaker 1: especially with the fact that I mean he's in I
- 35:55Speaker 1: mean he's coaching a team in East rut the Ford,
- 35:57Speaker 1: New Jersey. How how good can you really get it
- 36:00Speaker 1: in East Ruttherford, New Jersey. You share a field with
- 36:04Speaker 1: a team that's equally as bad as you guys are.
- 36:09Speaker 3: That's a hot take because the Giants actually have the
- 36:11Speaker 3: statistically better than the Jets, you know.
- 36:13Speaker 5: And saying much, Hey, at least the Giants get too
- 36:17Speaker 5: high the bar. The bar is not too high.
- 36:20Speaker 1: If people want to just say, oh, they got four
- 36:22Speaker 1: super Bowls to the Jets one, I mean you could
- 36:25Speaker 1: throw that out there, and two of them are Brandon's chagrin.
- 36:31Speaker 1: But again the bar is not high with with that.
- 36:38Speaker 5: But let's but let's move.
- 36:40Speaker 1: On to the next category. Gentlemen, We're gonna do this
- 36:44Speaker 1: called what.
- 36:46Speaker 5: What hold on?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Hold on? Hold on? We messed the one. We got
- 36:50Speaker 2: to say the best for last. We say the best
- 36:51Speaker 2: for last. Of course we do another another one. That's question.
- 36:56Speaker 2: This is something I've actually been looking at quite frequently,
- 36:59Speaker 2: is because one one of the teams that I really
- 37:01Speaker 2: kind of have a Loki soft spot for is the
- 37:04Speaker 2: Jacksonville Jaguars, because I do remember that really fateful AFCC
- 37:10Speaker 2: game against New England where Gilmour just smacks that last
- 37:15Speaker 2: ditch pass out of the air, you know, to send
- 37:18Speaker 2: us back to the super Bowl. That Blake Bortles was
- 37:20Speaker 2: like air of that season. However, on that note, I
- 37:25Speaker 2: really don't think there's much of a wide receiver battle
- 37:30Speaker 2: in Jacksonville like people think there is. I don't think
- 37:33Speaker 2: it's more so of they're trying to figure out who
- 37:37Speaker 2: their receivers are as trying to figure out how to
- 37:40Speaker 2: feed all the mouths that they have, Because as far
- 37:43Speaker 2: as that's concerned, you have Brian Thomas, you have Parker Washington,
- 37:47Speaker 2: you have Jacobi Myers, who is also a farmer patriot,
- 37:50Speaker 2: and then you also have Travis Hunter, who's been you know,
- 37:55Speaker 2: fairly recently drafted, who wants to sit there play both
- 37:58Speaker 2: defense and offense. So not only do you have to
- 38:01Speaker 2: figure out how to keep you know, your WR one,
- 38:04Speaker 2: two and three happy, but you've also got you know,
- 38:06Speaker 2: some guy who's in my opinion, better at the corner
- 38:10Speaker 2: position than he is as a receiver, who also wants
- 38:13Speaker 2: to be there at the top of the receiver pecking line.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So Trevor Trevor Lawres has really got to figure out,
- 38:18Speaker 2: along with his you know, wide receiver coach in their
- 38:20Speaker 2: O line, whose mouth are they going to feed the
- 38:23Speaker 2: most and how are you going to keep everybody happy?
- 38:25Speaker 2: I think that's their biggest issue right now at that
- 38:27Speaker 2: receiver position.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I feel like the battle for the ringer receiver position
- 38:31Speaker 3: for Jacksonville, which, by the way, I thought were really good,
- 38:34Speaker 3: especially with that Jacobe Meyers trade from the Vegas Raiders
- 38:36Speaker 3: two to Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 38:38Speaker 4: I think the battle doesn't really.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Stand on who's good, because we know how good that
- 38:42Speaker 3: receiver Cord is, though, Brian Thomas I think is the
- 38:45Speaker 3: asterisk in that regard. But I think the position battle
- 38:48Speaker 3: comes from who's receiver one, who's receiver two, who's the
- 38:51Speaker 3: receiver three? You know, stuff like that you see in
- 38:52Speaker 3: the playbook.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's definitely a way to put it
- 39:00Speaker 1: out there.
- 39:01Speaker 5: And also, I mean, i'll give you that, Brandon.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I mean, it's mostly just too many mouths to feed
- 39:08Speaker 1: in how many chefs can really work in that kitchen,
- 39:10Speaker 1: especially when your chef is Trevor Lawrence.
- 39:15Speaker 2: He's not a bat QB. I mean he's not you know,
- 39:18Speaker 2: he's not like Patrick Mahomes Drake may you know, he
- 39:22Speaker 2: he ain't the levels you know the most of the
- 39:24Speaker 2: other league is in. He's he's I feel like he's
- 39:27Speaker 2: got some more room to improve. I feel like he's
- 39:29Speaker 2: hit his own mental ceiling as well.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely something. But let's move on to that
- 39:38Speaker 1: next category.
- 39:40Speaker 5: Guys.
- 39:40Speaker 1: It is five injuries to monitor, and those injuries are
- 39:47Speaker 1: Malik Neighbors, Patrick Mahomes, Tank Deell, George Kittle, and a
- 39:57Speaker 1: dual injury of Brian Branch and Kirby Jose.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Ooh, that one's a bad one. Yeah, that's a pretty Yeah,
- 40:07Speaker 2: that one's a pretty key injury there. I don't think
- 40:09Speaker 2: that one. I don't think that one really. I think
- 40:12Speaker 2: that one kind of speaks for itself.
- 40:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I think Branching Kirby being you know, injured, it's gonna
- 40:18Speaker 2: have put a lot of tests on that particular team.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I'm just gonna get this one out of the way
- 40:24Speaker 3: because I know we're gonna ask about this in the future.
- 40:26Speaker 3: But the Patrick Mahomes ACL injury, it's rubor that he's
- 40:29Speaker 3: gonna be ready to go in week one, but it's
- 40:32Speaker 3: gonna depend on how well the rehabilitation process for ACL
- 40:35Speaker 3: injuries are. Because as much as we all want to
- 40:37Speaker 3: see the Chiefs just don't get seem to success. There's
- 40:40Speaker 3: the reason they've been successful as they are, and because
- 40:42Speaker 3: they've been adaptable whenever they happened. But you know, this
- 40:45Speaker 3: season last year and really exposed a big flaw and
- 40:49Speaker 3: the Chiefs where they kept relying on one score wins
- 40:52Speaker 3: and they get getting one scare losses in the opposite year.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And then Patrick Mahomes didn't really getting much protection. He
- 40:57Speaker 3: didn't have a good receiver group, Isaiah pa Checko off
- 41:00Speaker 3: for some reason. So I think the whole Mahomes injury,
- 41:03Speaker 3: he is able to elevate teams. I'm more so concerned
- 41:06Speaker 3: about again the rest of the offense. It's like, what's
- 41:10Speaker 3: there to throw to? And how good is Kenneth Walker
- 41:14Speaker 3: with the Chiefs a line.
- 41:17Speaker 5: I mean, that's definitely a fair point to make.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Nova, And I'm just gonna throw this out here to Brandon,
- 41:24Speaker 1: note that Nova singled out a quarterback recovering from an
- 41:29Speaker 1: ACL tear. I mean, I'm not trying to throw out
- 41:37Speaker 1: there that Michael Pennix is Patrick Mahomes, because if I do,
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna need a cat scan because I have evidently
- 41:47Speaker 1: lost my freaking marbles. But rober Room at the Puzzle Factory,
- 41:57Speaker 1: you name it, I need it.
- 41:58Speaker 5: But yea.
- 42:00Speaker 1: And at the same time, when we think about that, Brandon,
- 42:03Speaker 1: note that uh Nova mentioned a quarterback recovering from an
- 42:08Speaker 1: ACL injury.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Which keep in mind he only happened because he was
- 42:12Speaker 3: scrambling on the play because again, his own line wasn't
- 42:14Speaker 3: doing the best job to protect him and the Chargers
- 42:16Speaker 3: defense is.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Like quick on him. But at the same time, we
- 42:19Speaker 5: could have made that same argument six years ago in.
- 42:21Speaker 1: The Super Bowl when the Bucks d line made Patrick
- 42:25Speaker 1: Mahomes run for five football fields before throwing up a pass,
- 42:29Speaker 1: including one that.
- 42:29Speaker 5: He threw parallel to the ground. I'd still somehow through
- 42:32Speaker 5: that ball thirty yards.
- 42:34Speaker 4: That's called effort. Okay, that's called effort.
- 42:36Speaker 2: But look, you're you said, of God, we are not.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Yeah, We're not gonna.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Be comparing Mahomes the PEDICX anytime soon, because you know,
- 42:45Speaker 3: we've seen Mahomes for a lot longer than Panix. But
- 42:48Speaker 3: you know, againcovery ACL test not easy. But I'm more
- 42:51Speaker 3: so concerned if the Chiefs had done enough to repair
- 42:54Speaker 3: the offensive issues.
- 42:56Speaker 2: So the touch on the ACL part, it's you also
- 43:00Speaker 2: have to think about put it in perspective to kind
- 43:02Speaker 2: of give a small little sport by sport comparison here.
- 43:05Speaker 2: You also have to look at players who have recently
- 43:07Speaker 2: torn our ACL and like the NBA for example, think
- 43:10Speaker 2: about how much running and scramley'd they do in comparison.
- 43:13Speaker 2: In contrast, to like an NFL quarterback, right Jason Tatum
- 43:17Speaker 2: of the Celtics recovered from an ACL tear in what
- 43:20Speaker 2: felt like just six or seven months, and this man
- 43:24Speaker 2: was already on the court for playoffs, and he was
- 43:26Speaker 2: already put near til end of the season, already putting
- 43:29Speaker 2: up double doubles. You know, the man that like he
- 43:31Speaker 2: hadn't missed a step. His play style changed a little
- 43:34Speaker 2: bit to kind of preserve his knee from where he
- 43:37Speaker 2: had previously torn his ACL, but then the man was
- 43:41Speaker 2: still amazing. And he also had the same ACL rehabilitation
- 43:44Speaker 2: insurgeon that Kobe had whenever Kobe tore his ACL as
- 43:48Speaker 2: where as well, So you also got to think about,
- 43:51Speaker 2: did Patrick Mahomes find somebody who is just as similar
- 43:56Speaker 2: in their medical skill set for repairing and retraining somebody
- 44:00Speaker 2: ACL And if they did, like Nova said, did they
- 44:04Speaker 2: repair the offensive issues enough to where Patrick Mahomes isn't
- 44:08Speaker 2: scrambling for his life, you know, like he did in
- 44:10Speaker 2: a Super Bowl against Tampa, or like Russell Wilson did
- 44:13Speaker 2: in's against Seattle, or whenever he played in Seattle, you know,
- 44:16Speaker 2: or Andrew Look in Indianapolis, like at the tail end
- 44:20Speaker 2: of the day, it's really gonna fall on the Kansas
- 44:22Speaker 2: City Chiefs. Figure out, Hey, did we do enough to
- 44:24Speaker 2: protect this quarterback that we have an insane amount of
- 44:28Speaker 2: fucking money tied up into for like the next ten years.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's definitely a good point to make, Brandon,
- 44:36Speaker 1: and a nice counterpoint to Nova, and also a counterpoint
- 44:41Speaker 1: to me.
- 44:43Speaker 5: On my whole take there.
- 44:46Speaker 1: I'm at least gonna go with Molik Neighbors, and I
- 44:49Speaker 1: could have easily went Tank Dell instead of Malik Neighbors.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But just because we all were well I don't know
- 45:00Speaker 1: about all of us here. I know Nova definitely was,
- 45:03Speaker 1: but we all followed the World Cup and how great
- 45:06Speaker 1: the World Cup was, and how that World Cup final
- 45:11Speaker 1: was between Spain and Argentina, and how everybody wanted Spain
- 45:17Speaker 1: to win because I guess Argentina is a really bad country.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I don't know these things that all that well, but
- 45:26Speaker 1: you saw it circulating on social media about all the
- 45:30Speaker 1: players like George Kittle, and I mean just a bunch
- 45:36Speaker 1: of players, but Kittle was like the main name that
- 45:39Speaker 1: I remember seeing about bringing the natural grass to fields,
- 45:45Speaker 1: like all these stadiums that had a FIFA World Cup
- 45:50Speaker 1: game for the US in these NFL stadiums, they all
- 45:54Speaker 1: had to use natural grass, not this artificial turf for
- 45:59Speaker 1: astro turf or hybrid turf or whatever kind of turf
- 46:03Speaker 1: is used in East Ruttherford, New Jersey. I know, I
- 46:07Speaker 1: keep throwing that city out there, but it's basically the
- 46:10Speaker 1: easiest jeb that you can make at the Jets and
- 46:13Speaker 1: the Giants because it feels like every single year somebody
- 46:17Speaker 1: gets hurt on that field and.
- 46:19Speaker 5: It's always an ACL injury. So I know that there
- 46:25Speaker 5: was that.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Hashtag going around for bringing natural grass to the NFL
- 46:31Speaker 1: and everything. So my thing with it is I want
- 46:38Speaker 1: to see how Malik Neighbors comes back from an ACL,
- 46:41Speaker 1: especially the fact that he was doing pretty damn good
- 46:44Speaker 1: as a rookie wide receiver with Jameis Winston as his quarterback,
- 46:48Speaker 1: which and again not a knock on Jamis, but I mean,
- 46:53Speaker 1: you really, when you have a quarterback like Jamis, you
- 46:55Speaker 1: really have to count your blessings. I mean, he's a
- 46:59Speaker 1: very cairos add a quarterback, but I mean, what more
- 47:04Speaker 1: can you ask for with with him? And then also
- 47:07Speaker 1: Jackson Dart was there, and Jackson Dart was dealing with
- 47:09Speaker 1: concussion issues and uh Cam Scataboo was doing well on
- 47:14Speaker 1: so Scataboo's knee exploded. So I really want to see
- 47:19Speaker 1: how Malik Neighbors comes back from his ACL injury more
- 47:23Speaker 1: so than anybody.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Else, Elite Neighbors, I think if he stays healthy, obviously,
- 47:27Speaker 2: I mean obviously, you know, you can't help the injuries
- 47:29Speaker 2: in the NFL. But like, if that Giants team stays healthy,
- 47:33Speaker 2: like even if they just lose one piece as you know,
- 47:35Speaker 2: opposed to the three that they lost, I definitely think
- 47:38Speaker 2: they make it, make at least a decently deep run.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Uh.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I was overing my you know, crossing my fingers and
- 47:51Speaker 2: hoping and praying that take they'll did not get clear
- 47:53Speaker 2: for that playoff game against Houston because I'm sitting here.
- 47:57Speaker 2: We get you know, he doesn't play, we lock up
- 47:59Speaker 2: at offense, and I'm sitting here. I had a bet
- 48:01Speaker 2: going that you know, they throw at least five picks,
- 48:04Speaker 2: and I think I was like one short that day
- 48:08Speaker 2: because Tank Dell is pretty pivotal to that Texans receiving game,
- 48:14Speaker 2: just like Maliite Neighbors is pretty pivotal to that Giants
- 48:16Speaker 2: offensive game as well. You know, you have Neighbors as
- 48:20Speaker 2: your wide receiver one, and you have Skataboo there. Skataboo
- 48:23Speaker 2: is just going to pretend to a telephone poul and
- 48:25Speaker 2: just run straight into you and hope to God that
- 48:26Speaker 2: you just fall over. I'm I would love to see it.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Even though I hate the Giants because they fucking robbed
- 48:34Speaker 2: us at two Super Bowls, I would love to see
- 48:37Speaker 2: what they can do with a young promising talent like Jackson, Dark,
- 48:41Speaker 2: Skataboo and Neighbors all healthy and all just absolutely balling
- 48:46Speaker 2: out on that line.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I stud also want to interject on the turf tol
- 48:51Speaker 3: de bit because there was a post I saw a
- 48:52Speaker 3: social media where Raiders majority owner Mark Davis actually complained
- 48:57Speaker 3: that grass fields are worse to maintaining they spell. You know,
- 49:00Speaker 3: you make these all comments on why turf is better,
- 49:02Speaker 3: and you know, being a majority owner of a team
- 49:05Speaker 3: and saying that turf's better, it kind of is speaking
- 49:07Speaker 3: a lot of volumes because with all these fields, especially
- 49:11Speaker 3: in the World Cups page where nobody got majorly injured
- 49:14Speaker 3: that was from of the turf, you know, it sucks,
- 49:18Speaker 3: and you know, seeing these people get injured never a
- 49:22Speaker 3: good thing. I've also been reporting on turf fields around
- 49:25Speaker 3: high schools and I will tell you right now, they're
- 49:28Speaker 3: not comfortable. And I can definitely see where the injuries
- 49:30Speaker 3: may come from, you know, because all the turf and the.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Spikes and such.
- 49:34Speaker 3: But you know, healthy neighbors would definitely elevate that Giants team.
- 49:38Speaker 3: But also you forgot to account for the fact that
- 49:40Speaker 3: they're again, they're rebuilding their structure because you know, Brian
- 49:44Speaker 3: Dable got fired head coach John and Harbaugh is now
- 49:48Speaker 3: in the team. And it's more than us the office
- 49:50Speaker 3: of developing. You know, neighbors definitely be a big assistance
- 49:53Speaker 3: for Jackson Dart but also the defenses of the developing
- 49:56Speaker 3: as well, where like abdul Carterner is finally showing himself,
- 49:59Speaker 3: you know from his he sees it and you know it.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Started with Russell Wilson.
- 50:04Speaker 3: But Jackson Dart, I actually do believe he can elevate
- 50:08Speaker 3: the Giants offense, especially with neighbors coming back.
- 50:11Speaker 2: I'll make a counterpoint to your comment about Mark Davis.
- 50:15Speaker 2: I do agree that you know, a GM speaking out
- 50:17Speaker 2: on one turf being you know, said a turf being
- 50:20Speaker 2: better to grass would be relevant. However, it's also important
- 50:23Speaker 2: to note that Mark Davis never played a fucking down
- 50:26Speaker 2: of football in his life. So at that same time,
- 50:30Speaker 2: you know, personal experience, I personally believe from the football
- 50:34Speaker 2: that I played throughout high school and college that grass
- 50:38Speaker 2: is better just because if you have, if you have
- 50:40Speaker 2: newer cleats that have new dootal game or at least
- 50:50Speaker 2: stay lisht and cleaned up, you know, and ready to
- 50:53Speaker 2: play on turf, that whenever you're trying to go out
- 50:57Speaker 2: and you're trying to make these quick things, if it's
- 51:00Speaker 2: in play or you're a receiver and you're turn around
- 51:03Speaker 2: and you're suddenly, you know, taking off from the slot
- 51:05Speaker 2: running as quick slant through the middle of the field,
- 51:08Speaker 2: it's better for your foot in the way that your
- 51:11Speaker 2: body works to know how to slide into that to
- 51:14Speaker 2: do that that quick little heel turn or an eight run,
- 51:23Speaker 2: a post route, anything of that nature, as far as
- 51:25Speaker 2: that your foot slides naturally on grass to where you
- 51:28Speaker 2: know how your body is going to turn and react
- 51:30Speaker 2: to your foot sliding. Whereas on astro turf, if you've
- 51:33Speaker 2: got brand new kleats that you turn around, you're planting
- 51:35Speaker 2: your foot that tries to make the same slide that
- 51:37Speaker 2: that foot is sticking. That foot is not going anywhere,
- 51:41Speaker 2: and suddenly you've got, however much you weigh as a receiver,
- 51:44Speaker 2: as a tied end, as deep anything, You've got your
- 51:48Speaker 2: one leg that's suddenly stuck in place while the rest
- 51:51Speaker 2: of your two two fifty three hundred pound body is
- 51:53Speaker 2: going in another direction entirely. So it's no wonder that
- 51:56Speaker 2: athletes are giving all these knee injuries and all this
- 51:58Speaker 2: fake turf.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely a problem with the with the fake
- 52:07Speaker 1: turf and the astro.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Turf and these artificial turfs.
- 52:10Speaker 4: Uh.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And honestly, from Mark Davis, I'll just say this, who
- 52:14Speaker 1: cares if the grass smells? You have fertilizer, You make
- 52:18Speaker 1: it smell better, You make it smell better.
- 52:24Speaker 2: It's just fucking ridiculous. Have you ever your law.
- 52:31Speaker 4: That is the definition of police touch?
- 52:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that is the that that is the definition of
- 52:39Speaker 1: Please touch grass.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Please touch that. Please get a new goddamn haircut.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Hey, look, that's staying to ruffle everybody watching, because I
- 52:47Speaker 3: know most of you don't even touch grass.
- 52:50Speaker 5: I mean I I I touch a little bit of
- 52:52Speaker 5: grass myself, So sore there is that.
- 52:55Speaker 1: But we're gonna end today gentlemen with the last of
- 53:02Speaker 1: our categories, which is five rookies to watch on ESPN,
- 53:08Speaker 1: and they list CJ. Allen of the Colts, Zachariah Branch
- 53:12Speaker 1: of the Falcons, Logan Jones of the Chicago Bears, Josiah
- 53:18Speaker 1: Trotter of the Buccaneers, and Jay Shawn Barham of the
- 53:23Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys.
- 53:29Speaker 6: Hm hmm, that's a that's an interesting list because honestly,
- 53:37Speaker 6: I'm more so this is this sounds kind of biased
- 53:40Speaker 6: to me because I really hate the Cowboys.
- 53:43Speaker 2: But one one, one rookie that I've been particularly wanting
- 53:46Speaker 2: to see is Caleb Downs. Uh. This this kid's been
- 53:53Speaker 2: regarded as someone who's in a state here and he's
- 53:55Speaker 2: gonna change how the Cowboys secondary looks from from the
- 53:59Speaker 2: first net like he's apparently he's been this big hype man,
- 54:02Speaker 2: you know, he's been like, Oh, this guy's gonna change.
- 54:04Speaker 4: This is our years.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Let me be the Cowboys all over again, just because of
- 54:07Speaker 2: this one kid. At the same time, you know, you
- 54:10Speaker 2: also have to realize this is a rookie being introduced
- 54:15Speaker 2: to the NFL. Like I I think the kids got
- 54:20Speaker 2: some big shoes to fill, Like as far listen through
- 54:29Speaker 2: you know, I just I understand that he's been he's
- 54:34Speaker 2: being seen as a premier defensive piece that's just ready
- 54:38Speaker 2: to play from the get go, like he came in
- 54:40Speaker 2: as pro ready. But they also said the same thing
- 54:44Speaker 2: about Dak Prescott, And yeah, Dak Prescott had a great
- 54:47Speaker 2: first year because people didn't really pay a lot of
- 54:51Speaker 2: attention to the tape that he had whenever he was
- 54:54Speaker 2: at Old Miss. But they took them one year, one season.
- 54:57Speaker 4: To figure Mississippi State.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry, Mississippi State. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry,
- 55:04Speaker 2: my apologies.
- 55:09Speaker 4: What are you doing.
- 55:10Speaker 2: You're upsetting the Mississippians. Oh, sorry to slander the great
- 55:14Speaker 2: state in Mississippi. But it's at the end of the day,
- 55:19Speaker 2: it's a rookie that's being introduced to the professional level
- 55:23Speaker 2: at a high level, and it's it's really just going
- 55:27Speaker 2: to depend on what the Dallas Cowboys strength of schedule
- 55:30Speaker 2: is for the twenty twenty sixth season as well, which
- 55:33Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken, I think they have one of
- 55:37Speaker 2: the top five toughest schedules in the league. So his
- 55:40Speaker 2: his knowledge, his football IQ is really going to be
- 55:42Speaker 2: tested early on in the season.
- 55:45Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't even improve that Cowboys defense. I mean,
- 55:47Speaker 3: you can only get better from worse, but at least
- 55:50Speaker 3: with that Cowboys defense.
- 55:51Speaker 4: You know, I mean we've seen the mid rounders, you.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Know, any improvement for that Cowboys defense is any improvement,
- 55:57Speaker 3: you know in general, because you got you gotta moving
- 56:00Speaker 3: from the bottom at the table to get towards like
- 56:03Speaker 3: at least hirer than thirty second. That's always gonna be
- 56:06Speaker 3: a constellation. And you know, a person like Kalo Downs
- 56:09Speaker 3: is gonna help that immediately. But I think a lot
- 56:12Speaker 3: of the responsibility does also come down to how the
- 56:15Speaker 3: Dallas Cowboys organization develops these defensive players, and they are
- 56:19Speaker 3: a team to look out for if, of course their
- 56:21Speaker 3: defense can be improved.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Yeah, their defense is definitely a little suspect. And I
- 56:30Speaker 1: kind of agree with you Brandon that it would be
- 56:33Speaker 1: interesting to see how Caleb Downs plays, because from what
- 56:36Speaker 1: I was told, Caleb Downs.
- 56:38Speaker 5: Is just a really good safety.
- 56:43Speaker 1: So it'll be interesting to see how he transitions to
- 56:46Speaker 1: the NFL and how the NFL participates. At least for
- 56:52Speaker 1: my vantage point, and again this might be a little
- 56:55Speaker 1: bit of the bias coming out here, but I really
- 56:59Speaker 1: want to see how the Zachariah Branch kid plays for
- 57:02Speaker 1: Atlanta because the way that he has been touted and
- 57:08Speaker 1: from a couple of the clips that I've seen of
- 57:11Speaker 1: him in like mini camp and then just seeing him
- 57:14Speaker 1: play at the University of Georgia, does he not remind
- 57:19Speaker 1: you guys a little bit of a kid that Atlanta
- 57:22Speaker 1: had about ten years ago named Taylor Gabriel in the
- 57:26Speaker 1: sense that he is he is fast, and he can
- 57:31Speaker 1: just turn those jets on when he gets the ball
- 57:34Speaker 1: in his hand.
- 57:35Speaker 3: I mean, if it's any constellation, a great receiver like
- 57:38Speaker 3: that definitely adds on to the power. As he said
- 57:41Speaker 3: earlier about Michael Pennix and his touch pass and if
- 57:45Speaker 3: he could at least be a great route runner or
- 57:48Speaker 3: be that speechter that you know Pax or Taga Viola
- 57:51Speaker 3: can utilize, and that is an additional weapon alongside Kyle
- 57:54Speaker 3: Pitts Drake London.
- 57:56Speaker 4: And it's just gonna element that offense as a whole.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I mean, it's definitely gonna elevate offense more as a whole,
- 58:04Speaker 1: because when you think about Atlanta's offense, who do Atlanta
- 58:08Speaker 1: really have at the receiver and tight end position that
- 58:12Speaker 1: is a screen pass and in all fairness, if you
- 58:17Speaker 1: watched how Atlanta did screen passes last year, you wanted
- 58:20Speaker 1: to throw a screen pass up a screen door.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's one of my.
- 58:32Speaker 1: I mean it definitely was one way. Yeah, definitely one
- 58:36Speaker 1: way to put it there. So I honestly want to
- 58:39Speaker 1: see how Zachariah Branch plays in this offense. And honestly,
- 58:44Speaker 1: I couldn't even believe that he reminded me of Taylor Gabriel.
- 58:48Speaker 1: And I mean Taylor Gabriel was a real good receiver for.
- 58:52Speaker 5: What his role was on the team.
- 58:54Speaker 1: So that'll be an interesting wait and see with this offense.
- 59:00Speaker 1: But Brandon take us home. Who do you think is
- 59:04Speaker 1: one of those five rookies to watch?
- 59:07Speaker 2: Give me the list again? I got a little got
- 59:09Speaker 2: off on a little bit of a tangent.
- 59:11Speaker 1: CJ Allen, Zachariah Branch, Logan Jones, Josiah Trotter, Jay, Shawn Barham.
- 59:20Speaker 2: C J Allen. I think is one that's going to
- 59:21Speaker 2: stick out to me the most because Indy has already
- 59:26Speaker 2: had a really good season, very surprisingly, So Daniel Jones
- 59:31Speaker 2: really impressed me being on a new team that I got.
- 59:36Speaker 4: To recheck here. You said he had a good season
- 59:38Speaker 4: when he lost seven in a row.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Come on, now, I mean, let's be fair. I mean,
- 59:43Speaker 2: Daniel Jones got hurt somewhere in the seven game.
- 59:47Speaker 5: And he's he's right in old.
- 59:49Speaker 1: I mean, it was so bad they had to call
- 59:50Speaker 1: Philip Rivers to come out of taking care of his fifteen.
- 59:55Speaker 3: Still understand that Saint Sichen and Chris Bower are still
- 59:58Speaker 3: in hot seats.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I mean, let's face with, every team want every team
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: wants their coaching staff on the hot seat that they
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: so much just lose one game. I mean, do we
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: have to pull a Philadelphia Eagles here?
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: No, No, not at all. I just the point where
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: I was going with mine is Indy had established themselves,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: do you know, have a promising offense early on in
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: that season? Like they genuinely looked like a team to
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: be feared up until they lost those seven games in
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: a row and eventually losing Daniel Jones along the way there.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: So it's just a matter of, again to touch on
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: an earlier topic, the matter of that offensive line. Can
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: their offensive line, you know, is it sturdy enough to
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: support protecting Daniel Jones keeping him from getting hurt again?
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Is it good enough, you know, to hold up while
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: he could sit there and improve his own pocket presence,
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: in his own little, you know, internal clock. To involve
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: a rookie rist in a brand new play style, I
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: think that's going to be the most exciting thing for
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: me personally, Even though I usually watch a lot of
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: defensive players. I would really like to see where Indy
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: goes with DJ at the helm of.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Things, especially because I forget which receiver.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: Would agree with that I definitely want.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: Oh sorry, now.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I mean it'll be interesting to see how the Colts
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: play this year. I mean it'll be interest to see
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: how every team plays this year. And we're only in
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the pre training camp phase of the of just anything NFL,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: so as it gets closer, I think it'll be easier
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: for us to make predictions and get information about all
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: the teams in the NFL and maybe make uh customized
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: predictions as to which teams will win their divisions, at,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: which teams will make the playoffs, and why the Jets
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: will win the AFCs.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Oh my god, I'm oh my god, I'm why am
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: I smoking the hopium right now?
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Look? I'm calling in a welfare check for you right now. Please.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: That's like the most unrealistic thing you possibly dike it
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: the Jets right now.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: But in all fairness, it could, it could ruffle some
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: feathers because I'm making Jet fans think that they can
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: win their division.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Jets fans had a better chance of winning any sort
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: of division rivalry when Aaron Rodgers was a quarterback, before
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: he took his first.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Snap, does does does that?
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: That's like a little like four minutes of glory before
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: he tore his Please that.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Highlight, their introductions, the highlight running out with the American flag,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: and then that that that that is like the best
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: highlight reel of all highlight reels. But with that, ladies
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: and gentlemen, that is going to be the end of
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: episode one of the Ruffling the Feathers Podcast. We look
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: forward to coming back with more topics for you guys.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: And more ways to really.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Ruffle your guys' feathers and make you want to pelt
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: us with tomatoes and every other thing that you can
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: pelt a person who pisses you off with. But until
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: next time, stay frosty.
