- 0:00Speaker 1: We be here live from Rouse's on Burbank and Lee,
- 0:06Speaker 1: Jake Flynn and Cassie here at Rouse's. Luke and Tay-Tay
- 0:10Speaker 1: holding it down back in downtown Baton.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Rouge in the Raising Canes studio.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It is a football Friday. A lot to get to here.
- 0:20Speaker 2: How we doing, sir?
- 0:21Speaker 3: Hey, good morning. We're doing great. Friday, ready to roll.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Hurricane watch. All the things.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It's a big coffee there for you, bud.
- 0:30Speaker 3: That's the same size I get every day. Nah. Nah,
- 0:33Speaker 3: just big to you. Maybe you're shrinking.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Maybe so. I am getting older. You know how that goes.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The older you get, the smaller you get.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Actually, I don't because you're older than me.
- 0:41Speaker 2: That's fair. I don't have a rebuttal to that. Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 4: No, everything's good, buddy. You know, just looking forward to
- 0:50Speaker 4: the weekend. Got the fam.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Fall break.
- 0:53Speaker 4: How about you? Are you all fall break right now?
- 0:55Speaker 2: I think for the way I think. That it goes
- 0:58Speaker 2: for us.
- 0:58Speaker 1: It's almost like middle school, high school gets like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and then Memphis gets all week in elementary school.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I think that's how it works.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah, because why wouldn't they get the whole week, you know?
- 1:08Speaker 3: I mean, what are you really learning?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Three times three, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Actually, you know, we know they learn a lot. Thank
- 1:18Speaker 4: you teachers out there. Y'all are the best. You got
- 1:21Speaker 4: to have a foundation, you know?
- 1:22Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:23Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 1:24Speaker 3: But, no, everybody's good.
- 1:26Speaker 4: They were going to actually, Lacey and the kiddos were
- 1:30Speaker 4: going to head to Florida for the weekend.
- 1:34Speaker 3: You know, the panhandle. Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Something going on there?
- 1:38Speaker 3: Something going on.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Something's happening over there. And hopefully everybody stays safe over there. But, yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 4: but they're going to stay here.
- 1:46Speaker 3: So we're hanging out. So I'm very excited about that.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Hurricane party? I mean, you've been known to throw one
- 1:51Speaker 2: of those.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Okay. Sure. Sure. Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 4: 20 years ago. But good hurricane parties.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 4: You know, if we threw a party, we were not
- 2:01Speaker 4: going to just half-step into it.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Right. We were going to do it the right way.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So you could throw a hurricane party slash Kentucky watch party.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Although I don't know that anybody wants to watch the
- 2:13Speaker 2: game with you.
- 2:14Speaker 4: No, they don't want to watch the game with me,
- 2:16Speaker 4: and I don't want to watch the game with you.
- 2:18Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 2:20Speaker 1: How are you going to stand six inches away from
- 2:22Speaker 1: the TV if somebody's there watching with you?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:25Speaker 4: How am I going to, like, I can't punch every
- 2:28Speaker 4: square inch of air in my room without, if you're there.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Because then you take up air space that I can punch.
- 2:37Speaker 2: And you might yell at Joe Sloan again.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I might. You don't know.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Like, I yelled at him for bad things last year. And, like,
- 2:44Speaker 4: you know, I've seen some decent creative stuff on their
- 2:48Speaker 4: offense this year.
- 2:49Speaker 3: So, it's infuriating.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 3: You know?
- 2:54Speaker 1: Probably not as infuriating as it is to be a
- 2:57Speaker 1: Cowboys fan today.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Like somebody back in the studio. He can't be excited
- 3:02Speaker 1: about that.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He's punching air right now.
- 3:05Speaker 3: He might be front kicking air.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Brownhouse kick to the air.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Surely the Dallas Cowboys.
- 3:13Speaker 1: At home against a winless team and an undrafted free
- 3:16Speaker 1: agent quarterback in his second start, surely the Cowboys won, right?
- 3:20Speaker 4: Wait, they didn't have their starting quarterback?
- 3:22Speaker 1: No, they had Jalen Daniels, not to be confused with
- 3:25Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Holy cow.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so surely the Cowboys won that, right?
- 3:29Speaker 4: They had to have crushed him because I put, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 4: I graciously added Dak to my top ten quarterbacks list.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I was throwing Taylor Bone with that one, and then...
- 3:42Speaker 3: They go and pull this. Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So the Dallas Cowboys lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- 3:48Speaker 1: 24 to 16 last night. The Buccaneers get their first
- 3:52Speaker 1: win of the season. Jalen Daniels had a heck of
- 3:56Speaker 1: a night. He was 19 of 25, 189 yards, a touchdown,
- 4:00Speaker 1: no interceptions, only takes one sack.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Now, the reason they won the game.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Is because they ran the football 39 times for 241 yards, 6.2
- 4:10Speaker 1: yards per carry. But still, I loved the game plan
- 4:14Speaker 1: from Zach Robinson, the OC for the Buccaneers. I thought
- 4:18Speaker 1: he protected a young quarterback, gave him plays to be successful,
- 4:21Speaker 1: put him on the move a little bit. It reminded
- 4:24Speaker 1: me kind of of what we watched with Kentucky. Like
- 4:27Speaker 1: in their film breakdown, a lot of misdirection, a ton of,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you know, faking outside zone to the left, one guy
- 4:35Speaker 1: coming underneath to the right and making an easy throw,
- 4:38Speaker 1: give a run pass option once you get out there
- 4:40Speaker 1: for Jalen Daniels. I mean, it was not your typical
- 4:45Speaker 1: NFL game plan, but for, again, a undrafted free agent
- 4:48Speaker 1: rookie quarterback, I actually thought it was a really good plan.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And if you can run the football, like you can
- 4:54Speaker 1: have a plan like that for your quarterback.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Bucky Irving, 21 carries, 165 yards. added a touchdown
- 5:01Speaker 4: to that. That's nearly eight yards per carry in the
- 5:04Speaker 4: National Football League. That's embarrassing for the Cowboys. But it's
- 5:09Speaker 4: nice to see Bucky have a good game. Nice to
- 5:11Speaker 4: see for a couple of You know, old card collectors
- 5:14Speaker 4: over here as well.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I know you're sitting on a couple of nice ones.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So a Bucky's.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I got a couple of Bucky.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I got a couple of Bucky's for sure. So a
- 5:23Speaker 3: couple of autos.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I think everybody's got a couple of Bucky Irving autos.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah, they're flying around a little bit. They were flying
- 5:28Speaker 3: around a little bit.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It says Bucky on it. Literally, that's how he sounds.
- 5:33Speaker 3: But yeah, Jalen Daniels.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I mean, it looked like it looked like he, you know,
- 5:37Speaker 4: played a decent game. I can't remember exactly how much
- 5:39Speaker 4: time was left, but there wasn't a lot of time
- 5:42Speaker 4: left in the game that he threw what would have
- 5:44Speaker 4: been just an absolute.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Walk-in pick six. Yeah. The guy dropped it. Yeah. The
- 5:49Speaker 3: guy looked like two left feet on his hands. Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 2: You know those, like, wooden clogs that, like, Europeans, Germans maybe? Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Is it? Isn't that weird? Maybe.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Either way, somewhere over there.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Somewhere.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It felt like he had those as his gloves. Yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 2: for sure.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Clogs.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, wasn't great. I love watching the– I mean, sorry, Tay-Tay.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I mean, nobody here is going to feel bad.
- 6:19Speaker 4: No, no, it's fun. It's always fun. Jerry Jones did
- 6:24Speaker 4: the Brian Kelly fist stomp, fist pound on the table
- 6:29Speaker 4: in front of him.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 4: You know, that guy's crazy. He might just fire everybody,
- 6:34Speaker 4: trade everybody. Just like they trade.
- 6:37Speaker 1: They traded for Joey Porter Jr. They gave her like
- 6:40Speaker 1: two picks, including a second round pick. And he missed
- 6:42Speaker 1: the game because he was sick.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Oh, he's sick. Yeah. They have a cold illness.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And then it's just somebody like walking around with him
- 6:53Speaker 2: with a trash can.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. Carry your own trash can.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I was thinking, what are you doing here?
- 6:59Speaker 4: I mean, they got things they can they can they
- 7:01Speaker 4: can throw needles in you. They can get you feeling
- 7:03Speaker 4: better at least for three hours.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I think last night's game, too, is another example of
- 7:09Speaker 1: we don't know what in the hell is going on
- 7:11Speaker 1: in the NFL.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I guess. I guess.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I mean, outside of like four teams. Right. I would
- 7:19Speaker 2: say Kansas City, Jacksonville, San Francisco.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I mean, so maybe what we've seen so far through four.
- 7:28Speaker 4: But this is, you know, kind of that point in
- 7:32Speaker 4: the season where. You think you know, but you're going
- 7:35Speaker 4: to get surprised. Somebody's going to turn it around. That's
- 7:41Speaker 4: why the NFL is so much fun.
- 7:43Speaker 3: But it is.
- 7:45Speaker 4: It's a long season. I know we say that a lot.
- 7:47Speaker 4: It's 17 games. So teams are going to lay stinkers.
- 7:51Speaker 4: The Cowboys certainly laid a stinker last night.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah. They were an eight and a half point favorite.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Lost by eight. Vegas, you're dumb.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Vegas has not been great with the NFL this year.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Vegas hadn't been great on either one, I feel like.
- 8:08Speaker 2: NFL, they've had some bad business.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But it's early in the year.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I feel like early in the season, in all leagues,
- 8:14Speaker 4: is the time you can get Vegas. Then they started
- 8:16Speaker 4: to real sharpen their pencils. I don't know how they
- 8:20Speaker 4: get a feel for it, and we don't.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I don't know, but they've had a couple where they've
- 8:26Speaker 1: been off by 20.
- 8:28Speaker 4: A 12-point favorite is lost by eight. Yeah, well, my
- 8:31Speaker 4: pick from Florida this past week.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Five and a half, yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Five and a half. They lost by, what, 30?
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Was it two weeks ago? It was last week.
- 8:38Speaker 2: There's no way that was just last week.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I know.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It feels like it's zero chance. It actually feels like
- 8:42Speaker 4: it's been a long time since we've been at Rouse's.
- 8:45Speaker 4: It's been exactly a week.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Because we're here every football Friday.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Oh, look at my guy right now.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Already?
- 8:52Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Cutting up some.
- 8:53Speaker 2: In the lab with a pen and a pad?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Oh, he's in the lab for sure. I think he's
- 8:57Speaker 3: getting out that crab. All right. I'll see you.
- 9:00Speaker 2: As long as it's ready for the 9 a.m. sushi.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. He'll be ready. Okay. He's always ready.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Because as I get ready to do, you know, what's
- 9:09Speaker 2: the ticket? Slam a sushi roll.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Absolutely. Salmon roll? Probably. Yeah. I had a little sushi
- 9:16Speaker 3: last night. Took the team. It's a little hibachi last night.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Is the team, like, your family?
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yeah, Team Flynn. Okay. Team of five.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I didn't know if you brought the my hike.
- 9:26Speaker 3: We were some friends. We went and got a little....
- 9:30Speaker 4: We got a little hibachi last night. Guess who we
- 9:33Speaker 4: ran into? It's all the offensive line.
- 9:39Speaker 2: The entire offensive line?
- 9:40Speaker 3: It was a.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Decent amount of them. They were putting down some groceries
- 9:42Speaker 4: last night.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Did I see that the offensive line was with John
- 9:46Speaker 1: Bones Jones last night?
- 9:49Speaker 2: The UFC fighter? I swear I saw a picture where
- 9:52Speaker 2: I think.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Jake.
- 9:54Speaker 4: He's in Baton Rouge for a meet and greet today.
- 9:56Speaker 3: He's in Baton Rouge for a meet and greet today. Okay.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So you could have met John Bones Jones, buddy.
- 10:03Speaker 3: No, he wasn't there. He wasn't eating hibachi. I'm pretty
- 10:06Speaker 3: sure he was. He was not eating hibachi. I'm going
- 10:09Speaker 3: to show you a picture.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It's going to blow your mind, and you're going to
- 10:11Speaker 1: be mad that you didn't test John Bones Jones.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Like, you got to, you know, call him out a
- 10:16Speaker 2: little bit.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, give him one of these.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Give him a flinch.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Tell Huck to hold me back. Yeah. Yeah, I could
- 10:21Speaker 3: be my get-bad guy with John Buckingham. Yeah, for sure. No,
- 10:25Speaker 3: he wasn't there. He wasn't even about you. All right, well,
- 10:28Speaker 3: we'll prove that he was. I can see it in
- 10:33Speaker 3: their eyes. They were ready.
- 10:34Speaker 2: They were ready to go. Did you say what's up
- 10:36Speaker 2: to them?
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah. What's up, boys? What's up?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Don't know if you know this.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I actually was like, y'all do.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I used to touch a sinner's butt back in 2007.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Who's a sinner? Who's a sinner? Get your butt touched? Nope,
- 10:48Speaker 4: you don't. Because you got clap counts. These centers don't
- 10:52Speaker 4: even know the hardships of getting their butt cracks touched.
- 10:57Speaker 4: They really don't.
- 11:01Speaker 2: That part they're probably not too upset by.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess so. But, no, I did.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I love it like T-Bob did.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I wanted to know because, you know, in professional football,
- 11:12Speaker 4: when you get to that next level, there's a certain situation,
- 11:15Speaker 4: there's a certain game. That comes with the territory when
- 11:21Speaker 4: you go eat with your teammates, especially a big group
- 11:24Speaker 4: of them. And I asked them if they were playing
- 11:26Speaker 4: that game because they're all getting paid, right? I asked
- 11:29Speaker 4: them if they were playing credit card roulette. They didn't
- 11:33Speaker 4: pay it, but it did seem like there was a
- 11:36Speaker 4: one guy offering to pay, others a Venmo situation.
- 11:39Speaker 3: That's the way to go because you get the points. Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 3: You get the credit card points. Smart. But.
- 11:45Speaker 1: There's nothing as thrilling and nauseating as a big credit
- 11:49Speaker 1: card roulette.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Oh, it's a big deal. Is it dead? No, I
- 11:55Speaker 3: don't know if it's reached the college ranks yet. Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Well, they make as much money as some of us
- 12:00Speaker 1: in the NFL.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Some of them do. Some of them do.
- 12:02Speaker 2: More than I did.
- 12:03Speaker 4: It was always fun when the rookie got caught with
- 12:07Speaker 4: it on the rookie deal, and you got about five
- 12:10Speaker 4: vets in that offensive line room.
- 12:12Speaker 1: There's nothing worse, though, when your card is the one
- 12:15Speaker 1: that's going to get swiped, and you look across and
- 12:17Speaker 1: you're like, you make like $ 40 million.
- 12:20Speaker 2: A year, and you're letting me pay for your food.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm up here making bare minimum, league minimum.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 3: You got to pay your dues, Rook.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I did.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I lost twice that rookie year.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I lost one time, but it wasn't a huge one. Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I played a lot, though. I was in there. I
- 12:40Speaker 3: was willing. Just luck of the draw.
- 12:44Speaker 4: For those of y'all who don't know, everybody puts their
- 12:48Speaker 4: credit card in a hat.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Usually you get the waiter or waitress to come over.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Were you last one in? We were last one in.
- 12:55Speaker 4: So you start pulling credit cards out, and if you
- 12:57Speaker 4: take one out, you're safe. The last one in the
- 13:00Speaker 4: hat has to pay for the whole thing. Some people
- 13:02Speaker 4: paid the first one out.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I don't like that. It takes away the excitement. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 2: it's more excitement.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Anyway, they didn't do that.
- 13:10Speaker 2: You didn't pay for the offensive line?
- 13:11Speaker 3: No. That was a lot of groceries going down. That's true.
- 13:15Speaker 2: They probably make more than you do, so.
- 13:17Speaker 3: For sure. All right.
- 13:19Speaker 1: We will take a break. Take a look at what
- 13:21Speaker 1: we've got. The slate in college football. The slate in
- 13:24Speaker 1: the NFL. We've got what's the ticket. We've got our
- 13:27Speaker 1: pontoon parlay. LSU played basketball last night.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Didn't count, but they played. Had enough players.
- 13:34Speaker 3: We've got a team.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Got a team and everything. That's where Alondra's at today.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Her and Hunt. Uniforms.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Did the show yesterday, went to the game, and still
- 13:41Speaker 1: hanging out there in Lake Chuck. Got uniforms, purple ones.
- 13:45Speaker 1: So we'll break all of that down when we come
- 13:47Speaker 1: back here. It is OTB Live from Ross's.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Off the bench. Off the bench.
- 13:54Speaker 1: All right, go to First American Bank and Trust, FABT.com, FABT.com.

- 14:21Speaker 1: with Anything that any national bank is going to be
- 14:23Speaker 1: able to offer you as well.

- 16:27Speaker 1: went to the game so Maybe get a little bit
- 16:29Speaker 1: more of a breakdown once Alondra gets back. Just a
- 16:32Speaker 1: feel of being in the building. But look, obviously a
- 16:37Speaker 1: team that Will Wade knows very well in McNeese and
- 16:40Speaker 1: Bill Armstrong, the coach for McNeese, longtime assistant here at
- 16:44Speaker 1: LSU with Will Wade.
- 16:46Speaker 2: So, you know, it's a scrimmage. It's an exhibition.
- 16:50Speaker 1: But, you know, McNeese has certainly since Will gotten there,
- 16:53Speaker 1: they have turned their basketball program completely around and, We
- 16:59Speaker 1: were wondering, all right, what's LSU's basketball team going to
- 17:01Speaker 1: look like?
- 17:02Speaker 2: And look, they had a whole team.
- 17:04Speaker 3: There's more than five, too. They did. They had backups
- 17:06Speaker 3: and everything.
- 17:07Speaker 2: They did.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So they get the win 63-60, and LSU's going to
- 17:12Speaker 1: have its second exhibition game on Wednesday coming up at
- 17:16Speaker 1: 7 p.m. This one's going to be in the PMAC
- 17:19Speaker 1: against UCF. Now, admission to that game is absolutely free.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The game will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio
- 17:26Speaker 1: Network and streamed on SEC Network Plus.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:34Speaker 2: You know, hey, get a win.
- 17:36Speaker 3: So, did it look like that place was rocking a
- 17:38Speaker 3: little bit last night?
- 17:39Speaker 2: It was kind of full.
- 17:40Speaker 3: All right.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Sweet.
- 17:40Speaker 3: It looked great.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Obviously, you know, Will coming back to McNeese, LSU coming
- 17:44Speaker 2: to town. It's an exhibition.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But, hey, people pay to go to preseason NFL games,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and so why not show up?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Look like a good atmosphere.
- 17:51Speaker 3: All right. Heck yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Like LSU basketball.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I saw a clip of Lil Wade waving everybody, doing
- 17:59Speaker 3: one of these things.
- 18:01Speaker 2: The soccer? Yeah, like the soccer.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Like, thank you, bro. Going out. No doubt. No doubt.
- 18:09Speaker 1: And it comes on the heels after LSU did, you know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: get his first five-star commitment in King Gibson. So some
- 18:18Speaker 1: positive momentum for the LSU men's basketball team.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Now, commitment doesn't mean signing. We've been here before.
- 18:27Speaker 1: That's why we don't talk a lot about commitments here
- 18:29Speaker 1: on this show. But, again, some positive momentum for LSU. And, look,
- 18:33Speaker 1: King is an objectively awesome name. So, King Gibson.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that is a really nice name.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Again, just need you to sign before, like, we really
- 18:44Speaker 1: do a deep dive into you.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, no, we're not going to do much of a bio.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Watch the high school film just for a commitment. just
- 18:55Speaker 4: not gonna.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Do again that next exhibition game is going to be
- 19:00Speaker 1: Wednesday 7 p.m inside the PMAC against UCF a mission
- 19:05Speaker 1: to that game is free so go check out your
- 19:07Speaker 1: LSU basketball.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Tigers I look well Wade made some pretty funny comments
- 19:12Speaker 4: recently I thought they were kind of funny I thought
- 19:13Speaker 4: they were hilarious I thought I mean I'm sure nobody
- 19:15Speaker 4: else did outside LSU but like you know everybody it's
- 19:20Speaker 4: it's like the comment it's the joke that we've said
- 19:22Speaker 4: for a while like you know in passing just it's
- 19:26Speaker 4: fun to hear the coach say it you know he's
- 19:28Speaker 4: ahead of his time.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah said nil stands for now it's legal.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Yep and we all know it's funny.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Because it's true yeah i never got offered i know
- 19:40Speaker 4: i just i will look for it too i mean
- 19:42Speaker 4: like hey i tried to get paid illegally.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I'm going to turn you.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Down because I don't want to mess things up.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Don't you Boy Scout me right now.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I don't want to mess things up here.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Don't you act like a Boy Scout right now. You
- 19:56Speaker 4: would have accepted that.
- 19:57Speaker 3: $ 100 handshake.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Oh, we're talking like that small. Yeah. I mean, I
- 20:01Speaker 2: just didn't want to be an idiot and get kicked out.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I told you, I had to go to compliance one
- 20:07Speaker 1: time because my uncle bought me groceries. My literal, my
- 20:11Speaker 1: dad's blood brother bought me groceries and I had to
- 20:15Speaker 1: go to compliance for it.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And, like, basically proved that this person was blood.
- 20:22Speaker 4: We can't confirm nor deny that those things happened.
- 20:26Speaker 3: They just didn't happen with us. We can confirm that.
- 20:29Speaker 4: We can absolutely 100% confirm that.
- 20:33Speaker 1: If somebody threw me a free meal in college, which was, like, twice.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I was, like, walking on clouds that day.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Yep. Yep.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Your boy until, let's call it like it is, until, like,
- 20:49Speaker 4: until at least I had one start in the Peach Bowl.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Before that, when I'd go to the bar.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Couldn't really afford to drink anything so i just asked
- 21:02Speaker 4: i would just grab a straw yeah just kind of
- 21:05Speaker 4: walk around and chat it up with people and still
- 21:08Speaker 4: our drinks put in their drinks yeah i wish he
- 21:11Speaker 4: was kidding folks no that was my move that was
- 21:15Speaker 4: my move.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Yeah that everybody saw coming from a mile away and
- 21:18Speaker 1: oh here's flynn coming with his straw again.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Yeah yeah smart though if you think about it.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Kind of nasty if you also think about it. Why?
- 21:27Speaker 4: I don't like lick one end of it and use that.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I'm putting my mouth on the same end. The other
- 21:38Speaker 4: end's going in fresh liquid. Oh, that was very sanitary
- 21:44Speaker 4: and a good idea and all I could afford.
- 21:48Speaker 2: That part of it. Yes.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 2: That part of it, yes.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Straws are free. Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 2: You can only have so many Jaeger bombs, too.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Just got chills.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm sorry.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Everybody, like, probably 38 to 45 that's in their car
- 22:04Speaker 1: right now in carpool just had chills go right down
- 22:07Speaker 1: their spine, and I apologize.
- 22:08Speaker 3: The hair on the back of your neck just stood up.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I do apologize for that because you tasted it. You
- 22:13Speaker 2: felt it.
- 22:13Speaker 3: You know it is. You smelled it. You're tasting it
- 22:15Speaker 3: right now.
- 22:15Speaker 2: You smelled it, too.
- 22:16Speaker 3: You're smelling it right now, for sure.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It's my bad. It's on me.
- 22:20Speaker 4: And then those bars that couldn't afford the actual Red Bull,
- 22:24Speaker 4: so they had, like, the neon green ones. energy drink
- 22:27Speaker 4: that was on the spout.
- 22:29Speaker 2: You ever seen the movie Role Models?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a while. I don't know if I
- 22:34Speaker 3: could be able to quote it.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I could, and Taylor could, but I'm
- 22:38Speaker 2: not asking you to quote it.
- 22:39Speaker 3: That's where they do the medieval things? Yes, LARP.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You remember the very opening scene where they're selling energy
- 22:46Speaker 1: drinks and they're in the truck that's basically like a
- 22:50Speaker 1: bull's horn on it?
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 2: That's the energy drink that you were drinking at Reggie's.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Yep, that was the one when they got a little
- 22:55Speaker 4: cheap Yeah. They couldn't get the they couldn't give you wings.
- 23:00Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Fred's bogeys. They gave you wings.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Sometimes.
- 23:06Speaker 2: No, I did not.
- 23:07Speaker 4: And it was on the it was on the spout, too,
- 23:10Speaker 4: because I made so many of them.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Yeah. All right.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Again, my apologies if you're of a certain age. And
- 23:15Speaker 1: I said that. And, well, you felt it.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It's on me. All right, we'll reset. We'll take a break.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And when we come back, that's when we're going to
- 23:23Speaker 2: dive into the– we'll go into the SEC.
- 23:25Speaker 3: We'll go around.
- 23:26Speaker 1: There's like two or three other games outside of the
- 23:28Speaker 1: SEC that move the needle a bit.
- 23:30Speaker 2: We'll have that for you when we come back here.
- 23:32Speaker 1: It is OTB Live from Rouse's on Burbank and Lee.

- 23:56Speaker 3: They got you.

- 24:01Speaker 2: know that?

- 25:03Speaker 2: the Bench.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Back in OTB, live from Rouse's here on Burbank and Lee. Jake, Flynn,
- 25:43Speaker 1: Cassie here. We got Luke and Tay-Tay back in the
- 25:47Speaker 1: Raising Cane studio.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Let's take a look at some of the games in
- 25:51Speaker 2: college football.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Let's go across the top 25 here in games that, well,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I have somewhat.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Of a pulse. Okay. Somewhat of a pulse. I love that.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Can't wait.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Number seven, Indiana at unranked Nebraska. Undefeated Nebraska.
- 26:11Speaker 3: That is true.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Undefeated Nebraska.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Indiana has seven and a half point favorite in that game.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You've got Texas A & M, as we know, three
- 26:22Speaker 1: and two on the year, traveling to Como to take
- 26:25Speaker 1: on number 14, Missouri. You've got your team, Unc, traveling
- 26:31Speaker 1: to Pittsburgh to take on the undefeated Pitt Panthers at 5-0.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Let's get this.
- 26:38Speaker 1: South Carolina traveling to number 16, Florida. Florida right now
- 26:43Speaker 1: an 11.5-point favorite. We've got Red River there in the
- 26:47Speaker 1: Cotton Bowl. The old rivalry game between Texas and Oklahoma.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Number one, Texas. Unranked Oklahoma, Texas, a 7.5-point favorite.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Well, they are expecting points, points, points in that one.
- 27:00Speaker 2: 39.5 is the total.
- 27:02Speaker 3: 39.5 is the over-under. Holy cow.
- 27:06Speaker 4: I thought there were supposed to be two Heisman contenders.
- 27:09Speaker 4: That quarterback for that game. Well, they've been bad, both
- 27:12Speaker 4: of them.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Well, yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Well, Mateer's been bad. Arch just hadn't been asked to
- 27:16Speaker 4: do a whole lot. Yeah, Arch hadn't had to do much.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I mean, when he did, they did beat Ohio State
- 27:23Speaker 4: on a comeback. But Ohio State, you know, they blew
- 27:25Speaker 4: that one, let's be honest.
- 27:29Speaker 3: They did. Ryan Day. That was a bad look.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Number nine, Ole Miss traveling to Vanderbilt. Minus nine and
- 27:36Speaker 1: a half in favor of the Ole Miss Rebels. You've
- 27:40Speaker 1: got UCLA, number 21 UCLA, traveling to number 13 Oregon.
- 27:45Speaker 1: UCLA undefeated. Oregon, though, 11 and a half point favorite
- 27:49Speaker 1: in that game. Ohio State with another tough game against
- 27:53Speaker 1: two and three Maryland.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Let's go back to the Oregon-UCLA game.
- 28:01Speaker 2: You don't want to go Maryland-Ohio State?
- 28:03Speaker 3: No.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Wake up, Cassie.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Number 13 Oregon.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Versus 21 ucla oregon i know it's at home but
- 28:14Speaker 4: 11 and a half point favorite yep seems extreme for
- 28:18Speaker 4: me oregon's not that i mean they're good but are
- 28:22Speaker 4: they that good lost to oklahoma state 39 31 barely
- 28:31Speaker 4: squeaked by boise state i don't know Are you.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Saying we could hear that a little bit later.
- 28:37Speaker 3: On in the show?
- 28:37Speaker 4: No, I'm thinking about it because, you know, I'm about
- 28:40Speaker 4: to go on a win streak.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I'm about to get hot. Don't you last three or four?
- 28:45Speaker 3: It might be all of them. It might be. I
- 28:47Speaker 3: don't know.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Remember, remember, remember this week, with your mind, not your heart.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Well, I was trying to go with my mind every week.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Y'all wouldn't let me last week. All right, do you then?
- 29:00Speaker 2: I wouldn't, you know.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Who's Notre Dame playing?
- 29:03Speaker 2: Stanford.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Probably taking them.
- 29:07Speaker 2: So never mind notre dame's 38 and a half point favorite.
- 29:09Speaker 3: That's a lot of points guys we'll see we'll see i.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Gotta think about it uh of course number 10 lsu
- 29:16Speaker 1: against kentucky that's a game in which we'll talk about
- 29:19Speaker 1: multiple times today uh we've got i mean gosh this
- 29:24Speaker 1: is number 19 usc traveling to penn state penn state's
- 29:28Speaker 1: bad kansas traveling to number 12 utah kansas is bad
- 29:32Speaker 1: Number 23, Boise State traveling to Fresno State. Boise is
- 29:37Speaker 1: six and a half point favorite in that game but
- 29:39Speaker 1: the game of the week is going to be number
- 29:41Speaker 1: two Georgia against number six Alabama college game day.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Is going to be there Alabama is a one and a.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Half point favorite now we're all watching weather for this
- 29:52Speaker 1: one to see if it affects the game I know
- 29:54Speaker 1: college game day is moved inside so they won't be
- 29:56Speaker 1: outside they're going to be inside of the basketball arena
- 29:59Speaker 1: Coleman Coliseum I believe for their broadcast so You know,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I don't know what kind of game it could be.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I do think if it's a wet weather game, that
- 30:10Speaker 1: favors the Georgia Bulldogs.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, you would think so. You would think so.
- 30:16Speaker 4: You know, Keelan Russell's playing really well, but young quarterback,
- 30:22Speaker 4: really good with his arm.
- 30:23Speaker 1: The running game is not completely established right now. It's
- 30:27Speaker 1: a little bit of a different guy every game where
- 30:30Speaker 1: we know Frazier's going to be there for Georgia.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Gunnar Stockton.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I'll take Gunnar in the rain for sure over a freshman.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Definitely. Gunnar seems like a rain type of quarterback.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know.
- 30:43Speaker 2: I know what you mean, though.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think everybody knows. I don't have
- 30:46Speaker 4: to explain it. You can look at him. You can
- 30:48Speaker 4: look at his face, his play style. Good quarterback. Very
- 30:52Speaker 4: good quarterback. Very under-talked about, under-appreciated quarterback, probably. Well, you
- 30:58Speaker 4: could say the same thing about Georgia football program in general.
- 31:02Speaker 3: And the head coach and the quarterback. Everybody is underappreciated.
- 31:06Speaker 4: If you specifically corner somebody to talk about them, they'll
- 31:09Speaker 4: be like, yeah, they're great. Kirby Smart is one of
- 31:11Speaker 4: the best in the Gunner show.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Maybe they ever do it.
- 31:13Speaker 3: But they're never going to volunteer it. No. They're not
- 31:17Speaker 3: going to be like, let's start this show and.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Talk about Georgia and how good they are and how
- 31:21Speaker 4: consistent they are every single year. No one's going to
- 31:24Speaker 4: do that. But if you corner them, they'll talk about it.
- 31:27Speaker 4: But underappreciated. So I will, if it's raining, which, I mean,
- 31:30Speaker 4: I don't know how it can be, I guess. It
- 31:33Speaker 4: can't be raining. It's, you know, a hurricane.
- 31:38Speaker 3: True. Things that come with that.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Like what?
- 31:41Speaker 3: But as of now, well, it depends on what side
- 31:44Speaker 3: of the eye you are, Jake.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I heard if you're, you know, I know if you're
- 31:46Speaker 2: on the east side.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah. A little more tornadoing. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
- 31:53Speaker 4: This was posted yesterday by Alabama Athletics. They're obviously continuing
- 31:56Speaker 4: to monitor safety. Student well-being, safety is, like, the biggest situation.
- 32:01Speaker 4: They're monitoring the situation. As of now, kickoff remains at 6.30.
- 32:06Speaker 4: I don't know if that is updated. Probably won't get
- 32:09Speaker 4: the update at 7.39 in the morning. But as of yesterday,
- 32:14Speaker 4: game time was still scheduled. I guess it's supposed to start, like,
- 32:21Speaker 4: it's supposed to kind of hit this evening, isn't it?
- 32:22Speaker 2: Friday night, yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Friday night. Yep.
- 32:24Speaker 1: That's when it's, you know, Mobile. could be could get
- 32:28Speaker 1: some bad stuff yeah I think pretty sure that voluntary
- 32:34Speaker 1: evacuation in Pensacola mandatory if you don't live there like
- 32:40Speaker 1: if you're on vacation like my mom and stepdad were
- 32:42Speaker 1: there you got you got to get out of they
- 32:44Speaker 1: were in Destin and you had to go but I
- 32:46Speaker 1: think if you live there you you have the option
- 32:48Speaker 1: so I don't know again hopefully it turns into nothing
- 32:52Speaker 1: and we don't have a storm we haven't had one
- 32:53Speaker 1: in a long time and hopefully we don't have one
- 32:56Speaker 1: so We shall see, but it certainly could still affect
- 32:59Speaker 1: that game.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Going to be a weather game. I mean, LSU Kentucky
- 33:02Speaker 2: is going to get.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Some of that. Yeah, you're going to get weather too.
- 33:04Speaker 3: I mean, LSU could be a wet game. Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Which I don't know who that, you know, we can
- 33:13Speaker 4: talk about it, you know, throughout the show. I don't
- 33:15Speaker 4: know who that would affect more, but both teams want
- 33:18Speaker 4: to establish the run.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Yeah. I think you would.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I'm going to lean on everything helping LSU. LSU would
- 33:24Speaker 4: have the advantage in everything.
- 33:26Speaker 3: And every way.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Now, does that mean they're going to win? No, it
- 33:28Speaker 4: doesn't mean they're going to win. I think I feel
- 33:31Speaker 4: very confident in it. I feel very confident in the
- 33:34Speaker 4: coaching staff. But I think that LSU's defense far superior
- 33:39Speaker 4: than Kentucky's defense.
- 33:40Speaker 3: So in a rain game, in a.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Wet situation, I like LSU's ability to establish a consistent
- 33:46Speaker 4: running game versus them.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Well, Kentucky was 50.8 pass, 49.2 run or vice versa,
- 33:50Speaker 1: one of the two. LSU has had 180 pass plays
- 34:01Speaker 1: to 235 runs. So LSU is definitely a run-first football team.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Wait, are you saying Lane Kiffin's offense, it's not like
- 34:09Speaker 3: the air raid?
- 34:10Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 34:10Speaker 1: People think it is sometimes because of how fast they go.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I mean, they want to run the football. Those numbers
- 34:16Speaker 1: say it.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Again, 180 passes, 235 rushes. It's what they want to do.
- 34:17Speaker 2: It's who they are. I also like because....
- 34:25Speaker 1: It's funny, I gave that stat yesterday in the NFL.
- 34:28Speaker 1: 19-5 were the top six rushing teams in the NFL
- 34:31Speaker 1: compared to 9-15 for the top six passing teams. I
- 34:36Speaker 1: had a couple of people, former NFL coaches, like, yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 1: but when you've got a lead and you're running and
- 34:43Speaker 1: those teams are winning, I was like, no.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I did the analytics of it.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Seven of those teams in the second half. of those
- 34:50Speaker 1: 19 wins, seven of them were trailing or tied in
- 34:52Speaker 1: the second half. It's just the trend. It's a trend
- 34:56Speaker 1: right now. And it's in the NFL. It's in college football.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Teams recruited to stop the spread. Offenses are now going
- 35:03Speaker 1: back to trying to big boy you a little bit.
- 35:05Speaker 1: They can be out of 11 personnel because that's what
- 35:07Speaker 1: LSU is. 11 personnel team, but they still want to
- 35:10Speaker 1: run the football. Every run is still going to be
- 35:12Speaker 1: available to them. Gap schemes, zones, it doesn't matter.
- 35:17Speaker 3: And I hope they run it early. I hope they
- 35:20Speaker 3: run it often.
- 35:21Speaker 4: I hope they run it the first three or four
- 35:24Speaker 4: first down plays they have in the game, even if
- 35:27Speaker 4: it's an RPO. And I know that we've watched the film.
- 35:31Speaker 4: We've talked about LSU's offense a ton this year already.
- 35:35Speaker 4: We've talked about their RPO schemes. Sam's been a little
- 35:38Speaker 4: bit too... Itchy to throw the ball on these RPOs,
- 35:43Speaker 4: even if anything's a little bit murky, even in good boxes,
- 35:46Speaker 4: like good number counts to the run side, the play side.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Even if he's got four blockers for three defenders, if
- 35:53Speaker 4: he has a look that he thinks he can complete
- 35:56Speaker 4: a pass, he'll pull it and he'll throw it. That is,
- 36:00Speaker 4: to me, a PR. That's a pass-run option where you're
- 36:03Speaker 4: looking to pass first, then run. RPO is in that
- 36:06Speaker 4: order for a reason. You look to run the ball
- 36:09Speaker 4: unless they absolutely take it away. And then you throw
- 36:13Speaker 4: it as an answer because the run's taken away. Now,
- 36:16Speaker 4: this week, I think even if the count's bad, I
- 36:19Speaker 4: still think you can run the ball. I think their
- 36:22Speaker 4: defensive line is not very good. I think there is
- 36:24Speaker 4: a big advantage with that LSU offensive line versus the
- 36:29Speaker 4: Kentucky defensive line. Even if it's a bad count, if
- 36:33Speaker 4: I'm coaching this week, if I'm drawing up the game
- 36:35Speaker 4: plan and talking to Sam And those quarterbacks about the RPOs,
- 36:39Speaker 4: I'm saying it better be taken away big time.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:43Speaker 4: If not, let's lean heavy on the run, at least
- 36:45Speaker 4: early in the game. Make them show you that they
- 36:47Speaker 4: can stop it.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Early in the game. Lean heavy to hand in that
- 36:50Speaker 3: ball off to Dylan Jones. Let him go do his thing. OK,
- 36:53Speaker 3: he picks up five yards. It's great. Three yards might
- 36:57Speaker 3: be a bad run this week.
- 37:00Speaker 2: There's never a bad three yard run.
- 37:02Speaker 4: That might be a bad running play for the LSU Tigers.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Because you're saying you think they're going to have that
- 37:07Speaker 2: kind of success.
- 37:08Speaker 4: I do.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Yeah, the D-line gets Velcroed onto the offensive line.
- 37:11Speaker 2: That's not a good spot to be. You don't want
- 37:14Speaker 2: to be that, but that's what they do.
- 37:16Speaker 1: And you've got to take full advantage of it. I
- 37:17Speaker 1: fully expect LSU to have more runs than passes in
- 37:20Speaker 1: this game.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yep, 100%.
- 37:22Speaker 1: All right, we will step away, continue talking about LSU
- 37:25Speaker 1: and Kentucky. Of course, we'll get to Saints and Vikings,
- 37:29Speaker 1: Minnesota 4-0 coming to the Superdome. But look, the NFL
- 37:33Speaker 1: is very unpredictable this year. The Saints, yes, they are
- 37:36Speaker 1: going to play the game. Yes, they are going to
- 37:38Speaker 1: have an opportunity. What are they going to have to
- 37:40Speaker 1: do to win that game? We'll get to all of
- 37:42Speaker 1: that today.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Stay locked in here to OTB. Off the bench. Off

- 39:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Welcome back in OTV here live from Rouse's on Burbank
- 39:14Speaker 2: and Lee. Talk a little bit about LSU and Kentucky.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Potential weather there in Lexington and maybe who that favors.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I fully expect... Dylan Jones to be.
- 39:31Speaker 1: The workhorse for this LSU team. But now you have
- 39:36Speaker 1: seen Harlem Berry raise his level of play.
- 39:38Speaker 2: You know, last couple of weeks.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I thought this last game, and I don't care who
- 39:42Speaker 1: the opponent was, I thought it was much better for
- 39:44Speaker 1: him being sudden, seeing exactly what he was supposed to see,
- 39:48Speaker 1: going north and south, jump cutting, and then after he
- 39:51Speaker 1: jump cuts, not looking for the sideline, looking to go
- 39:54Speaker 1: vertical again.
- 39:55Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 39:56Speaker 1: It's as good as I've ever seen him. And then
- 39:58Speaker 1: you got Stacey Gage, who was kind of like the
- 40:01Speaker 1: fourth guy in, maybe a little bit like, hey, you
- 40:04Speaker 1: had your chance.
- 40:05Speaker 3: He said, hold up.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Wait a minute. Give me a couple more. and he
- 40:09Speaker 2: goes out there, he has a big day.
- 40:10Speaker 1: That's, you know, we don't, Stacy's only been here for
- 40:13Speaker 1: a handful of games, but we haven't seen that in
- 40:16Speaker 1: his repertoire. And again, you can be like, well, the opponent,
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's like, I'm not looking for that. I'm looking for,
- 40:20Speaker 1: are you reading your keys? Are you making good cuts?
- 40:23Speaker 1: Are you getting vertical when you need to get vertical?
- 40:26Speaker 1: Are you being a physical runner? All of those things.
- 40:28Speaker 1: And both those guys, I think have earned carries, right?
- 40:31Speaker 1: I think Caden Durham's a guy that obviously right now
- 40:33Speaker 1: is on the outside looking in, but I think You know,
- 40:36Speaker 1: you'll get Dylan Jones for 80% of the carries. You
- 40:39Speaker 1: might get Harlan Berry for 15% and maybe Stacey Gage
- 40:43Speaker 1: is the final, the other 5%. I don't know what
- 40:45Speaker 1: that breakdown looks like, but I still think like Dylan
- 40:48Speaker 1: Jones right now, when you go back and you watch tape,
- 40:51Speaker 1: he is so sudden.
- 40:53Speaker 2: He knows exactly where to go. There's not negative runs.
- 40:56Speaker 1: If the play gives you four yards at some point,
- 41:00Speaker 1: he's going to get six. He's going to take the
- 41:02Speaker 1: four that it's supposed to. He's going to get two
- 41:04Speaker 1: more with his pad level. And I think in this one,
- 41:07Speaker 1: on the road, crowd noise, his pass protection is going
- 41:11Speaker 1: to be the thing that stands out to me. He's
- 41:13Speaker 1: as good as I've seen in the country this year,
- 41:15Speaker 1: pass protecting.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I just don't expect him having to do it
- 41:17Speaker 3: a whole lot. It's true.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Well, I mean, their blitzes are very, like, mic fire.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah, they're mic fire. They'll bring the nickel off the edge. No.
- 41:30Speaker 4: And they'll drop the they'll drop the backside in. They'll
- 41:34Speaker 4: they'll their change up is to bring a linebacker.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:38Speaker 3: They usually don't.
- 41:41Speaker 4: I would start the game out by like if there's
- 41:44Speaker 4: a linebacker mugged to the running back side, I would
- 41:47Speaker 4: start by declaring away from him.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 4: So a lot of multiple times on film, I saw
- 41:52Speaker 4: a linebacker mugged. And when I say mugged, he's like
- 41:54Speaker 4: in the line of scrimmage. So in between two defensive
- 41:57Speaker 4: linemen acting like he's coming. Trying to get the lineman
- 42:00Speaker 4: to declare him or at least add him to what
- 42:04Speaker 4: we always talk about.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Was it this week that you said that guy never came?
- 42:07Speaker 4: Yeah, he never came. He came once from off, like
- 42:12Speaker 4: a linebacker position.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 42:13Speaker 4: So a linebacker did not come, like did not blitz
- 42:17Speaker 4: very often when he's lined up to the side of
- 42:19Speaker 4: the running back.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Now, that can be a changeup.
- 42:21Speaker 4: I mean, Kentucky knows there's a tendency there, too, and
- 42:24Speaker 4: they can always draw something to you.
- 42:25Speaker 3: They do self-scout. Right.
- 42:27Speaker 4: But a linebacker mugged is what they're trying to do,
- 42:30Speaker 4: as we talk about in pass protection. You got five
- 42:32Speaker 4: offensive linemen to block five people. So you talk about
- 42:35Speaker 4: the four down linemen plus one. So that's why quarterbacks
- 42:38Speaker 4: always declare Mike Wright, Mike Ryder, Mike 53, Mike 53.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Mike's way out there. Mike, heavy, heavy, heavy, whatever it is,
- 42:43Speaker 4: because you're trying to send the linemen to block all
- 42:46Speaker 4: the blitzers. So you're back and get out. And then he's,
- 42:49Speaker 4: you know, your back's not as good as an offensive lineman. Obviously,
- 42:52Speaker 4: it's past protectant.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Um, I guess.
- 42:54Speaker 4: So what happens when a, when a backer tries to
- 42:57Speaker 4: mug in the line of scrimmage, he's trying to become
- 42:59Speaker 4: part of that count.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:00Speaker 4: Now, sometimes he comes because you have to show that look. Uh,
- 43:05Speaker 4: but I just haven't seen it a lot from Kentucky.
- 43:07Speaker 4: So if you have a mic, a backer mug to
- 43:10Speaker 4: the running back side, I would not declare him. Um,
- 43:13Speaker 4: I only saw a backer blitz from the running back
- 43:15Speaker 4: side one time. Uh, so it's, uh, that's, you know,
- 43:20Speaker 4: list little things like that. And I think the past,
- 43:22Speaker 4: but I, Even if they did, I don't think they
- 43:26Speaker 4: brought seven people once this year. I think they've only
- 43:29Speaker 4: brought the cover zero like once or twice throughout the
- 43:31Speaker 4: entire season. Most of their pressures are simulated pressures where
- 43:35Speaker 4: they're only bringing four and they're bringing some sort of backer,
- 43:40Speaker 4: but they're dropping a defensive end. So you're only getting
- 43:44Speaker 4: four rush. So I don't think Dylan's going to have
- 43:45Speaker 4: to do a whole heck of a lot of pass
- 43:47Speaker 4: blocking unless they change up their philosophy on defense, unless
- 43:50Speaker 4: they decide to bring some different things. They will every
- 43:53Speaker 4: now and then. They'll test you. And they got that
- 43:56Speaker 4: heavy-headed son-of-a-gun linebacker. I don't remember his name, but he'll
- 43:59Speaker 4: bring it. But it is funny that they don't pressure
- 44:03Speaker 4: often because their best pass rushers are their linebackers. Their
- 44:09Speaker 4: defensive linemen, you know, they're fine. They're fine, but that's
- 44:13Speaker 4: about it. They're mediocre at pass rush, not very good
- 44:17Speaker 4: at that run stop him.
- 44:21Speaker 2: They'll have something.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I don't know what the changeup is going to be,
- 44:24Speaker 1: but to your point, there hasn't been a whole lot
- 44:26Speaker 1: of creativity, certainly, when it comes to, like, if you're
- 44:29Speaker 1: playing against LSU.
- 44:31Speaker 2: You better be ready. There's going to be multiple down, down,
- 44:34Speaker 2: and arounds.
- 44:35Speaker 1: There's going to be linebackers with DBs. There's going to
- 44:37Speaker 1: be games with linebackers with dropping guys. There's going to
- 44:40Speaker 1: be a lot of different things.
- 44:41Speaker 4: If you're Kentucky, you're doing an extra third down period
- 44:44Speaker 4: throughout the week.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Yes, you're walking through all of the different looks that
- 44:48Speaker 1: LSU is going to bring. And so far, Kentucky's only
- 44:51Speaker 1: shown some simplistic stuff. to say the least and they'll
- 44:54Speaker 1: have something they'll have a change up I don't know
- 44:56Speaker 1: what that is we don't know what that is but
- 44:58Speaker 1: LSU's got to adjust to it in the moment because
- 45:00Speaker 1: they'll have something but they're based off right now you
- 45:02Speaker 1: feel good about LSU's matchup all right off
- 45:06Speaker 2: The bench bench
