- 0:12Speaker 2: Queen Nija, welcome, Hi.
- 0:14Speaker 1: How are you? The way you said my name was funny,
- 0:17Speaker 1: he said, Queen Nija, welcome, Thank.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You, congrats you got the new ep out?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Yes, thank you.
- 0:24Speaker 2: After the butterflies, now, what does that mean? Does that
- 0:26Speaker 2: mean like once things get a little toxic in a relationship,
- 0:28Speaker 2: because then there's the butterfly stage. I always say, you're
- 0:30Speaker 2: getting a relationship, things are beautiful, and then you know
- 0:34Speaker 2: what happens when the butterflies go away.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't call it toxic. I don't think it's toxic.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Sometimes just becomes like you know, I mean real and realistic,
- 0:43Speaker 1: like realistically people are not gonna be like in love
- 0:47Speaker 1: well super duper in love every single day forever. Like
- 0:50Speaker 1: of course that happens like in the beginning where you
- 0:53Speaker 1: see the kind of girl I am, like, I see
- 0:55Speaker 1: no wrong in the beginning, like you can't do no
- 0:57Speaker 1: wrong the honeymoon stage. Yes, basically after the honeymoon stage
- 1:02Speaker 1: and when the rose colored glasses come off and it's like, Okay, yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 1: there's things that actually don't like about you, and like
- 1:10Speaker 1: things that you don't like about me, and disagreements and
- 1:13Speaker 1: like possibility of a breakup.
- 1:15Speaker 2: You know, Like no, yeah, like once you first start
- 1:17Speaker 2: dating somebody, you'll put all of the like if you're
- 1:20Speaker 2: really into somebody, all the stuff that everything is you
- 1:23Speaker 2: just put to the side.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I even love the flaws, like I love this, like
- 1:27Speaker 1: in the beginning, I love the things that I shouldn't.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So let me ask you this because I feel like
- 1:32Speaker 2: it's unfair of women to like love something about somebody
- 1:35Speaker 2: or even men too, because this happens a lot. Like
- 1:38Speaker 2: I have friends of mine who, like my wife used
- 1:42Speaker 2: to be a dancer, so I didn't never give a fuck,
- 1:45Speaker 2: still don't give a fuck, uh huh. But I have
- 1:47Speaker 2: homies of mine who like, like you'll fall like you'll
- 1:50Speaker 2: fall for somebody like and fall for them in a
- 1:53Speaker 2: certain line of work or for who they are at
- 1:55Speaker 2: a certain time, and then hold that against them later.
- 1:57Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Have you ever done that? Are you guilty of that?
- 2:00Speaker 1: No? Wait, hold on, maybe I spoke too quick.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's like you like some of the flaws, like you
- 2:05Speaker 2: embraced the flaws initially, but eventually you're like, man, I
- 2:08Speaker 2: don't like you because this is what it's like. Well,
- 2:09Speaker 2: you like you knew that you knew what it was
- 2:11Speaker 2: and that you have Yes.
- 2:12Speaker 1: It's something that you like went into knowing it was there,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you didn't mind it, and then all of a sudden,
- 2:16Speaker 1: like all of a sudden, yeah, hmm, I don't know
- 2:20Speaker 1: why my voice is correct like that, But what could
- 2:24Speaker 1: I say?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Uh, sometimes girls I won't say like this is like
- 2:29Speaker 1: specifically to me, but sometimes girls love that that little
- 2:34Speaker 1: like telling you what the do kind of thing when
- 2:36Speaker 1: a guy's like, no, you ain't, don't wear this or
- 2:38Speaker 1: don't do that, and like it's like, oh, it's so cute,
- 2:40Speaker 1: like he don't want me to care, but yeah, like
- 2:43Speaker 1: or he's you know, it's cute, he's a little but
- 2:45Speaker 1: then after a while it becomes controlling and it becomes like, okay, annoying,
- 2:52Speaker 1: like you're not my dad. I do believe you should
- 2:55Speaker 1: have a certain respect though for the man that you're with,
- 2:58Speaker 1: as he should have for you.
- 2:59Speaker 2: But of course I think that's like a big sign
- 3:02Speaker 2: of like insecurity.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Though for a male. Yeah, what to kind of tell
- 3:06Speaker 1: you not to wear it, yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Or like that. I also feel like I feel like
- 3:09Speaker 2: dudes like will have a real like inclination to like
- 3:14Speaker 2: try to keep women like covered yeah, or in their
- 3:17Speaker 2: little like grasp, you know what I'm saying, as opposed
- 3:20Speaker 2: to like, like, you know, I feel like a lot
- 3:23Speaker 2: of guys don't want to lose They want to keep
- 3:25Speaker 2: the girl, their girls to themselves. Yeah, and it's like, hey, man,
- 3:27Speaker 2: like I mean, if you.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Really locked in with that girl, you ain't gonna lose it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I remember I wasn't able to wear a bathing suit
- 3:34Speaker 1: in my last relationship. A bathing suit well yeah, I
- 3:38Speaker 1: had to like put shorts over my even if it
- 3:41Speaker 1: was a one piece, I couldn't do it. I couldn't
- 3:44Speaker 1: wear a bathing suit. Oh yeah. So like and it
- 3:50Speaker 1: was just I don't know, it was it was weird.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But and like work like so I grew up in
- 3:55Speaker 1: the church. Were both Christian. But he said he appreciated
- 3:58Speaker 1: how like Muslims, you know, how the wives were always covered.
- 4:02Speaker 2: In like.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And I you know, to me, it was just like
- 4:07Speaker 1: that was that was really weird. I did not like
- 4:09Speaker 1: that at all. The my current relationship. He like, don't
- 4:12Speaker 1: tell me anything about.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Well, this is the thing, Like it's a bathing suit.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Like you can't help the way you look in a
- 4:17Speaker 2: bathing suit.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Like my booty, I don't even have a BBL then,
- 4:19Speaker 1: Like my my booty was like it was a regular booty, right,
- 4:24Speaker 1: so I don't even understand why, but it's a regular
- 4:27Speaker 1: butt damn.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So, like, is that was that kind of like a
- 4:32Speaker 2: reason for you to like, Okay, I got to get
- 4:34Speaker 2: out of this.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Oh no, it was way more things than that, Like
- 4:36Speaker 1: that was just you know, but I don't even want
- 4:39Speaker 1: to like hone in on that. I just thought that
- 4:41Speaker 1: since we were talking about.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that's wild, though. Dude's got to stop being that way, man,
- 4:45Speaker 2: especially if you got a beautiful woman's Like.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if you're a mom, it doesn't matter.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, Like a woman should be able to
- 4:51Speaker 1: like wear what she wants.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Kiki Palmer's baby daddy is fucking and he's a simp.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That dude was tripping, bro I'm like, you got mad
- 5:00Speaker 2: because your girl went out with her homies in Vegas.
- 5:03Speaker 2: She had a Vegas outfit on. She's a she just
- 5:06Speaker 2: had a baby, this is a great night out for her.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Usher happened to sing her.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I just don't think that, you know, has to be
- 5:14Speaker 1: a limit on. I mean, okay, I will say this,
- 5:18Speaker 1: like just we're all different. Everyone's different. I have worn
- 5:23Speaker 1: some things that were like revealing, but not like super
- 5:26Speaker 1: duper revealing, like where I'm just out here naked, but
- 5:29Speaker 1: like that's to each his own.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, also, you know it's a.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You're an artist, Yeah, I mean what that mean?
- 5:35Speaker 2: I mean that like as an artist, like you're a
- 5:37Speaker 2: beautiful woman who I'm sure you know, like a part
- 5:40Speaker 2: of your your brand is how you're also a beautiful woman.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah. So yeah, shout out to your current guy who
- 5:47Speaker 2: feels like he's got it figured out.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Thank you. I guess thanks on his behead anyway.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yo. So, so, once once you get past the butterflies,
- 5:56Speaker 2: how do you make the relationship work?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Oh that's a good question. I feel like a lot
- 6:00Speaker 1: of people don't believe in this, but therapy therapy is
- 6:03Speaker 1: really good because it's good to have like a non
- 6:05Speaker 1: biased couple. Couples therapy is great, and the individual therapy
- 6:10Speaker 1: because I do feel like a lot of reasons why
- 6:14Speaker 1: relationships don't work out is because individually, like we haven't
- 6:18Speaker 1: like healed our own traumas. So like something that your
- 6:20Speaker 1: partner could do could trigger something from like yeah like
- 6:27Speaker 1: make yeah, and it's like a route behind it, Like
- 6:30Speaker 1: it could be nothing even super huge about it, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: like something really triggered something you went through, Like I know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I have triggers and traumas from like just people telling
- 6:42Speaker 1: me what to do and people controlling me, and so
- 6:45Speaker 1: like even if in the past I've gotten mad, like
- 6:48Speaker 1: if he's tried to give me some advice and it
- 6:51Speaker 1: maybe was like a little it was just a little
- 6:53Speaker 1: too sometimes the truth be hurting and it like.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Triggers something from the past.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, when really he was just trying to look
- 7:01Speaker 1: out for my best entry. So I mean that's just
- 7:03Speaker 1: an example. I feel like therapy, couples therapy, regular therapy,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and just like keeping it spicy. I feel like when
- 7:10Speaker 1: you stay in the house and you just especially if
- 7:12Speaker 1: you live with a person, like if y'all are trapped
- 7:14Speaker 1: in four walls and you just do the same thing
- 7:17Speaker 1: every day, especially if you got kids, like y'all need
- 7:20Speaker 1: to get out the house and do new things, like
- 7:23Speaker 1: things that y'all haven't done together, even if it's in
- 7:25Speaker 1: the same city or go on vacation whatever, But like
- 7:29Speaker 1: make new memories always because if you don't have nothing
- 7:31Speaker 1: to talk about, everything just becomes like super bland.
- 7:33Speaker 2: No, it's definitely hard, especially when you have kids in
- 7:35Speaker 2: your own.
- 7:36Speaker 1: The kids do a number. I got two kids, so
- 7:39Speaker 1: me too, but you got girls and boys?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Two boys?
- 7:41Speaker 1: I got two boys too.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, one of my kids just turned eighteen. To have
- 7:45Speaker 2: like a little man that lives in my house. Literally
- 7:47Speaker 2: he could go buy cigarettes right now.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Oh wow, how are your kids?
- 7:52Speaker 2: They're eight and four, So you have like an eight
- 7:55Speaker 2: year old like a little man too.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he's about to be nine February. My grown youngest
- 8:00Speaker 1: about to be five in January. So yeah, he he.
- 8:03Speaker 2: What's he into? Is he into like YouTubers.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Or yeah, he wants to be that's what he grew
- 8:08Speaker 1: up on. He's he wants to be a streamer. Yep, yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 1: j wants to be a streamer. He already has a PC.
- 8:14Speaker 2: He had a ten year old. That's like all that
- 8:16Speaker 2: they're into, these YouTubers and the yeah influencer.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Watching the reaction channel, reaction.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Channels and they be on the reels.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god. It's like I can't even keep up.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Like sometimes he'll be scrolling through and I'll like, here's
- 8:29Speaker 1: some stuff, and I'm like to turn it off.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Every single days, like we can't stop it. He'll be
- 8:36Speaker 2: sitting there and having breakfast and he throws on YouTube
- 8:38Speaker 2: on the big TV, but he puts the shorts on
- 8:39Speaker 2: and he'll just hit next and I'm like, they love
- 8:42Speaker 2: the shorts. It's crazy. This is this is the generation
- 8:45Speaker 2: of children that we both have.
- 8:46Speaker 1: It's scary.
- 8:47Speaker 2: We'll see what they grow up to end up being.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna keep praying over minds because.
- 8:52Speaker 2: For sure, So I do think therapy is something that
- 8:55Speaker 2: like there's obviously you know a lot of people have
- 8:58Speaker 2: starting to kind of break down the I guess the
- 9:01Speaker 2: negative stigma about it.
- 9:05Speaker 1: What's the negative stigma?
- 9:06Speaker 2: I just think I think I think, you know, in
- 9:07Speaker 2: the last decade or so, like it's been a lot
- 9:09Speaker 2: more acceptable to like openly say hey, I'm going to therapy.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I think before you would think that there was something
- 9:15Speaker 2: with you, you know, but it's not. It's like sometimes
- 9:17Speaker 2: you need to kind of work through like stuff that's
- 9:20Speaker 2: subconsciously there that you don't even know.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I feel like everyone in the whole entire world needs therapy.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I agree.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It's it doesn't mean you're crazy or you're psychotic. It's
- 9:28Speaker 1: I feel like, because every one of this whole world's
- 9:31Speaker 1: life is not perfect and everyone has been through something.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Even if your life was like super good growing up,
- 9:37Speaker 1: there's something, there's like something that you could maybe heal
- 9:42Speaker 1: from or maybe not. I don't know, Maybe I could
- 9:44Speaker 1: be wrong, but majority of us need something to heal from.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So one hundred percent. Have you ever done any psychedelics?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Oh? What's that?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Oh?
- 9:52Speaker 1: I don't do drugs.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Oh okay, Well, I mean, you know, some people say
- 9:55Speaker 2: they're drugs and people say they're not drugs, they're healing. Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I don't do drugs.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I have I have.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I have smoke weed before, and I really didn't have
- 10:05Speaker 1: a good experience with it. I would never in my
- 10:09Speaker 1: life do an edible. I see people go crazy.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Don't ever eat weed. That's the worst, worst idea. So
- 10:15Speaker 2: the thing about shrooms is like, uh, there's like it.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So they just legalized them in organ last year. I think.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So like veterans who have PTSD, they go through psilocybin therapy,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and then like it really is, like eventually, I mean,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I'm sure that it.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Can help some people. Don't get me wrong.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It's gonna be like a legal form of therapy in
- 10:35Speaker 2: the next decade for sure.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Okay, so drugs and therapyrooms. Like what are shrooms though?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Is that like an actual mushroom that grows from the ground?
- 10:44Speaker 2: Correct?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Really?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yes, we eat Uh No, there's different types of mushrooms. Obviously,
- 10:50Speaker 2: these are psychoactive. They have an ingredient called psilicytal.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I probably would go insane. I would probably.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Die, but you might not. That's great rooms. Well, shout
- 11:01Speaker 2: out to you. I mean, I feel like I'm always
- 11:03Speaker 2: impressed when I see someone with a beautiful voice also
- 11:06Speaker 2: be a pothead. Really, Oh, Like, you smoke a lot
- 11:09Speaker 2: to have to be able to sing.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Like that, Like sometimes it helped the raspiness of people voices.
- 11:14Speaker 2: True, if you've got the raspy thing going, I get that.
- 11:16Speaker 2: You've also kind of been like one of the go
- 11:19Speaker 2: to like hook people. I feel like for a lot
- 11:21Speaker 2: of rappers, what has been like your favorite hook you've
- 11:24Speaker 2: cut that wasn't for your own.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Shit, for my own song A hook? I think you know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I did one for a jez It's Gez, Bennit, the Butcher,
- 11:38Speaker 1: the real hood songs. I just like I like being
- 11:42Speaker 1: the bringing the sugar to the spice or how have
- 11:46Speaker 1: you say it. Like I like being the sweet voice
- 11:48Speaker 1: that comes on like a real rough knick kind of song.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It's easy to do it with melodic rappers, of course.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I like to specifically do hooks on like the thug
- 12:00Speaker 1: thugged out.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Because like in the two thousands, that.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Was the thing. Yeah, I would have been that girl.
- 12:06Speaker 2: With an amazing dope female singer, male singer, and it
- 12:10Speaker 2: would be like a dope record, like even back when.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Like I mean, I love Tupac, like I grew up
- 12:15Speaker 1: on Tupac. My mom loved Tubac so like the women
- 12:17Speaker 1: that he would have on there, like just singing the
- 12:19Speaker 1: heart out. I feel like if I was back in
- 12:21Speaker 1: that era, that would have been me.
- 12:22Speaker 2: You would have Beac like your goat, my goat.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah I never really said he was my goat, who's
- 12:29Speaker 1: my I mean he is. He's definitely like a fave.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Like I have a lot of faves that are like,
- 12:36Speaker 1: oh Gez, like like Whitney Houston. Yeah, but yeah, I love, love, love.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Tupac Who's who do you think? I think Whitney's probably
- 12:45Speaker 2: got the best voice.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Ever, best voice ever. She has a very like, very powerful,
- 12:52Speaker 1: one of the best voices. Adele there too, Kiki Wyatt,
- 12:58Speaker 1: for sure, her voice is insane. Of course Beyonce's voice
- 13:02Speaker 1: is insane, but that's like everybody knew that their best performance.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But Whitney's vocals.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I just feel like you put up. Like we're in
- 13:12Speaker 2: a room, there's no mics. You just got a.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Belt, right, just command the whole room.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, shout to Whitney. What's your what's your growing up?
- 13:21Speaker 2: What was like your favorite top two or three R
- 13:23Speaker 2: and B albums?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Top two or three R and B albums? Hmm? Do
- 13:30Speaker 1: I have to say albums? Because sometimes I would just
- 13:32Speaker 1: kick songs from albums my top to growing up, I
- 13:39Speaker 1: listened to a lot of Now this is only up
- 13:41Speaker 1: from my mom what she would listen to. Like, I
- 13:43Speaker 1: listened to a lot of Monica, Lawrence Hill, t O
- 13:50Speaker 1: C S W, v Ashanti and uh A, I Love
- 13:58Speaker 1: I wanted to be here when I was.
- 14:00Speaker 2: She just re recorded her albums because she didn't own
- 14:03Speaker 2: her masters, so she did a whole new version of
- 14:05Speaker 2: her debut album so if you're gonna stream a shanty
- 14:08Speaker 2: stream the new version, yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Go get that.
- 14:10Speaker 2: She gets paid off of that.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and see that's a beautiful thing. I currently own
- 14:15Speaker 1: my masters, so that's amazing. Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I was that something that you got from the jump
- 14:20Speaker 2: or did you have to negotiate that?
- 14:21Speaker 1: I got it from the jump, from front and beginning
- 14:23Speaker 1: of being signed.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's important, Yeah, very important because now you don't have
- 14:28Speaker 2: to re sing your ship in twenty years. Yeah, because
- 14:30Speaker 2: it don't. It happened. I mean, Taylor Swift just had
- 14:32Speaker 2: to do it.
- 14:32Speaker 1: You know, that's crazy. I think maybe they had to
- 14:35Speaker 1: redo it because back then maybe it was stricter things,
- 14:38Speaker 1: stricter policies.
- 14:39Speaker 2: There was worse deals back then. Oh yeah, the record
- 14:42Speaker 2: deals back then were terrible. They were the worst. Well,
- 14:47Speaker 2: shout out to God, shout out to you. You got the
- 14:49Speaker 2: You also had the leverage to ask for your masters,
- 14:51Speaker 2: because a lot of artists, if they're brand new, they
- 14:52Speaker 2: don't have like you have.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I came I came in with leverage when I was
- 14:56Speaker 1: signed because I already had a fan base.
- 14:58Speaker 2: You had the YouTube, Yeah, the YouTube going.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I already have a fan base. So if no
- 15:02Speaker 1: one else in the world listens to me, my my
- 15:05Speaker 1: five million, or whatever percentage of them they're gonna listen.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I was gonna say, coming in as like a you
- 15:10Speaker 2: like someone who had a YouTube fan base, You've done
- 15:14Speaker 2: such a great job of like people, Well, first of all,
- 15:17Speaker 2: you have people who know you from that, but you
- 15:19Speaker 2: also have people who just know the music. But I
- 15:20Speaker 2: feel like you've kind of been the kind of sole example.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I think Ddg's done a solid job.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm the female, he's a meal.
- 15:27Speaker 2: But I feel like you did such a good job
- 15:29Speaker 2: of like I don't even think of you as like that.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Like there's been some YouTubers making music and the music
- 15:34Speaker 2: sucks and then they go back to YouTube. Yeah, but
- 15:37Speaker 2: you're like, to me, you're an artist first now, like
- 15:39Speaker 2: you're so talented. How men music so high level.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I like to say that I'm not a YouTuber that
- 15:44Speaker 1: turned into an artist. I've I've always been an artist
- 15:47Speaker 1: that just turned into a YouTuber and now I'm doing
- 15:49Speaker 1: what I was posted.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It just so happened that, like some people discovered you
- 15:52Speaker 2: on you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah that was a I guess that was the thing,
- 15:54Speaker 1: because you know, I did American Idol too. Well, I'm
- 15:58Speaker 1: just say one because the first time I'm make the
- 16:00Speaker 1: first round. But I did American Night on. I thought
- 16:02Speaker 1: that was my way. When I was eighteen, I thought
- 16:05Speaker 1: that was going to be my way to you know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: to make it, to make it.
- 16:08Speaker 2: How far did you get?
- 16:10Speaker 1: I think top forty and they booted me. They were
- 16:12Speaker 1: boot and groups they had to get rid of people.
- 16:14Speaker 1: So I, you know, yeah, my dreams were really crushed.
- 16:18Speaker 1: But I was young, and so then from then I
- 16:20Speaker 1: was like, I'm not going to really do music anymore.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Maybe this industry is not for me. Maybe I should
- 16:25Speaker 1: just do gospel.
- 16:26Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I grew up singing in church. But then I started
- 16:29Speaker 1: YouTube because like I mean, I had I got pregnant,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I had a son. It was broke, and like YouTube
- 16:36Speaker 1: was you know, it was there. It was there.
- 16:40Speaker 2: People don't know it's free to like if you have
- 16:42Speaker 2: a camera, you have an iPhone, yeah, you could make
- 16:44Speaker 2: a YouTube change.
- 16:45Speaker 1: But we were doing it off of iPhone. Yeah, and
- 16:47Speaker 1: then eventually when you get that first check, you get
- 16:49Speaker 1: your camera. But like I still say, like to this day,
- 16:54Speaker 1: you know, I left YouTube for a little bit, but
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm going back. Are I'm going back?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Well?
- 16:59Speaker 1: I used to do like pranks and flog daily blogs
- 17:03Speaker 1: and things like that.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Would you do you like the fake couple pranks?
- 17:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say if some of them were playing,
- 17:08Speaker 1: because it's entertainment. But I won't do those things anymore
- 17:12Speaker 1: because I just feel like that's cringey.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Now, oh, because they're obviously fake.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean no, no, people still watch.
- 17:19Speaker 2: A lot of them, but a lot of those like
- 17:20Speaker 2: shots Mike, I missed it. Who was one of those kids?
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's still fake.
- 17:24Speaker 2: They were so fake and I was just like, god, yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 2: but it's people. Can you fake cheat on your girl
- 17:29Speaker 2: before she realizes it's not real?
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's just like that's.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But it works. But I think that was that was
- 17:37Speaker 2: an era of YouTube.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah, like everybody knew, like no one's getting a pencil
- 17:41Speaker 1: stuck in their eye, like.
- 17:42Speaker 2: You know what, but what are you gonna do? Now?
- 17:45Speaker 1: So no, that's what I was getting too. So I
- 17:48Speaker 1: decided to go back. And I don't know why I
- 17:51Speaker 1: called it a podcast, because now it's super it's like
- 17:54Speaker 1: being taken serious. So now I have a responsibility to
- 17:56Speaker 1: keep up. But so I decided to take my best
- 17:59Speaker 1: friend hern Is Dommy V who also does music, but
- 18:04Speaker 1: we'd be having conversations on the phone and stuff. So
- 18:06Speaker 1: I decided to just do that as like a kitchat
- 18:10Speaker 1: girl job. But so it turned into a podcast and
- 18:12Speaker 1: it got a lot of views, and people have already
- 18:14Speaker 1: reached out like trying to buy or put it on there.
- 18:18Speaker 2: That one don't sell it yet.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I I wasn't gonna do that now.
- 18:22Speaker 2: But what you should do is do it once a week.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You gotta be consistent once a week or twice a
- 18:27Speaker 2: month at the very least.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So like I literally this is my I only had
- 18:31Speaker 1: my second. My second one is coming out tomorrow.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, So if you guys can have like a consistent
- 18:36Speaker 2: drop schedule, whether it's twice, I would I wouldn't do
- 18:39Speaker 2: anything less than twice a month. But if you could
- 18:40Speaker 2: do once a week, do once a week, but do
- 18:42Speaker 2: it for like a year and then you that'll be
- 18:45Speaker 2: another seven figure back for you, because I mean there's
- 18:49Speaker 2: other podcasts that are not as that aren't very good,
- 18:52Speaker 2: that are.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah doing doing good.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I mean, all right, wait, we got to stop the interview.
- 18:58Speaker 2: This is an emergency my book. You sent me an email.

- 22:43Speaker 2: obviously I'm sure you're filming there as well. There's a
- 22:44Speaker 2: lot of artists that live there, so you're gonna be
- 22:46Speaker 2: able to have so many guests come in, and then
- 22:48Speaker 2: you're probably also gonna be able to get like you're
- 22:51Speaker 2: gonna be able to also get like a side of
- 22:53Speaker 2: people who I don't think other platforms are getting because
- 22:57Speaker 2: I don't really think like when I think of like
- 22:58Speaker 2: Drink Champs, artists gone there. But usually it's like old
- 23:01Speaker 2: school hip hop folks. But there their guards down because
- 23:03Speaker 2: they know Norri But I feel like their artists and
- 23:06Speaker 2: influencers guards will be down with you because they know
- 23:08Speaker 2: you from the music and you can have different conversations
- 23:11Speaker 2: with them.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, just realistic.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Yeah, do that, run that shit up, that'd be done. Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 2: that's the way to do. You.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I didn't expect for that to happen, Like I kind
- 23:18Speaker 1: of thought that I was just gonna do one episode,
- 23:21Speaker 1: but they were like waiting on the next one. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: was like, oh, shoot, what did I just do? And
- 23:24Speaker 1: I called it a podcast? So I feel like podcast
- 23:27Speaker 1: is held to.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Like a hired no no, no for sure, Well because
- 23:29Speaker 2: now people expect it to be a consistent thing. If
- 23:32Speaker 2: you called a podcast now people are like, oh, yeah, well.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I can't believe I did it to myself. But it's okay,
- 23:36Speaker 1: we're gonna keep it. We're gonna keep it up. I mean,
- 23:38Speaker 1: I need another streaming income anyways.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you'll run it up for sure. That's a seven
- 23:41Speaker 2: figure back for you if you just stay consistent. That's
- 23:43Speaker 2: easy for sure. As I say, for you, like you've
- 23:47Speaker 2: always been somebody like how do you deal with the
- 23:52Speaker 2: negatives of being in the public eye and being in
- 23:55Speaker 2: a relationship, Because I feel like you've you've that's got
- 23:59Speaker 2: to be like a hard thing to kind of like
- 24:01Speaker 2: because you want to keep your private life private as
- 24:03Speaker 2: much as you can. But you're also you you know
- 24:05Speaker 2: what I'm saying, I'm.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Also an artist, and I got to sing about how
- 24:08Speaker 1: I feel like that. Honestly, I just tell what I
- 24:12Speaker 1: want to tell, and whatever comes out, it comes out,
- 24:17Speaker 1: because it I don't know, like it just it happens.
- 24:20Speaker 1: You can't But even in that, you don't respond, like
- 24:22Speaker 1: you just you just deal with it in your household.
- 24:27Speaker 1: But I mean, how do I deal with it? I
- 24:30Speaker 1: just like, oh, I just answered it. I just tell
- 24:32Speaker 1: what I want to tell.
- 24:33Speaker 2: For sure? Has there been someone who you've met so far?
- 24:36Speaker 2: Because I always say in the music industry there's tons
- 24:38Speaker 2: of like, uh people, you know, people you work with, associates,
- 24:44Speaker 2: but not necessarily friends. Has there been any artists who
- 24:47Speaker 2: you've bonded some real friendships with since you've been doing
- 24:51Speaker 2: the music thing?
- 24:51Speaker 1: Well, well, how would you what would you call a
- 24:54Speaker 1: friend and what would you call an associated?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Well, associate, it's like, yeo, we work together, we did
- 24:58Speaker 2: the video. Like you really ain't seeing somebody are talking
- 25:00Speaker 2: to them outside of like the work, like you know,
- 25:01Speaker 2: but if there's somebody who you could, you know, always
- 25:03Speaker 2: call on for relationship advice or or music advice, or
- 25:06Speaker 2: someone you just chat with, or just like an actual friend,
- 25:09Speaker 2: you know, the difference between a work associate and a friend.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I don't have an actual industry friend. I don't, but
- 25:15Speaker 1: I do have associates, like people that would check on
- 25:19Speaker 1: me from time to time, you know, and outside of
- 25:23Speaker 1: music and stuff. And I appreciate it because I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 1: sometimes you can you can't be friends with people you
- 25:30Speaker 1: because y'all don't have enough time. Like I live in Atlanta.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Most of my peers live in LA so like we're
- 25:37Speaker 1: not seeing each other on a daily basis or but
- 25:39Speaker 1: I do have those people that would check on me.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I don't really have. I can't say I have friends,
- 25:42Speaker 1: so like that, I'm like.
- 25:43Speaker 2: This was Yeah, they're like, yo, let's go, let's go
- 25:45Speaker 2: get lunch just because because it's Tuesday.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Now more I have like more of a Actually yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 1: I barely have friends.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Like in life, you have a very tight circle, as
- 25:56Speaker 2: you should. Yeah, that's fair. On the EP, you got
- 25:59Speaker 2: l M. A Bellinger young boys on here shout out
- 26:04Speaker 2: to uh l m A who's also amazing talent.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Amazing, he's amazing talent. She's one of the ones that
- 26:11Speaker 1: check on me.
- 26:12Speaker 2: She's super super sweetheart. Yeah yeah, what what's what is
- 26:16Speaker 2: that a studio session situation or is that you send
- 26:18Speaker 2: this to the record off twour type?
- 26:20Speaker 1: I send it to her because once again, I was
- 26:21Speaker 1: in Atlanta. She's in l a.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But we did tour together for the Mary J. Blige tour.
- 26:27Speaker 1: We both got you.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Know, I was there, actually I went in in Brooklyn.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Did you see did you I was there?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Did you see me in the Red and the Red?
- 26:35Speaker 2: First I was, I was. I think I caught the
- 26:38Speaker 2: tail end of your thing. Me and Doc Winner were
- 26:39Speaker 2: across the street having dinner, and then we came and
- 26:41Speaker 2: you were on. Yeah, yeah, because yeah, I forgot. Yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 2: that was a crazy show, the.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Brooklyn show Barclay, Yeah, that ma'am.
- 26:47Speaker 2: She brought brought everybody out.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Bro New York's energy be crazy, like I love New York.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yo, that's crazy. And yeah, no, that was a while. Yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Mary J had like fabulous and Puffed Daddy and Jay
- 27:00Speaker 2: Kiss and I feel like fat Joe. I don't know.
- 27:03Speaker 1: It was like a lot of people.
- 27:06Speaker 2: As uh like you and Mary develop any sort of
- 27:09Speaker 2: like did she give you some game?
- 27:10Speaker 1: You guys, Yeah, she definitely gave me some game. She
- 27:12Speaker 1: gave me some game for sure. Of course, every every
- 27:16Speaker 1: og is going to tell you to like keep going
- 27:18Speaker 1: no matter what. But she definitely told me, like she
- 27:22Speaker 1: told me to take my time, and like, wait, what marriage.
- 27:28Speaker 2: She's been through very publicly.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I mean I've been through it too, though I was
- 27:31Speaker 1: already married before she told me so, But I am
- 27:34Speaker 1: I feel like this time around, I am we haven't
- 27:37Speaker 1: taking our time. I mean we've been together for almost
- 27:39Speaker 1: six years now, and people come playing because you know,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I always always joke around like where my ring get?
- 27:45Speaker 1: You know, but in reality, I'm just like whenever he
- 27:50Speaker 1: I rather man be like ready, like.
- 27:53Speaker 2: You better hurry up?
- 27:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you better hurry yet. But I'm saying though, like
- 27:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying that things should be handled before.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I feel like miridal counseling is really good, like premridal
- 28:06Speaker 1: counseling before you Yeah, because like a lot of times,
- 28:09Speaker 1: I do see like couples last a long time outside
- 28:12Speaker 1: of marriage. As soon as they get married, they get divorced.
- 28:16Speaker 1: And I'm a heavy believer in marriage. I still believe
- 28:18Speaker 1: in marriage. I still believe it could work. It all
- 28:20Speaker 1: depends on the two people and of course keeping God
- 28:23Speaker 1: like in your marriage. You know what I'm saying. But yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 1: it ain't no rush. But it's not a rush for marriage,
- 28:33Speaker 1: but it is like a little rush for like the ring,
- 28:35Speaker 1: because it's like, okay, at least if you propose, then
- 28:38Speaker 1: we know where we headed. We've had conversations about it,
- 28:41Speaker 1: like I know that he's going to but it's.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Like, okay, six years yeah, yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 1: But you know, sometimes men they want to get certain
- 28:49Speaker 1: things out the way, like he wants to put out
- 28:51Speaker 1: his clothing line and you know, like they want to
- 28:53Speaker 1: feel like they got apportionately life.
- 28:56Speaker 2: If you guys get married, him sign the prenup. We haven't.
- 29:02Speaker 1: We spoke us about we spoke about it. I don't
- 29:06Speaker 1: know though, I don't I don't know, but probably Yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 1: for sure. I just feel like that it's only fair
- 29:12Speaker 1: that if we walk away from each other, it's only
- 29:14Speaker 1: fair that we walk away with what we came with,
- 29:16Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Yeah, but I feel like
- 29:19Speaker 1: I got the kind of relationship to that, Like I
- 29:21Speaker 1: don't think he would ever try to You don't think No,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I don't think so, you don't think I don't think so.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't think he'd try to come form.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Get the prenup. That's all I was saying.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I feel you like it's smart. It is very smart.
- 29:33Speaker 1: But I'm just saying the person that I know, No,
- 29:35Speaker 1: I get it. You know what I'm saying.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I get it, But run a.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Lot of women don't think though when they do end up.
- 29:42Speaker 2: You know, but yo, were you did you ever when
- 29:45Speaker 2: you were on to Mary J. Blige? Did you ever
- 29:47Speaker 2: see like how I always am curious like when these
- 29:49Speaker 2: like like she wore like eleven outfits, how does that work?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Is there is there like a breakaway pants on all
- 29:55Speaker 2: these dresses and ship.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Have every tour I've done, like I just warned, like
- 30:00Speaker 1: one outfit, I mean, well no, on my birthday, I
- 30:02Speaker 1: feel like I had a show where I changed once once.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, you go behind stage and you just like.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Everybody, they're like six people just ripping it off for you. Yes, wow,
- 30:11Speaker 2: yeah I just saw.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I just saw Scissa. Yes, Scissa Sisster had like eleven
- 30:15Speaker 2: outfits and I was just like it was so fast.
- 30:18Speaker 1: That's amazing. That's amazing, But like.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Those you can have one outfit, I probably.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Would end up end up sticking with one outfit or
- 30:24Speaker 1: too if I have a break.
- 30:26Speaker 2: But I don't.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I don't feel the knee. I don't see the need
- 30:28Speaker 1: for all them outfits.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I just feel like it'd be so frantic it is.
- 30:31Speaker 1: It's like I don't see the knee.
- 30:33Speaker 2: What's your favorite song on the EP?
- 30:36Speaker 1: On my EP, I really liked the first song fading Away,
- 30:40Speaker 1: And I really liked the song with me and Monica.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Shout out to Monica, Shout out to her. She's legend?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Was it? Are you guys? Obviously she's someone who you
- 30:49Speaker 2: grew up listening to. Yes, and definitely a big deal.
- 30:52Speaker 1: To do so full circle moment. Yeah, Like I ain't
- 30:55Speaker 1: never think i'd be doing those songs with Monica.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Like yeah, Like when I was a kid, it was
- 30:59Speaker 2: like Monica and Brandy. That's like when I thought of
- 31:02Speaker 2: like R and B like chicks, it was Monica and Brandon. Yep,
- 31:06Speaker 2: it was them two and then.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And it's super dope because I get to grow up
- 31:09Speaker 1: and be a part of it and they're still like around.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, have you ever like, how how long do you
- 31:15Speaker 2: want to do music.
- 31:17Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I want to do music because you know, like sometimes
- 31:21Speaker 2: you'll see people like like you know, Brandy's a perfect example,
- 31:25Speaker 2: like we haven't had Brandy. Like Brandy will like come
- 31:27Speaker 2: and go like every five or six seven years, like
- 31:30Speaker 2: she kind of does it as she pleases. Now that
- 31:31Speaker 2: she's kind of like a og is it something like
- 31:33Speaker 2: you want to.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Okay, so I want to have Like so I dropped
- 31:37Speaker 1: my very first EP when I first came here. It
- 31:41Speaker 1: did really well, multiple platinum records, double platinum, thank you.
- 31:45Speaker 1: And then like that was twenty eighteen, and then in
- 31:49Speaker 1: twenty twenty two years later, I dropped my debut album, Misunderstood,
- 31:53Speaker 1: which just went gold. Congratulations, thank you especially Yeah. And
- 31:58Speaker 1: so three years later I was supposed to be dropping
- 32:01Speaker 1: my my sophomore album, but instead I dropped the EP
- 32:05Speaker 1: because like PaperWorks, they'll be taking too long, like.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well you know what it is, these labels, they're like, well,
- 32:11Speaker 2: if it's gonna count as.
- 32:12Speaker 1: An album, yeah, So I the way I do it,
- 32:16Speaker 1: the way I on my contract, I have to have
- 32:18Speaker 1: twelve songs on an album if I already dropped four songs,
- 32:21Speaker 1: and then I turn around and drop an eight song EP.
- 32:23Speaker 1: My contract is done, I mean not my contract, but
- 32:25Speaker 1: that portion of the so that.
- 32:26Speaker 2: They'll consider that a twelfth song. Oh that's smart, because
- 32:29Speaker 2: sometimes you'll see these major labels, they'll they'll be like, nah,
- 32:32Speaker 2: this is a mixtape, so it doesn't count against your.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Do it counts for me? My next My next album
- 32:37Speaker 1: is gonna consider my.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Third third, third album against yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and I have four so I have one more
- 32:43Speaker 1: left with the whom I'm signed too. But yeah, Capitol Records. Dang,
- 32:49Speaker 1: what was I gonna say? Would you ask me? What
- 32:52Speaker 1: I was gonna say is if I could just get
- 32:54Speaker 1: a super duper successful like album one, Well, yeah, I know,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but like I don't know, Like I just feel like
- 33:02Speaker 1: it's something more that I'm trying to I don't know
- 33:04Speaker 1: what it is. It's something more that I want, but
- 33:06Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. I think once I
- 33:09Speaker 1: get more of a general of the general public fan base,
- 33:15Speaker 1: then I will. I'm also working on releasing, like launching
- 33:18Speaker 1: a product too, like a line. I don't know if
- 33:21Speaker 1: it's I don't know if I want to call it
- 33:22Speaker 1: a clothing line, but just something really comfy. If I'm
- 33:26Speaker 1: really if I have a really successful business with that,
- 33:31Speaker 1: then I can take a break because I don't have
- 33:32Speaker 1: to depend on making music for money.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Just do it because you want to shout out to

- 37:36Speaker 1: Like podcast product line, the product line.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Gonna be like lounge and clothes. Like if I'm at home,
- 37:41Speaker 2: I want to watch Netflix, like wear your shit, maybe
- 37:43Speaker 2: go to the grocery store.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Oh like yeah, but I of course want to make
- 37:46Speaker 1: it because I'm big on comfort, Like I just love
- 37:49Speaker 1: I'd rather be comfortable than cute anytime, for sure, for real,
- 37:52Speaker 1: Like I can't. I usually can't wait to get home,
- 37:53Speaker 1: wipe off my makeup, take off my heels. Yeah, and
- 37:57Speaker 1: I like and I'll go out side, I'll make a
- 37:59Speaker 1: public's run.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Or I don't understand these guys who like go eat
- 38:01Speaker 2: food with like these like terrible designer outfits, and they're like, dude,
- 38:07Speaker 2: why be stressed the whole time? Because what if like
- 38:10Speaker 2: what if like you take a bite of your steak
- 38:12Speaker 2: and like juice hits your fucking three thousand dollars ugly ass?
- 38:15Speaker 1: I just want to be comed t shirt, you know,
- 38:18Speaker 1: like some people just you know, are like they just
- 38:21Speaker 1: love fashion and they deer passion.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I don't think the guys I'm talking about, they let
- 38:25Speaker 2: the designer wear them. They don't wear the designer. Okay,
- 38:28Speaker 2: there's two ways you could. You could let the designer
- 38:30Speaker 2: wear you, which a lot of you fucking scammers are
- 38:32Speaker 2: doing out there, a lot of these guys who are
- 38:35Speaker 2: like seventy five pounds over the maximum size that the
- 38:38Speaker 2: shirt is made in. Lord, have mercy fucking gut hanging out, Jesus.
- 38:43Speaker 2: And then you know, you could do the subtle designer.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I love subtle things. I'm such a dainty girl. Yeah,
- 38:49Speaker 1: I know I got this one, but you know I
- 38:51Speaker 1: had to wear because.
- 38:52Speaker 2: But it's even that's even like a subtle chain and
- 38:54Speaker 2: it's not like some crazy like your fucking queen.
- 38:57Speaker 1: My man had to force me to wear it. This
- 38:58Speaker 1: in another chain he bought me. I'm really I don't
- 39:01Speaker 1: in my stylist They're like, put on the cuban. I'm like,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I just want to wear like a little dainty gold
- 39:05Speaker 1: chain with the little Van Cleef. Yeah, like maybe some
- 39:08Speaker 1: cute ye, but yeah, I'm a dainty girl.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Okay. Well, like the EP is out right now, everybody
- 39:13Speaker 2: can go support it after the butterflies, yes, after.
- 39:16Speaker 1: The butterflies, and I'm gonna say this, like, if you
- 39:18Speaker 1: really really really support me, it's one thing to stream
- 39:21Speaker 1: and I love streaming streaming by it's ten dollars, y'all.
- 39:25Speaker 1: It's like two. It's like a combo meal, just because
- 39:29Speaker 1: that's what you know. I really don't like to ask
- 39:31Speaker 1: for things, and like I but I feel like I
- 39:35Speaker 1: have to get Yeah, well I gotta get the merch,
- 39:38Speaker 1: you know. But the merch an't ready yet, y'all. But
- 39:41Speaker 1: like I would say, you know, if you really support someone,
- 39:44Speaker 1: because I feel like I know a lot of people
- 39:46Speaker 1: don't look at artists and celebrities and they're like, what
- 39:48Speaker 1: do I need to Like you already got it? Or
- 39:51Speaker 1: you know, what do you do for us? Like I'm
- 39:54Speaker 1: one day, like I really want to do something super
- 39:56Speaker 1: big for like just people in general. Yeah, I love
- 39:59Speaker 1: to get back. I'm always given.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Well, this is the thing is like people who don't
- 40:03Speaker 2: understand you can still go to your Apple iTunes store
- 40:06Speaker 2: and buy an album very easily. Anytime there's a friend
- 40:09Speaker 2: of mine or an artist that drops that I really
- 40:10Speaker 2: want to actually support, I just buy it because then
- 40:13Speaker 2: you know, you go on the Apple chart and yeah,
- 40:15Speaker 2: and then if you uh, you know, if you actually
- 40:17Speaker 2: have physicals vinyl. That's why vinyls so popping right now
- 40:20Speaker 2: because people like to support what they're wanting.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Wait, so with do EPs get vinyl?
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you could do it.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I thought that was only like an album.
- 40:27Speaker 2: You could do a vinyl. You can do a vinyl
- 40:29Speaker 2: with anything.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I have vinyls with my Misunderstood record.
- 40:31Speaker 2: I mean that's what I'm saying, Like you can do
- 40:33Speaker 2: like eliminated run of vinyl like five hundred. They'll sell
- 40:35Speaker 2: out your fans willy they want to, they'll sell out,
- 40:37Speaker 2: but you know.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Don't be taking a long time.
- 40:38Speaker 2: They do like months, like three or four months, but
- 40:41Speaker 2: you put the pre order up, they'll sell out and
- 40:45Speaker 2: then once you buy it. I just bought Audrey three
- 40:48Speaker 2: thousands flut album on vinyl.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I gotta go check that out. I hear a lot
- 40:51Speaker 1: of people talking about it. I want to check it out.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Listen. It's the type of music if you go to
- 40:55Speaker 2: a massage spot and you're you know, you got someone massage.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It's on in the background.
- 41:01Speaker 1: How many how many tracks are on there?
- 41:04Speaker 2: Listen, it's a ridiculous. It's only eight songs, but it's
- 41:08Speaker 2: an hour and a half album. Each song's like ten minutes.
- 41:14Speaker 2: If you're like at home and you want to do
- 41:17Speaker 2: some yoga, you want to meditate. Put on the Three
- 41:19Speaker 2: Stacks album. It's just flutes. It's a lot of flute
- 41:23Speaker 2: shit going on. But I bought it on vinyl because
- 41:25Speaker 2: I got out cast right there on vinyl, so I
- 41:28Speaker 2: had to. I had to.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Support, right, support the people you love.
- 41:32Speaker 2: As you say, you look, you have such a hardcore,
- 41:34Speaker 2: like honed in fan base that like anytime you drop,
- 41:38Speaker 2: you gotta make sure you got you gotta have the vinyl.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You gotta have that. Yeah.
- 41:43Speaker 1: But see, that's why I didn't drop an album because
- 41:46Speaker 1: I feel like none of that. Okay, So what people
- 41:48Speaker 1: don't understand is you can't start getting vinyls ready or
- 41:54Speaker 1: until everything's delivered to everything's delivered to all the DSPs.
- 41:59Speaker 1: They don't want to start any process until everything's delivered.
- 42:02Speaker 1: So for me, a lot of things are last minute.
- 42:05Speaker 2: You like somewhat to the Copper CD.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'll tell you all later on in my snapchat, don't
- 42:10Speaker 1: I don't know. I have to go check.
- 42:12Speaker 2: But like, so people like to collection like this now,
- 42:15Speaker 2: like just like no one will ever like actually put
- 42:19Speaker 2: this tape, but you could do it queen tape.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I don't know if I do. I don't think I
- 42:23Speaker 1: have it for my EP PE, but I definitely have
- 42:25Speaker 1: it for my debut album. So if y'all still want
- 42:27Speaker 1: to be but yeah, I meant next time around, we're
- 42:31Speaker 1: gonna be we're gonna be a lot more organized. I
- 42:34Speaker 1: just I couldn't stand to wait longer to drop music,
- 42:38Speaker 1: like people would have forgot about me.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Hey, what's the podcast called.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Let's Talk About It?
- 42:43Speaker 2: I like that.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I named it after a song that I didn't put
- 42:47Speaker 1: on my EP, but I released the song this earlier,
- 42:49Speaker 1: this in January of twenty twenty three, and it's called
- 42:53Speaker 1: Let's Talk About It, and so I thought it would
- 42:55Speaker 1: be perfect to for a podcast. Thank you.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Random other question? Did you have you ever met NB
- 43:01Speaker 2: a young boy? You guys have a song together.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I went to his house to do the video
- 43:04Speaker 1: in Utah.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Yes, what was that like? That was?
- 43:08Speaker 1: You know, it was interesting? It was very he was well,
- 43:11Speaker 1: he was a gentleman. He was he was I definitely
- 43:15Speaker 1: judge a book, but I judge him by his persona
- 43:17Speaker 1: on social media people do. Yeah, he was nice. He
- 43:21Speaker 1: was well, like soft spoken and you know, he was
- 43:27Speaker 1: just being him.
- 43:30Speaker 2: You got to go to Utah.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I went to Utah. You had to do that because
- 43:33Speaker 1: I felt like I hadn't seen him in the video
- 43:35Speaker 1: with somebody else, like in a long time.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah. All his videos have just been like in his house. Yeah.
- 43:40Speaker 1: So, I mean a portion of my video for No
- 43:43Speaker 1: Fake Love was at that house. It was a house.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Did you try to convert you to Mormonism? Uh no,
- 43:50Speaker 2: because he I think he's Mormon now.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, he ain't do that.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yeah, shout to the Mormons out in Utah. They run
- 43:55Speaker 2: that shit out there.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know it was you know it was
- 43:58Speaker 1: he was I think uh, I think he was in
- 44:01Speaker 1: the mid movie or something like that.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Yeah, very interesting guy, superven enigma. I feel like he's
- 44:07Speaker 2: he's DM me before, like randomly he's an enigma.
- 44:11Speaker 1: What is that?
- 44:12Speaker 2: He's like he's just like a like a thing. Like
- 44:14Speaker 2: he's like he's just so like abstract as like a personality,
- 44:18Speaker 2: like what like you know what I mean.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Like it's like he's very unpredictable.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's he's just like his own thing, like he's
- 44:25Speaker 2: NBA young boy. He's not a person. He's like it's
- 44:27Speaker 2: like a he is a person like no, no, no, but
- 44:30Speaker 2: like he's like more than.
- 44:30Speaker 1: A no, no, I know what you're saying. He's like,
- 44:32Speaker 1: but I think you know what it is. I feel
- 44:35Speaker 1: like that's why he feels so misunderstood fair enough, because
- 44:38Speaker 1: a lot of people do look at him as, you know,
- 44:41Speaker 1: more than a person, and like he just want people
- 44:43Speaker 1: to see him as a person.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so like yeah, like he just randomly. I did
- 44:47Speaker 2: an interview with Glorella that he really liked, and he
- 44:50Speaker 2: was just like, hey, man, do you really enjoy what
- 44:53Speaker 2: you do? And I was like yeah, He's like you
- 44:55Speaker 2: look like you have a lot of fun and and
- 44:58Speaker 2: uh it was like the most I looked at my
- 45:00Speaker 2: phone and it said damn from his and I was
- 45:02Speaker 2: like this, what the fuck is this right? So I
- 45:04Speaker 2: hit him. I was like thanks man, like yeah, you know,
- 45:06Speaker 2: and I was like one day, I'd like to have
- 45:07Speaker 2: you other show. And he just liked the message. But
- 45:11Speaker 2: it was like so random, nice guy from what I
- 45:13Speaker 2: you know, our three messages.
- 45:16Speaker 1: He was super supportive of the record. He ain't charged me.
- 45:19Speaker 2: He didn't charge you.
- 45:20Speaker 1: He didn't charge me wow for anything. He's charged a lot,
- 45:25Speaker 1: Like I don't know why he chose to not charge me.
- 45:28Speaker 1: I was like, are you sure, Like, let's rock with
- 45:29Speaker 1: you and you know, one of the things that he
- 45:32Speaker 1: told me, I don't understand it. But like when I
- 45:34Speaker 1: was at his house, he was like he was like
- 45:37Speaker 1: I need you more than you need me. And I'm
- 45:39Speaker 1: like what, Like I really did not understand like that.
- 45:42Speaker 2: I'm like, what you mean, like I need I think
- 45:44Speaker 2: I think young boy like at the end of the day,
- 45:46Speaker 2: like for whatever reason, the industry has kind of shunned him.
- 45:49Speaker 2: So I think for him to do like a record
- 45:50Speaker 2: with someone like you who's like a big deal singer, like,
- 45:53Speaker 2: I feel like it helped. I feel like I feel
- 45:55Speaker 2: like it's an habitual, you know thing, And I think
- 45:58Speaker 2: I feel like young boys kind of like low key
- 46:01Speaker 2: like Tupac to a lot of people in this generation,
- 46:04Speaker 2: he is one of the ones. But for whatever reason,
- 46:08Speaker 2: a lot of the gatekeeper is a hip hop they
- 46:12Speaker 2: don't really rock with them. And I think it's it's
- 46:14Speaker 2: you know, it's like, bro, this guy is like a
- 46:16Speaker 2: generationally big rapper. Yeah, when it comes to like numbers.
- 46:21Speaker 1: My son the NBA Young Boys, though.
- 46:24Speaker 2: There's not a lot of rappers who have like eight
- 46:26Speaker 2: year old kids having an NBA Young like like they're
- 46:28Speaker 2: like themed birthday part I've seen so many NBA young boys.
- 46:31Speaker 2: The birthday party.
- 46:32Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 46:32Speaker 2: It is. It is crazy, but it is a thing.
