- 1:22SPEAKER_04: I love it out there in Southern California.
- 1:25SPEAKER_05: But uh Elias, great, great to have you join us today, man.
- 1:28SPEAKER_05: Why don't you uh why don't you tell our listeners a little bit about who you are, what you're doing, and your business background.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: So uh well, thank you for having me on the show.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: I appreciate it, Mark.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Uh so yeah, my name is Elias Curtis, and I'm a founder of Transform Design Inc.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: uh and I started the business with my wife uh 17 years ago.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: So we've been doing this since 2009, where we're actually helping businesses with their brand designs, their websites, their SEO, their marketing, and and there's so much that's changed over the years.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: We can definitely unpack that.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Um but mainly, you know, we just help businesses grow and scale through uh building AI websites, power sites, and uh building lead generation systems as well to help them with lead traffic and conversion.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: That's awesome.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: So I know a I know a question that Mark's just dying to probably ask when you talk about starting a business with your wife, right?
- 2:20SPEAKER_05: Like we've that that's that's a challenge in of itself, not not because it's your wife or a wife, but because of any kind of relational in when you get in business, whether it's a mom, dad, sister, brother, daughter, wife, doesn't matter, you know, or even a good friend is also just is kind of dangerous.
- 2:40SPEAKER_05: But tell us how you've done it, man.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: 17 years.
- 2:43SPEAKER_05: Is she I'm assuming she's still working with you on a daily basis?
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, still working with you.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Wow, that's pretty impressive, man.
- 2:49SPEAKER_05: What what's your what are your keys?
- 2:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, what's the secret?
- 2:53SPEAKER_05: Just break it out.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's just uh alignment, right?
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: We have to be on the same page, same goals, uh, we share the same values, same faith.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: And so, yeah, it's very important to be able to just have that plan and navigate through all that, even the hard times, but uh that really is a team effort as we work together to succeed in business.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: So, do you guys ever get away from the business?
- 3:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, working together all day and then I think the tendency is to talk about it all night.
- 3:23SPEAKER_04: Is that the case for y'all?
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: So we do talk about it quite a bit.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Uh, but yeah, I mean, we we do love to do things, right?
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: We go traveling, hiking, and you know, do spas and do, you know, do all kinds of things.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: So, I mean, it's it's we definitely have a balance because if it's just too much business, business, business, yeah, it's gonna be unbalanced, right?
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: And so, so yeah, we work hard to make sure that we enjoy everything we do in life.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: Do y'all have like rules of engagement?
- 3:48SPEAKER_05: Like, I know like sometimes my wife like no phones for dinner, right?
- 3:52SPEAKER_05: Like, like so you're not just looking at I mean, do you have like cutoffs?
- 3:56SPEAKER_05: My second wife tried that with me.
- 3:58SPEAKER_05: Did she?
- 3:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it didn't work, didn't work out for her, did it?
- 4:01SPEAKER_05: No.
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: Did not.
- 4:03SPEAKER_05: But anyway, but what are do you have rules for engagement at all?
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, in the beginning, yeah, it was a you know, we try to do the rules thing, but you know, you know, the closer we get to get to each other, the more we know each other better.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like just no, right?
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: It's like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: You guys and so yeah, we're very hot as to one another when it comes to those things.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: But for the most part, we're we're pretty open and flexible.
- 4:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:26SPEAKER_04: These guys must really get along well.
- 4:28SPEAKER_04: I mean, you notice this, like how he sounds.
- 4:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's just he's it's it's like it's all natural.
- 4:33SPEAKER_04: It's easy.
- 4:33SPEAKER_04: He's doing great.
- 4:34SPEAKER_04: We get along great.
- 4:36SPEAKER_04: He doesn't seem stressed up.
- 4:37SPEAKER_04: No, he doesn't.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: I mean, if somebody asks me that in his shoes, I might be like, man, I don't know.
- 4:42SPEAKER_05: You're like a rarity, dude.
- 4:44SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 4:44SPEAKER_04: That's all I'm gonna say.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: You're like one in a hundred over there.
- 4:49SPEAKER_04: Do you do you each have your own roles and and like lane you stay in so you don't um tread in each other's territory, or do you both just try to do everything together?
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Uh so we're together, but we we compliment each other, right?
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: So I mean, she we do have our roles and responsibilities in our marriage.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: Um, so I mean, as far as the business side of things, she takes care of administration and design work.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: And um and I do I'm I'm like the face of the company, so I go out and I talk to people at a podcast about those things.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: So um, and I also design and code and I build systems.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: So and so together we just work with a really good team and it just yeah, it works out that way.
- 5:26SPEAKER_05: So that's pretty helpful because you I mean, like even in any kind of partnership, it doesn't even matter if you're it's right.
- 5:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's like you said a good friend.
- 5:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you gotta have different roles, you gotta have different roles, strengths and weaknesses, you know, uh compensating for each other on that.
- 5:40SPEAKER_05: That's a that's a huge deal.
- 5:42SPEAKER_05: So yeah, it really is.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: Well, man, you talk about a business, right?
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: I mean, if there is a business out there that is that has to evolve with the times.
- 5:54SPEAKER_05: No kidding.
- 5:55SPEAKER_05: I'd say you're stuck smack dab middle in that, Elias, right?
- 5:58SPEAKER_05: I mean, with the with the uh the acceleration of AI, and you said you did say AI websites.
- 6:04SPEAKER_05: So it sounds like if you've been in this 17 years and you're saying AI websites, then you're obviously evolving, right?
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: I mean This is a business Eric knows a lot about, truthfully, because you were in this business.
- 6:16SPEAKER_05: No, a hundred percent.
- 6:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and I still kind of play in it a little bit, but right.
- 6:20SPEAKER_05: I mean, we're definitely the things I'm doing are being impacted.
- 6:23SPEAKER_05: But I mean, I I think with an alliance's uh circumstance, man.
- 6:27SPEAKER_05: I mean, like you like you talk about having to like really figure out business models on the fly.
- 6:35SPEAKER_05: You know, but uh yeah, so so tell us a little bit about that.
- 6:38SPEAKER_05: Like, how do you keep your adaptability high?
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: How do you I mean, like, what's that look like to you when you see new things come to the market?
- 6:44SPEAKER_05: What are you doing?
- 6:45SPEAKER_05: How are you responding?
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I I do pay attention to what's going on.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: Even though I'm always vocal about it, right?
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: So uh so for 17 years in business, right?
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: We were doing things the traditional way for so long.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, we're talking about building sites, you know, using code and and and uh designing without you know, without having AI conceptualization and helping assist with that.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: So a lot of things just custom all across the board from invoicing to administration to the whole process and building out a system.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, we faced a lot of pain points and a lot of issues along the way, right?
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: Especially with communication and you know uh paperwork, you know, I can go on workflows.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: Uh so so when we so when AI came on the scene, right, I just saw it, I was like, well, okay, so it it it'll help with a lot of daily tasks.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Um but then it even took it a step further and said, okay, well, it can actually help with coding.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: And then it can also help with communication.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: And then it can also help with writing.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: And then so so I started to adopt a lot of these these uh features and benefits that AI uh can do uh to help with the whole workflow on a daily basis.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: So it was a big shift for us um as we pivot it.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Uh but since we did that pivot, it changed our business tremendously.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Like we literally find out that you got a question.
- 8:08SPEAKER_04: No, I was just gonna say, I mean, I think this is what people don't realize.
- 8:12SPEAKER_04: As soon as you start using AI, you start figuring out other uses for it.
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: That's why you just have to just start somewhere, and then it just like it just builds on itself.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: But I mean, I you know, like I noticed here in our notes, it's uh and you mentioned it already, you do SEO.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: I mean, what do you call it when you want to turn up on an AI search?
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: Is that SEO or is that something else?
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, let's I'm gonna unpack that because this is a whole because because right now there's a lot of issues within the market, especially how things are built.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Um, there's there's two things that that are big problems that I that I go on and I work at solving for businesses.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Two of them is fragmentation and limitation.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: So when I look at businesses and their structure, I can see pretty quickly how they are presently online, and then I can see where we where we need to improve.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Because a lot of times businesses will have a broken system, if you will.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: And there's pieces all over the place.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: So they'll have their social media over here, they'll have their online listing somewhere over here, their brands kind of over here.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: So it's it's disconnected from the entire message, the entire goal, right?
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: And so that's a problem.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: So we go in there and take a look at that to help with the fragmentation part, but then there's limitation.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: So there's as you know, the AI economy, it's a it's a whole different new way of doing business.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: And so I I have probably 80% of my clients that are still using WordPress, for example.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: And so I'm slowly helping them migrate over to a fully AI-powered site and system that is just a lot benef a lot more beneficial to what their business involved.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: So and what that looks like as far as like we'll get into SEO, uh, but it really comes down to like maintenance.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: So, like, for example, if I have a client that comes to me, right, using WordPress and say, Can you do all these changes for me?
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: And I'll say, Yeah, I can do them, but it'll take me about a day or two to get them done for you.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: That's traditionally how we used to work.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: Um, now with AI, based in the same situation, they'd contact me and say, Hey Elias, can you make these changes for me?
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: And if I'm in front of my computer and I have their their site open in front of me, I can literally make those changes in 10 to 15 minutes.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: So it's the efficiency of the entire process that makes it so much better.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: And again, it's able to streamline things.
- 10:37SPEAKER_04: So it starts with the website itself, changing the platform that it's on.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: So AI is really exciting to help the whole web space and building out an ecosystem.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: And we can get into all the nuts and bolts of that.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Um but you know, I I try my best not to criticize platforms because I respect what they do, and um, but there are limitations to what they can do, especially when it comes to AI.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Um now moving back into your first your question about SEO.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: So SEO, if you're listeners, SEO stands for search engine optimization, right?
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: And so when somebody goes on to Google, they'll search whatever they want and it just comes up as a listing and they can find it throughout their search engines.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Now, when we start to move into like GEO, AEO and programmatic SEO, which is very, very immune, that's debatable right now between a lot of a lot of people.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: So GEO stands for generative engine optimization, where you're feeding AI models information that are cited from you know third-party sources.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: So like if your business is listed on like a Yelp or Yelp page, it's pulling that information into the AI models because it's recognizing that you are an authority online.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: And once you build that up, then it becomes stronger over time.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: And then the AEO just has to do with being able to answer questions people have.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: So if you have questions that you're able to answer as the expert, then you're gonna be the go-to guy for that answer.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Um, and then when we move into programmatic SEO, and that takes a whole you know time to talk about it, but I'll just brief briefly touch on it, is when you're building thousands of pages on your website, and it works very well when it comes to lead generation.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Okay, so so for example, on my site, I build out thousands of pages that are validated through search engines, it has to be you know acceptable, and all those pages have lead form.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: So when when businesses look at our services, they can contact us immediately through those pages, and it's good for visibility and also for for lead conversion.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: And so so AI helps with a lot of that.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: And so to do that manually, it would it it'll take a long time.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: And so hopefully that helps answer that question.
- 12:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, unpack the GEO versus the S E or I'm sorry, the GEO versus the AEO part a little bit.
- 13:03SPEAKER_05: Give a little, can you give a little more context, go deeper in both of the things?
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because that people don't understand that.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: All right, I try to give an example, try to make a simple illustration.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: So, all right, you have your business, okay.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: So let's say you offer plumbing services.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, so now you have to do SEO, but you also have to do GEO, and the way you do GEO is making sure you have all your information about your business.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: You know, how long you've been in business, what you offer, you know, where you're located, you know, just a bunch of information, like credentials, right, to build trust, you know, how many reviews you have on Google or you know, so a lot of it's a lot of it's information based about who you are, what you do, and what you offer to the to the market.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: Now you feed AI models that information through your website and through all your channels.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: So the the so the brand message is the same everywhere.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: So when I go on your website, it's the same there.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: I go to your social media channels, it's there.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: Everywhere I go online, it's saying the same message of who you are, what you do, what you can offer.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: So that's being fed into the AI model.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: So when I go into like Perplexity, Chad BT, Gemini, and I'm I'm searching in those AI models.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: Now you're being listed, right?
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: You come up.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Now, whether you come up first or second or third, that really depends on how strong your reputation and your in your visibility is.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: And also longevity.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, searching is also reward, you know, if your domain's been online for, you know, over 10, 15, 20 years.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: And so there's that.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: So all those factors take take, you know, is important as you build up this this whole GEO uh landscape through AI models.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: And then the AEO is just it just answers.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: So you may have an FAQ, or you have you might be on like, you know, all those question sites out there, like, you know, which one's it?
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: Quora, you know, you got a bunch of different people just go there just to get information, right?
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: And so that so you're basically working that out through AI as well as you build up your a your answers to the questions that people have regarding what you offer.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: So it's all connected.
- 15:10SPEAKER_05: It's all connected.
- 15:11SPEAKER_05: And and like go with me on this, Elias, and see if this can help domystify a little bit more.
- 15:17SPEAKER_05: I think about everybody understands SEO.
- 15:19SPEAKER_05: It's been beating our brains for at least two decades, right?
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: Like, I mean, I think everybody has a premise and foundation on that.
- 15:27SPEAKER_05: But like, let's say that that's the you know, step one.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: And and by the way, just for the record, SEO is still important for businesses, right?
- 15:36SPEAKER_05: Like, you cannot disregard SEO.
- 15:38SPEAKER_05: It's so it's fundamentally step one.
- 15:41unknown: Right.
- 15:42SPEAKER_05: Step two is GEO, generative engine optimization, which is kind of like a SEO with a little bit of charity on top.
- 15:52SPEAKER_05: You know, it's got like it's it's a little bit more of a um, would you say it's it's more of a complicated SEO or or it's a it's a more defined SEO, but it's for the AI bots themselves, not for the old search bots and the user.
- 16:09SPEAKER_05: Because you're actually telling the AI models what enhanced SEO.
- 16:13SPEAKER_05: It's enhanced SEO.
- 16:14SPEAKER_05: It's it's an extension of it, right?
- 16:16SPEAKER_05: Would you yeah.
- 16:17SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 16:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 16:18SPEAKER_05: And then and then when you get into AEO, answer engine, like that's what you're like, it's almost it's it's the it's the uh it's the even further enhanced in the sense of where, like, if you did a really good job at frequently asked questions and you wrote down as many questions that you could, like maybe clients have asked you, or you know, all the in like even your kids are asking you, and and you're answering those time and time again, that's where it's going to become helpful to give context to the answer engine, like Gemini, and if you ask questions in chat GPT and things of that nature.
- 16:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's what I was just thinking.
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: Like, what fits this or whatever?
- 17:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like I I have I have a uh a nut allergy, but I really like snack bars.
- 17:09SPEAKER_04: What are the best what are the best ones that won't kill me?
- 17:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:15SPEAKER_04: That's that's one that's the thing I think people really need to cue into now because more and more of their searching is happening on AI than it is in Google, right?
- 17:25SPEAKER_04: It's just like all moving over there.
- 17:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_05: Well, contextually, it's just easy, and then it all comes down to convenience for the user, right?
- 17:32SPEAKER_05: I mean, like if you go to Google right now and you ask that question, would you rather search through a bunch of results?
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: No, I'd rather just go to my AI and ask it.
- 17:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you doesn't just tell you AI mode, like your answers done.
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes, yes.
- 17:48unknown: Yes, yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_04: So, hey, let me ask you a question, Elias.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: Let's just say I've got this one business that I'm involved with that has a website that's really, really complex.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: I don't know what it was written in, but it is a website that does um support e-commerce, but it does a lot more than that.
- 18:08SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: Um and maintaining it is a huge nightmare.
- 18:13SPEAKER_04: You're right.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: It's it's constantly got problems, whether it's broken links or inaccurate information.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: So if we went to you and we said, okay, Elias, we need you to give us a new AI-powered website for this business, what does it cost?
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: How long does it take?
- 18:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, I realize you don't have to give me an exact number, but like what does a business like ours need to spend to move that to a new platform?
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: Uh so I mean, I'll give you three pricing uh structures.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: So like if this is a business that pretty standard five, 10 pages, they want a presence, they want a strong SEO, strong visibility, 2500 is what we're looking at.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: This is way more than that.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: So e-commerce.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: E-commerce, right?
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: So it could be it could range.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: So I can't give a hard number when it comes to that.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: I have to do an audit, look at all the information just to make sure, you know, we're we're not missing anything.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: Um, because you know, if if it's complex, that means there's probably other websites connected to it, right?
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Third-party platforms and plugins and all those kinds of things.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: And so the range could be five grand to fifteen grand, depending on the complexity.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: Um, but if we're talking about a SaaS site, you know, software as a service, that can go 20, 30, 40 grand, right?
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: So it's a lot more involved with when we're dealing with membership and subscriptions.
- 19:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're not talking about that in this case.
- 19:44SPEAKER_04: But we are talking about add-ons, we are talking about um blogs tied into it, we're talking about products.
- 19:52SPEAKER_04: The whole product portion of it is is uh typical Shopify uh you know powered um aspect.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: But it's just like it's got a million different problems.
- 20:04SPEAKER_04: And and I mean, what you're saying is is resounds with me.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: It needs to be fixed because the maintenance cost is really high right now.
- 20:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's probably built into old languages, stacked on top of other other and when changes get made, then people don't realize oh it's grew something like that.
- 20:23SPEAKER_05: It breaks something.
- 20:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, old.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and I think that's a very typical problem.
- 20:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: There's probably just like a million companies out there that have that problem.
- 20:33SPEAKER_04: Millions.
- 20:34SPEAKER_05: Is AI is it equipped yet?
- 20:36SPEAKER_05: Uh Elias, is is to to agentically generate a site for e-comm.
- 20:43SPEAKER_05: I mean, is that is that possible now?
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we can get it out.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: Like to where it can build shopping carts and checkout processes and ties the payment gateways and PayPals and all that other stuff?
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we can do it.
- 20:56SPEAKER_05: That's a pretty significant major deal.
- 20:59SPEAKER_05: I mean, I we used to do e-com back in the day.
- 21:01SPEAKER_05: I mean, e-com was a lot more expensive just because you had a lot of technical pipes to to to put together.
- 21:07SPEAKER_04: It was interesting.
- 21:07SPEAKER_04: Like, I've run websites through AI and go tell me what's wrong with it.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: Okay, but it gives me a list of 10 million things.
- 21:15SPEAKER_04: I don't, I don't want to sort through all that and fix it, you know.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: But I mean it's it's good um input.
- 21:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sure.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: But yeah, yep, go ahead.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I'd love to do an audit.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Just just send me information.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: I'll take a look at it.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Not a problem.
- 21:30SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's really cool.
- 21:31SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna do that.
- 21:32SPEAKER_04: Remind me after this show.
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: We're gonna do that.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Ready to level up your show?
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: At podcastvideos.com, we offer industry leading recording and expert marketing to help your show reach more listeners.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: From creation to distribution, we've got you covered.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Visit podcastvideos.com and elevate your podcast today.
- 21:51SPEAKER_05: So let's talk the last little bit about um, you know, lead generation, lead community.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: This is what I wanted to talk about.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: Is it?
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Because and I'm going to tell you why.
- 22:02SPEAKER_04: My I am convinced that the majority of companies, including again, some ones I'm involved with, generate a zillion leads and they do not adequately follow up and close on those leads.
- 22:16SPEAKER_04: There's more leads than we can process.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: And the excuse always is, well, their leads aren't that good, or there's too many to sort through to get to the good ones.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: So usually what I do is when I get on calls with essential clients or partners, um, I'll do like a quick demo of our process to kind of show them a little bit about like how it works as far as lead generation.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: Um, so we do partner with Go High Level uh to do a lot of our CRM and infrastructure work, uh especially AI integration as well.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: And so when it comes to lead conversion, it's very important, and this is so important, and this is something I've learned over the years too, is like you have to be very quick with responding to what they get that quick enough, they'll leave and they'll go to a competitor or they'll just go somewhere else.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: And so we set up our own entire system that you know we plug a lot of gaps.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: So there's a lot of gaps that we used to have.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Um, because you know, if you're you know going to sleep at night and somebody goes on your website and they're like, Hey, I I need help with this and I need it like tomorrow.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: And then you wake up and then then and then you reach out to them, it's like, oh well this the project is already done.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: So so the way that we set it up was with with AI assistance as well.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: And so from the text messaging to the forms to AI chat to follow-ups to email campaigns, it's all automated now.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: And so so when somebody contacts you, you can walk them through this whole process of of you know taking action.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: So they can either get, you know, you can set up an appointment if you want to book a meeting, you can have that automated.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: You can have a whole AI system have a conversation through a chat with them just to kind of get this, you know, dialogue going between AI and the and the potential client, the customer.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: And then you can actually jump into those conversations because usually they're real time, and then I'll get alerted on my phone, you know, when is when the activity is happening on the website.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: And so so it's very engaging the whole system that we build.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Um and so the whole thing's designed so that we don't necessarily lose leads, but also have qualified lead conversions.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: So we have to build it in a way where you're filtering out the trash, if you will, right?
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: You don't want spam and you know, solicitors like constantly bothering you about stuff, right?
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: So we so we build it in a way where we're attracting qualified leads, you know, that's within the target demographics.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: And then we're also making sure we prevent anyone else to to go through those those channels and funnels.
- 24:53SPEAKER_05: Is this a different service and process like outside of the website stuff you were mentioned before?
- 24:59SPEAKER_05: It's all one whole big system.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, really?
- 25:03SPEAKER_05: So like if somebody came to you and said, Hey, I need a site, you're also gonna develop a lead uh lead management conversion as pipeline?
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because most of our most of our client base is service-based companies, so it makes sense for them to do it.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: Um, but probably not like a you know influencer or somebody necessarily.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, because they're they're very product sales based.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, which I mean you could still market products through through the same system, it'll just have a different just a different outcome.
- 25:36SPEAKER_05: No, not necessarily just a different so kind of your specialty is like B2B service-based businesses, plumbing, electricians, gutter cleaning, all that type of stuff, right?
- 25:47SPEAKER_05: Well, that's B2C, a lot of those that you just mentioned.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: Plumbing, electrician, yeah.
- 25:53SPEAKER_04: Excuse me.
- 25:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like yeah, you're right.
- 25:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:56SPEAKER_05: I thought you were crazy at first.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: So yeah, they're B2C, but we're B2B.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: So they're so correct.
- 26:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, so you don't work with B2C companies?
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: Not very much.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: No.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: I don't work with customers directly that don't necessarily mean our services.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: So I work with business owners.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, mainly you're your B2B, their B2C.
- 26:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, okay.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 26:23SPEAKER_05: Why'd you confuse the entire thing?
- 26:25SPEAKER_05: I don't know shit.
- 26:25SPEAKER_05: I because you started it.
- 26:27SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 26:28SPEAKER_05: Because I was wrong.
- 26:29SPEAKER_05: You had to like point me out.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: I wasn't doing that.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: I was just trying to figure out what this guy does.
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: Because you're trying to do a hostile takeover, a big talk about small business?
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: I mean, you're wearing a nice button-down.
- 26:42SPEAKER_05: I look like an idiot over here in my t-shirt.
- 26:44SPEAKER_05: Hey, medium.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: What are you talking about?
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: You're promoting another one of your businesses.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: You're smart.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 26:51SPEAKER_05: You're not stupid at all.
- 26:53SPEAKER_05: So when you're working with these plumbers, like where are you are where are you?
- 26:56SPEAKER_05: I guess are you setting up social channels?
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: Is that where you're seeing a lot of the leads coming in or social media, like whether it's Instagram, TikTok, or whatever, and then you're piping that in?
- 27:06SPEAKER_05: And is that correct, first of all?
- 27:09SPEAKER_05: Like, is it social driving most of these leads?
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: No.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: So really I'll explain our, yeah, because the thing is where we're heading and how we're growing and scaling.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, our whole thing is is getting the most qualified leads spending less.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: And so I do have a presence across the web and all over the place.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: So I'll have social media channels that are for transform design.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: I'll have directories, online listings under transform design.
- 27:35SPEAKER_02: So I have presence pretty much all over the place.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: Syndicated press, you know, featured articles, podcasts, you know, personal brand, all that, all that's all working together.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: But I get a majority of my leads through direct traffic, through programmatic SEO.
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: And programmatic SEO is thousands of pages that we build out that people see online that come to our directly on our website from different locations in the states.
- 28:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 28:02SPEAKER_05: Interesting.
- 28:03SPEAKER_05: Uh so are you doing any advertising to draw those leads?
- 28:07SPEAKER_05: Or is this all organic?
- 28:09SPEAKER_05: It's all organic.
- 28:10SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: And I get qualified leads every day.
- 28:14SPEAKER_05: Uh explain this to me.
- 28:15SPEAKER_05: So programmatic SEO, it's just I guess the the model to that is just building thousands of different little landing pages in a way.
- 28:26SPEAKER_05: Is that correct?
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so the way it works with that is so yeah, thinking in terms of combination pages.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: So the way it works is you have location times industries times service.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: So like if you have a company that offers tons of services, then they can multiply those services on different locations throughout the US if they're remote.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Now, if they're just local, then you can still do programmatic SEO, but you're basically, you know, spreading your services all over that entire area that's local.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: So for example, you have like, you know, we're talking about plumbing, right?
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Uh plumbing in, you know, Denver, Colorado, and then and then all those surrounding cities in Denver, right?
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: You have pages for all of those cities and all those areas by zip code.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: And then all the pages are very, very specific and very they're different in the sense that they're not the same exact information, uh, but they do have the same combination for all the pages.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: Let me ask you this if I'm hitting the nail on the head, it the the reason this works is because it's hyper localization.
- 29:31SPEAKER_05: Is that correct?
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: Well, it's it's hyper-localization, but it's also high value.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: So if you have a good reputation online and you're trusted by search engines because of your of who you are that you do, and you do a good job, then they're gonna go ahead and validate those pages so that you can be seen more and get more visibility, more exposure.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: And so if you have thousands of pages within a certain local area, or if you work remote and you have pages all over the United States or even globally, you can show up in Australia or whatever, right?
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: And then that's that's visibility that you didn't have before.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: So when so when I'm talking about programmatic SEO, it's really SEO expansion.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: You're building out your digital real estate across the web.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: It's no different than Monopoly when you're just you know buying a bunch of houses.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: And so that's really what it comes down to is you want your your business to be seen everywhere, but you also want to have a reach that you when you get there organically.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: And programming SEO allows you to do that.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: That's really interesting.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so our site right now, uh to be transparent, we're at 34,000 index pages for transformdesign.com.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: And so I'm we're gonna scale it to about 50,000 by the end of the year.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm actually restructuring right now to focus more on the US because I scale out too much globally.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, you know, people from other countries have you know they may not hire us and they maybe maybe not, but but bring it in close tying it, you know, more uh in the US is is more ideal for us, I think.
- 30:58SPEAKER_04: I I'm glad you brought that up, Elias.
- 31:00SPEAKER_04: Um just give us a sense.
- 31:03SPEAKER_04: How is your business growing?
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: You've been in business for 17 years.
- 31:06SPEAKER_04: What is your business doing?
- 31:10SPEAKER_04: How is it growing?
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: It's like you know, up and down, you know, like the market.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: But since AI, since we did AI, it took off.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: So now this last six months has been pretty much like just uptrend me from on to month.
- 31:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: I mean, I think that's important, honestly.
- 31:28SPEAKER_04: If you want to sell marketing services, you better be able to demonstrate it works in your own business.
- 31:33SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 31:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and we have proof.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's all if you go on our Google uh reviews, you can see all the reviews we just got this past week.
- 31:42SPEAKER_02: We've got about 10 five-star reviews uh pretty quickly since the work we've been working with people.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: And we've been turning systems around about a week, like an entire brand, website, system, up and running business in about a week.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, using AI technology.
- 31:59SPEAKER_05: You know, one thing about in in um SEO, GEO, AEO, and now programmatic SEO, right, is like there is a I've always held this philosophy because people get get things pretty twisted up.
- 32:15SPEAKER_05: But it's basically at the end of the day, it's about telling the absolute truth, the deepest truth.
- 32:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and you're shaking your head like and so like the the robots they have like a self uh uh what what do you call it?
- 32:30SPEAKER_05: Um like a self-paradox.
- 32:35SPEAKER_05: If Google doesn't tell you and give you the best result, it actually hurts itself.
- 32:39SPEAKER_05: And so what it's trying to do is is to make dag um damn sure that what you're saying is legit before I put it in front of me, sure, a user.
- 32:50SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 32:51SPEAKER_05: And so uh answer engines are in the same exact trap, right?
- 32:56SPEAKER_05: It's always looking for validation, basically.
- 32:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's all about validation credibility.
- 33:01SPEAKER_05: It's this and it's the same thing that you as a customer want.
- 33:03SPEAKER_05: Like, and it's just a it's an it's an expedited scaled version of basically a narc.
- 33:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right.
- 33:10SPEAKER_05: You know what I'm saying?
- 33:11SPEAKER_05: And a validator.
- 33:12SPEAKER_05: And then but so with that, like your practices, like you just mentioned reviews, and the warning sign that I think an entrepreneur need to hear is like, oh, I got I got you 500 reviews or 5,000 reviews last week, and that's gonna bolster your SEO.
- 33:30SPEAKER_05: But that's not what Elias said.
- 33:31SPEAKER_05: He said, We got check out our reviews, we got five last week, and that's actually a big prize, like you, because they're actually probably true, not uh spam-related types of reviews, right?
- 33:43SPEAKER_05: And so there's a lot of rules that Elias has to follow in this thing.
- 33:46SPEAKER_05: And then when you get into programmatic, like the thing that scares me about that word is that it could be like another shortcut, but it doesn't sound like like there's a proper way to do programmatic, right?
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: There's a right way to do it.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: And it took us about five months to get there.
- 34:03unknown: Okay.
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: 33,000 pages.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: So it's so it's not like it's a you do it and you're just like, you know, publicly indexed across the web in like a week.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: So so but it we gradually build over time.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: And so that's why it's worn about having a good relationship with business businesses, is because it's if we're in it for the long run, it's gonna take time to grow and scale businesses.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: So uh so that so I can own that with that, with that mentality, knowing like, are we gonna be able to work together long term?
- 34:31SPEAKER_02: Because if not, then we're not gonna see the results that we're looking to achieve.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 34:36SPEAKER_05: Perfect.
- 34:37SPEAKER_05: Well, hey, Elias, you got any final comments that you want to give to our listeners about marketing in today's crazy freaking AI-driven time.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, you can use AI marketing too, but you know, it's it but but start organically and then build towards build towards that.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: And then, you know, of course, I understand you want to get traffic quickly, so marketing maybe the way to go to make sense for your business.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I'd love to talk to anyone who has questions.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: You know, you can reach me at transformdesign.com, elecuris.com.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: I'm all on social media, pretty active.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: So um, but I'd be happy to answer questions.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: So thank you.
- 35:12SPEAKER_04: I got two different websites I want you to look at.
- 35:15SPEAKER_04: They're radically different.
- 35:16SPEAKER_04: One's very simple, it's e-commerce, very, very simple, too simple.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: The other one's ridiculously complex.
- 35:24SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 35:24SPEAKER_04: Now you mentioned, though, before we get off, you mentioned something about CRM.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: You work with other CRM integrations, or do you have to convert everybody to a different platform?
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: I use Go High Level.
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're they're pretty solid and strong with that.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: So I I I use them as a tool in a scale, they're very good at scaling.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: And so I and and then also all the AI configurations.
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: I try to keep everything in one place, make it convenient.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: So it works out a little bit.
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: Perfect.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: Well, hey, thanks a lot for spending time with us today.
- 35:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, absolutely.
- 35:57SPEAKER_05: And and and listeners, if you ever have a question that you want to throw out about a business, holler at us.
- 36:03SPEAKER_05: Shoot us a you know, go to our website.
- 36:05SPEAKER_05: There's a contact form on there.
- 36:07SPEAKER_05: Ask us any question about business.
- 36:08SPEAKER_05: We want to hear about it.
- 36:09SPEAKER_05: If you want to have another guest come back on the show, say it.
- 36:13SPEAKER_05: If you want to be on the show, let us know.
- 36:15SPEAKER_05: We may not have you, we may not allow we could screen you out if we don't think you're gonna help our.
- 36:21SPEAKER_05: We may you may get rejected, but that's okay.
- 36:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, just keep trying.
- 36:26SPEAKER_04: Just ask.
- 36:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:28SPEAKER_05: So, yeah, good point, Eric.
- 36:30SPEAKER_05: Thanks for saying that.
- 36:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and you know, this is I really enjoy this conversation.
- 36:34SPEAKER_05: We talked a lot about SEO.
- 36:35SPEAKER_05: We talked about GEO, we're domestifying, programmatic SEO, and answer engine optimization.
- 36:41SPEAKER_05: A lot of these things that are going out in today's time that are bound to be confusing to any entrepreneur that's out there.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: Like, how in the hell am I supposed to operate in this?
- 36:49SPEAKER_05: You don't have to know everything.
- 36:51SPEAKER_05: You have experts like Elias Curtis that have that have the ability to do that.
- 36:55SPEAKER_05: Always go for the experts.

- 37:00SPEAKER_05: If you're an entrepreneur and you're doing business by yourself or trying to build a company, you're not supposed to know everything at the side.
- 37:06SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 37:06SPEAKER_05: You're supposed to know a few things really great, go deep and be a great people chooser, build a good team, make sure the vision stays clear, and then hire the experts to help you along the way.
- 37:17SPEAKER_05: It will save you a tremendous amount of money and headache and heartache, and uh might keep you married instead of having hundreds of divorces, like some of us have.
