Lubbock’s got a new Texas Historical Marker honoring the OG Hubbers—Lubbock’s first pro baseball team since 1922—and the groundbreaking Black Hubbers, Lubbock’s first African-American semi-pro squad since 1928. Both teams packed wins and championships before fading in the 50s. The marker’s going up near the old ballpark at University & Baylor—dedication this Saturday at 10 AM.
