- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I am six forty bill Handle here on a Friday morning,
- 0:15Speaker 2: and we still have another hour to go. I also
- 0:18Speaker 2: want to remind you Neil's show tomorrow from two to
- 0:21Speaker 2: five is going to be at Wendy's and Mission Viah.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I will join him and we are going to eat
- 0:28Speaker 2: like completely sloths and pigs, because that's what we do.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Well. They have great salads too.
- 0:33Speaker 2: They do. Yeah, but food will be flying out of
- 0:36Speaker 2: our mouths for three full hours. Okay, it's time for
- 0:40Speaker 2: foody Friday. And that's what happens with Neil and me.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So before we get to the Costco story, I want
- 0:50Speaker 2: to get into the Tupperware story. Tupperware, of course everybody knows,
- 0:55Speaker 2: are those plastic storage containers that are made of plastic
- 1:01Speaker 2: that people buy because they are plastic, and Neil there's
- 1:07Speaker 2: a story orgulately.
- 1:08Speaker 4: If you put spaghetti in them, once they turned, they
- 1:12Speaker 4: look like President Trump right afterwards. They just you can
- 1:17Speaker 4: never get that spaghetti sauce out. However, we've heard that
- 1:21Speaker 4: Tupperware obviously has been going through some issues because they've
- 1:25Speaker 4: been around forever. But you know, there's more brands on
- 1:28Speaker 4: the market, there's other options, but this story was interesting
- 1:33Speaker 4: as it looked at the first time in the eighty
- 1:36Speaker 4: year history of Tupperware. This past September, they launched something
- 1:41Speaker 4: called Wi La. It is Tupperware's glass line and it's
- 1:48Speaker 4: it hit the market and right before Thanksgiving. This is
- 1:51Speaker 4: kind of them going against Anchor, Hockey or Pyrex or
- 1:55Speaker 4: those types of things. But they have these glass dishes
- 1:59Speaker 4: now and the cool thing about them they have the
- 2:02Speaker 4: lids for them.
- 2:03Speaker 3: But their microwaves, say.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Re refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, even under a broiler, they can be used.
- 2:10Speaker 4: They can be cooked in, so your cast roles and
- 2:13Speaker 4: things like that can go from the refrigerator into the oven.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Wow. And okay, that's just kind of neat.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Yeah, this is something that you know that prep for
- 2:27Speaker 4: Thanksgiving and go straight from the refrigerator.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Okay, makes sense. That resonates Joila. That makes sense now.
- 2:33Speaker 4: So I just thought this was a nice and they're
- 2:36Speaker 4: they're not expensive. It's sixty five bucks right now for
- 2:38Speaker 4: a set of four of the containers.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Uh, and you go to Tupperware dot com.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Okay, Now there's my question. Do they still do Tupperware
- 2:46Speaker 2: parties because this thing was sold at Tupperware parties for
- 2:50Speaker 2: years and years. That was their model. As a matter
- 2:52Speaker 2: of fact, you couldn't.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Buy them retail.
- 2:54Speaker 4: I remember going to Tupperware parties because I would you know,
- 2:57Speaker 4: I have always liked the food, you know, saving in
- 3:01Speaker 4: the in the tech of Tumperware. I don't know if
- 3:05Speaker 4: they still have parties. If they do, they have diminished.
- 3:08Speaker 4: They've been really struggling to be relevant because there are
- 3:13Speaker 4: so many different options.
- 3:14Speaker 2: And by the way, they were not inexpensive. Today they're competitive,
- 3:19Speaker 2: high quality. Yeah, no, I'm not arguing that at all.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And when you were the only guy in the Temperware party,
- 3:24Speaker 2: right yeah, she was.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Yes, I absolutely was nice way to pick up women,
- 3:32Speaker 4: for sure.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Exactly. It's like being the only straight guy in a
- 3:34Speaker 2: chorus in a musical, in the chorus, right yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I'll take Okay, fair enough, odds properly, But I just thought, uh,
- 3:43Speaker 4: you know, these are a nice set. It's it's fairly Uh,
- 3:48Speaker 4: it's well priced and if people are interested now it's
- 3:51Speaker 4: a good time because Thanksgiving and the holidays are coming,
- 3:54Speaker 4: and who doesn't need more food containers?
- 3:57Speaker 2: Fair enough? Okay, I think we have no wet Let
- 4:00Speaker 2: me take an early break because I want to get
- 4:02Speaker 2: into Thanksgiving bundles. Yeah, you buy Thanksgiving Walmart much cheaper.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And the President is making a very big deal of
- 4:13Speaker 2: the fact that Walmart is selling the Thanksgiving bundles this
- 4:17Speaker 2: year for far less than last year, leaving out the
- 4:19Speaker 2: fact that it's basically one can of yams and that
- 4:23Speaker 2: is it. That's your Thanksgiving?
- 4:25Speaker 3: How long before we get trump Mart? Trump Mart?
- 4:29Speaker 2: All right, a couple of things, the grocery store, the
- 4:31Speaker 2: Thanksgiving bundles, and a lot of people buy their packages
- 4:37Speaker 2: of Thanksgiving, which I'm doing. You know, I'm not going
- 4:40Speaker 2: to cook. You know, I'm going to deli. Here we go.
- 4:44Speaker 2: There's eight of us, give me eight dinners. So what's
- 4:46Speaker 2: going on with this?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Well, this is kind of a hybrid.
- 4:50Speaker 4: You're if you're going to be purchasing all the you know,
- 4:53Speaker 4: we tend to eat the same things around Thanksgiving, right,
- 4:58Speaker 4: So places like all the and Costco of course, and
- 5:03Speaker 4: I think even Sam's Club and Target they're putting together
- 5:07Speaker 4: these bundles, and I think it's kind of a smart idea.
- 5:09Speaker 4: So rather than just grabbing things off the shelf and
- 5:13Speaker 4: hoping that you're going to hit a particular dollar mark.
- 5:18Speaker 3: For the staples.
- 5:20Speaker 4: They're putting together these lists, and most of them around
- 5:24Speaker 4: the forty dollars mark, which is about four. It feeds
- 5:27Speaker 4: ten or serves ten, and that means it's about four
- 5:29Speaker 4: dollars per person. So you're talking the turkey, chicken broth,
- 5:34Speaker 4: condensed cream of mushroom soup which a lot of people use,
- 5:37Speaker 4: evaporated milkoins, sweet rolls, all these things. These lists, yellow onions,
- 5:43Speaker 4: baby peeled care, it's celery, cranberries, pie crust.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That you can and that's one package you buy.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, these are broken up to feed ten people or
- 5:54Speaker 4: to serve ten people.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Now, this is not pre cooked. We're not talking about buying.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It's you put it, you heat it up, put it
- 6:01Speaker 2: on the table, let's go, let's let's go eat.
- 6:04Speaker 3: No, this is the ingredients to make these things.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it. I do it the other way
- 6:09Speaker 2: because I'm lazy. I'm just incredibly lazy. As you know.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Well, if you get into doing it the other way,
- 6:15Speaker 4: there are options. Of course, this is just for people
- 6:18Speaker 4: that are like, hey, if we're going to have a
- 6:22Speaker 4: lot of people over, or you don't want to have
- 6:26Speaker 4: to worry about having all the ingredients they're put in
- 6:29Speaker 4: these bundles, and I think it's smart.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Now.
- 6:31Speaker 4: They did a recent study and when they broke down,
- 6:34Speaker 4: especially on the turkeys and stuff, the cheapest place or
- 6:38Speaker 4: the least expensive place to get your turkey, uh and
- 6:43Speaker 4: the fixens came out with Walmart.
- 6:46Speaker 3: And that's not a huge surprise.
- 6:48Speaker 4: But as far as the turkeys and stuff like that,
- 6:50Speaker 4: if you want it to be done for you, you
- 6:53Speaker 4: know pop Eyes.
- 6:54Speaker 3: You and I enjoy pop Eyes. We haven't gone in
- 6:56Speaker 3: a while, but.
- 6:57Speaker 4: They do occasion turkey, a whole cooked Cajun turkey that
- 7:03Speaker 4: you can order by calling your local Popeyes and you
- 7:09Speaker 4: can pick it up right there at the store. And
- 7:11Speaker 4: I think it's like eighty dollars or something like that,
- 7:13Speaker 4: but that's not that's.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Not inexpensive, but it is obviously different. Yeah, and it's
- 7:18Speaker 2: different than your traditional turkey, which frankly is dry as hell.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I mean, one of the things about Thanksgiving meals is
- 7:24Speaker 2: they're fairly tasteless. It's just there's not a whole lot there.
- 7:28Speaker 3: How dare you The only thing tasteless here is you, sir?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 7:32Speaker 4: The turkey I think, when done right and when they're juicy.
- 7:35Speaker 4: I think turkey is very delicious, especially the next day
- 7:38Speaker 4: on a sandwich.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Oh good night.
- 7:41Speaker 2: All right, let's do one more. And of course it's
- 7:44Speaker 2: a Costco story. The best Thanksgiving sides.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Okay, so this is great.
- 7:49Speaker 4: If you're looking to cut corners, you want the pre meal,
- 7:52Speaker 4: you know, pre made stuff. Costco is going to be
- 7:55Speaker 4: a great place. They've got their Kirkland signs. At your
- 8:00Speaker 4: broccoli salad, it's got walnuts, it's got a dressing with it,
- 8:03Speaker 4: the Kirkland signature cranberry walnut round.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I have one of those right now. Yesterday I had
- 8:11Speaker 2: a sandwich ham and cheese on the cranberry walnut bread. HM.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Fabulous, nice, very simple. But can add the potato and
- 8:20Speaker 4: cheese pirogis. If you want a little appetizer. They've got
- 8:24Speaker 4: the scalloped potatoes. That's the main Street bistro scaloped potatoes there,
- 8:29Speaker 4: they've got the signature. These come on now, garlic parmesan
- 8:33Speaker 4: dinner rolls come on.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And their mac and cheese is spectacular.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Their mac and cheese is one of the big ones.
- 8:42Speaker 4: As a matter of fact, if I don't get time,
- 8:44Speaker 4: that's the dish I've got to make this year. If
- 8:46Speaker 4: I don't have time to make it, I'm gonna grab
- 8:48Speaker 4: those because oh yeah, they're excellent. So and you can
- 8:52Speaker 4: get your turkeys.
- 8:53Speaker 2: There big difference between fresh and frozen turkeys. Big difference
- 8:56Speaker 2: between turkeys with and without feathers.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So it's a little too fresh, the beak a little
- 9:03Speaker 3: too fresh.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, So what do you do? Do you go frozen
- 9:08Speaker 2: or fresh? It's a lot more money for fresh, a
- 9:11Speaker 2: lot more money.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It depends. I go both.
- 9:15Speaker 4: And I don't have a problem with a frozen turkey
- 9:16Speaker 4: at all. It's it's still the quality of the bird.
- 9:18Speaker 4: You're better off getting a smaller bird, getting two of
- 9:21Speaker 4: them than getting one twenty five pound because the truth is,
- 9:25Speaker 4: turkeys don't grow that big naturally.
- 9:28Speaker 2: No, I know, they're I mean, you know, the birds
- 9:32Speaker 2: just you know, they actually will. They're so top heavy
- 9:36Speaker 2: that they can actually fall over. I mean, it's just
- 9:40Speaker 2: just way top heavy. I like Michelle, who is incredibly
- 9:44Speaker 2: top heavy.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Leave producer Michelle alone. Okay, but it is funny when
- 9:50Speaker 4: she tips over.
- 9:51Speaker 2: It certainly is. It's like tipping over a cow, you know,
- 9:55Speaker 2: just you.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Press it a back And that's the term you want
- 9:57Speaker 4: to use well, no, I'm not comparing.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I'm not comparing her to a cow, but I am
- 10:03Speaker 2: comparing tipping her over just by uh huh.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Okay, I swear to God I'll come slap you.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Uh that We're done with this. Okay, let's get right
- 10:14Speaker 2: into it. Ask handle anything, where you ask handle anything.
- 10:19Speaker 2: We record the questions, Neil chooses them, and they're as
- 10:23Speaker 2: humiliating as possible. Okay, cono, first question.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Good morning, mister, Please ask mister handle what his hardest
- 10:30Speaker 1: class in law school was. I imagine it was all reading,
- 10:35Speaker 1: nothing but reading. What was his hardest class and why
- 10:39Speaker 1: in law school?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 10:41Speaker 4: Hey, what was your hardest class in law school?
- 10:45Speaker 3: And why? It was all reading?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Everything is reading in law school, I would sink. My
- 10:52Speaker 2: hardest class was that I had the most difficult time
- 10:56Speaker 2: with was under charging clients. That one I had a
- 11:00Speaker 2: tough one, probably criminal procedure, you know, and constitutional law
- 11:06Speaker 2: were pretty tough. So contracts were pretty tough for that
- 11:11Speaker 2: was first year, so administrative law was tough. I had
- 11:16Speaker 2: a lot of tough classes. Okay, good question.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Girls react when you told them you were leaving their
- 11:25Speaker 3: mother for a much younger woman. Yeah, you said, how
- 11:33Speaker 3: did your girls react when.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Oh, how did your girls react?
- 11:39Speaker 5: Not well?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Not well now, I mean they have no love Lindsey.
- 11:45Speaker 2: And by the way, she's not that much younger. I mean,
- 11:47Speaker 2: we make a big deal about how much younger she was.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I mean, granted I had to wait until she graduated
- 11:54Speaker 2: high school before we could have sex because I didn't
- 11:56Speaker 2: want to be arrested. But for the most part, yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 2: they didn't take it very well. They're fine now. But
- 12:02Speaker 2: that's a good question. Okay, Hi Bill, I have three
- 12:07Speaker 2: yes or no questions for you. Do you think in
- 12:11Speaker 2: your lifetime you will see manned flight to Mars, a
- 12:14Speaker 2: woman US president, and democracy in Russia?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Thanks very much?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and maybe really yeah, I think I might
- 12:25Speaker 2: be Russia. Maybe maybe that's so maybe you know, I mean,
- 12:30Speaker 2: at some point Putin's gonna die and Putin controls everything.
- 12:34Speaker 2: You know, for example, when you know at the end
- 12:37Speaker 2: of Trump's term and let's say jd Vance runs and wins,
- 12:42Speaker 2: it's not going to be the same presidency. It will
- 12:44Speaker 2: never be the same presidency as President Trump. That'll just
- 12:47Speaker 2: never happen. So yeah, we might we might see a
- 12:51Speaker 2: democracy and then the first two or yes, yes, definitely
- 12:55Speaker 2: marsh and yes to the first one, which I've completely forgotten.
- 12:59Speaker 3: What he asked about a woman president.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, I don't think.
- 13:03Speaker 3: A woman president's a big deal.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Well, you know, here's the problem. What we certainly, I'll
- 13:08Speaker 2: tell you, what we can't have is a woman who
- 13:12Speaker 2: is still has and she still has her period every month.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We have to have a postmenopausal woman because we cannot
- 13:20Speaker 2: take a chance of someone pressing the button every twenty
- 13:24Speaker 2: eight days. Really yeah, wow, Okay.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Kim Conway, Junior ladies and gentlemen, one.
- 13:35Speaker 2: More till we take a break.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Hi, I wanted to know when you were purchasing outdoor
- 13:43Speaker 5: furniture and your designer recommended furniture.
- 13:46Speaker 2: That would last.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Was that part of Dean Sharp's advice? And also was
- 13:51Speaker 5: Dean involved in your home remodel and design?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 13:55Speaker 2: And also as good question.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Ah, my love to Neil and Dean, thank you.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, the answer is Neil was a Dean was not
- 14:04Speaker 2: involved in my purchase and yes, furniture that last outdoor furniture.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I had no idea how expensive good outdoor furniture.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, for the good stuff.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It is science fiction because it is outside because of
- 14:22Speaker 2: the sun. Because of the weather goes up and down,
- 14:25Speaker 2: and it costs far more than the furniture inside my house.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I will tell you this. You know, I love.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Doug and the whole gang over there at Outdoor Elegance,
- 14:36Speaker 4: I will tell them, And that's who I purchased mine from.
- 14:39Speaker 4: It is red, and it is in the sun constantly,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and there is no shift in colors. And it's got
- 14:47Speaker 4: to be at least eight years old.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but you pay big money for that. Yeah, yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 2: I mean that's the reality. I mean it's yeah. So
- 14:54Speaker 2: I did it on my we did it on our
- 14:57Speaker 2: own and it's what we shop. Then we took a
- 15:01Speaker 2: look and I mean we had a pretty good deal.
- 15:03Speaker 2: A lot of there's it's seconds. I mean there's a
- 15:05Speaker 2: lot of fading there. They got a lot of patches
- 15:08Speaker 2: that are on that furniture.
- 15:09Speaker 3: And did you ever get the Motel six logo off
- 15:14Speaker 3: of it?
- 15:15Speaker 2: No, No, it's still there. Before we get to the
- 15:19Speaker 2: next question, Neil a mention about.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Disney Absolutely, the holidays are here at the Disneyland Resort
- 15:27Speaker 4: and KFI wants to give you a chance to enjoy
- 15:29Speaker 4: an unbelievable season during the Disneyland Resort seventieth celebration, so
- 15:34Speaker 4: you can experience seasonal celebrations at Disney Festival of Holidays
- 15:39Speaker 4: and the night Time Spectacular, World of Color, Happiness at
- 15:43Speaker 4: California Adventure Park, and of course, over at Disneyland Park,
- 15:46Speaker 4: you can rediscover holiday classics like the Fireworks Spectacular, Believe
- 15:51Speaker 4: In Holiday Magic, a Christmas Fantasy Parade, and so much more.

- 15:59Speaker 4: four pack of one day, one park tickets to Disneyland

- 16:07Speaker 4: through January seventh. Offering subject to restrictions and change without notice.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Okay, let's do it. We finish ask handle anything on
- 16:17Speaker 2: this Friday. KNO.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Next question George from North rich Bill.
- 16:22Speaker 6: I hear you talking about we do of people having
- 16:25Speaker 6: to work on the holidays that will be Thanksgiving or
- 16:29Speaker 6: let's say Christmas or whatever holiday. Well, I know there's certain.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Jobs that require people to be there.
- 16:35Speaker 6: But you know you're talking about the radio stations. Do
- 16:37Speaker 6: you think AI can can be applied to those days?
- 16:40Speaker 6: We're rather than to have a human come in, you
- 16:42Speaker 6: just have AI run the show.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what, that's actually a good question too.
- 16:47Speaker 2: We're playing with that to find out, you know how AI.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Let me tell you if it works. You can to
- 16:53Speaker 2: see AI running the show three hundred and sixty five
- 16:56Speaker 2: days a year. Well, we looked for a couple of dollars.
- 17:00Speaker 3: And a monkey's doing conna.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Yeah, but they got bumped.
- 17:04Speaker 2: They were overqualified, well said, well said. Okay, another question.
- 17:10Speaker 7: Hey, Bill, here's my question for you this morning. I
- 17:14Speaker 7: know you probably are quite aware of what the Mile
- 17:17Speaker 7: High Club is, and I don't care if you're remember.
- 17:19Speaker 7: I am curious though, that elevator you've installed in your home.
- 17:25Speaker 7: Are you a member of the Elevator Club? Just curious?
- 17:29Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean it's it's my eighteen foot high
- 17:34Speaker 2: Mile High Club, eighteen foot High Club, And no, I
- 17:39Speaker 2: have not engaged in stripping in my elevator.
- 17:43Speaker 4: How long does it take to get from the bottom
- 17:45Speaker 4: floor to the top floor?
- 17:46Speaker 2: You know, it's a pneumatic elevator, so it takes from
- 17:49Speaker 2: first to second floor it takes about eighteen seconds. They're
- 17:53Speaker 2: pretty slow, and then time and then going yeah I
- 17:57Speaker 2: can do it, Yeah I can three times, and then
- 17:59Speaker 2: going down it takes longer because it's pneumatic and the
- 18:03Speaker 2: air escapes. But anyway, it's no, I have not. I
- 18:08Speaker 2: have not, but yeah I have not. Okay, cono Bill,
- 18:14Speaker 2: I'm curious.
- 18:15Speaker 6: My question is this. A lot of people will talk
- 18:17Speaker 6: about owning gold. My question to you is, if you
- 18:21Speaker 6: do own gold, do you physically have it in your
- 18:24Speaker 6: hands or is it somewhere stored for you? And if
- 18:27Speaker 6: you say you have it in your hand, so what
- 18:29Speaker 6: value is it? If you don't go away, you can't
- 18:31Speaker 6: buy anything with it? Or how do you cash it out?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Okay, that is a very good question, and you have
- 18:37Speaker 2: a choice of how you hold gold. You can physically
- 18:40Speaker 2: have it in your house. I have a little bit
- 18:43Speaker 2: of gold. I use it as a doorstop. You can
- 18:46Speaker 2: store it, it's easy to cash it out. Who's ever
- 18:50Speaker 2: holding your gold? Like I do spots for lear Capital,
