- 0:01Hey everybody, it's Dusty V here.
- 0:03I just wanted to let you know that the following episode
- 0:06featuring Steve of Bully and Bulk on Instagram, umm, the
- 0:12audio might sound a little weird.
- 0:13I had to pull the audio from the video recording that we did
- 0:18because I had a bunch of my equipment stolen and some of
- 0:24that equipment had the original audio recording that we did with
- 0:28Steve. So just a fair warning that the
- 0:31audio is not quite up to the standard that I try to push out
- 0:38for our episodes and in general. And hopefully we can get Steve
- 0:43on to do another show with us. Thanks ladies and gentlemen, you
- 0:57are now tuned into another episode of Here's to You, the
- 1:02podcast. I am your host and producer,
- 1:09Dusty V. Sitting next to me with her blue
- 1:12hair is 5 milli Fanny. Milligram. 5 Milli, Fanny.
- 1:19And. Today, our guest in studio is
- 1:23our dear friend and dear friend of one of our other dear
- 1:26friends, Eddie. It's Steve.
- 1:28Hell yeah. How you guys doing?
- 1:30Good. How are you doing?
- 1:31I'm good I just want to introduce myself Steve Punyagua.
- 1:34You can find me under bullying bulk on all my platforms.
- 1:38Just so you guys know I am smart, handsome, strong and buff
- 1:42Yes you are. So if you guys do want to make
- 1:43sure you guys have. Yeah.
- 1:47How you doing today, Steve? Dude, it's really fucking high
- 1:49here. Not in here, but like, in
- 1:52general, yeah. And, like, my office's, like,
- 1:55air conditioning is off, so it sucks, Yeah.
- 1:58But no, I just just. Yeah, but you're also really
- 2:03strong. But and handsome and smart and
- 2:05smart. Yeah, Just make sure you know
- 2:06that. And then you know that.
- 2:07Yeah, I know that. Yeah.
- 2:09But we're in here to make sure everyone.
- 2:10Yeah, everyone knows that. You guys should just look me up
- 2:12and you'll see it on there. He'll laugh in a little bit.
- 2:14You'll be excited. Yeah, you can see the handsome.
- 2:17Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just look into the eyes.
- 2:19Yeah, that's exactly what it. Is yeah, yeah.
- 2:21And then mesmerize instantly. But it is fucking hot.
- 2:25It is. It is.
- 2:26Dusty's dad is currently at an airport right now.
- 2:30Yeah, he's in South Korea and I can only imagine all the hotness
- 2:34that's walking by him right now. Not talking about the heat.
- 2:38Oh, OK, That was that wasn't implied.
- 2:40I didn't pick up on that. Thank you.
- 2:42Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:44You know, I'm just even though I'm super smart.
- 2:47Yeah, you see that? I didn't pick up on that.
- 2:49It's because I'm not that smart sometimes.
- 2:52Oh, and. If you still haven't picked up
- 2:56on it, there's a lot of baddies in South Korea.
- 2:58Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 3:01That's the good one. Yes, North Korea is the bad one,
- 3:04correct? Yes, baddies there too.
- 3:08Yeah, not in the sense that we like though.
- 3:12Yeah, like 'cause they're yeah. They're like.
- 3:16Bad, bad and and we like bad we. Like bad.
- 3:23Bad. Oh, OK, That's that's yeah.
- 3:26That's really changes it, yeah. That really cleared things up
- 3:29for me, 'cause that was, that was really hard.
- 3:31Yeah. So, speaking, you're not from
- 3:33South Korea. No, not right now.
- 3:36No, no, right now. You don't identify.
- 3:39No, no, not. People confuse me for Asian or
- 3:42like Samoan, so I get that a lot.
- 3:43It's like, oh, is this guy Asian?
- 3:45And I'm like, how I kind of wish a little bit though, you know
- 3:48what I mean? Yeah, like why?
- 3:49Because it's a really cool culture.
- 3:51Yeah, now they are. Oh.
- 3:52That was that was really tell that was a micro aggression,
- 3:56micro aggression. Tour too.
- 3:58Like all general Asian. I was like, oh I I love Asia,
- 4:01you know what I mean? That's weird as hell.
- 4:04Yeah, yeah, yeah. I really enjoy Laotian food,
- 4:08Vietnamese food and traditional Chinese and say that, so I would
- 4:15prefer to be from one of those. Yeah, fair.
- 4:18Yeah, Yeah. See.
- 4:20Well, you're a Laotian, though. I like Korean food too.
- 4:22I like Korean food. Yeah, I like Japanese food too.
- 4:24I like. That's my thoughts.
- 4:28Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They're shit slabs.
- 4:31Yeah, pretty good. Their weddings are so
- 4:33interesting too. Yeah, they're, they're adorned.
- 4:36Yeah. I mean, they're, they're decked
- 4:38out. Yeah, they are like they got
- 4:40hella money. Yeah, or or not, you know, their
- 4:43whole lives for these five day weddings.
- 4:45Yeah, man. In between.
- 4:47Yeah, yeah, I like those people too.
- 4:50Those. People, it's great.
- 4:52I like all the Asians. The Asians are cool.
- 4:55The Asians are cool. I fuck with them.
- 4:57Oh yeah, yeah, so. But.
- 4:59I used to get confused that Samoan.
- 5:02Right. So I know what you mean there.
- 5:04Dude, I think it sucks for me because I'm so fucking big.
- 5:06Like people are just like, oh, this guy's Samoan automatically
- 5:09because listen, yeah, like I don't think it's like a a bad
- 5:12thing. Like I again, handsome, strong
- 5:14buff, buff. Yeah, but but I'm also like, I
- 5:18gotta break it to them that I'm Mexican and it's always a little
- 5:20bit of disappointment when I say, oh, I'm actually Mexican.
- 5:24And then they're like, oh, you're Machista.
- 5:26Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what it is.
- 5:28Yeah, they always think Red Pill to tell that's what they think.
- 5:32Yeah, they always think you're Latinos for Trump.
- 5:34That's exactly what it is. I'm kidding.
- 5:37Fuck. So where, where, Where are you
- 5:40from? Born Born and raised in Chicago,
- 5:43OK left when I was 17, moved to Dodge City.
- 5:47You. Left your family?
- 5:48No. No, I don't.
- 5:50Know we came as a family because Dodge has a lot of Mexicans and
- 5:53so moved to moved to Dodge and then moved here to Wichita so I
- 5:57claim Chicago. Because you grew up there, yeah.
- 6:01Yeah, so I I try not to claim dodge.
- 6:05That's why you don't like the Mexican.
- 6:07Well, I don't know about that. It's just have you been?
- 6:10You've been a dog. I grew from dog.
- 6:12No, I'm I'm from Sacatecas. Uh huh.
- 6:16That's where I'm from. I grew up in Dodge.
- 6:18You got really upset that then I said you were from Dodge.
- 6:21Yeah. So now think about that.
- 6:23Because because I claim Mexico before I claim America.
- 6:27Fair. Yeah, fair or United States or
- 6:29whatever. Fair.
- 6:30Like sometimes, like everything that's going on right now, I'll
- 6:33be like, Oh yeah, the states did that.
- 6:34And then my friends will be like, what the fuck?
- 6:35And I'm like, Oh yeah, I'm part of the states.
- 6:39I'm like, no, no, I'm Mexican. Yeah, I just grew up here.
- 6:44I'm trying to go back. Trying to go back, Yeah, self
- 6:47deport. Yeah, I'm trying to crazy.
- 6:50Yeah. Like for to permanently live
- 6:52there. I mean, at least for some time.
- 6:54It'd be really cool. Yeah, that I think that would be
- 6:55really cool actually. Yeah.
- 6:56I haven't been to Mexico in like since I was 8.
- 7:00I'm going back actually this August, I'm going to, well, I'm
- 7:04going to Mexico City. My family's really Jokhan.
- 7:06OK, so but we're I'm going to Mexico City for like a bachelor
- 7:09party, so that's going to be kind of cool.
- 7:11I'm really nervous. I'm nervous.
- 7:13Oh, I, this is only my second time flying.
- 7:16Oh, I went to Philly like last year or the year before that,
- 7:19and that was my first time flying.
- 7:21I mean, flying, you know, OK, since I've been adults.
- 7:24So it's been really scary. Oh, and I'm like, I'm gonna
- 7:27throw up on the plane and then I'm also going with what, your
- 7:29dudes, you know what I mean? So.
- 7:30They're just gonna be become what they.
- 7:32Yeah, man, they're gonna be, you know, I'm gonna have to kiss
- 7:34them and I don't want to throw up and.
- 7:36You don't want to throw up after them and then be yeah.
- 7:39And then? It's so.
- 7:40Rude it. Is it's like when you kiss your
- 7:41friends, you can't throw up? No.
- 7:42No, no, because then you have. To enjoy it, there's some.
- 7:45Denise gets it right, Josh. We have unpaid interns in our
- 7:51room too, by the way. Thankfully, finally, we haven't
- 7:54had any in a while. Shout out to Denise and Josh.
- 7:57But yeah, they enjoy kissing the homies too.
- 7:59Yeah, hell yeah, in general, Like we all kiss the homies.
- 8:01Oh hell yeah, Dusty does too. I I feel, I feel in my place.
- 8:04Yeah, exactly. Yeah, but I think you'll be
- 8:07fine. Like, you know, there's been
- 8:09some plane crashes. How how long is the flight?
- 8:12Yeah. Think about that.
- 8:17I didn't make it go any better. This is, you know, maybe I just
- 8:21won't go now that I think about you could drive all the plane
- 8:25crashes. Oh, I'm going to drive to.
- 8:28We drive. We drive to Sacatecas.
- 8:31Regards of family. I have no ass.
- 8:33I will not be able to sit for that one, but to be honest.
- 8:39But you're funny, you're smart, you're handsome, and you're
- 8:42strong. You're right, I could get
- 8:43someone to pay for me exactly that's.
- 8:44Exactly right. We always have to, yeah.
- 8:46Yeah, got to put it out there. I got to really think Mama
- 8:49mentality. Abundance.
- 8:51Abundance. When we think like that, things
- 8:53come to us. The universe, yeah, gives it to
- 8:55us. I mean, but we have to do work
- 8:57too. Funny story about that, yeah.
- 8:58So I think the. Universe perfect you sorry.
- 9:01Well sometimes but I post, I posted a video where I put it's
- 9:09like the only audience that I have and it wasn't true at all
- 9:12at the time is that I only have alt Mexican women and Asian and
- 9:20and hippie hippie women in my chat.
- 9:22And gay straight men. And straight and straight men.
- 9:26I have that as a question. Yeah, dude.
- 9:28And it's been it's been amazing they.
- 9:31Flocked. They flocked in.
- 9:33It was like a magnet. I I called to them.
- 9:36And they came. See, that's how like
- 9:38affirmations, really. Do we did?
- 9:39Yeah. Like we had Shawna in here.
- 9:41That's what the metaphysical, that's what she called it,
- 9:45right? Yeah, yeah.
- 9:46That's why Shawna taught us all that stuff.
- 9:49Remember, she said all. These things doesn't remember.
- 9:51She doesn't remember. She you don't remember?
- 9:53That conversation. I have not gone to the editing
- 9:57of that yet. OK, well talk to it I.
- 10:01Remember it? I remember when I'm actually
- 10:04there listening to it again. Well, shout out to our producer
- 10:07extraordinaire Dusty, because he really remembers all this stuff.
- 10:11Hell, you listen, I mean. It comes it's stored in there
- 10:15it. Comes in ways you.
- 10:17Have to install like keys. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:20To bring it back to the front. No, that's fair.
- 10:23When it's not in front of you, you don't remember.
- 10:25When you're up my butt throughout the week stacking
- 10:28stuff in front of it, it's gonna get lost in the file.
- 10:32Hypothetically, if I wanted to be up a butt like, how would I?
- 10:36How would I? How would?
- 10:37You do that how? Would I join?
- 10:38Well, the. Way that the way that I in that
- 10:43position for my friends is that I send them hey I'm thinking of
- 10:47this thing at this time and then I send them another message
- 10:50about another thing that I. Was thinking about a different
- 10:57thing. Never.
- 10:58Mind but I have a thought on this because I feel like I
- 11:02always forget that I need to remember that Dusty is a guy at
- 11:05the end of the day and I feel like when I talk to guys I can
- 11:08only send them one thing at a time.
- 11:10Like one question, one message at a time so that they can
- 11:14respond to this. Oh, I've heard this, yeah.
- 11:16And then I can send them another one.
- 11:19But if I send them back-to-back, they will only respond to the
- 11:22last message. Yeah.
- 11:24You know, they won't respond to other like two things that I
- 11:28also said. Is that true?
- 11:30Do you feel that's true? I would say in general maybe.
- 11:33Josh, sorry in turn to say. Maybe in general, like in just
- 11:36like like assholes, you know, but I.
- 11:40Don't think. So I it's not the.
- 11:43First time I've heard that but. If you have ADHD and you have
- 11:46all this other stuff, maybe like I'm, I think I'm dyslexic, you
- 11:50can see the L in the R on my fingers because sometimes I
- 11:52forget when an. L Oh my God I've literally
- 11:55thought about doing. That how many times?
- 11:57Have I not said that to you? Sorry.
- 11:59No, no, go ahead. Last week.
- 12:01That's rich. That's what I'm saying.
- 12:03I literally tell him all the fucking time and he's saying
- 12:06since last week, I've told you this more than once.
- 12:09What the fuck was I talking? About about the left and the
- 12:12right that guys don't remember. Oh yeah, you know, like there
- 12:14might just be other reasons. I think generally a person,
- 12:17let's just be honest, sometimes people just be sending shit to
- 12:20send shit, you know, I. Respond to whichever one that
- 12:25has the. Most urgency word.
- 12:27Yeah, Yeah. How do you how do you know what
- 12:30is priority like like in your head?
- 12:32How do you the? Topic was was for what is coming
- 12:36up up next versus what you sent second, which is down the road
- 12:40in three weeks. OK, that's fair, that's fair,
- 12:43'cause like I and I do do that. Like I'll, I'll send you an idea
- 12:47that will be like weeks or months from now.
- 12:50Not who we're talking about in that moment and trying to talk
- 12:55to them in that moment. And then you're like, so you
- 12:59going to respond to me? Oh, you're needy too?
- 13:03Give. Me like a week.
- 13:05Because it takes for fuck, dude. It's because I'm a person of
- 13:08action. Like, I guess you're done.
- 13:10Like let's keep going. Next thing, next thing.
- 13:12Come on. We're not going to be like
- 13:15we're, we're going to be doing one thing and then we're going
- 13:17to do the next thing to get us there like always.
- 13:20That's the way that my brain works.
- 13:21That's the way that I function. I'm like, action don't fucking
- 13:24take forever. Yeah, so am I, but you can't
- 13:28bring something that's three weeks out and try to make it cut
- 13:30in line. Well, no, it's more of like, So
- 13:33it's I'm planting seeds, that's what I'm doing.
- 13:36So why does it matter if he doesn't answer?
- 13:38Because he's the seeds there. Because it means time to go, you
- 13:41know, I'm saying she needs it. Watered right away.
- 13:43I need it watered. That's a good point.
- 13:47Wow, Wow. OK, now we're now we're saying a
- 13:50lot of accusation. No, yeah, now we're getting,
- 13:54we're getting a far away from the topic.
- 13:56Oh, now when it comes back to you.
- 13:58Yeah. Step away.
- 14:00Now. We're When did you make your
- 14:01migration to Wichita large city? So I actually, I went to the
- 14:07Community College there for like 2-3 years because I don't know
- 14:09what I wanted to do. And then you actually might
- 14:13know. Do you know Sam Nava doesn't
- 14:15matter that, but he I'm like, Hey, what are you doing after
- 14:21after here? And he goes, I don't know, I'm
- 14:22probably going to college, went to WCU and I'm like, oh, can I
- 14:25room with you? And he said yes.
- 14:28And so I just applied that day just came.
- 14:30So it was just luck I guess that I got here.
- 14:34Friends pushing friends, Yeah. Super cool.
- 14:37Yeah, So what'd you study at WC? Well, I started off with
- 14:41mathematics, and then I switched over to marketing, and then I
- 14:45finally ended up with psychology, philosophy and
- 14:47sociology. Yeah.
- 14:49Wait, so you are smart? Smart since you started with.
- 14:51Oh yeah, I'm hella smart. Yeah.
- 14:53Like, yeah, I just. I'm not very good with.
- 14:54No, no, no, I'm, I'm everything I say is 100% serious.
- 14:57Dusty he. Was talking about the homies.
- 15:02I'm just saying. Yeah because I don't know what
- 15:06y'all talking about. Never been kissed by homie ever.
- 15:11Damn, that's not. Even none of my girl homies.
- 15:14I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe.
- 15:20It's easy to believe, but just knowing the guy who's surprised?
- 15:25Gotta find better homies you. Do OK, yeah.
- 15:31Sorry. Sorry.
- 15:33So then you came to Wichita then?
- 15:38Yeah, you started. You like what led you into your
- 15:41bullying Bulk. Yeah.
- 15:43Account. Like what?
- 15:44How the heck did we get there? OK, so it's kind of a it's a
- 15:47little bit of a weird story because it includes like the
- 15:50pandemic and stuff. But this is, this is, this is so
- 15:54I was incredibly depressed, like for years.
- 15:58And then I got therapy, you know, 'cause I'm, I'm masculine
- 16:01like that. And smart.
- 16:03And buff, you got to do the whole thing or else.
- 16:05Oh. Smart.
- 16:06Strong. Handsome, no smart, handsome,
- 16:09strong and buff because the brain is the most important in
- 16:12my legs. Of course, just, you know, OK.
- 16:16And so I went to, I got, I got therapy and everything and I got
- 16:21better. And I'm like, oh, I need to take
- 16:22up a hobby. And it was during, you know, I
- 16:24was feeling like my best during the pandemic, which feels like
- 16:28shit because everyone else was, like, depressed and so, so good.
- 16:32Yeah, I was. Feeling great yeah right.
- 16:33Like that's when I. It was a little.
- 16:35Bit of heaven. For me, that's when it got
- 16:37worse. Really.
- 16:37Yeah. My my depression and my anxiety.
- 16:39Are you super like a like extroverted?
- 16:43I'm pretty in the middle. But what happened was no, no,
- 16:47they told me that it depends how you, how you recharge.
- 16:51And I recharge by being by myself.
- 16:52Oh, OK. Yeah.
- 16:53So it gets more introverted, but I can easily turn it on and turn
- 16:57off what happens? But no, I got I got COVID.
- 17:01And then at that time I had a roommate.
- 17:04And so then I was isolating in my room because I was, you know,
- 17:06I was thinking of her at that time.
- 17:08And my mom was here still. And so I was like, yeah, I
- 17:12shouldn't be around people. And I don't know, that was that
- 17:14was kind of crazy. And that's when I realized that
- 17:16I can never commit a crime because I would not be able to
- 17:20survive in jail. Like to be in a place solitude,
- 17:23like already my anxiety, my depression were already, you
- 17:27know, on the brain. But then that just like, really
- 17:29said it. No, I think that was a lot for a
- 17:31lot of people. And I think that's kind of where
- 17:34a lot of people were like on the edge.
- 17:35And that's when they hit him. Yeah.
- 17:36And that's where hit him. Or it made you kind of be like,
- 17:39oh, I kind of appreciate being with myself a little bit more.
- 17:42I think that's where it led me, right?
- 17:43Like where I was feeling OK with being with myself a little bit
- 17:46more. Again, out of that depression, I
- 17:48started baking and then I'm, you know, like everyone else when
- 17:52TikTok started, I'm like, this fucking sucks.
- 17:54I like TikTok sucks ass, right? And then I got on TikTok and I'm
- 17:58like, oh, actually it's kind of fun, right?
- 17:59Like it's stupid, but it's fun. So I started like.
- 18:03Doing the dances. No.
- 18:06It was a little harsh. Well, I mean, and so I would
- 18:11start recording myself baking because that's where I
- 18:13originally got it. And then I was doing that for
- 18:17maybe like 6 months and I got tired of like not being able to
- 18:21be as creative as I wanted to. And so I'm like, I'll learn how
- 18:24to cook. So then I started recording
- 18:26myself how to cook and I got I, I changed my style a little bit.
- 18:31And then you guys know, as soon as you perfect your craft a
- 18:33little bit more than it's easier to get more views and get more
- 18:35people to follow you. I'm still.
- 18:37Trying to figure it out. Get some tips man.
- 18:40Oh, OK. I mean, I think we're good with
- 18:42the talking stuff and the drinks, Yeah, but it's the
- 18:45Instagram, the social media, it's.
- 18:49Hard. It's hard, yeah.
- 18:51And so I got lucky with with TikTok early on.
- 18:55It was really easy to grow on there.
- 18:56So I got like 30,000 followers really quickly.
- 18:59Million views when a time when 1,000,000 views was a lot.
- 19:02I think that's not. A lot anymore.
- 19:04No, it's not. I started capitalizing on it,
- 19:08which was really like, it was good, but then I got depressed
- 19:11again. I was in a relationship that
- 19:13really, really sucked. Right?
- 19:14Yeah. Toxic.
- 19:15Yeah, toxic as fuck. And so I I kind of was not as
- 19:20consistent as I would like to be, right.
- 19:22And I was only making one video every two months or something
- 19:25and I was going to quit actually into a couple a couple months
- 19:30ago. And Eddie, he's like, man, I
- 19:33think you like it. And I'm like, you know what,
- 19:35Maybe I owe it to myself to actually fucking settle down and
- 19:37really do the work that I have to put in.
- 19:41Send myself a schedule. I'm doing Tuesday, Thursday and
- 19:44Saturday or when I release videos.
- 19:46Started doing TikTok live. So I don't know if you guys ever
- 19:49seen those, right? Started doing twitch.
- 19:52I do I twitch my I video stream everything right And one of the
- 19:56things that I'm really big on is community.
- 19:58So I told myself I'm going to I'm going to comment on every
- 20:01single message. I don't know if you go through
- 20:02my thing and like every single one as much as I can
- 20:06realistically, I don't know how long I could keep it up, but
- 20:10yeah. But it it became where I'm like,
- 20:13oh, I found this passion in cooking that I knew I always
- 20:15had. I just never had like the.
- 20:17Outlet, Yeah, the outlet it do it.
- 20:19And now I'm living by myself, you know, I'm making a little
- 20:21bit of extra money and I know how to and I know how to teach
- 20:24myself, right. I love learning shit.
- 20:26And then on top of that, also learning the video editing,
- 20:31learning how to connect with people, learning how to really,
- 20:34you know, have a hook or some shit.
- 20:37That's where the hell yeah yeah. Well, this is that was by
- 20:40accident. I think that kind of really led
- 20:44me to really want to pursue this a little bit more and it kind of
- 20:46blew up in the past couple months, right?
- 20:48Like now I have 40,000 followers on Instagram.
- 20:51Crazy. I have merch now.
- 20:54That's something crazy, right? I have 5053 thousand on on
- 20:59TikTok right and all my views are pretty consistent.
- 21:02I have a 10,000 views at least at each video, which before I
- 21:07was struggling to get 300 right. And so I think all that
- 21:12combination of stuff and and just really hitting everything
- 21:15that I care about, which is creativity, which is, you know,
- 21:18being able to feed someone because food is really important
- 21:20in life, right? Obviously you can see by by
- 21:23weight, right? Or even just I know it was.
- 21:27How like sweet that sounded. Yeah, like how I heard your
- 21:31passion. That's.
- 21:31What I was saying too. OK.
- 21:34Sure. So you know, all that kind of
- 21:38led to to this thing. And it's, it's been a really
- 21:43humbling experience to have consistent people on my
- 21:48comments. And I think me being able to
- 21:50comment, you know, to all these people all the time and lets me
- 21:55build a little bit of that like parasocial thing, which isn't
- 21:58always good, but it is kind of nice to have even on my TikTok
- 22:02lives now. Like I have people that come and
- 22:04watch me right? And they come specifically for
- 22:07this. And now there's.
- 22:09So this is going to sound a little conceited, but like,
- 22:12girls come into my chat and I don't know why the fuck this is
- 22:15happening, right? Yeah.
- 22:16The girls come into my chat and they start fucking flirting.
- 22:19Like they're just throwing the most heinous shit out there.
- 22:22And I'm just like what? What is the one that has been
- 22:25like? Oh, that one.
- 22:26That one felt really nice. Well, one of them told me to
- 22:29lock them up and one of them just put a picture on my comment
- 22:32of, of like a dummy lifting their legs like, and they're
- 22:37like me. Whenever he says hell yeah, I'm
- 22:39like, Jesus Christ, I say hell yeah a lot.
- 22:41You know. So it's been a little weird to
- 22:44to to get. Really coming to your to your.
- 22:46No, they they are. They really are.
- 22:48Like really playing on that word.
- 22:50Yeah, dude. And it's really, really crazy.
- 22:53But I now I have like a community of girls that come to
- 22:56my life. But now they all like ganged up
- 23:00on me. Oh, OK, so now they have a good.
- 23:02Way or a bad way? I, I mean, they, they talk a lot
- 23:05of shit, but like, in a good way, you know what I mean?
- 23:07Because I'm a little bit into that, Yeah.
- 23:08And you're a. Bit of a shit talker.
- 23:09Oh, you're a real, I don't know, not real, sorry.
- 23:11I. Don't know about my shit talker,
- 23:13I'm just speaking the truth, you know?
- 23:15And a lot of my viewers aren't that smart, so.
- 23:19I gotta make sure they know. Of course, if we haven't
- 23:22established yet, you're a very sarcastic guy.
- 23:26Sure, let's say that. Yeah, I just, I think I, I think
- 23:33some of that is like, I grew up, OK.
- 23:35I grew up like super red pilled. And so you know what I mean?
- 23:39Like as I was coming up, some of that was just like, oh, I
- 23:42fucking women don't like fucking guys who are like ugly and all
- 23:46this stuff, you know, like shit that you see Joe Rogan and all
- 23:48these people talk about, right. But I think deep down I actually
- 23:52knew that I really didn't believe a lot of that stuff.
- 23:54I was just kind of angry. So to therapy.
- 23:59Hell yeah. Therapy.
- 24:00Yeah, Right. Or just being like a decent
- 24:02person and learning from your experiences.
- 24:04That too, right? That too.
- 24:05We can also grow without therapy, guys.
- 24:07Yeah, like it's possible. Go to fucking therapy guys.
- 24:09But literally go to fucking therapy.
- 24:11I I'm always like, I want to tattoo that on me and just like
- 24:14just. Go to therapy.
- 24:15Yeah, that'd be a little crazy. But no, just.
- 24:17Do you? Yeah.
- 24:18Do you? No.
- 24:18I just, I just feel like everybody needs therapy it.
- 24:21Is it, is everybody, it's it should be universal.
- 24:23I think everyone needs it, but I think growing up that way and
- 24:28and then obviously transitioning to where I'm fucking huge on on
- 24:33women's rights. You know, I'm really huge on
- 24:36equality, LGBTQ, super progressive in every one of my
- 24:40stances, right? Except for a steak.
- 24:43But. That it should be, and it should
- 24:46be rare. That it should be only salt and
- 24:49pepper. Oh, OK, yeah.
- 24:51Unless it's Mexican, you guys, we throw a bunch of shit in
- 24:53there and. That's OK.
- 24:55That's OK. Because like.
- 24:56Yeah, I mean, it's OK. I mean, it's going to be true as
- 24:59fuck and it's going to hurt my job, but it's fine, right?
- 25:02But a lot of this stuff but. It's good, sorry.
- 25:07Yeah, no. And and so I think having that
- 25:10kind of like growth where I did have this kind of like shock
- 25:13humor and everything like that. But now where I can, I'm still
- 25:17that. I think I kind of hit this
- 25:18audience where it's like, again, women who understand that kind
- 25:22of humor and understand that I'm coming off as like a like a like
- 25:25a little bit of a douche, Like I'm playing up a misogynist a
- 25:27little bit, you know what I mean?
- 25:29But also I am a safe space with everything.
- 25:31Like every time I get a new set of followers I share, it's much
- 25:35like fucking pro immigrant, pro LGBTQ, like UCLA sized shit.
- 25:42You know as much you see ACLU and ACLU type shit as much as I
- 25:47can on my stories and repost as much as I can just so they can
- 25:50understand. Like you're coming to a place
- 25:53where I'm going to. I really believe if you don't,
- 25:56if you believe your stances, you're going to stand fucking 10
- 25:58toes down on them. Oh, 100.
- 25:59Percent so talking about them and everything like that, I
- 26:02think. And again, it makes me hit this
- 26:04demographic of like, due to straight guys who make gay
- 26:09jokes, right, who love it, but they're also incredibly
- 26:12progressive. And they kind of been shunned a
- 26:14little bit because they like those kind of jokes because they
- 26:16grew up on fucking cob lobbies, you know what I mean?
- 26:18So I think I, I, it's been pretty cool kind of navigating
- 26:22that space, you know? Yeah.
- 26:25I was going to say that like it's it's like the for me, like
- 26:28I have on because I don't really do TikTok very much.
- 26:32I should at least for the podcast, like if you see our
- 26:37podcast on TikTok, I mean still follow it, please follow it,
- 26:40Please follow us. Rule #1 don't shout your own
- 26:44fucking platform. Please, I'm shouting out my own
- 26:47shit. I don't care.
- 26:48But no, I was going to say that like what I'm what I always get
- 26:53on Instagram is like kind of the dark humor jokes about like
- 26:57depression and anxiety and all that stuff.
- 26:58And it's like, like just dumb shit like that.
- 27:01And like, I find them funny. Yes, I go to therapy.
- 27:03Yes, I do all these things. And no, I'm not actually telling
- 27:06you to go run in traffic. But they're funny.
- 27:08They make me feel better because it's like I'm not the only one
- 27:11who thinks these things, No. Yeah, it's like it's it's
- 27:14gallows humor. I think that's what they call
- 27:16it. It's really big in like the, the
- 27:18healthcare kind of stuff, you know what I mean?
- 27:23Yeah, dude, like who fucking wants to be PC all the time?
- 27:26Let's be honest, you're not PC at home all the time.
- 27:29And the people who act like that are, are fucking asses.
- 27:32They're they're fake. They're fake as shit.
- 27:34And I think the most important thing we could do when we're
- 27:37putting ourselves out there, when you guys are putting your
- 27:38podcasts out there, we're not putting on my videos is being as
- 27:41genuine as you can, as authentic to to yourself, because that's
- 27:44what people connect to, right? Nobody wants the fucking, you
- 27:49know, corporate, you know, level anymore.
- 27:52It's tiring, you know, Yeah. Especially whenever it's
- 27:55everywhere. Yeah.
- 27:56And people can see through that, too.
- 27:57Like, Oh yeah, he's just saying that because he wants to be
- 28:00perceived that way. Yeah.
- 28:01But you can tell he doesn't really believe it.
- 28:03Yeah, yeah. It's, it's exhausting to be
- 28:06around that all the time. Yeah.
- 28:08Yeah, I think like that's one of the things or why we also wanted
- 28:11to do the podcast was like just, yes, we want to interview
- 28:16people, but we want to interview them wholly.
- 28:18Like you as a person, you're not just this job title, you're not
- 28:21just this hobby, you're not just this thing like that's one piece
- 28:25of you, but like there's so much more of you.
- 28:27And, and, and that's like one of the, I mean, I think like
- 28:31alcohol kind of helps bring that up sometimes, right?
- 28:34Gives you that little confidence.
- 28:36We do mocktails too, if our guest prefers A mocktail.
- 28:40But I think like that's kind of where that stem from.
- 28:43But also one of the people who we had early on as one of our
- 28:48bartenders for the podcast, she was the one who kind of was
- 28:51like, hey, let's do drinks and make signature drinks for
- 28:53everyone too. Oh, that's cute.
- 28:55And that's how that happened. But IA 100% agree with you.
- 28:59I mean, I think it's you because you're you're you're so much
- 29:04more than just this one thing. Yeah.
- 29:06You're not just, you're not just fully in bulk.
- 29:08You're much more than that. Yeah, I'm handsome, smart,
- 29:10strong enough, of course. Yeah.
- 29:12Thank you. Thank you for saying that.
- 29:15Of course, of course, what was it?
- 29:17So how are you, you know, like you started when you started
- 29:21approach 10,000 followers, what was that like?
- 29:24I think it was just a little bit of like, oh, I'm doing it right.
- 29:2710,000 followers is is kind of like a first big milestone, you
- 29:31know, when it comes to contact creation, It was, it was a
- 29:35little, I didn't feel very deserving of it when it first
- 29:39came up right. Again, I just started doing my
- 29:41videos. I just started talking.
- 29:43It was like about a sad story, like my friend killed herself
- 29:46and that fucking sucked, right? And I was just like missing her.
- 29:49And I put it that out there, right?
- 29:50And I didn't really want to be the guy who's just telling sad
- 29:53stories, right? And so it was a little bit of
- 29:56like, I don't feel worthy of these followers right now.
- 30:01I don't feel really worthy of like, I don't feel confident in
- 30:05my craft enough to feel like I needed those 10,000 followers
- 30:08yet, you know? And that's kind of a weird place
- 30:10to be. And I think a lot of creators go
- 30:12through that because it's just, you know, you work so hard to
- 30:16put something out and you're never going to be satisfied with
- 30:18it. I looked through some of my
- 30:20videos and I fucking hate them. But they're like the best videos
- 30:23that people love. And it's probably just 'cause I
- 30:25hate them, 'cause I'm seeing it critically, you know what I
- 30:28mean? Yeah, yeah.
- 30:29And you were in a place, maybe out of time, where they just
- 30:32wasn't. No, Yeah, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm
- 30:36trying to take this second wave of people as my first level of
- 30:42like deserve growth. You know, I, I've been doing
- 30:46this for five years, you know what I mean?
- 30:48I've been doing it for a very long time.
- 30:50And this is the one time where I put down like my ex, she gave me
- 30:56a month like 3 years ago and I didn't use it once until the
- 31:01last this year. And so I put in that work and I
- 31:06feel like I deserve it now. You know what I mean?
- 31:08I feel like I'm I'm deserving. I put in enough work and enough
- 31:12of myself into my work that that sounds pretentious.
- 31:17That's. Not that sounds like growth.
- 31:19Yeah, well, I still, I'm still a little bit like but.
- 31:23Go back to therapy. Oh, OK.
- 31:25Thank you. But no, like, seriously, I think
- 31:29like we all kind of go through that, right?
- 31:31Like, it's not, it's not pretentious to think of yourself
- 31:35in that way or what? Are you struggling?
- 31:38I just, I disagree a little bit. I think it's it is a little
- 31:41pretentious and it's a little bit narcissistic to think of
- 31:43yourself the way that I'm saying it.
- 31:45Like, you know, I'm that you're. Finally growing.
- 31:47No, that that it, that I'm deserving of something, right.
- 31:50I feel like it's it's really important to stay very, very
- 31:54humble and to be get, you know, be with the community that
- 31:59helped you right? Like, I think that's really,
- 32:01really important. And so me saying that I deserve
- 32:06it feels a little bit disingenuous because.
- 32:09Maybe it's the word choice, yeah.
- 32:10Maybe I. Think it's the word choice.
- 32:11You're right. Because it's.
- 32:13I hear what you're saying. You're you feel like maybe
- 32:15you're saying like you expect it.
- 32:17Yeah, like I'm I finally did all the work so duh, I better get
- 32:21this. But that's not what you're
- 32:22trying to say. That's not what I'm hearing when
- 32:24you say that either. Yeah, I think it's just
- 32:26definitely the word choice. Like you're finally at a point
- 32:28where you're seeing all the work that you you're putting in,
- 32:31like, like seeing how that is becoming fruitful.
- 32:34Yeah. You're seeing that growth from
- 32:36it and you're seeing how people are gravitating towards that.
- 32:40Are you a therapist? Well, no, but I've, I've been in
- 32:43therapy for a lot of years. Actually, when she graduated, I
- 32:47graduated and then actually no, did I?
- 32:51I went back and and I was like, what?
- 32:55Are you doing here? No, no.
- 32:58She was like, yeah, when I said just hit me up when you want to
- 33:00see me, she, she really meant that I sent me up when you want
- 33:04to see me. Nuts.
- 33:05No, you're done. You're not done.
- 33:07And then I was like, oh, OK, never mind.
- 33:09But no, I went back and because, I mean, I was still going to go
- 33:12back. I wasn't actually going to
- 33:13leave. Like I wasn't going to cut dry.
- 33:16But I went back and then I was like, how long has it been?
- 33:20I haven't told you anything. And then she was like, yeah,
- 33:22it's been like 5 weeks. I was like, oh, I, I, I, sorry.
- 33:28I felt like 2 months since I've last seen you.
- 33:30I thought I was doing really great.
- 33:33No, but I am doing well in the sense that like I feel well and
- 33:38I can like I can manage, yeah, I can manage all not just the
- 33:46emotions, but I can manage other things, the feelings, the
- 33:49thoughts that all of that and kind of call it when I am doing
- 33:53self deprecating things, when I am like and just kind of
- 33:57understanding. I think like that's what I meant
- 34:00also with the word that you, the word choice that you just said.
- 34:03When we really understand our feelings and our emotions, then
- 34:05we know like what to call it. And when you're able to be like,
- 34:09OK, I'm not saying this and I I need to have it because I
- 34:13deserve it. No, you're trying to say
- 34:15something else. I don't know.
- 34:17I, I do think like that's been really helpful with therapy, but
- 34:20no, I'm not a therapist. I've just been in it.
- 34:23Make sure. And I'm, I'm not graduated.
- 34:26I went back. I'm trying to get a graduate
- 34:28degree now. OK, I'm going back, though I
- 34:32know it's not done. It growth is never done.
- 34:35Never. I mean, it's just levels.
- 34:37No, Yeah, you. There's always something to
- 34:39improve. Yeah, always, always something
- 34:42so. You know what else is growing me
- 34:46Factory? Ah yeah, so this sounds like a
- 34:48great transition. Time for a drink then.
- 34:51Sure does. OK, but.
- 34:54So we'll be right back. Hey, that was really good
- 34:56transition, Dusty. It did get hot in here.
- 35:02And we thought. You're such a bitch.
- 35:09What? Made me laugh.
- 35:10We're back. Sorry.
- 35:14Okay, what I. Have to deal with Steve.
- 35:16Yeah, during the break, all the guys were kissing.
- 35:17They. Were.
- 35:20I watched from the corner. I don't know if that makes it
- 35:25any better or worse so. All the free ditty prayers
- 35:30worked. Hey, he really got out, huh?
- 35:34Yeah. I didn't pray for him, but yeah,
- 35:35all. The other ones, yeah.
- 35:37He got out though, huh? Or something?
- 35:39No. I.
- 35:40Don't know if he's out but he's not all the serious charges they
- 35:43were like not dropped. For two.
- 35:45They were dropped, weren't they? Or found out guilty for some of
- 35:48them to you. That which was pretty crazy.
- 35:50That's. Crazy.
- 35:51Yeah, yeah. Little guy guilty of the
- 35:53prostitution stuff. Because, you know, he did shit.
- 35:57Yeah, right there. You were there.
- 36:00You were invited. What were you doing?
- 36:04Just chilling. In the corner.
- 36:05Yeah, I was just handing out the.
- 36:07The oil, yeah. I was just, I was trying to make
- 36:10the million, so yeah, close my eyes so I didn't have to
- 36:13incriminate myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:15So you couldn't, I mean that's how you were paying to get the
- 36:17followers for. Account.
- 36:18Yeah, because. People can buy followers.
- 36:20I know. I know that.
- 36:21Yeah. You buy them, of course, all the
- 36:23time. Yeah.
- 36:24I mean, what else am I supposed to do?
- 36:26Actually grow an organic audience?
- 36:28No, he does that. I'd rather do that than rub his
- 36:31nipples. Let's not speak forever.
- 36:37It's just thinking. It's just thinking of that.
- 36:39Tell us what we're sucking on right now.
- 36:41Wow, that was I. Appreciate that.
- 36:49Okay, wow, OK no, yeah, so we made a Sheila pineapple sage
- 36:55Margarita. I was at the store and I found
- 36:59this liqueur that is called Sheila.
- 37:03And I don't know, I just had like all these notes in it.
- 37:05It says that it has like lavender and hibiscus flavor,
- 37:08and then it has cloves of black pepper and cinnamon and
- 37:11caramelized pineapple and ancho chebe.
- 37:15And I was like, hey, this sounds perfect for Steve because he
- 37:18makes food. I know you said you want it
- 37:20clear, but I was just like, no, it has to be something that's
- 37:24gonna be very, like, tasteful. Yeah.
- 37:27And inspire a lot of taste. It's very.
- 37:29Delicious. I really appreciate it.
- 37:31Yeah, keep saying I appreciate it, but I really do appreciate
- 37:33it. I love when people give me shit.
- 37:35You love free shit. Yeah, because you're free.
- 37:37Freeze you. Free and easy.
- 37:40Yeah, well, if you guys want to make it at home, we will, you
- 37:44know, make sure to follow our Instagram and I guess hard
- 37:47TikTok too. That's here's to you cast on
- 37:49both of those and you just, yeah, well, we'll just post it
- 37:54there. I'm not going to say all the
- 37:55shit that we did for it because yeah, we don't do that no more.
- 38:00We're down in person. It's a lot of work to do that on
- 38:03the mic. We used to make them on the mic.
- 38:06Oh, really? Yeah, or at least the last one
- 38:08so that we can actually talk about the drink.
- 38:10Oh, OK, OK, yeah. You want to talk about the
- 38:13drink? No, OK.
- 38:15I mean, if you want me to, I can if you want.
- 38:18OK guys. So this tastes like like
- 38:20damarindo, like a drink, and they put a little bit of like
- 38:23jalapeno in it. I don't know how to explain it
- 38:25better than that, but that's exactly how it tastes.
- 38:27You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 38:30It hits you at the beginning and then at the end it hits you with
- 38:32a little bit more sharpness towards the back of your throat
- 38:35and it's a really satisfying kind of warm taste.
- 38:39That sound is so sexual. Yeah, of course I'm talking to
- 38:41you. It's fine.
- 38:45And warm. Yeah, stop.
- 38:48So gross. Oh my God, can you talk to me?
- 38:53Like that? Yeah, literally, he Dusty
- 39:00admitted while we were on break that he's kissed homies.
- 39:03So Speaking of kissing the homies, we want to talk about
- 39:06fusions of different foods. Yes.
- 39:09And what's your take on them? Do you like that?
- 39:11Do you not like, you know, here's like Dubai chocolate
- 39:14coming out, Swedish candy? Do you do any like fusions of
- 39:18different foods and. Yeah, OK, So I'm OK with fusion
- 39:23food as long as it makes sense. You know what I mean?
- 39:25Like a fur burrito that was really big.
- 39:27That seems stupid as hell. Buzz The you know, the the broth
- 39:31itself, you know that's what you want.
- 39:33You're eating just like bun or whatever it is, right?
- 39:38I think combining cultures is really important when it comes
- 39:41to food. A lot of the stuff that we eat
- 39:43are pretty similar. And as soon as I started
- 39:45exploring individuals. So what I like to do is pick a
- 39:49country and then cook it for like a week or two and just kind
- 39:52of learn the flavors for it and then see how that kind of fits
- 39:56into the Mexican food, which is, I don't want to say my
- 40:00specialty, but it is what I cook the most of.
- 40:03Yeah. I think it's really important to
- 40:06kind of expand your palate that way.
- 40:08And so fusion food is really, really important in that way,
- 40:11so. One of the, I guess one of the
- 40:14fusion foods that people don't really think about is like banh
- 40:16MI, right? It's like a torta.
- 40:18Yeah, it's a torta. And it came from the same place,
- 40:21you know, French people, you know, they they invaded Vietnam.
- 40:27They did. Yeah, fucking French invaded
- 40:29everyone. Yeah, I didn't know that they
- 40:31invaded Vietnam. They're a little bit of
- 40:33assholes, you know what I mean? They are though.
- 40:35But they brought over their baguettes.
- 40:37And so the baguette ended up becoming bun me means just the
- 40:40bread itself. It's not the sandwich.
- 40:42It's actually the bread. Yeah.
- 40:43And so how do you know that bringing that over is kind of
- 40:47like even though it's a forced and terrible thing.
- 40:50Yeah. It did kind of expand the food
- 40:52of something that we kind of enjoy now, right.
- 40:54You know it's. Like us having chocolate.
- 40:55Yeah, like us having chocolate or, you know, like three
- 40:59sisters. This is something I just thought
- 41:01of. Like the Three Sisters blend is
- 41:03like, what's that corn, beans and and squash?
- 41:08It's really big. It's, it's kind of like the
- 41:10native food, right? Like for indigenous people, for
- 41:14Mexicans as well, right. Like the indigenous Mexicans.
- 41:17That's kind of what the, the, the food that this was your
- 41:21thing. You know what I mean?
- 41:22And now it's kind of changed over time into where we still
- 41:25have more traditional foods. If you guys are interested in
- 41:28indigenous food, please check out Chef Tiet.
- 41:31She's amazing. She's superseded.
- 41:33Yeah. I went to the thing that he.
- 41:37Put together. Yeah, yeah, it was really good.
- 41:39Yeah, yeah. She's amazing.
- 41:41She's super sweet and really, really knowledgeable about
- 41:44everything, you know? But yeah, and now that's
- 41:49transformed. The Three Sisters is kind of
- 41:51used now as like cowboy caviar, you know what I mean?
- 41:54Like they add that base dense bean salads, you know what I
- 41:58mean? That's kind of all the same
- 41:59thing. So fusion is really necessary to
- 42:01kind of expand the food and even like bridge cultures really.
- 42:06So how I feel about it? What's your favorite fusion
- 42:09food? I want to say maybe like I love
- 42:14dortas dude. I love Dortas A.
- 42:16Good Dorta. Yeah, a good dorta of any kind,
- 42:19you know what I'm saying? Any kind, You know what I'm
- 42:21saying? So stupid.
- 42:27I, I think I, one of the things that I want to do is kind of
- 42:31explore this thing you're going. To have to tell me all the
- 42:33tortas that you like. I'll send you all the all the
- 42:35pictures. And so I really do like the
- 42:40scene it within like a cultural like traditional food, right.
- 42:45So my favorite thing to think about is like Al pastor.
- 42:49So that comes from the Lebanese. We had a really huge influx of
- 42:52Lebanese and, you know, Mediterranean food come in
- 42:55through through Mexico, you know, And so they're like the
- 43:00gyros and all that stuff, or heroes, as they say, of those
- 43:04foods. They were transformed over time
- 43:07and kind of into a pastor. And that's why you use the same
- 43:11spits and everything. It's really similar.
- 43:15I like seeing it in that kind of sense, you know what I mean?
- 43:17I love that kind of food because then now if you're trying to go
- 43:21down into Mexican food, now you have to learn about
- 43:25Mediterranean food, Now you have to learn about Japanese food,
- 43:28You know, you have to learn about indigenous food.
- 43:33And it's really, it's really awesome to see it like that.
- 43:36So because a lot of your videos will be like, you're sharing a
- 43:39recipe and you're saying more things and, you know, you're
- 43:42saying other dumb shit in between them.
- 43:43But have you had anybody actually come back and be like,
- 43:48my shit didn't turn out this way or like, or any haters on the
- 43:53Internet that are just, what are they called Haters?
- 43:58Yeah, haters like the other word.
- 44:01Trolls, trolls. Trolls, yeah.
- 44:04No, not really. I think it's, I'm really
- 44:06surprised the amount of people, the community again, that I
- 44:09built has been incredibly supportive.
- 44:11I mean, talk shit on me, but it's only a little bit.
- 44:14And I mean like from the shit. Yeah, it's really, I mean, I
- 44:16fucking love it. So you like a good shit talking?
- 44:20Yeah. And so when I do the, I
- 44:26purposely don't share ingredient amounts.
- 44:30I think. Yeah, you don't.
- 44:32Yeah, I used to. And I realized that's not really
- 44:34me, right. And the reason it's not
- 44:38necessarily too much work. I just think it makes you a bad
- 44:40cook sometimes to really rely on a recipe.
- 44:43So whenever I buy, I have like 50 cookbooks.
- 44:46I've never even used one of the recipes really, besides the
- 44:48baking ones. I look through them and kind of
- 44:51get the understanding basic measurements right, and then use
- 44:56that to kind of create. And I think that's really
- 44:59important because it brings like an intuitive sense and it brings
- 45:03more of your own personality into the food.
- 45:05So I'm not big on tomatoes. I try to omit them as much as I
- 45:09can. So.
- 45:10A lot of things don't become that, right?
- 45:13So my food, like my mullet ends up becoming, I mean, there's not
- 45:17a lot of tomatoes to begin with. It ends up being different than
- 45:21the one that my mom made, you know what I mean?
- 45:23Even though I got the same thing and it also kind of links you
- 45:26back to the traditional cooking. You know what I mean?
- 45:28Like your mom is not going to tell you the recipe.
- 45:30She's. Going.
- 45:32To she's. Like on Punita and I'm like,
- 45:34what's a fucking Punita? Like, I don't know what that is,
- 45:37mom. Yeah, and it just kind of brings
- 45:40it more. Oh shit, I just spit it.
- 45:43It brings you more back into like the like the actual feeling
- 45:48of of connection with your food. And as again, as potential as
- 45:53that sounds, sorry. Doesn't sound pretentious.
- 45:55I think you're struggling. Go back to therapy.
- 45:57OK, Thank you. OK, so then on on kind of the
- 46:04same topic of Mexicans, like, you know, we do love we all love
- 46:09a good butter pecan. Pecan or pecan?
- 46:11Yes. Butter pecan, I say.
- 46:14Pecan you. Say pecan.
- 46:15I say both and and so no one gets mad at me.
- 46:18Oh, fair. But, you know, we all love a
- 46:20good butter pecan ice cream. We all love something spicy.
- 46:24We all love like we love Peppino, which you said you hate
- 46:28Peppino. Peppino, Yeah.
- 46:30I fucking hate it. Yeah, so it's so kind of like on
- 46:35the like, what are you learning as you're making all these foods
- 46:39that like, why the fuck do we gravitate to so much to this
- 46:42shit? I really, I wanted to do a
- 46:46study, I actually wanted to get a graduate degree in, in food
- 46:50history and anthropology with food and all that stuff.
- 46:53So one of the things that I would like to kind of see is how
- 46:56much of, I mean, our food is cultural, right, Wherever you're
- 47:01from, and how much of an impact of mental health that really
- 47:06has, right? And so I know when I'm feeling
- 47:09like shit, I'm going to go get some Mexican food, right?
- 47:12Like I'm going to get myself taught that I'm gonna fuck it up
- 47:15on a Deep Throat that, you know, saying.
- 47:18Which? Both of them, you know, I'm
- 47:20saying both of them. And So what was the question?
- 47:25I got lost, I'm sorry. Why you were I was asking you
- 47:30like there are just so many things that like Oh yes, yes,
- 47:33stereotypically we do love these things.
- 47:35I. Think it's just because we grew
- 47:36up with them, right? Like it was what was abundant
- 47:39wherever our ancestors were, you know?
- 47:42And so that kind of leads it back.
- 47:44You're always going to be kind of tied to it.
- 47:45Like even with music, you know, I mean, there's like rhythmic
- 47:48stuff that is kind of tied to it.
- 47:52Again, I'm probably getting into a tangent, but it's kind of it's
- 47:57kind of known that when during pregnancy, certain things kind
- 48:00of affect you and kind of lead on to your to your changes.
- 48:04Like one of the big things is like generational trauma.
- 48:07So during 9/11, a lot of people were pregnant and they saw that
- 48:11the people that were the kids that were pregnant ended up with
- 48:13higher cortisol. So they were more stressed out
- 48:16and higher PTSD straight out the womb, right?
- 48:19So it's not, I don't think it's far fetched to think that a lot
- 48:21of the food that we kind of affected us and became a little
- 48:25bit more what we need for comfort or de stressing and
- 48:31stuff like that. That makes sense.
- 48:33Yeah. I love a good savory chip.
- 48:36I'm always wanting chips and it's just because I could grow
- 48:40up and just like walk down the street or not even the street,
- 48:43but just over to my neighbor who has Athena in her house and buy
- 48:47a fucking bag of chips in Mexico.
- 48:49Mexico. Oh my God.
- 48:50Not in Dodge, no. Talking about in Mexico.
- 48:53Yeah. And so I'm always like, yeah,
- 48:56chips are my weakness. Yeah, but like just chips from
- 49:00Mexico too. Every time it's like, what can I
- 49:01bring you back some chips, please?
- 49:03I would really want some chapos, a little round ones.
- 49:05Those are my favorite. I watched.
- 49:08Her eat a whole bag of them last week.
- 49:10Yeah, something like that. But Speaking of eating and not
- 49:22eating, I guess, or limiting, you also started out on a weight
- 49:25loss journey too, right? Yeah, I was kind of curious
- 49:28because like, you're making food a lot, so like, are you eating
- 49:32it too, I imagine? Yeah, that was a little bit.
- 49:37So I have binge eating disorder, I have disorder eating in
- 49:41general. Some of that was I had to work
- 49:46through that and I think cooking actually really helped through
- 49:48it a lot just because I think I had this relationship with food
- 49:58that wasn't realistic and for me for a lot of the time felt like
- 50:02shame, you know what I mean? And so me going through this
- 50:06like journey of, of weight loss and obviously I go to a
- 50:11dietitian every two weeks, you know what I mean?
- 50:13Because I'm trying to get trying to get better therapy every
- 50:16every three weeks kind of thing. You know, it's been, it's been a
- 50:23little hard to be this guy who found his passion in cooking and
- 50:28was also 420 lbs and also learning to kind of be OK with
- 50:35not finishing my plate, which is a huge thing.
- 50:37And like you know, and bring communities.
- 50:40Yeah, any any immigrant like you better fucking eat that whole.
- 50:43Shit. We're not.
- 50:44We're paying for it, right? Yeah.
- 50:45You can't leave that plate. Exactly.
- 50:47And then even just being OK with that and maybe all this food
- 50:50isn't for me. So that's been, it's been really
- 50:53hard to kind of work through it. I'm getting better.
- 50:55I haven't gained back any weight.
- 50:57I've lost 80 lbs since I think it's second time that I lost 80
- 51:01lbs. First time I did it, not good.
- 51:05I didn't eat anything and I wasn't cooking anything.
- 51:07This time I'm cooking. Anything so, so really
- 51:08depressing. Yeah, yeah, it was really sad.
- 51:10Yeah, it just, it wasn't. It was also maybe more of the
- 51:13shame kind of playing in. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:15And it was just trying to not not be, trying not to be.
- 51:22Again, authenticity is really important, right?
- 51:25So I was not really being myself when I was doing that initial
- 51:28weight loss. And that's why I didn't stick.
- 51:30Yeah, so yeah, sorry. I was.
- 51:38I was hoping Dusty would jump in a bit, but damn Dusty, man, I
- 51:42swear. That's crazy.
- 51:47You'd be doing that shit, man. No, don't.
- 51:55Like fist fighter right now. No, I'm just trying to be like
- 51:59Lauren. Tell me.
- 52:00Yeah, the next bullet point here and you just have Tinga 2 Madre.
- 52:03Yeah. It was.
- 52:09It was just. Like today.
- 52:10I saw that one today that you made about the the chicken
- 52:14thinga and then you were saying like, you know, like the madre
- 52:18and you were saying dumb shit about it.
- 52:20Yeah. So I actually, I'm also on a
- 52:23slow deficit right now. And how many calories?
- 52:27I think it's like 7 four, no 17500, something like that.
- 52:33Five. 100 calories you're in. 17500 a day.
- 52:36OK, what's your deficit like? That's that's the.
- 52:39Deficit. Oh, that's your deficit?
- 52:41No, I mean like how many like calories are you eating less
- 52:44than your maintenance? No, that's what I'm telling you.
- 52:47100, yeah. 17500 like my maintenance, huh?
- 52:511750, that thing. Am I saying that wrong?
- 52:56Yeah, I can't do math. OK.
- 53:00Sorry, I was just 1751750. Yes, that's accurate.
- 53:06That's it's around that, yeah, I forgot what my maintenance is
- 53:10right now. I have somebody who's managing
- 53:12all my cameras, so I'm not even. I'm just kind of like, Yep.
- 53:17Just do it. That's pretty fucking cool.
- 53:19Yeah, shout out to working really hard to finally being
- 53:22able to afford something like that, the privilege of it.
- 53:25Yeah, but so I was, I'm also like, I, I'm eating all the food
- 53:30that I want to eat. Like I'm not eating some salad.
- 53:33I'm not eating like shit that I don't want to eat.
- 53:35Like I had ceviche this week. I also made chicken thingatu.
- 53:39Like I'm like, I want to eat the food that I've enjoyed to eat,
- 53:43but just adjust it to my macros. So I'm still hitting the stuff
- 53:48that I need to hit because I don't want to hate myself.
- 53:52I I will just say that like I think that what comes with the
- 53:54deficit, though, it's hard because it's like, I don't I
- 53:57want to eat like four or five of these things.
- 53:59Yeah. You know, like I don't want to
- 54:01just eat 2. Like I had I could only have two
- 54:04tostalas, a chicken thing. I couldn't.
- 54:06I know you're exactly exactly. Visibly upset, I was started
- 54:11shaking. I know, but like, and I'm just
- 54:16like, OK, well, at least I get to have it.
- 54:18But I've also been on the deficit for almost like a year
- 54:20now. Oh shit, that I'm used to the
- 54:23calories. Yeah, it's not.
- 54:24And it's not a dramatic because I think I forgot what my
- 54:27maintenance is, but we've only like done like 400 off.
- 54:31Like, I think it's not, it's not a crazy thing.
- 54:34And it's like a pound A. Week almost.
- 54:37We're not like that systematic about it because I'm also doing
- 54:43a lot of weight training and trying to gain, well, I've
- 54:46always done. Weight.
- 54:47OK, OK. Yeah, like that's always been
- 54:48part of my life, or not always, but now for the last maybe, I
- 54:52don't know, 7-6 years, that's been part of it.
- 54:55So yeah, I'm not like. Do you like Powerlift or?
- 55:00Just like strength training. Cool.
- 55:01Cool. Yeah, I got into powerlifting as
- 55:05I was losing weight. So I, I tried to get my, you
- 55:09know, 1500 LB club or 1000 LB club.
- 55:12I just met the other week. So I mean, a couple months ago.
- 55:15And so yeah, I'm really, I don't share that too much and I would
- 55:18like to, it's just a little scary to kind of record myself,
- 55:22you know, you know, at the gym or anything like that.
- 55:25I did see that you posted you were at at the gym earlier today
- 55:28so. Oh yeah, yeah, no, I think like
- 55:30it's I agree. I hear you.
- 55:32Like I want to and I'm like Oh my God, I'm finally like.
- 55:35Or now that I'm also sticking to the deficit that I'm feeling
- 55:39like oh, I can really finally see more definition around
- 55:42certain areas. Yeah and it's like, but I want
- 55:45it more so I'm not gonna post this.
- 55:47No yeah, you know what I mean. I.
- 55:48Feel that, Yeah, yeah. I think for me is like, I have a
- 55:53big ass belly and it doesn't even matter how much weight I
- 55:56lost, right? Like I, you could just see my
- 55:57fucking belly either way. And so it's been kind of hard
- 56:01for me to embrace this. And I'm sure you're feeling
- 56:03this. I think with, again, women
- 56:05suffer really heavily with, you know, body image issues where
- 56:10it's like, I, I feel very good. And then I see myself in the
- 56:13mirror. You know what I mean?
- 56:14Like, that's, that's the kind of stuff.
- 56:16Yeah. No, but that's really awesome
- 56:17you're doing here. Yeah.
- 56:19So it's really cool. Thanks.
- 56:20No, it is. I yeah, like just kind of on the
- 56:23whole body shaming and stuff like that, you know, what are,
- 56:27has that something always been a part of your life too?
- 56:30Or like, how do you, like we were talking earlier about
- 56:32friends and how they help you with things.
- 56:35But like, sometimes it feels like men don't have that type of
- 56:37support system as much as women do, or maybe they don't allow
- 56:41themselves to have it or just for whatever reason.
- 56:44Yeah, we were like we were talking about it earlier.
- 56:46I think it really just depends on the demographic.
- 56:49I think it's really big on on, I guess with with friendships, you
- 56:58have to be very vulnerable, right, To have a very good
- 57:01friendship, you know, you have to be willing to do a lot of
- 57:04shit that you really don't want to.
- 57:06And I think for a lot of like the more misogynistic or the
- 57:11more machismo or like the more machismo or whatever it is, the
- 57:14more the more focused on showing a certain type of masculinity.
- 57:19It's harder for you to be able to be vulnerable with someone,
- 57:22which is really weird because you know, some of those places,
- 57:25like you said, you were in the Army, right?
- 57:27Air Force, Air Force, like some of these places where they are a
- 57:30little bit more masculine, you know what I mean?
- 57:33These, these occupations, they're like the gayest straight
- 57:37man I've ever met, you know what I mean?
- 57:39And it just happens, right? And so I think that mentality
- 57:43kind of sucks. And it's, I mean, there is like
- 57:45a lonely dude epidemic and some of it is self-imposed, like some
- 57:48of the dudes that are watching Red Pill shit, Joe Rogan stuff,
- 57:53which I mean feeds into it. But even if it was self, you
- 57:59know, self-inflicted loneliness, it's still it's still an issue,
- 58:03you know what I mean? So.
- 58:04Yeah, fair. I was going to say just kind of
- 58:08even around that. Like, I think a lot of the
- 58:10times, like people don't think of their friendships as
- 58:13relationships. Oh yeah.
- 58:15You know, and, and I, I at least for me, like that was something
- 58:18that I realized that I wanted to work on and spend ample time on
- 58:23it and like, learn to understand my friends love languages, male
- 58:28and female. Like, I know the way that they
- 58:30want to communicate. Or like I was joking about like
- 58:32me sending Dusty all this dumb shit all the time.
- 58:34But I do know how Dusty communicates.
- 58:36So like, yeah, I'm giving him shit about it.
- 58:38But like, I get it. Yeah, yeah, I'm not like pissed
- 58:41off, but yeah, about it or something, you know.
- 58:44And I think like that, that's it, right?
- 58:47Like we don't always, I think we are always looking for just a
- 58:51romantic partner to fill all these holes, but that's not.
- 58:54Really realistic? No, it's not, no.
- 58:56Because you need your friends, you if you're lucky enough to
- 58:59have your family and and also like those family relationships
- 59:02too. And then your relationship now
- 59:05romantically can flourish more and then your relationship with
- 59:08yourself. Like there's just so much much
- 59:10of it that you can't just focus. On one again, going back to the
- 59:15community thing and what's really important for me to kind
- 59:17of build that in the thing, community can help you build
- 59:21anything you want, you know what I mean?
- 59:24And like you said, friendships take work.
- 59:26And one of the biggest things I have an issue with right now
- 59:28with like social media really big is like, I don't want to do
- 59:31that. So I won't help my friend.
- 59:33Oh, like I'm feeling, I'm feeling like tired.
- 59:37So I won't go see my friend and I'll cancel on it.
- 59:40I feel like that's fucking crazy to do.
- 59:43I would never do that. You know, I'm tired.
- 59:45I'm gonna be a little pissy, right?
- 59:47Yeah. But I made this commitment to my
- 59:49friend, you know what I mean? So I gotta do it.
- 59:51And I feel like that's it's a little fucking selfish, you know
- 59:54what I mean? To, to to do that all the time,
- 59:57especially when you're you're, you're trying to build this
- 59:59friendship or you're trying to keep these friendships.
- 1:00:01It's not going to make them feel good.
- 1:00:03Yeah, I mean. I mean, the commitment, whether
- 1:00:05it's at the friendship level, at the relationship or romantic
- 1:00:08relationship level, it's all really important to be like
- 1:00:11leaving someone dry over something else or like I'm
- 1:00:13feeling this certain way or somebody else just came in and
- 1:00:16they invited me to something else that's more important to
- 1:00:19them. Like that's also just as fucked
- 1:00:21up because you're you're not giving that person who you made
- 1:00:24those original plans with the respect that they deserve.
- 1:00:27Exactly. It's.
- 1:00:28About respect and stuff like that.
- 1:00:29And then I'm not saying you can't ever ditch plans or
- 1:00:32whatever. Yeah, but like doing it so
- 1:00:34consistently, what's the point? Like why are you even friends
- 1:00:36with that person? Yeah, yeah, 100% yeah.
- 1:00:41One thing that I did still kind of want to talk about that's not
- 1:00:45even on this was more around like, you know, you you touched
- 1:00:49on the fact that you're like, yes, I do have these types of
- 1:00:51followers more, but I'm always sharing these things instead.
- 1:00:55And so that's something that you're willing and excited to
- 1:00:58talk about too. So yeah, yeah, like I just kind
- 1:01:02of whore is there. Trump is a piece of shit.
- 1:01:08Like, what else to say about that?
- 1:01:10I think the way that we're treating immigrants is
- 1:01:13incredibly inhuman. And the people who are using
- 1:01:16religion as a justification for that is incredibly disingenuous
- 1:01:21and an asshole thing to do. I think that if you really,
- 1:01:25truly, and I'm, I'm really hitting on the religious part
- 1:01:27because I'm, I was, I'm Catholic ish, you know what I mean?
- 1:01:30I grew up in that kind of stuff. I mean, I got a fucking yeah.
- 1:01:34And so it is not godly to hate people.
- 1:01:38It is not godly to exclude people just because the way that
- 1:01:40they look or the status that they come in.
- 1:01:43I truly believe that the people that are coming that are talking
- 1:01:46this way, if God himself came back, tried to cross from
- 1:01:50Mexico, they would deport him. And this is, you know, this is
- 1:01:53this is a real thing. And it sucks because I think
- 1:01:57some of that, again, we talked with the lonely male epidemic
- 1:01:59and stuff like that, Some of that was caused by like us not
- 1:02:04allowing people to make gay jokes, you know what I mean?
- 1:02:06Like not allowing people to. Not that they should be
- 1:02:08offensive all the time, but. Just like being themselves, they
- 1:02:12aren't allowing people to express themselves.
- 1:02:14Full. Yeah.
- 1:02:15And it's like. We're like, suppress everything
- 1:02:17that is, yeah, not masculine. BPC BPC be be.
- 1:02:22What do you call? Just be, you know, and I'm
- 1:02:28talking about this. Whatever images that no.
- 1:02:30Yeah, like we're cancelling people because they didn't like
- 1:02:32certain things, right? And I and not, again, not to get
- 1:02:35on like weird, like Soapbox. I think you have to let people
- 1:02:38and meet them where they're at. You have to meet them where that
- 1:02:41and someone and and I'm singling out this kind of grip a little
- 1:02:44bit just because that's kind of the group that led Trump to it.
- 1:02:48You know, white males, they were told for a long time that
- 1:02:52they're bad for being white males, right?
- 1:02:55And you can't be doing that shit.
- 1:02:56It's going to just push people away.
- 1:02:58That's true. That's.
- 1:02:58True, it just makes them mad too.
- 1:03:00They need an outlet. Yeah.
- 1:03:02And not saying, I mean, how are you going to teach someone to
- 1:03:04grow if you don't give them the opportunity to grow, right.
- 1:03:06And so like, I think there's, there's a certain level where
- 1:03:10it's a little bit of the fault of like the left a little bit
- 1:03:13where it's like, we're not, we're talking about being
- 1:03:16accepting, we're talking about being allowing people to grow,
- 1:03:19but we're canceling them and not letting them improve in any
- 1:03:22fucking chance. And then also the people who are
- 1:03:24disingenuous in their, in their beliefs of, of, you know, God
- 1:03:28and all this stuff and, and saying that there's a, they,
- 1:03:33they care about all people, but they're constantly hating on
- 1:03:35LGBTQS who have no choice in what they, they love, right?
- 1:03:40They're constantly hating on immigrants who, like them, would
- 1:03:44do anything for their children. They're constantly hating on, on
- 1:03:48anything that isn't them, right? And that's such a shitty thing.
- 1:03:54And it's so hurtful that people don't understand that, right?
- 1:03:58And it doesn't allow them and it doesn't allow anyone to grow.
- 1:04:02It keeps everyone back and it and it causes more hurt than it
- 1:04:06should. Yeah, right.
- 1:04:09I'm AUS citizen, my mom is undocumented.
- 1:04:11I'm scared of getting deported. Right.
- 1:04:14Yeah, no. Like what the fuck?
- 1:04:15Yeah. Like what is that?
- 1:04:16Because it really could happen. It could.
- 1:04:17Happen, yeah. Or with whatever that's saying
- 1:04:20right now of overturning, like, birthright citizenship, yeah.
- 1:04:23Birthright citizenship, like go fuck yourself.
- 1:04:25Like, I think, yeah, I think at a certain point it becomes you
- 1:04:28not wanting to be open minded and it becomes you being racist,
- 1:04:33even if you had a different intention at the beginning.
- 1:04:36Yeah, at a certain point you're trying to not learn.
- 1:04:38You don't want to own up to the mistakes.
- 1:04:40Because some people voted for Trump and then they regretted it
- 1:04:43and. Then that's.
- 1:04:44OK, that's OK because we're. Human and we make mistakes,
- 1:04:46yeah, and we can change your mind and a certain as much as we
- 1:04:49can change. Yeah, as much as you want to
- 1:04:50change, there's always growing, right?
- 1:04:52But at a certain point it's just because you're racist and
- 1:04:56because you don't fucking care about people and stop using
- 1:04:59religion or any other kind of stuff to to make it acceptable.
- 1:05:04Right. Yeah.
- 1:05:04That's it. Sorry, you don't have to
- 1:05:06apologize. I think that was really awesome.
- 1:05:09I think that like even in cancel culture, like it's hard because
- 1:05:14I like to believe that people can change.
- 1:05:16I mean, I do think 100%, like my therapist says this all the
- 1:05:19time. What you see is what you get.
- 1:05:20Yeah. So like, what you see and how
- 1:05:22people are showing up is what you get.
- 1:05:24Oh. Yeah, I think that 100%.
- 1:05:25I think, again, like you said, cancel culture, I'm not saying
- 1:05:28we shouldn't fucking put bad people who are bad people,
- 1:05:31right? I'm not saying that at all.
- 1:05:32Yeah, I'm saying that. We do need to give opportunity.
- 1:05:36Opportunity. There's an opportunity that is
- 1:05:38needed. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:39I mean, yeah, yeah, no, yeah. I think like you said, all that
- 1:05:44we wanted to say too. We didn't go through the
- 1:05:46lightning room. Oh, OK.
- 1:05:47I thought you were just playing room.
- 1:05:48OK, that. Was the the more you know?
- 1:05:52Yeah, sound. Oh, that was oh, that's, that's
- 1:05:54a cute sound. OK, so one other thing that we
- 1:05:57like to do with the podcast as we start to wrap up is this
- 1:06:00thing called Lightning Round, where we just ask you a bunch of
- 1:06:03different questions and you're just going to kind of like say
- 1:06:06these things, whatever comes to mind 1st, and Dusty's going to
- 1:06:10do the first one. Oh shit, that's.
- 1:06:14Good, sweet or savory? What's your preferred flavor?
- 1:06:21Your profile. Savory.
- 1:06:23Okay, what's 1 ingredient you secretly hate working with
- 1:06:28Secret because we already know which one.
- 1:06:33Chicken. Chicken.
- 1:06:34OK, that. Yeah, that's surprise.
- 1:06:37Chicken breast or chicken in general?
- 1:06:39Chicken in general. Have you ever touched chicken?
- 1:06:43You do you wash the chicken when you do work it with it.
- 1:06:45No, I don't, but I don't blame anyone who does.
- 1:06:48That's a hugely cultural thing, so that's OK.
- 1:06:51But I also don't want people telling me to want my chicken.
- 1:06:53Yeah, I've heard it's not good to wash it.
- 1:06:56But it spreads bacteria. It spreads it crazy.
- 1:06:59Yeah, but I think it is a cultural.
- 1:07:00Thing yeah, I don't I don't usually wash the chicken before
- 1:07:04I cook with it but I found that out like last week where people
- 1:07:08were like it was some cooking video I think they're like, he
- 1:07:13didn't wash the chicken he didn't wash everybody's like he
- 1:07:15didn't wash the chicken I'm like.
- 1:07:17What the fuck? You're washing the chicken?
- 1:07:18No. Yeah, I have to.
- 1:07:19Cook with it. Yeah, no, same.
- 1:07:23Same. Yeah.
- 1:07:24Midnight snack. My favorite mini snack.
- 1:07:29I honestly really just like a coke.
- 1:07:32A Coke, yeah, like a nice. Oh, you did like.
- 1:07:34Soda. You did say that you're you're
- 1:07:36drinking a lot of Coke right now, Yeah.
- 1:07:37Or like Coke. Always.
- 1:07:43I've been drinking Coke 0. That's my fucking shit too.
- 1:07:47Yeah, I love that shit. My dad's addicted to Pepsi.
- 1:07:49I. Do Pepsi.
- 1:07:50Oh my bad, I'm fucking Mexican man sorry like.
- 1:07:54Caffeine hit, I guess. Cute.
- 1:07:56If you're cooking style or a genre of music, what would it
- 1:07:59be? Oh shit, probably like EDM dude,
- 1:08:02that's fucking chaotic shit. One dish you'll never post again
- 1:08:09and why. Nothing.
- 1:08:14I actually really like everything that I post.
- 1:08:16I think it'd be fine. I think I would make a better
- 1:08:19iteration of stuff. Maybe like my corundas.
- 1:08:21They fuck, I fuck those up, yeah.
- 1:08:24But OK. The weirdest cooking kitchen DM
- 1:08:32you've ever received. Cooking kitchen DM what do you
- 1:08:36like? Like related to.
- 1:08:40Nothing. I don't think I got anything
- 1:08:42weird besides those like, again, those thirsty women that come
- 1:08:47into my chat. But that's part of personally my
- 1:08:50fault 'cause I asked him to come in to Metro.
- 1:08:53You should be asking them to come in.
- 1:08:55I thought you said you're not supposed to self promote
- 1:08:57yourself. That's not self promoting,
- 1:08:59that's just me being myself. OK, there's a difference.
- 1:09:02OK. Can only use three spices for
- 1:09:06the rest of your life. Salt.
- 1:09:11Like can a mix be used like a mix like A5 spice?
- 1:09:15Should we allow it? I'll allow it.
- 1:09:18OK. OK, it's 5 spice.
- 1:09:20It's 5 spice comes in one jar. There you go, salt, 5 spice, and
- 1:09:26then maybe some kind of like, I don't know if this is
- 1:09:30necessarily spice, but some kind of acidity, maybe vinegar, lime,
- 1:09:34something like that. Building blocks.
- 1:09:37I think that you think 5 spice. That's what I was looking at was
- 1:09:41I was making some chicken and I was using A5 spice thing and I
- 1:09:45decided to look up a recipe and then that's when I saw the.
- 1:09:49The whole thing about washing chicken. 5 spice is really is
- 1:09:52really versatile. You could use it in sweet, sweet
- 1:09:55connotations. I want to put it into yeah, and
- 1:09:58I want to put it into a like Strawberry Shortcake almost.
- 1:10:03And then but make 5 spice whipped cream.
- 1:10:06So the hit of cardamom and cinnamon and starnies, it's
- 1:10:11really warming. So it'd be a really nice kind of
- 1:10:13warming thing for this. Like really cool.
- 1:10:16Dessert. Spice whipped.
- 1:10:21Cream. Yeah, that sounds OK.
- 1:10:23And when you make it and make sure to invite, Oh yeah,
- 1:10:25everybody in this room, of course, alternative baddies or
- 1:10:30hippie baddies. Fuck.
- 1:10:34Alternative. Alternative.
- 1:10:37Is it the blue hair? Oh, of course.
- 1:10:39You're in a Latina too. Tattoos.
- 1:10:43God, yeah. First food memory that made you
- 1:10:48say hell yeah? My mom makes spaghetti better
- 1:10:54than. Oh yeah.
- 1:10:55Fuck man, every time I eat it I'm like hell yeah.
- 1:10:58Oh. Yeah, yeah, always say it's for
- 1:11:02sure. OK, we gave you this song or
- 1:11:04this question so you have time to think about it.
- 1:11:07So 3 songs that describe your life anthem.
- 1:11:11Right now, I want to say, have you heard?
- 1:11:17Fuck, I forgot the name of it. The fight that vessels.
- 1:11:22Have you heard that one from him?
- 1:11:25It's by some Juan Sebastian maybe?
- 1:11:28Oh. OK.
- 1:11:29And that's the fight that vessels right now.
- 1:11:33That was really I'm I'm needing some kisses.
- 1:11:37From the homies, yeah. Sure wants to get from.
- 1:11:41The Tortas. From.
- 1:11:43The. From the all baddies.
- 1:11:45From the heavy baddies. And, you know, tattoos that
- 1:11:48happen to be Latina and from I like, I think maybe like etch up
- 1:11:56on me. I like that one too.
- 1:11:58Yeah, I'm a little romantic. And I also really do like.
- 1:12:00Mexican, right? I feel like Mexicans are, How
- 1:12:02romantic. You got it.
- 1:12:03You can't fall. You can't fall in love with
- 1:12:05being without being a little Mexican.
- 1:12:06Love Mexican, Lee. Yeah.
- 1:12:09I feel like some, I feel like other cultures don't get me when
- 1:12:12I say that I'm like, that's cuz you don't get it.
- 1:12:13Like I can't say this word to you.
- 1:12:15Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:12:16And then I do like like a something kind of love.
- 1:12:20I feel like that's really just kind of like a little mellow.
- 1:12:25It tastes like I made an Eclair for it.
- 1:12:28I used to make this like kind of food thing where like you put
- 1:12:31music to food and it tastes like Eclair like a very sweet light
- 1:12:35puffy, you know, puff pastry with inside like a nice like
- 1:12:40soft vanilla cream and. Warm.
- 1:12:44Yeah, and then on the very top, some really dark chocolate.
- 1:12:48Can you take a fucking bite of that when you're laying down or
- 1:12:51on the couch? You know what I mean?
- 1:12:54That shit up. Fuck.
- 1:12:55Sounds like a court memory. We talked.
- 1:12:57Yeah, you should. Come over for it.
- 1:13:02OK, well, we've now heard a little bit about both you and
- 1:13:08your stories, your passions and interests.
- 1:13:11So tell us and our listeners, you said it at the top, but how?
- 1:13:15How we can find you? How can we support you?

- 1:13:30YouTube, on Twitch. You can find me down the street.

- 1:13:40If your name is Fanny, you can hit me up.
- 1:13:44If you, the way that you can support me is just watching my
- 1:13:47stuff, sharing it and just really, really being passionate
- 1:13:56about the stuff that you do. I think that's really, really
- 1:13:58important and I try to share that as much as possible.
- 1:14:01So support me and and being passionate about your own shit.
- 1:14:05Oh, that's so sweet. OK, well here's to you and
- 1:14:10Pariva Babako.
