- 1:39Speaker 2: on the movies, on the shows, just say hi, and
- 1:42Speaker 2: I would like to share another email, also from listener Paula,
- 1:46Speaker 2: who was on an emailing streak this weekend. In regards
- 1:50Speaker 2: to last week's Chicken Sister's Episode three review, she says,
- 1:55Speaker 2: once again, I enjoyed your recap, but I have to
- 1:57Speaker 2: say I have a very different take on what is
- 1:59Speaker 2: going on here.
- 2:00Speaker 1: In short, I think.
- 2:01Speaker 2: You're being too hard on Amanda in May and too
- 2:03Speaker 2: easy on Gus. I also think a lot of changes
- 2:06Speaker 2: are gonna happen to Sabrina. You don't just introduce a
- 2:10Speaker 2: guy named Gruster.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Oh I hope.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So that's my favorite line I read this weekend. You
- 2:16Speaker 2: don't just introduce a guy named Gruster.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That is a really unusual name, and we got it
- 2:22Speaker 1: was very gruster light in this episode. But he did return.
- 2:25Speaker 1: He did return.
- 2:27Speaker 2: He may be the most likable person on this show.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Right back to being hard on Gus. Gus was a
- 2:35Speaker 2: terrible parent, Don't get me wrong.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But Meggie some behind the scenes stuff of what happened
- 2:43Speaker 1: in the book, and so I have a little tender
- 2:46Speaker 1: heart for Gus.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I set a lot of time thinking about this comment.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And I don't think Paula is wrong that Gus Gus
- 2:54Speaker 2: was the mom of children, but Gus is also dealing
- 2:57Speaker 2: with a mental illness, and Gus didn't have anybody. I
- 3:01Speaker 2: think if you're in a place where you need to
- 3:05Speaker 2: make some changes for the protection of your children, it's
- 3:07Speaker 2: not always easy to be the sole person responsible for
- 3:11Speaker 2: knowing how to access the resources you need. I mean,
- 3:14Speaker 2: my personal opinion is that Dus is currently in therapy
- 3:17Speaker 2: and that her foe. You know, Oh she pulled Gin
- 3:21Speaker 2: out of bed.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I need to see you.
- 3:23Speaker 2: That's her therapist. That's one hundred percent what I believe
- 3:25Speaker 2: proved me wrong. That's not in the book, so that's
- 3:27Speaker 2: not a spoiler. But I don't know how, as a
- 3:30Speaker 2: single mom with very limited resources and very limited finances,
- 3:34Speaker 2: and from a place where clearly they're not talking about
- 3:38Speaker 2: the power of mental health all the time, and a
- 3:41Speaker 2: time where we weren't talking about the importance of mental health,
- 3:45Speaker 2: how you pull yourself.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Out of that situation.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I am giving Gus maybe more grace than she deserves.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I think they were all dealt a shithand and we
- 3:54Speaker 2: do find out some more about these ladies in this episode. Hey,
- 4:00Speaker 2: who is Amanda and May's father? They don't believe they've
- 4:06Speaker 2: discussed at all?
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Right? Is it discussed in the book. Uh?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yes, but it's not. The person's very peripherally involved. I'm
- 4:18Speaker 2: not sure if we're going to get a similar tie in.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I don't know how they're going to deal with that,
- 4:22Speaker 2: if at all.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I was just how that thought, like, could they never
- 4:26Speaker 1: talk about who their dad was? Correct?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Thanks for the email, Paula. It's synopsis time, y'all.
- 4:35Speaker 1: If I could just first gripe about oh please for
- 4:39Speaker 1: a second. Yes, Ever since Thursday when these episodes drop,
- 4:45Speaker 1: this is the one show I could not get to
- 4:48Speaker 1: stream on my TV for some reason. On Hallmark Plus
- 4:52Speaker 1: every time, every single time, it would say we're experiencing
- 4:58Speaker 1: technical difficulties, please dismiss. And like I cleared out the cash,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I logged in and logged out. I did all the things.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I could only get it to stream on my phone.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's it. I had the same experience, and I did
- 5:14Speaker 1: all of this. I made sure the Apple was updated.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I restarted my Apple TV.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I did everything on my end that I could think
- 5:21Speaker 2: of to make it work, and other Apple excuse me,
- 5:24Speaker 2: other Hallmark Plus properties were streaming. I did watch all
- 5:28Speaker 2: the other things I needed to watch, so yeah, that
- 5:31Speaker 2: was frustrating. I also watched on my phone, which is
- 5:34Speaker 2: not the watching experience i'd prefer for something that I
- 5:38Speaker 2: need to review.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Get it together, y'all. I don't understand how I can
- 5:44Speaker 1: watch Love on the Danube and that's working perfectly fine,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but Chicken Sisters isn't. I don't get it, Like what
- 5:51Speaker 1: is happening over there? Also, I would like to note
- 5:56Speaker 1: that their press website was since last night, and ok,
- 6:02Speaker 1: Hallmark content creator trying to get the most accurate information
- 6:07Speaker 1: and can't get access to it because it's not updated
- 6:10Speaker 1: anywhere else. It just was real frustrating. It did finally
- 6:14Speaker 1: I was finally able to get access to it this afternoon,
- 6:16Speaker 1: but were this timeline back up now? I do have
- 6:22Speaker 1: a note to though, because remember last week how we
- 6:24Speaker 1: were like, oh, they're not up in the Hallmark press
- 6:28Speaker 1: release for Chicken Sisters, it has the wrong writer. Well,
- 6:32Speaker 1: episode three last week now reflects the writer that, oh
- 6:37Speaker 1: said nice? Are they listening? Are they listening to our
- 6:41Speaker 1: apart a Hallmark? So here is a synopsis. That's where
- 6:45Speaker 1: we're at, right yeah. Synopsis for episode four, The Drop,
- 6:50Speaker 1: the biggest event of the year in Marynac brings the
- 6:54Speaker 1: Memis and the Franny's factions under one roof and face
- 6:58Speaker 1: the Face, But Gus has other plans.
- 7:01Speaker 2: In the world of news and notes. Leyla Cohen is
- 7:04Speaker 2: credited with writing this episode. She is an Emmy nominated
- 7:07Speaker 2: television and feature writer. Her previous projects include The Perfect Couple,
- 7:12Speaker 2: Whoop Whoop, and Bridgerton, both for Netflix, The First Wives Club,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and The Santa Clarita Diet, also on Netflix. Paul Fox
- 7:20Speaker 2: directed this episode. Fox has fifty three previous directing credits,
- 7:24Speaker 2: including Work and Moms, Schitz Creek, and Fraggle Rock Back
- 7:28Speaker 2: to the Rock airing on Apple Plus.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Did you watch that as a child? I did? The
- 7:33Speaker 1: original Fragile Rock? Indeed? Me too? Yeah? Me too? Me too.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We do have two new characters to introduce, both seen in.
- 7:40Speaker 1: The form of a flashback.
- 7:42Speaker 2: We have Liam Boland, who plays young Frank Senior. Liam
- 7:46Speaker 2: has only a handful of acting credits, but his previously
- 7:49Speaker 2: has previously appeared on Homemark. In the twenty twenty three
- 7:52Speaker 2: movies Sweeter than Chocolate, Miles Martholer plays young Frank Junior.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He has three acting credits, including the twenty twenty three
- 7:58Speaker 2: film Round and Round, but perhaps the most exciting is
- 8:02Speaker 2: his upcoming role as Thomas in Three Wiser Men and
- 8:05Speaker 2: a Boy. Let's take a quick break and we'll come
- 8:07Speaker 2: right back with more Chicken sisters. This episode, in my opinion,
- 8:14Speaker 2: we don't do first impressions on these, but to me,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, we're back, y'all. This was the redemption
- 8:19Speaker 2: episode for me.
- 8:20Speaker 1: How do you feel it was better than last weeks
- 8:26Speaker 1: and the week before. I think that might have to
- 8:30Speaker 1: do with because it has a different writer. Perhaps also, yes,
- 8:36Speaker 1: a little a little redemption, a little redemption.
- 8:39Speaker 2: In my notes, I wrote alternate title, the one where
- 8:42Speaker 2: we learn stuff. Yeah, let's talk about that. I mean,
- 8:46Speaker 2: the revelations came fast and furious, because so what just
- 8:50Speaker 2: happening at once? My first note is we learned that
- 8:53Speaker 2: Frank Senior may have sucked.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I have been saying that for weeks. Said did you
- 8:58Speaker 1: be a little justified? I did? I was like, dude,
- 9:02Speaker 1: your wife is clearly dealing with like some depression, get
- 9:07Speaker 1: off the couch and make dinner. Do you know how
- 9:10Speaker 1: like red my face got in that moment. I'm so missed.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I was so he sucked, He sucked, and Nancy just
- 9:19Speaker 1: kind of like learned to take it. I hated all that.
- 9:24Speaker 2: And we also learned that he's a big old cheater
- 9:28Speaker 2: and he had an affair with one Gus.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So I did he technically have an affair or did
- 9:36Speaker 1: he have cold feet before getting well?
- 9:40Speaker 2: He okay, whether maybe it was not a drawn out affair,
- 9:43Speaker 2: but he slept with Gus.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yes, I had a feeling that was the history between
- 9:51Speaker 1: Nancy and Gus because like, other than being a Mimi's
- 9:56Speaker 1: girl and a Franny's girl, Like, really, what is their
- 9:58Speaker 1: beef between the two of them?
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's juicier than it is in the book? Btw?
- 10:04Speaker 1: Oh really, m juicier than the chicken they serve at
- 10:08Speaker 1: Mimi's oo. I can't help it. I can't help it.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Pun Well, that's interesting, I mean, that's really interesting that
- 10:16Speaker 1: you say that. What else? What else did? Okay?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Well, because of this, Nancy at the end of the
- 10:22Speaker 2: last episode, right, she sees Amanda and Sergio and at
- 10:25Speaker 2: the beginning of this episode, she wants to like sweep
- 10:27Speaker 2: it all under the rug, and she's like, let's go
- 10:29Speaker 2: get your hair done. And when she finally has a
- 10:32Speaker 2: discussion with Amanda about it, she's like, sometimes you choose
- 10:36Speaker 2: the wrong path and you have the opportunity to choose
- 10:39Speaker 2: the right one. And I just was so disappointed in
- 10:42Speaker 2: Nancy in this moment, because as much as I feel
- 10:46Speaker 2: for her, she'd poured all of her hopes and dreams
- 10:48Speaker 2: into Amanda. Like, her husband sucks, her son real sweet
- 10:51Speaker 2: as a kid, grows up, he also sucks. She finally
- 10:54Speaker 2: gets this daughter, who's lovely, she knows how to get
- 10:57Speaker 2: with the program. She is everything Nancy ever wanted in
- 11:00Speaker 2: the perfect little Franny's Girl daughter, and now she's been
- 11:05Speaker 2: disappointed by her, which I understand. But at the same time, Nancy,
- 11:10Speaker 2: please grow a pair, stand up to these men. Your
- 11:15Speaker 2: husband sucked, your son sucks. Yes, your daughter in law,
- 11:18Speaker 2: who for the most part has been nothing but lovely
- 11:21Speaker 2: and supportive to you, made a bad choice.
- 11:23Speaker 1: But please see it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: From her perspective, not forgive it, not like us cool
- 11:31Speaker 2: that you had an affair, but saying like you need
- 11:33Speaker 2: to just go home to your husband.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Wh Yeah, I hated that.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I hated that. I hate all that we learn that
- 11:41Speaker 2: Sergio is divorced. That was news to me.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Actually, don't care, Like, I don't even know why it's relevant.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the only reason it's relevant is it
- 11:51Speaker 2: gives the story a place like why or Kenneth and
- 11:54Speaker 2: Patrick all of a sudden taking Sergio out on the
- 11:56Speaker 2: town to meet chicks like, Oh, your divorce is final?
- 11:59Speaker 1: So shiss? Did you need that on purpose? No? I
- 12:04Speaker 1: did not.
- 12:06Speaker 2: No, as we will discuss in an upcoming episode later
- 12:08Speaker 2: this week, I have no talent for intentional puns. He
- 12:14Speaker 2: just as a quick throwaway, clearly still into Amanda. He's
- 12:17Speaker 2: not looking for a hookup. Amanda sends him like the
- 12:20Speaker 2: world's least condensing voice message ending things.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 2: The thing that came out of this scene that is
- 12:26Speaker 2: noteworthy is the dude can sing. Worth noting that Hector
- 12:30Speaker 2: Rivera the actor, he's an accomplished singer as well.
- 12:33Speaker 1: His first role on.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Broadway was as Emilio Estefon in the Broadway musical On
- 12:37Speaker 2: Your Feet about the life of Gloria and Emilio Estefan,
- 12:41Speaker 2: so he has quite a few live singing performances under
- 12:44Speaker 2: his belt, so I actually thought his karaoke performance was
- 12:48Speaker 2: quite fun.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm not really buying the relationship between him and Amanda. Mmm.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Like I said last week, I think to Amanda was
- 13:00Speaker 1: acting with Sergio because she was pissed off at Frank Junior,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and then in this episode she does tell Nancy like, oh,
- 13:09Speaker 1: Sergio makes me feel seen. They have not had that
- 13:12Speaker 1: many interactions.
- 13:14Speaker 2: To feel that way in my opinion, Yeah, I don't
- 13:18Speaker 2: understand why. I can understand why Amanda would like hop
- 13:23Speaker 2: on the counter in that moment with Sergio, because she's like,
- 13:27Speaker 2: he's here, he's in front of me, he's acting like
- 13:29Speaker 2: I matter. I can understand that, not as like the
- 13:33Speaker 2: big great love of her life, but just as like
- 13:35Speaker 2: I gotta get this out of my system moment. What
- 13:37Speaker 2: I don't fully understand is why Sergio likes Amanda because
- 13:40Speaker 2: we've seen I'm not sure they've had an interaction where
- 13:44Speaker 2: she wasn't being kind of shitty to someone.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I don't get it unless it's unless it's
- 13:51Speaker 1: just strictly sex. But are you you know, like.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't feel like that's what it's supposed to
- 13:58Speaker 2: be here.
- 13:59Speaker 1: No, No, they're trying to make us believe that they're
- 14:02Speaker 1: like having they're falling in love with each other, but
- 14:05Speaker 1: I don't buy it.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We do learn more about May and Sabrina's history and
- 14:11Speaker 2: perhaps why Sabrina might be motivated to tell a particular
- 14:14Speaker 2: story on kitchen clash.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Like that, we finally got like a backstory on this,
- 14:19Speaker 1: right mm hmm. I always like Sabrina, so I don't know.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It's kind of interesting. Sabrina doesn't operate to me in
- 14:28Speaker 1: a way of like vengefulness. Do you think she's really
- 14:33Speaker 1: trying to get back at May for stealing the cubicle job.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I don't know if she was trying to get back
- 14:39Speaker 2: at her or if when Amanda presented her with like, hey,
- 14:43Speaker 2: May worked at Donkey, Sabrina was like, well, this is
- 14:45Speaker 2: great because she kind of screwed me a long time ago,
- 14:49Speaker 2: and I'm going to use this opportunity. I don't know
- 14:53Speaker 2: that she came into it like I'm gonna get back
- 14:55Speaker 2: at her, but it certainly wasn't going to shy away
- 14:57Speaker 2: from an opportunity to May look badly.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I think Sabrina is deeper than that. I think Sabrina
- 15:05Speaker 1: wants to produce a great show. But I don't think,
- 15:08Speaker 1: like I don't think. I don't think she's going to
- 15:10Speaker 1: roast May.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Because of that, I liked in the book, Sabrina is
- 15:15Speaker 2: very one dimensional, and I this is giving us a
- 15:18Speaker 2: much fuller picture of her as a person.
- 15:21Speaker 1: As a mom.
- 15:23Speaker 2: The decisions that May made had a big impact on
- 15:26Speaker 2: Sabrina's life and her losing primary custody of her daughter
- 15:30Speaker 2: because she couldn't live near where her daughter was going
- 15:32Speaker 2: to school. And so I like that contrast from the
- 15:35Speaker 2: book that she's a fuller character. In the book, she's
- 15:39Speaker 2: very just this gotcha type programming producer, and she wants
- 15:44Speaker 2: to produce this show that is full of like explosive revelations.
- 15:49Speaker 2: And I think you're right, Sabrina wants to produce a
- 15:51Speaker 2: good show, but she's not that first episode we see
- 15:54Speaker 2: her kind of like sneakily recording moments that people may
- 15:57Speaker 2: or may not realize they're on camera. The whole series
- 16:01Speaker 2: is kind of like that where she's trying to catch
- 16:03Speaker 2: people in the act. In the book, I think they're
- 16:07Speaker 2: trying to make her more than that.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, to your credit, we do see her like
- 16:13Speaker 1: filming on her phone during the party, yeah, but that's
- 16:18Speaker 1: good content, Like no, it is, like and I thought
- 16:21Speaker 1: it was pretty funny, and she's like, oh, should have
- 16:23Speaker 1: brought the cameras. Yeah, I thought that was that was funny.
- 16:28Speaker 1: What else you got?
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm starting to have I have complicated feelings about May
- 16:33Speaker 2: as a character. We learn a lot about their childhood.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Amanda learns kind of the truth about her childhood finances
- 16:41Speaker 2: and I don't know where, Like, Amanda, you're an adult, now,
- 16:43Speaker 2: did it.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Never occur to you? Like whenever they're hide and seek
- 16:47Speaker 1: in the dark was called.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah, m hm because the electricity was out and they
- 16:52Speaker 3: made mac and cheese the water because they couldn't afford milk,
- 16:54Speaker 3: Like at no point you have a teenage daughter, like
- 16:57Speaker 3: you're well past you never looked.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Back and thought like, oh, we didn't have the money.
- 17:01Speaker 2: And whether or not she knew that May was the
- 17:03Speaker 2: one who was taking her Mimi's tips down to the
- 17:06Speaker 2: electric company to turn the electricity bag on, she just
- 17:10Speaker 2: seems shocked by it, like, oh, so in my mind,
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm like May was doing what she could to give
- 17:16Speaker 2: Amanda the childhood that she deserved, even though May couldn't
- 17:21Speaker 2: have that. And we also learned that she's been sending
- 17:25Speaker 2: her mom one thousand dollars a month from a fan
- 17:28Speaker 2: incident LLC fakes element. And then she finally the scene
- 17:34Speaker 2: at the Drop, which one of my favorite scenes, where
- 17:38Speaker 2: she gives the town something else to talk about because
- 17:41Speaker 2: everyone loves a common enemy to get them off of
- 17:45Speaker 2: her case, turn your eye towards me rather than my
- 17:47Speaker 2: mother and sister who maybe haven't earned it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, it was funny what I concluded at the
- 17:55Speaker 1: end of this episode, And we didn't talk about it yet,
- 17:57Speaker 1: but I was wondering, are May and Gus more alike
- 18:03Speaker 1: than they are different? Because we have May who like
- 18:08Speaker 1: pops off at the Drop and was like, stop talking
- 18:11Speaker 1: about my family. Mmm, spills out his tea, right, and
- 18:14Speaker 1: then later we see Gus tell Patrick can his husband
- 18:19Speaker 1: to like basically stop talking about May. So to me,
- 18:24Speaker 1: it kind of feels like these two, even though mother
- 18:28Speaker 1: and daughter were kind of like in the trenches together
- 18:30Speaker 1: growing up together, you know, yeah, May have each other's back,
- 18:35Speaker 1: whereas like maybe Amanda was like little sister who wasn't
- 18:39Speaker 1: fully aware of all the like ugly stuff happening.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's an that's an interesting perspective I think in
- 18:47Speaker 2: the quest to find likable characters. We may get there
- 18:50Speaker 2: with May sooner than we get there with some other people.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I do.
- 18:53Speaker 2: May's definitely growing on me. We learned that Seana is
- 18:57Speaker 2: to Marrinac as Kirk is two stars hollow. She's a
- 19:03Speaker 2: character with a million jobs. I loved her Lula row
- 19:08Speaker 2: like side hustle. Yeah, and that this smell town is
- 19:13Speaker 2: still all in on her leggings.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Could you?
- 19:16Speaker 1: I mean that was hot, Like you and I were
- 19:20Speaker 1: super into that, Like we weren't like selling them, but
- 19:23Speaker 1: we were like trying to get like the newest ones
- 19:25Speaker 1: that were out.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I was watching Facebook Lives to buy those bike leggings man.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Our Facebook Live parties that we would go to. Yes, Yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 1: I thought that was really funny, really funny. Actually, Shauna
- 19:43Speaker 1: really really enjoyed her in this episode quite a bit.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I also have we learned Frank Junior is the kind
- 19:49Speaker 2: of person who get easily find himself in a cult.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Rightly, How this whole thing with mister Chicken was weird
- 19:58Speaker 1: to me? Yeah? To me, Christian, mister Chicken.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Christian is like this toxic masculinity podcasting bro, who's got
- 20:07Speaker 2: this app that I'm sure is some multi level marketing.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Give me your money and I will teach you how
- 20:14Speaker 2: to be a real man.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Situation. Yeah, yeah for sure. I mean we don't know
- 20:20Speaker 1: all the details.
- 20:20Speaker 2: He's like, please come be an alpha tester for my
- 20:22Speaker 2: app and the and he's like, never apologize, only look forward.
- 20:26Speaker 2: And I was like, man, this is just Frank is
- 20:30Speaker 2: ripe for the picking. He's like, I am not the
- 20:33Speaker 2: man that I thought I would be an uugh. If
- 20:36Speaker 2: they've ever set up a character who is the perfect
- 20:39Speaker 2: target for a dude like Christian. Part of me was like,
- 20:42Speaker 2: what is happening here? And then I'm like, oh man,
- 20:44Speaker 2: I don't like it. I do not like it.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it was weird. We have an app it's
- 20:51Speaker 1: called hard gross gross gross.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I'm like, what is gonna happen here? And this is
- 21:02Speaker 1: so funny because obviously you have said before Frank Junior
- 21:05Speaker 1: was dead in the book, So who knows what's gonna
- 21:07Speaker 1: happen here?
- 21:08Speaker 2: Who else?
- 21:08Speaker 1: I have no guesses? Who knows? Let's talk about Frank
- 21:13Speaker 1: Junior getting a snip snip without telling who is dick?
- 21:17Speaker 1: For years, do you think she's been like, let's have
- 21:19Speaker 1: another baby, let's have another baby and He's.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Like, okay, Like, what's some motivation there? Why do you
- 21:29Speaker 2: go get a secret vessctomy? Cause you're too like, you
- 21:33Speaker 2: know your wife wants another child and for whatever reason,
- 21:36Speaker 2: you don't, and you're too chicken to be like, I
- 21:39Speaker 2: don't want any more children, I'm going to get a
- 21:41Speaker 2: mess sectomy.
- 21:43Speaker 1: What props someone to get a secretct to me? I
- 21:46Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know.
- 21:48Speaker 2: So crazy. And also why was Amanda barfing?
- 21:52Speaker 1: She was upset because Studio sent the thumbs up to
- 21:55Speaker 1: her to her voice memo or whatever, so that made
- 21:59Speaker 1: her sick. I mean, she was that upset. I don't know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe they just needed it as a
- 22:07Speaker 1: vehicle for like people.
- 22:08Speaker 2: To maybe she's pregnant, couldn't be, Frank Junior go to
- 22:11Speaker 2: westsect to me exactly exactly to find revelations. May fests
- 22:16Speaker 2: up to Jay maybe a voice message yes, yes she's
- 22:22Speaker 2: not the woman he thinks she is, which I appreciate that.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And Amanda says, I do not know if I can
- 22:28Speaker 2: do this. But where does she go? I assume she's
- 22:31Speaker 2: at Mace. She's not at Sergios, no way.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I think she's at May's as well and which I'm
- 22:38Speaker 1: gonna like a lot better because if these two sisters
- 22:41Speaker 1: can get their shit together and like get on the
- 22:43Speaker 1: same page. Yes, I think it's better viewing experience because
- 22:51Speaker 1: I don't want to watch them fight.
- 22:53Speaker 2: All the time. Yeih, there's so many other people to
- 22:56Speaker 2: be bothered with. Let's get the two of them working
- 22:59Speaker 2: on the same team. Mm hmmm, are you ready to
- 23:02Speaker 2: talk clockworthy moments?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Sure?
- 23:06Speaker 2: My first one is May yelling at the women at
- 23:08Speaker 2: the drop some great lines? Are your lives so dull?
- 23:13Speaker 2: When she's asking them like are you ever going to
- 23:15Speaker 2: get sick of talking about my sister or my mother?
- 23:18Speaker 2: She says I lied to my fiance, And then her
- 23:21Speaker 2: parting shot looking at Nancy, I wonder where I learned
- 23:24Speaker 2: that it was shameful to be a Mimi's girl.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Wolf. Yeah loved it. Yeah, Yeah, that was good. That
- 23:31Speaker 1: whole scene was the best I've seen in this series,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I think. Yeah.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And then how theyvolved into fighting with each other is amazing.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yes, I agree, I agree. There were some great lines.
- 23:45Speaker 1: There was after the party after everybody leaves, right and
- 23:49Speaker 1: Shanna comes back and she's like, She's like, I think
- 23:52Speaker 1: it was May and Sabrina who were there? Mm hmm.
- 23:54Speaker 1: She's like, okay, you do need to go. Was this
- 23:57Speaker 1: Sabrina who was there? I can't remember.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 2: May and Sabrina are still there because they had just
- 24:01Speaker 2: had their like kind of reckoning where May explains to
- 24:04Speaker 2: Sabrina why she stole that job and Sabrina explains why
- 24:07Speaker 2: she needs it, and then they come together over the
- 24:09Speaker 2: photo of her ex husband's new wife.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, got it. So Sean is like, I
- 24:15Speaker 1: need some chocolate wine, and then May's like, haven't you
- 24:17Speaker 1: had enough? She goes girl. Would she say something like
- 24:20Speaker 1: I don't drink and sell business? What kind of business
- 24:22Speaker 1: woman you think I am? Or something like that, and
- 24:23Speaker 1: May's like you're an icon?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yes, the exact line is you'd think I run my
- 24:29Speaker 2: business drunk.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It's called marketing, sweetie, look it up. I loved it.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And then the urine icon whispered is great. Yeah. I
- 24:37Speaker 1: thought that was really good, really really really good. I'm
- 24:41Speaker 1: gonna tell you I actually gasped out loud when they
- 24:44Speaker 1: said Frank Junior head had a vasectomy. Ooh I didn't
- 24:49Speaker 1: see that comment at all, No, you that did.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I I loved the moment where Gus tells Patrick to
- 24:55Speaker 2: not talk about her daughter that way, and then the
- 24:58Speaker 2: follow up scene he apologizes and he's like, it's clear
- 25:02Speaker 2: you love them, but maybe you should let them see
- 25:04Speaker 2: it too.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah. I liked that so it was good.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Really great lines. We're back to episode one. It's been
- 25:13Speaker 2: a minute since we've had some of these one liners
- 25:16Speaker 2: that made me lol. When Shawna says, May, why is
- 25:19Speaker 2: this food on a rock? When May has her marble
- 25:22Speaker 2: charcotery board and then she says all that fabric and
- 25:26Speaker 2: not a single owl or palm frond I read anybody
- 25:29Speaker 2: who's been victimized by the leggings MLM. And finally May
- 25:34Speaker 2: when Amanda walks into the Drop and she looks at
- 25:36Speaker 2: her and she's like, are you planning to pledge eighty pie?
- 25:38Speaker 1: This rush?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Good's so good? It was so good.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I think the writer really did well with this one. Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 1: this episode.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I also loved the music montage when the ladies are
- 25:52Speaker 2: entering the drop as if they're entering a club.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So well done. But some of the filming choices that
- 25:57Speaker 1: one and then the one.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Where they pull back at all the ladies fighting with
- 26:00Speaker 2: each other at the end of the drop really really
- 26:02Speaker 2: well shot.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Okay, now talking about it, I do think this episode
- 26:06Speaker 1: was a lot better, oh good than previous episodes. It was,
- 26:11Speaker 1: it was funny. There were a lot of funny parts
- 26:14Speaker 1: to it among amidst all the fighting. Do you have
- 26:20Speaker 1: a fathered friend of the week.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I'm I'm torn, but I'm gonna go with the lighthearted
- 26:26Speaker 2: choice of Shauna because she made this episode so funny
- 26:31Speaker 2: to watch.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I agree with you. I picked May for the week.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I thought it was a nice turnaround for me. Last week.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I was like, I don't like anybody in this show,
- 26:42Speaker 1: so I'm glad that one of our leads is kind
- 26:45Speaker 1: of making me like her a little bit.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I agree May was I was torn between May and Shauna. Hey,
