- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm enabled in.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: Not a bad gig to have.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here we go.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, everybody.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to Gilmour to say with Terran Haley.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Terran.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Terran.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: We're together.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you're with us on YouTube, you can see we are coming to you live from the past.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Live from the past, live from a Connecticut Inn.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: A little Connecticut Inn.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're at the homestead and a new millford Connecticut shout out to Antonio who hooked us up.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: This place is so cute.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's so cute and we thought what better time to talk about work on Gamma Girls than at an Inn.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, seriously, because today is a labor day of course yesterday was labor day.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're right.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's Tuesday.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually Friday, but when you listen to this, it will have been yesterday.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've been listening to it in the future.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it wasn't yesterday at all, and in which case.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry about that.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Happy.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Happy what every day is wherever you are, girl.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: But we are coming to you from the homestead in a new millford, Connecticut, which
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: It has a very near and dear place in my heart because I grew up just south of New Millford.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: It is one of the towns that Gilmore girls with inspired by the Zibo and the Zibo, if you see the pictures of us on our socials with our pictures and all the Zibo, if you've ever seen any video online where they're like, go to Star's Hollow in real life and can have a great scene.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Nine times out of ten, it's usually the Gazibo and New Millers.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just like the Roof is green, but it has a little great hat.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's a normal Gazibo with a hat on.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yes exactly.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but they have bangstree, which is so so cute.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: So we got to go to the hunt, which is one of my favorite little antique shops on bangstree and river in Braille.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: We got our coffee and her matcha.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: I still have mine.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little watered down, but I'm so drinkin' her.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's really cute.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: Which was it?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was the honeycomb, the salted honeycomb latte.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: very good.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: I picked a really bad time to not drink coffee anymore.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: I know I have to say I really like salted honey coffee.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I make at home.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: I make a salted honey banana latte.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: Really good.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's really good.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: And so when I saw that on the menu, I was like, yeah, I got to have it last time.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the priest recommended it.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's true.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the things where it's like I'm torn between this and this.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: And she was like, get this.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a good affirmation.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: And it really aligns with the fall that I want to have, which we'll talk about in a couple of weeks.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: But for us, it's actually, we're going to talk about it later today.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be at another end, which is really excited about it.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: We're very in this month.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: In with the end crowd, that's all I hear of this week.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: The end end with the end crowd, exactly.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's us this month.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: But as we mentioned yesterday, it was Labor Day.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so we thought it was a really good time to talk about work.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: work.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: I like every time we say I'm like you better work.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Cuff a girl.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Work, take a girl, give it a to it.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, of course.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: I always hear Hamilton.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: Work, the scholars.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Which is so weird because you've never seen him.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: But it's the only song I know.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: Every single word.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Delica, where are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: We are in Connecticut, but we'll be in Ann Arbor, Michigan First Star's Hollow Saturday, which we're really excited about.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, isn't just Saturday.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's Friday and Saturday and Saturday.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: A little weekend in Ann Arbor for our annual, this is the third time we'll be there.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: To the third time, but it feels like we've been doing it for years, but it also feels like we've been once.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what I mean?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so magical that first time that it felt like it could never level up to it.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it did.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: It did.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: It just because that's Lisa and Lane for that rock paper scissors.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're excellent.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're amazing.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's several events you can go to.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: You can do the VIP sip and shop on Friday, which is kind of like girl dinner, job being.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be some pop-ups there.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Very excited for some of the pop-ups in the future.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just hiding my gifts for people honestly.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel like my eyes kept getting bigger at everything Lisa was sharing with us when we talked about our calls last week.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I was just like, it just keeps getting better.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like every time I think it can't get better, it does.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: It really does.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: So Star's Hello Saturday proper.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: We started 9 a.m. with coffee coffee with coffee of course.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: And and us coffee coffee coffee coffee.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: copy.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can decide who is who.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: But the reason that I'm going other than the fact that I love to see all of you there It is my favorite event of the year that we do Lisa brings in these poptarts.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god These homemade vegan poptarts are so good
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I swear last year when we left she knew I liked him so much that she boxed them boxed up Several I ate about eight of them that day and I wish I was I wish I was hyperbolic No, and someone's like oh my gosh 800 no, I'm pretty sure I ate eight of them that day I don't think I had like an actual full regular meal because I just kept reaching in my bag So good getting
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Popters are right back.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you should come for the pop-tarts, but stay for our conversation.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah coffee coffee conversation coffee coffee conversation pop-tarts Yeah Yeah, it's a long live live.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a live podcast episode if you haven't been with us in the past.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: You get to just listen to Haley and I app.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: We pick a topic.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: The last couple years both have been really fun.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for this year I have like an idea that I want to share with you for it that like do you remember Valentine's Day this year when I could not stop I was like crying tears because it was so funny.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of want to go in that vein.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay I'm excited if you guys for their forgotten in today if you weren't you can actually go back and watch it on our patreon It's drinking talking about yeah
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: But it's one of those events where if you ever feel like you wanted to be a third host, if you're talking to us on your run, when you're in the car, and you're like, I wish I was there and I wish they could hear me because I'm making a point that would really help them, or they don't remember what they're talking about, and I remember, you can do that there.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we want you to do.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's, yeah, to talk back to us.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: We get to talk with, which is so much fun because we're usually in such a vacuum here.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but we're usually in such a vacuum here when we're talking just between the two of us, because again, there are people other end of this listening to this and talking back to us.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it's so cool to hear you guys do that in real life.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that's how we'll spend our morning on Saturday.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then of course, we'll go to rock paper scissors, shop around a little bit.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: There will be some little pop-up shops and pop-up events happening throughout the day.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Food.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: and food, it's going to be an awesome festival.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Explosion.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: So excited.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: So many cute places in town to go to as well.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Litterati, Litterati, Charleston, yes.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Rue's Rose.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Rue's Rose.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Rue's Rose.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Rue's Rose.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Rue's Rose.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, French are bringing.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: In the last episode, I talked about that.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I had lost them.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: In the previous episode, the bureaucratic, I found them.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I set them up to bring them here and I didn't pack them.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: So hilarious.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for your episode.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: I bet the next episode I will have it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then the episode after that will be recorded today.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I won't.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's just going to be so silly.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's, that's a lot of ring mishaps this month, but it's okay.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, in the evening, we'll be doing trivia to round out the weekend.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Almost trivia.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: In Ann Arbor.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: And we had so much fun last year.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: But this year, if you were with us last year and you know, we kind of had like some
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: technical difficulties and the bar that we were at they had like a whole event happening right outside and it was so loud This year that's not happening.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's now you have like the whole space.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: They made sure of it We are so excited.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be great.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: So much fun Study up if you want your team to win or if you want to just come have fun and And realize that like hey, maybe I don't know the answers to these and you just want to sit with a bunch of Gilmour Girls fans and talk about Gilmour Girls
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's for you.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's true.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: And the theme is Logan's London going away party.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, the trivia theme is the farewell party that Rory throws Logan.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: I've already sort of put the bash at a lifetime as Rory says.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: Very excited.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a lot of fun.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: So we hope to see you there.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Also, if you want to get tickets to all three of these events, you can buy like a little bundle and save a little money.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: So you can check out the link to tickets in our show notes.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put it there.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: And we hope to see you there.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we would love to see you guys there.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: But let's get back to work.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to talk about the homestead in just to start because we just got a little tour.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's my first time here, even though I've passed it a hundred times.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm set in.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: There she is.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: But we're currently recording from the Monroe Room and that is for Marilyn Monroe.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you saw.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I don't remember him saying this is the Marilyn Room is the Monroe Room.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Monroe Room.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because there is a town called Monroe here in Connecticut.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought that it had to do with the origin of Monroe Connecticut.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's a Marilyn Monroe room because she stayed here.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I was probably changed the mattress.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think so?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: She died quite some time ago.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: If they haven't, I've got some questions.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: No, they have.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's very cute.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's very cute, but they have a Kennedy room downstairs, which I found very interesting.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting, especially because they said Rose Kennedy stayed there because J.F.K.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: went to Middle School, down the street, and I was like obsessed.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a bust of him and there.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: They had pictures of him and Jackie, which was like so cute.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was not really cute.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: But well, but I learned something about my about Connecticut because there are a lot of kids from my school, like middle school and stuff that went to the Canterbury School when they were going to private school.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember when I was watching Hillmore Girls Growing Up, my mom kind of equating children, like she's like, oh, that's like the kids that go to
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so when Antonio was telling us kind of the history and everything and he was telling us about JFK, I was like He went to the canterbury school.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Every time you say Antonio, my mind says Antonio Olios No, that's Antonio.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a fun picture.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but they have a stars hollow room and it's so cute He knows someone at the props department at the WB you guys
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: He like I'm serious.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually true.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually I'm not I'm it's it's night and it's not hyperbolic Yeah, it's not like we're just like talking about how I'm granted is the phone from the pilot episode in Luke's like in the first episode of the series we'll flash some video of a character in our Instagram Yeah, for sure because it is he did such a phenomenal job like the little Easter eggs There's a there's a rabbi the monkey land he doesn't dance and he doesn't dance, but he he's stationary, but he's there
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: The monkey lamp is the original monkey lamp.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's in the room.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's called the star's hollow room.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: You guys It's so default.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's also a signed Like pilot script the fact that they have that in that room.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like oh, do you guys men?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: You guys just like check the room They have to I'm not going but it's in a box.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's in a box.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but it was a box.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: We almost recorded from there But the lighting was better in here and we would have been like
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: We live from the high back plate coming to you live from the sun So I didn't want to do that.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: So we're in the minro room.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit quieter in here, and but he showed it to us and we were both just like so excited He made like a Children diploma
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: it was so cool and like there's dragonfly paraphernalia it's he also made a confirmation letter that Laura live would send out to her guests for the dragonfly which I imagine like they have here and I imagine he based it off of maybe like what sort of confirmation they sent sure but in style in like on the dragonfly station right first one I saw it across the room I was like
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, is that the letter that Lora Lora Lora wrote to Lora again?
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I think they had like a copy of totally, but no, it was that was like this makes sense But they have these cute little like stars whole blankets and it's just so it's so it's so cute when he said I have the source Hall of Roman I was like, because they have plaques over the door That's a star's Hall of Roman you guys this place is so cute.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: So take a trip to Numa for her to come stay at the homestead and it's so cute They're so kind also one of the other women who works here.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Her name is Tara.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, Tara, I was like, oh, yay, more Tara was.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we need in the world.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Is it?
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'll leave a purple.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll say, well, okay, we'll see.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, speaking of jobs and maybe losing our jobs, which one?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Labor Day.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna lose your job.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's you.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, foundation about working relationships.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we've never really talked about the town establishments and we've talked about the townies.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked, we did an independent stay episode.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was called Lourilize Independence Day in 2023 and I listened to it last night because I
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: make sure that we're not being redundant in what we're talking about today.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: Repetitive and redundant.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: But for you, it was your first episode back since you had gotten COVID-19.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, did I sound terrible?
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, you did sound a little like stuffed up, but I was like, welcome back.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: because I do solo episode.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you did.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: You were, you were like, I was down.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: You were down and out.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: It was a bummer at the hard time.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: But one of the reasons that we did that independence in episode.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: It was really focused on the independence in because we had just, we were wrapping up season three on Gilmore, revisited and saying goodbye.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: to the independent sentence.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: So we didn't really get a chance to talk about the Dragonfly too much and I was like, oh, maybe we could talk about the Dragonfly, but what we wanted to talk about today was like there are a lot of characters in the show that have a very different kind of relationship with work as you move through each establishment and each character with what they do, with their ambition, with like maybe what they set out to do and they pivoted or some people who knew exactly who they wanted to be when they grew up.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I love the way that Amy uses their employer or what they do for work to kind of establish isn'ts of who they are in a sense of self, depending on the character, which is sometimes very different than the relationship that they have with other people that actually move through you see how people work together versus like how their friends together, versus like who they are outside of work versus
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: who they are when they're there, 100% and I think that that's what's so fun about having a town like Starr's Hollow where you can just kind of see everyone in their place of work and then see them outside of it.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: But there are people who really like their entire identity is wrapped up in their work.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, some people named their establishment after themselves.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: They sure did.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I wanted to start with Laura like she's a really good starting point considering she's the main character, but a really good point to kind of like spider web out of, but also because I mean, we're in an end.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: So we had to start with the end.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so speaking to Laura lie, I find interesting because we just had a conversation a couple of
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: weeks ago or maybe at this point when it airs last month, two months ago about money and about the relationship that we went for.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't know.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking to that, we talked about how money meant freedom.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: But also, she came from a place where she didn't really have to work.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, she almost, I imagine that like a 16 year old like her who lives the life that she does, even if she's like resentful of the way her parents treat her or how they exist in society, I imagine she didn't have like a strong work ethic.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, she wasn't doing a lot of work.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: She had, she had schoolwork, but it didn't seem like that super important to her.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: She was just naturally smart.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't seem like she passed that down to worry, but it didn't seem like work was necessarily anything on her mind.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like there's a part of me that feels like she watched everything get handed to her growing up and didn't want that life.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a part of me that felt like she always wanted to work.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that Emily and Richard wanted her to get a job or do you think they were like, no.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think that based on their ambitions for her in terms of like going to Yale or least her taking the diploma off as well and saying, I'm going to go to Yale, like with Richard, I don't think that it was necessarily something on any of their minds.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like obviously there was no necessity.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like the idea that Rory introduced to her like the necessity of work that like she didn't want to live the life that was like it was more so controlling than like seeing that she needed to work for things because I think that some of that came in retrospect of like after the fact but I kind of like the idea that she didn't think about that until Rory came along and then she realized she didn't want this life for them so the only thing that she could do now is work.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: and so it was completely out of necessity to develop a work ethic like that inspired by her daughter and wanting to have a different life for her.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I also do think that came from wanting to work.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was like she wanted that life and therefore she knew she wanted to work for it to like move up to have a great life for them, but it was born out of necessity, originally.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's so fair.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously different as we move through the characters that we're going to talk about today.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, everybody's ambition is very different.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Laura Lies ambition came from wanting to have a different life than the one her parents set up for her.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: But what I love about her going from being a maid to then being a manager within the same establishment and taking that to then become an owner.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's like,
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: she found her passion through the end.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was like discovery turned into ambition, turned into passion because I don't know where along the way she decided because we get that idea in the pilot someday when we open our own end.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was already established for us by the time we met her and Suki that it's just like I don't know where that turned for her where she was like,
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna run my own in, like where does that come from?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: Does it come from hospitality?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Does it come from this desire to provide comfort and safety in a place to stay for people?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that we ever get the answer to the why behind it.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think that there is sometimes a limitation to what she's able to dream about, especially as a mom, especially as having to provide for
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: her daughter that I think that to dream outside of that would feel unrealistic.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: And so to have ambition in your own path is a lot easier.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I wonder if at some point she would have realized like, I don't want to be a maid.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to work here.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like if that would have been really strong, if it would have taken her someplace else.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: But because she found a home in Mia, she found a home at the end of minutes in.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, I like this feeling of being here.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah,
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Friends, you know, have lessons that make me she would have become a baker because she's like she liked the feeling that it gave her of being there totally.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, her feel like home and so maybe she was just kind of seeking more of that and so she became the manager and she's like now I want to create one of my own
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: whenever people talk about like the ending, it would be so cheesy.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like to have a young girl come into the end, like looking for a job, like in the same way that she did.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: I actually loved it.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's beautiful.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's cheesy, but it's perfect.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that it's cheesy, so it's like, I think that you forget.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: some times, lower-rise roots.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: And like that episode with Mia, which is one of my favorite episodes, the ins and outs of ins.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: Drink every time it's in.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but which one?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: One end?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Two ends?
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: All of the ends.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think I forget sometimes that like that is really her origin story, you know, because it was one episode and me actually speaks to a lot of the origin of work ethic Not just with Thorlye, but Luke who we'll talk about later because she walks into the end and says I'm looking for a job any job, and she had that who cares looking her eye Yeah, and it's true because like at the time, Thorlye was desperate for whatever it was.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: She was like, I just need to make money She feels like fake it so you can like I'm looking for a job and I want a job like that's so Emily go mar of her
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly no I'd like a job one please just one please yeah one job one and a half for my half yeah Exactly, but I kind of sometimes forget and so I think that would have been a really interesting reminder Yes, it would have been not true to the heart of the show that Amy built because she wanted to be I think that's a honor show
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think if anyone else was writing it, it would have ended something like that, because that's not really the direction that she takes it necessarily.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that that was an ending that she was headed towards, but I think ultimately, where Laura like it's to, and she has a very strong work ethic.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: When she's at work, she can sometimes flip between being the fun boss, but like when things need to get down, things need to get ordered, she's fine picking up the phone and making things happen.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like shanny, I'm serious man.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think that there's a level of that, like with Michelle, she gets fed up with him.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: But like she just, she'll take whatever attitude he has.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, great.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: You're still gonna do that.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: With that, she does end up like discovering the ambition to open it in a long side.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Sookie.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Sookie is a very interesting like I kind of find Sookie to be like very straightforward and all the same a little mysterious in her endeavors because like you find out she went to the CIA No, she knows people at the CIA.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: She didn't go there.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I thought she went to the CIA.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she knows people at the CIA Oh, we're not talking about the culinary institute.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: I know people there, but she I think cooked in France.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean like we don't get a full background
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: We don't, but when we meet Joe from the Dear Hill Bodge, Joe from the Dear Hill Bodge, of course, it's like clearly she popped around after going to culinary school and she's such she has such a talent for what she does that you wonder like, was it always your dream to work at an end and subsequently open it in, but you don't want to actually open the end.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: You just want to have your own kitchen.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: You want to have your own kitchen.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's what's so interesting about.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: Suki the friend, Suki the ambitious business woman, and Suki the chef.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Because Suki really just wants to be the chef.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be one of the bees of a bee.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be the breakfast.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be one of the bees.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: But he's in the bed.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: bodies in the bed.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Terran, I are opening a hotel called bodies in bed.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that's one of those things.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: Body in the bed is something we're going to have to explain to our paid your own numbers.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a long story, but it sounds like what it is.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's just people sleep over.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: You guys, it's just a summer party.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a summer party, but it sounds nefarious.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: But she wanted to be the breakfast, but of course she wanted to be the lunch in the dinner.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: She just wants to be that part of it.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: but and she gets very passionate and worked up over it that she's so particular and i think that that's what i find so fascinating about her is that she kind of feels most comfortable when there's like rules assigned like you're the manager you handle everything i handle the kitchen
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: which is a little unfair when you're going into a business venture.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I was like, you're going to do all the business, I'm just doing the talking.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like that's kind of insane.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's, I mean, to be fair, like I'm coming up with the creative ideas, but you do everything else.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a level to that that, like, as a friend having a business partner, I think I'd be like, well, why don't we bring in someone who's doing the business side of things if you're not going to contribute at all?
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: it makes me like wonder like what was their initial conversation of like when we open our own in which seems like we do that all the time like when we do this thing we have no ideas about it we have no expectations but like when they actually did sukey never communicated like I'm just in the kitchen yeah
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: but when she's in the kitchen she's so focused.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone has to be doing their job.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: She knows everyone needs to be doing.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: She knows like the schedule of hot things need to happen.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: She can like look at a saw and be like that's wrong.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: And like she has this like incredible like a switch of like suddenly she's type A.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: Don't stand in my space.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to be standing there.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: That knife should be there.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: But she's so funny because that's not how they paint her in the pilot.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_00]: They paint her in this, like, absenteeotic and she.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a chance to it.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that she's that kind of person who, like, it's chaotic because she sees, like, through the madness, like, the madness.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: There's a method to the madness.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And if you try to insert yourself into the madness, the madness is chaos, all of a sudden, this shit doesn't understand it.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so she knows everything she's doing.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: And she's very controlling, like, in pulp friction.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not pulp friction.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's what I'm going to go.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going to go more.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: when it's so good she doesn't know it's one of our favorite episodes it's so good and she's so controlling about it and she wants everything to be perfect and precise and she drives to that person's house about the risotto because they got paired with the wrong wine and she wants them to taste it again she's so particular and she wants everything to be perfect but on the flip side of it she's like well what do you mean I was supposed to show up at that thing that I was so that I was
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's a new mom, she's tired, but like, yeah, but she was like, I have to approve the sync.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I have to stay with it.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but there's like this element to it that, like, she relies on the more lie a lot.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: I've relied on that while the same time being incredibly focused in a way that no one else could see totally focus.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no one has suki glasses and that's what I mean is that like in on the one hand You know exactly who she is and on the other hand.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what are you doing?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and when she leaves in a year in the life I know that that story was built because of Melissa McCarthy's availability.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because she's a star.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but when she leaves It's just kind of like oh and then you laugh and then you laugh which brings me to Michelle Because never laughed me shell, but he tries to
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: But before that, like Mishal takes great pride in what he does in the same way the Suki does in the same way that Laura Light does and a way that I could argue almost every character on the show does.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: They take great pride in what they do.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: But we were talking about this earlier when we were prepping.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's like he seemingly annoying to do it.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's so annoying to do it.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: But what's so interesting about that is like it's the clientele like the guests to stay there like thinking about season one or like people are particularly stupid today.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to talk to any more of them or like where are the best in teaks?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Probably at your house Like there's just this like attitude that it's like seems like he doesn't want to be working at an in and Connecticut He wants to be working at like a five star hotel where he's dealing with like
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: The Emily Gilmore is up the world.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Celebrities.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's an echelon of people that he sees himself to be worthy of.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not any of these people.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's still going to do his job really well.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Some days.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: Some days as he's doing much tougher.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think that part of his job is being kind to guests, but he's not in a great at it.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like he's going to do it anyway and he's going to get it done because he takes pride in his work.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: He takes pride in the way he looks.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's a very, very proud man.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: That man.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: But at the end of the day, this is not necessarily
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Is this where he wants to be working?
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Is this his dream job?
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: I can't tell.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough because like you see Michele in actually three different capacities.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: You see him at the end of Peninsin and then you see him at that in-between job in season four.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, where he's miserable.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's miserable, but he is working in something that feels more high profile.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: the dragonfly where he seemingly has a little bit more control than he did at the independence in or a little more independent authority a little more independence of the dragonfly hilarious he now it seems like he he's not a business partner but they take a lot more he seems to be a lot more involved in the business because he's he was the concierge and I believe he becomes the manager because Laura lives the older will don't they have
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: the argument when Laura Lye is going away, how are you going to write me shell and you run the front desk?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you run the front desk.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: Is that in season 7 though?
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: When is that?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so is that canon?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: I actually can't remember now that you said it because it's buia.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, that's what that's what she says is it it might be season seven.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that what is established is that he is the manager like in the way that me it was the owner and Laura live was the manager Or like is the owner always there in charge he's suki is part owner
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: Michelle is the manager so like that's the first struggle because I cuz isn't that what she says like Boo yeah, I think so and it's like they reverse it and I can't remember I do think it was season 7 now that you're saying it maybe when she goes to Paris Mm-hmm and when they go for French twist.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I forget exactly But me shall think season charge and it's like but Suki's part owner, so and they like go back and forth on that.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yes They don't me shall in Suki way, but
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: This is what it would be perfect if y'all were sitting right in front of him.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: I know, one of you would be like, what is this?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: So like, whichever one of you wants to say that now, please comment on this YouTube video and let us know.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that that's the thing with Michele.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: Is that he takes a lot of pride in what he does.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he does argue a lot with his bosses.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: If we can call Suki and Laura like his bosses, or definitely his boss, and he feels very comfortable.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: to have a very argumentative attitude towards her because that's just a little bit of who he is, but I think at the end of the day, he really does want to work there, which we see in season four because he's like, oh, yes.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: The side himself that they have an ask him to be a part of this and then once he is, he is like, he's like, he's a whole suky crying.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: He won't admit to it.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not crying.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that like when he starts showing up, he still has his other job and he can't necessarily help them in the same way until they can hire him and pay him because that was one of the reasons why he couldn't be involved in any of the pick-up.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: The drop-offs or deliveries or whatever it was.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think he likes working there at the end of the day.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think that Laura Lye would be lost without her work.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that she would be okay because she is worried.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: We're a suki.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think needs to be in the kitchen and needs to be creative.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: She does.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: She has to have that.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: But if she had another job, she would still be cooking.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think Michelle actually needs his job.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: He needs those people and he's never going to admit to the fact that one of his best friends is suki.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you need to be there.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think Michelle and Suki, their relationship might be like for a separate episode.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because like their relationship is very interesting and nuanced and complicated.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: And like, if you were to take a lower light out of it, I don't know what it would be.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: If there were to the front of me's episode,
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, because they're friend of me.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: They totally are friend of me, is wait, we've never done one.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: We totally should.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: They say, worry and parrot.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, ultimately, it's almost like enemies that become friends or like friends that enter enemy territory a lot.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: Mm, I would say.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, worry and just for friend of me is at one point too.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, worry was friend of me, so with everyone at one point.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: I guess so, not land.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's not for the cheerlead, I'm just saying.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anyway, I digress.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to take it to a year in life, because I was the reason why I brought this up
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I brought Michelle up because we were going to talk about him.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: That was the reason I brought him up.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: But Michelle, by the time we get to a year in the life, is like, I need change and I need this to be expanded or I have to go.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I find it interesting because, of course, he does say, well, me and my husband, we want to have a baby.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: But he, I think also in general, is always striving for more.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas Laura Ly, I think, was very content.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: to stay with the dragonfly.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was her baby.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: So she's like, yeah, I mean, this is what we built.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: And this was the end goal.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: And we achieved it.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: And we're here.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't until Michelle was like, we need to do more.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: We need to expand that she was like pushed out of the nest a little bit.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: And does it to keep Michelle?
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which we never like actually learn if he stayed.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: We assume we have to assume, but I do think that the most unrealistic part of the story always has to come from the, or always has to come with the understanding of what they can get contractually from the actors, like, of the sushi wouldn't have left the dragonfly.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think she's the type to like leave town, like, well, especially with Jack.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson there.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: She's a whole family.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: She's a whole family there.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like she is such a townie.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like she is dedicated to that town.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: She's dedicated to the in and to Borlai.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: So like I think that they've been able to get her for the duration of it.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: I do think she would have still been there.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: But with Michelle, I,
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of feel like maybe it's the husband thing.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: We need the family thing that he's wanting to like move on.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that Michelle should have kids.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: He just, he just, he's got another child, you know.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: I do agree.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: I do like, though, that he's like, I do want more.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: And he's nervous to say it.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it is having a partner who you like going home and being like, I want more than this.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: And be like, well, tell your friend,
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I do love that she looks at him, recognizes that professionally, he needs more.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so professionally, she's going to figure out the fuck out because she doesn't want to work with Adam.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I like that about them.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: I like their working relationship a lot.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: They do have moments.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: Pope friction is one of them.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then I'm just like, when the RV comes, if you guys remember when he,
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: was on the prices really.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the end of the day, I think that their working relationship makes more sense to me than Boraline Suki.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean because Boraline and Suki truly are like they have to the end and the end.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: They are the end and the end and like they walk this fine line.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're always, right?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually kind of like our relationship.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're always friends.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're always business partners too.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like they met at work.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: They decided to build a business together at work.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I just mean they met at work, they invented the work, we did, we created the work, then we met at work, we met at work.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: But they met at the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end, or that's our assumption.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: They decided to build a business together and their friendship also blossomed alongside of that.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah like it's it's different because Michelle they also met at work.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: He like supposedly where does he live?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah exactly.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still a little confused.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not quite a townie, but anyway, it's just a different kind of relationship.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that as the years progress they made them especially because Melissa couldn't be a part of a year in the life in the way they
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: I assume initially wanted her to.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: They made Michelle and Laura line much closer.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, their friendship was very, very close by the time we got to.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it would make sense that because Suki left, they gravitated towards each other totally.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that maybe Laura line Michelle ended up being better, like how to better working relationship because the Laura line wasn't having to be the referee.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: And like she wasn't ever really, but they put her in the middle a lot total.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: They were like tell tell her that I'm Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, she was kind of mom with them sometimes or like when she He wanted her to make the egg white omelet and she could pick a great egg white omelet and it was like the principal of the thing Yeah, she was like, you know, yeah, so I feel like maybe her stepping out a lot allowed them to blossom Yeah, I like I like because I did always sometimes feel like two against one.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like the girl leaves and then me shall
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think that a lot of the times Laura like felt like she had to side with Suki or like it was the bit to side with Suki totally And then he walks out and he's she's like to be nice with him or like not that exactly totally that attitude like you make a great omelet I know Speaking of omelets speaking of omelets.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Luke.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: Should be walking to town and go to Luke So I'm gonna go to a diner report this from the diner The rest of this episode will be coming to you from a diner
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: With like diner sounds in the background that would kill you.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: You could not do that.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know it would be like what are we talking about who are we what's your name What's your what it and my name is my name is but where is the in relation to Luke's she can walk there and sometimes it's too far just to drive
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's true.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I just went across through like a river or stream or something.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but for or a stream, something.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: But speaking to like taking great pride in what you do, that is Luke Danes.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Luke is very proud of not just what he does, but what he's built.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it takes a second to look at that pride out of him.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: But we see it through more life.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: We do.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: And Mia also gives us insight to him and his insight in the site, to him.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: and who he was as a child because he used to help people carry groceries home for a matter of a bag.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was not charitable.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was already like a business man from day one.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, he was saving his little pennies and his little quarters.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: But, though, I would do, when I was younger, I was saving to get a baby from the American Girl Catalog.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: And so I had a little 10 can, and I would do chores for people, like I'd go to my grandma's house and be like, I can help you do something, and I'd put something away for her, and she'd put coins in my little dyes.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: And my little 10 can, and you are a little different.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, like 30.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: What is it called panhandling or panhandling?
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: Is that right?
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: I forget, what is it called?
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: Is that right?
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember, but I did, yeah, I had little a tin can.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: You'll drop your little quarters in.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's really cute.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you'll put a dollar in and I... Oh, and you were like, hey, big spender.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: Hey big spender, and it was the 90s, and I could order my mom ordered it, and then I gave it for my tin can.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's really cute.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's so cute.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: I love that sound.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: That feels like the change of like, you know, I was working for it.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: My mom, she wasn't just gonna buy me at all.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had to work for it.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: And so that was the Luke Daines of me.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he wanted something from the American Girl catalog.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: The American Boy catalog.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: God Chris baseball.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: God Chris baseball.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's Chris baseball at all.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_00]: Doll with a with a flannel.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Perna Spatula.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: I love that, Perna.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: Did you see they came out with little people?
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: I like little.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's so cute.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: You ordered them for something.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: I got them for something.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know it was funny is they were available the night before they announced it.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so I ordered them the night before and they sold out the next morning.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, you were there.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: I was there.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was rare.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was rare.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think that Luke's history with work is very interesting because he of course was
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: charging people a quarter of a bag for, yeah, carrying their groceries home.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: But then he started working with his dad at the hardware store.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: And in a way where he took great pride in the fact that he helped him when he was sick, over Liz, which he's, I think he's resentful about the, I 100% agree with you.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: but he definitely took enough pride in the work and the establishment itself to not get rid of it, he was like, I didn't want to do this anymore, and I knew how to cook, so let's make a diner, which is so funny because Luke is a handyman.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: I've never, can I, can I be so honest?
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: I've never understood why he made it into a diner.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm, I, I'm glad he died.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm so glad that he made it.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I am.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: And it makes a like, I love the lore of like, when he's telling Emily and forgets us and stuff when they're sitting in the hallway outside of Richard's hospital room.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: And his telling him was like, your father would be very proud.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, he would think I was like an idiot or something like that.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I love like the commentary around it.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm, at the same time, I'm like, you're, you're Mr. Fixett.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: But it would make so much sense for you to own the hardware like maybe you have like a little like I could so see that he had like a kitchen in the back of the hardware store and he like sold like I kind of food counter randomly there, but every time when he's like yeah, I turned it into a diner.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: I liked I like cooking and I was like, but you also are a handy man.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I wonder if he's a handyman and good at that kind of stuff because of everything he learned with this guy I'm so fair I was thinking about that today as I was writing it down.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like I guess I never put two and two together that he's kind of like He's not he's no Tom the contractor.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: I was actually about to bring up such a man But he is a handyman like when Laura I need something fixed who does she call she calls Luke?
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: go and go spurs and like maybe that was supposed to be a cliche like of course you call like the one guy you know call the one guy of course if he knows how to fix something but I do think that the hardware store aspect
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: is very like it plays into that.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good boy.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good boy.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but when he talks to Jazz, we're going to talk about it in a second and they have that argument about
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that is who he is.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: He takes great, great pride in what he's done.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: And as he should, as he should, especially because Jess is trying to insult him.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that there is a space between Jess and Luke's relationship where he could very well hurt his feelings in such a way that he's going to react and like, you have to go.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: But he stands there and he defends himself.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: He was like,
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: I own my own business, like, and I think that it's very rare for Luke to have the sort of self-awareness to be complimentary to himself and he is defending himself.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_00]: But he is like recognizing like, I have built something that you could dream about, that like, I'm in play of the century because I own this building, I own this business, actually, I own all of this because
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: but he's a lot like lower lie in that way.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I always equate lower lie and just as like need for money and talked about this earlier like the money equals freedom like I equate them to each other but with Luke and lower lie like they usually defend themselves with that kind of I've said the word pride so many times but just like
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: with how proud they are of what they have been able to build and accomplish on their own because even in the pilot I believe is when Laura lies says to Emily like, oh, you left us become a maid.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, I run the place now.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think that it's that's a point of
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: pride.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: To not to quote Hamiltonian but like pride is not the word I'm looking for because like drink every time you say it but I think that that's goes hand in hand with work that like people who take that sort of pride are going to be very successful with what they do especially because they're not the ones that are out there throwing a parade for themselves or like daily doing this it's like when someone tries to insult what they do they say.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: No, like, that's not, yeah, I have worked so hard and not going to stay in here and like you talked to me like that.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that with Luke, I mean, he named it Luke's.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: He did.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_00]: Can I tell you?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: I find that very surprising for that man.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: I do too.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he just was like, like, I imagine he went to the science store one day.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, one town over because there's no science store in store.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe there used to be.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, okay, what do you want to put on it?
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Luke's.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Luke.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: Or they were like, what's this for?
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's for Luke.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this is Luke's, and they got it back and it was like, I guess it's called Luke's now.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: That would be so fun to learn the word like that.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like it just seemed like just put my name on it.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: They were like, okay, this is Luke's.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then how did he decide to put it in a coffee cup?
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: Why did he go with that weird font?
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, well, on a production level, it used to be called Luke's cup.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, so Luke's inside a coffee shop.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's inside a cup.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's that.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: You're so right.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't Luke would never name it Luke's cup.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I think she was like, Luke's.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like he wouldn't.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: Or even if it was called Luke's cup, he would refer to what it's Luke's.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think he would do that.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'd call it like the diner.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_00]: Food and coffee.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: Food and coffee.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: Just like really straightforwardly.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Star's Hollow Diner, totally.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like something like that.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I love the he named it Luke's takes enough pride that he wants to be it.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I think with Luke, Luke has the most toxic relationship with work.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: He lives there.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: The place of work.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: He dies.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: He uses all of the plates and forks and cups upstairs in his apartment, which is an office.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was never meant to be lived in, but that's where he lives.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: He just doesn't really do anything else except goes fishing and floats
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like he doesn't have a lot of work.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: Life balance.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: Life balance.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say that it's toxic.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's toxic to live above your place of work.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: When it's not meant to exist there.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I just think that he was it's convenient.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's convenient.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think the person who is the most toxic relationship with what they do is tailor.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Don't see.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll talk about that in a minute.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through the Luke's employees.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's listen.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he also didn't hire any employees for a while.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, I should say to saw myself.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Caesar.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: And Joseph and Drew.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Or like, Caesar, part number one, Caesar number two, and then eventually, the Caesar we come to know of, yeah, exactly, man and background.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: What's his name again, Robert?
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: Robert.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he also works there.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so he had servers, but like we didn't really zero in on anybody who was a worker of his without like outside of the reference of Caesar besides Jess.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, until Jess.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: Until Jess.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: And as I mentioned before, Jess really views work and money as freedom because he values work over education.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's the necessity of it, and I think that that's why when I was making notes for this, that I was like, oh, that's two words that I put down for Laura and Jess.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like the same thing, especially because he's lying about it, totally.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: He works at Walmart, which I think we talked about in the money episode, that I was like, quite, it feels like surprising that Jess would work at Walmart.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: But again, working out of necessity, working to his skill set, working to his age, like range.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: No one's really going to have a teenager to do like a particular kind of job.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: And it's interesting because like, I mean, I know he did this because he didn't want Luke to know how much he was working.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: He needed to go somewhere outside of Star's Hollow.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where he could be a little incognito and a little like under wraps, but he chooses a job outside of Luke's even though he has the job at Luke's.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but he needs more.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: He needs more and he needs separation and individuality.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I think enough time.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so like his is just that he wants to work to have money, to have his own money.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_00]: But even when he's at Luke's, he might be making sarcastic a size open in umbrellas as jokes that actually need to be, oh seriously, um, but I think they would have had a lawsuit, right?
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why they're allowed to serve food like that.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I don't even regard this.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that he is a good worker.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think so too.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's a hard worker and I do think he's making jokes.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we're in the uniform.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: And even if he's doing something quote-unquote wrong by skipping school to go to work, I do think that like he eventually gets there.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: He eventually melts the two together, owns his runs his own printing press with his friends.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of is able to like find the venn diagram of his interests and his work ethic.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: Or so we think.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: So you think we assume we make a lot of assumptions before the elections, but like there's what they've given us is what Yeah, we can go off of so I think eventually he finds his way and to what he wants to do, but I think Walmart was the only one of those places that could give him that many hours And now he's at a place in his life when he can have a printing press write a little book But not on the way that Logan says, oh, you had a little book.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: I just meant like his book was actually physically little quite weak.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was quite a wee book written by Jess.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, by ya
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: uh... but i think it looks i think he was doing a job i think so too and the same way that i think that when lane comes in yeah even better i also agree and it's interesting because she grew up working for her mom yeah i can say takes family business you know she has that tie-in to look where it's a little bit like i grew up working with my mom obviously very different circumstances but but i don't want to go into the family business
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, she never wanted to go into the family business.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I really would have loved.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love the relationship that develops between Lane and Luke.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think they try to like expand on it in season seven a lot more than they did before that.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I wish that we'd seen her work at Sophie's music shop.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: I know, it just feels like such a perfect fit and when I'm so great, I think the reason that they didn't was just timing for Carol King to turn that many episodes.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: Totally agree.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_00]: Wouldn't it be a dream if she would have been like a regular as opposed to just a special guest?
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I just love when she goes into interview at Luke's and Luke is like, she's too good.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I can't keep her like, she's gonna be owning the place.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be lanes before you know it.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: And like, he seems so nervous around her because she's like so good at her job.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: No, I totally remembered him there.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: He did.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking to Caesar, who we come to know and love, like I do think Caesar enhances his work, especially when he leaves in season six, he does the Colpinanas.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was able to leave the place in the hands of Caesar, you know?
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: Which is interesting because he didn't leave it in the hands of Lane.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_00]: Layen had other plots that she didn't use.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, had had Balean and whatnot, but she does go to Luke's kind of out of necessity, but the first time she really explores it is when she sees that he's hired from any.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, I didn't even know he was hiring.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to work here.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: And she seeks that out because she no longer has if there was any income from Kim's auntie.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: She no longer has that.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: And for her similarly to Jess and Laura Lye,
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: work and money means independence and she's able to afford to the apartment with the boys being because she's working at Luke's.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Which I think is great.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's fun.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: I also also would do what you never would have put together a lane in Luke.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_00]: No, but there's so cute together.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just love her working there.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: I like the relationship that she builds with him.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_00]: And like it's sad but like ultimately she'll be able to build a good relationship with April which shows that Luke really trusts her and I just think that she's such a good addition I think that Caesar is a good counterbalance to Luke and I just like the way that Luke acts when Lane first starts working It's like oh, she's too good.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's too good.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: She's gonna put me out of business.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: Me the business will still be good But I'm gonna be out
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: But it's interesting because when Lane does go move back home during season six because she and Zaka broken up and the band is broken up, she's still working at Luke's.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: But she's working at Kim's antiques because she's living at home.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it's almost like by default, her just being at Kim's antiques means she's going to you just have to wear antiques.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like you're, if you're home, talk about a toxic work life.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: You were talking about that and I was like the one person who's literal home is
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just Luke and Mrs. Kim.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you're so right.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: Where does Patty live?
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: Great question.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: I could see.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_01]: What does Babette do?
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's my question.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_00]: She's a cat owner.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: She's more his wife.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: She's more his wife.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: But does she do?
- 50:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I, okay, I do think that maybe it's Mrs. Kim who has the most toxic work life balance because she doesn't leave.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, her work, if she brings her work home with her every single one.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, she brings her home to work with her.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: She never leaves.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_00]: She never leaves because it's like, she's downstairs working.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's selling the kitchen is like kind of a part of the antique store.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes upstairs to go to bed.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: But like, she has to flip the closed sign to be at home.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm home now.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm home now.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_00]: We are at home.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like we are close because we are home.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to know more.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know we never really get the origin of Kim Zanties.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: We have an understanding by the time we get to season six and we get to I get a side kick out of you when Ling gets married to Zach that like she clearly went in a different direction than what her mother wanted her to pass butter his foodist and and Mrs. Kim ended up becoming seven to adventist.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: So we know that there was a little bit of like that was her rebellion.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to know about the history and origin of Kim's antiques.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: Why it started?
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: What led her to star's hollow?
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: There's like, there's a lot of mystery there.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of mystery.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: I would really love to know how she got to antiques, especially if it's like the sort of thing of like, did her mom love things that were really modern?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: Was her family really into antiques and she couldn't get out of that.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she wanted to be a Christian antiques store owner, not Christian antiques.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: The remnants of Jesus.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know how that would work, but I think that like how very old handiques I think that'd be in a museum What but I just wonder how she got into that and I want to like immediately attribute it to her family and that she wanted to break out on her own Break the antiques, but just you know
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: But definitely the most toxic worth like balance.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's actually I still think one of the most toxic work life balances is tailor dosy.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this is my thing This is this is the reason I was gonna say that it's not toxic.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's because of who he is But that's why I think it's toxic.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_00]: No, he is not a toxic work life balance.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's a toxic person
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he just, some, what I wrote here is he wants it to be Taylorville.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: Every one of our cardigans tell it Taylorville.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: But he, he views work and his businesses as a level of control.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, his life is, there is no balance.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's his life is his work.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, even but then I think about what we talked about in our Taylor episode.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: Stop about him coming home at night
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to be a magician.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: Does he watch like old magician tapes on his home?
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: He practices tricks and he makes himself a cup of tea.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's all about his salt.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's making me sad.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I, I feel like because he goes to the, he goes to the market.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: He goes to Joe's market.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_00]: Also someone who named their store after themselves.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: Joe's market.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_00]: Docey's market.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: Taylor's old fashioned soda shop.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: Taylor's old fashioned soda shop.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_00]: Why did you say that I was like next?
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have, I have a contender.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_00]: No one has a good work life balance, but with Taylor, he goes to dosies and he still works everywhere else.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's still the town's selectman.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's still doing town's selectman work while he's backing groceries.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: He goes outside and he's measuring lawns because he's on some committee that has some ordinance and everywhere he goes and then he goes to the building and he owns that one building.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's like he always is working all of his jobs at all times.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when he's like at the soda shop, he is still trying to make his other work happen And I think he's the only person in town who truly could be the town select man.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: I great I mean because he just says everything.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: He knows everything and he has the patience for it Because he wants to do it and I think that that was like the one thing I was like of course we want Jackson away and we are so pro Jackson, but it's like Jackson you can't do this No, not your way the tailor can't
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're annoyed by him, but like he is good at his job.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Taylor Taylor is our man if he can't do it, no one can.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: No one can.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we don't want him to be the one to do it, yeah.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: But he's actually the only one that can.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like that market.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's run really well.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's always stop nicely.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: He gets things for Bobbett, the only Bobbett buys.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's actually very intentional.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's pretty good at that.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: And like having a soda shop in town,
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: Come on that was actually a great idea.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great idea.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, who does one of these tailors evil?
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people really don't like his character.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's multi-layered.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's multi-faceted.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's magical.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's a magician.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's a magician at heart.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: But when you said stalking all like that was like he stalks things really well.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: I was like stalk boy.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: All I could think of was Tristan with Dean, because of course Dean works at dosi market does market dosis and talk about a good worker, a hard worker.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's like how how we're introduced to him in the first episode, of course at school with the books falling in glory and her moving on.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: You should talk to Mr. Docey.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: No, you should talk to Miss Patty.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: And Patty is the one that says I talked to Taylor Docey.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: And they're looking for a checkout guy at the market.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, at the market.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like he, you know, far be it for us to talk positively about Dean.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't come a long way on Mr. Forscher.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think he is a solid worker,
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: Is it episode 22 when Rory shows in the catalog and picks like pick something out or is it the episode before I can't remember which one it is Yeah, I get the ends of those messed up But it's never really watched the edge.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_00]: It should take some candid Canada photos great advice for a rated by story, but
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: He talks about Taylor very positively and I think that it's that thing that we were actually talking about this with Kinsey on housecasts Is that sometimes if you don't know people you're making opinions about them about the way the other people talk about them Yeah, but like Dean who works for Taylor really appreciates him.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: He always keeps his schedule consistent He'll always give him extra hours even in the sense that like he needs more money So he went to the town meeting and he's putting all of the chairs away because Taylor knew he knew to more work
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm like that's quite nice.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and so he needed another job, and so he now he's working for Tom the contractor Tom That I feel like he shows up to the dragonfly and he is always doing a really good job He doesn't want to make a lower life.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: You'll awkward at her place of work So he kind of is a little standoffish, but it's not because he's annoyed at her I think he knows that this is weird and this is her space that I think he's actually a very respectful very good employee
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he does prioritize it like before he completely ruins his marriage.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he does, I posted this on Instagram last week.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to his marriage and like Lindsay wants a townhouse and like, we're in a very small apartment and we need something bigger.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: So like, I'm going to put a pause on school so that I can pick up more work.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_01]: And where he's like, he's like, I need money for what?
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: For things?
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: What things?
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, like, right, similar things.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hello?
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, he's a woman.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, because you know, say what you want about Dean and I have, but he is a hard worker and I also think it's that thing a lot of people are like, well, well, a lot of people being where I come are, why does that lends you get a job, but it's a lends you work.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't disagree with it, but it's also probably the thing of like Dean has multiple jobs and he's like, I'm working for us.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm putting words in his mouth, of course.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_00]: But like, that seems like the kind of person that Dean is.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's working hard.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, his mom did work, but I think that ultimately what we learned in Donner Reed was that like, he wants her to stay home and he wants to work.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: And we think that's what he was working.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure, but I think the theme that he is a really good worker.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: Look at us.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_01]: Look at us working on a relationship.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of working.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: But there are also a lot of people in town who's identities are for their character.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, I know Amy did this on purpose.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, their identities are wrapped up in what they do.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: Miss Patty being one of them.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: She's a dance teacher.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I love all of the things that are listed on the establishment it's like ice skating cheerleading cheerleading Like please teach me how to be a cheerleader.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_00]: I teach me how to be a ice skating cheerleader.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but that was when I thought to myself was like, what did and but but Bigger skating
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's a cheerleader.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_01]: She's a cheerleader, professional, but morey, I believe, like, my story story tall.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_00]: My lore for Mori though is that he like, you're very lory.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: My Mori lore, he wrote some sort of like jingle or something for like a commercial or television or their dinner jaded and they're just like making money off of it.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_00]: I can feel that.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_00]: They're just going in it.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're just kind of our local celebrities accidentally.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, it's okay.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I
- 59:51[SPEAKER_01]: But a lot of other people, like, they are tied to their job.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like Andrew, on the bookstore.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's what he does.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I don't ever sense that from him.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he walks around carrying books all the time.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he's out there.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_00]: People who we do.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_00]: I famously can't read the English, so I know that's I actually did bring my Kindle today knowing full well.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_00]: I was never gonna get a chance to read, but I I'm very right in more of the case, but you know what I'm saying?
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, Luke's like Luke is his Diana.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that's not the purpose that Andrew always serves.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, you know He's kind of an antagonist.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but sometimes friend.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sure, my friends and like I think talk about Talks like work life balance.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_00]: She thinks she's gonna live forever.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what vacation?
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to go on vacation
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, turn around, Cakes forever.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I do love Westerns, it's a place.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_01]: But we've also got like Kirk, who doesn't have an established talk about works.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, talk of ultimate freelancer.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: Work.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: We did a whole episode about him a couple of years ago.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: Kirk and Barbie Land is her favorite.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect Barbie Land.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_00]: Love.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's our ultimate Barbie girl.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: He is its true.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he's so many jobs.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_00]: Tom the contractor.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the most stable worker in town.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: He has an all kind of freelance, like doesn't have a friggin' mortar.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but he, I imagine he owns his business.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_00]: Tom contracting, I don't know what it's called, contracting by Tom.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, building by Tom.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: What renovations?
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: What is he going to do?
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_01]: He calls it like a, he like changes his name.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to be the first in the phone book when he becomes like a carpenter.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's in season seven.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it is.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember enough that you say it.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so yeah, he is going to be a carpenter.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like Jesus.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I feel like Tom because he has a very, he has a private personal life, but he does have a missus.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: He does have a missus.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll tell the missus.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: Is it you?
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe please.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_01]: Please.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_01]: But the one person that we haven't really talked about, which is kind of inconsequential, but Bootsie and his new stand.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_01]: Took over his father's newsstand.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that is really parallel between him and Luke.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: They took over their father's business.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_00]: And when they can never get along, and they can never get along.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: Turkey burgers very dry.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_00]: Very dry.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'd love that man.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_00]: You guys are not watching me as old with us.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Jackie.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: He used to play Jackie.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's incredible.
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_01]: But that is our Labor Day episode, all about kind of how people's identities, characters, identities, specifically in the town of Sarasala, because we're in a small town today.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to go outside to like, Richard, obviously, is a very specific relationship with our work.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: And we can't do that today.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have the time.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have the time.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_00]: Who has the time?
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_01]: But we want to talk about like, people's identities being wrapped up or not so wrapped up in what they do and in the jobs that I think Amy and Dan so creatively
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: offered to these characters to assist in kind of enhancing their characteristics that already were established without like hindering them.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_01]: You give people like places and things to do that like add to the storyline in a way that I think is really helpful.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that all of the things that these people do,
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: enhance their characteristics, so, you know, while adding like multiple layers to them because they're different friend, they're different, like, member of the community that we are at work, totally.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's the same, but I feel like for a lot of people, Suki comes to mind, but I know.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: It just creates so many different dynamics.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_01]: I love.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: But as always, if you enjoyed this episode, please leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, wherever you're listening, and subscribe to us on YouTube, because you can see us.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and the ends that behind us as we record a couple of episodes.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_00]: Monroe Room.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the Monroe Room, which is really fun.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll also post some pictures and videos of the Star's Hollow Room, which is really fun.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_01]: But we are actually going to be releasing a few more episodes.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's fall.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like Gilmore girl season.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're ramping up in our area.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're in our area.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_01]: So we're actually going to have an episode every Thursday for the next three weeks.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: As well as Tuesday.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: Tuesday and Thursday.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_00]: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes Wednesdays.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're going crazy this month.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so Thursdays episodes, speaking of work, there were a lot of actors who
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it wasn't their very first gig, but like love them.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: It was their very first role.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_01]: It was and um, they got their start on Gilmore Girls, which is very, very cool.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
