• 0:20
  [SPEAKER_00]: Hope you're doing well.
• 0:21
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the last time that we've been together.
• 0:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope that life has been treating you awesome.
• 0:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope that great things are happening for you and your family, those that you love, whole, near and dear to you.
• 0:30
[SPEAKER_00]: And hope that great things are continuing to happen.
• 0:32
[SPEAKER_00]: For you today today's episode is probably completely different from what we've been doing for the last year and a half But I I had I thought the need because I've been able to crack the code in a couple of areas, right?
• 0:48
[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to share this this podcast is not just about
• 0:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: One particular thing.
• 0:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not about me.
• 0:55
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about what I can share with you kind of value I can add to your life So I want to get started and get going right quick.
• 1:01
  [SPEAKER_00]: God.
• 1:01
[SPEAKER_00]: We thank you for the day.
• 1:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Bless us now Give us ears to hear and a mind to understand and your name a man.
• 1:07
  [SPEAKER_00]: I have
• 1:09
[SPEAKER_00]: been a professional speaker for 20 plus years right um one of the things that I discovered in speaking right and sharing and giving a message whether it be uh to a school, whether it be to adults, whether it be to a faith-based community, whether it be a corporate on corporate levels
• 1:38
[SPEAKER_00]: And oftentimes authenticity is born out of your ability to relate, to gear, to share, from your heart.
• 1:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Things that have really happened in your life.
• 1:50
[SPEAKER_00]: And I have people all the time, man.
• 1:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I can get a chance to travel this great globe sharing with groups of all different sizes.
• 1:57
[SPEAKER_00]: And every single time, just about every single time, every single group I talk to, people
• 2:09
[SPEAKER_00]: But what steps should I take?
• 2:10
[SPEAKER_00]: What steps do I need to take to get to where you are?
• 2:12
[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, don't aspire to get to where I am.
• 2:15
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's fire higher, please.
• 2:17
[SPEAKER_00]: I am not the bar by any stretch of anybody's imagination.
• 2:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I am, I'm, I'm learning this thing on the, I'm on this journey with you.
• 2:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm learning every step of the way.
• 2:27
[SPEAKER_00]: But what I do learn, I've learned this because I got to where I am because somebody shared and gave insights from their own journey with me.
• 2:40
[SPEAKER_00]: somebody had the courage or looked at me and said, you know what, I see something in you.
• 2:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Here is how you can get to the next step, right?
• 2:49
[SPEAKER_00]: So they're those who will listen to this podcast, who desire to be more comfortable in speaking publicly.
• 2:55
[SPEAKER_00]: They're, I've got a mess that's not long ago from someone who asked me, and they sent me a video, brave, brave, this person had courage,
• 3:09
[SPEAKER_00]: on their speech they gave to their company.
• 3:14
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about their team and they're the team lead.
• 3:17
[SPEAKER_00]: And they said, man, I bomb this thing.
• 3:19
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to some things I could have done differently when I was sharing with my team.
• 3:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I wasn't sharing my story.
• 3:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't doing a motivational speech.
• 3:29
[SPEAKER_00]: I was just simply giving some stuff to them that I heard from the top.
• 3:33
[SPEAKER_00]: That I heard from management that they wanted my team to hear.
• 3:36
  [SPEAKER_00]: But in my presentation,
• 3:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I've already fumbled it.
• 3:41
[SPEAKER_00]: And I've viewed the presentation, I've viewed the video, I looked at, and man, they had the information.
• 3:48
[SPEAKER_00]: They had point A, point B, point C, they had all the bullet points, they had the nice PowerPoint presentation, but one thing that they missed, that people I often see who have to speak publicly, who have to speak to their teams, who have to relay a message to their group, to their department, to the warehouse floor,
• 4:08
[SPEAKER_00]: one thing and if you hear nothing else on this episode, one thing that people often miss.
• 4:14
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're the senior class president and you've got to talk to your peers, whoever you are.
• 4:19
[SPEAKER_00]: If you are a teacher, sending in front of a classroom, and you've got the proper information, you've got the right information.
• 4:26
[SPEAKER_00]: If you are principle talking to your team, whoever you are, if you are CEO, talking to those that are with you partners and so forth, if you are middle management, and you've got to relay a message to those that are working with you, here is what I see lacking all the time.
• 4:47
[SPEAKER_00]: And here's what I saw lacking on that video that was sent to me that was full of information that was accurate, that was on point, information that could actually help those individuals that they were relaying the measures too, what I saw number one was a lack of confidence.
• 5:08
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to be successful in speaking to people, and communicating a message, not talking about key noting or on front of a stage of thousands, if you're going to talk to your group of five, your group of 10, your group of two, your group of 200.
• 5:23
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to relay a message to those that you serve, that they're going to leave and no full will, that what you gave them is going to change their work life, their personal life, their professional life, you got to be confident in the message that you're giving.
• 5:38
[SPEAKER_00]: So many people I see bomb, not because they don't have the right information, but how they will have the information.
• 5:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever been to, let's say, a church service.
• 5:48
[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody shared a message that was similar to the person that shared that same kind of message a week before, but it hit different.
• 5:57
[SPEAKER_00]: What hit different was not the information they used to say in Bible texts, they used the same parable, the information didn't hit different.
• 6:09
[SPEAKER_00]: The confidence in themselves to deliver that message hit differently.
• 6:13
[SPEAKER_00]: So what I see is individuals who have to serve if you're a basketball captain of your team.
• 6:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And you've got to rally those troops.
• 6:21
  [SPEAKER_00]: This is funny.
• 6:22
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a James Winston.
• 6:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: fan.
• 6:25
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't know who James Winston is, go look him up.
• 6:27
[SPEAKER_00]: James Winston played quarterback for Florida State.
• 6:30
[SPEAKER_00]: He was drafted first overall by the Temporary Book of Nears.
• 6:33
[SPEAKER_00]: And since leaving Temporary Bay, he's been a quite, like a little journeyman.
• 6:36
[SPEAKER_00]: He, this last year, he played for the New York Giants.
• 6:40
[SPEAKER_00]: The even prior to that, he played for the Cleveland Browns.
• 6:42
[SPEAKER_00]: But I first really, really came to appreciate all the, has to offer is when he spent two seasons as a backup
• 6:55
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's my team.
• 6:56
[SPEAKER_00]: You got some merch, some New Orleans Saints merch that you've made.
• 7:03
[SPEAKER_00]: You want me to rock on the show?
• 7:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I promise you, I'll rock you for you.
• 7:07
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a New Orleans Saints fan through and through.
• 7:09
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about back when we went trash bags and paper bags with the eyes cut out.
• 7:14
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, this this this era that we were in with Drew Breeze was new man.
• 7:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm shooting this when I was born.
• 7:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, our team was horrible.
• 7:24
[SPEAKER_00]: But James Wilson became a member of the New Orleans Saints.
• 7:29
[SPEAKER_00]: And from one I saw that he was confident, even though it's not cool, it's not.
• 7:35
  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's not cool.
• 7:37
[SPEAKER_00]: Even though it was not really the league for a person being a person of faith and it's not that, I mean it's not illegal, but you don't see a lot of outwardly show of individuals sharing their faith.
• 7:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that James Wilson, first of all, was not ashamed to share his faith.
• 7:57
[SPEAKER_00]: Secondly, I saw that he was never ever running from criticism.
• 8:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, they were ripping up, man, about his play, about his lack of play, and he was standing tall and taking it.
• 8:08
[SPEAKER_00]: But the third thing I saw, oh man, this dude was just doing this confident.
• 8:13
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the message he could be given, he could say the words wrong, he could say the words backwards, he could have the wrong packaging, but man, that confidence never wait for us.
• 8:23
[SPEAKER_00]: The way he packets his messages in terms of point picture, point picture, or the layout of his story telling the ability, it may not be cookie cutter, it may not be not cookie cutter, it may not be text book, that's the way I'm looking for, but he never lacks confidence.
• 8:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you've got a dress, because some people are afraid to even a dress family members.
• 9:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Some people are afraid, or the word are afraid is kind of loose to being used right now, but they don't feel confident in themselves when they're having to relay a message to people that they know.
• 9:18
[SPEAKER_00]: might appreciate the message and they may not appreciate the message.
• 9:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody you work with, they might not be in love with you, but if you're standing on business, right?
• 9:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, if you're confident in what you're sharing, you ain't there to make sure that everybody's on this, that everybody's in your, you're clapping your applause corner.
• 9:40
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's not why you're there.
• 9:44
[SPEAKER_00]: You're there to do your job.
• 9:47
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you have to speak up, and speak to a group to a team, the key to ensuring that that message hits people in the right place, so that they can leave in an implement it, you gotta be confident.
• 10:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, you gotta know your stuff.
• 10:14
[SPEAKER_00]: Confidence oftentimes listen people often.
• 10:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I may say this way people often lack confidence Because they're unsure Of themselves or the content that they're sharing if you're not familiar with the content that you're sharing If you're not familiar with the message that you're giving if you haven't gone if you just winging it You gonna be confident If you disappear just fly them out of city your pants
• 10:43
[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to be confident what you're sharing.
• 10:45
[SPEAKER_00]: So I want you to certainly be confident.
• 10:49
[SPEAKER_00]: But number two, I want you to be competent, right?
• 10:52
[SPEAKER_00]: If I've got a message from corporate, that I've got to give to my team of 35 ticks.
• 11:00
[SPEAKER_00]: and I haven't read, I saw ding that came a message from corporate, and I just saw the subject line.
• 11:08
[SPEAKER_00]: And I tried to go wing a message to my team based on the subject line, you got to order.
• 11:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you've never met with the content,
• 11:15
[SPEAKER_00]: You'd offer me with what corporate tell you to give to that team, right?
• 11:19
[SPEAKER_00]: So the best way for me to be confident in what I'm sharing with the team and that is going to hit the right place and get into their minds, so they can implement it is to ensure that I go through.
• 11:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, teachers are oftentimes hit with new curricular, new standards.
• 11:41
[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes they find themselves so frustrated that they don't
• 11:46
[SPEAKER_00]: properly read through the new standards, the new guidelines, and he finds himself sometimes out of a whack out of order because they're unfamiliar with their subject matter, but they're unfamiliar with how to package it so that it meets these standards, so what I'm saying.
• 12:12
  [SPEAKER_00]: If you get, it's
• 12:16
[SPEAKER_00]: I put together something that's coming out real soon, right, I'm going to say just stay to them.
• 12:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: Just stay tuned.
• 12:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: Stay tuned.
• 12:26
[SPEAKER_00]: I put together something that I think for those who desire to, again, people are always looking to pick my brain and ask me questions about how to get in different spaces and places.
• 12:40
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I've got the answer for you, and I want you to stay tuned to that announcement.
• 12:46
[SPEAKER_00]: But prior to that, before that even happens, imagine sitting in an auditorium, sitting at
• 13:08
[SPEAKER_00]: And the powers that be have summoned you, if they have called for your attention, imagine you sitting there, having to sift through a message that hasn't been properly
• 13:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Put together, oftentimes people who lead teams, people who speak in public, oftentimes they forget how it feels to sit in the chairs and be on the receiving end of what's being given.
• 13:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes people forget how it feels difficult or not.
• 13:51
[SPEAKER_00]: to be on the receiving end of an ill-prepared message, of an ill-prepared presentation, of a peace meal message that they, no, no, no, no, up listen, before I get up in every single state, listen, the other day I was in front of a group of 10-year-olds, whoo, man, and I thought to myself, if I were 10 years of age, number one, what do I want to hear?
• 14:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, how do I want to receive it, right?
• 14:22
[SPEAKER_00]: And number three, I'm thinking to myself, as I'm a 10 year old, about to receive a speaker or a motivational person to come into my school, what do I want to take away from that person?
• 14:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So here it is, short and sweet today.
• 14:44
[SPEAKER_00]: And in order for you to begin,
• 14:49
[SPEAKER_00]: communicating in a way that people can receive in a receptive of whatever you have to say, whether you're a professional speaker, whether you're a team lead, whether you're team captain, whether you're a class president, and order for people to be receptive of what you have to say.
• 15:12
[SPEAKER_00]: The first thing you've got to know is that you've got to be confident.
• 15:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let me, let me, let me, let me put a quarter of the meat and pork right here, because confidence doesn't look the same for everybody.
• 15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying you've got to get up and have a message that's, that's the style of this particular public speaker or less brown or I'm saying you got to get up there and have, you know, the, the command the room with your voice like an Eric Thomas or I'm not saying that.
• 15:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I've seen people who are soft spoken, who know how to command the maroon, just as much as somebody who has a loud booming voice.
• 16:01
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not about loud or soft.
• 16:04
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about how you use what you have.
• 16:06
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about being confident in what you have to share in your ability.
• 16:11
[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I am.
• 16:12
[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I'm trying to get to.
• 16:14
  [SPEAKER_00]: In your ability.
• 16:16
  [SPEAKER_00]: to convey that message.
• 16:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Your ability to convey that whatever that message is, whatever that report is, whatever that your ability to do it, I should see that you're confident in doing it, not so much that you're a bracket, don't you?
• 16:33
  [SPEAKER_00]: Is that a word?
• 16:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Not so much that you're up here,
• 16:45
[SPEAKER_00]: not just in my knowledge, confidence comes from oftentimes, your desire to properly relay the message so that the hero can take what you have to say and do something with it.
• 17:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes people will be talking on stages just to be talking, your goal ought to be as I'm talking.
• 17:11
[SPEAKER_00]: are people able to digest what I'm saying and put into play immediately something that I have to share that I have to say that will enhance their life and their being and add value to them.
• 17:28
[SPEAKER_00]: So I know today is a little bit different.
• 17:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not doing the regular motivational inspirational topic today.
• 17:43
[SPEAKER_00]: how communication should look coming from you no matter what the crowd looks like or what who they are and how you should always always always always be confident because you're competent and that you've kept those individuals in mind that will hear your message
• 18:05
[SPEAKER_00]: and you give it to them right where they are.
• 18:08
[SPEAKER_00]: So that lives will be better, they'll work will be better, and we can all move forward knowing that we've been served, been blessed by something of substance.
• 18:19
[SPEAKER_00]: This is an hope that you, I've heard something today that will,
• 18:23
[SPEAKER_00]: help your work, help you out in your profession, help you out again.
• 18:28
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to be a keynote public speaker, but wherever you are, wherever you're doing, we all have to communicate with other people at some point.
• 18:40
[SPEAKER_00]: So I hope these few pointers will have more to come.
• 18:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Of these few pointers on communication, we'll help you just a little bit so that you can help others.
• 18:51
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, thank you again for tuning in today.
• 18:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you always for your time, for your attention.
• 18:55
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for liking, subscribing, and sharing.
• 18:58
[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you for making sure that you gave this message to somebody.
• 19:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Dropped in the inbox, I text the link to them.
• 19:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Let the know that they need to hear this.
• 19:07
[SPEAKER_00]: If they are serious about communicating whale in 2026, they need to hear this.
• 19:13
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to hear this.
• 19:14
  [SPEAKER_00]: So share it out.
• 19:16
[SPEAKER_00]: have a wonderful one of Russia.
• 19:18
[SPEAKER_00]: We keep going, keep growing, keep going, and I'll see you next time.
• 19:22
  [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
