  Speaker 1: or a bartender, there's always somebody criticizing whatever you do,

  Speaker 1: whoever you are. How do you live with criticism? We

  Speaker 1: can't take them all a lot, You can't respond to

  Speaker 1: all of them. Let me coach, you teach you encourage

  Speaker 1: how to live with criticians. That's our thought for today,

  Speaker 1: now here know where. And Jesus came in, and Jesus

  Speaker 1: began the minister, and he began to teach, and he

  Speaker 1: began to teach, and while he was teaching, while he

  Speaker 1: was teaching, the Bible said that he saw her. He

  Speaker 1: saw her. It's you know, the Bible doesn't waste time

  Speaker 1: telling you things that you don't need to know. You know,

  Speaker 1: it just does not have enough room to tell you

  Speaker 1: in this room. Do you think God don't see you.

  Speaker 1: God sees you. He sees your circumstance, He sees your tears,

  Speaker 1: he sees your misfortune, he sees your predicament. He sees you.

  Speaker 1: describe it. He sees you. He called her Glory to God,

  Speaker 1: stuff that you can't do. That's how you know it's

  Speaker 1: asked a man with an infirm hand to stretch father's hand.

  Speaker 1: calling that's bigger than you. You need a calling that's

  Speaker 1: beyond your grasp and your ability. You need a calling

  Speaker 1: don't know how you're gonna take this, But the reason

  Speaker 1: comes the voice of the critic coming in to criticize.

  Speaker 1: And there are all kinds of critics. I'm going to

  Speaker 1: critic like a religious critic. You haven't been beaten in

  Speaker 1: the street by the crips or the blood, say anybody,

  Speaker 1: until you've been beaten by a Bible. I say that

  Speaker 1: because some of you are living with the critic. The

  Speaker 1: spirit of criticism will often use scriptures to validate its

  Speaker 1: right to exist. They said, I cannot believe you healed
• 20:25
  Speaker 1: her on the Sabbath day. Okay, he said, this technicality
• 20:33
  Speaker 1: is scriptural. But they use this scripture because Jesus had
• 20:39
  Speaker 1: exposed the eighteen years of the impotency of their ministry,
• 20:50
  Speaker 1: the incompetency of their priesthood, the irreverence of their religiosity.

  Speaker 1: He had shaken up their status quo. We're looking for

  Speaker 1: any thing they could do to shut him down, because

  Speaker 1: any time you're about to be effective, people will use

  Speaker 1: anything they can. His brilliancy exposed their darkness, his height,

  Speaker 1: exposed their death, his holiness, their wretchedness, his victory, their defeats,

  Speaker 1: his brilliancy, their decay. And so they grabbed whatever scripture

  Speaker 1: they could and do it at it. Technically, they were right.

  Speaker 1: They had the letter of the text, but not the
• 21:55
  Speaker 1: spirit of the text. People will kill you with the

  Speaker 1: letter of the text and not embrace the spirit of

  Speaker 1: gonna give you a few types of criticism. Number one

  Speaker 1: is institutional criticism. Institutional institutional criticism. Institutional criticism, give me

  Speaker 1: them my definition. Institutional criticism is to criticize behavior that

  Speaker 1: is out of context with their point of reference. They

  Speaker 1: criticize you because you don't fit into institutionalized thinking. You

  Speaker 1: are not normal to them. Your behavior is out of
• 24:36
  Speaker 1: the context of their point of reference. We've not seen
• 24:41
  Speaker 1: it done this way before. We don't do that at
• 24:45
  Speaker 1: our church. That's not what I'm accustomed to. Seeing as
• 24:51
  Speaker 1: if what you are accustomed to is the entire universe.

  Speaker 1: Then you become the Cisco and eBird of everybody else's

  Speaker 1: life based on your limited experience, and I must acquiesce

  Speaker 1: to who you are at the expense of who I am.

  Speaker 1: Anytime you don't fit the institution, you will be criticized.

  Speaker 1: I got a pause for a moment, But even when

  Speaker 1: I come back, I can't give you all the information

  Speaker 1: that I gave our congregation, and many of you you

  Speaker 1: really are my television congregation. I encourage you to get

  Speaker 1: these materials because it really made a difference in our church.

  Speaker 1: I think it'll make a difference in your life. You

  Speaker 1: don't have to be a pastor or preacher. It would

  Speaker 1: help you if you are, But even if you are

  Speaker 1: a barber, or even if you are pursuing some other

  Speaker 1: ambition or goal, or just trying to raise your kids.
