Speaker 4: Ladies and gentlemen. I am here in the studio with
• 0:49
Speaker 4: Hollis Lewis. Hello, Hello, and miss Lisa Odie. And uh,
• 0:55
Speaker 4: Unfortunately today I'm gonna have to start to show out
• 1:01
Speaker 4: by talking directly about my vikings.
• 1:04
Speaker 5: Okay, I feel so did you feel bad?
• 1:09
Speaker 2: Terrible? I hardly night, I can.
• 1:12
Speaker 4: I can feel that passion from both that you. Okay,
• 1:16
Speaker 4: so I guess you there's no place to start other
• 1:21
Speaker 4: than to me. The quarterback situation, Sam Donaldson all right,
• 1:29
Speaker 4: and Hollis you you've been a quarterback and and and
• 1:32
Speaker 4: you understand some of these falls And my question to
• 1:36
Speaker 4: you on this particular one is when do you like, Okay,
• 1:41
  Speaker 4: he's not a scrambler. Okay, let's make that case. He's
• 1:44
Speaker 4: not a scrambler. He's not really gonna run, but he
• 1:47
Speaker 4: holds the ball like forever, and how do you what
• 1:54
Speaker 4: is the what is the what is the thing that
• 1:56
Speaker 4: you would tell him like like throw it?
• 1:59
Speaker 2: Can you throw it out of bad?
• 2:00
Speaker 4: Can you? You know, you can't wait for somebody to
• 2:02
Speaker 4: get open, and especially if you know somebody's blitzing you.
• 2:06
Speaker 4: I mean, I would say this watching the game. I
• 2:09
Speaker 4: mean the Rams defense played excellent. I mean, if you
• 2:12
Speaker 4: make if you look at it, even the times where
• 2:15
Speaker 4: they didn't have necessarily a stout rush, they were able
• 2:18
Speaker 4: to blanket him in as far as the defensive line
• 2:20
Speaker 4: and the defensive backs had excellent coverage. So there was
• 2:23
Speaker 4: actually a lot of times where it just wasn't anywhere
• 2:26
Speaker 4: for him to go. And I would and I would
• 2:28
Speaker 4: push back on saying far as a scrambler, because I
• 2:30
Speaker 4: think every quarterback you have to be able to You
• 2:33
Speaker 4: don't have to be a scrambler, but you have to
• 2:35
Speaker 4: be able to run the ball. You gotta get five six,
• 2:38
Speaker 4: two three yards so.
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: But.
• 2:43
Speaker 4: Didn't have anywhere to go. Okay, So I want to
• 2:45
Speaker 4: ask this questions before you jump in. See, I think
• 2:50
Speaker 4: you can make the case that every quarterback can scramble,
• 2:53
Speaker 4: every quarterback can move.
• 2:55
Speaker 2: You have to be able to this.
• 2:56
Speaker 4: But I'm not sure that he I know he he
• 3:00
Speaker 4: can move, he can do some certain things, but he's
• 3:03
Speaker 4: not the quarterback that's gonna come out with eighty yards
• 3:06
Speaker 4: one hundred yards. And again you don't but you don't
• 3:08
Speaker 4: have to be no, you know what I'm saying. But
• 3:10
Speaker 4: there's gonna be a game in this game. I think
• 3:12
Speaker 4: he had to be. But I don't think you have
• 3:14
Speaker 4: to be that guy. But I think what to your point,
• 3:16
Speaker 4: you have to make a decision that at times when
• 3:19
Speaker 4: I'm seeing nothing, I have to make a decision that
• 3:22
Speaker 4: I'm one two, I'm on my first, my second read,
• 3:25
Speaker 4: third read, and I gotta take off.
• 3:26
Speaker 2: I gotta do something.
• 3:27
Speaker 4: And I think he was holding for something to happen
• 3:30
Speaker 4: and come open. But you know it didn't work out.
• 3:32
Speaker 6: So let me ask both of you this, So where
• 3:35
Speaker 6: do we stop laying all the blame on Sam Darnold
• 3:39
Speaker 6: and maybe looking at the offensive line.
• 3:41
  Speaker 5: Oh what, I.
• 3:44
Speaker 4: Got a place for that, like, you know, because I
• 3:47
Speaker 4: do I do think I do think that the offensive line.
• 3:54
Speaker 2: Did not do their do their part.
• 3:57
Speaker 4: Okay, but I think what is what had happened was that,
• 4:02
Speaker 4: you know, in reality, there was this you know all
• 4:07
Speaker 4: as you know, scouting reports, you know, all of this
• 4:09
Speaker 4: kind of stuff, and I think they realized that blitzing
• 4:14
Speaker 4: was gonna be the thing. I see, I's this thing
• 4:16
Speaker 4: they got outplayed. I think they go we can blame
• 4:20
Speaker 4: you know, QB, we can blame offensive line all that,
• 4:23
Speaker 4: but you know, far as the Rams defense versus specifically
• 4:26
Speaker 4: the Minnesota offense, they Minnesota offense just got outplayed. I
• 4:30
Speaker 4: mean Rams defense. They were aggressive, they were fast, they
• 4:33
Speaker 4: were athletic, and they just looked way better than none.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: See. But but but there's a there was a reason.
• 4:41
Speaker 2: Well let me let me back up.
• 4:43
Speaker 4: I'm not sure that that's the that's what the Rams
• 4:46
Speaker 4: do week in and week out. I think what they
• 4:49
Speaker 4: saw in the scouting report was that if you attack them,
• 4:54
Speaker 4: if you go after them, they don't respond. I don't
• 5:00
Speaker 4: think the Vikings. I just don't think the Vikings. I mean,
• 5:02
Speaker 4: what were they like fifteen and two. Yes, So it's
• 5:07
Speaker 4: not like this has been like, but once we got
• 5:10
Speaker 4: but once once you started narrowing it down to these teams,
• 5:14
Speaker 4: these last couple of teams, they okay, So if you
• 5:19
Speaker 4: say that, then what happened today?
• 5:21
  Speaker 2: What happened?
• 5:22
Speaker 4: You just got out played today or whenever it was Saturday.
• 5:26
Speaker 2: I was using today as well, Monday.
• 5:29
Speaker 4: You just got outplayed and it's nothing. And again, yeah,
• 5:33
Speaker 4: they were the better team on that day, and I
• 5:34
Speaker 4: think that's what it was.
• 5:35
Speaker 6: Yeah, I totally agree with that statement. But let's just
• 5:38
Speaker 6: look at the overall picture. What is going on with
• 5:41
Speaker 6: the Minnesota Vikings. It seems like they can get to
• 5:43
Speaker 6: the cusp of getting they can get a playoff game,
• 5:47
Speaker 6: and then they can't get past that. It's kind of
• 5:49
Speaker 6: like what the Packers are doing as well.
• 5:50
Speaker 5: So I'm not seers. Yeah, I'm I'm not gonna sit
• 5:53
  Speaker 5: on this.
• 5:54
Speaker 6: You know, high horse, and I like, you know, if
• 5:55
Speaker 6: the team that I cheer for did any better. But
• 5:58
Speaker 6: you know, they were the first fourteen win team to
• 6:03
Speaker 6: lose in the wildcard round ever. Ever, So what what
• 6:07
Speaker 6: I mean? I know the game before they lost to Detroit.
• 6:10
Speaker 6: Do you think that played a factor in their mindset?
• 6:14
Speaker 4: It shouldn't, but it could it could, but it shouldn't
• 6:18
Speaker 4: once that. Once you have that loss and now you're
• 6:21
Speaker 4: in the playoffs, now you're like, Okay, this is a
• 6:24
Speaker 4: brand new season. This is the very first game of
• 6:26
Speaker 4: our championship season that we're that we're gonna push toward
• 6:30
Speaker 4: the championship, right, And you show up that.
• 6:33
Speaker 6: Way and you can't even really say it was home
• 6:35
Speaker 6: field advantage because they weren't even playing in Los Angeles.
• 6:38
Speaker 6: They were playing at the Cardinals Stadium, correct, Yes, because
• 6:41
  Speaker 6: of the wild.
• 6:42
Speaker 4: And again yeah, yeah, yeah, and again you just to
• 6:45
Speaker 4: that point. While the Rams did not have home for
• 6:48
Speaker 4: the advantage, they probably had that extra umph because everything
• 6:51
Speaker 4: they were going through far as with the fire so
• 6:53
Speaker 4: that and I don't want to use that pun because
• 6:55
Speaker 4: it's in bad taste, but they had a little extra
• 6:57
Speaker 4: behind them because they were, you know, representing people who
• 6:59
Speaker 4: are really going through a difficult time the city, so
• 7:02
Speaker 4: they had like the city on their back. You know,
• 7:04
Speaker 4: I can I can see that being I can see
• 7:06
Speaker 4: that being a push. But six I think six socks
• 7:11
Speaker 4: in the first half when we're talking about we're talking
• 7:15
  Speaker 4: about the.
• 7:16
Speaker 6: Offensive line socks total Yeah, non soocks.
• 7:20
  Speaker 5: That's that's excessive.
• 7:21
Speaker 4: That's the most I think if I looked it up,
• 7:23
Speaker 4: and I think that's the most in Viking history. Sure
• 7:27
Speaker 4: that they that that they've had in like their sixty
• 7:32
Speaker 4: four years of existence.
• 7:33
Speaker 6: Yeah, and that I mean, and you know, I'm gonna
• 7:37
Speaker 6: have to go with what Holla said. I do think
• 7:39
Speaker 6: the motivating factor for you know, not only did they
• 7:42
Speaker 6: just outplay them, they had that motivation of what they
• 7:45
Speaker 6: their city is going through, that their fans, their people,
• 7:48
Speaker 6: so they had that little extra motivation, I would think.
• 7:52
Speaker 2: And I think stuff like that is real.
• 7:54
Speaker 4: I mean, people don't like to say that, but I
• 7:56
Speaker 4: think them coming in there, you know, not being able
• 7:59
Speaker 4: to be playing homes because of everything's going on with
• 8:01
Speaker 4: the wildfires, they were really representing the interests of just
• 8:04
Speaker 4: like the people who are just you know, going through
• 8:06
Speaker 4: it right now. But in addition to that, I mean,
• 8:08
Speaker 4: they're just really their defense is just Stout, or at
• 8:11
Speaker 4: least they play Stout that night. Yeah, I think to me,
• 8:14
Speaker 4: I'm not sure, and I haven't watched them week in
• 8:17
Speaker 4: and week out, I'm not sure I think that that
• 8:20
Speaker 4: was how they've played all year. But I think that
• 8:24
Speaker 4: there was something there was something there that the that
• 8:26
Speaker 4: the vikings were able that they could see in the
• 8:29
Speaker 4: vikings that they could they could come off the edge,
• 8:32
Speaker 4: they could they could go, they could twist and do
• 8:34
Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff up the middle and get
• 8:36
Speaker 4: and get to the quarterback. And once you get to
• 8:38
Speaker 4: the quarterback and you've hit him a couple of times, right,
• 8:43
  Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's a that's a pretty much of
• 8:45
Speaker 4: a done deal. And then how about being that guy
• 8:48
Speaker 4: and all of a sudden you're on the cup of
• 8:52
Speaker 4: getting a huge contract and your last two games that
• 8:55
  Speaker 4: you play, and.
• 8:56
Speaker 6: What are your thoughts do you think? Do you think
• 8:58
Speaker 6: that they'll he'll come back or future?
• 9:02
Speaker 4: I can I can assure you one hundred million dollars
• 9:05
Speaker 4: is not going to be what he's getting. Okay, but okay,
• 9:08
Speaker 4: but I'll say maybe not one hundred But who else
• 9:11
Speaker 4: you're going with that? And and this is my problem
• 9:14
Speaker 4: when we talk about quarterback and quarterback play.
• 9:17
Speaker 2: Who else you're going with? Who else you got?
• 9:20
Speaker 4: There's not a lot of great quarterback And again, when
• 9:22
Speaker 4: you're asking a guy like Sam Dardod to pass forty
• 9:25
Speaker 4: times in a game that people winning, yeah, you know,
• 9:28
Speaker 4: that's just not his style of play. I mean, they
• 9:30
Speaker 4: did a decent job running, but they only had they
• 9:32
Speaker 4: had twenty two carries for one hundred and six yards,
• 9:35
Speaker 4: but they were behind the eight ball, so they couldn't
• 9:37
Speaker 4: really establish the running exactly right. So but I would say,
• 9:40
Speaker 4: just from a general matter, who you're getting, it just
• 9:43
Speaker 4: ain't a lot of guys you could just plug and play.
• 9:46
Speaker 4: To your point, there's very few. There are very few.
• 9:51
Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers will be on the market quarterbacks.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: That you can you can you can drive.
• 9:57
Speaker 4: Again, I don't think that the draft is going to
• 10:01
Speaker 4: I don't think the draft is going to be their option.
• 10:04
Speaker 4: So you know this point, No, and to Lisa's point,
• 10:07
Speaker 4: you're gonna have to try to find somebody. You got
• 10:11
Speaker 4: somebody though, who was fifteen and two? You got somebody,
• 10:16
Speaker 4: I think. Let me ask this question.
• 10:18
Speaker 2: Let me ask this question.
• 10:20
Speaker 4: Winning football games doesn't always have to be that you
• 10:25
Speaker 4: got a great coach. Nor does it have to mean
• 10:27
Speaker 4: that you've got a great quarterback. No, yes it does.
• 10:30
Speaker 4: And I don't know about the coach part per se.
• 10:33
Speaker 4: But you got to have a really good quarterback, now,
• 10:35
Speaker 4: oh for sure, because everything's on the quarterback. Okay, So
• 10:39
Speaker 4: are we saying that the Vikings have a really good quarterback.
• 10:42
  Speaker 2: I think I'm not.
• 10:43
Speaker 4: I don't know about really good, but I think you
• 10:44
Speaker 4: have an improving quarterback.
• 10:47
Speaker 2: I don't think he was. Are you keeping him?
• 10:49
Speaker 4: Yes, I'm keeping them. Yeah, I'm keeping him. I think
• 10:52
  Speaker 4: he's a younger guy.
• 10:53
  Speaker 6: Right.
• 10:54
Speaker 4: This was kind of his first because I think what
• 10:56
Speaker 4: he came from the Jets, if I'm not mistaken, yes,
• 10:59
Speaker 4: I think so. Yes, So he came from the Jests.
• 11:00
Speaker 4: He didn't come from a good organization. So this is
• 11:02
Speaker 4: kind of his first iteration of being able to really
• 11:05
Speaker 4: show what he can do. I think he played some
• 11:07
Speaker 4: good last year, but I'm sort I'm building the continuity.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: I'm going to keep him and we'll see what happens
• 11:12
  Speaker 2: next year.
• 11:12
Speaker 6: Next year, And you know what, though, you can always
• 11:14
Speaker 6: look in the future and maybe during the draft, may
• 11:17
Speaker 6: maybe draft a promising quarterback. That's what the Pickers did
• 11:20
Speaker 6: whenever they still had Aaron Rodgers, which was the beginning
• 11:23
Speaker 6: of the end, but they drafted Jordan Love and so, yeah,
• 11:27
Speaker 6: he wasn't happy about it, and I'm sure Darnold wouldn't
• 11:29
Speaker 6: be happy about it either. But for the future of
• 11:32
Speaker 6: your organization, maybe you know, draft one of those.
• 11:37
Speaker 5: Top quarterbacks. From collegiate.
• 11:39
Speaker 2: So, okay, let me ask this question.
• 11:41
Speaker 4: So is there no conversation about the head coach who
• 11:45
Speaker 4: is also the offensive coordinator. Did he call the right game?
• 11:50
Speaker 4: Did he did he was the strategy right?
• 11:54
  Speaker 2: Or did?
• 11:54
  Speaker 4: Or?
• 11:55
Speaker 6: But do you throw the play of the whole season?
• 11:58
  Speaker 6: I mean, I know everybody's disappointed if you're a Vikings fan.
• 12:01
Speaker 6: I mean, I'm disappointed in the pickers, But do you
• 12:03
Speaker 6: throw out the work, the whole body of work that
• 12:07
Speaker 6: they performed during the season because of the loss of
• 12:10
Speaker 6: a playoff game which was pretty decisive.
• 12:12
Speaker 2: And that's my point.
• 12:13
Speaker 4: And that's the same thing when we talk about coach
• 12:16
Speaker 4: Thomas and the Stellers. You're in the playoffs every year,
• 12:19
  Speaker 4: You're you're you're again with Sam Daughter, you're improving with
• 12:23
Speaker 4: coach Thomas. You have a steady dose of being in
• 12:26
Speaker 4: the playoffs, but giving yourself a chance to advance and win.
• 12:30
Speaker 4: Are we gonna be that quick just to move on?
• 12:34
Speaker 2: Now? I'm this is not my answer, but I'm gonna
• 12:37
  Speaker 2: say yes. I don't. I don't think no.
• 12:40
Speaker 4: With the way the pay is now, I'm not gonna
• 12:44
  Speaker 4: I can't. I can't allow you to just just have
• 12:48
Speaker 4: a good season and you can't get me a you
• 12:52
Speaker 4: can't get me a playoff game.
• 12:53
Speaker 2: You're fifteen and two. Get it, I get it, I
• 12:57
  Speaker 2: get it.
• 12:58
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 12:58
Speaker 6: But but but that it was an embarrassing loss. That
• 13:01
Speaker 6: was that that that was a that was a loss
• 13:03
Speaker 6: that probably shouldn't have happened.
• 13:05
Speaker 4: Football specifically is not about having like fourteen and two,
• 13:09
Speaker 4: and what did you do with the fourteen and two?
• 13:11
Speaker 4: Fifteen and fifteen and two? What did you do with it?
• 13:13
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, the playoffs? You made it
• 13:17
Speaker 4: and what and you and you lost and you have
• 13:19
Speaker 4: an opportunity to build. The problem is with with that
• 13:22
Speaker 4: sort of with that line of thinking, those teams never win.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: You could take a look at.
• 13:28
Speaker 4: The Cowboys, right, they don't necessarily change players often per se.
• 13:33
Speaker 4: They changed coaches every other year every couple of years,
• 13:36
Speaker 4: and they are perennial, just doing good for a while.
• 13:40
Speaker 4: Then they never advanced because why he never built continuity.
• 13:43
Speaker 4: So I'm saying, with a guy like Sam darn who's
• 13:45
Speaker 4: a young guy, again, some aspects of his games has
• 13:49
Speaker 4: got to change, because if we look at like the
• 13:51
Speaker 4: final quarterbacks that are in the divisional round, you know,
• 13:55
Speaker 4: these are guys are you know you homes CJ. Stroud,
• 14:00
Speaker 4: the kid from the Commanders, you have hurt these guys
• 14:05
Speaker 4: you got obviously, Lamar Jackson. These are guys who can move, right,
• 14:09
Speaker 4: These are guys who are going to get you there
• 14:11
Speaker 4: two and three first downs a half. So I think
• 14:13
Speaker 4: Sam Dartis has got a Justice game a little bit.
• 14:16
Speaker 4: But I'm building continuity. But do you know if.
• 14:20
  Speaker 5: He can coaching?
• 14:21
Speaker 6: And you're saying that that should come from the coaching
• 14:23
Speaker 6: more so than the roster, right.
• 14:25
Speaker 4: Well, I'm saying coaching and the roster I'm saying from
• 14:27
Speaker 4: like if I'm playing the.
• 14:28
Speaker 6: General mass, the responsibility general manager okay, general manager okay, yeah.
• 14:35
Speaker 4: Yes, and no to the general manager, I'm saying, is
• 14:38
Speaker 4: the responsibility to keep the continuity, to try to keep
• 14:42
Speaker 4: something going and whether they lose. But but but the
• 14:48
Speaker 4: accountability is going to go to the coach, and then
• 14:50
Speaker 4: the coach then has to at some point in time
• 14:52
Speaker 4: has to say, well, you know what, I gotta let
• 14:55
  Speaker 4: you go.
• 14:56
  Speaker 2: Brop.
• 14:59
Speaker 4: So you're literally telling me what you have a young
• 15:02
Speaker 4: kid here, young a young quarterback who started maybe a
• 15:05
Speaker 4: year year and a half, who got you fifteen and two,
• 15:08
Speaker 4: got you to the playoffs, and you're telling me you're
• 15:10
Speaker 4: gonna ready to move on already.
• 15:14
Speaker 2: It's not I'm not making that decision.
• 15:16
Speaker 5: Is this his first or second year? What year is this?
• 15:18
Speaker 2: It's like year three of them. I think it's four.
• 15:21
  Speaker 2: I think it's four. Four, I think it's four.
• 15:23
Speaker 4: I think it's four. He spent some mad years with
• 15:25
Speaker 4: the Jets. But I'm saying that you're still a young player.
• 15:28
Speaker 5: I mean, how many years was he?
• 15:29
Speaker 6: This is his first year with the Vikings, No, second, second,
• 15:32
Speaker 6: That's what I first or second year with the Vikings
• 15:34
Speaker 6: is what I'm meaning.
• 15:35
Speaker 4: Okay, Well, see, I still think you I think there's
• 15:38
Speaker 4: an expectation when you go out and you make these deals.
• 15:41
Speaker 2: There's an expectation. Okay.
• 15:43
Speaker 4: So I'm bringing Lisa in to be a receiver, and
• 15:47
Speaker 4: I'm not going I'm not sitting here waiting on her.
• 15:49
Speaker 4: I may give her a five year contract with this
• 15:52
Speaker 4: amount of money, but I don't have five years to
• 15:54
Speaker 4: wait on her to come and produce for me, like
• 15:56
Speaker 4: I need her to show up now, Coach.
• 16:01
Speaker 2: What do you want? Well, I'm confused.
• 16:04
Speaker 4: Well, and I'm not I'm not really trying to take
• 16:07
Speaker 4: anything too. I'm not really trying to take anything from
• 16:10
Speaker 4: you are job. I'm not trying to take his job.
• 16:15
Speaker 4: I'm not saying that I buy into that philosophy. I'm
• 16:18
Speaker 4: just saying I think that's what the philosophy is in
• 16:21
  Speaker 4: the league.
• 16:22
Speaker 6: Well, and let's look at this, this kind of this
• 16:24
Speaker 6: angle the NFC North. At one time everybody thought that
• 16:28
Speaker 6: was one of the strongest divisions in the NFL. And
• 16:32
Speaker 6: they're on the edge. The only team that made the
• 16:35
Speaker 6: wild card or is left is Detroit Lions, and they
• 16:38
Speaker 6: got the buy right, so they what happens with them
• 16:43
Speaker 6: if they end up sitting on the couch, that tells
• 16:45
Speaker 6: you a lot about that division, which means I'm looking
• 16:48
Speaker 6: at the fact that maybe it wasn't as strong and
• 16:52
  Speaker 6: maybe people.
• 16:52
Speaker 5: Thought it was as people thought.
• 16:53
Speaker 6: It was, and that you know, they were playing those
• 16:55
Speaker 6: teams in the division that you know, beating up on
• 16:58
Speaker 6: each other, and it looked like they were a better
• 17:00
Speaker 6: team than they really were.
• 17:01
Speaker 4: Possibly and Sam Donald just but he's not necessarily. He
• 17:04
Speaker 4: came into the league in two thousand and eight, so
• 17:06
Speaker 4: he spent three years with the Jets. He spent two
• 17:08
Speaker 4: seasons with the Panthers, one with the forty nine ers,
• 17:11
Speaker 4: and then in one with Minnesota. So he's been in
• 17:14
Speaker 4: Minnesota first year, and I would say even those years
• 17:17
Speaker 4: with the Jets in the Panther, those are sort of
• 17:19
Speaker 4: dysfunctional organizations. So when he was actually able to get
• 17:23
Speaker 4: with good organizations San Francisco, Minnesota, he's actually you know,
• 17:27
Speaker 4: shown and proved. So he's been in the league for
• 17:29
Speaker 4: a little while, so he's not necessarily a young guy.
• 17:31
Speaker 4: He's been in the league for This is his seventhy
• 17:35
Speaker 4: this week in the seventh se see and I hadn't
• 17:37
Speaker 4: really followed him, so I didn't know that.
• 17:40
Speaker 2: So I'm glad that you pulled that up.
• 17:41
Speaker 4: But to that point, Okay, is there like this, is
• 17:47
Speaker 4: there a growth period from here? Is there like somewhere
• 17:49
Speaker 4: he's gonna get like, oh but this year, this next season,
• 17:53
Speaker 4: this is his this is his breakout yet. But I
• 17:57
Speaker 4: think this was a pretty I mean, he had a
• 18:00
Speaker 4: good season, there's no question. Thirty five touchdowns to twelve picks,
• 18:06
Speaker 4: he threw over forty three hundred yards, he had a
• 18:09
Speaker 4: sixty percent, he had a sixty percent QBR.
• 18:12
Speaker 2: He had a really good season had I think.
• 18:15
Speaker 4: But the problem is is when it got heated, When
• 18:19
Speaker 4: when the season when it mattered.
• 18:23
  Speaker 2: That's exactly yes.
• 18:26
Speaker 6: And I would be curious to see their whole schedule,
• 18:29
Speaker 6: the whole season and the teams that they played up.
• 18:31
Speaker 5: Hollis is gonna get it, okay, and I would.
• 18:35
Speaker 6: I would like to see, you know, their records and
• 18:38
Speaker 6: how many of those actual teams were successful in the
• 18:42
Speaker 6: wild card weekend because wild Card weekend was far from
• 18:45
Speaker 6: wild it was pretty much it went exactly as you
• 18:48
Speaker 6: know it should happen.
• 18:50
Speaker 4: But you can only play who in front of you.
• 18:52
  Speaker 4: So I get I think that's a legitimate argument, but
• 18:56
Speaker 4: I don't buy it. It's not like your you know,
• 18:58
Speaker 4: Alabama scheduling a D two school. You in the NFL,
• 19:01
Speaker 4: You're planning who's in front of you. So again, they
• 19:04
Speaker 4: were fifteen and two in the regular season. Who was
• 19:06
Speaker 4: in front of him? This was his first This is
• 19:08
Speaker 4: I think I'm not gonna say it's his first year
• 19:10
Speaker 4: as a starter, but this is his first year probably
• 19:12
Speaker 4: in a healthy organization, surrounded by good players and good team.
• 19:17
Speaker 4: He led them, And I'm just saying I'm not saying
• 19:20
Speaker 4: he's going to be the answer long long term, but
• 19:23
Speaker 4: I'm not ready to dump him now. I'm saying to
• 19:25
Speaker 4: give the kid another couple of seasons, let him show
• 19:28
  Speaker 4: what he.
• 19:28
Speaker 6: Can one season. I wouldn't give him a couple of Yeah,
• 19:31
Speaker 6: I would give him one more year, one more the
• 19:33
  Speaker 6: best and.
• 19:34
Speaker 5: Draft a quarterby Yes.
• 19:35
Speaker 2: April Best, I'm giving him one.
• 19:38
Speaker 4: I'm drafting off his line. Yeah, I'm possible. You're running back,
• 19:43
Speaker 4: you know, like, come on, man, that's what. Wow, we're
• 19:47
Speaker 4: just ready to dump you. I don't understand that. And
• 19:50
Speaker 4: it is And again it's the same conversation about Thomas, like,
• 19:54
Speaker 4: you're in the playoffs every single year, you are leading
• 19:59
Speaker 4: your team, giving your team him a chance, and it's
• 20:01
Speaker 4: literally people out there ready to say fire him or
• 20:05
Speaker 4: trade him, to let him go.
• 20:09
Speaker 2: I'm gonna think this out here.
• 20:11
Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, he's definitely a Hall of Fame quarterback, I
• 20:14
Speaker 6: mean coach for sure. But he's had eight losses in
• 20:20
Speaker 6: the wild card round and that's the second highest total
• 20:23
Speaker 6: in NFL history. So once again, it's not about what
• 20:27
Speaker 6: we're doing during the season. They lost their last five games,
• 20:30
Speaker 6: their last five games they lost.
• 20:33
Speaker 2: Now is that the team or is that him? Or
• 20:38
Speaker 2: who do we blame this on? But are we blaming
• 20:40
Speaker 2: for getting into the playoffs? We're blaming if you don't
• 20:43
  Speaker 2: keep moving.
• 20:44
Speaker 4: But the thing is, we're blaming you for getting in
• 20:48
  Speaker 4: the playoffs.
• 20:49
Speaker 5: You're in the playoffs year getting there. If you go
• 20:51
Speaker 5: eight times to lose, that there's an issue.
• 20:54
Speaker 4: There's no there is zero benefit, there is zero benefits
• 20:58
  Speaker 4: of making.
• 21:00
  Speaker 6: I mean, I like him that I don't know if
• 21:02
Speaker 6: Pittsburgh is the place he needs to be anymore.
• 21:05
Speaker 2: Listen, I'll make this case.
• 21:07
Speaker 4: Like it or not, Okay, if you're not, if you're
• 21:12
Speaker 4: not going to win a playoff game, why even bother?
• 21:17
Speaker 2: Like, why are you talking?
• 21:19
Speaker 4: Because if if you can't, if you can't, if you
• 21:23
Speaker 4: can't keep moving up the ladder. I'm a quarterback at
• 21:30
Speaker 4: that level again in Pittsburgh. But we all want to
• 21:33
Speaker 4: win the games. We all want to try to make
• 21:35
Speaker 4: the super Bowl every single year. But if I know
• 21:38
Speaker 4: that I could pretty much count on this team and
• 21:40
Speaker 4: my coach leading them to the playoffs, I'm giving myself
• 21:44
  Speaker 4: as if I'm thinking as a let's say i'm thinking
• 21:46
Speaker 4: as a general manager or a team owner, I know
• 21:49
Speaker 4: that my team has a shot because we're going to
• 21:51
Speaker 4: be there again, even this season. He took two quarterbacks
• 21:55
Speaker 4: that everybody threw away.
• 21:57
Speaker 2: Everybody threw away and maybe we know why.
• 22:00
Speaker 4: No, they've let him to the playoffs. They got to
• 22:03
Speaker 4: the playoffs. You know why, because they can't get you
• 22:05
Speaker 4: over the house. But they got to the playoffs. It
• 22:09
Speaker 4: doesn't mean something. You get a playoff check. When you
• 22:11
Speaker 4: played for the Minnesota did you get a playoff teck? Yes,
• 22:14
  Speaker 4: it means something.
• 22:15
Speaker 5: People can see your faces right now. Me up.
• 22:18
  Speaker 6: Well, I'm not saying don't they'll throw I don't think
• 22:22
Speaker 6: they'll kick Mike Tomlin to the to the curb. I
• 22:24
  Speaker 6: really don't.
• 22:25
  Speaker 5: I do think.
• 22:26
Speaker 4: I think there's gonna be people that are gonna want
• 22:27
Speaker 4: to well, of course, but who you gonna who you're
• 22:32
  Speaker 4: gonna get?
• 22:33
Speaker 6: I don't think they will get. I think there will
• 22:35
Speaker 6: be some coaching staff and roster changes in Pittsbagh. But
• 22:40
Speaker 6: I do also think he's probably on that timeline of maybe.
• 22:43
Speaker 5: Just a year or two of winning.
• 22:46
Speaker 6: Yes, I mean, come on, now, how can you argue
• 22:49
Speaker 6: it's losses in the.
• 22:51
Speaker 2: Playoffs as a fundamental matter.
• 22:53
Speaker 4: This is what's wrong with sports, is a fundamental matter
• 22:58
Speaker 4: because we don't we don't give people, we don't give players, coaches,
• 23:04
Speaker 4: we don't give you a chance to just go through
• 23:06
  Speaker 4: the adversity.
• 23:06
Speaker 2: And come out on the other side.
• 23:08
  Speaker 5: That's a lot.
• 23:09
Speaker 2: But you've made the playoffs to.
• 23:12
Speaker 5: You can't get over the hump.
• 23:13
Speaker 6: Man, I'm not hating anybody.
• 23:17
Speaker 2: I'm my hat's off to you.
• 23:19
Speaker 4: If you make the playoffs, it is it's it's my
• 23:22
Speaker 4: hat's off to you.
• 23:22
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 23:23
Speaker 5: The wild card is not that.
• 23:28
Speaker 4: But if you get in, if you get in, if
• 23:30
Speaker 4: you get in for me, if you get in, Okay,
• 23:33
  Speaker 4: if you're in, that's a that's a big deal. That's
• 23:36
Speaker 4: that's progress for the organization, yes, but for the for
• 23:41
Speaker 4: the for the financially rewarded players. Who are the ones
• 23:47
Speaker 4: who are who are the ones who take us over
• 23:50
Speaker 4: the hump? Which is always more than likely going to
• 23:53
Speaker 4: be a quarterback. And let's use this example that we're
• 23:57
Speaker 4: that we're talking about now. If you can, if you
• 24:02
Speaker 4: successfully put us in a hole when you get into
• 24:07
Speaker 4: when we get into the playoffs and we keep losing
• 24:10
  Speaker 4: with you.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: Under center, you are the problem.
• 24:16
Speaker 4: Okay, key you or here's the You got three people
• 24:19
Speaker 4: who that that can only be the issue quarterback, offensive coordinator.
• 24:25
  Speaker 2: Or head coach.
• 24:26
Speaker 5: You going to what about defense?
• 24:29
Speaker 2: And maybe the GM Yes, I think defense is key.
• 24:32
Speaker 4: But the guy who's getting the money that is the quarterback.
• 24:38
Speaker 4: And you're not gonna and you're and you're not gonna
• 24:40
Speaker 4: be talking about a contract for a head coach, like
• 24:43
Speaker 4: you're in Pittsburgh. How do you how do you walk
• 24:45
Speaker 4: in there and say, Okay, and you know what I've
• 24:47
Speaker 4: I've went to the I've went to the playoffs eight
• 24:50
Speaker 4: years in a row. I've never not I've never not
• 24:52
Speaker 4: missed the playoffs. I've never always always been in the playoffs.
• 24:56
Speaker 6: I got a super Bowl, one of them Super Bowl,
• 25:00
Speaker 6: and like I said.
• 25:02
Speaker 4: And again, even in that game, the last game, they
• 25:05
Speaker 4: made that second half, they almost came back and won
• 25:09
Speaker 4: that game. But I can but I'm still I'm still
• 25:12
Speaker 4: it's still not We're only on this conversation with him
• 25:16
Speaker 4: because you you brought this one up. So I'm gonna
• 25:19
Speaker 4: say that the fact that you brought him up, I
• 25:22
Speaker 4: think that, yes, there there is a conversation of like
• 25:26
Speaker 4: we well, there is conversation.
• 25:28
Speaker 2: They're having this conversation on.
• 25:29
Speaker 4: Sports News Network and they're saying like, okay, they're not
• 25:35
Speaker 4: looking at like how many how many times you made
• 25:37
Speaker 4: the playoffs? You know you you know you you've not
• 25:40
Speaker 4: done anything there. Making the playoffs is one thing. Making
• 25:45
Speaker 4: it year and year after year after year. Okay, that's
• 25:47
Speaker 4: a good thing. But at some point you gotta. You
• 25:50
Speaker 4: gotta get over the hump. At some point you gotta
• 25:53
Speaker 4: because if you don't get over the hump, you you're
• 25:56
Speaker 4: not helping us well.
• 25:58
Speaker 6: And they they probably in Pittsburgh, need to take a
• 26:00
Speaker 6: look at their defense as well, because the Ravens outrush
• 26:03
Speaker 6: the Steelers two hundred and ninety nine yards to twenty nine.
• 26:06
Speaker 5: So that's an issue.
• 26:08
Speaker 7: And I can run the ball. Once you establish a run,
• 26:11
Speaker 7: we all know what happened back. The runner back is
• 26:13
Speaker 7: definitely not a extinct position. I think we've seen in
• 26:16
Speaker 7: college football. We'll talking about later in the NFL.
• 26:19
Speaker 4: If you got a good running back and if you
• 26:20
Speaker 4: got an offensive line that can get that push, you
• 26:22
Speaker 4: gonna win some playoffs.
• 26:23
Speaker 2: Look at they either sure, well see and I think
• 26:25
Speaker 2: the running game is coming back.
• 26:27
Speaker 4: It's back, you know, because at this point, sure they
• 26:30
Speaker 4: know that the defense is not tackling you getting the secondary.
• 26:34
Speaker 2: Those guys are not tackling.
• 26:35
Speaker 4: The Ravens had a drive where they had a thirteen
• 26:37
Speaker 4: play drive. All runs end up in a touchdown. Thirteen
• 26:41
Speaker 4: play drive in the NFL.
• 26:43
Speaker 2: All runs, that has to go back, way back, way back.
• 26:47
  Speaker 2: I don't back into death.
• 26:48
Speaker 4: Wait, that might be like seventy sixty like literally thirteen
• 26:52
Speaker 4: played your thirteen runs touchdown. But I will say this,
• 26:57
Speaker 4: and I understand that there's a point in which you
• 26:58
Speaker 4: got to get over the hump. But I'll standards a
• 27:00
Speaker 4: point of like continuity and you're dropping off. And I
• 27:03
Speaker 4: think in Toma's case, he's not necessarily dropping off, although
• 27:07
Speaker 4: it's not getting necessarily marketingly better as far as improving
• 27:11
Speaker 4: your status and going further in the playoffs. So I
• 27:13
Speaker 4: think that's a conversation that they will have to have
• 27:15
Speaker 4: and you have to get better by doing things, like
• 27:17
Speaker 4: you said, maybe adjusting that rosching coaching staff. In the
• 27:20
Speaker 4: case of Sam Donaldson, like I think this is this
• 27:24
Speaker 4: is his first season, so I think we have to
• 27:26
Speaker 4: allow him a season or two to see what more
• 27:30
  Speaker 4: they can.
• 27:30
  Speaker 5: Do one years.
• 27:35
Speaker 6: Here's the other part of it, to guys, and you'll
• 27:37
Speaker 6: have to agree, it's the fan base, Yes, that you've
• 27:40
Speaker 6: got to worry about. Like they they get you know,
• 27:43
Speaker 6: this is they spend a lot of money to see quality.
• 27:46
Speaker 4: You know, teams those two organizations quality.
• 27:50
Speaker 5: They want to win a playoff game. They want to
• 27:52
  Speaker 5: see that.
• 27:52
Speaker 2: Where the cowboys or you can be like the cowboys.
• 27:56
Speaker 4: We're gon we're gonna pick this up just a little
• 28:00
Speaker 4: bit coming back out of the break. But I'm gonna
• 28:02
Speaker 4: just say this, I don't know, Hollis, where you get
• 28:06
Speaker 4: that winning a playoff game satisfy as a fan. I'll
• 28:13
Speaker 4: hold off, You'll hold off, hold out by thy good.
• 28:15
Speaker 4: We got to take a quick break and we'll be
• 28:17
  Speaker 4: right back.
• 28:18
Speaker 8: Let's face it, bad things happen to good people seriously
• 28:21

Speaker 4: was it Hollis or at least one of y'all had
• 29:33
Speaker 4: something you wanted to get. What I'm saying is like
• 29:35
Speaker 4: I think as a fan, because you talked about just
• 29:38
Speaker 4: getting to the playoffs won't well, excuse me, will not
• 29:42
Speaker 4: satisfy the fan base. And I'm saying, as a fan,
• 29:44
Speaker 4: if my team is in the playoffs consistently, I'm fine
• 29:49
Speaker 4: with that. And again, as a fan, you want your
• 29:50
Speaker 4: team to win in excel but if I have an opportunity,
• 29:53
Speaker 4: but I don't have the opportunity if I'm sitting at home,
• 29:56
Speaker 4: the Bengals are sitting at home. They had a winning record,
• 29:58
Speaker 4: they didn't do what they needed to do in the
• 29:59
Speaker 4: beginning of the season. They're sitting at home. So I'm
• 30:02
Speaker 4: sure a Bengal fan right now would rather for them
• 30:05
Speaker 4: to be in the playoffs than be sitting at home,
• 30:08
Speaker 4: whether it was a first round loss, second round loss.
• 30:10
  Speaker 2: Or one.
• 30:10
Speaker 6: That's because they're not there all the time. I think,
• 30:12
  Speaker 6: I think, I don't know. I mean, I think it
• 30:14
Speaker 6: makes a difference with with the Steelers. It seems like
• 30:17
Speaker 6: they they go most every year to a playoff game
• 30:21
Speaker 6: and then they lose. And that's the problem. That's when
• 30:23
Speaker 6: the fans get anty. When you skip three, four or
• 30:26
Speaker 6: five years of not going to the playoffs and I
• 30:28
Speaker 6: think there's no expectation, and then you make a playoff.
• 30:31
Speaker 6: Then you're then you're like, Okay, we lost, but we
• 30:33
Speaker 6: made the playoffs. Yes, But when you start making the
• 30:35
Speaker 6: playoffs year in and year out and keep losing that.
• 30:38
Speaker 5: Wild card game, there's a problem. The fans are mad.
• 30:42
Speaker 6: They're not they don't accept that because they're used to.
• 30:45
Speaker 6: They want to, they want to take it to the
• 30:47
Speaker 6: next level because they've been.
• 30:48
Speaker 5: To the playoff game. They're not appreciative of it.
• 30:51
Speaker 4: As a West Virginia resident, as a West Virginia resident,
• 30:56
Speaker 4: I would much rather go back to where that we
• 31:00
Speaker 4: are there, hopefully go back to rich Rod and don
• 31:03
Speaker 4: Niel and days when we were constantly in the mix. Again,
• 31:07
Speaker 4: neither one of the coaches won a championship, but they
• 31:09
Speaker 4: were constantly in the mix, as opposed to what's happened
• 31:12
Speaker 4: in the last five ten seasons where we just ain't
• 31:15
Speaker 4: nowhere on the national You can say that in hindsight,
• 31:18
  Speaker 4: I'm saying that.
• 31:20
Speaker 2: No, No, I'm saying that because I've been through both.
• 31:23
Speaker 4: I've been through where we're just we're not quite over
• 31:25
Speaker 4: the hump, but we're constantly in the mix, and then
• 31:28
Speaker 4: been these last few years where it's just we ain't
• 31:31
Speaker 4: nowhere in the mix, We're not even on the national discussion.
• 31:33
Speaker 4: I'd rather be in the mix. Okay, Well, let me
• 31:35
Speaker 4: ask this question. Let me ask this question. Okay, So
• 31:39
Speaker 4: you you want to be in the mix. So you
• 31:41
Speaker 4: want to you so, okay, So I'm the player, Okay,
• 31:46
Speaker 4: so you're the coach and you want to be in
• 31:47
Speaker 4: the mix, and you're satisfied.
• 31:48
Speaker 2: Being in the satisfied.
• 31:50
Speaker 4: I'm saying that as long as you be there, and
• 31:53
Speaker 4: give myself an opportunity, and I'm I'm watching Lisa's team.
• 31:57
Speaker 4: You know, I'm I'm on your team. I'm playing for you,
• 32:00
Speaker 4: and I'm watching Least's team get to the super Bowl, win,
• 32:05
Speaker 4: win it, lose it, win at least a couple of
• 32:07
Speaker 4: playoff games, and then get put out.
• 32:10
Speaker 2: I want that, But Okay, here's what I'm saying. Though
• 32:15
Speaker 2: I like that. We all want that.
• 32:18
Speaker 4: But even if you look at the NFL, if you
• 32:20
Speaker 4: probably look up the last twenty seasons, who's been in
• 32:22
Speaker 4: the who's been in the super Bowl. It's been in
• 32:24
Speaker 4: the Chiefs. It's been the Patriots, It's been the Eagles,
• 32:27
Speaker 4: It's been the Rams. It's been the same team. Right,
• 32:30
Speaker 4: so most teams, so eighty percent of the teams in
• 32:33
Speaker 4: the NFL ain't even making it. Are not consistently making
• 32:36
Speaker 4: the super Bowl, They're not making rounds and rounds.
• 32:38
  Speaker 2: Of the playoffs.
• 32:39
Speaker 4: So if I have a coach over that span of
• 32:41
Speaker 4: time who has consistently pit me in the mix, who
• 32:44
Speaker 4: consistently give me my organization an opportunity, I'm not saying
• 32:48
Speaker 4: I'm satisfied in totality, but I can live with that
• 32:53
Speaker 4: as opposed to what like the Cowboys doing or or
• 32:55
Speaker 4: another team where it's kind of up and down.
• 32:57
Speaker 2: I'll live with Tom. I think I think Tom look
• 33:01
  Speaker 2: to me, I don't.
• 33:02
Speaker 4: Think he he he should be fired.
• 33:05
Speaker 6: I think that he has done Oh I think he
• 33:08
Speaker 6: will be fired. I think he leaves on his own terms.
• 33:11
  Speaker 6: I mean, I really I feel like he's done enough
• 33:12
Speaker 6: in Pittsburgh and the fact that he's probably going to
• 33:14
Speaker 6: the Hall of Fame.
• 33:15
Speaker 5: I think he will leave on his own term.
• 33:17
Speaker 2: Okay, so let me ask Okay, so let me he
• 33:19
  Speaker 2: may get.
• 33:19
Speaker 6: Some pressure to leave on his own terms, but I
• 33:21
  Speaker 6: don't think they'll have a fire him.
• 33:23
Speaker 2: But so let me ask this. If when would be
• 33:27
Speaker 2: that time? Is it now?
• 33:28
Speaker 5: Is it not now?
• 33:30
Speaker 4: I think I think for him it would depend on
• 33:34
Speaker 4: probably the opportunity, because I think he do you go,
• 33:37
Speaker 4: does he go seek it? Or does somebody come knocking
• 33:40
Speaker 4: on his door. I think it could be either way,
• 33:42
Speaker 4: but it has to be the right opportunity. And I'll say,
• 33:44
Speaker 4: and I'll use Andy Reid as a as an example. Right,
• 33:47
Speaker 4: Andy Reid, he was in Philly again, same sort of situation.
• 33:51
Speaker 4: He would go to the playoffs, get to the NFC Championships.
• 33:54
Speaker 4: Every year they were in the mix anyways, but never
• 33:56
Speaker 4: quite got over the hump. And then you go to
• 33:58
Speaker 4: a situation in Kansas City where you have a guy
• 34:01
Speaker 4: like Patrick Mahomes or you do like the Phil Jackson
• 34:03
Speaker 4: thing while going from the Bulls to the Lakers.
• 34:05
Speaker 2: But I got Shaq and Kelby over here.
• 34:07
Speaker 4: So I think for Thomas and you would have Thomas,
• 34:09
Speaker 4: you would have to go to a situation where you
• 34:12
Speaker 4: got like a perennial Hall of Fame quarterback, where you're
• 34:15
Speaker 4: not trying to at least create that position.
• 34:17
Speaker 2: You gotta go somewhere.
• 34:19
Speaker 4: Well, Okay, I could put some defense around this kid,
• 34:21
Speaker 4: I could puss some give me some running backs for receivers,
• 34:23
Speaker 4: but I gotta have that guy in the center.
• 34:25
Speaker 2: So you gotta go.
• 34:26
Speaker 4: You gotta find that that opportunity and then maybe you
• 34:29
Speaker 4: can go from there. But I don't imagine the situation
• 34:32
Speaker 4: where you're going to, you know, organization, where you're gonna
• 34:34
Speaker 4: have to like Cleveland, where you're just starting all over
• 34:37
Speaker 4: that that wouldn't work for him. So I'm going to
• 34:39
  Speaker 4: a situation where I got that quarterback. I know I
• 34:43
Speaker 4: got him for the next team. But if to your point,
• 34:45
Speaker 4: if I'm Cleveland and I really, really want you you ain't.
• 34:50
Speaker 2: You cant stop that right now.
• 34:51
Speaker 4: I'm just gonna say, I'm gonna throw a bunch of
• 34:53
Speaker 4: money in front of you.
• 34:54
Speaker 2: You know, now, does he does? He does? He does
• 34:57
Speaker 2: he bite on the money? No? Probably, maybe not.
• 35:01
Speaker 6: I don't think he goes anywhere this year, honest, I
• 35:03
Speaker 6: don't know. I do think there'll be changes around him.
• 35:05
Speaker 6: I do think there will be major changes around him,
• 35:08
Speaker 6: roster assistant coaches, but they will keep him.
• 35:12
Speaker 5: I mean, he's the face of the steal.
• 35:13
Speaker 2: I think so. I think that. I think that too.
• 35:17
Speaker 4: I think what what a lot of these programs in
• 35:20
Speaker 4: this situation that we've talked about already. I think what
• 35:25
Speaker 4: you do is, if you're going to do something, I
• 35:30
Speaker 4: think you go in and as the as the head coach,
• 35:34
Speaker 4: you need to know you need to you need another
• 35:36
Speaker 4: defensive coordinator, you need another offensive coordinator, you need you know,
• 35:40
Speaker 4: a receiver coach. You need somebody in there to give
• 35:45
Speaker 4: you something a little bit different. Now, if you are
• 35:49
Speaker 4: the head coach and the coordinator, that's a that's an issue.
• 35:51
Speaker 4: Maybe you should just be the head coach and maybe
• 35:54
Speaker 4: you should get you a coordinator and you can still
• 35:57
Speaker 4: talk with him about what you kind of want to do,
• 36:00
Speaker 4: because I think that also takes some of that pressure.
• 36:02
Speaker 2: Off of you as being that guy.
• 36:06
Speaker 4: Because usually the guy who's gonna the first guy that
• 36:09
Speaker 4: you're gonna blame is you're gonna be your coordinator.
• 36:11
Speaker 2: You know you're gonna get rid of him. But when
• 36:13
Speaker 2: you're when you're the head coach and.
• 36:15
Speaker 4: You're the offensive coordinator, and and and you know you're
• 36:20
Speaker 4: you're you're sacked nine times, that's on you. So who
• 36:26
Speaker 4: do I got this weekend? Uh got the division round?
• 36:29
Speaker 4: So we got Texans versus the Chiefs. We got Commanders
• 36:32
Speaker 4: versus the Lions, Rams versus Eagles, and the Ravens versus Bill.
• 36:36
Speaker 2: So start with Texans versus Chiefs. Who you got?
• 36:39
Speaker 5: Oh? I think the Chiefs.
• 36:40
Speaker 2: I got the Chiefs? Do I really going? Patrick Mahone,
• 36:46
Speaker 2: I'm gonna you gotta go with the.
• 36:47
Speaker 4: Chiefs, all right, Commanders versus Lions.
• 36:52
  Speaker 5: That's that's a tough one.
• 36:54
Speaker 4: That might be the best game that that anybody can
• 36:57
  Speaker 4: watch this weekend.
• 36:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Daniel's special quarterback.
• 37:01
Speaker 4: But I love the Lions coach and all kind of
• 37:03
Speaker 4: love the program that they're building out there.
• 37:07
Speaker 2: I watched the ESPN segment of for the Lions. It's great.
• 37:13
Speaker 2: Yeah they got Yeah.
• 37:16
Speaker 4: If I had to say, who do I, I'll just
• 37:18
Speaker 4: make it easy. I'm looking for Detroit to win the
• 37:21
Speaker 4: super Bowl. Okay, really I want I like this game.
• 37:26
Speaker 4: I want Detroit to win the super Bowl. Okay, so
• 37:28
  Speaker 4: what about Rams.
• 37:29
  Speaker 5: Eagles, Eagles They're they're just so good. They're good. That's
• 37:33
Speaker 5: who I think will win this.
• 37:34
Speaker 4: Here's the best game. I mean, this is what I
• 37:36
Speaker 4: would like to see in the super Bowl. This is
• 37:39
Speaker 4: the I think the Super Bowl game. This will be
• 37:41
Speaker 4: probably one of the most competitive games. Rams versus Bills.
• 37:45
Speaker 4: Excuse me, Ravens versus Bills. Mmm, you've got you kick
• 37:50
  Speaker 4: my Lions out?
• 37:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 37:52
Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm saying this is the this is
• 37:55
  Speaker 4: the original Eagles.
• 37:57
  Speaker 2: Play the Rams.
• 37:58
Speaker 5: You think will beat the Eagles?
• 37:59
Speaker 2: No, no, no, I misspoke.
• 38:01
Speaker 4: Rams versus Eagles and on Sunday and then Ravens versus.
• 38:05
  Speaker 2: Bill on Sunday.
• 38:05
  Speaker 5: Okay, okay, so.
• 38:07
Speaker 2: I'm saying Ravens versus Bills. Who you got? I think
• 38:10
Speaker 2: that's the best game.
• 38:11
  Speaker 5: I don't I like Mafia Nation, but I think I
• 38:14
  Speaker 5: think that you.
• 38:15
Speaker 2: Know, now it's in Buffalo.
• 38:17
Speaker 5: I'm gonna go if it's Yeah.
• 38:21
Speaker 4: Now, we also got the college football player the championship
• 38:24
Speaker 4: coming up, So we got Ohio State v.
• 38:27
Speaker 2: Notre Dame. So what a what a what a historic
• 38:32
Speaker 2: history match of it?
• 38:33
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying Like that that matchup is
• 38:37
Speaker 4: like I can almost make the case like I don't
• 38:39
Speaker 4: even really care who wins. It's just the fact that
• 38:43
Speaker 4: I can remember growing up as a kid and hearing
• 38:46
Speaker 4: those two teams playing each other, and it was that
• 38:48
  Speaker 4: was something special.
• 38:49
Speaker 2: And I'm so glad the SEC is out of it.
• 38:53
Speaker 2: So it's just no SEC.
• 38:55
Speaker 5: They are heartbroken in the South.
• 38:57
Speaker 2: I'm good for him too. If I have to.
• 39:01
Speaker 4: If I'm gonna have to pick one, though, I'm gonna
• 39:03
Speaker 4: I'm going to probably go oh State.
• 39:06
  Speaker 5: Yeah me too.
• 39:07
Speaker 2: I think they're just going to.
• 39:08
Speaker 4: Come down to his quarterback play right, And I don't
• 39:10
Speaker 4: think it's going to come down to like necessarily the
• 39:13
Speaker 4: quarterback who plays the best. It's going to be the
• 39:15
Speaker 4: one who makes the least amount of mistakes and could
• 39:17
Speaker 4: just make a player too, because both of these defense,
• 39:20
Speaker 4: I mean Washington games, these defense are crazy and I
• 39:24
Speaker 4: think they get equal.
• 39:25
  Speaker 5: About scoring game.
• 39:26
  Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be a lower scoring game. I
• 39:28
Speaker 4: would say sub twenty one twenty two.
• 39:31
  Speaker 2: For each team.
• 39:32
Speaker 4: And to your point about the defense, this is this,
• 39:35
Speaker 4: this is the type of These are the type of
• 39:38
Speaker 4: defenses who get to the ball right right, and and
• 39:43
Speaker 4: so you you know, you can shake one one tackler
• 39:46
Speaker 4: and by the time you square back up, there's somebody
• 39:49
Speaker 4: else's you know, there are one hundred and ten trying
• 39:53
Speaker 4: to get to the ball. Carry when you have that
• 39:56
Speaker 4: type of play man that it was fast, Yeah, yeah,
• 40:02
Speaker 4: that's it again. I just think it's gonna come down
• 40:05
Speaker 4: to the quarterback. I would love to see just kind
• 40:08
Speaker 4: of speaking of an old school I would love to
• 40:10
Speaker 4: see this game played on grass natural, I mean, just
• 40:15
Speaker 4: to have the grass things on it, just like I
• 40:17
Speaker 4: think that would just like cement it.
• 40:19
Speaker 6: Let me let me ask you guys, because I have
• 40:21
Speaker 6: failed to find this information, but what bowl is the
• 40:24
  Speaker 6: championship game?
• 40:25
Speaker 5: Which one is it? Where are they playing at?
• 40:27
Speaker 2: I thought it was Let me look, I thought it
• 40:28
  Speaker 2: was a toss.
• 40:30
Speaker 5: Is it would be in Arizona?
• 40:33
  Speaker 2: I believe so.
• 40:35
  Speaker 5: Let me so.
• 40:38
Speaker 6: For both teams that that's quite a distance for both
• 40:41
Speaker 6: teams to travel, then right.
• 40:42
Speaker 2: They probably I'm gonna assume.
• 40:43
Speaker 5: I mean, I was just wondering which fan base would
• 40:45
  Speaker 5: show up.
• 40:46
Speaker 6: But you know that they both have such a following
• 40:49
Speaker 6: it doesn't matter where they play.
• 40:50
Speaker 4: They could figure that no matter where they I don't
• 40:54
Speaker 4: think it's a name Bowl. It's like the college Football
• 40:57
Speaker 4: Championship presented by AT and t SO Fiesta. We were
• 41:00
Speaker 4: thinking the old school. Yeah, trying to think is it
• 41:03
Speaker 4: played in Jerry's world? Oh, trying to think where it's
• 41:07
  Speaker 4: played at.
• 41:08
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 41:09
Speaker 6: Oh well, but I just I was curious about location
• 41:13
Speaker 6: of it, according to you know where the fans, but
• 41:15
Speaker 6: you know, Ohio State and Notre Dame, they're not too
• 41:17
  Speaker 6: really far apart.
• 41:18
Speaker 2: I mean it checked this out.
• 41:20
Speaker 4: I think it's in New Orleans. It's the Mercedes ben Stadium,
• 41:23
Speaker 4: New Orleans. Oh okay, and it looks it says tickets
• 41:26
Speaker 4: is low as one dollars.
• 41:30
Speaker 2: Tickets as low as that.
• 41:31
  Speaker 5: I'll take two.
• 41:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, I can bring the whole family.
• 41:34
Speaker 4: Yeah no, no, I'm sorry, not not New Orleans, but
• 41:38
Speaker 4: in Mercedes Been Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
• 41:41
Speaker 2: Sorry about that. We've been all over there across Yeah,
• 41:45
Speaker 2: we got it right file.
• 41:46
Speaker 5: So it's in Georgia.
• 41:47
Speaker 6: Well, that's even more salt on the wound for the
• 41:50
Speaker 6: SEC knowing it's in their territory, you know, and.
• 41:53
Speaker 2: See, that's the kind of game in Georgia.
• 41:55
Speaker 4: Is the kind of place that folks will travel to
• 41:57
Speaker 4: that oh sure centralized.
• 41:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, easy easy, white, easy drive. I can see.
• 42:05
Speaker 4: I can see that being, you know, a packed house
• 42:08
Speaker 4: with actual true fans, not like that. But I think
• 42:15
  Speaker 4: that that's gonna be that'll be a it's gonna it's
• 42:18
Speaker 4: gonna be a great game though, But I don't know.
• 42:21
Speaker 2: It takes you back though, back.
• 42:23
Speaker 4: When those types of teams always were like the top teams,
• 42:28
Speaker 4: you know, and playing in the style of play as
• 42:31
Speaker 4: we mentioned where it's sort of defensive leg we don't
• 42:34
Speaker 4: have like the quarterbacks who necessarily I think, just take
• 42:37
Speaker 4: it over in all aspects.
• 42:39
Speaker 2: So it's gonna be a team effort offensively. So I
• 42:43
Speaker 2: think it's gonna be a fun game to watch, you know.
• 42:47
  Speaker 4: I think it's gonna I think it's gonna I think
• 42:49
Speaker 4: it's gonna be for me as a as a defensive
• 42:54
Speaker 4: kind of guy. I'm looking at the contact and all
• 42:56
Speaker 4: that kind of stuff. I think I think both of
• 42:58
Speaker 4: these teams defenses are absolutely amazing and they're just fast.
• 43:03
Speaker 4: They're getting everywhere and it'll be interesting to me to
• 43:06
Speaker 4: see who's I actually will outplay who And I think
• 43:09
Speaker 4: special teams could be end up being big where offense.
• 43:12
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, the scoring is gonna be at a premium,
• 43:14
Speaker 4: so we may even look for the defense to score,
• 43:15
Speaker 4: special teams to score. And like I said, we just
• 43:18
Speaker 4: got to have the quarterback. Whoever's going to make the
• 43:20
Speaker 4: least of minor state mistakes, I think it's gonna end
• 43:22
Speaker 4: up winning that game.
• 43:22
  Speaker 8: There you go.
• 43:23
  Speaker 2: I think that's say Ohio State. I don't know. I
• 43:25
Speaker 2: don't know how to do the betting. I guess the minuses.
• 43:28
Speaker 2: Is that the one the favorite. I don't think.
• 43:33
Speaker 5: You can call ESPN. They have their own n app
• 43:37
Speaker 5: or whatever for forgam.
• 43:38
Speaker 2: I think Ohio's yeah states favorite.
• 43:41
Speaker 5: Oh wow, yeah, I wanted to get your thoughts on this.
• 43:44
  Speaker 2: Guys.
• 43:45
Speaker 6: We'll go back to the NFL if you don't mind
• 43:46
Speaker 6: for just a minute. But when I said that the
• 43:49
Speaker 6: wild card games weren't wild this year, did you notice
• 43:52
Speaker 6: there was only like usually you have maybe two, like
• 43:56
Speaker 6: there's six. There were six wildcard games and usually out
• 43:59
Speaker 6: of the six there's two three.
• 44:00
Speaker 5: I mean upsets. There was only one this year, and
• 44:03
Speaker 5: that was that the Commanders.
• 44:05
Speaker 6: Who kicked that ugly field goal that did the doint
• 44:08
Speaker 6: point and went through and that's how they won the game.
• 44:11
Speaker 6: But did you notice the other games were they were
• 44:13
  Speaker 6: blowouts pretty much?
• 44:14
  Speaker 5: I mean, they weren't close.
• 44:15
Speaker 4: And I don't even know if we would constitute that
• 44:17
Speaker 4: as an upset, no, because I mean the Commanders they
• 44:20
Speaker 4: were twelve and five.
• 44:21
Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean they were playing at the Buccaneers. Yeah,
• 44:24
Speaker 5: so that's and I all the home teams won. Put
• 44:29
  Speaker 5: it that way.
• 44:29
Speaker 2: I've yet to try to I have yet to figure
• 44:31
Speaker 2: this this this question out.
• 44:33
Speaker 4: I don't know if either one of you all can
• 44:35
Speaker 4: answer it, or if somebody knows the answer to it,
• 44:38
Speaker 4: please hit me up on Facebook.
• 44:41
Speaker 2: Let's talk with Carl Lee or Carl Lee. All right, So.
• 44:46
Speaker 4: When the Vikings lost, like why did they drop in
• 44:53
Speaker 4: the in the rankings of the playoffs?
• 44:55
Speaker 2: How did that happen?
• 44:56
Speaker 4: Like what was the how was that system set up
• 44:58
Speaker 4: to where they would drop they significantly?
• 45:01
  Speaker 2: Significantly?
• 45:02
Speaker 4: Like like you're like to your point, which you mean
• 45:04
Speaker 4: when they lost in the regular season, yes, yeah, and
• 45:07
Speaker 4: then they at the end of the season, they lose
• 45:10
  Speaker 4: and then they.
• 45:10
Speaker 5: Didn't they lose The Lions lost the Lions. Well, that's
• 45:13
  Speaker 5: probably why.
• 45:14
Speaker 2: Who wanted to did the Lions?
• 45:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, they want a division So maybe that's why they
• 45:19
Speaker 4: were a wildcard team instead of a division winner because
• 45:23
  Speaker 4: and I didn't I didn't look at it that simple
• 45:26
Speaker 4: because I was like thinking, well, wait a minute, how
• 45:29
Speaker 4: how are they not like you have a buy or something.
• 45:32
  Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's.
• 45:33
Speaker 5: Why each division winner gets a buy.
• 45:35
Speaker 2: Correct. Yes, did they lose the Alliance twice? I think so, Yes,
• 45:41
Speaker 2: I think they did. Then that's it. That's why, because
• 45:43
Speaker 2: they go by your division record, not your overall record.
• 45:47
Speaker 6: And that's why there was such a commotion about the
• 45:49
Speaker 6: NFC North and all the teams were so you know,
• 45:53
Speaker 6: they were they were winning, they were beating teams outside
• 45:55
Speaker 6: of their division there for a little beating each other
• 45:58
Speaker 6: up and beating each other up.
• 45:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, because I remember years ago there was a like
• 46:02
Speaker 4: I remember the Patriots were like eleven in at the time,
• 46:05
Speaker 4: with like eleven and five, and they didn't make the
• 46:07
Speaker 4: playoffs because they had some bad.
• 46:10
Speaker 2: Would you like that? Would you like to see that
• 46:12
Speaker 2: change to where it's best records.
• 46:18
Speaker 4: Division even the best record overall, just the best record
• 46:22
Speaker 4: to the top. You just go from the best team
• 46:26
Speaker 4: that's got the best record and you drop down until
• 46:29
  Speaker 4: you get.
• 46:30
Speaker 5: To regardless of whether you won your division.
• 46:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's just it's just because sometimes.
• 46:34
Speaker 5: The divisions are weak, like a lot of times.
• 46:37
Speaker 6: And you remember this historically when the Patriots were in
• 46:40
Speaker 6: their division, they didn't have a real tough road to
• 46:42
  Speaker 6: the super Bowl.
• 46:43
Speaker 4: That's a fact. In the NFC South, it can be tough,
• 46:46
  Speaker 4: but bad. Yes, exactly exactly. I would that's a that's
• 46:51
Speaker 4: actually an interesting point because I want the best teams.
• 46:56
Speaker 4: But I like the idea of like you having to
• 46:59
Speaker 4: go through that gauntlant that is your conference. And I'm
• 47:01
Speaker 4: just thinking, like, again, we all know there's good and
• 47:03
Speaker 4: bad teams in the NFL, but it's still the NFL, right,
• 47:06
Speaker 4: So I like the idea that you know, you have
• 47:09
Speaker 4: to win your conference. You know, again there are okay
• 47:12
Speaker 4: with the team. Okay, so let's say that that the
• 47:15
Speaker 4: team the number one team in the conference, they're they're
• 47:18
Speaker 4: automatically in, and then after that best records.
• 47:21
Speaker 2: I mean, that's kind of how it works.
• 47:24
  Speaker 5: I don't know, I really don't. I need to do
• 47:26
  Speaker 5: some research.
• 47:26
Speaker 6: I don't understand how it works, Like it seems like
• 47:29
Speaker 6: there were some teams that had better records than others
• 47:32
Speaker 6: that made the wild card.
• 47:34
Speaker 5: I mean that, you know what I mean left the
• 47:36
Speaker 5: wild card. I don't know how it works.
• 47:39
Speaker 4: I think that's pretty much how it works. Like you
• 47:41
Speaker 4: go division winners like division, and then you know there's
• 47:48
  Speaker 4: because the Vikings.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: I feel like the Vikings should have been in a
• 47:51
Speaker 2: different situation than what what they were.
• 47:54
Speaker 4: They were wild card, yeah, they were with what to
• 48:00
Speaker 4: and no again the Vikings were again yeah they were
• 48:04
Speaker 4: fourteen and three. They had three losses in the division.
• 48:07
Speaker 4: Excuse me, two losses in the division. And Detroit was
• 48:10
Speaker 4: six and zero in the division. So again you had
• 48:13
Speaker 4: two losses in the division. Hence why although you had
• 48:17
Speaker 4: a pretty good overall record, you know, stood down because
• 48:21
Speaker 4: again y'all had at the NFC North, you had three
• 48:23
Speaker 4: teams to make the playoffs, so you had Detroit, Minnesota,
• 48:26
  Speaker 4: and Green Bay.
• 48:27
Speaker 2: So it is it is so it is best worker.
• 48:29
Speaker 4: But I think, like to your point, like you know,
• 48:32
Speaker 4: for example, like Tampa Bay was ten and seven, Seattle
• 48:35
Speaker 4: was ten and seven, Seattle didn't make the playoffs, So
• 48:38
Speaker 4: I think it would maybe situations like that.
• 48:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, how do.
• 48:41
Speaker 4: You determine that with teams are different conferences and the
• 48:44
Speaker 4: Seattle they both had the same division record, but Tampa
• 48:49
Speaker 4: Bay won their division in Seattle didn't.
• 48:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
• 48:54
Speaker 4: So and well see Tampa Bay had a better conference record.
• 48:58
Speaker 4: So I think you do all these things to sort
• 49:00
Speaker 4: of break tiebreakers, I guess, and I should of all
• 49:05
Speaker 4: the folks should know, it should be me, and I
• 49:07
Speaker 4: have no clue. Okay at this point, so at least,
• 49:12
Speaker 4: I mean, I hate, I hate to bring up the
• 49:13
  Speaker 4: Packers since then.
• 49:15
Speaker 5: I knew you would.
• 49:17
Speaker 2: I hate to bring up the Packers. But what what
• 49:20
Speaker 2: what's going on there? What do you think is going
• 49:22
  Speaker 2: to happen there?
• 49:23
Speaker 6: I mean, I just think with Jordan Love, first of all,
• 49:26
Speaker 6: he's young. That they're the youngest team in the NFL.
• 49:29
Speaker 6: We know that the Packers are the youngest youngest players.
• 49:31
Speaker 6: They they've got some lessons, some hard lessons to learn
• 49:34
Speaker 6: before they're ready to to win playoff games. But I
• 49:37
Speaker 6: really feel like Jordan Love's play after he'd gotten hurt
• 49:40
Speaker 6: early in the season. I just don't think he ever
• 49:42
Speaker 6: fully recovered from you know that that injury.
• 49:46
  Speaker 5: I'm not certain.
• 49:47
Speaker 6: I think it was maybe a groin injury or maybe
• 49:49
Speaker 6: a leg I'm not sure, but I really feel like
• 49:51
Speaker 6: after that he was touch and go, like you think
• 49:54
Speaker 6: he was getting healed, and then he would reaggravate it
• 49:57
Speaker 6: and then the next game he wouldn't look the same.
• 49:59
Speaker 6: He would be throwing in and just not the play
• 50:02
Speaker 6: that that we expected of him. And it seemed like
• 50:05
Speaker 6: this year, you know, in the past, because you remember
• 50:07
Speaker 6: what they did to the Cowboys last year during the
• 50:09
  Speaker 6: wildcard game.
• 50:09
Speaker 5: That was that was something.
• 50:11
  Speaker 6: I mean I heard about it a lot, but I
• 50:14
Speaker 6: just feel like from that point on, they suffered a
• 50:17
Speaker 6: lot of injuries, not just to Love, but then they
• 50:19
  Speaker 6: lost like Watson.
• 50:21
Speaker 5: I think they lost him.
• 50:24
Speaker 6: And he was out for the season with a torn
• 50:25
Speaker 6: a c L so that they they had some some
• 50:28
Speaker 6: key player injuries that that played a part of it.
• 50:31
Speaker 2: Where do you all go, What are you thinking? If
• 50:33
Speaker 2: you know, what are you thinking about draft wise?
• 50:36
  Speaker 8: Like?
• 50:37
Speaker 2: What what is there anything?
• 50:40
  Speaker 6: I mean, I like Josh Jacobs, I think he's a
• 50:42
Speaker 6: great running back. I really feel like we need some receivers.
• 50:45
Speaker 6: I mean, it just seemed like once we to you know,
• 50:48
Speaker 6: there are two receivers really were out and hurt. After that,
• 50:52
Speaker 6: we didn't have anybody to they could put onto the
• 50:53
Speaker 6: ball or throw, you know, throw to, So receivers would
• 50:56
Speaker 6: be my focus. Offensive line they're average, think they're okay.
• 51:00
Speaker 6: I think with when Jordan gets healthy, he he'll be okay.
• 51:04
Speaker 2: With that, I think.
• 51:06
Speaker 4: I think for the Bikings, I think the Bikings they
• 51:09
Speaker 4: need they need offensive line. Yeah, to your to your point, Hollis,
• 51:16
Speaker 4: I think they need some guys who can come in
• 51:18
Speaker 4: and go after a job. Now, even though they'd be inexperienced,
• 51:23
Speaker 4: they'll learn it, they'll get it. But I think I think,
• 51:27
Speaker 4: which I know they're not going to do. They're not
• 51:29
Speaker 4: going to get a draft quarterback. They're not going to
• 51:32
Speaker 4: draft quarterback that's going to be out. But they've got
• 51:34
Speaker 4: to find a quarterback.
• 51:36
  Speaker 2: I think that.
• 51:40
Speaker 4: That's used to being in that situation. That's used to
• 51:44
Speaker 4: being in that situation some kind of way.
• 51:46
Speaker 2: I'm not talking about. I'm just saying, took.
• 51:49
Speaker 5: Brett Farv and so you might as well take Aaron Russ.
• 51:53
  Speaker 2: I hope not.
• 51:54
Speaker 5: I hope, but I think he'll be back. Do you
• 51:58
  Speaker 5: guys think he'll I think he'll. I don't think he will.
• 52:02
Speaker 2: I hope go out like that. Maybe right, but I'm
• 52:05
Speaker 2: just curious to where you go. Yeah, I don't know.
• 52:08
Speaker 5: Somebody will pick him up.
• 52:09
  Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not sure that I don't nobody.
• 52:12
Speaker 2: These guys don't follow.
• 52:14
Speaker 4: Like again, if you're if you're an older quarterback, follow
• 52:16
Speaker 4: what Brett far, follow what Tom Brady did.
• 52:18
Speaker 2: Go somewhere hot, Go somewhere with a stadium.
• 52:21
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I mean, because I mean you're older,
• 52:23
Speaker 4: Like you said, you don't want to be out in
• 52:24
Speaker 4: New York and in that weather December, and yeah you're not,
• 52:28
Speaker 4: and you're plus years old.
• 52:30
Speaker 2: And the fact that you don't think about that, you know,
• 52:33
Speaker 2: like it's kind of ego too.
• 52:35
Speaker 4: The couple a couple of different teams to when out
• 52:39
Speaker 4: when the Vikings cut had a couple of different teams to.
• 52:42
Speaker 2: To go to New Orleans was an easy fit. You know,
• 52:46
Speaker 2: it was an easy stadium.
• 52:48
Speaker 4: And you're gonna play ten games in the stadium because
• 52:51
Speaker 4: you're playing Atlanta twice, you know what I mean, So
• 52:54
Speaker 4: it may at least nine I'll say it made it
• 52:56
Speaker 4: made sense to me to to go there. Said at
• 53:00
Speaker 4: that point in time in my career, I was not
• 53:02
Speaker 4: interested in because they playing. But you got nine games,
• 53:06
Speaker 4: it's going to be in perfect weather. Do you play
• 53:08
Speaker 4: Tampa Bay? Do you got your Panthers? You had the Vikings,
• 53:13
Speaker 4: we had, we played the Vikes vision.
• 53:16
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 53:17
Speaker 4: Overall, so you're guarantee to play like twelve games in
• 53:20
Speaker 4: probably pretty good weather.
• 53:23
Speaker 2: If I'm a quarterback, I'm forty plus. Yeah, send me
• 53:25
Speaker 2: to Arizona for sure? Do we do we?
• 53:30
  Speaker 4: So?
• 53:30
  Speaker 1: Do we know?
• 53:32
  Speaker 3: Do we know?
• 53:33
Speaker 2: Who? Who is? I think who is the quarterback?
• 53:38
Speaker 4: And I don't know who is the quarterback that you
• 53:42
Speaker 4: think is going to be the first quarterback in the
• 53:44
  Speaker 4: draft possibly.
• 53:45
Speaker 2: Or or is even good?
• 53:46
Speaker 4: And let's say who and I won't even say the
• 53:48
Speaker 4: first draft? Who do you what quarterback do you think
• 53:51
Speaker 4: first off the board? Has not even first off the board?
• 53:54
Speaker 4: Who's going to be the best? Who do you think
• 53:56
Speaker 4: will show out first? I think it's it again, aviat
• 54:00
Speaker 4: is always depends on where you go with organization. True,
• 54:03
Speaker 4: But I think the one that I've seen, I like
• 54:05
Speaker 4: cam Ward from Miami, but I love Shador Sanders, and
• 54:08
Speaker 4: I love because he's his ability to throw in the pocket,
• 54:11
Speaker 4: his ability to throw under adversity accurately. I mean, you're
• 54:15
Speaker 4: talking about a pinpoint laser can just pit it where.
• 54:20
Speaker 2: It needs to go. And I'm hoping that you're gonna say,
• 54:23
Speaker 2: and he can run a little bit too.
• 54:24
Speaker 4: He has the ability to get you those first and
• 54:27
Speaker 4: second downs and third down conversions that you need. So
• 54:30
Speaker 4: I think he's going to be really good.
• 54:32
Speaker 6: So this just crossed my mind, this thought. Do you
• 54:34
Speaker 6: think maybe the Cowboys would make a play and say,
• 54:38
Speaker 6: we'll bring Shadar here and he can start if Daddy,
• 54:41
Speaker 6: if prom comes with him.
• 54:43
Speaker 2: I hope the coach.
• 54:44
Speaker 5: Oh no, you were the big You were the big
• 54:46
Speaker 5: proponent of that, weren't you about the No.
• 54:49
Speaker 4: I mean we talked about like bron and stuff. It
• 54:51
Speaker 4: was cool, But I mean you coasted him in high school,
• 54:53
Speaker 4: you coasted him in college twice.
• 54:58
Speaker 2: Do you think that could happen? Thinking it very well,
• 55:02
  Speaker 2: But I don't.
• 55:03
  Speaker 1: I don't.
• 55:03
Speaker 2: I think you said that he's staying, which is kind
• 55:07
Speaker 2: of shocking to me. But I do think he he
• 55:13
Speaker 2: is the He is the epitome of the quarterback that
• 55:18
Speaker 2: you're looking for, that anybody's looking for. Now. The problem
• 55:22
Speaker 2: with that, I think is the potential of what does
• 55:26
Speaker 2: Dion play in it?
• 55:29
Speaker 4: I think some I think I mean because to me,
• 55:31
Speaker 4: I'd be like, Okay, I don't mind him around because I.
• 55:35
Speaker 8: Know I know this.
• 55:36
Speaker 2: He can work with my dbs. You know he can,
• 55:38
Speaker 2: he can talk to us a little bit.
• 55:40
Speaker 4: If I'm just saying, if he was to get involved,
• 55:43
Speaker 4: I don't know how bad, how bothered I.
• 55:45
Speaker 2: Would be with that. I think Schador at this point
• 55:49
Speaker 2: in his life, he was gonna go ahead.
• 55:50
Speaker 4: He probably wants to go his own way to some
• 55:52
Speaker 4: degree because I think I think he has major I
• 55:57
Speaker 4: think he has major star potential, particularly if he go
• 55:59
Speaker 4: to New York Giants. Sorg had Senders on his own
• 56:03
Speaker 4: outside of the shadow of his dad, has a major
• 56:06
Speaker 4: star potential, right, he has the look, he has the cachet.
• 56:10
Speaker 4: He can actually play right, unlike some other you know, legacies.
• 56:14
Speaker 4: He can actually ball right.
• 56:16
Speaker 5: Do you think the Cowboys would make a play to
• 56:18
  Speaker 5: trade I think.
• 56:20
  Speaker 2: I don't think.
• 56:22
Speaker 4: I don't think you paid Dak all that money. I
• 56:25
Speaker 4: think you got some pieces you can work with. And
• 56:27
Speaker 4: if I'm Dion, that's not an upgrade. It's not an
• 56:31
Speaker 4: upgrade going from Voter to Dallas per se other than cachet.
• 56:35
Speaker 4: But I think that to me, Dion, again, I don't
• 56:38
Speaker 4: know the man ever met him. He seems like a
• 56:40
Speaker 4: little bit of a control freak, like he wants to
• 56:42
Speaker 4: be controlling things. He had a post today that said,
• 56:45
Speaker 4: if you don't go to clash, it's gonna fetch your
• 56:47
Speaker 4: nil check. That's a guy who wants to be in
• 56:50
Speaker 4: control and head of his finger on the button. And
• 56:53
Speaker 4: you ain't gonna have that in the NFL, particularly under
• 56:56
  Speaker 4: j Jones. So I don't think it's a pilly And
• 56:59
Speaker 4: I'm worrying for him well, And I wonder as a
• 57:02
Speaker 4: as a former player. If I'm an active player and
• 57:07
Speaker 4: I'm hearing this from what I'm gonna still consider a
• 57:10
Speaker 4: former player, right, even though he's the head coach or whatever,
• 57:14
  Speaker 4: I still that's that's still be on.
• 57:16
Speaker 2: You know, and and he played there and you know, yeah,
• 57:19
Speaker 2: So I think that there could be some issues in.
• 57:26
Speaker 4: Player coach conversation like how how is that conversation? Like
• 57:31
Speaker 4: you can't come with me, like any kind of way,
• 57:33
Speaker 4: Like you ain't gonna come with me, That's.
• 57:35
  Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
• 57:36
Speaker 4: And I think he has he can do that with
• 57:37
Speaker 4: the kids. Yes, I don't know if he can pull
• 57:39
Speaker 4: that off with yeah, because they're gonna they're gonna look
• 57:44
Speaker 4: at him as as Dion. First, it's gonna be hard
• 57:48
Speaker 4: for them to especially the veteran players. Maybe some of
• 57:51
Speaker 4: the younger players are like, man, it's on, you know,
• 57:53
Speaker 4: and you're going from Boulder where you running the whole show?
• 57:57
Speaker 4: That's the whole show, right, Yeah, it ain't no doubt
• 57:59
  Speaker 4: about it.
• 57:59
Speaker 2: Who run that show?
• 58:01
  Speaker 3: Now?
• 58:01
Speaker 4: You gotta go to if you went to Dallas, that's
• 58:04
Speaker 4: Jerry's world. Jerry run that show. And I don't know
• 58:07
Speaker 4: if that's appealing to a guy like Dion.
• 58:09
Speaker 2: I think that the relationship between them two, I think
• 58:12
Speaker 2: it works. He's still I think it worked. That's too
• 58:14
Speaker 2: ego maniacs you till you're still Jerry Jones. But you're
• 58:18
Speaker 2: still And I run the team. Yes, I trust you
• 58:20
Speaker 2: to run the team. That's what your mouth.
• 58:22
Speaker 5: Saying, and that's what your mouth save what Jerry James needs.
• 58:27
Speaker 2: Percent right, But that's what his mouth saying. But he
• 58:29
Speaker 2: ain't gonna do that till that man is gone.
• 58:33
Speaker 4: He's gonna run that organization, whether it's good, bad, ugly.
• 58:37
Speaker 4: He ain't no giving that up.
• 58:39
Speaker 2: And it don't matter.
• 58:41
