- 2:53On Saturday, the Chicago Bears made an epic comeback to win an
- 2:57instant classic in overtime, beating the Green Bay Packers 22
- 3:01to 16, the Bears trailing 16 to 6 with just over 5 minutes
- 3:07remaining when they were able to get a field goal making it in it
- 3:13A1 score game. Then they recovered only the 5th
- 3:18on sidekick all season, giving Caleb Williams a chance, who
- 3:22delivered in a clutch in in the clutch with a touchdown to
- 3:26rookie wide receiver J Day Walker, who I didn't even know
- 3:31they had on the team with only 24 seconds left.
- 3:34And by the way, he was doing a dance at the end, I don't know
- 3:36why he's making himself look like a complete idiot.
- 3:39With Malik Willis in for the concussed Jordan Love in what
- 3:45was an extremely physical game, the Bears took over on downs and
- 3:49overtime before Caleb Williams threw an absolute dime dart to
- 3:55DJ Moore 46 yards to win the game in a walk off fashion.
- 4:01Boy the way, boy oh boy that I. I believe that changed
- 4:05everybody's outlook to Kayla Williams.
- 4:07By the way, it was just the seventh win for the Bears
- 4:11against the Packers since 2008 and was the first time since
- 4:151960 the Bears came back down by 10 or more in the fourth quarter
- 4:21to beat the Pack. The Bears now clinched the NFC
- 4:25North with a win next week on the road versus the 49ers or the
- 4:30Packers lose at home versus the Ravens.
- 4:35Well, I got to give a shout out to Ben Johnson, man, I can't
- 4:41really say anything bad about this guy.
- 4:44A lot of people over the last couple of years were wondering
- 4:48why the Detroit Lions offense was so very good.
- 4:52The schemes, the way the trick plays that he put out there,
- 4:56having the wide receiver throw the ball to the quarterback and
- 4:59then the quarterback throw, you know, throw a hitch pass to the
- 5:03the tight end that threw touchdowns to the running back.
- 5:06I mean, we saw so many things with Ben Johnson.
- 5:09It would just completely shake. You'd completely shake your head
- 5:13if you were a defensive coordinator.
- 5:16And this year, it took a little while, but eventually Caleb
- 5:20Williams figured it out. And now the imagination of what
- 5:27Caleb Williams could be in the future, not only as elite, but
- 5:33could be the best quarterback in the NFL in the future.
- 5:37Ben Johnson knew by taking this job, he knew that he had a
- 5:43quarterback in place that he could win with.
- 5:47He had to figure out and shut him up offset of some of the
- 5:52things that he said to the media or not showing up to film day or
- 5:56film room day, which we've heard early in the season that Caleb
- 5:59Williams thought he didn't need to go and watch film.
- 6:02He didn't really need to interact with the other
- 6:05quarterbacks in the room, which was absolutely appalling if I
- 6:09was a quarterback and I was trying to watch film with the
- 6:12coaches, the quarterback coach and the offensive coordinator.
- 6:16But I think Caleb Williams understands now what it takes to
- 6:20win because it takes a team to get over the hump.
- 6:26And I think what really to me changed everything in the
- 6:31offseason for the Bears was the fact that after they got their
- 6:35coach in place, they restructured that offensive
- 6:37line. They added veteran offensive
- 6:41lineman to help out, something that Caleb Williams did not
- 6:45have. Whatever Flew's there on an
- 6:48offensive line with veterans and leadership that can actually
- 6:52help move, maneuver audibles, call things at the line of
- 6:57scrimmage that maybe Caleb Williams does not see against
- 7:00the defense. And you could see that with the
- 7:03offensive line. You could see that with the
- 7:05center play. You could see that with the
- 7:07tackle play. This is a completely different
- 7:09team than they were last year. And with Swift, the addition of
- 7:13Swift and how do you pronounce his name?
- 7:17Manangai and the rookie who's running the ball like he's just
- 7:21playing Smash. This is the best Smash Mouth
- 7:25football I've seen since I I would say when they went to the
- 7:28Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. It's been a long time and.
- 7:33Juts legend Thomas Jones. I remember it's been a long,
- 7:36long time that I could say and I could bring up the the way
- 7:41they're running and the way they're playing this type of
- 7:44football that I expected the Chicago Bears to be playing for
- 7:50all these years. And, and they're always and
- 7:53they've always been known as a Smash Mouth team.
- 7:56Great running game, great defense, not really great
- 8:00quarterback play. And Caleb Williams could change
- 8:04that outlook, and that's why they brought Ben Johnson.
- 8:08And that's why I believe Chicago brought Ben Johnson in, because
- 8:11if anybody can fix Kayla Williams and get him to believe
- 8:15that he could play in this game at a top level, it's Ben
- 8:18Johnson. He did it with Jared Goff.
- 8:21It didn't work. Jared Goff could not figure
- 8:25things out with Sean McVeigh. Sean McVeigh, Everybody thinks
- 8:29the quarterback whisperer, the one of the great offensive minds
- 8:32in the NFL, Sean McVay couldn't figure out Jared Goff, but Ben
- 8:39Johnson did. Dan Campbell did, and you could
- 8:43see the difference in Jared Goff's game.
- 8:45He is a different quarterback over the last three to four
- 8:49years because of Ben Johnson. And let me tell you something,
- 8:53Caleb Williams, he has more weapons than Jared Goff does.
- 8:58They were burped. They were both #1 picks in the
- 9:01first round, both of them, Jared Goff coming from Cal, Caleb
- 9:05Williams coming from USC, both California teams.
- 9:11And a lot of people were questioning Caleb Williams
- 9:14because of his crybaby antics on the football field in College,
- 9:19in his final year as a starting quarterback over there at USC
- 9:24and questioning Lincoln Riley, the way he babied him coming
- 9:28from Oklahoma and then going to USC.
- 9:32And it took a little while for Caleb Williams to realize that
- 9:36his ability to escape problems in the open field is what's
- 9:40going to make this kid that Aaron Rodgers type of
- 9:44quarterback. And I've told everybody what I
- 9:47thought about Caleb Williams. If there's somebody I compare
- 9:50Caleb Williams to, it's no other than Aaron Rodgers.
- 9:55He doesn't have like Aaron Rodgers wasn't lightning fast.
- 9:59I mean, he wasn't one of those quarterbacks.
- 10:01Oh my God, this guy's a speed demon.
- 10:03And he could throw, but he he was like a snake.
- 10:06He could slide in and slide out, make plays with his legs that
- 10:10you wouldn't think that he could and then escape situations that
- 10:16a lot of quarterbacks couldn't because he was like a snake.
- 10:19That's Caleb Williams, guys. It's exactly the way Caleb
- 10:23Williams plays. Now, I don't know if he has the
- 10:25arm strength of Aaron Rodgers. He's got a great arm, but I
- 10:28don't know if he has the arm strength of Aaron Rodgers.
- 10:30So I think has the best arm I've ever seen in NFL history.
- 10:35But he has the ability to do the things that Aaron Rodgers could
- 10:38do in the open field. And think about it, what a
- 10:41coincidence that the arch nemesis of the Chicago Bears is
- 10:46the Green Bay Packers. And who drafted Aaron Rodgers,
- 10:51the Green Bay Packers. So I it, it's crazy when you
- 10:54think about it and the outlooks to what Green Bay is now.
- 10:57And they're both great teams. And I would love to see Green
- 11:00Bay meet Chicago once again in the play offs and and go head to
- 11:04head with one another because those games are fun to watch.
- 11:06Ben Johnson and, and the way he calls plays and then the Green
- 11:10Bay Packers in the way their young coach calls plays.
- 11:14It's fun to watch it. It's like a chess game and who's
- 11:18going to win? Who's going to knock off the
- 11:20Rook? Who's going to get to the queen,
- 11:22Who's going to knock off the king to get to the queen?
- 11:25That's the way Ben Johnson and that's the way the Packers like
- 11:28to play one-on-one, one one after the other.
- 11:32And and again, Ben Johnson knows the Green Bay Packers because
- 11:35why he was the offensive coordinator for the Detroit
- 11:38Lions all those years and and the Green Bay Packers and the
- 11:43Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions play in the same division
- 11:47and go against each other twice a year.
- 11:49So they know each other so very well.
- 11:52Now to go to the game, it wasn't Micah Parsons and losing Micah
- 11:58Parsons on why the Green Bay Packers did not win this game.
- 12:02The Packers defense was unbelievable.
- 12:05They put pressure on Caleb Williams all game.
- 12:09They put pressure on the running game of the Chicago Bears all
- 12:14game. This is a Green Bay Packer team
- 12:17that had Malik Willis making plays in the open field.
- 12:21Yes, the same Malik Willis that was drafted by not the Green Bay
- 12:26Packers. Who Speedy?
- 12:27The Tennessee Titans the. Tennessee Titans and he was a
- 12:31second round draft pick if I'm not mistaken.
- 12:33Third round, third. Everyone loved everybody.
- 12:36And thought he was going to be a first round talent, a late first
- 12:38round pick. I remember Malik Willis.
- 12:40He didn't work very well over there in Tennessee.
- 12:43The Green Bay Packers took a chance with, I think he went
- 12:45somewhere else before he went to the Green Bay.
- 12:47Wasn't it the Pittsburgh Steelers?
- 12:48He went somewhere. Atlanta, I think.
- 12:50Atlanta, wherever he went, but he's jumped from squad to squad
- 12:54and finally found his way over there at Green Bay.
- 12:56And I believe that Jordan Love hit was intentional.
- 13:00That was an intentional hit by the Chicago Bears and and the
- 13:05Bears should absolutely, whoever hit him, I don't know who
- 13:08exactly hit him, should be suspended for the next game
- 13:12because to me that was absolutely, he was definitely
- 13:15head hunting. He was definitely trying to hurt
- 13:19Jordan Love. Did it affect the game and the
- 13:22pace of the game? Maybe we don't know.
- 13:23Malik Willis played very well for the Green Bay Packers.
- 13:27He's not Jordan Love and I'm not saying that he is, but he made
- 13:30enough plays and the Packers choked in the fourth quarter.
- 13:35If Dobbs didn't drop that onside, Kerkin and Dobbs had one
- 13:39of his best games of the season. He was the only one catching for
- 13:43the Packers. Watson didn't catch.
- 13:45You can ask Fish. He had him on his fantasy team.
- 13:48Reed, he got a couple of catches at the end of the game.
- 13:50That helped me a little bit. I mean, I don't think it made a
- 13:53difference, but and we'll get into the whole back and forth of
- 13:56me and Fish going back and forth when it came to our fantasy
- 13:59teams last week. And I told you who was going to
- 14:02come out the victor. I know Fish doesn't want to hear
- 14:04it, but you know who came out the victor this week, buddy?
- 14:08The fact here is, I expect to see the Green Bay Packers and
- 14:14the Chicago Bears in the playoffs.
- 14:16I expect that these two teams could actually meet against one
- 14:20another one way or another in the playoffs, and it will be
- 14:25just as good as game one and just as good as game two.
- 14:29The first game was all about the offense.
- 14:31The second game was all about the defense and that to me is
- 14:36what stood out to me when it comes to coaches are very, very
- 14:39similar. The way they call games, the way
- 14:41they call play calling. I I think Jordan Love is is to
- 14:46me. Him and Caleb Williams were up.
- 14:48They were a top seven quarterback in the league.
- 14:49They were up for the MVP. Both of them were on that list.
- 14:52Sam Darnold was and all the quarterbacks that we've
- 14:56mentioned with Vegas, both quarterbacks have had good
- 14:59seasons and both quarterbacks you can win them under sender.
- 15:05The question here is now, is the Green Bay Packers going to make
- 15:11excuses at the end of this season if they get knocked out
- 15:14of the playoffs? Are they going to make excuses
- 15:17because Michael Parsons went down?
- 15:19Are they going to say, well, next year we'll have Michael,
- 15:22next year we'll have Wyatt and we're going to be a better team
- 15:25And this, this, you can't do that.
- 15:27Every team is fighting and playing with injury.
- 15:29Every team is dealing with injured players.
- 15:32You can't make that excuse. You got to go out there and play
- 15:33the game. I have seen teams.
- 15:35I remember the Green Bay Packers, and I mentioned this
- 15:38last show in 2010 with all the injuries they had on the
- 15:43offensive side of the ball and even defensive side of the ball,
- 15:46they found a way to win and that was only the only Aaron Rodgers
- 15:49Super Bowl he's ever won. Even in 2016, when they were
- 15:52really decimated on defense, they still won like eight in a
- 15:54row once the NFC Championship game.
- 15:56Absolutely. There's no excuse.
- 15:58You can't make any excuses on why one team didn't play well in
- 16:03the second-half or one team fall short in the playoffs because of
- 16:08injury and the other team, because they're a little bit
- 16:10more healthier is the reason why they beat them.
- 16:13There's no excuse. You got to go out, you got to
- 16:15play the game. And, and I believe that the
- 16:17Packers did what they were supposed to do.
- 16:19And I know I do believe Ben Johnson.
- 16:21And who's the coach of the the Packers, Matt Lafleur.
- 16:25I don't think they like each other because I remember the
- 16:27first game that they played at the end of the game, they went
- 16:29back and forth with each other in the media room and they went
- 16:32back and forth with each other when they were talking, when
- 16:34they were shaking each other's hands.
- 16:36They don't like each other. And it's fine.
- 16:38You don't. You don't have to like the other
- 16:40team. And when you're playing in the
- 16:41same division and you're playing with this, you're you're
- 16:43coaching the Chicago Bears and you're coaching the Green Bay
- 16:47Packers and you're known to hate one another.
- 16:49You are Michael Parsons come out before before that, the first
- 16:53game, he says. I, I don't know about, I don't
- 16:56have much love. I didn't have much love for the
- 16:58Green Bay Packers and I didn't have much love for the the
- 17:01Chicago Bears. But I know that being a Packer,
- 17:05I have to hate the Chicago Bears and I don't like the Chicago
- 17:08Bears. And I'm going to go out there
- 17:09and I'm going to ram them every single time I go out there.
- 17:12And again, that's the way you want to see these games be
- 17:15played. You want to see that back and
- 17:18forth and you want to see one coach go out the other coach and
- 17:22you want to see that quarterback go out that quarter.
- 17:24These two guys could be the future of the NFL when it comes
- 17:28to quarterback play. Jordan Love, who's still fairly
- 17:30young what 2728 and Caleb Williams, who's 25.
- 17:34These guys are, I wouldn't stay close to age, but they're not
- 17:36far from age. And these guys are the future of
- 17:39the NFL. One who does things in the open
- 17:42field with his legs that we we haven't seen a snake type of
- 17:45play like like an Aaron Rodgers. And the other one who was
- 17:49coached by Aaron Rodgers, who played behind Aaron Rodgers that
- 17:53has the arm strength and the ability to make every single
- 17:55throw in the open field like Jordan Love.
- 17:57Yeah, it's one of those things where I love the chess analogy
- 18:00because I think you wasn't really bad coaching any for
- 18:04either side in this game. Like you look at the Packers
- 18:06defense, like you were saying, they got really good pressure in
- 18:08most of the game with Jeff Haffley without Micah Parsons.
- 18:11And then you look at how well will a Fleur coach with Malik
- 18:14Willis to keep them in the game and take the lead eventually 16
- 18:17to six. It was just to get special teams
- 18:19floppiness that the Packers have cost for years.
- 18:21Like they've lost playoff games based on special teams.
- 18:24We'll talk about the 49ers game a couple years ago when you
- 18:26argue with Jeff. Like they buffed A punt.
- 18:28They couldn't see it in the in the snow and and then they
- 18:30obviously the like kick recovery.
- 18:32But like Matt Lafleur coached a really good game and Malik
- 18:35Willis played well amidst all that.
- 18:36Just the Bears were just better. And Ben Johnson is an ultimate
- 18:39really chess master, right? The way that he coached with DJ
- 18:42Moore being contained most of the game, Colston Loveland being
- 18:45contained most of the game. They had 4th and 5th string wide
- 18:48receivers. They had no Luther Bird in their
- 18:49second round rookie and they had Noah Dunsay who's missed the
- 18:53last five weeks or so and really hasn't been a factor.
- 18:55Ben Johnson coached an unbelievable game amidst all
- 18:57that. And you mentioned the injury
- 18:59excuse. The Bears have lost the most
- 19:01players like combined games with players to injury more than
- 19:04anyone else in the league this year and they're 11 and four.
- 19:07That is a coach of the year conversation type guy with.
- 19:09That I don't think he wins coach of the year.
- 19:11I love what McDonald's done and and and you would ask me my
- 19:14opinion, Frey Ball and McDonald would be my top two guys.
- 19:17Frey Ball, what he's done in the AFC and in in AFC East that's
- 19:20been dominated by Buffalo over the last couple of years.
- 19:23And then really trying to fill in and, and take over for a Bill
- 19:27Belichick who he was under for so many years, won Super Bowls
- 19:30with Bill Belichick. And even though they've had some
- 19:32of the one of the easiest schedules in NFL history, third
- 19:36easiest in NFL history, you got to give Ray Ball a little bit of
- 19:39credit. They won 10 games in a row.
- 19:41And then you go to McDonald's, you're in a division with the
- 19:45San Francisco 49ers that is probably going to make the
- 19:47playoffs and the Rams that are going to make the playoffs,
- 19:50three teams that are going to make the playoffs.
- 19:52And I would say San Francisco's had the easiest of the the
- 19:54schedules. Nevertheless you had to play
- 19:57those two teams twice and have played so sensational with
- 20:01really one wide receiver. You don't have a number two.
- 20:04You have one guy that has been dominant and a running game with
- 20:07Walker and and Charbonnay who has been when when playing at
- 20:11the top of the game is as good at 2 headed monster in the NFL.
- 20:15Yeah, whatever combination you're going to give them,
- 20:16whether it's the coach of the year, goes to McDonald or goes
- 20:19to Johnson. I think it goes to McDonald's.
- 20:21I don't think you take it away. Because I'm going to say John
- 20:23Schneider is also like worthy of executive of the year for
- 20:25Seattle, too. And their draft was really good
- 20:27this year. They've had a lot of good.
- 20:28He's been there forever. Yeah, I know.
- 20:29And they've really drafted him conventionally for a while.
- 20:32And then same kind of thing with the Bears.
- 20:33When you look at, you talked about it like they're really
- 20:35good at finding running backs and really good at finding
- 20:37defense. This is the first time you
- 20:38really see a team of the Chicago Bears besides maybe that one
- 20:41year of Mark Tressman and Jay Cutler, where this is actually a
- 20:45really good passing attack too. The Bears are the only team ever
- 20:48that I've never had a 4000 yard passer in NFL history.
- 20:50Now Caleb Williams has 3400 yards.
- 20:52He's probably not going to get there unless he gets to 300
- 20:54yards of both of the final two games this year, but Even so,
- 20:56like the progress he has. He lost Keenan Allen and a
- 20:59Doonese has been up and down, couldn't stay healthy.
- 21:02DJ Moore has not been the same wide receiver since they traded
- 21:05for him, but he's been efficient.
- 21:06He you can use them in so many different ways.
- 21:09He's not. He doesn't have the speed he
- 21:10used to have when he played for Carolina, but you could stick
- 21:13him in a slot, which they've done.
- 21:14They can move him on the outside.
- 21:16He could he could be a number #3 guy, especially with a Doonese
- 21:19in that lineup. But they're going to be, I
- 21:21believe Chicago's, what they're going to do in the, in the draft
- 21:24next year is going to look for a #2A real legitimate #2 because
- 21:28Keenan Allen's no longer there. He went to LA in the offseason.
- 21:33He wanted to go back to his old team and play with Justin
- 21:35Herbert. And you can see the difference
- 21:37if they get a number two guy and have DJ Moore as a #3.
- 21:41You're talking about the best offense in the NFL.
- 21:43And an offense that I think could play in many different
- 21:45styles too, like they could play 2 tight ends with Komet now
- 21:47healthy and Loveland that are both kind of emerged in
- 21:50different roles. The 2 running backs you were
- 21:51talking about, they could play that kind of 2 dual.
- 21:54Loveland's taking, He's definitely been better in the
- 21:57second-half of the season. He he didn't look much of
- 22:00anything in the first half. And remember, he was picked
- 22:03before the superstar tight end over there in Indianapolis and a
- 22:07lot of people questioning it. Yeah, and he's had the better
- 22:09second-half of the season. Warren, in the second-half of
- 22:11the season, really since their bye week, has not been great and
- 22:13Loveland has played outplayed. Teams are starting to figure out
- 22:15Tyler Wall. Yeah.
- 22:16And I think Loveland, you look at the spacing that he has in
- 22:19that type of offense with the Bears.
- 22:20And again, the same kind of reason the Bears took Laporta in
- 22:23the OR the Lion took Laporta in the second round two years ago.
- 22:25Like you got that kind of route running emergence tight end and
- 22:27then the Comet can be the blocking tight end and help out
- 22:29that offensive line, which has had some tackle injuries, but
- 22:32it's still been very good in the interior mentioned they trade
- 22:34Fortuni and Jackson and all those guys.
- 22:35Drew Dahlman a free from Atlanta.
- 22:37Yeah, right. And that's where you look at the
- 22:40impact of a Ben Johnson physical type offense to go along with
- 22:43it. So they can play so many
- 22:44different styles. And now that this defense has
- 22:46gotten their secondary healthy, this is a really good.
- 22:48Would you be surprised if Chicago goes to the Super Bowl
- 22:50this year? I would.
- 22:52The only thing, the only thing I questioned still with them is
- 22:54sometimes they started slow in games, which I don't know if you
- 22:56can necessarily. Their special teams has been
- 22:58sensational all season. They're they're getting, you
- 23:01know, big runs from their kick returners and their punt
- 23:04returners. I think they've done and their
- 23:06kicker's been one of the best in the league too.
- 23:08This. Year yeah, they've always had
- 23:09good special teams. I think besides that one year,
- 23:11every year with a missed field goal in the playoffs with the
- 23:13Eagles because they had a new kicker at the time, but like
- 23:16their special team has always been good.
- 23:17What I like to see is going forward this defense now getting
- 23:20healthy because they have a really good threesome of corners
- 23:22now that's Stevenson, Johnson and Tyler Gordon are all healthy
- 23:25for once to go along with that pass rush that is really good
- 23:28pressure rate wise to Dennis Allen coming over as a defensive
- 23:30coordinator after he was fired as a head coach in the Saints, a
- 23:33very good effective too. I need to see more again against
- 23:35those bigger teams like starting faster because the Bears have
- 23:38still had trouble with that throughout the game.
- 23:40But this is a team like the Commanders last year with more
- 23:43talent that is really good in the fourth quarter.
- 23:45You know, I always tell teams that I think you're going to be
- 23:48good earlier in the season. Like, you guys don't even know
- 23:51how good you are yet. And I think the Bears don't
- 23:53realize. I think guys like Caleb
- 23:55Williams, you know, they didn't realize how good they were until
- 23:59they got to this point, you know, in the last couple of
- 24:01weeks. Their coach is incredible.
- 24:03They're playing for him. They run through walls for him.
- 24:06I think he picked that up. Ripping the shirt off was a
- 24:09little extremely a couple of weeks.
- 24:10Ago I thought it was hilarious. Obviously it was hilarious, but
- 24:14you know what? That clearly isn't a guy who was
- 24:16like that I bet until he worked for Dan Campbell.
- 24:19I think working for Dan Campbell allowed him to go from more than
- 24:22just a Master X's and O's guy to a Master X's and O's and also a
- 24:28program and culture builder and a guy that people want to be
- 24:31around and thinks about those types of things and how to build
- 24:35a team. And Kayla Williams doesn't
- 24:36strike me as a guy that's easy to get to buy in, and he got him
- 24:40to buy in this year, and that is awesome.
- 24:43I mean, Kayla Williams, dude, those two throws at the end of
- 24:46the game, unbelievable. The first one, he's fading away
- 24:49like Kobe Bryant and he throws it to the back corner of the end
- 24:53zone on the money. The guy was wide open, but he
- 24:55was falling back under pressure like a Madden.
- 24:58Like he was like literally doing the Madden thing where you back
- 25:00up and throw and just hope that you have enough accuracy to make
- 25:03the play. And if that's how they tie the
- 25:05game. And then the one where he in
- 25:08overtime after they turn them over on downs.
- 25:11I mean, DJ Moore, I would say he's more of a #2 like type of
- 25:15guy that you want to have, you know how they used to use Cooper
- 25:18Cub where like he can be outside, but you probably want
- 25:21him in the slot. I think like when you have three
- 25:24wide receiver sets, you're putting them outside, but if you
- 25:26have two wide receiver slats, you put it, you're taking Luther
- 25:29Burden off the field. DJ Moore should be that second
- 25:31guy. If you're going 22 personnel or
- 25:3321 personnel or something like that, that's at least that's
- 25:36what I think. I really like that guy they
- 25:38clearly love. I like DJ Moore.
- 25:40I do. I loved him in Carolina.
- 25:42I loved his ability and he was in fantasy.
- 25:45I always drafted him, but he could never stay.
- 25:47And good for me in the stretch run.
- 25:48He's going to get me into the finals in one league unless
- 25:51George Kittle goes off tonight. And I I really just love the way
- 25:55he plays. Obviously that was a huge play.
- 25:58PFF, you know, you get not everybody loves PFF.
- 26:02I know they're not your favorite, but they've been
- 26:04rating like the most impactful throws in since like they've
- 26:08been, I don't know how many years they've been doing it,
- 26:09Speedy maybe you know, but they gave him a + 2 rating on that
- 26:13throw of the DJ Moore. No one's ever been above has
- 26:16ever gotten a + 2. They're calling it the most
- 26:19impactful, like one play, one throw, any quarterbacks made
- 26:23since they've started measuring it.
- 26:25That just tells you how crazy he's been with some of the arm
- 26:29talent. It's 100% true.
- 26:31All the stories they said, you know, the clips we show from
- 26:34college and throwing it like 70 yards on on a rope to a guy you
- 26:39know in at USC, like the guy was incredible.
- 26:42But now he's doing it against the NFL against the Packers
- 26:44defense and when the team needs you the most.
- 26:47Now, obviously they got super lucky to beat the Packers and
- 26:50the Packers are in trouble now because Malik Willis sucks.
- 26:53Like like, I'm sorry that dudes been bad for a while.
- 26:56And you know, Liberty College is finest.
- 26:59A third round pick is doesn't inspire confidence.
- 27:02They've got to win one of these next two games.
- 27:04They got the Ravens. I don't know if Lamar's playing.
- 27:07I think he's going to try to play, but he's compromised and
- 27:09that Vikings team is going to try to play spoiler.
- 27:12If they can't win those games, don't put it past the Lions to
- 27:15win those two games and make it in on the Packers.
- 27:18Now that they're that's a bad headshot though, bro.
- 27:22I don't know if he can come back.
- 27:24I don't. I don't expect them to be back
- 27:25for this game. It's going to be tough for him
- 27:27to be back for two the second game as well and they're going
- 27:30to really need him I think for that last game, unless the Lions
- 27:34choke and I just don't see that happening.
- 27:36It's there's a lot of questions with the Jordan Love head and
- 27:39I've been saying, and I think it was intentional and I think the
- 27:42NFL needs to look at it. And I, again, I don't remember
- 27:45who hit him, but you could tell he was head hunting you.
- 27:48You were trying. You could tell that he was
- 27:50trying to hurt. Him, I mean, he kind of put his
- 27:52head down, but he still got a hit in the chin.
- 27:54If even if he didn't do that, the guy that whole game, I mean,
- 27:59the third play of the game, DJ Moore got sniped by Keyshawn
- 28:02Nixon who came across the field. It looked like some it was super
- 28:06illegal. I, I hope they announce a fine
- 28:07for it tomorrow, whenever they do it after these things,
- 28:10because it was real bad. It was obvious and blatant and
- 28:13the whole game was like that. It was it was literally a
- 28:16playoff atmosphere, as it well should be with that rivalry.
- 28:20But it was it went a little too far at times in that game, I
- 28:23thought. But you know what?
- 28:24That's football, baby. That's football.
- 28:27If you're if you're a Chicago Bears fan, you're loving it.
- 28:31If you're a Green Bay Packer fan, you're hating it.
- 28:33Because in in your eyes, that's a Green Bay Packer fan.
- 28:36I know I got to give a give a shout out to Jamie Lee baby.
- 28:40He's a Green Bay Packer fan. The when when Jordan love went
- 28:44down, the first thing he said is intentional.
- 28:46The NFL needs to look at he says there they go Chicago cheating
- 28:49again. So and that's a Green Bay Packer
- 28:51fan. I I agree with a lot of Packer
- 28:53haters that can't stand the Packer fans, but he's not wrong.
- 28:56That was intentional. Watch the watch the hit over and
- 28:59over and over again. You can tell it was
- 29:00intentionally done and unfortunate.
- 29:03It it it goes it goes well for the Chicago Bears and it doesn't
- 29:06go well for the Bay Packers will hope that Jordan Love comes back
- 29:09one of these games because if he doesn't, the Green Bay Packers
- 29:13could fall out of the playoffs just as fast.
- 29:15So I expect him to be back in the final week of the season and
- 29:19I expect the Green Bay Packers to push forward and make the
- 29:22playoffs. I would love I don't want to see
- 29:24the as good as the Lions are and I love watching the lions.
- 29:27I don't want to see the weaker team play the Chicago Bears
- 29:31where they have an easy round if they're matched up at one point
- 29:34against the Lions when you you have a a harder time playing
- 29:38against the Green Bay Packers. There's just my opinion.
- 29:40All right, ladies and gentlemen, our recap.
- 29:43Save your tears. Mom, what's one thing that you
- 29:46can't talk to me about? My sexual fantasies.
- 29:49No. No, say your sorry, it is not
- 29:53ideal, but if it's what means it is not ideal.
- 29:55But if it's just not ideal, but if it is, what means you can't
- 29:58treble stamp a double stamp, you can't treble stamp a double
- 30:01stamp. Lord, you can't dribble stamp a
- 30:02double stamp. But but you guys, now it's time
- 30:08for save your tear, save your. Tear all right, welcome to save
- 30:14your tears. This is the compliment chorus
- 30:18we're going to recap last week for week 16.
- 30:23I was not a part of that one. Here was the here's the updated
- 30:27graphic. Oh, I didn't realize that kind
- 30:28of looked like that mouth to fix it.
- 30:30But here you had some real interesting if you took Jordan
- 30:33Love. Not a great job by you,
- 30:35obviously. We just talked about his injury.
- 30:36Kayla Williams and Justin Herbert had pretty good games,
- 30:39as did Dak Prescott. Josh Jacobs had a dud.
- 30:43If you had him, Marion Hampton probably would have been the one
- 30:45to go with in that one for only a buck.
- 30:48He's back for the Chargers. Pickens had a monster game.
- 30:52DJ Moore with a big touchdown at the end.
- 30:56Lad Mcconkey had a big touchdown.
- 30:58Ted McMillan having a big second-half of his rookie season
- 31:03and none of the tight ends did anything.
- 31:05Let's see who the winner was and once again it is Speedy Petey
- 31:13the winner. Once again.
- 31:14Jabba Chamberlain comes in second place and then followed
- 31:19by our intern Jarrett who finishes his run with a third
- 31:22place victory. A third place finish on the
- 31:25podium with 73.56 Speedy. With this five points into the
- 31:30standings, you effectively clinch the championship for the
- 31:35regular season. Now, Errol, do we want to keep
- 31:39the scores going for the postseason or do you want to
- 31:41start fresh? I think we start fresh.
- 31:44I think we start fresh. All right, so then we'll come up
- 31:47with some kind of award at the end of next week's for Speedy.
- 31:51I don't know what it's going to be yet, but we'll think of
- 31:53something, Errol, for sure. But for now, Speedy, you get the
- 31:56compliment course. Unfortunately, most of the
- 31:58people are not here right now. I'll fill in for Jared because
- 32:03his score is better than probably anything I would have
- 32:05guessed going house to This season's gone for me and Jared
- 32:07has the exact same amount of points as me in the standings,
- 32:10so I may as well do it for him. Speedy, what a run this season
- 32:17on Savior tears. The inaugural NFL season of
- 32:20Savior tears for job on the mouth.
- 32:22What you know, we only kind of and kind of grasp what you've
- 32:28been able to do. And I don't know exactly what it
- 32:31is because I lose every week, but it appears that you always
- 32:35pick the right quarterback and you always have one of the
- 32:38sleeper receivers. I'm going to have to figure out,
- 32:40I'm going to have to follow you a little bit.
- 32:42Errol, you were making mistakes following me earlier in the
- 32:44season. That's why you slid down the
- 32:46FedEx standings. But then when the follow is
- 32:50speedy PD, congratulations on your season long win.
- 32:54Let's move on next. Sitting in last place this week,
- 32:59Mr. Errol. Well, there's, there's not a lot
- 33:02of compliments I I'm going to lead with because I have my own
- 33:05thoughts to some of the mistakes that he's made.
- 33:07But Speedy is an analytic Wiz. 51% positive.
- 33:11I'll I'll do whatever I have to do anyways.
- 33:14I he's an analytic Wiz when it comes to making choices at this
- 33:19range. Not very good at fantasy has
- 33:21eyewitness. You know what this past week,
- 33:23but nevertheless, the guy knows his stuff.
- 33:27He's obviously done his research and and obviously knows the
- 33:32players and what they're going to do and how they match up very
- 33:35well against other teams. Though I, I congratulate him.
- 33:38He's been very good at it all season long.
- 33:41I can't, I can't question his understanding of analytics and
- 33:45how he matches them up against whoever they're playing against.
- 33:48So congratulations. That was very poetic and well
- 33:53put, Tommy. Poops, speedy PD, man, I mean,
- 33:57you're always, it's always like you're up here at the podium
- 34:00with the crown on. But speedy man, I remember when
- 34:03I felt like I was sort of on my high horse, my huge podium when
- 34:06I was doing really well every other week over here on Save
- 34:09Your Tears. But really, you brought me down
- 34:11off of my high horse just because you know what to do.
- 34:13You know your stuff, You know your picks, man.
- 34:16You know how to get those sleeper picks like Fish has
- 34:18mentioned. And really, I know, I know
- 34:20you're mentioning that I've been doing too well in fantasy
- 34:23recently, but hey man, you're at least killing it.
- 34:25You've been killing it all season long for Savior tears.
- 34:28So Congrats man. There you go.
- 34:32That's really nice, Nathan from the car because he's just moving
- 34:39and shaking all time. Nath Mania, What do you got to
- 34:42say to our once again champion? I'm going to make this short and
- 34:46quick. Speedy the man myth, the legend.
- 34:49Great job, Speedy. Keep up the great work and
- 34:51you're the master of this game. Save your tears.
- 34:54So keep it up man Congrats. Well put Nathan.
- 34:59Guys, we are going to, since we're only doing 1 episode this
- 35:01week, later on tonight at near the end of the show in the last
- 35:04hour, we will do our week 17 episode version of Save Your
- 35:10Tears where we'll pick our teams, where we'll discover next
- 35:13week who the winner is. Once again, although Speedy is
- 35:16the champion, we'll come up with some kind of prize for him.
- 35:19And again, if you don't like how it went, this.
- 35:21Season a couple of smacks. Cry about it.
- 35:23You got to save your tears. I don't know about saving
- 35:26anything. Smack him around a couple of
- 35:29times. All right, Our golf clap of the
- 35:32day. This deserves a golf clap, no
- 35:36doubt. Golf clap.
- 35:37Golf clap. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 35:43it's pretty simple here. My golf clap of the day is a
- 35:46record-breaking Travis Kelsey and some interesting, an
- 35:51interesting story that came out about Travis Kelsey.
- 35:54Well, here's the story historically on Sunday, the
- 36:00quarterback Gardner, Gardner Minshew gets hurt and they bring
- 36:05in how do you pronounce his name?
- 36:06Ola Dawkins, who took over as the quarterback of this team and
- 36:11his his first pass, well, his second pass was Travis Kelce's
- 36:16800 yard, 800 yard this past year, which is 12th consecutive
- 36:21season of 800 yards plus, which is a record-breaking.
- 36:26It's record-breaking because prior to that, the only the NFL
- 36:30player that has accomplished that is Jerry Rice.
- 36:33He's the only player to ever do that besides Travis Kelsey.
- 36:36Jerry Rice was a wide receiver. Travis Kelsey is a tight end.
- 36:40So he's the first tight end to do that consecutively,
- 36:43consecutively in 12 straight seasons, 800 yards.
- 36:48But the story that really makes me want to laugh is the depth
- 36:52charts. And the depth chart was main
- 36:55shoe being #1 How do you pronounce his name?
- 36:58Alludican. Alludican.
- 37:00Is he? Is he related?
- 37:01No, he's not fun. That's alludican Ferrari foye.
- 37:04He was a Falcons third string or something.
- 37:06Practice Squad. All right, so Alludican, who is
- 37:09he was he was second on the depth charts, right behind
- 37:13Garden Minshew. And you know who was third?
- 37:15Travis Kelsey was third on the depth charts to be the
- 37:19quarterback if Alludican got hurt.
- 37:23And what so, so interesting about that is after the game
- 37:26when media came to him and they saw the depth charts and they
- 37:29saw that Travis Kelsey was on the quarterback depth chart, he
- 37:32they asked him, he said have you ever played quarterback before?
- 37:36He says, I did it in high school.
- 37:37And he said, what makes you feel that you can be a quarterback in
- 37:42the NFL? He said, listen, I'm I'm the the
- 37:44number one hope. I'm the I'm the best hope for
- 37:48Kansas City to to get over the humble offensively as a
- 37:51quarterback for this roster in this team.
- 37:54Meanwhile, the story is coming out by many different sources
- 37:57that him and Taylor Swift are pregnant.
- 38:01Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know if that to be true, but the
- 38:04story really is, is that Travis Kelsey is the third string
- 38:09quarterback. And this coming week, if Garter
- 38:11Minshew is not ready, he is the second string quarterback for
- 38:16the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh my God, what a golf clap that
- 38:20would be if he got he gets the chance to play and hit maybe one
- 38:24of his final football games as an NFL player, as the
- 38:28quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 38:30Who would have thought in the start of the season for Patrick
- 38:32Mahomes to Gardner Minshew to a Ludican to Travis Kelsey.
- 38:38How does that make sense? And by the way, I want to give a
- 38:41shout out to Travis Kelsey because he's been making his
- 38:44rounds over the last couple of days on different shows,
- 38:48speaking about what it would be like not playing with Patrick
- 38:51Mahomes again and one of the greatest quarterbacks he's ever
- 38:55played with. Really the only quarterback I
- 38:57could say besides, you know, Alex Smith that he played with.
- 39:00But it's, you know, you, you have to like Travis Kelsey.
- 39:05You can't hate Travis Kelsey because of his personality and,
- 39:09and, and how how much praise he has for the players he plays
- 39:13with, coaches that coach him and just so much high praise of
- 39:17Patrick Mahomes, not because of the great things that he's done
- 39:20with him, just the great person that he is on and off the field.
- 39:24I don't think people understand and he said, I don't think
- 39:26people understand how great of a person Patrick Mahomes is.
- 39:30And when you get to know him, you can only understand who he
- 39:33is as a person and how he is to the fans and the kids and all
- 39:36the people that worship him. That's what makes him a star and
- 39:40that that's a sensational statement when you see all the
- 39:43great things Patrick Mahomes has done on a football field.
- 39:45So if this is the final three games we see Travis Kelsey, this
- 39:51guy's going to go down as one of the top three, maybe even top 2
- 39:54greatest tight ends to ever play the game.
- 39:56And this is a guy that might have never played college
- 39:58football if it wasn't for his brother Jason.
- 40:00With all the things and trials and tribulations he had and what
- 40:03he dealt with in college with drugs and some of the things
- 40:07that he's done on and off the field.
- 40:08And then getting a chance to be drafted by an NFL team and
- 40:12accomplishing all the things that he's accomplished as a
- 40:15superstar in the NFL is pretty amazing.
- 40:17So my golf clap goes to Travis Kelsey on IF.
- 40:20This might be the final time we see Travis Kelsey as an NFL
- 40:25football player. What a great career Travis
- 40:27Kelsey has and and you have to give him a Golf Club.
- 40:30So my Golf Club goes to Travis Kelsey great career and might be
- 40:36the final time we ever see him and might see him on a football
- 40:39field as a quarterback. One way or another, who knows
- 40:42what could happen. Thank you to all the fans tuning
