- 0:04Dayna Roselli: We have now seen what the outside exosphere can do.
- 0:07Dayna Roselli: This week we have new exclusive details about the inside of the sphere.
- 0:13Sean McAllister: Then the Miranda Lambert backlash After this moment at her Vegas show went viral.
- 0:18Sean McAllister: These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.
- 0:21Sean McAllister: It's pissing me off a little bit.
- 0:22Sean McAllister: This week, an exclusive account from one of the women who Miranda scolded.
- 0:27Sean McAllister: Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is our guest.
- 0:31Perez Hilton: Some of her friends left.
- 0:32Perez Hilton: She told me she decided to stay but wasn't a really bad mood after it all happened and understandably I don't think I would have stayed.
- 0:41Dayna Roselli: I know you, perez, you wouldn't have stayed.
- 0:44Perez Hilton: No, I would have not stayed at all.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Plus, we check out the Awakening show at the win for a second time to see all the updated changes, our thoughts coming up.
- 0:56Sean McAllister: A strip resort that hasn't charged for parking in the past is making some changes.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: We reveal what we know so far.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: We sip on some bourbon cocktails made from Nevada's only ground to glass estate distillery.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: They even got us an Uber for this happy hour.
- 1:11Sean McAllister: That was a good one, Plus a new off-strip hotel.
- 1:14Sean McAllister: That could be a great place to stay if you come in for a game or business.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: And all you can eat sushi.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: An all day happy hour at a sushi restaurant near the strip.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: All that and more this week on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: Let's spin that wheel.
- 1:28Dayna Roselli: Let's go to Vegas, baby, let's go tonight.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 178 of Vegas Revealed Dayna Roselli and Sean McAllister here with another episode and a lot to talk about, as usual.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh and I mean the buzz-worthy thing this week in Vegas is all about Miranda Lambert and what went down at her Vegas show, with kind of a quite the curt interaction with fans.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I feel like there's one take and there's another take.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: We're gonna talk all about it with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: He now lives in Las Vegas.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: He kind of really hopped on this story, posted a video.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: It went viral and then mainstream media started to pick it up.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: He actually talked to the girl that was taking this picture.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: So all that coming up stick around, it's a good chat.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: It's a very good chat, absolutely.
- 2:25Sean McAllister: Another buzz-worthy thing still here in Las Vegas.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: We've talked about it the past couple weeks the sphere.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: Yes, everyone's talking about it still.
- 2:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean it's still astounding.
- 2:37Sean McAllister: People I know, friends on social media who live here in Vegas, are like hey, what are the inside tips?
- 2:43Sean McAllister: Where can I go to get the best picture of the sphere?
- 2:46Sean McAllister: I wanna take my family?
- 2:47Sean McAllister: They're in town, so it is an instant tourist attraction.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: It really is, and last week we discussed the best place to see the outside of the sphere by taking the monorail that goes right by it.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: But this week we actually have some details about the inside.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: I got a little I don't know if I wanna call it exclusive, because there are people that work at the sphere and see the inside all the time and leave and go home and probably talk to their families about it and friends, but for me and for, I think, a lot of people, we haven't heard much about the inside of the sphere, so I've got some new details that I can share.
- 3:24Sean McAllister: Well, and these are details that really haven't been widely reported.
- 3:27Sean McAllister: So, from that perspective, let's call it a Vegas revealed exclusive.
- 3:31Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 3:31Sean McAllister: Why the hell not?
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: So I was chatting with someone who works there and he was telling me that when it comes to the inside, if you're going to see like a show, like say you're going to see you two, you don't necessarily need to or want to be close.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: Interesting In section 100 at the bottom.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: Because there is, and it's kind of like awakening that we went to in Michael Jackson.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: Right, there's things happening around you.
- 3:59Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: This is a screen, so there are gonna be things.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: It's up and over, he said.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: The screen is so if you're up front you're not really gonna be able to see the whole kind of what's happening than utilizing the sphere.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: Right, so I think what we knew before is that it's a 270 degree screen inside, so it really is designed to envelop you in whatever is being shown.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: Right, so if you're gonna buy tickets for a show, he was saying 200, 300, the sections are good sections to be in Interesting.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: However, if you were going specifically to be close to that artist and you want to see that artist close up, section 100 is good for you.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: So if that makes sense.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: Like, if you're like I want to get close, I want to be able to see them, then still go with your section 100.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: But if you're there to experience the show as a whole, you definitely want to sit a little farther back.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was interesting.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: Another thing that he was telling me is that there's this area underneath the stage.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: He was calling it a nightclub, but then he was like well, maybe more like a, not a green room, but like a VIP lounge where maybe the artists, vips, will go or their friends and family.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: But he said it's a really cool spot underneath the stage, interesting, I know.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: So I was like okay, that's juicy.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: Then we also talked about again how the screen goes up and over.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: He said that there was a kind of sound checkish, kind of rehearsal type of thing for you too, and that it's incredible.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: So I think he's seen some of the images and he's like people are not going to be disappointed.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: And he also said the postcard from earth show that's going to be there some days it's there two, two times, I think.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: On some other days it's there three times, like 437 and nine or something like that.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: I forget, but he was saying if you want to see, like, what that screen can do, this is something you'll want to check out.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: Postcard from earth is what you want to check out.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's what he was saying.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: He was saying it will show off what this screen can do, and he was like you do not see one single pixel.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Wow, it's unreal.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was great.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: Some good advice for folks that are going to go to the show, the you two show, or any other shows that are going to be announced in the future.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Think about that when you're, when you're buying your tickets.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: Also, know, postcard from earth.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: If you want to really see the screen and it's full effect, go, go see that too.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: And again, the screen on the inside of the sphere is the highest resolution screen on planet earth.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: Unreal, so we can't wait.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's going to be a good one.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: It is Something else is pretty spectacular over at Win Las Vegas.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: Their show Awakening has been reawakened.
- 6:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it has.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: We mentioned that it closed for a little over a month as they were retooling the show.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: They took in a lot of feedback and you know a lot of shows do that in Las Vegas.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: That's common.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: It's not anything that's like completely out of the ordinary.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: And we went to see it again and you know our take.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: At the end you and I looked at each other and had a little discussion and we were like it was much better.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: We really enjoyed it.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think that the changes that they made definitely pulled the entire story and the entire production together, and that's really, if you go back and listen to our initial critique and review of the show, that's that's what we were looking for, and they did that, and they added some comedy in there too.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love the comedy.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: I was snickering through the whole thing.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: I heard you.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: I thought they were great.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: I know you could hear my big love laugh.
- 7:32Sean McAllister: We were like separated by an aisle, but I could hear Roselle over there.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, you liked that one.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: I know I thought it was so funny.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: I thought it was really funny and I loved, like you said, being able to follow the story.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: I thought the story was easier to follow where, like, actually by the end I had chills at some moments, so I thought there was emotion and and laughter and I really, really enjoyed it.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: You know, to the point where actually the next day I was thinking about it again, like I really loved that.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: The costumes, the big dance numbers I thought were really cool, utilizing that whole cast and them dancing to music.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: It moves and the sound system is great.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: Remember when that B buzz by, or?
- 8:11Sean McAllister: something.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: There was an insect buzzing in our ears.
- 8:15Sean McAllister: So, you leaned over like you were ready to swat it.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: I was like where is it?
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: Because I kept waiting because at one point some bird flew by us.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: Did you see that?
- 8:23Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: I have some video of that that actually we can put up.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: If you're watching the video version, that was kind of crazy.
- 8:28Perez Hilton: Yeah.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: And then they still use the big whale.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: There are so many different elements to this show.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: You are really visually like, wow, this is stunning.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: The way the stage moves, the colors unreal.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: It's fantastic.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: The price point is also something that's new.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: They've lowered the price point, starting at $99.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: They go up at the higher end to $179, which, in the grand scheme of Vegas ticket prices for shows, is still pretty darn reasonable.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: I agree, yeah, and that theater is gorgeous.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: The seats are plush, it's beautiful.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: Go in grab a drink before the bar area and the lobby, when you walk in, has that beautiful ceiling.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: So it's an experience.
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: I think it really is an experience.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, that lobby is Instagram worthy in and of itself.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Yes, for sure I did have someone write us on Twitter, though, and say, well, the storyline that they didn't like how the storyline was simplified, and they said that's for all you people who can't understand.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: I'm like I get it.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: There are people with that analytical, deep mind that might have really enjoyed the storyline in the first version, but that's not us and I feel like probably most of the world.
- 9:43Sean McAllister: I have had this discussion with friends who are movie critics and who are big into theatrical productions, who are behind the scenes and create those kind of things, and I've had the same discussion.
- 9:57Sean McAllister: I'm like you know what.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: I am one of those consumers who I just want to go and be entertained.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: I am not looking for a through line that is going to change my perspective on life.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: I am not sitting there and dissecting pieces of dialogue and how it.
- 10:18Sean McAllister: No, I just want to be entertained.
- 10:20Sean McAllister: I want to come away from it and say you know what, that was really good and I want to have been able to understand what I just saw.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: Right, especially when you're in Vegas, you know, yes, I mean you know, but I did learn a little bit.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: I liked how they did bring it all together and I thought, oh, that was a beautiful what they said.
- 10:37Dayna Roselli: At the end I don't want to give away a lot, but and I was like that is so true they kind of brought it all together and so there are some moments that are still very high brow and you look at the way that it makes you look at life and how things grow.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: So anyway, you'll see.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: If you go see Awakening, I think you should check it out.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: I definitely think it's worth it.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: They have, I think, two shows a night on weekends, maybe even weekdays, and there's a seven and a nine 30.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: But we went to the nine 30.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: And I liked again, I'm liking this late night show thing.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: I like doing something before going to the show, then going home.
- 11:08Sean McAllister: It was.
- 11:08Sean McAllister: We went and grabbed a, grabbed a cocktail beforehand with some friends and then went to the show.
- 11:14Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so very enjoyable, and Anthony Hopkins is still narrating.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So, you'll know that.
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: What else we got to talk?
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: Parking next door to the win and what?
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: Why?
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: For how many years have we been saying we love the Venetian because there's free parking?
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so apparently the Venetian is changing.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: That it's kind of a bummer.
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: The Venetian is right in front of the sphere.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: So since you know, the sphere will be opening in late September, people are saying that that's probably the reason that parking is now going to cost, because there might be some people who park at Venetian and walk over.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: And we did check out their website to get confirmation of this and it does say the Venetian resort currently offers complimentary self parking as a courtesy.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: We will begin charging for self parking later this summer.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: So it's spelled out there.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: So you know, as you mentioned, this self parking fee over there, Venetian and Palazzo, comes as the sphere is opening, it comes as F one is hitting town.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: It makes us sad.
- 12:19Sean McAllister: It does make us sad Because that was one of the.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: I love both of those properties to begin with, but it was a big draw to be able to go and park over there for free.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: It's true and it's so interesting because I don't know about.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: I think we both think this when we have friends in town or there's a group of us that do want to go out on the strip.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: We think of the properties that have free parking.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, what restaurant could we go to at the Venetian?
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: I mean it's part of it.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: It's like you know, if you're going to go spend money on a big meal, you don't want to spend 30 bucks to park either.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: And I'm not saying the Venetian is going to cost 30.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: We do not know the cost yet.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: We also don't know if there'll be any type of locals discount.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: So, but they do have $35 valet there.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: But I think that is that factors in.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: So it's interesting, because then I hear a lot of rumors and buzz that now the wind might follow suit.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: Well, they charge for parking, then they stop charging for parking.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: So I'll be curious to see if they'll start charging again.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: But when I had gone into a restaurant after they made it free again, one of the hostesses was telling me or maybe it was one of the managers actually saying you know, people weren't coming into the restaurants anymore, the locals, the people that drove into the property.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: We lost money on that and we felt like it wasn't worth charging for parking and so we got rid of it.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: So they definitely approved the point.
- 13:33Sean McAllister: I think that there should be at least some sort of parking validation system where if you spend X amount at retail or dining or whatever, then your parking is free, or be like Resorts World, and if you sign up for the players card, parking is free, you get it free on the app.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: You just scan it as you go in.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: It's great and you know what it works.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: It does that kind of stuff works to keep that property top of mind.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: Yep, I just booked my parents at Resorts World.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: They're coming in in September and they haven't been here in a very long time.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: I want it to be special.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: But on the Resorts World app, when I used the free parking I saw I had a couple of messages and it was like 30% off and I thought let me look around Resorts World and see what it works.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: So the benefits of that getting people to open your app I mean smart on them.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: So it'll be interesting to see if the wind starts charging.
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: But again, venetian has confirmed later in the summer they're going to start charging.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: We'll keep you posted on what that will cost.
- 14:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: Well, moving a little bit south down the Las Vegas strip over to Planet Hollywood and the Bact Theater.
- 14:43Sean McAllister: That is the venue where Miranda Lambert, the country superstar, where she performs her Las Vegas residency.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: Right, so a little clip of this portion of the show has gone viral this week.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: Everyone is talking about it.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: Let's listen and hear what Miranda said.
- 15:01Perez Hilton: She stopped the show and said this Something down the hall, I'm going to stop writing your first second.
- 15:10Perez Hilton: I'm sorry.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: It's pissing me off a little bit.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: So, if you're watching our video podcast, here is one of the pictures in question, and this is from the woman's Instagram account.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: Her name is Adela and, again, this is one of several.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: She took a couple alone, and then there are group shots.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: I don't know why Miranda called it a selfie, because it's a group shot.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: And then there's someone taking a picture of Adela.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, it wasn't really a selfie.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: It was, you know, a group shot and someone was taking the picture.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: But Perez Hilton, a long time the OG celebrity blogger, has moved to Las Vegas, lives in Las Vegas.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: We want to interview Perez for a longer portion of time about so many things in the future, but Perez actually posted a clip of this video.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: You know when it first happened and it went viral and then all this mainstream media started picking up on it.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: People were commenting on both sides, and so he got Adela on his podcast.
- 16:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this is an exclusive Perez Hilton interview, and so we figured you know what.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: Rather than us talk about it, let's talk to Perez.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: So we have Perez on the line with all of his insights and exclusive details.
- 16:55Sean McAllister: Perez, how's it going?
- 16:57Perez Hilton: I'm wonderfully busy, excited to chat with you guys about a topic that I think has resonated with so many people, because twofold One, many folks love going to see shows and, secondly, we could all picture ourselves in that situation.
- 17:18Perez Hilton: What would we have done differently?
- 17:20Perez Hilton: How would we have responded?
- 17:22Perez Hilton: What are our thoughts?
- 17:24Perez Hilton: So it's a moment in time with a lot of backstory and context that I think has really engaged people.
- 17:33Perez Hilton: Plus, since that went massively viral, it was reminded to me that Miranda Lambert is somebody who gets a strong reaction out of people and I don't necessarily think that's fair.
- 17:49Perez Hilton: When talking about what happened at her show this past weekend, where she reprimanded some women for taking a photo during a slow song, it's just unfortunate everything.
- 18:06Perez Hilton: I think the way she expressed herself was unfortunate.
- 18:10Perez Hilton: The response that I've seen from some people has been unnecessary.
- 18:15Perez Hilton: Personally, I've tried to be fair and present all sides.
- 18:21Perez Hilton: For example, I shared a video with more context where it was alleged that the women in this group were using flash and taking photos for not just a second, but it was a disruptive extended moment, and I do believe there is certain concert etiquette, one of which, for me at least, is don't take flash photography.
- 18:52Perez Hilton: But having said that, I see both sides.
- 18:56Perez Hilton: Maybe the flash went off by mistake automatically.
- 19:01Perez Hilton: Maybe they just handed the phone to a friend and they forgot to turn off the flash.
- 19:06Perez Hilton: There's so many variables at play, and I ultimately think, though, it's only going to help Miranda Lambert.
- 19:17Perez Hilton: Well, I was going to ask you no press is bad press right.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: All of a sudden, we all know Miranda Lambert has a show in Vegas.
- 19:24Perez Hilton: Exactly, I'm old school.
- 19:26Perez Hilton: I really do believe that, and a lot of the people like I mentioned and I wanted to mention that on purpose a lot of the people that have been expressing very negative feelings, are people who probably would never go to a Miranda Lambert show in the first place because they don't like her personality, their team, Blake Shelton, this, that or the other.
- 19:44Perez Hilton: And what's interesting is, you know, I don't dislike her.
- 19:50Perez Hilton: I wouldn't say I'm a fan either, but I went to her show and a few months ago I gave it a great review.
- 19:57Perez Hilton: So, yeah, this moment happened.
- 19:59Perez Hilton: It was unfortunate.
- 20:01Perez Hilton: I don't think other artists would respond that way, and I've since learned that she's done this before at other shows.
- 20:10Perez Hilton: You know, she just doesn't like photos or video being taken during certain songs.
- 20:17Perez Hilton: Perhaps, you know, if it's a ballad, maybe she's like pay attention to me.
- 20:20Perez Hilton: Now, If it's an uptempo, raucous number, that's what you could take a photo.
- 20:23Perez Hilton: But if that's going to bother you so much, then you know, institute the no phone policy that some artists do.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or say it before the show or before that song.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: You know what, guys, I know you want.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: I'll want your pictures.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: This song is real special to me.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: Let's immerse in this together.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: Put the phones down.
- 20:43Perez Hilton: Yeah, that's a great suggestion.
- 20:45Perez Hilton: I would speculate, however, that the powers that be would not let Miranda Institute the no phone policy, because she's not Garth Brooks and she's not Bruno Mars.
- 21:02Perez Hilton: When I went to see her, it was a decent amount of people there, but it was far from sold out, and the best, easiest, most organic way to sell tickets is with fans taking photo and video and sharing it on social media.
- 21:18Perez Hilton: So the powers that be want fans to take photos and videos.
- 21:23Perez Hilton: They're happy about that.
- 21:25Perez Hilton: Of course, they would prefer for fans to do it as discreetly and unobtrusively as possible, and I think in this situation, after having spoken to this woman, a few things are apparent.
- 21:39Perez Hilton: She is a huge asset to Las Vegas in that she's one of those locals that goes to see every show.
- 21:48Perez Hilton: I asked her what she's got coming up and she was listing I'm going to this concert, that comedy show, this fight.
- 21:55Perez Hilton: She shows up, and I also was just curious, because I'm a naturally, you know, curious person.
- 22:03Perez Hilton: I asked her did she get her tickets for free?
- 22:06Perez Hilton: That might change my view of things.
- 22:09Perez Hilton: But no, she paid for the tickets.
- 22:10Perez Hilton: She paid for those very expensive VIP upfront tickets, and just because you did that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want, but just gives more context.
- 22:23Perez Hilton: And, as she explained to me, it was just all a case of unfortunate timing.
- 22:28Perez Hilton: You know she, like maybe a lot of people that go see Miranda Lambert in Vegas, was not a big Miranda fan.
- 22:35Perez Hilton: She just goes to see almost everything in Vegas.
- 22:39Perez Hilton: She was familiar with some of her music but decided that she wanted to get a photo with her friends and they went to take their photo during the end of this one song and then, after they were taking the photo of the song finished, she said, and then the lights went off and they couldn't get the good photo.
- 22:56Perez Hilton: So then they waited for the next song to try to get a good photo, and that's when it was the ballad and that's when Miranda called them out.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: Right, and you know they were dressed nice.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know they put effort in.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: So you look at it and you're like, oh it's sweet, kind of you know and so.
- 23:12Dayna Roselli: But I knew once I commented under your post when I saw the video and I just keep getting like like I don't know, I've got like a million alerts from that comment, 200 and whatever 80 likes.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: But and I was saying it is, you know, part of the context.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: You actually, you know, spoke to her to get kind of her side and hearing that it was a short window of time and they really just wanted the picture.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: And I must say, and you probably feel this way too when you go to these concerts, they are right about sometimes, you, it's hard to get a picture of the artist depending on the lighting on stage, and if they felt like this is our one moment.
- 23:47Perez Hilton: Especially because the way that the Miranda show is, there is the main stage and then the B stage or satellite stage, and you know you, as a VVIP, want to take advantage of those moments where she's super close to you.
- 24:02Perez Hilton: You know I wasn't there, I didn't get to see the women but, like I said, to play devil's advocate or give all sides of the picture, there were some people who claim that the women were being disruptive and obnoxious.
- 24:17Sean McAllister: I'm not.
- 24:18Perez Hilton: I'm not sure.
- 24:18Perez Hilton: If that's the case, then I would have thought that security would have intervened before Miranda would have even, or isn't that security's job, that is security's job.
- 24:30Perez Hilton: That's not Miranda Lambert's job to do that and how she did it.
- 24:33Perez Hilton: It's just left a bad taste in my mouth, you know.
- 24:36Perez Hilton: And then I saw even more video.
- 24:39Perez Hilton: It wasn't just her humiliating them in public, scolding them, reprimanding them.
- 24:45Perez Hilton: Then she like the way she moved her hands it was so pedantic and just looking down upon them Like some of her friends left.
- 24:55Perez Hilton: She told me she decided to stay but wasn't a really bad mood after it all happened and understandably I don't think I would have stayed like that.
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: I know you for, as you wouldn't have stayed.
- 25:08Perez Hilton: I would have not stayed at all.
- 25:10Perez Hilton: You would never.
- 25:11Perez Hilton: You would have stayed.
- 25:12Perez Hilton: I don't, probably not probably not.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: I don't think I would have stayed.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: It would have been.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: What about you, Sean?
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: No, I would have left.
- 25:22Sean McAllister: I would have said you know what, if you don't want me to, if you're not going to respect me and listen, here's my thing.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: I don't.
- 25:32Sean McAllister: From what I have seen of the incident, it didn't just have to be a bad thing.
- 25:35Sean McAllister: It didn't seem like those women were intentionally trying to be disrespectful to Miranda.
- 25:41Sean McAllister: If they were if I mean we've had all these incidents of people throwing items at artists I mean they weren't throwing anything.
- 25:49Sean McAllister: I can see how a flash would be disruptive.
- 25:53Sean McAllister: I totally understand that.
- 25:55Sean McAllister: You know there should not be flash photography during a show like that, any production, because it is distracting.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: But I mean a picture is not super disrespectful.
- 26:09Sean McAllister: Were they drunk?
- 26:10Sean McAllister: Were?
- 26:10Perez Hilton: they being loud.
- 26:11Perez Hilton: You know, like I don't think they were being drunk and loud, it wasn't that situation.
- 26:16Perez Hilton: And also, you know, even if she would have gotten the tickets for free, like I went to see Miranda and I didn't pay, I was the guest of somebody and my time is palatable you know, Like if I chose to be at your show, like that says something and you know it is what it is, but I don't think it'll hurt ticket sales, like I think it'll only help.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: I wonder.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: I wonder, yeah, because Sean and I were saying, like you were saying, at Carrie Underwood she kind of had a fun moment and I was thinking about other artists.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: They might be like you know what you guys stop.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: They might have fun with it.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: I could see like a gosh and I know Gwen Stefani is a bad example because of Miranda but I'm just thinking.
- 26:56Dayna Roselli: Like Gwen would probably be.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: Like, these girls want a picture.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: I'm just going to come to the end of the stage.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: Why don't we take this?
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Let's do it and then let's move on with the song, so we can.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: All you know would have had like a little bit more fun with it, and I even think if Miranda would have said I love y'all, I'm glad you're here, I love that you want pictures, but I want everyone to be involved in this one.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: I'm going to pause and start over.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: She did, you're right, it was just handled in the wrong way.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: It was the way that it was.
- 27:22Sean McAllister: Yes, it was completely in the way that it was handled.
- 27:24Sean McAllister: I mean, she could have easily said ladies, I know you want that picture.
- 27:28Sean McAllister: I'll scoot down to the to the end of the stage in just a few minutes.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: But, like Dana just said, let's all be in this song together right now.
- 27:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, which I mean.
- 27:38Sean McAllister: That's a nice way of doing it.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: You don't need to be nasty to the people who are paying to come and support you.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: And if it were an outdoor concert, you know, would have been a totally different ballgame.
- 27:52Perez Hilton: And, like I said earlier, you know you should be thanking these people on multiple fronts, like I don't know about you guys, but oh, I went to go see Taylor Swift in concert, but I keep seeing her show all over my socials, oh my gosh every day.
- 28:08Perez Hilton: And you know, if her show was struggling to sell which it's not sold out in stadiums across the world you know that footage really would help give people the sense of FOMO and make sure that, oh, I gotta get my tickets, I gotta go see them, you know.
- 28:22Perez Hilton: But you know, hopefully other artists see this, or hopefully the people behind the Miranda show see this and say, well, let's, let's think about a solution for the future, going forward, so we don't have another incident like this.
- 28:42Perez Hilton: There's lots of different scenarios that could be played out that don't even involve locking in your phone.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: Totally.
- 28:50Perez Hilton: An announcement that's made like no flash photography, or even she.
- 28:54Perez Hilton: You know she might like Garth Brooks.
- 28:57Perez Hilton: He doesn't allow anything during his phone and I wish he would at least just for like one song.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: Well, I know you and I talked about that because you asked Sean and I went and I said I kind of liked putting my phone away.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: You were like, but I want, you would want something, yeah.
- 29:13Perez Hilton: And I feel like if people get were given that ability right, keep your phone locked up until the last two songs, even I feel like most of the people there, like 95%, would respect that, and then for the last two songs they take out their phone and that'd be great.
- 29:31Perez Hilton: It's like the best of both worlds for 95% of the show who have no phones.
- 29:35Perez Hilton: And then for the last two songs, people get to have their moment that they want to remember forever, and that even and also it's not even about remembering the moment forever the main reason people capture photo and video and shows is to make their friends and family and coworkers jealous.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: Like I'm here.
- 29:53Dayna Roselli: It's not about them remembering the moment forever.
- 29:56Perez Hilton: It's to make other people jealous.
- 29:58Perez Hilton: Let's call a spade a spade.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean that is funny.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: That's true, that's true.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: And I am going to point out that Sean and I did go to Miranda Lambert as well on the media night and saw the show.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: I had never, ever, seen her perform before, didn't know a lot of her music and I thought, you know she was talented and it was a good show.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Felt a little bit more like a concert than a Vegas show to me, but I thought you know what it was packed.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: These people love Miranda.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: They're here to, just you know, watch her play and listen to her sing and love her music and it is what it is.
- 30:31Dayna Roselli: But I think you're right, this might help ticket sales, unless the fans are angry enough to say I'm turning in my Miranda tickets, I'm not going.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know, it'll be interesting.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: I have a friend going tomorrow night, so she'll let me know.
- 30:45Perez Hilton: Yeah, I don't think so, because the country music fans that are buying tickets for the average casual concert goer that maybe swayed and bought tickets the day of perhaps, but I feel like the majority of her ticket sales are her real fans and people in country music, and those folks at this point in her career, they know who she is, what she's all about, they love the music enough and even if they may not like this or that or the other, about whatever, they'll probably still go to the show anyways because after a certain point where you become this legacy artist, the songs aren't even about the artist anymore.
- 31:27Perez Hilton: It's about you and your relationship to the songs and your memories that you made over the decades with the music.
- 31:35Perez Hilton: So, like perfect example, britney Spears.
- 31:38Perez Hilton: That Vegas show of Britney Spears was incredibly successful and people bought tickets knowing she wasn't at 100%, knowing that she was lip syncing and knowing that she was kind of just going through the motions.
- 31:53Perez Hilton: And yet they still went and had a great time because the songs and the memories and the experiences were more about them than they were even about Britney.
- 32:02Dayna Roselli: They wanted that pick with Britney in the background.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: Exactly Sean got called up on stage, didn't you?
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: For the Britney show.
- 32:09Sean McAllister: I did.
- 32:09Sean McAllister: You were one of the ones I was putting the harness and walked on a leash.
- 32:12Perez Hilton: Yeah, I did that as well.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: We need a side by side, my proudest moments.
- 32:19Sean McAllister: I mean, who knows, maybe Miranda's creating a new genre of live performance here.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: There's those restaurants where your server insults you and is rude to you.
- 32:29Sean McAllister: Maybe this is that kind of show?
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, pres, how can we listen to the interview with you?
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: And, adele, we go to your Patreon.
- 32:38Perez Hilton: Yes, patreoncom.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: And you're enjoying doing that.
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: You're doing breaking news updates now, right.
- 32:46Perez Hilton: Yeah, it's podcasting, as I'm sure you've heard, you've been doing it.
- 32:52Perez Hilton: It's incredibly difficult to monetize.
- 32:58Perez Hilton: I like to be honest.
- 33:00Perez Hilton: So, we've been doing our show perezpodcastcom for eight years and we have a very loyal audience, and obviously not everybody's signed up for the Patreon, but people that have been enjoying us for years want to support and it's been awesome.
- 33:17Perez Hilton: It's far exceeded our expectations of signups.
- 33:20Perez Hilton: So we're so thankful for everybody and it really motivates us to work even harder and do more to make sure that we're really keeping our supporters happy.
- 33:29Perez Hilton: So that's where I put up that interview, and maybe tonight or later or tomorrow I might post the video elsewhere, but for the majority of the day the exclusive was on my Patreon, or will be or has been.
- 33:41Perez Hilton: So, yeah, check that out or just check out perezpodcastcom.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: Well, we want to have a longer chat with you at some point.
- 33:50Dayna Roselli: We've been waiting because us too, we're working on doing more video and stuff like that and we have so many things to discuss with you.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: We love that you move to Las Vegas.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: I just want to ask real quick before we go are you enjoying living in Las Vegas?
- 34:03Perez Hilton: I am.
- 34:04Perez Hilton: I love it.
- 34:04Perez Hilton: I don't even mind the heat in the summer.
- 34:06Perez Hilton: We would rather live in a place with extreme heat than extreme cold.
- 34:10Perez Hilton: Yeah, I was going to say.
- 34:12Sean McAllister: I like how you ask that at a time when we're like 120 degrees.
- 34:15Perez Hilton: How do you like?
- 34:16Sean McAllister: living here, perez.
- 34:17Sean McAllister: It's great and also you can just stay indoors when it's that hot.
- 34:20Perez Hilton: Exactly, I find the heat healing.
- 34:23Perez Hilton: There's something really healing I like when it's that hot, I mean obviously I'm going to want to be outside for long periods of time.
- 34:31Perez Hilton: I felt like I was dying during the 4th of July parade because I was, even though we were under a tent, like we were at the beginning of the tent, so the sun was direct.
- 34:43Perez Hilton: But every morning I just like going out and sitting out and working outside for a little bit.
- 34:49Perez Hilton: I just love Vegas and I love the people, the people who make Vegas great.
- 34:53Perez Hilton: Yeah.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: I agree, and we moved here so long ago and I thought I was coming in for two years and I never left.
- 35:00Dayna Roselli: So I'm glad you moved here and we definitely want to talk to you more about family activities and kids activities.
- 35:07Dayna Roselli: I know you do a lot of things with the kids and we've had a couple of people write us and say I want to hear what we can do with our family.
- 35:12Dayna Roselli: So we're like, ok, we've got to ask Perez all about that.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: You've been having fun with the fam.
- 35:16Dayna Roselli: I know that.
- 35:17Perez Hilton: Yes, yes, well, we'll chat all about it when we do a bigger thing, all right.
- 35:23Dayna Roselli: But we had to call you up to talk about this because I know you've been on it since the beginning.
- 35:27Perez Hilton: Well, thank you All right.
- 35:29Perez Hilton: Well, it was great chatting and I'll see you guys soon.
- 35:32Sean McAllister: All right, Perez.
- 35:32Sean McAllister: Thanks so much.
- 35:33Sean McAllister: Appreciate it.
- 35:34Perez Hilton: Thank you, of course.
- 35:35Perez Hilton: Bye, bye, bye.
- 35:37Sean McAllister: It was great to chat with Perez and hear his insights and some of the details from his exclusive interview.
- 35:45Sean McAllister: I think what it really boils down to is that people are paying a ticket price to be there, have their own experience at a concert, and if artists don't like the fact that people are using their phones, there are options to not have phones available Right.
- 36:04Dayna Roselli: We've done it many, many times right Bruno Mars, kevin Hart, chris Rock.
- 36:08Dayna Roselli: I had to put my phone away for all of those shows.
- 36:12Sean McAllister: And Garth Brooks.
- 36:12Dayna Roselli: We do for Garth Brooks, garth Brooks as well, yeah, so great to chat with Perez and, again, we'll talk to Perez for a longer time In the future.
- 36:19Dayna Roselli: Check out his podcast and get all the latest Celeb Gossip, All right.
- 36:24Dayna Roselli: So the other night we went to a happy hour and let me tell ya, it was done right, because they ordered us an Uber for this one.
- 36:30Dayna Roselli: So I thought, oh my gosh, it's Monday night, like you know.
- 36:33Sean McAllister: Right.
- 36:34Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 36:35Dayna Roselli: So anyway, and we were like wait, what's going on here?
- 36:38Dayna Roselli: But it was so much fun and we were there to try a whiskey that is actually made up in Northern Nevada, so they're part of our community.
- 36:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's called Frey Ranch Whiskey.
- 36:50Sean McAllister: This is the bottle.
- 36:51Sean McAllister: You can get it in several states.
- 36:53Sean McAllister: You can order online, have it shipped directly to you.
- 36:56Sean McAllister: But they just launched this new farm strength uncut version which is like straight from the barrel no, none of the cold filtering or any of that and it's good.
- 37:08Dayna Roselli: It is good.
- 37:09Sean McAllister: This stuff has become really popular with whiskey aficionados all around the world, and it's exciting.
- 37:17Sean McAllister: The Frey family has over 160 years of a farming experience up in Northern Nevada and in 2006, colby and his wife, ashley, started this whiskey brand, and so they have just taken off.
- 37:36Sean McAllister: I love that it's a Nevada whiskey, which you don't really hear about people doing homegrown whiskies from this state.
- 37:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm not a big whiskey drinker, any dark colored liquors but there were some cocktails that we tried where it was a mix and I really enjoyed those a lot, especially the one that had the little froth on top.
- 37:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, the paper crane.
- 37:56Dayna Roselli: Yes, that was good.
- 37:57Dayna Roselli: That was good.
- 37:58Dayna Roselli: So we had a fabulous time and we support anything local, we love it, and they just seemed really excited about what they're doing and loved sharing their story with us.
- 38:08Dayna Roselli: So we appreciate a happy hour that has a story behind it and we just thought what a great idea.
- 38:14Dayna Roselli: We went over to Sparrow and Wolf, which is a great restaurant on Spring Mountain in Las Vegas, took our Uber there and took our Uber home and yeah, I was tipsy by the time I left.
- 38:24Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna lie.
- 38:24Sean McAllister: I know my only complaint with the Uber is that the ride there the driver had the plexiglass wall up between the front and back seats and it was 115 and none of the air conditioned.
- 38:39Sean McAllister: There were no back vents and none of the air was coming to the back and we were dying.
- 38:44Sean McAllister: It felt like we were in a greenhouse.
- 38:46Dayna Roselli: That is awful and I told you you need to report that on the Uber app.
- 38:49Dayna Roselli: They wanna know about that stuff.
- 38:50Dayna Roselli: That should not be allowed.
- 38:54Sean McAllister: So you gotta report the driver.
- 38:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that is not okay, so, but my Uber driver was good.
- 39:01Dayna Roselli: We talked all about Corey Feldman, the conversation we had in our last podcast.
- 39:05Dayna Roselli: We were talking about the Corey's growing up and their movies and he's remember they had this hotline where you could call him like.
- 39:11Sean McAllister: I don't remember the hotline but that has sparked quite the conversation online and elsewhere.
- 39:16Dayna Roselli: Corey Feldman.
- 39:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we have some great posts about that on our social media channels and the comments are funny.
- 39:24Dayna Roselli: Apparently, a couple of people asked us like how did you not know about this?
- 39:28Dayna Roselli: Or like everyone knows about this, and I was like everyone does not know about this because we didn't, we didn't and people who we've spoken with didn't know.
- 39:36Sean McAllister: So not everybody knows.
- 39:38Dayna Roselli: Not everybody knows that Corey Feldman sings, doesn't just act, he's got a band or a group or he's a singer and he's gonna be performing at the Sand Dollar at the Plaza in November.
- 39:48Dayna Roselli: So we'll find out.
- 39:49Dayna Roselli: We're kind of all like now we gotta go just for the experience.
- 39:52Sean McAllister: I know.
- 39:53Dayna Roselli: It's like 20 bucks.
- 39:54Sean McAllister: It'll be fun, it'll be something to talk about, it sure will.
- 39:58Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 39:58Dayna Roselli: Well, hey, let's do some tips.
- 40:00Dayna Roselli: ["dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"].
- 40:04Dayna Roselli: All right for one of our tips today.
- 40:06Dayna Roselli: I thought this was interesting.
- 40:08Dayna Roselli: A new hotel just opened and I think new is always good.
- 40:12Dayna Roselli: For some people it's not on the strip, but a lot of people also say, hey, talk to us about things that are off the strip, and I think this is really great because it's off the strip, but it's not too far for folks who might want to come into town to see a game, to see a sporting event, or maybe they're gonna do some business, go to a convention.
- 40:29Dayna Roselli: It doesn't have a casino or anything like that, but it's called Spring Hill Suites and I love this, sean.
- 40:35Dayna Roselli: It's 127 rooms, it's all suites and they have get this complimentary hot breakfast daily, in-room microwaves.
- 40:43Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 40:44Dayna Roselli: Mini refrigerators, in-suite workstations with free wifi and the three-in-one sofa trundle.
- 40:51Dayna Roselli: So, I love it.
- 40:52Dayna Roselli: They also have a dining room, meeting space, pool and hot tub, fitness center and 24-hour marketplace.
- 40:59Dayna Roselli: It's also pet-friendly A lot of people, people come into town and they say I need to bring my dog.
- 41:05Sean McAllister: I know we always look for places when we're going out of town that are pet-friendly, and it's really difficult to find good spots.
- 41:12Sean McAllister: It is.
- 41:13Dayna Roselli: So I love this.
- 41:13Dayna Roselli: It's called Spring Hill Suites.
- 41:15Dayna Roselli: It is now open and it's at 215 Indicator, so you're good at better explaining directions.
- 41:21Dayna Roselli: It's to the west of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 41:24Sean McAllister: But just barely.
- 41:25Sean McAllister: It's like at the 215 I-15 interchange, essentially.
- 41:29Sean McAllister: So if you go in one direction you have easy access to Las Vegas Boulevard and Town Square, which is a whole bunch of dining retail.
- 41:41Sean McAllister: If you go up Las Vegas Boulevard a little more, you get to Mandalay Bay and all that.
- 41:47Sean McAllister: So that's super close.
- 41:49Sean McAllister: If you go further west on the 215, you get to Durango, which is where Durango Station is gonna be opening, that's where Uncommons is, which has even more retail and dining options.
- 42:02Sean McAllister: So that location Decatur in 215, is a really convenient spot If you are coming to town to stay and you want convenient access.
- 42:12Sean McAllister: That's not directly on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 42:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it sounds great, so I'm excited to have this option for people.
- 42:19Dayna Roselli: It's also close to the airport and that's always a perk too.
- 42:23Dayna Roselli: Some people come in for business or just overnight and they just wanna be close to the airport.
- 42:27Dayna Roselli: Like I've gotta come in, I've gotta do this on the Strip or this somewhere else and then I gotta leave tomorrow.
- 42:33Dayna Roselli: And they just wanna be close.
- 42:36Sean McAllister: Actually one of my buddies from back in Rochester.
- 42:40Sean McAllister: He is big in the IT world and you know Switch, which is a big company that does a lot of technology stuff.
- 42:50Sean McAllister: I think they do a lot of storage memory things and I'm sure that someone's gonna write us and tell us that that is completely not the right way to explain what they do, but they do like technology, big technology stuff.
- 43:06Sean McAllister: That's important for a lot of companies and I know my buddy has to come in and work on some of those machines and so this is really close to where Switch is, so you know all the people who are involved in that world.
- 43:21Sean McAllister: This is a convenient option too.
- 43:23Dayna Roselli: Really good.
- 43:24Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, spring Hill Suites.
