- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkgirl Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:25Speaker 1: the hawkrel energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:29Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am definitely
- 0:36Speaker 1: feeling very fault today. It is the gloomiest day ever.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Today.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I'm literally curled up on my couch, which I never
- 0:45Speaker 1: record my episodes on my couch, Like usually I'm sitting
- 0:48Speaker 1: at a desk with my microphone setup all that today
- 0:53Speaker 1: was just not the day. I was like, I need
- 0:56Speaker 1: to be on the couch with my blankets, just like
- 0:58Speaker 1: cozied up and recording this episode because it's one of
- 1:02Speaker 1: those days. You guys know that whenever it's a gloomy day,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I feel like everyone can agree with this is just
- 1:07Speaker 1: cozying up on a couch by the fire with a
- 1:09Speaker 1: candlelight with your blanket is just.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Giving fall cozy vibes.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And just honestly, I could put on Harry Potter right
- 1:18Speaker 1: now or Twilight, like just some type of fall show
- 1:21Speaker 1: and it would completely just make my day or even
- 1:23Speaker 1: like a book, like just chilling on the couch reading
- 1:26Speaker 1: a book, listening to a podcast.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Whatever the case may be.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm just having one of those mornings where i need
- 1:31Speaker 1: to be on the couch, just chilling, and I'm loving
- 1:35Speaker 1: every second of it. I will say though, that this
- 1:37Speaker 1: is also kind of a downside to fall, is having
- 1:40Speaker 1: more gloomier days like this. I find having gloomy days
- 1:45Speaker 1: is okay, and I know some people love that and it,
- 1:48Speaker 1: you know, forces yourself to relax. And you know, don't
- 1:51Speaker 1: get me wrong, I'm okay with one gloomy day a week,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and you know, it forces myself to you know, relax,
- 1:57Speaker 1: rest enjoy, you know, not leaving the house and just
- 2:01Speaker 1: getting some stuff done in the house. But I do
- 2:04Speaker 1: also feel like when it is gloomy, I feel a
- 2:07Speaker 1: little lazy, and I feel like I don't allow myself
- 2:11Speaker 1: to be lazy. I feel like I'm always that kind
- 2:13Speaker 1: of person that needs to be productive and needs to
- 2:15Speaker 1: get stuff done when I know my body needs to
- 2:18Speaker 1: relax and needs the rest. So I don't know, I
- 2:21Speaker 1: just feel like sometimes I don't get stuff done when
- 2:23Speaker 1: the weather's like this, Like when it comes to work,
- 2:26Speaker 1: when it comes to personal things all that, and I'm
- 2:28Speaker 1: sure a lot of people can relate to that. So
- 2:31Speaker 1: when it's gloomy for too many days in a row,
- 2:33Speaker 1: it really impacts my mental health because sometimes I just
- 2:37Speaker 1: need a sunny day to get out of the house,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you know, get stuff done and be productive, where when
- 2:44Speaker 1: the weather's like this consistently, it's hard. So I think
- 2:47Speaker 1: that's a con to fall. And you guys know how
- 2:49Speaker 1: much you love the fall season. It's literally my favorite season.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But I would say that's one of the cons is
- 2:54Speaker 1: just having those gloomier times. And I think another one
- 2:59Speaker 1: too is the darker morning. So waking up at six thirty,
- 3:04Speaker 1: which is what I did this morning, and that's kind
- 3:06Speaker 1: of why I wanted to touch on it, and it
- 3:09Speaker 1: was very, very difficult to get out of bed. So
- 3:13Speaker 1: for you guys that are working those eight am shifts
- 3:15Speaker 1: or nine am shifts and have to wake up early,
- 3:17Speaker 1: or if you guys wake up early to get a
- 3:19Speaker 1: workout session and all that.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Go, you you are amazing.
- 3:22Speaker 1: That is truly a superhuman in my opinion, Like waking
- 3:27Speaker 1: up when it's that dark out is very difficult and
- 3:31Speaker 1: you definitely need that extra motivation to push yourself out
- 3:34Speaker 1: of bed to do it.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And you know, as you guys know.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I work for myself, so I have the flexibility, which
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'm very grateful for to kind of start work when
- 3:43Speaker 1: I want. But I will say, you know, having an
- 3:46Speaker 1: earlier start, I do feel the most productive on those days.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So today I knew I had a busy day, and
- 3:52Speaker 1: so I decided to book a six thirty workout class,
- 3:54Speaker 1: which don't get me wrong, I do not regret it.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It was amazing. It was a great workout.
- 3:58Speaker 1: But I will say there there was a moment when
- 4:02Speaker 1: I woke up this morning where I almost just didn't
- 4:04Speaker 1: go to the workout class because I was so mentally
- 4:08Speaker 1: exhausted and I was like, I do not want to
- 4:10Speaker 1: get to bed right now. Plus on top of that,
- 4:13Speaker 1: as I said, it's a rainy day today. So waking
- 4:16Speaker 1: up leaving my house at six point fifteen with it
- 4:20Speaker 1: down pouring on me to go to this SPINCOA class
- 4:23Speaker 1: was very difficult, but we got through it. It was
- 4:25Speaker 1: great workout, it was great sweat. I feel good doing it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But yeah, I think that's one thing that's super hard
- 4:31Speaker 1: during the fall and winter season is just the dark
- 4:34Speaker 1: mornings and the dark night, so it's getting dark at
- 4:37Speaker 1: like I think six pm. Now in the winter it's
- 4:40Speaker 1: usually around five pm, which really sucks. And then you know,
- 4:45Speaker 1: with the mornings, as I said, it's getting light out,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't think till like seven seven thirty.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I think it's when it's starting to get light out.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But yeah, so I just feel like the early mornings
- 4:56Speaker 1: for me are definitely difficult, and I'm sure it's difficult
- 4:59Speaker 1: for a lot of people, but I feel like in
- 5:00Speaker 1: the summertime it's different. Like I want to be a
- 5:03Speaker 1: six thirty girl in the summer because I love watching
- 5:07Speaker 1: the sunrise. I find it very therapeutic. I find it
- 5:09Speaker 1: very motivating to get workouts done early in the morning
- 5:12Speaker 1: and being done by seven thirty and getting stuff done.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But in the fall, I don't think it's going to
- 5:17Speaker 1: be a daily thing for me. I think it might
- 5:19Speaker 1: be like a weekly thing or a bi weekly thing.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Like when I do have busier days, I will make,
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know, a six thirty workout class a priority, But
- 5:27Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel personally exhausted right now and
- 5:30Speaker 1: I feel like I need a coffee right now, and
- 5:32Speaker 1: I never have a coffee before breakfast. Like it's eight
- 5:36Speaker 1: am right now, and I usually don't have a coffee
- 5:39Speaker 1: until like ten ten thirty. I like to have it
- 5:43Speaker 1: after my breakfast just because I don't like having coffee
- 5:47Speaker 1: before eating, just because it spikes my anxiety and my stress.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But I usually have one later in the morning, but
- 5:52Speaker 1: because I'm so tired from waking up early, I'm like.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I feel like I need the caffeine now.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But anyways, all in all, I think there is some
- 6:00Speaker 1: to fall and that's, you know, something that we all
- 6:03Speaker 1: have to adjust to going into this new season, because
- 6:06Speaker 1: it is an adjustment. It's hard to remotivate yourself to
- 6:10Speaker 1: get outside to get those early morning workouts and later
- 6:13Speaker 1: night workouts in whatever the case may be, and you know,
- 6:16Speaker 1: push through those gloomy days and when you're feeling unmotivated, Like,
- 6:20Speaker 1: what are things that can prepare yourself for these changes?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Like how can you boost your motivation during these gloomy times?
- 6:27Speaker 1: How can you you know, boost your motivation to get
- 6:30Speaker 1: out of the house when it's dark. So thinking about
- 6:32Speaker 1: myself this morning, like I had a period of time
- 6:35Speaker 1: where I thought I was going to cancel the class,
- 6:37Speaker 1: but then I motivated myself because I think about the after,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I think about how good I feel after the fact
- 6:43Speaker 1: of doing that workout.
- 6:44Speaker 2: So I just push myself.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I just do it, and I feel so good after
- 6:49Speaker 1: the fact. I will say, also, you don't want to
- 6:51Speaker 1: lose that fifteen dollars that you're going to get charged,
- 6:54Speaker 1: like that's also a motivation, Like you don't want to
- 6:56Speaker 1: get charged to fee. So I don't know, I personally
- 6:59Speaker 1: think booking a workout class is a motivation right there,
- 7:03Speaker 1: because you don't want to lose your money, and it
- 7:06Speaker 1: pushes yourself to get out of the house and get
- 7:08Speaker 1: that workout done. And then you come home and you
- 7:11Speaker 1: feel good knowing that you got that sweat out, and yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you just feel more productive and more motivated to continue
- 7:17Speaker 1: to do other things for yourself throughout the day. So definitely,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think it's a huge change for a lot of people.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And you just have to prepare yourself and think of
- 7:24Speaker 1: ways to motivate yourself and continue to just push through
- 7:29Speaker 1: those gloomy.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Days and all that.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It's all about just motivating yourself and changing your mindset,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and it will take some time, but it will feel
- 7:38Speaker 1: good once you're fully adjusted to this new routine. Like
- 7:41Speaker 1: we talked about in the last episode of just creating
- 7:43Speaker 1: a new fall and winter routine for yourself and just
- 7:46Speaker 1: knowing that it's going to be a bit different than
- 7:48Speaker 1: the summer and that's okay, and it will take some
- 7:50Speaker 1: time to adjust to it, but all in all, it
- 7:52Speaker 1: will all work out and it will feel good. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: now know why I never record on my couch because
- 7:58Speaker 1: my leg is literally a sleep right now and it's numb,
- 8:02Speaker 1: so I'm like trying to stretch it out while talking.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But anyways, I want to talk about stress for a second,
- 8:07Speaker 1: because I do think some people feel a bit more
- 8:10Speaker 1: stressed entering a new season. I personally have been dealing
- 8:12Speaker 1: with a lot of stress recently, just a lot of
- 8:15Speaker 1: things going on with work, and yeah, it's hard to
- 8:19Speaker 1: sometimes manage that, Like I feel like this week. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: had a bit of a burnout the first few days
- 8:25Speaker 1: of this week, just from feeling overly exhausted from almost
- 8:30Speaker 1: pushing myself to do too much. And so I had
- 8:33Speaker 1: to reach out to my manager and said, listen, like
- 8:36Speaker 1: this next month, I need to take a bit of
- 8:38Speaker 1: a step back because I feel like I was doing
- 8:40Speaker 1: too much. In September. I was basically doing August and
- 8:43Speaker 1: September work for one month, so two months worth of
- 8:46Speaker 1: work in one month, which was honestly mentally exhausting. So
- 8:50Speaker 1: going into October, I'm like, I need to vocally say
- 8:54Speaker 1: something and say that listen, I need to take a
- 8:55Speaker 1: bit of a step back this month for my mental
- 8:58Speaker 1: health and just you know, focus on things that I
- 9:03Speaker 1: want to focus on and not just accept anything that
- 9:05Speaker 1: comes at me. Which I'm really proud of myself for
- 9:08Speaker 1: doing that, because I think a lot of people can
- 9:10Speaker 1: relate to this, where of course, you you know, want
- 9:14Speaker 1: to work super hard and get that promotion or whatever
- 9:17Speaker 1: the case you may be for your job, and there's
- 9:20Speaker 1: certain times where you need to really step back and realize,
- 9:23Speaker 1: like are you doing okay? Is your mental health doing
- 9:26Speaker 1: okay during these harder times at work? And you need
- 9:29Speaker 1: to listen to your body. I tell you guys all
- 9:32Speaker 1: the time that that is super crucial for your mental health.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And I knew going into October that I had to
- 9:40Speaker 1: make some change. I just knew that I had to
- 9:42Speaker 1: take a step back for my mental health. And Zach
- 9:46Speaker 1: was even telling me like, hey, I think you're taking
- 9:47Speaker 1: on too much, Like you're constantly working like you really
- 9:50Speaker 1: need to just manage your time better and also just
- 9:53Speaker 1: taking a step back from certain things. So that's what
- 9:56Speaker 1: I decided to do, and I'm really proud of myself
- 9:59Speaker 1: for doing that because obviously you need to be able
- 10:01Speaker 1: to balance your work life and your personal life, and
- 10:03Speaker 1: sometimes I have a hard time doing that because I
- 10:06Speaker 1: love what I do.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I truly, truly have an addiction to my job.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I will be open about that, but there needs to
- 10:12Speaker 1: be a balance with that, and I feel like I
- 10:15Speaker 1: was in a period of time where I wasn't able
- 10:17Speaker 1: to balance that out. So this month, I'm really trying
- 10:20Speaker 1: to take a break, take a step back. But if
- 10:22Speaker 1: you don't have the flexibility to, you know, take a
- 10:25Speaker 1: step back from your job, and you need to find
- 10:27Speaker 1: ways to reduce stress and just yeah, figure out ways
- 10:31Speaker 1: to you know, continuing working through it. I think the
- 10:34Speaker 1: best way to do it is taking a lot of
- 10:36Speaker 1: breaks throughout the day. Maybe it's ten minute breaks, fifteen
- 10:39Speaker 1: minute breaks, twenty minute breaks. I think finding time to
- 10:42Speaker 1: go outside, you know, go get a coffee or literally
- 10:46Speaker 1: just go outside and just sit in silence is a
- 10:48Speaker 1: nice break. There's something about just being in fresh air
- 10:51Speaker 1: that I find very therapeutic, and whenever I feel like
- 10:55Speaker 1: I need a break from my computer or just a
- 10:57Speaker 1: break from work, I find stepping outside walking for ten minutes,
- 11:01Speaker 1: or just as I said, just stepping outside and just
- 11:03Speaker 1: breathing in the fresh air and just completely zoning out
- 11:06Speaker 1: is a nice way to take a break. But you
- 11:09Speaker 1: could also go to a coffee shop, grab a coffee,
- 11:12Speaker 1: or sometimes I love to just put on a YouTube video,
- 11:14Speaker 1: distract myself by tiding up the house a bit, or
- 11:16Speaker 1: making a snack, or grabbing my favorite drink, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: a poppy or an electrolyte or whatever the case. I
- 11:21Speaker 1: be like just taking that time to step aside in
- 11:24Speaker 1: destress from what you're doing, and then having that ten
- 11:27Speaker 1: to fifteen minute break, come back to what you were doing,
- 11:30Speaker 1: and then you will be ten times more productive. I'm
- 11:32Speaker 1: telling you right now, just from taking that ten minute
- 11:34Speaker 1: break to step aside, take time for yourself, come back
- 11:37Speaker 1: focus on what you were doing, You're gonna feel a
- 11:39Speaker 1: million times better. So that's something that really works for
- 11:42Speaker 1: me during stressful times. And sometimes I also find if
- 11:46Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, I have been, you know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: overly stressed lately, I will resort to decaf so I'll
- 11:52Speaker 1: either have a decaf coffee or just not have caffeine
- 11:56Speaker 1: at all throughout the day. I know some people have
- 11:58Speaker 1: honestly switched from car to Macha for their anxiety or
- 12:02Speaker 1: their stress. I have had macha. It's not terrible. I
- 12:06Speaker 1: will say, it's not my favorite thing in the world.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So I haven't made that switch personally because I just
- 12:12Speaker 1: love the taste of coffee. It's not even the caffeine.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I just truly love it. So I can drink a
- 12:16Speaker 1: decab coffee and I personally find it tastes the same.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It tastes great.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So I try and definitely avoid caffeine when I can
- 12:24Speaker 1: when I'm feeling overly stressed or anxious. But yeah, some
- 12:28Speaker 1: of those things I feel like really helped me out
- 12:30Speaker 1: when I feel like I'm going through stressful times. And yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 1: sometimes it is just stressful going into a new season, right,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Like there's some people that are starting at school. So
- 12:39Speaker 1: if you're in college or if you're in high school
- 12:41Speaker 1: and you're going into the new year, obviously sometimes it's
- 12:46Speaker 1: an adjustment.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It's stressful.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Or if you've got a promotion with work and you're
- 12:50Speaker 1: adjusting to a brand new you know, routine and all that. Like,
- 12:54Speaker 1: no matter what, it's definitely something to adjust to and
- 12:57Speaker 1: it's never easy. So finding ways to de stress yourself
- 13:00Speaker 1: and just yeah, find ways to cope with the hard
- 13:05Speaker 1: times is normal and it's relatable, and yeah, those are
- 13:09Speaker 1: just some things that help me out when I'm feeling
- 13:11Speaker 1: overly stressed. I think another thing that I really wanted
- 13:14Speaker 1: to touch on, because this is something that I've been
- 13:16Speaker 1: seeing a lot on social media about is the female
- 13:21Speaker 1: time of the month. And I'm currently on my time
- 13:24Speaker 1: of the month, and you guys know that the first
- 13:27Speaker 1: week is never fun, and I think that's also why
- 13:30Speaker 1: I've just been like stressed, exhausted, lazy, Like it's because
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'm on the time of the month, and I just know,
- 13:36Speaker 1: like that's normal.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And I feel like I've been just being so negative.
- 13:41Speaker 2: And you guys know, I hate being negative.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'm usually very positive always, you know, just chatting with
- 13:47Speaker 1: you guys and being a positive individual. But I've been
- 13:51Speaker 1: so negative on myself, like body image wise and all that,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and like, again, very relatable, women get it, we get bloated.
- 13:59Speaker 1: It's our time of the month. Like why am I
- 14:00Speaker 1: being so hard on myself? Like I just try and
- 14:03Speaker 1: talk to myself and say positive things, saying this is normal.
- 14:07Speaker 2: You are a female.
- 14:08Speaker 1: This shit happens, like, move on, it's your time.
- 14:11Speaker 2: End of the month.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Next week will be better. It's going to be a
- 14:14Speaker 1: better week. So I am all about daily affirmations and
- 14:17Speaker 1: saying positive things, and I feel like that helps me
- 14:19Speaker 1: get out of that negative headspace. But going into the
- 14:23Speaker 1: fact about the time of the month, I quickly just
- 14:27Speaker 1: want to chat on how you guys feel about the
- 14:31Speaker 1: tampons and pad situation. Have you guys heard about this?
- 14:36Speaker 1: I've seen all over my TikTok for you page about
- 14:39Speaker 1: how toxic some of these brands are, which is majority
- 14:44Speaker 1: of the tampon brands and majority of the pad brands.
- 14:47Speaker 2: So tampas play texts? Is it co texts? I think
- 14:52Speaker 2: that's what it is.
- 14:53Speaker 1: But all these popular tampon brands have been I mean
- 14:58Speaker 1: it's not recent studies, but I feel it's been recent
- 15:01Speaker 1: in the social media I about how essentially toxic these
- 15:06Speaker 1: products are that we're using in our bodies. And I
- 15:11Speaker 1: came from a health and wellness company, Like I came
- 15:15Speaker 1: from a very clean and green workspace, so a lot
- 15:20Speaker 1: of the employees that I worked with were like hardcore
- 15:24Speaker 1: green people, and I would always say, I've never been
- 15:29Speaker 1: a hardcore green person. That's just you know, my family
- 15:32Speaker 1: never was really like that. Like I feel like over time,
- 15:35Speaker 1: once I started to work at this company, I really
- 15:37Speaker 1: started to discover certain brands and certain things to avoid.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And I've known about this whole tampon situation for many
- 15:48Speaker 1: years because of this company that I worked for, but
- 15:52Speaker 1: I guess a lot of other people didn't know, and
- 15:55Speaker 1: so seeing it all blow up on social media right
- 15:57Speaker 1: now is definitely like an opening experience for everybody. And
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm happy that these brands are finally like getting recognition
- 16:06Speaker 1: for what they're doing to women's bodies and all that.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But I know there's other resources besides tampons in pads,
- 16:14Speaker 1: Like I don't know if you guys have heard of
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Diva cup. I personally have tried it. I did
- 16:18Speaker 1: not love it. From my own personal experience. There is
- 16:21Speaker 1: always a love hate relationship for a lot of things.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I personally prefer just normal tampons, and I don't use
- 16:30Speaker 1: any of the brands that you see Shoppers or Walmart
- 16:33Speaker 1: or your typical drug store. I usually order mine off.
- 16:37Speaker 1: What is the website called Oh I remember the website
- 16:40Speaker 1: that I use is called HERB and I order natural
- 16:44Speaker 1: tampons by the brand Honey and Pot, and the tampons
- 16:47Speaker 1: have much cleaner ingredients. They're a little bit more on
- 16:51Speaker 1: the price to your side, but I personally would rather
- 16:54Speaker 1: pay an extra seven dollars knowing that the brand that
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm using is non toxic, no chemicals in it anything
- 17:01Speaker 1: like that. So I wanted to briefly chat about that.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I know that's like a topic that some people, you know,
- 17:07Speaker 1: don't really talk about.
- 17:08Speaker 2: But if you are not aware.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Of the tampon situation, do your own research of course,
- 17:14Speaker 1: Like you know, my mom, for an example, has been
- 17:18Speaker 1: using tampacs or whatever for years, Like it's a normal
- 17:23Speaker 1: thing that women have been using for such a long
- 17:25Speaker 1: period of time, and obviously they're fine, there's nothing wrong
- 17:27Speaker 1: with them. So if we've been living this life with
- 17:31Speaker 1: these brands for the past forty to fifty years, obviously
- 17:35Speaker 1: it's fine. However, like if I can make changes myself
- 17:40Speaker 1: and create a healthier lifestyle for myself by making those
- 17:43Speaker 1: small changes, I personally would like to do that for myself.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I know I'm not.
- 17:49Speaker 1: The healthiest individual in the world. And I don't strive
- 17:52Speaker 1: to be the healthiest person in the world, but I
- 17:54Speaker 1: do try to be some type of healthy. And I
- 17:58Speaker 1: want to emphasize that for a second because when I
- 18:01Speaker 1: worked at this health and wellness company before becoming a
- 18:03Speaker 1: full time content creator, one thing we always highlighted at
- 18:07Speaker 1: our workspace was everybody is a different shade of green.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Everybody is a different type.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Of healthy, whether you're the healthiest individual or the darkest
- 18:16Speaker 1: shade of green, meaning that you've completely converted everything in
- 18:19Speaker 1: your home when it comes to makeup, skincare, you know,
- 18:22Speaker 1: cleaning products, whatever the case may be, or if you're
- 18:25Speaker 1: the lightest shade of green, where you've only switched your
- 18:28Speaker 1: cleaning products in your house, and that's it doesn't matter.
- 18:30Speaker 1: As long as you're making the effort by investing in
- 18:33Speaker 1: yourself and you know, getting healthier products for yourself to
- 18:37Speaker 1: better yourself, that's all that matters. So personally, for me
- 18:41Speaker 1: making the switch to you know, organic and non toxic tampons,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and I use all green cleaning products in my home. However,
- 18:50Speaker 1: I don't use green skincare or makeup because it doesn't
- 18:54Speaker 1: work for my skin. I break out my skin just
- 18:57Speaker 1: doesn't react well to it. I had had an actual
- 18:59Speaker 1: lurge reaction to a lot of the products that I
- 19:01Speaker 1: did try. And yeah, so I also just don't think
- 19:05Speaker 1: there's been a brand out there that personally has worked
- 19:09Speaker 1: well enough for me. Like there's a lot of clean
- 19:12Speaker 1: beauty at Sephora, for an example, I wouldn't say a
- 19:15Speaker 1: lot of that is fully green or clean from like
- 19:19Speaker 1: the standards of where I used to work. We just
- 19:23Speaker 1: always knew that Sephora wasn't one hundred percent clean with
- 19:26Speaker 1: their products. However, it is still a better alternative than
- 19:29Speaker 1: most brands that are sold at Sephora. So again, just
- 19:33Speaker 1: taking the effort of doing your own research and making
- 19:35Speaker 1: the switch to certain things in your home or for yourself,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I think is crucial. So yeah, I use all green
- 19:42Speaker 1: cleaning products in my home. I think people don't realize
- 19:44Speaker 1: how toxic cleaning products are because it's the air you
- 19:48Speaker 1: breathe in. And anyways, if you guys want me to
- 19:52Speaker 1: talk about that in the next episode, I could. But
- 19:54Speaker 1: I've learned so much at my previous job, and I
- 19:57Speaker 1: think that's why I have such a strong passion for
- 19:59Speaker 1: health wellness is because what I've learned from my previous
- 20:03Speaker 1: job is crazy, And yeah, I think it's just really
- 20:06Speaker 1: important to invest in yourself and invest in the products
- 20:10Speaker 1: that you're using. So yeah, I just kind of wanted
- 20:12Speaker 1: to talk about the tampon situation because that recently came
- 20:16Speaker 1: to my knowledge about everyone talking about it, and it's
- 20:20Speaker 1: good that people are becoming more aware of it and
- 20:23Speaker 1: speaking about like times of the month and all that.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'm sitting here and I'm like, I need to get
- 20:30Speaker 1: on the Aura ring trend. And the Aura ring has
- 20:33Speaker 1: been around for a while, but it is a big investment.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I'm aware of that.
- 20:36Speaker 1: It's like, I think it's like five hundred dollars for
- 20:38Speaker 1: the ring, and then you have to pay for a subscription.
- 20:41Speaker 1: So it's like, if I'm paying five hundred dollars for
- 20:43Speaker 1: this ring, I'd better be getting everything that I need,
- 20:47Speaker 1: all the info all that. If you have an Aura
- 20:49Speaker 1: ring and you want to sell me on it, please
- 20:51Speaker 1: send me a message and tell me everything you love
- 20:53Speaker 1: about it. I do love the idea about tracking my sleep.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I do love the idea of being able to have
- 21:00Speaker 1: I think it's called natural cycles where you can sync
- 21:03Speaker 1: that up to the Aura ring and you can track
- 21:05Speaker 1: your entire cycle, So I will be fully honest. I
- 21:08Speaker 1: am not on birth control. I do not have an IUD.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I am on nothing. I'm strictly just making sure I
- 21:15Speaker 1: don't get pregnant, So be fully honest.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I'm not at that time of my life.
- 21:20Speaker 1: If you guys follow me on Instagram, you guys know
- 21:22Speaker 1: that I mentioned that I'm not ready to have kids
- 21:24Speaker 1: in this exact moment. However, obviously we'd like to have
- 21:27Speaker 1: kids soon, just not that soon. But I have no
- 21:32Speaker 1: way of tracking my period except for me knowing that
- 21:37Speaker 1: it usually happens in the beginning of the month. So
- 21:39Speaker 1: I want to be better at tracking because obviously Zach
- 21:43Speaker 1: and I we want to eventually start trying and all that,
- 21:46Speaker 1: so I want to be ahead of the schedule and
- 21:49Speaker 1: be able to have something that I can resort to.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But there's also a lot of other amazing things that
- 21:55Speaker 1: the Aura Ring does that I hear amazing things about,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and just benefits and all that, So I don't know,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I really want to get it for Christmas, to be honest,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I feel like that'd be a really good Christmas gift idea,
- 22:06Speaker 1: And yeah, I want to hear your thoughts. I do
- 22:08Speaker 1: also hear though that the Gold ring turnishes. Please tell
- 22:12Speaker 1: me if that has happened for you or not, because
- 22:14Speaker 1: bumping five hundred dollars for a ring and it turnishes,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I feel like that's kind of upsetting because obviously I
- 22:20Speaker 1: want the ring to be in good condition. I have
- 22:23Speaker 1: also seen an influencer briefly chat about the Amazon dupe
- 22:28Speaker 1: to the Aura Ring that apparently does a lot of
- 22:32Speaker 1: similar things. I don't know if it does everything the same,
- 22:35Speaker 1: but apparently it's like not even one hundred bucks, and
- 22:38Speaker 1: it has an app and it has an entire system
- 22:40Speaker 1: of tracking your sleep, your cycles and all that, but
- 22:42Speaker 1: you don't have to pay a subscription, which almost seems
- 22:45Speaker 1: too good to be true. I just don't know if
- 22:47Speaker 1: I should cave into that dupe effect, Like I don't
- 22:50Speaker 1: think dupes are always the greatest, like sometimes they are.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I will agree to that, but for the Aura Ring,
- 22:56Speaker 1: I feel like I will be shocked if it's as
- 22:59Speaker 1: good as the Aura Ring. But anyways, would love to
- 23:01Speaker 1: hear your thoughts on that because that's something I really
- 23:04Speaker 1: really want to get, and I think I've mentioned it
- 23:06Speaker 1: in a previous podcast episode that I want to get it.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It just wasn't the right time to get it because
- 23:11Speaker 1: it was before the wedding, and obviously five hundred dollars
- 23:13Speaker 1: is a lot of money, so I just didn't want
- 23:15Speaker 1: to drop that on a ring if I didn't need
- 23:18Speaker 1: it in that exact moment. Now that the wedding's over,
- 23:20Speaker 1: I want to be able to track my cycle that
- 23:21Speaker 1: way Zach and I can eventually down the road we
- 23:25Speaker 1: can start trying and all that. I keep emphasizing that
- 23:28Speaker 1: it's like not anytime soon, but I just want to
- 23:31Speaker 1: be on top of it and being able to track
- 23:33Speaker 1: my cycle and know also just my sleeping habits and
- 23:36Speaker 1: all that, I feel like I could be better at
- 23:39Speaker 1: just yeah, improving my sleep. So yeah, that's something that
- 23:43Speaker 1: recently came across my mind and would love to hear
- 23:46Speaker 1: your input if you have any for the or a
- 23:49Speaker 1: ring if.
- 23:49Speaker 2: You own it.
- 23:50Speaker 1: The last thing I wanted to briefly chat about. I
- 23:52Speaker 1: feel like this is honestly just a hawkgirl chat episode
- 23:55Speaker 1: because there's just been a lot of things that I've
- 23:56Speaker 1: been seeing on social media that have came across my
- 23:59Speaker 1: mind and felt the need to talk about it. But
- 24:02Speaker 1: have you guys seen the winter arc trend?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Right now.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So if you don't know what the Winter arc trend is,
- 24:09Speaker 1: it is essentially setting goals for yourself. And I know
- 24:11Speaker 1: we've chatted about goals for like the past few episodes.
- 24:14Speaker 2: About going into a new season.
- 24:15Speaker 1: But it starts October first, and what's more motivating than
- 24:18Speaker 1: going into a new month. October first is the perfect
- 24:21Speaker 1: time to set goals for yourself, or even the first
- 24:23Speaker 1: week of October writing three things that you want to
- 24:25Speaker 1: achieve for the next three months. So Winter Arc essentially
- 24:29Speaker 1: means that you have three months to finish anything you
- 24:32Speaker 1: want to do before twenty twenty four. So there's always
- 24:35Speaker 1: this mindset that people have about, Okay, well we're three
- 24:39Speaker 1: months away from twenty twenty five, like I'll just wait
- 24:43Speaker 1: to you know, start my health and wellness journey. Then
- 24:46Speaker 1: why are we waiting? Just jump on it. It's October first,
- 24:50Speaker 1: jump into starting the health and wellness journey and becoming
- 24:53Speaker 1: the healthier version of yourself. So the Winter Arc is
- 24:56Speaker 1: essentially a way of motivation for you to complete your
- 24:58Speaker 1: goals within the next ninety day. So obviously new season
- 25:02Speaker 1: is motivating, but if there's three things that you have
- 25:05Speaker 1: not completed on your vision board, that you wanted to
- 25:07Speaker 1: complete before the end of the year. This is your
- 25:09Speaker 1: time now to review your vision board make sure that
- 25:13Speaker 1: the big goals that you set for yourself are achievable
- 25:16Speaker 1: within the next ninety days. So I'm looking at mine currently.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I've definitely achieved a lot for myself. There is one
- 25:24Speaker 1: thing that I'm looking at and I'm like, I really
- 25:27Speaker 1: wanted to achieve that this year, and I definitely didn't.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So I'm making it a goal within these next ninety
- 25:32Speaker 1: days for me to focus on that goal and to
- 25:35Speaker 1: take every step that I have to get to that goal.
- 25:38Speaker 1: That way, starting in the new year. I've already took
- 25:41Speaker 1: the steps ahead by starting within these past ninety days
- 25:44Speaker 1: of getting this stuff done because this goal is a
- 25:47Speaker 1: very big goal. It's starting a brand. I'll just say
- 25:51Speaker 1: that now. I'm not going to say any details about
- 25:54Speaker 1: what brand I'm starting, but I am starting a brand.
- 25:57Speaker 1: So I think I have had this mindset up. Oh,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I think I'm just gonna start it in the new year,
- 26:02Speaker 1: because obviously the wedding took up such a big chunk
- 26:04Speaker 1: of my time this year that I didn't have time
- 26:06Speaker 1: to do it. But I think this is my sign
- 26:08Speaker 1: looking at my vision board that Okay, there's a lot
- 26:11Speaker 1: of steps to starting a brand. I think starting now
- 26:14Speaker 1: is the perfect opportunity to do so that way, going
- 26:17Speaker 1: into the new year, I have a huge head start,
- 26:20Speaker 1: and I think I'll feel less stressed knowing that I
- 26:23Speaker 1: got some stuff done now versus waiting till the new year.
- 26:27Speaker 1: So I cannot wait for the New year episodes. Those
- 26:30Speaker 1: are always my favorite to you know, talk about goal
- 26:33Speaker 1: setting and vision boards and all that. But I think
- 26:35Speaker 1: what also feels so good is looking at my year
- 26:38Speaker 1: end of what did I complete on my vision board
- 26:41Speaker 1: and like chatting with you guys about everything that is
- 26:44Speaker 1: on my vision board and completing it for the year
- 26:46Speaker 1: is just things that I didn't anticipate. Like there's images
- 26:51Speaker 1: that I put on my vision board that I strictly
- 26:53Speaker 1: think I just put for like not exact things, if
- 26:58Speaker 1: that makes sense.
- 26:59Speaker 2: So for an example, I'll share one.
- 27:01Speaker 1: So I wanted to be consistently working out and doing
- 27:04Speaker 1: pilates classes and all that, so I put an image
- 27:07Speaker 1: here of a pilates studio, like a reformer plate studio.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I had no idea that there was a plate studio,
- 27:14Speaker 1: a reformer plate studio opening up not even ten minutes
- 27:18Speaker 1: away from my house. The studio of where I go,
- 27:23Speaker 1: and the image that I have on my vision board
- 27:25Speaker 1: is almost exact when I put that image in January
- 27:29Speaker 1: of twenty twenty four. My initial reasoning as to putting
- 27:32Speaker 1: that image there was definitely not becoming a Reformer Plates
- 27:35Speaker 1: girl one hundred percent.
- 27:37Speaker 2: That was not the intention.
- 27:38Speaker 1: The intention was to just be consistent with a Pilates
- 27:42Speaker 1: workout when I travel or whatever. I don't think I
- 27:45Speaker 1: put that there knowing that there was a studio opening
- 27:47Speaker 1: up near my house and that I would be consistent
- 27:50Speaker 1: with it, you know, three times a week. So that
- 27:53Speaker 1: is the most shocking to me. And the fact that
- 27:56Speaker 1: this image looks identical to the student that I go
- 28:00Speaker 1: to is even creepier. Like I had no idea because
- 28:02Speaker 1: the studio didn't open up till March. So anyways, that
- 28:06Speaker 1: is the most mind blowing one to me. And so
- 28:08Speaker 1: that's why I always love going through my vision board
- 28:11Speaker 1: and constantly checking up on it every few months, because
- 28:14Speaker 1: you will be shocked to see how much you actually
- 28:16Speaker 1: achieve on it. So anyways, I just wanted to end
- 28:18Speaker 1: that off there because the winter arc is here, and
- 28:22Speaker 1: if you need a motivation to start stuff. This is
- 28:25Speaker 1: your time now to really just take these next ninety
- 28:27Speaker 1: days to just get back into habits that you want
- 28:30Speaker 1: to get into or start new habits, like let's not
- 28:32Speaker 1: wait till January first.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Just do it.
- 28:34Speaker 1: And this is your time or you're signed to go
- 28:37Speaker 1: through your vision board and see things that you haven't
- 28:39Speaker 1: completed that you wanted to complete it before the end
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the year, and it's your time to do it now.
- 28:45Speaker 1: So that is your episode for this week. I love
- 28:48Speaker 1: you all so much. Thank you guys for tuning in.
- 28:50Speaker 1: If you're new, definitely make sure to follow me your
