Transcript
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Three Yards Perkati, a podcast covering the Miami Dolphins and the NFL.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's your host, Chris, Alf, and Simon.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: And we're on, this is three yards per carry.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is not my camp report.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is my day off from camp.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I have not thought of football at all today.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Although I did see that the Dolphins worked out a couple of people and we're going to talk a little bit about Daniel Silmon.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: and what that means.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think dolphin fans have it a bit wrong on Tom Garfinkle.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Tom Garfinkle.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think a single loss is on his head, okay?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Unless he and we're gonna get right into it right away.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: And unless, like, look, it was speculated to me by somebody that, you know, it's, you know, this is not no hot take artist, okay, it was speculation that I heard in camp, where what if Tom Garfunko was advocating for Mike McTanym and maybe he was on opposite ends of.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: of the debate here with Daniel Sillman, because Daniel Sillman obviously wanted to bring in Troy Eggman, and essentially just jettison everybody, right?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Except Brian and Troy.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe Tom Garfinkle was on the other side of that debate, and he paid for it for this job.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: do you buy that as the type of roundabout way so so then my my thesis is correct right like he's not responsible for a single loss in the last there no no so so what you have to understand about time Garfinkle in his role is while he did take a role in in the sort of
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: that made some bigger decisions right like that and but it was but it was always Steve Ross's decision ultimately.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: Tom Garfinkel Dan Dan Marino they they played a sort of you know people to bounce ideas off of Dan Marino in particular had his hands a little bit more in the football organization of Tom Garfinkel is very much you know commercial use the commercial die and
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: and business, and you know, the business of running the franchise that has really little to do with football.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, yes, was he there to bounce ideas off of, and when it came to some of the hiring cycles and things like that, sure.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's not it wasn't his forte and so what you didn't really expect him to be a lot more than just somebody who would just, you know, help talk things out with Steve Ross or something like that, but no, he's not.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I think that I think that, you know, and that's not anything against him.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just it's just not his his lane.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Tom Garfinkle is entirely possible, but he actually that he actually spoke up for Brandon Shore.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: But, but I think that otherwise, no, I think I think Danny Selman came in.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: wanting to hire, tri-eighthmen, wanting to do something along those lines.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: Dafide is reporting that Danny Sillman also favored like many fans, most of the fans, but he's frankly, the clean breaks in area.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna hire a new GM, hire a new coach, just get it over with and do it that way.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think everybody, most people, most of the fans wanted that.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Danny Silman was just like kind of had that common wisdom, like, you know, sort of, you know, yeah, that probably makes the most sense.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: Certainly, that is where Tori Man was going, was coming from when he got involved.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that Silman, no, if you want to get down to the Tom Garfinkle thing and why is he stepping away
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's just because it's like Danny Silman is also a commercial guy, like he is also a guy that does big deals in the sports world, you know, big deals bringing, you know, bringing international soccer to to the Miami to Miami stadium and and doing other things around in the sports world, that's kind of what Tom Garfinkle was there to do.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: So it really is redundant between the two of them.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, yes, Sillman is going to oversee all aspects, including the football side.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: He is going to be the boss of John Erick Sullivan and Jeff Aftly and Brandon Chorepe.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: But he's still mostly going to be doing the deals and managing the managing the franchise stuff.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that's Tom's job, or that was Tom's job, you know, and it's just like, you know, it's sorry, sorry, Tom, you got in the way of succession.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: And, and it's, and it wasn't, I don't think there was any animosity there.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was just, hey, what's what makes sense for everybody here.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: Considering that this is a succession thing that this is Steve Ross putting in place the guy who is going to oversee the whole organization.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: while his daughters step into the role as owners, but not really managing day-to-day, you know?
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, final decision will rest in their hands, because they are the owners.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: And particularly, I think it's Jennifer Ross.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: The NFL requires you to specifically designate one person as lead owner or successor,
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's the, that's who that is for Steve Ross, his successor with the NFL, he'll have to file that with the NFL people.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, the person overseeing day to day is gonna be Danny Silva and the person who's capital, you know, Jennifer and Kim is going to take most seriously on these issues and those decisions is Danny Silva.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: So Tom Garfankle was redundant.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I would tell, I would tell Dolphin fans that they're looking at it a little bit wrong, because some of them were dancing around the campfire that Tom Garfankle was gone, so therefore, all the book you meant are gone, out of the building.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think I look at this a lot different than what a lot of people I've even been mentioning.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: Look, part of the reason why we, in this mess, we're at the beginning of a rebuild that we hope is going to actually bear fruit this time.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: And we've had all these mistakes, and we're on this 26 year Odyssey, but without a playoff win.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's because, well, I should say 26 years, but third, at least half of it.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: One of us here.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: How long is Stephen Ross's tenure?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Ben's, it's since 2009.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we're talking about a 16, 17 or 10, you know, yeah.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we're talking about a 17 year Odyssey with Stephen Ross.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: The guy who's getting replaced here is Stephen Ross.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way I see it.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, part of the reason why we're here and looking I feel bad.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: I feel bad for Stephen Ross.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Look, he's just an old guy that's been a lot of money on your favorite football team.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, if you're a fan of the Miami Dolphins, he did all the right things.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Give you a really good ball.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: All the right things.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, all the right things that you could do with your money, right?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because you could be, you could be one of these owners that's going to cut corners like, look,
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, are the only team that employees a special kind of field turf and do you know why they employ that special kind of field turf, meaning they're 32 teams and only one uses this field turf because it was an experimental field turf that is actually a lot cheaper than most field turf this guy bought a sod farm.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thanks roll on the Dolphins was absolutely never the problem.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: First for Steve Ross.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: But his decisions.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: What his football.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: I saw was You had the very top at the very top level of, you know, in terms of deciding which coach to hire, which GM to hire, the strategizing of those things.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think you have to, I think he would probably say that, I mean, he would suggest that any of his employees be held accountable for for decision making, you know, issues.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that his he he's displayed some decision making issues.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look Steven Ross made mistakes, okay, and the reason he had
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: like it's hard to, you know, who do we assign blame to, you know, like the hiring of Bryan Flores kind of gave you a three year dent in the franchise.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: Then you hired Mike McDaniel and you exacerbated the issue.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: And you essentially threw away a seven year
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's we never we never get who actually is to blame, you know, but now we know, you know, ultimately the guy that you can blame for a lot of these problems is gone and we get new eyes.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: What do and I guess we could go to break on this?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: What do we know about Daniel Sillman as far as?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: his football mind because he does have he's he is taking the title of football it's in his title football operations and all that that entails which means like if there's a big decision to be made I don't think John are a son of an assigning no $300 million contract let's say Malik will just just goes off
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: these next two seasons.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: And he's demanding a $300 million contract.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think Daniel Sillman is going to be that guy that's going to give him the thumbs up.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be that's going to be a Sillman, you know, I don't want to say call because ultimately there are owners of like, you know, um,
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: But as far as management of that day to day, you know, yeah, there's, there's a lot of his input.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: What do we know about him is he's been managing, he's been managing Steve Ross's sports interests for a while.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know, whether it's whether it's the soccer stuff, the formula one, you know, things like that.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's been, he's been doing deals and managing those sports properties for a bit.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: our sports interests for a bit for years.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: And he has a lot of background in those areas.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: He knows some people.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we're comfortable, you know, saying, you know, some of the people that you and I both know that he's he's friends with, but
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, he's friends with some people that are, you know, pretty high up and sports, uh, the sports crowd and the NBA crowd as well as, you know, other, particularly international soccer or football.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: yeah he's he's been he's been around the block with that stuff so so sports management and that's his job is is to manage a franchise is job is not to make the football decisions necessarily you have football people for that his job is to manage the football people to make the football decisions and he has he has experience doing stuff like that so so i i steam
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Bank rolling was never a problem.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you could say some of the decision-making with respect to head coaching GM.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think Steve's issue consistently is not necessarily a bad one is that, you know, when he likes people, he tries to keep them around.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he tries to find a role for them.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: He tries to, you know, he doesn't give up on people very easily.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: And that's actually an admirable
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: But he doesn't, you know, he doesn't give up on people very easily if there's one thing that I could point to and say, you know, hey, this was under your watch and he would probably argue with me about it is is what they dealt with with the tampering.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: people forget that the main, you know, things there were that the dolphins were negotiating with Sean Peyton and his agent at a time when it was not okay to do that.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: And in fact, we're very likely conspiring with one another to, you know, kind of force the
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: and have Sean Baton, you know, traded to the dolphins.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then with the Tom Brady thing, they, you know, they were in contact with him and playing footsie with him, like a year before he was going to hit free agency.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like so, so on people can talk about, oh, well, you know, this is all sham, you know, there's so much, there's so much tampering that happens.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Roger Gadell specifically said this is the most
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, yeah, I would have to put that on the guy who owned the team and was in charge, especially knowing how much of a Patriots, you know, fan boy if you was, you know, the Patriot way and how much he was in love with that, that's why they hired Brian Flores, begin with.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: Some people would consider that admirable, too.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, given take.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you're not cheating, you're not trying.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's a lot of coaches, believe that.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of real football coaches believe that.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: And actually, and I think a lot of fans appreciate that somebody's willing to cheat to win, you know?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: All you gotta do is just go, you know, just talk to the average SEC football fan.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the average just to see football fan is like, yeah, you need me to carry a bag of money to to to to a player I'll do it.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, just give me the bag of money.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just tell me who does I have to take it to.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm saying we're going to go to break.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I will say this before we go to break.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm honestly going to go to a road piece about Tom Garfinkle and I'm sorry.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: It infuriated me because he ends the piece by saying that Tom Garfinkle, by the way,
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: We do know that Stephen Ross that year wanted Lamar Jackson.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: So everybody wanted one of these great quarterbacks and nobody wanted Mikko Fitzpac for, huh?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: And somehow, and somehow, you know, we got none of them.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got none of them.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Adam Gase wanted Adam Gase wanted Josh Allen.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, unbelievable.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go to break.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: But before we do, let me tell you about only fans.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're on there all the time.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you want to interact with us at any hour, you want to ask questions, especially now that it's training camp.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're getting an influx of new members.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Go to discord.gg forward slash only friends.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: I put a description.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: I put a link in the description of this podcast on the audio version.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's read only $2.99.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: All access is $4.99 a month.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Do it on a desktop avoid the Apple upcharges.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: And when we come back, we're going to do a little thing called, uh, interview out about Trinkham.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: But first, these words, and we're back.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say a little housekeeping at this regime where we're learning a little bit more about you know Jeff Halfley and John Erick Sullivan and one thing we're learning is very, very hush hush about injuries.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: While the previous regime would tell you precisely what was wrong with every player, they were just walk off the field here and the next day they say lower
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: And in Austin Jackson's case, they said, yeah, he has an issue, but he should be back soon a rather than later.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: And one beat writer asked, what is it?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: It is tow, and he's like, we're not going to get into that at this moment.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so we're learning about Jeff Hathley and company and that's what we've learned.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're very, very hushed on injuries, the one to monitor because they've actually gone out there and picked up a tight end.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Last week, he did say Greg Galsuch.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a matter of time for him to come back and I can almost promise you.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be back for the commander's practice
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I would expect them in Washington, but Ben Sims walked off practice with a trainer and his own power, by the way, which is a good sign, I guess.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe there's an issue there now at Titan, but other than that, they're pretty healthy.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so far, knock on wood.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: You've seen it
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, since last we met they are talk to they were they've done a couple of padded practices right now.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: They've done at least one.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, too.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: They did it too.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: They so you got to see those.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: You got to see them do their three third three days span and then, you know, before the the day off.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: They're because they're doing a three and one that way.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: So I would say
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: give me some, you know, true falses here.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll just, I'll just run through it because, you know, we have various reporters talking about certain things, right?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, give me, you know, give me, give me fact or miss.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to pick on Omar Kelly.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: But Omar Kelly does not seem to be very convinced about that Malik Willis' is practicing well as a quarterback.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: So you would he in fact he said that he's been essentially Tyrod Taylor.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: myth, but I will say this, this last practice before we got our our brain before we had the day off today.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: They did red zone and Malik Willis, padded, you know, live, made his first horrific decision of all of training camp where
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's, and I can reveal this because, you know, I've talked to a lot of people and they seem to describe it, as long as I'm not giving the actual personnel grouping and the play call, I can describe the play.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's a play action with a counter action and a boot left and you got a flat receiver and overrout and then one trailing, shallot.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: there was nothing there.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: So just throw it out of the back of the end center.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: Take off because the play originated at the 11 yard line.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean at the 12 yard line going in.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: He threw a crosses body back to the the the receiver dragging late and it got picked off by Zane Anderson.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: Do you say he was rolling left when he did this?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: The play action was going right and then it was a boot left.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: Bold strategy gotten.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: And he throw, and he threw back right at the, because remember it's, remember it's timing, right?
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because you have, you're just going to, you're just going to open up and try and, and throw back against the grain all the way to the right, not all the way to the right, but with the last guy, the last guy in trail, crossing from right to left.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's a bold move.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's a horrific it's a horrific play because it's at the 12 yard line you're going in right like you should have three points in your pocket right yeah at least if not six yeah and it's an interception going the other way which is pretty bad.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Aaron Rogers.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: What do you want to say in here?
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's been good.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's been good and he had like, look, the first day in and padded practice.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, look, I dropped a joke in the pressure room.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: I came in and I sit right next to Calcrab and Calcrab goes, look, check this up and you open up his laptop and I'm going to give a shout out to this guy.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, hey, you're brave man because
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: But Tommy and Hialia, you're going to, you're going to get a big shout out for me.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: I walked into the press room and Kyle grabs goes check this up and he puts up Tommy and Hialia's feet.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I say, Hey guys, Tommy and Hialia's all 22 just dropped.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: The dude legitimately had 23 clips and he had them all from behind the quarterback.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you want, you can go check it out.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: You can watch Malekua list there.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: What a shout out here.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was throwing some times like yeah, yeah, like well, he's going to prison if you get the dolphins the dolphins like you know that FBI one do they still put the FBI warning before football games or after football games.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's a thing in the past, you know, well, the loss of express written permission of the NFL.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, and I don't think Tommy and I aliah has expressed written permission.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: No, to be dropping his own all 22 practice film, right?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: okay and it's really high quality like 4k you know so we're watching it and I'm like holy shit I'm learning things that you know I didn't get you know because I'm sitting in the stands and I'm watching it live so you know and you got to have to slow it down people have an appreciation out for how difficult it can be to see everything that you need to
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: from a certain place on the field where you have to be to watch these practices.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: And certainly with no rewind.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: There's no rewind all this stuff.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're watching, and there was one play in particular to Malik Washington, where he draws back the pass.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: He senses some pressure coming to him from his right hand side.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: They slip protection to the left, so you have two tight ends blocking chop Robinson.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: And chop Robinson disengages then his coming in on Malik, Willis, and Malik, Willis steps up.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: And let's go from his ear and it hits Malik Washington down the left side line and he's throwing it from the right ash at his own 30 and that thing dropped at the 20 at the opposite 20 yard line right in the bucket and I was told he got an extra 10 yards of yak I kind of had him out of bounds.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: But buddy, that's a 50 yard air air yard throw from the right hash to the left side line dropping it in the bucket in front of a safety as a safety's closing and the trailing corner back.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thanks down.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: Don't say yardage, but evidently that's evidently that's a that's a that's a no-no now like everybody's disagreeing about yardage now with practices which is where they don't tackle yeah on the three-way PC feed I called it 50 yards Travis called it 60 and Omar called it 40 so yeah and that's that's where we're at now
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: are you in about whether somebody got a two-hand touch or, you know, would have taken somebody down or, you know, when they stepped out of bounds and it's at practice and it's incredible.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, but run about way to, I know I've been long-winded answering your question on Malik Willis, but man, the arm talent is obvious.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: that thing just comes off of his ear and it's humming, you know.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: And he's been good.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's been good.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now, has he lit the world on fire?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, I did think that he made a horrific decision in this last practice.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: One that I actually am going to ding him for it because man, a red zone interception is bad, especially for this thing.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: So what do we got we got a factor fiction on on someone else I didn't think we would be talking about this especially after last week I asked you I put you on the spot because nobody likes to name somebody who is disappointing, right?
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: These questions the softball questions are always all the names somebody that you really stands out to you Or what do you think about this guy you know I asked you in the name I forced you in the name somebody disappointing and I didn't do that
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then and then and then somewhat later a couple days later and just recently I think yesterday maybe Tony Pauline, you know, wrote this whole big thing about how Kevin Coleman is one of the hottest rookie receivers out there in the NFL right now that he has the most buzz or that he has some of the most buzz.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_02]: that he is killing it out there in camp and in fact he's he's competing with Malik Washington for the slot receiver role and and many people I won't say most people because he because what Pauline said was many people many people think that he's going to win it and when that job factor fiction elf fiction I actually keep notes of every single snap
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and I'm not, I'm not like that beat writer from Philadelphia that argue with me that day that he had a full, you remember when the dolphins beat the crap out of the Eagles a few years ago, remember?
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: Was this, was this shore parks or whatever?
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and he had, and he said, I got full stats of the practice.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: I said that two was like nine of 11 and he's like two was eight of 13.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: I got full stats of his practice against the eagles and like did you have the stats where going live the dolphins were up 14 to nothing Because that was the score and well he had full stats.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have full stats, but I can count the receptions six practices Kevin Coleman has two receptions
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: What a, what a, he's on fire.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, he wants that and might have 20.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: So, so, well, let's go factor fiction on both of the well, no, no, actually now I'm rethinking that because I don't want to get you in trouble with the dolphins by revealing.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: positions and where people are playing.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so that's putting that's complete fiction.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to another one, though, from guys that are out there, the, the dive bar podcast, listen to them.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're, they're great guys.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: They're really on to Caleb Douglas.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: Now, of course, you know that I've been really on to Caleb Douglas since
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they have a, they have somebody that actually played with Caleb that was and, you know, roomed with them and so they've been really onto them and so I just noticed, you know, every time somebody says something positive about Caleb Douglas, you know, they're just on it and they're, you know, that feels like he's their hometown here right now.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: is Caleb Douglas lightning on fire like is he like how do what do you think what's weigh in you hate to refer to people as you know thoroughbreds you know but they like it though players like like to be referred to as a thorebed because they are different than the rest of us like we're like I said before before we got put off here like we're old pints or show ponies right
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: their Thorbrane.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: And if you watch Caleb Douglas, he looks different.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: 6, 3, 205 pounds.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: You watch him in one on one.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't care about one on one because those are designed for your quarterback to just get humiliated.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: But you watch and you see that stride and you see him open up space and separation.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: You see him win vertically.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then, and then you get a smile across your face when you watch him walk right past Chris Bell and you realize, oh, this is their vision.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: Having two giant guys on the outside for Malik Willis to throw to so yeah, I can't help but the feel pretty optimistic about Caleb Douglas I didn't see this and it's a well you can certainly you can certainly do a lot worse than a guy who's what six three and a half.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: two hundred six pounds and with a six foot eight inch wingspan.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he runs a four three nine.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: That was an electronic four three nine.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I believe so yeah, then you can you can do you can do a lot of work a lot worse than that.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: So he's so he's he's done.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's done a good job.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: He passes the eyeball tests.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's made a few plays.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to get I don't want to get to ahead of our skis on that one, but
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: How about chop Robinson as that effect or fiction thing because because he's been creating a lot of us a lot.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that one's fact.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's been unblockable and not only on the plethora of tackles that have been terrible.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've already said it on a couple of camp reports.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: You got Patrick Paul and nothing else.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: at tackle.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: At least not now.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Jamari Solier hasn't been dressing.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe when he returned.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a good caveat because Austin Jackson came out.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Jamari Solier has not been there.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: So you're getting you're getting third string and fourth string guys out there.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but Chop has booked wins against Patrick Paul and nobody's been safe from from the wrath of Chop Robinson and he's been a nuisance in the backfield and I've watched this offensive line.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think they were they're playing pretty well.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: I least of the two days that they were in pads.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: The interior offensive line is really, you know, it's it's holding up.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: But pressure is coming from the edge, from the likes of Josh Uche, Chop Robinson, Cleveland Ferrell, who's played well in camp.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, Chop Robinson, arrow up, and if anything, just look at his body, you saw the video that was out there.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: He looks like a different player.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Body wise, he's not puffy, he's not puffy anymore.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's long, lean, vascular.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's a different player.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, let's stay on that subject because you touched on a guy, and this is something that was sent to me by one of my sources, right?
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Way in on this factor fiction, Patrick Paul needs to shape up a little bit, not in shape shape up.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like practice and start performing a little bit better because you mentioned chop Robinson's log and some wins against him.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Joshua J is doing some a good job out there.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: Um, these are guys who would go against Patrick Paul in the, uh, in the lineups, uh, based on the rotations, and, uh, and we are hearing quite a bit out of that camp about, you know, offensive line collapsing, not doing too well.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, standards are super high for Patrick Paul.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: We think the franchise tackle.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, use that term lightly.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: So tell me factor fiction that that Patrick Paul needs to step up a little bit.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he has to play a little bit better.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: He has to play a little bit better, especially since, and it's where I'm going to say this.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: He has a lot of help to the insight.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: OK. Gated Proctor has been.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: Gated Proctor has been damn good in this training camp.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'll always pass it off and that alone helps, right?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's different to see Zach Sealer come off the ball.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: with the violence that he comes off the ball and then go nowhere.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: After, Kate and Proctor gives up two yards on his kick slide.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so K to Proctor is extremely strong and I'm going to give Patrick Paul a little bit of a flowers here, they're a bear in the run game Patrick Paul and proctor now does that mean that the team is essentially a left handed running team yeah, they're probably they're probably a left handed running team for probably the duration even though Jonah Sabina has actually been pretty dang good these two days and in pads, but
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Patrick Paul has to be a little bit better, you know, start, he should be dominating some of these guys in practice.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: He should not be allowing any pressure from Joshua J or Chop Robinson.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: Especially since he is facing UJ a lot in practice.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and let's be honest, Joshua J is, you know, I've always liked him as a past
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's kind of a bottom, a bottom roster, not bottom roster, but I mean, like you, you don't pay a lot for Joshua.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: And free agency and chop Robinson while he is first round pick.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he did have what I felt was a pretty outstanding rookie year certainly went through his off more slump the absolutely classic of classic off more slump.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: And so he went off a very challenged year and Patrick Paul is not.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Patrick Paul, we regard highly, right?
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: So you should be beaten those guys.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: You should be, you know, you should be winning against those guys, even in practice setting.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: So it's interesting to see that shape up.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: But you mentioned another guy, Jonas of I&E, everybody is going to want to know.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: And Jeff Haffley, but if he throw out that defense event, like right, he's forget the tape last year, you know,
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: you know, yeah, we know the tape was unsalveled, what we think the player is is salvaged.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that, you know, how has he been?
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: Is it real?
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: Is it, you know, has he been a good starter for the team in practice?
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for the two days in pads, yeah, he's been, he's been pretty good.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: And especially considering that,
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: that he's facing, you know, kind of a turn style to his right in Charlie Heck and pretty much whoever they put out there.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: But the interior offensive line, I'm pretty high on.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say the interior offensive line, I'm talking about the three obvious starters.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I'm I'm not coming down the mountain with the tablets here when I like you know when I say the word.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: I want to worry about it.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the three starters are in the interior office line is Proctor Brewer, Jonas of I9.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I really like Meyer, and I really like DJ Campbell.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: So when I talk about the interior offensive line, I'm talking about those three guys and Myers and Campbell, which you could deduce which units they play on.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: And those guys have been good.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's as simple as that.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: They keep booking wins and I hold them in higher regard because I think that they are going against a unit that I actually think very highly of.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like I was talking to Kyle Krabs and I think we're almost in lockstep on this.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: If this team is going to have any top 10 units, it's going to come from their defense attack or group, and their line-backing group.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: I happen to really like their defense attack or all of them.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give the wins to the interior offensive line of the Miami Dolphin so far.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're they're they're beating the likes of Grant, Sealer, Jordan Phillips, Ziegbegers, etc.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll do, we'll do a real quick lightning round here on the defensive side of ball.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to stick on that stick with that side and not long answers, just tell me off the top of your head, what you think, starter or backup, we're going to play this game.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Rodriguez, I think he's this year, this year he's a starter.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: and thoughts and we'll start.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: And not some was very good the last two days, by the way, but still.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: starter or backup Michael half safety.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not having your reveal anything.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm having you guess some point this
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at the roster.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: Look, Zayn Anderson has come on.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm gonna say starter.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're gonna play some safety.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: So starter for Michael Taff.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: Start or it is.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: Start or it is.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, starter or back up.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Uchi.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: starter, sorry.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like that one's starter.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: That was almost set in stone, yes.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Almost set in stone, okay.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he'll share, I think he'll share, share time with Cleo and Farrell.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: And depending on the front or back and down.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: Starter or backup, Ethan Bonner, backup.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: Back up and it's not to say that he has a plate.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's actually poorly.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's actually played pretty well and he made a an eye opening play on on Quinn yours on the first day of pads So on a terrible decision, but the way but he's in boner has been good But he's not a starter at least not in this group like look I was listening to Omar today and he was like, oh, these cornerbacks are good I'm like holy shit I know and Omar agree on something
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a good cast for the cornerbacks.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll we'll make this the last starter or backup.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think Let's go with No, G.D. Friends is too easy because I know what you're going to say there.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're going to say starter, aren't you?
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, G.D. Friends, G.D. Friends has been a pretty damn good
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: jujubrences, jujubrences at starter, I get that.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, harder one, much harder one.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: We'll qualify this as saying that if you play 500 or more snaps, you're a starter.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: Kyle Lewis.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a lot of traffic in that line-backing room, a lot of traffic.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is a room.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: If they trade dots and I guess snaps open up, if they don't, I don't see where the hell they're coming from.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but they're using them, they're using them.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: You'll take 500.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Protect the under.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: I've 100?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 500.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I've 100.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've 100 to me is like, you know, as a good 50% plus, you know, kind of,
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: player.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: As of right now, if Dodson remains on the on the the roster and let's say they just get amazing health.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: I will cut that 500 number in half for Kyle Lewis.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of ifs there.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, it's it's extreme health and Dodson remains on the roster.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: Last last one and it's not a starter.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a starter or backup, but.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: Big nickel is going to be a big thing for the, for the dolphin's this year.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, and for for the viewers viewers listeners, if you don't know what I'm talking about with a big nickel is generally a three safety two corner defense.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: So it's, it's nickel, but it's not three corners and two safeties.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's three safeties and two corners.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you'll typically have your regular
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: out there, you know, four defensive linemen, including edge players and two real linebackers, which presumably would be either Jake Brodery is or Tyrell Dodson and Jordan Brooks.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: So big nickel, three safeties, two corners, factor fiction this year.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Nope, it's not I don't think it's happening and it's not because uh, you know, they don't like the safeties that they're trying a lot of saves.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_02]: What if I include Kyle Lewis says the third safety.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's a possibility.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's not but it won't be what what they'll what they'll lean on.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: They like Chris John, they won't look at us, but yeah, this this has been it's been reported they like Chris Johnson as the as the nickel as the slot corner as the nickel.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: Such a shirt tackler and if you look at him like I was actually surprised, you know, like I've told I talked about it on the camp reports.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't I've never met.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Chris Johnson in my life.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I finally saw him standing right next to him and I'm like, oh.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: This is different because I saw him in college and I saw and he's six feet, 193 pounds.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he'd be a little bit long and lean.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's compact and muscle up.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: So he looks like a nickel.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Now he looks like a safety.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty strong.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: So what does that tell you?
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's a nickel, you know?
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: So when it comes to, when it comes to, you know, hey, we just gotta get the guys out on the field that we like the best, right?
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll manipulate everything else.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna say that they're gonna want to get multiple corners aside from Christchants and Christchants and it's gonna go out and go into the slot.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Other corners are gonna come out of the field and brag on the perimeter, right?
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: Um, they would rather get those other guys.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just call a jujube rinse and X because I don't, you know, I don't want you to reveal things that the dolphins don't want you to reveal.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so, you know, you think they're going to go with that instead of playing a lot of the form of nickel where they have Kyle Lewis playing as sort of an apex.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: you know, a slot safety.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they compared them to what's his name, the safety up in an up in Green Bay.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think John Eric Sullivan compared them outright to that was it was a board or somebody like that.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but, yeah, to Vampo.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: So, so you think you think you think true nickel, true nickel more than big nickel.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but I will say this three snaps were and I can reveal like this would get in the territory where I go to Dolphin jail, okay?
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: There was a let's just say there was a personal situation that allowed for three snaps on Tuesday's practice where Jacob Rodriguez Jordan Brooks and Carlos were on the field together.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's actually, that's, that's kind of what I would expect in a technical situation, though.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: If Kyle Lewis is able to be a, again, don't want to put you in jail, so you don't have to say anything else.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: But like the situation that I would expect with a big nickel would be, especially if he compares with Bullard and Green Bay, who was that kind of third safety in those big nickel situations,
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: John Erick Sullivan made that comparison, not me.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Then you have Jordan Brooks and Jacob Rodriguez is the two real linebackers out there.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: You have a Kyle Lewis as essentially a third safety who plays in the slot like as an apex kind of player.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then you also have your two safeties and your two corners.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the that's the big nickel package that was kind of
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: promise or hinted at, I think after the drafting and with the comparisons, the John Eric Sullivan made, but it's interesting that, you know, that's not a dominant package in our thoughts for the season, the way that we might have thought so before.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I would say it's been an interesting time tomorrow.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: They're in practice tomorrow, Friday, and then Saturday is a stadium practice.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: I was told last week, it is not a scrimmage.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: It won't be a scrimmage at hard rock stadium on Saturday at 10 a.m.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: It is a regular practice.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I will ask once again this week to see if it will be a scrimmage or not, because the way the schedule is shaking out, it feels like a scrimmage.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I was told this now, so I will let our listeners know more in my camperboards the rest of this week.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: You got anything else?
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: Chris, so you want to call us last question.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: We'll just get out on it.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: You can just go, yes or no, if you want, tomorrow the Rosen is he, is he my me.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: And Clay Thompson looks like the heat will have
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: competition for Clay Thompson.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not good.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: That one's a little more sub sub sub optimal.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think is sub optimal.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is the the word.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I have a question for you.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: The bronze James top steel.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: Does the salary cap exist or this is just phony baloney in the NBA where people are just going to start signing four million dollar deals and getting
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: of deals that I'm sorry that deal is worth at least $20 million a year.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've looked at the the particulars of the top still.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know who owns tops, right?
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: Or is a huge stakeholder in tops?
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a guy who's on the board of the Philadelphia
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just going to go ahead and get them so yeah, so we're going to have to get Pablo Torre on this one as well.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: We circumventing the salary cap here.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's more like it's like we should start a segment called what's Pablo's problem because like you know, because this is the norm in the NBA and has been forever.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: And so like, do you remember, why is partying throughout?
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: Why is Pablo do you have a wreck?
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: Why is Pablo got a wreck a bunch of people shit?
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, do you remember, do you remember Dwayne Wade wearing Lenin sneakers, little no change, we know all about, we know all about any steels with the, with the Miami, like seriously though, like, you know, probably, but Pablo is probably one of the best investigative journalists out there period.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: in any venue, right now, given us flowers.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: There's a certain sense of the NBA has been doing this for so long, and so semi-openly.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: that it's sort of like, you know, Pablo, what's your deal?
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you, why are you ruining everybody?
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so you think that if so, you think that we were a Mickey Harrison offering a cruise ship to LeBron James away from getting him signed up, signed in sealed and delivered down here?
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's hard to know what that, it's hard to know what that came down to at the can't be, you know, all the reports are like, you know,
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it was last, and everybody was in the lead at some point.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_02]: It was last minute, this, you know, I'd rich pals.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know until that, you know, like that kind of stuff.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I like the, I like the last report.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: Remember the, the, the, there was a report that said that LeBron was going to live in New York City and commute via helicopter every single day to Philadelphia.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then there was a report that LeBron found out.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: that winch year from New York to Philadelphia is extreme and helicopter commutes are actually very dangerous from New York to Philadelphia.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: So that's over.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_02]: And he will more than full of more dangerous than people think period.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't know if anybody remembers a certain certain sort of popular, you know.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: who who once scored almost as many points in a game as bam out of biogit.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: The third leading score in the history of the M.A.N.A.N.A.N.A.N.A.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N.N
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: no, not our concern.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: So next week should be a lot of fun.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get actual football, Miami Dolphins football, next week.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: But tell them.
