- 0:01Stu does America.
- 0:06Welcome to the program,
- 0:07Matt.
- 0:07We have a ton to catch up on today,
- 0:09and we're definitely not gonna get to everything.
- 0:11I'm promising you that right up front.
- 0:13We will not do all the big news stories of the day.
- 0:15The reverse of what most people will tell you,
- 0:17but I'm being honest,
- 0:18there's no way we're getting to all of it.
- 0:20A couple of big things
- 0:21that did happen today that we're probably not gonna have that much time to touch on.
- 0:25But
- 0:26the classified documents case
- 0:28on Donald Trump that was in court in Florida was tossed today.
- 0:32Basically the appointment of Jack Smith ruled to be unconstitutional by the judge.
- 0:36We will see where that goes.
- 0:37Surely challenges will abound.
- 0:40As you see here,
- 0:41but that one's gone for the moment,
- 0:43which basically means there's nothing left.
- 0:45There's really nothing left here when it comes to these charges.
- 0:48Nothing certainly that's going to happen
- 0:50before the election.
- 0:51So this whole thing about Trump and the legal situation being a big
- 0:55force in the election outcome
- 0:57is pretty much dead,
- 0:58pretty much dead.
- 0:59Also,
- 1:00Trump is to announce his vice president choices today.
- 1:04Now I will say.
- 1:06Um,
- 1:06I,
- 1:07when you,
- 1:07I don't know when you're listening to this,
- 1:08so he may have already picked that person.
- 1:10If,
- 1:11when this does happen,
- 1:12we're going to try to go live on YouTube,
- 1:13go to youtube.com/studiosAmerica.
- 1:15If you follow the page and click the bell for notifications,
- 1:17you'll get pop-ups when we're doing these lives.
- 1:19We've done about 5 or 6 of them.
- 1:21In the last week,
- 1:22big things,
- 1:23the press conference,
- 1:24Biden's press conference,
- 1:26obviously the shooting
- 1:27with Trump.
- 1:28We went live a couple of times,
- 1:30you know,
- 1:31big interviews,
- 1:31big press conferences,
- 1:32big speeches,
- 1:33big poll results being released,
- 1:34whatever we got,
- 1:35we're going to be going live on YouTube.
- 1:37So
- 1:37just join us there
- 1:39and you'll get all of that stuff.
- 1:40Let me go through some of the stuff today.
- 1:42Look,
- 1:43you've already heard the Trump assassination
- 1:46attempt.
- 1:46You know what it is.
- 1:47You know what happened.
- 1:48I'm not going to go too deep into just recounting the everyday
- 1:51back and forth on this
- 1:52because we've already covered it on some of the
- 1:54lives and you've probably already seen the coverage.
- 1:55You've certainly seen the video.
- 1:57It's one of the most amazing things
- 1:59really any of us will ever experience.
- 2:00So
- 2:01understand this for your kids,
- 2:02for your grandkids.
- 2:04Try to keep the perspective,
- 2:05maybe write some of it down,
- 2:06maybe jot yourself a few emails,
- 2:08just get you give the perspective of what you're
- 2:10thinking through these moments because these are historic times,
- 2:12there's no doubt about that.
- 2:13Trump is rewriting his speech at the RNC in the wake of the assassination
- 2:18attempt,
- 2:19and you know it's hard to know exactly what he's thinking here.
- 2:21We don't know
- 2:23where he is going to go
- 2:25with this difference,
- 2:26but we got a little bit of a taste potentially from his Truth Social,
- 2:30where he just wrote unite America.
- 2:33Unite America,
- 2:34that's a simple message,
- 2:36and
- 2:36what this is politically,
- 2:38and again we can go into all the more important things,
- 2:40we've already done a lot of that,
- 2:41you've probably already thought through a lot of that,
- 2:43so we're trying to get to the secondary stuff here,
- 2:44which is
- 2:45politically.
- 2:47The mindset of Donald Trump
- 2:49is changing
- 2:50if he goes this direction.
- 2:52He is no longer thinking about a 51 to 49 type victory.
- 2:55He's now thinking,
- 2:57wait a minute,
- 2:57do I get,
- 2:58do I win by 10?
- 2:59Do I win by 12?
- 3:01Can I get 350 electoral votes?
- 3:04This is where his mind is in this moment,
- 3:06and I think
- 3:07if he can nail this tone.
- 3:10And not
- 3:11take the goodwill he will receive obviously
- 3:13for being a victim of something like this
- 3:15and turn it into,
- 3:16if he doesn't
- 3:17ruin it,
- 3:18which is possible,
- 3:18it's hard to do,
- 3:19especially over several months,
- 3:21it's going to be hard to hold that together for any candidate,
- 3:23but you know,
- 3:23Trump is Trump and he likes to sometimes.
- 3:26Remind people
- 3:27that they don't like him,
- 3:30some people don't,
- 3:31which was kind of on display this weekend.
- 3:33Some people really don't like him,
- 3:34and you know,
- 3:35but I think he's going to have a burst of goodwill here,
- 3:38and it will be fascinating to see what happens in the polls as a result of it.
- 3:42Again,
- 3:42this is a secondary issue.
- 3:43The number one issue is of course Donald Trump's health and of course
- 3:47the people at the rally that were affected by this.
- 3:50A father in a terribly tragic story killed.
- 3:53Awful.
- 3:53There's other people who are in critical condition.
- 3:55I mean the whole thing is a mess.
- 3:57That's #1.
- 3:58Number 2 is what happens to our country.
- 3:59We are in really dangerous territory,
- 4:02but we did cover some of this on radio and on YouTube Live,
- 4:04so we'll all just keep to what's going on right now.
- 4:07There was last night,
- 4:08of course,
- 4:08a Biden address.
- 4:10Biden addresses Trump rally shooting in the Oval Office.
- 4:12Address Politics may never may never be a literal battlefield.
- 4:16I mean he butchered that line
- 4:18pretty badly when he went through it.
- 4:19Let me give you a couple of the clips from this speech
- 4:21last night.
- 4:22This is him talking about the motive of the shooter.
- 4:26Earlier today,
- 4:27I spoke about an ongoing investigation.
- 4:30We do not know the motive of the shooter yet.
- 4:32No,
- 4:34we don't know his opinions or affiliations.
- 4:36We don't know whether he had help or support
- 4:39or if he communicated with anyone else.
- 4:42Law enforcement professionals as I speak are investigating those questions
- 4:46tonight.
- 4:48I want to speak to what we do know.
- 4:51Riveting,
- 4:51riveting speech from Joe Biden,
- 4:54uh,
- 4:54as you might imagine.
- 4:55Now my understanding is the intent uh motive was to kill Donald Trump.
- 4:59Not sure if that one holds up,
- 5:01but that's my belief.
- 5:02We don't know everything about this guy.
- 5:03He seems to be kind of a quirky 20 year old with not a big online history.
- 5:07We'll see where all that shakes out.
- 5:09We don't need to speculate on it because we'll know eventually,
- 5:11I think.
- 5:12This one was
- 5:13because the tone was terrible.
- 5:14Joe Biden is awful doing these speeches.
- 5:17He,
- 5:17he is,
- 5:17you know,
- 5:18borderline incoherent,
- 5:21um,
- 5:21certainly no energy,
- 5:22really weird physical
- 5:24performance,
- 5:24really stilted and odd.
- 5:27That's what you expect out of Joe Biden.
- 5:29There was an opportunity for him to potentially say,
- 5:31hey,
- 5:31you know,
- 5:32my side's obviously got some problems with this stuff too.
- 5:34Like he could have tried to do this thing where he reaches across the aisle.
- 5:37And one way he attempted to kind of signal he was doing that
- 5:41was to say,
- 5:42hey,
- 5:42it doesn't matter
- 5:43whether it's
- 5:45you know the the assassination of Donald Trump or this on the
- 5:48right or this on the left or this on the right.
- 5:50He kind of set it up that way,
- 5:52like he was going to give you a laundry list of some examples from either side to show,
- 5:56hey,
- 5:56both sides are guilty of this,
- 5:57we need to turn the temperature down.
- 5:58Instead,
- 5:59what he did was only
- 6:01remember
- 6:02things that happened to people on the left.
- 6:04It was an incredible,
- 6:05dishonest,
- 6:06disingenuous,
- 6:07disgusting moment from a president
- 6:10in this spot.
- 6:10I can't overstate how just horrible this moment was.
- 6:14Watch this because I think people on the left will be like,
- 6:15oh yeah,
- 6:16I see what he's saying there,
- 6:17but look at the examples he comes up with.
- 6:20We cannot,
- 6:21we must not
- 6:22go down this road in America.
- 6:24We've traveled before throughout our history.
- 6:27Violence has never been the answer,
- 6:29whether it's with members of Congress of both parties being targeted and shot
- 6:33or a violent mob attacking the Capitol on January 6th January 6th,
- 6:37or a brutal attack on the spouse of former Speaker
- 6:39of the House Nancy Pelosi,
- 6:41Nancy Pelosi,
- 6:42or information
- 6:43and intimidation
- 6:44on election officials.
- 6:45Oh,
- 6:45Donald Trump is evil.
- 6:47Plot
- 6:47against the sitting governor.
- 6:49OK,
- 6:49attempted assassination on Donald Trump.
- 6:51Got it.
- 6:52There's no place in this.
- 6:54There's the list.
- 6:55So it's January 6th.
- 6:57You can turn it off.
- 6:57January 6th,
- 7:00the Michigan thing,
- 7:01which kind of fell apart if you remember Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping,
- 7:05the intimidation of election officials.
- 7:08That's an actual criticism of Donald Trump.
- 7:10The man was just shot in the side of the head.
- 7:13And he's saying he's the problem.
- 7:17Uh,
- 7:18did he ask for it?
- 7:19Did it,
- 7:19was his skirt too short?
- 7:22Absolutely incredible.
- 7:23Couldn't come up with,
- 7:24I don't know,
- 7:25Brett Kavanaugh almost being assassinated.
- 7:27Couldn't come up with that one.
- 7:28Couldn't come up with
- 7:29a Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer almost murdering 10%
- 7:33of all elected Republicans in Washington DC.
- 7:36Couldn't think of that one,
- 7:37right.
- 7:37just out of sight,
- 7:38out of mind,
- 7:39but you came up with the Michigan kidnapping case.
- 7:41Good job,
- 7:42Joe.
- 7:42Just despicable.
- 7:44It wound up being
- 7:46basically just an election speech.
- 7:48I mean he went into like how we're going to argue,
- 7:50we're going to choose what we're going to choose for the future.
- 7:53There is absolutely no reason for this
- 7:56to be in the Oval Office.
- 7:58He went on to say,
- 7:59well,
- 7:59we're not going to,
- 7:59we can't do this with violence.
- 8:00We have to
- 8:02address these things at the battle box,
- 8:04which I think is like
- 8:05we have to.
- 8:06I don't know if it's battle bots.
- 8:08Like we have to make sure the election is decided by two robots,
- 8:10each representing the candidates.
- 8:13I don't know what the battle box is.
- 8:14They actually went to the extent with the actual transcript
- 8:18because he of course was supposed to say ballot box.
- 8:21He said battle box twice,
- 8:23so they had to correct it in the actual
- 8:25transcript and rather than saying what he actually said,
- 8:27which was battle,
- 8:28B A T T L E,
- 8:29they actually corrected the official transcript
- 8:32to a made up word.
- 8:35Battle,
- 8:35B A T T O L.
- 8:37That's not a word.
- 8:38They,
- 8:39they actually corrected him
- 8:41from a real word
- 8:42and made it look like he actually was saying a fake word because
- 8:46they didn't want to admit what a gaffe it was when he was
- 8:49preaching for peace and uses the word battle.
- 8:52Unbelievable.
- 8:53And then of course we had the whole
- 8:55everyone must be treated with dignity and respect.
- 8:57Oh,
- 8:57you mean like Adolf Hitler?
- 8:59Is that,
- 8:59is that the kind of respect you've been looking for,
- 9:01because that's what you've been saying about your opponent this entire time,
- 9:03that he's basically literally Hitler.
- 9:05So that's the sort of dignity and respect we should expect out of you.
- 9:09Just an absolute disgrace from behind.
- 9:13From,
- 9:14oh my,
- 9:14from the freaking Oval Office,
- 9:16from behind the resolute desk,
- 9:18we get this,
- 9:19what an embarrassment this guy is.
- 9:22I mean,
- 9:22the seconds can't pass
- 9:24quickly enough until he's out of office.
- 9:26I can't wait.
- 9:27I personally can't wait.
- 9:28Um,
- 9:29some other stuff that's going on.
- 9:31The conspiracy theories got so bad
- 9:34that even Taylor Lorenz got mad at them.
- 9:37That's how bad we are.
- 9:38Blue a non-conspiracy theories flood social media after a Trump rally shooting,
- 9:43really crazy ones,
- 9:43basically arguing about the idea that it was staged.
- 9:46Completely absurd,
- 9:47of course.
- 9:48Joe Scarborough,
- 9:49uh,
- 9:49Morning Joe,
- 9:50pulled from the air today because of the Trump shooting,
- 9:53reported by CNN that they were worried that they or their
- 9:56guests were going to say something horrible in the coverage,
- 9:58which is fascinating because that's this is
- 10:01Joe Biden's.
- 10:02Favorite show,
- 10:03his most trusted show,
- 10:04where he goes when he needs trusted perspective.
- 10:07So basically the show
- 10:09that
- 10:10our president goes to for trusted perspective can't
- 10:13even be trusted by his own network.
- 10:16That's a good sign.
- 10:17That's a good sign for our future.
- 10:19Trump rally shooting upends Democratic to Biden crisis.
- 10:21This is a fascinating secondary
- 10:24part of the story because
- 10:25obviously we've spent the last couple of weeks after the
- 10:28debate talking about how Biden might have to step down,
- 10:30he's trying to fight for his life,
- 10:32and there's two ways to look at this.
- 10:35Where I'm sitting right now is this is probably very good for Biden in a weird way,
- 10:39right?
- 10:40Um,
- 10:40it's weird to talk about this incident and
- 10:42talk about whether it's good for a politician,
- 10:44but I mean we're doing the political side of this intentionally,
- 10:46uh,
- 10:47you know.
- 10:49It's going to help him run out the clock.
- 10:51That's,
- 10:51I think,
- 10:51the thought here.
- 10:52He,
- 10:52he,
- 10:52they're not going to be able to deal with this for a while.
- 10:55There was rumors that multiple dozens of Democrats were going
- 10:57to come out and ask for him to step down.
- 10:59It's really hard to do that when he's in the middle of a crisis like this.
- 11:02This probably lets him run
- 11:03the clock out.
- 11:04The other side of this,
- 11:05and I'll just throw it out there,
- 11:06I don't know that this is going to happen,
- 11:07but if the polls really,
- 11:09really pop for Donald Trump here.
- 11:12And we start seeing polls like 1012,
- 11:1414 points,
- 11:15something crazy.
- 11:16If that starts happening,
- 11:17they may go ahead replacing him anyway.
- 11:20They may,
- 11:20they may just pull the rug out from under him if they can anyway.
- 11:23Again,
- 11:23this is something he's gonna have to agree with.
- 11:24We'll see if that happens.
- 11:26Jen Psaki says Republicans
- 11:28must change their tone at the convention to restore civility
- 11:32because
- 11:33their candidate almost got murdered
- 11:35on stage.
- 11:36So I don't,
- 11:36I don't know exactly what,
- 11:37what,
- 11:38how much more civil they can be.
- 11:40To
- 11:41discourage
- 11:42people shooting at the candidates.
- 11:44So I don't know.
- 11:45Again,
- 11:46was his,
- 11:47was his skirt a bit too short?
- 11:50He shouldn't have been walking in that alley now,
- 11:52should he?
- 11:53Absolutely incredible,
- 11:55uh,
- 11:55coming from the left.
- 11:56Look.
- 11:57The rhetoric of the left
- 11:59calling him
- 12:00Hitler and a dictator and a threat to democracy and all the things they've done
- 12:05is really,
- 12:05really bad,
- 12:06of course,
- 12:07and obviously
- 12:08it's true.
- 12:09The person responsible for a murder
- 12:11or an attempted murder is the person
- 12:13who attempted the murder.
- 12:14That's obvious.
- 12:16I work in a business where I say stuff all the time.
- 12:18And we know how the left tries to blame
- 12:21us for everything bad that happens.
- 12:23Well,
- 12:23he listened to Glenn Becker,
- 12:24he listened to Stubergere,
- 12:25he listened to
- 12:27Steve Dace or whoever,
- 12:28and they say,
- 12:29oh well,
- 12:29that's the reason why he did this.
- 12:31Look,
- 12:32it's not our responsibility as
- 12:33broadcasters or even politicians' responsibilities
- 12:36to
- 12:37to
- 12:37to control every lunatic that might listen to them.
- 12:40But I will say it's not a good idea
- 12:42to be calling your opponent Hitler all the time,
- 12:44and it's obviously something they don't believe,
- 12:46because
- 12:47if they believed it,
- 12:48they wouldn't be wishing him well,
- 12:49right?
- 12:50You don't wish Hitler well.
- 12:52That's not what you do,
- 12:52but you do create a situation where
- 12:54a lot of people will say,
- 12:56well,
- 12:56you know,
- 12:56it kind of makes sense,
- 12:57right?
- 12:58We saw this reaction from the left,
- 12:59a lot of people kind of cheered this on that someone took a shot at Donald Trump.
- 13:03And in some ways you look at the rhetoric of the left,
- 13:05I mean,
- 13:06it's basic ethics class in every college,
- 13:08right?
- 13:09Would you go back and kill baby Hitler,
- 13:11right?
- 13:12It's like a fantasy,
- 13:13right?
- 13:13A time machine brings you back to kill baby Hitler,
- 13:15it would be so,
- 13:16it would do so much good.
- 13:17Well,
- 13:17they're telling you that Hitler's right here right now,
- 13:19and he's not even a baby.
- 13:20He's not even adorable anymore,
- 13:21he's an adult.
- 13:23So why wouldn't you do it?
- 13:24That is the underlying argument of every one of their points.
- 13:28And you know what,
- 13:28someone's gonna take it seriously eventually.
- 13:30They're not criminally responsible for that.
- 13:33They are protected by a very,
- 13:35very
- 13:36strong First Amendment in their speech,
- 13:37but it's still the wrong thing to do.
- 13:39There's no doubt about that.
- 13:42Let's see what else do we have time for here.
- 13:45Uh
- 13:46Yeah,
- 13:46I mean,
- 13:47it's funny because,
- 13:48uh,
- 13:48going back to the Hitler point real quick.
- 13:50When you
- 13:51assassinate Hitler,
- 13:53Tom Cruise makes movies about your life.
- 13:56That's how
- 13:57that is what
- 13:58the messaging is from the Democratic Party.
- 14:01They're telling you this man is Hitler.
- 14:02Of course some crazy person is going to do something.
- 14:05We don't know if it was this one or many of
- 14:07the other threats that Donald Trump has received over the years.
- 14:09Thank God
- 14:11this one wasn't
- 14:12the one that did the most damage.
- 14:15By the way,
- 14:16even while this was going on,
- 14:17the New York Times still had pieces up right under their live coverage of this event
- 14:21that
- 14:22you know
- 14:22that the
- 14:24Republicans were influenced by Nazis.
- 14:26Even as the event was going on,
- 14:28it was still up on their site.
- 14:31So how is this something that Trump can work with
- 14:33electorally?
- 14:35The tone is going to be important here,
- 14:37and so far he has absolutely nailed the tone.
- 14:40These statements that he's made
- 14:41that are strong and brave and resilient,
- 14:45but also not.
- 14:47He doesn't need to be in your face in these moments,
- 14:49just like he didn't need to be in your face when you know
- 14:52Biden's debate performance was out there as the news cycle.
- 14:56He's
- 14:57he's learning
- 14:58how to kind of sit back
- 15:00and let you know,
- 15:01give Biden
- 15:03political
- 15:04rope.
- 15:05That is a massive,
- 15:06massive difference in the way that Trump is handling this two previous campaigns.
- 15:11How long will it be until Trump
- 15:13is Hitler again?
- 15:14What,
- 15:14what is the,
- 15:15what is,
- 15:15because I mean their entire campaign is built on calling Trump Hitler,
- 15:19saying he's violent.
- 15:20And abortion.
- 15:22Well,
- 15:22how do you do the other two?
- 15:23They're gonna be hearing a lot about abortion,
- 15:25because how do you do the other two?
- 15:27How do you do the other flanks of this?
- 15:28You can't say
- 15:29the Republicans are the violent party after they
- 15:31almost got their candidate almost got assassinated.
- 15:34And you know,
- 15:35you can't really talk about January 6th or anything else after all this has gone on.
- 15:39What do you do?
- 15:40Abortion,
- 15:40abortion,
- 15:41abortion,
- 15:41I suppose.
- 15:42Let me end with this because I'm running out of time.
- 15:46One thing we should all not lose perspective of
- 15:48is how freaking crazy it was that the bullet actually hit his ear.
- 15:53His ear.
- 15:55His ear that's attached to his head,
- 15:56that's one inch away from absolutely him having no chance of surviving this.
- 16:02If you went into a Hollywood pitch meeting and you're like,
- 16:04I've got a great idea for a movie,
- 16:06it's gonna be about an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate,
- 16:09and the guy fires and it hits his ear and there's lots of blood and everyone goes,
- 16:12oh my gosh,
- 16:13and,
- 16:13and there's a big scene and,
- 16:15and
- 16:15you would get laughed out of the pitch room.
- 16:18The chances of this happening are completely impossible.
- 16:21I mean,
- 16:21a shot and a miss would have been crazy enough,
- 16:23but a shot that hits him in the
- 16:25ear and he's walking off stage moments later is impossibly insane.
- 16:30Only God
- 16:31could have possibly protected him and made this happen.
- 16:34It is a miracle,
- 16:35and I mean that legitimately.
- 16:37God only knows not only what would happen,
- 16:38of course,
- 16:38to his family and politics,
- 16:40but what would have happened to our country
- 16:42if one inch,
- 16:44a little bit more wind,
- 16:45whatever the difference was,
- 16:47if that would have occurred.
- 16:48And finally,
- 16:49the reaction.
- 16:50Him
- 16:51having the presence of mind
- 16:53to stand up in that moment
- 16:54and pump his fist and say fight
- 16:57is
- 16:57not only iconic,
- 16:58the photos are iconic,
- 17:00but it is one of the most badass things you will ever see
- 17:04from
- 17:04any politician at any level in any situation.
- 17:08It might be the most badass thing I've ever seen in the history of politics.
- 17:13It is
- 17:13incredible.
- 17:14It was an incredible
- 17:16moment.
- 17:16It's one that he should not have had to suffer through,
- 17:19but man.
- 17:21After it,
- 17:21it is incredibly impressive.
- 17:23I want to talk about the security aspects of what went on,
- 17:25the failures with the security.
- 17:27We're going to bring in Spencer Corson.
- 17:28He's a security expert,
- 17:29and he's going to join us next.

- 18:45I'm joined now by Spencer Curson.
- 18:46He's a threat management expert and founder of the Courson Security Group,
- 18:49author of The Safety Trap,
- 18:51a great book,
- 18:51a Security Expert's Secrets for Staying Safe in a Dangerous World,
- 18:55which is available now wherever you get your books.
- 18:57Spencer,
- 18:57thanks so much for coming on the program,
- 18:58ma'am.
- 19:00Stu,
- 19:00always a pleasure,
- 19:01my friend.
- 19:01How are you?
- 19:02Really,
- 19:02really well.
- 19:03Crazy times unfortunately though.
- 19:04Let me start with this.
- 19:05This is a headline from The Wall Street Journal.
- 19:07Trump shooting his Secret Service,
- 19:09Secret Service's most stunning failure
- 19:12in decades.
- 19:13True or false?
- 19:15True.
- 19:15100% true.
- 19:17I remember going through my own protective academy and one of
- 19:20the first things I remember hearing an instructor tell me was,
- 19:23anytime your protective team is forced to pivot from,
- 19:26from prevention to reaction,
- 19:28you failed.
- 19:30The,
- 19:30the buck stops with the Secret Service here and the fact that they haven't been
- 19:35answering any questions is
- 19:37not really instilling a lot of confidence in their future capability.
- 19:40It really is stunning and,
- 19:41and you know it's stunning when like an idiot like me sees stuff and it's like,
- 19:45hey,
- 19:46wait a minute,
- 19:46what about that?
- 19:48Let me start with this because
- 19:50you know as I look at it,
- 19:51I don't understand all this stuff.
- 19:52You've been protecting really important people all around
- 19:55the globe for a really long time,
- 19:57also lowlifes like Glenn Beck.
- 19:59But when you're talking about a situation
- 20:01like this where a presidential candidate who's obviously
- 20:05getting threatened all the time
- 20:06is in the middle of an open field
- 20:09with an elevated position 130 yards away or whatever it was.
- 20:14To me,
- 20:14it just seems number one,
- 20:16completely insane that there wasn't an officer or somebody on
- 20:18that roof preventing anyone else from getting up there.
- 20:21I mean,
- 20:21am I overthinking this?
- 20:23No,
- 20:24you're not overthinking this at all.
- 20:25I mean,
- 20:26150 yards away,
- 20:27200 yards away,
- 20:28300 yards away,
- 20:29500 yards away,
- 20:30that's still within the threat envelope.
- 20:33Uh,
- 20:34any,
- 20:34anyone who's ever gone through any kind of like protective academy,
- 20:37whether that's Secret Service,
- 20:38DSS,
- 20:39US Marshals,
- 20:39what have you.
- 20:41Day one,
- 20:42year one,
- 20:42hour one is threat mitigation,
- 20:45right?
- 20:45Line of sight.
- 20:47And the fact that this shooter was only a,
- 20:49was only a uh a football field away
- 20:53from uh from a presidential candidate
- 20:55is absurd.
- 20:57And they can say all day long that they were,
- 20:59this was outside the perimeter and that this was local police's responsibility.
- 21:03The buck stops with the Secret Service.
- 21:05The buck stops with the Secret Service,
- 21:07so that that canopy should have been flagged.
- 21:09It should have been marked.
- 21:10It should have been deterred.
- 21:11It should have been.
- 21:12Completely on everyone's radar,
- 21:14and the fact that someone was able to
- 21:16drive in,
- 21:18carry a long run across the field,
- 21:20mount a roof,
- 21:20and then set up into a sniper perch is just unforgivable.
- 21:24It's incomprehensible that that happened
- 21:27and you know it's one of the reasons
- 21:29why there's so many crazy conspiracy theories going
- 21:31around immediately is because people jump to conclusions
- 21:33because they can't understand how this could happen.
- 21:35They picture the secret.
- 21:36Service as being the best in the world,
- 21:40how do you explain that to someone who's looking at this and saying,
- 21:42wait a minute,
- 21:42these guys are supposed to be top of the line
- 21:45and the best security anybody can get,
- 21:48and yet this obvious thing that I think the layman could understand,
- 21:51there's people just standing around saying,
- 21:53hey,
- 21:53there's somebody on the roof with a gun
- 21:55a minute and a half before the shooting happens,
- 21:57and somehow it still goes on.
- 21:59I mean how do we explain this?
- 22:02Yeah,
- 22:02the,
- 22:02so
- 22:03what my sources are telling me and what the
- 22:05agents who I have personal relationships with are,
- 22:08are,
- 22:08are,
- 22:08are saying to me
- 22:10is that this is not the fault of the agents on the ground.
- 22:13This is the fault of many echelons higher.
- 22:16That the Secret Service agents on the ground are
- 22:18overtasked,
- 22:19are,
- 22:20are overworked,
- 22:21they're not getting the assets they need
- 22:23when,
- 22:24you know,
- 22:24listen,
- 22:24we have the cap,
- 22:25the Secret Service has the capability
- 22:27to
- 22:28To protect anyone anywhere with almost like a 100 degree amount of certainty.
- 22:34What it then comes down to is how much resources and money are we going to invest
- 22:38into each one of these.
- 22:42Uh,
- 22:43events,
- 22:44right?
- 22:45Um,
- 22:45so I think what you saw was,
- 22:46uh,
- 22:47a lot of local and state police support,
- 22:49uh,
- 22:50being given to this event because so many
- 22:52Secret Service agents are in Milwaukee right now
- 22:54or are also in Chicago.
- 22:56It was very concerning to me to learn that the site survey was only done a day before
- 23:01when these are typically done weeks before,
- 23:04which means that the secret,
- 23:05the Secret Service agents,
- 23:06the detailed lead for that site
- 23:08was probably doing his walkthrough during the load-in.
- 23:12Which gives him no time to course correct or hey,
- 23:15this isn't good,
- 23:16or hey,
- 23:16what do we have here or what assets do I have available.
- 23:19And the fact that it was local police,
- 23:23uh,
- 23:23responsible for that outside,
- 23:26um,
- 23:27or for that,
- 23:27that,
- 23:28that,
- 23:28uh,
- 23:29farmhouse that was outside the perimeter,
- 23:31great,
- 23:32but then you also need to inspect what you expect.
- 23:34What is the communication plan?
- 23:36Is,
- 23:36does,
- 23:36does that outside local police department have the ability.
- 23:40To communicate directly
- 23:42with the Secret Service team,
- 23:43or do they have to go through multiple levels of,
- 23:46of communication before a decision can be finally made.
- 23:50And then,
- 23:50most upsetting,
- 23:51as CNN was reporting this morning,
- 23:53apparently the officers did,
- 23:55were alerted to that gunman on the roof,
- 23:57saw him,
- 23:58the gunman turned and aimed at that officer.
- 24:01And instead of the officer engaging that suspect,
- 24:04ducked and covered and protected himself instead.
- 24:06Yes,
- 24:06that's an interesting one.
- 24:07I mean,
- 24:07I'm not sure what to make of that yet just because,
- 24:10you know,
- 24:11I've heard different reports.
- 24:12One report I heard that he kind of just ducked.
- 24:14Another one I heard is he,
- 24:16when he saw the gun,
- 24:17he fell off the ladder,
- 24:18which might be a little bit,
- 24:19and it was only a few seconds I guess until the shots went out.
- 24:23It feels though like
- 24:25there's some effort to just blame the local police officers,
- 24:28and look,
- 24:29they might be at fault here.
- 24:30Um,
- 24:31it's certainly possible,
- 24:32but you're tasking them with an awful lot,
- 24:34and,
- 24:35you know,
- 24:35I,
- 24:35I just,
- 24:36I don't know.
- 24:37I,
- 24:37I feel like there,
- 24:37there might be a little bit of a blame game going on.
- 24:39Is that,
- 24:40do you think that's possible?
- 24:40There's 100% a blame game,
- 24:42and the bottom line is that the buck stops with the Secret Service.
- 24:44You can say,
- 24:45hey,
- 24:45I have attached an asset here,
- 24:48but if you are not,
- 24:49um,
- 24:51giving them back briefs,
- 24:52giving them task conditions and standards,
- 24:54letting them know exactly what it is that
- 24:56they're supposed to be doing when they're there,
- 24:58then it's no different than having like.
- 25:01Those guys at the yellow jackets at,
- 25:03at,
- 25:03at stadiums that are watching the game versus watching the crowd,
- 25:06right,
- 25:06right,
- 25:07um,
- 25:08which never makes any sense to me.
- 25:10Um,
- 25:12thinking of,
- 25:13I saw the,
- 25:13the,
- 25:14the Biden speech last night,
- 25:15and what,
- 25:16like I knew I wasn't going to like it.
- 25:17I'm not a,
- 25:17I'm not a Biden fan,
- 25:19um,
- 25:19but
- 25:20What I would have liked to have at least seen was something concrete.
- 25:23Hey,
- 25:24we're doubling protection.
- 25:25We're doubling the resources for all Trump events.
- 25:28We're going to start protecting RFK Jr.
- 25:31for example,
- 25:31with Secret Service protection.
- 25:34We got none of that.
- 25:35I mean,
- 25:35what are the concrete steps that could actually happen
- 25:38that would protect Trump and all these other candidates?
- 25:41To adhere to the actual standard that is already in place.
- 25:45One of the problems that we're running into is that they just don't have the,
- 25:49the assets available to them
- 25:51to do what they need to do in order to ensure the certainty for everyone involved.
- 25:56So what starts happening is we start chipping away,
- 25:58OK,
- 25:58you're not gonna have a 1 week advance,
- 25:59you're gonna have 1 day.
- 26:00You're not gonna have 100 agents,
- 26:02you're gonna have 10.
- 26:03You're not gonna have 5,
- 26:04you're not gonna have a counterassault team.
- 26:05We're gonna give you a,
- 26:06a local,
- 26:07uh,
- 26:07SWAT team to back up your play.
- 26:09And so what you start doing is the Secret Service is this really great vintage wine.
- 26:15But then you start adding water to it with all this,
- 26:17uh,
- 26:18delineation and all this,
- 26:19this,
- 26:19the spreading out of assets
- 26:21that they don't really have the capability to do.
- 26:24I bet if you,
- 26:25if you
- 26:25like went down and like audited,
- 26:27each agent was on that,
- 26:29on that detail that day and asked them the last time they got like a full 12 hours off,
- 26:33it would be a long time for almost all of them.
- 26:35Hm,
- 26:36fascinating.
- 26:36And,
- 26:37and can you give me
- 26:38I mean,
- 26:38a lot has been made about these videos as you see Trump kind of going from the podium
- 26:42over to the vehicle for him to exit,
- 26:45you know,
- 26:45there's some people who kind of seem like they don't know where they're going,
- 26:48they're not holstering their weapons properly.
- 26:50Like what do you make of that?
- 26:51Is that real?
- 26:53Yeah,
- 26:53that,
- 26:54that's a real concern.
- 26:55I thought the Secret Service agents on the ground that day did a
- 26:57very good job of covering the president once the threat was realized.
- 27:02What I had a real,
- 27:03a real concern with
- 27:05was
- 27:06the discombobulation and the miscommunication.
- 27:08You,
- 27:08you hear agents saying on you,
- 27:11OK,
- 27:11up and let's go.
- 27:12There,
- 27:12there's something in the protective world that's known as ambush relief syndrome,
- 27:16which is
- 27:17when you
- 27:18Let's say you're,
- 27:19you're,
- 27:19you're clearing a room and you take down one guy,
- 27:21and you kind of let your guard down because you think you neutralize the threat.
- 27:25You kind of leave your,
- 27:26you leave yourself vulnerable for follow-on
- 27:29attacks.
- 27:29And so the fact that they were kind of like very whimsical in,
- 27:32in,
- 27:32in uh letting President Trump kind of stand up and get his shoes and then give,
- 27:37you know,
- 27:37the fight sign,
- 27:38and then they kind of like walk him down to the car.
- 27:40And then they put them
- 27:41in the car on the passenger side instead of using the,
- 27:44the vehicle itself as cover.
- 27:46Like why wasn't that SUV like backed right up to the stage to add another element of,
- 27:51of protection?
- 27:51And I think this is one of those things where
- 27:54it's really easy to train in ideal situations and under ideal scenarios.
- 27:59It's something else entirely to do it under duress.
- 28:02And if you are not trained and capable to act under duress,
- 28:07as you are
- 28:08when you're not under duress,
- 28:09then.
- 28:10What you see is what we got.
- 28:12That's a great breakdown of all this.
- 28:14Spencer Corson,
- 28:14you've been doing this for years,
- 28:15threat management expert,
- 28:16founder of the Corson Security Group,
- 28:18and author of
- 28:19The Safety Trap,
- 28:20how you can
- 28:21apply a lot of the stuff that Spencer was talking about
- 28:24to your actual everyday life.
- 28:26It's a great book.
- 28:27You should definitely get it.
- 28:28Spencer,
- 28:28thanks so much for coming on the show,
- 28:29man.
- 28:29I appreciate it.
- 28:30My pleasure.
- 28:31Thank you.
- 28:39Well,
- 28:39there are those who lead and those who follow,
- 28:41and when you're going to buy or sell a home,
- 28:43you better get a leader.
- 28:44You don't want,
- 28:45you don't want a follower.
- 28:46In fact,
- 28:47you also don't want a leader who sucks at
- 28:48what they're doing because that doesn't help either.
- 28:50You need to get the best agent from,
- 28:52you know,
- 28:53your area,
- 28:53whether you're buying or selling a home.
- 28:55You've got to have someone representing you.
- 28:57Can't stress that enough.
- 28:58I mean,
- 28:59a lot of people just like take the agent that the seller has.
- 29:02That's my advice is don't do that.
- 29:04Get your own agent,
- 29:04someone who's going to fight for what you need out of a sale
- 29:08or a purchase.
- 29:09It's a real estate agents Irust.com.
- 29:11Whatever side of the transaction you're on,

- 29:34At the end of the radio show today,
- 29:35we got a call from a guy named Jesse,
- 29:36and he was at the rally
- 29:38where the incident happened with Donald Trump
- 29:40this weekend,
- 29:41and we had like 1 minute left in the show.
- 29:43And so I,
- 29:44I told him,
- 29:45hold on for a second,
- 29:45I need to talk to you
- 29:46off the air,
- 29:47and I wanted to bring that conversation
- 29:49to you.
- 29:49We went through kind of everything,
- 29:50his initial reactions,
- 29:51what he saw in the moment.
- 29:55Conversation.
- 29:58I wanna go to Jesse,
- 30:00who was at the rally
- 30:01for President Trump in Butler,
- 30:03Pennsylvania.
- 30:04Jesse,
- 30:05uh,
- 30:06give me a,
- 30:06give me a picture of what the day was like as you actually
- 30:11Major way to a rally that seemingly was going to
- 30:14be a normal day and and turned very tragic.
- 30:18Yeah,
- 30:18absolutely.
- 30:19Um,
- 30:20you know,
- 30:21it's funny,
- 30:21I,
- 30:21I,
- 30:21I immediately thought back to like September 11th.
- 30:24I've heard a lot of people say,
- 30:25oh,
- 30:25it was such a beautiful day.
- 30:27And that's exactly what it was here.
- 30:28I mean,
- 30:29it was,
- 30:29it was hot.
- 30:30It was,
- 30:30uh,
- 30:3192 degrees and,
- 30:32and,
- 30:33uh,
- 30:33but my goodness,
- 30:34the sun was shining.
- 30:34It was,
- 30:35it was beautiful.
- 30:36And that was my first thought,
- 30:37man,
- 30:37it,
- 30:38it is so nice out.
- 30:39And,
- 30:40uh,
- 30:40it took me about 2.5 hours to get through security.
- 30:44Um,
- 30:44you know,
- 30:45it was,
- 30:45it was just like walking through a metal detector,
- 30:47emptying your pockets.
- 30:49Um,
- 30:50but they did,
- 30:50nobody checked IDs,
- 30:51nobody checked for tickets,
- 30:53you know,
- 30:53like you had to confirm tickets online,
- 30:56but,
- 30:56uh,
- 30:57and it said,
- 30:57you know,
- 30:57I'll have this at the door whenever you get in,
- 30:59but nobody checked them.
- 31:00And
- 31:01once you got through security,
- 31:02like,
- 31:03After that it was just very,
- 31:05very unorganized.
- 31:06Like you could just wander about and,
- 31:08and,
- 31:08but again it,
- 31:09it was just
- 31:10farm show grounds,
- 31:11you know,
- 31:11it's like being at the fair basically
- 31:13and you've been to,
- 31:14uh,
- 31:14have you been to Trump rallies before?
- 31:15Was this similar to other situ you know,
- 31:18rallies?
- 31:19This one was different because there was a visible difference
- 31:23of less.
- 31:25Uh,
- 31:27Secret Service,
- 31:27I guess you could say.
- 31:28Like I,
- 31:28I've been to 3 of them in the past,
- 31:31and
- 31:31I mean,
- 31:32you have 40,000 people there
- 31:34and
- 31:34from what I could see,
- 31:36you only had 2 snipers on the roof.
- 31:38And,
- 31:38um,
- 31:39I was,
- 31:40I got to,
- 31:41uh,
- 31:41sit in the bleachers.
- 31:42I was about 10 to 15 ft
- 31:45to Trump's rear right in the bleachers.
- 31:48And,
- 31:48uh,
- 31:49when he came out,
- 31:50you know,
- 31:50I,
- 31:50uh,
- 31:50it was,
- 31:51it was amazing.
- 31:52It was,
- 31:52it was beautiful.
- 31:53And then,
- 31:53uh,
- 31:54You know,
- 31:55once I personally,
- 31:56I only heard 3 shots initially and then I heard multiple shots after that,
- 32:01which I would assume would be,
- 32:02you know,
- 32:03Secret Service,
- 32:03uh,
- 32:03sniper's engagement and,
- 32:06um,
- 32:07uh,
- 32:07the Secret Service tackled him so hard that,
- 32:10uh,
- 32:10Trump's shoes fell off.
- 32:12And,
- 32:12um,
- 32:13They held him down there for,
- 32:15for quite a while and then I heard,
- 32:17uh,
- 32:17a couple of the guys that were on top of him say,
- 32:19they kept repeating,
- 32:20Hawkeye is here,
- 32:21Hawkeye is here.
- 32:21Are we good to go?
- 32:23And,
- 32:23um,
- 32:24so then they stood him up
- 32:26and I couldn't see his face because his face was towards the crowd,
- 32:29but I could see his hand
- 32:30and it had blood on it.
- 32:31And I,
- 32:31I,
- 32:32I,
- 32:32I was,
- 32:33uh,
- 32:33I thought,
- 32:33dear God,
- 32:34please don't,
- 32:35please don't let anything bad happen.
- 32:37And,
- 32:37um,
- 32:38But,
- 32:39uh,
- 32:39once they got him up,
- 32:40then I saw him
- 32:41stop and put his fist up.
- 32:42I could see his fist go up
- 32:44and,
- 32:44uh,
- 32:45then everybody started chanting USA and cheering and everything.
- 32:48And,
- 32:49um,
- 32:49there were,
- 32:50I was in the center set of bleachers behind the
- 32:52podium and then there was a set of bleachers to,
- 32:54to the left and a set of bleachers to the right.
- 32:57And on the far ends of both of those,
- 33:00uh,
- 33:00bleachers,
- 33:01those are where the other victims were that,
- 33:03that got hit with gunfire.
- 33:05And,
- 33:05um,
- 33:06the right set of bleachers like the police and,
- 33:09and Secret Service,
- 33:10they evacuated those people immediately.
- 33:12And then the left side bleachers,
- 33:14um,
- 33:15it took a little bit longer,
- 33:17like maybe,
- 33:17maybe within 2 or 3 minutes,
- 33:19they evacuated them,
- 33:20but us in the back set of bleachers,
- 33:22they held us there for about 10 or 15 minutes.
- 33:24And then they said,
- 33:25you know,
- 33:25at this point,
- 33:26they don't know if there's multiple shooters or not.
- 33:28And so
- 33:29they said,
- 33:30um,
- 33:30you know,
- 33:31go ahead and evacuate,
- 33:32but stay low,
- 33:33stay low.
- 33:33So like we,
- 33:34we had to like bend over as we were leaving.
- 33:36And,
- 33:37um,
- 33:37there were two hydraulic lifts.
- 33:39They look like forklifts,
- 33:40but they,
- 33:41they lift up and go about like 20 ft in the air
- 33:44on either side.
- 33:45There was one on the left,
- 33:46one on the right,
- 33:46and they had these giant speakers,
- 33:48uh,
- 33:48suspended on them.
- 33:50And the hydraulic lift on the left side,
- 33:52uh,
- 33:54I'm supposing it got hit by gunfire because it dropped immediately.
- 33:58And,
- 33:58uh,
- 33:59thank goodness it dropped straight down because if it would have tilted over,
- 34:02it,
- 34:02it would have crushed those people in that set of bleachers there.
- 34:05But when,
- 34:05as we were leaving,
- 34:06there was hydraulic fluid all over the ground.
- 34:08Oh my God.
- 34:09And so walk me through this moment when these,
- 34:12when the shots actually,
- 34:14uh,
- 34:14you hear them.
- 34:15I mean,
- 34:16is,
- 34:16were you scared for your own safety?
- 34:18Were you just thinking about the president?
- 34:21What were you,
- 34:22what was going through your mind in that moment?
- 34:25At that exact moment that I,
- 34:27all I could think because like,
- 34:28Trump dropped down directly in front of us and I thought,
- 34:31dear God,
- 34:31I hope he didn't get hit.
- 34:32And,
- 34:33and,
- 34:34It wasn't until
- 34:36Secret Service started screaming.
- 34:38There were,
- 34:38there were Secret Service and then there was also state police and they,
- 34:41they were yelling,
- 34:42Everybody get down,
- 34:43everybody get down.
- 34:44And,
- 34:44um,
- 34:45within seconds,
- 34:46my son,
- 34:47uh,
- 34:48and my wife started calling me and
- 34:50I you know,
- 34:50I,
- 34:51the,
- 34:51uh,
- 34:52the president's been hit,
- 34:53you know,
- 34:53I,
- 34:53I,
- 34:53I can't talk.
- 34:54They,
- 34:54they have us all laying on the ground and,
- 34:56and,
- 34:56uh,
- 34:57but I mean,
- 34:57it,
- 34:59looking back on it,
- 35:00it happened so fast.
- 35:01It was so surreal that,
- 35:02I mean,
- 35:04You just didn't have time to think,
- 35:05you know what I mean?
- 35:06Yeah,
- 35:07uh,
- 35:07Jesse,
- 35:07give me your sense of the lay of the land.
- 35:09I mean,
- 35:10when you,
- 35:10knowing obviously now what happened,
- 35:12how crazy is it to you that there wasn't Secret Service presence
- 35:16or police presence on the building where the shooter actually wound up?
- 35:20Oh my goodness,
- 35:21that,
- 35:22that's totally insane.
- 35:24Uh,
- 35:24that,
- 35:24it doesn't make sense to me at all.
- 35:26Like whenever you went through security,
- 35:28at first when they announced he was coming,
- 35:30I thought that they were gonna have him.
- 35:31There's a small landing strip for like small little C Cessna planes
- 35:35at the,
- 35:36at the far end of the farm showgrounds.
- 35:38I thought that they were gonna have him down there because it's all open,
- 35:41you know,
- 35:42and,
- 35:42and,
- 35:42um,
- 35:44But they had him at the opposite end.
- 35:46And I thought that was kind of strange because there's like a little bit of
- 35:49dip that goes down into a valley kind of thing and there's a small pond
- 35:53and,
- 35:53uh,
- 35:54the grandstand where they have like tractor pools and stuff like that.
- 35:57And then they have those barns over to the side.
- 36:00Um,
- 36:01there's,
- 36:01there are 3 barns behind where the president was.
- 36:04And then there was a set of
- 36:06tents that were in between the barns and,
- 36:09and
- 36:10like the stage area where,
- 36:12where we were at.
- 36:13Um,
- 36:13And then
- 36:14to the immediate right of that is,
- 36:17is the AGR building and that,
- 36:19that's where the,
- 36:20uh,
- 36:20the shooter was at.
- 36:21But I mean,
- 36:22there's a fence that is there.
- 36:24And granted,
- 36:25like I,
- 36:25I've heard on the news and things like that,
- 36:27that,
- 36:27oh,
- 36:27well,
- 36:28he didn't have to go through security.
- 36:29He wasn't in the perimeter,
- 36:30but
- 36:31my goodness,
- 36:32you could throw a football
- 36:33to where that building was,
- 36:35you know,
- 36:35like it,
- 36:36it
- 36:36just doesn't make any sense to me.
- 36:39That is just,
- 36:39I mean just visually,
- 36:41they keep showing these over the head,
- 36:42you know,
- 36:42overhead maps and everything,
- 36:44and it looks completely absurd from,
- 36:46from,
- 36:46from that perspective.
- 36:47I can't imagine what it looked like,
- 36:50uh,
- 36:50you know,
- 36:50being there in person.
- 36:51I mean it just doesn't seem like it was even
- 36:54that difficult a shot for someone with any basic training.
- 36:58No,
- 36:58I mean,
- 36:59if,
- 36:59if you had any,
- 37:00you could have got like a $35 optic and,
- 37:02and still been able to make the shot.
- 37:04I mean,
- 37:04it's,
- 37:05it,
- 37:05it's ridiculous that they didn't have somebody there.
- 37:09Uh,
- 37:10last one for you here,
- 37:11Jesse,
- 37:12you have the moment where the shots ring out,
- 37:14you watch and you fear for the president,
- 37:16you're getting these panicked calls from your family.
- 37:18I mean,
- 37:18this is the craziest moment,
- 37:21but
- 37:21as,
- 37:22what is your feeling as you see Trump rise up
- 37:26and start pumping his fists and yelling fight,
- 37:30does,
- 37:30I mean,
- 37:31does it change from fear to elation immediately?
- 37:34What is,
- 37:34what is that moment like for you?
- 37:37There was a moment where I was like,
- 37:40OK,
- 37:41we still at this point,
- 37:42we don't know how many people there are.
- 37:44We don't know how many shooters there are or anything like that.
- 37:46So like,
- 37:47yeah,
- 37:47he raises his fist and you want to celebrate,
- 37:49you want to be happy,
- 37:50but at the same time,
- 37:51you're like,
- 37:51I need to keep Duck down.
- 37:53And
- 37:54there is no doubt,
- 37:55no doubt in my mind
- 37:57that the good Lord was watching over him because like,
- 38:00if he would have turned his head just slightly,
- 38:02it,
- 38:02it,
- 38:02it would have been a different story.
- 38:04And I,
- 38:04and I praise the Lord that,
- 38:06that,
- 38:06that it didn't happen.
- 38:08Jesse,
- 38:08I'm so glad you're OK,
- 38:10and the president's OK,
- 38:11and most people,
- 38:12at least in the audience are OK with
- 38:15unfortunately,
- 38:16tragic exceptions to that,
- 38:18but Jesse,
- 38:18thanks so much for giving us
- 38:19a a a a window into what it must have been like in,
- 38:22in a truly historic event.
- 38:24Has it set into you that you were,
- 38:26you were there and something that people are gonna remember forever?
- 38:29The,
- 38:30that evening whenever I got home,
- 38:32I'm like,
- 38:33no,
- 38:33like I,
- 38:33I,
- 38:35this can't happen in our little town.
- 38:36I mean,
- 38:37Butler,
- 38:37Butler City has 13,000 people in it.
- 38:39Butler County only has 120,000 people in it.
- 38:42And
- 38:43we,
- 38:43uh,
- 38:44uh,
- 38:44this is 100% Trump country.
- 38:46I mean,
- 38:47every building,
- 38:48every business has Trump signs all,
- 38:50uh,
- 38:50you know,
- 38:50we love them.
- 38:51And,
- 38:52and,
- 38:52um,
- 38:54We just haven't got to the point that,
- 38:56uh,
- 38:56I still haven't just realized it yet,
- 38:58I guess.
- 38:59Well,
- 38:59even your dog seems to love him,
- 39:00so that's a,
- 39:01that's a good sign.
- 39:02Jesse,
- 39:03thanks so much,
- 39:03man.
- 39:03I appreciate it.
- 39:05Thank you.
- 39:13Take a moment and stop what you're doing and listen,
- 39:15listen to this.
- 39:16Your God-given freedoms are up for the taking.
- 39:19Even worse,
- 39:19those doing the taking are the same people who are sworn
- 39:22to defend your freedom in some cases,
- 39:24and they think they can violate your right to protect your own family.
- 39:27They think they can force their delusions onto your children,
- 39:31and they think they can control the media and hide the truth,
- 39:33but
- 39:34you know what they can't take away?
- 39:35Self-reliance,
- 39:36peace of mind.

- 40:39we're in the middle of our taping and we do get breaking news from the president,
- 40:42uh,
- 40:42former President Donald J.
- 40:44Trump on true social rights after a lengthy deliberation and thought,
- 40:46after considering the tremendous talents of many others.
- 40:49I've decided that the person best suited to assume
- 40:51the position of Vice President of the United States is
- 40:53Senator JD Vance of the great state
- 40:56of Ohio.
- 40:57Uh,
- 40:57JD Vance honorably served our country in the Marine Corps,
- 41:00graduated from Ohio State
- 41:02in 2 years.
- 41:03Summa cum laude,
- 41:04a Yale Law School graduate,
- 41:06editor of the Yale Law Journal,
- 41:08president of the Yale Law Veterans Association,
- 41:11Hillbilly Elegy,
- 41:11of course,
- 41:12a major bestseller,
- 41:13uh,
- 41:14as we,
- 41:14as we know,
- 41:15uh,
- 41:16went on to go,
- 41:17uh,
- 41:17talk about.
- 41:19He will help make the uh make America great again,
- 41:21so congratulations to JD Vance and his wife.
- 41:24His wife is going to be a,
- 41:25a positive for this campaign as well.
- 41:28She's very,
- 41:28very likable.
- 41:29Um,
- 41:30so this is really interesting.
- 41:31He does mention in there at the in the first clip
- 41:34talking about the states,
- 41:35uh,
- 41:35and do I have the list in front of me here.
- 41:37He mentions specifically,
- 41:39and this is something that I've talked to you before.
- 41:41It didn't seem like there was a direct tie to electoral,
- 41:45you know,
- 41:45gains from JD Vance,
- 41:46like,
- 41:47oh,
- 41:47Ohio,
- 41:47he's going to win Ohio anyway.
- 41:48But look at what he mentions there.
- 41:50He says Pennsylvania,
- 41:51Michigan,
- 41:52Wisconsin,
- 41:53Ohio,
- 41:53Minnesota,
- 41:54and far beyond.
- 41:55Those states are states that are many of them border Ohio,
- 41:58of course,
- 41:59in that same region,
- 42:00but also the region that his book specifically talked
- 42:04about and talked about the problems of that region.
- 42:07I do think there's electoral benefit with him talking to
- 42:10that Rust Belt area.
- 42:12And also Donald Trump needs to win one of
- 42:14those states if he wants to become president.
- 42:16So
- 42:17that part of it is interesting.
- 42:19The second part of it is he's very good on television,
- 42:21very good arguing.
- 42:22He is a bulldog.
- 42:23He can go get you,
- 42:24but he's also very,
- 42:25very smart.
- 42:26He's not just wild with his claims,
- 42:27even though I know the left would disagree with that analysis.
- 42:30And in addition,
- 42:31he's 39 years old,
- 42:33and I think it's an interesting pick.
- 42:35It's also the pick I've talked to you many times that if I were Donald Trump,
- 42:38it is the pick that I would have made.
- 42:40It is the best legacy pick as far as an
- 42:42alignment of policy with one of these VP contenders,
- 42:46and it sets him up for Trumpism to not be a two-term thing.
- 42:51It could be something that goes on and on and on.
- 42:53Some of you might not like that.
- 42:55There are certain aspects of it I definitely don't like.
- 42:57There's some of the aspects I do like,
- 42:59but JD Vance is a pretty good VP candidate,
- 43:02and I think with everything that's gone on,
- 43:04it enabled Donald Trump to be a little more bold with this pick.
- 43:07That's the way he went.
- 43:08JD Vance will be the VP.
- 43:10I will have more breakdown of this on YouTube.com/studiosamerican.
- 43:13I'm going to go live here after my taping
- 43:15and lay this out in more detail,
- 43:16but go check it out there.
- 43:18Back in a second.

- 43:24on podcast with the State of the Race podcast,
- 43:27you'll get more VP analysis,
