• 0:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
• 0:17
SPEAKER_00: Kind of leading to the show.
• 0:20
SPEAKER_00: Show us your hips, Jack.
• 0:21
SPEAKER_00: Do a little twerk in action.
• 0:22
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 0:23
SPEAKER_02: Too much Texas two-step, Jack?
• 0:25
SPEAKER_03: I think just too much running, too much baseball.
• 0:28
SPEAKER_03: You know, I I quit playing baseball just a couple years ago.
• 0:31
  SPEAKER_01: So wow, yeah.
• 0:32
  SPEAKER_01: Did you really?
• 0:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 0:34
SPEAKER_01: What were you were you uh like on a uh club team, some yeah, I played on men's teams, you know, kind of my whole life.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_03: I I played from the time I was three years old uh until I was uh into my 70s.
• 0:48
  SPEAKER_01: Really?
• 0:49
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 0:49
  SPEAKER_01: That's that's I didn't know that I there's still hope for me.
• 0:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there is.
• 0:54
  SPEAKER_01: There you go, yeah.
• 0:55
SPEAKER_01: But very little, but there's some patient zero over here.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, Jack, are you feeling okay?
• 0:59
  SPEAKER_01: Can you walk?
• 1:01
SPEAKER_03: Uh I can kind of walk, yeah.
• 1:02
  SPEAKER_03: I it it's not so bad.
• 1:04
SPEAKER_03: I mean, right now I I kind of forget about it when I'm sitting down.
• 1:07
SPEAKER_03: When I go to walk, it's kind of stiff and dense, but uh, you know, it's gonna be better.
• 1:12
  SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be a lot better.
• 1:13
SPEAKER_02: Was it like you said, you were kind of you went in in the morning, you got out in the afternoon?
• 1:17
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I got there at seven in the morning and uh was back home by five.
• 1:26
SPEAKER_03: It was harder on my wife because I was asleep for about two hours during that time.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_03: Oh, you got a nap.
• 1:31
  SPEAKER_03: She didn't.
• 1:32
  SPEAKER_01: She didn't, yeah.
• 1:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the drugs must be really good out there in California.
• 1:37
  SPEAKER_03: There's plenty of them, I think.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: There's no doubt about it.
• 1:41
SPEAKER_00: Let me let me interject something.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_00: Jack, you sent us uh your your latest book, one of your books.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: My wife did read it, she enjoyed it.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_00: She won't tell me the ending because she says I have to read it.
• 1:49
  SPEAKER_00: So great.
• 1:50
  SPEAKER_00: Appreciate that.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_03: Well that's nice of you to say that, and I appreciate it.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, Jack, um, let's talk about cars, shall we?
• 1:57
SPEAKER_01: I understand that the Detroit Auto Show is next up on the on the big list of places to go, and they've actually got a few more people that are showing displays.
• 2:06
  SPEAKER_01: That's good news.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think they have something like 40 brands.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_03: Uh I I think it was the latest I saw in communication from them.
• 2:12
SPEAKER_03: We at North American Car of the Year are excited about the Detroit show because we announce our uh Car of the Year, sport Sport Utility of the Year and Truck of the Year.
• 2:21
SPEAKER_03: It uh basically the first thing that happens at uh the Detroit Auto Show, so it's a pretty exciting time for us.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_01: But is that does that actually happen before the doors open to the public?
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it does.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_03: They have a media day.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_03: Um and uh it kind of kicks off the media day.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_01: Do you want me to come and walk wheel you around there?
• 2:39
  SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll I'll share that.
• 2:41
SPEAKER_03: You know, I'm not certain I'm gonna go.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_03: I just given the fact that uh I'm uh not sure about getting on an airplane in two weeks' time, but uh maybe we'll see.
• 2:50
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, so let's talk about the ID buzz that Volkswagen has just said, we're not bringing it to the U.S.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_01: next year.
• 2:59
SPEAKER_01: We only sold eleven hundred.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's one of those things where uh, you know, uh money means so much.
• 3:07
SPEAKER_03: I I people don't grasp, and I I even a lot of car journalists don't grasp you know how important the retail price of these things is.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_03: And you know, that's a cool vehicle.
• 3:17
SPEAKER_03: I think a lot of us like a lot of things about it.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_03: There's some things about it that many of us don't like it too and kind of irritating.
• 3:23
SPEAKER_03: But it's just very expensive, right?
• 3:26
SPEAKER_03: I mean it's that's the bottom line with that thing.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_03: It's cool, but you know, eighty thousand dollars for that thing.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm not sure anybody's gonna say that for that very many very utilitarian for expeditions eighty thousand dollars actually more than that.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_01: Uh it's much more utilitarian than ID Moses.
• 3:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, absolutely true.
• 3:51
  SPEAKER_03: Absolutely true.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_03: I mean the prices of things are just kind of blowing me away.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_03: I was I was in Dallas in Fort Worth uh last weekend actually my uh middle daughter got married in Fort Worth, and we were driving around an electric electric terrific vehicle.
• 4:18
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think that it's really 120 grams.
• 5:08
SPEAKER_03: I think we're going to get a much more affordable car, at least a little bit as we go forward.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_01: I have a feeling that there's going to be a number of car companies that are going to go really hard because the prices are vehicles.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_01: I mean, they can't sell enough of them to support the company itself because they're so high price to drive people out.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_01: Wait just a minute.
• 5:44
SPEAKER_01: If I thought I'm gonna spend fifty thousand dollars on that car, I can go over here and spend forty-five thousand dollars and get a lot more content on this car over there.
• 5:55
SPEAKER_01: The five thousand dollar thing, when it gets down to it, I think that that could be a real deal breaker, don't you?
• 6:01
  SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
• 6:02
SPEAKER_03: I think a lot the smart money for a lot of people is in two or three-year-old cars coming off lease, right?
• 6:07
SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh, they've got a lot of useful life in them, and they're significantly less expensive than a new one, and your neighbor won't know the difference, right?
• 6:15
SPEAKER_03: Your neighbor's not gonna see the odometer.
• 6:17
SPEAKER_03: So um I think that's uh that's where the smart money is going these days.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what that's where we were with the whole uh POVET thing.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_01: Uh people we we couldn't afford it, couldn't find find anything new to buy that we could afford.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_01: So we went to used, and there was a big deficit in finding cars that were coming off lease because everybody was snapping them up.
• 6:40
SPEAKER_01: You think that that's gonna happen again?
• 6:41
SPEAKER_03: Well, I think we're uh coming out of uh that whole uh valley of car production that was COVID-caused, right?
• 6:48
SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh there was a big drop in in cars that were produced three or four years ago in the midst of COVID, I mean, because they shut down factories and didn't let car companies make cars.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_03: And we're still coming out of that, and so that affects the the supply of these late model used cars, and that's where a lot a lot of the smart money goes.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_03: So that drives the prices up there because uh there's relatively few of them uh comparatively.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_01: Well, let's let's talk just a minute, Shift Gears, uh, about uh uh the tariff thing that uh apparently is going to be reviewed uh again, and now we're gonna throw in the USMC thing.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_01: Is that what it is?
• 7:28
SPEAKER_01: The Mexico-Canada agreement with the tariffs and all of that, that's gonna be up in the air, and that's coming up pretty quickly here in January, I understand.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think that uh and it's I think it's likely that instead of making it a a trilateral, you know, uh a deal between Mexico, Canada, and us, we would make separate deals, the United States would make separate deals with Mexico and Canada.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_03: Maybe those are easier to negotiate.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_03: I think uh in a lot of ways, this has been good for American manufacturing.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_03: Uh we've certainly seen a lot more investment here.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_03: We've seen uh production shift from Canada, uh say, for things like the Jeep Compass uh back to Illinois.
• 8:08
  SPEAKER_03: Uh so that's interesting.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh the uh the uh other countries are not real wild about it, but I think Americans uh given a choice would like to buy cars made by Americans in America.
• 8:22
  SPEAKER_01: I agree.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_01: And I think that it gives us a little uh, as far as American cars are concerned, a little bit of an advantage because what the way that the market seems to me today, what's offered by European, Asian, and American vehicles, we've reached kind of a uh a plateau where everything is kind of on an even keel.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_01: You don't find really bad cars anymore.
• 8:48
SPEAKER_01: If you do, they get called out and they don't sell and they stop making them.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_01: But it that's rare these days.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's because they have so many recalls.
• 8:55
SPEAKER_01: Well, people don't have those anymore.
• 8:58
SPEAKER_01: There are some American car makers that do have a problem with recalls, and I think it's hurting their sales, but I think that that too will even itself out eventually.
• 9:07
SPEAKER_02: Um But that goes back into to the manufacturer's processes, not necessarily the the the quality of the tools or the the the material that they're using for parts.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_02: I mean, if you got a bad process that lets things slip through and your quality checks aren't there, then you you're gonna have to change that.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I think the complication of cars too.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm concerned, uh I don't know that anybody else talks about this, but I'm concerned about all the turbocharged cars that are going into the market these days.
• 9:40
SPEAKER_03: I think they're likely to be have less longevity than the the typical normally aspirated car uh or truck.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_03: And uh they uh manufacturers are essentially forced to do that by fuel economy regulations that have since been rescinded.
• 9:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh but there's a bunch a ton of them out there, and we're seeing a lot of hybrids.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_03: I most hybrids are fairly bulletproof, but you see some issues with them too.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_03: Uh again, the more complicated I think the drivetrain is, uh the more potential problems you have.
• 10:11
SPEAKER_02: Well, and to that point, my brother's got a ram truck, turbo diesel, 150,000, 60,000 miles on it, whatever, whatever.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_02: And he has started having a problem, took it to the dealership where he always had it serviced.
• 10:25
  SPEAKER_02: Problem with the turbo.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_02: Well, they can't fix it, they have to replace it.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_02: You know, six thousand dollars to to go in there and replace the turbo, and it comes as a kit and all this other stuff, because they can't fix it.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_02: They just take it off and put a new one on.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_02: And and you take even at a regular level, even if you don't have the turbocharger, you got ten or twelve, maybe even twenty different computer systems running on the car.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_02: Where in the world you start looking.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, I I've had some electrical problems in a very old vehicle I've had for a long time, and just tracking down, you know, where uh where where is the power going, right?
• 11:04
SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh to the point where I have it on a trickle charger a lot of times these days, just to uh get around the city.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_01: Well, I I could certainly relate to that.
• 11:12
  SPEAKER_01: I had a problem with my old 2001 Corvette, and I wouldn't hold a charge.
• 11:18
SPEAKER_01: I mean, the most I could go is a week of it sitting around, but by then it would barely start, and I thought, okay, I've had enough of this, I'm gonna track this down.
• 11:28
SPEAKER_01: As it turns out, after spending several thousand dollars, it turned out to be uh the seat, the driver's seat, called a sports seat in 2001, and it had some sort of short in it somewhere, and it was draining the battery.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_01: My answer was get rid of the seats.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_01: So out the seat went, I bought I bought me a pair of Corbos, they're absolutely great, they're cloth, they look good, they fit good, solved all the problems.
• 11:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 11:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 11:58
SPEAKER_01: So I mean, there are there are issues that come up on an old car.
• 12:03
SPEAKER_01: I understand that, but I think that there are other ways around that.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_01: Uh if I had a turbocharger problem and it was going to cost me five thousand dollars, I would definitely start looking around and see what the alternate alternatives would be when it came to buying an uh an alternative diesel vehicle.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we have a lot of uh, you know, just very exotic uh powertrain vehicles out there that are gonna be used cars that I don't think the typical used car buyer is gonna want to have, right?
• 12:29
SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh electric vehicle is number one.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_02: Sure.
• 12:33
SPEAKER_03: Who who lives in a uh apartment building uh in a city uh wants to have an electric car?
• 12:40
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you have to use public charging to charge it.
• 12:43
SPEAKER_03: It's just not a good situation at all for those people.
• 12:47
SPEAKER_03: Um and those are the kind of people who buy used vehicles and and older used vehicles.
• 12:52
SPEAKER_03: So I I don't know what's gonna happen with all of those.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_03: And the more exotic cars I love.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_03: Do they do those folks want cars with uh turbocharged engines?
• 13:00
  SPEAKER_03: Do they want hybrids?
• 13:01
SPEAKER_03: I uh probably neither of those, really.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_02: Well, in in regards to the EVs, biggest question I get out of people when they start thinking about buying one, because that's what they hear on the news, is how much is it gonna cost me to replace the battery if the battery goes bad in a year or two after I bought it?
• 13:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_02: You know, it it used to be range anxiety, now it's battery longevity anxiety, it seems to me, that's is what's gonna hold that back.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_01: Well, for my issues, it was all about the charger plug, that apparently now everything's going to be just the charger plug.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_01: I get a vehicle, not gonna tell you which one, Jack.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_01: You probably already know by the smile on your face.
• 13:39
SPEAKER_01: I get a vehicle, then the usual Don Armstrong 110-volt charger is not in the vehicle.
• 13:46
  SPEAKER_01: What is it?
• 13:48
SPEAKER_01: It is a plug that goes on the plug to be able to adapt to where what I need what oh you that this will do it work.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_01: No, it won't, because it doesn't use a fast charger, it uses a level two charger.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, where do I go for that?
• 14:06
SPEAKER_01: No, you can't go there.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_01: Uh like shell recharge, right?
• 14:10
SPEAKER_01: Can't use that because it doesn't match up.
• 14:14
SPEAKER_01: It was an absolute, again, nightmare trying to find a charging for this thing.
• 14:19
SPEAKER_01: And um, no, I'm good on the electrics.
• 14:22
SPEAKER_01: Give me a give me a hybrid or give me a gasoline motor, I'm good.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_01: Five minutes at the gasoline stop, and uh, I've got you know 400 miles on the range anxiety meter on my gasoline-powered car.
• 14:36
  SPEAKER_01: It's great.
• 14:37
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 14:38
SPEAKER_01: So, Jack, uh, you're gonna have a good Christmas, my friend?
• 14:41
  SPEAKER_03: I'm hoping so.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_03: I, you know, not gonna do too much running around, I imagine.
• 14:44
SPEAKER_03: But my daughters are coming into town, so that's great.
• 14:47
SPEAKER_03: And like I say, one of them just got married, so her husband is coming too.
• 14:52
  SPEAKER_03: That's very cool.
• 14:52
SPEAKER_03: They're they're flying back from the Dominican Republic, probably as we speak.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_03: They're flying into Fort Worth.
• 14:58
SPEAKER_03: So uh, you know, we will see them uh a little later later this week, this coming week.
• 15:04
SPEAKER_01: We uh we offer you a speedy recovery, my friend.
• 15:08
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_01: Hey, when when when should you be back uh painless and ready to go?
• 15:13
SPEAKER_03: They say that I can play tennis and that kind of stuff in three months or so.
• 15:17
SPEAKER_03: Um I'm thinking that maybe I can accelerate that a little bit.
• 15:21
SPEAKER_03: I I go out in the backyard and swing the bat pretty much every day, so I'm gonna miss that for the next two or three months, but uh we'll see what happens.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's always a pleasure to talk to you, Jack.
• 15:32
  SPEAKER_01: We'd love to.
• 15:33
SPEAKER_03: So great to talk to you guys.
• 15:34
  SPEAKER_03: I appreciate it.
• 15:34
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, always go back and uh and get in a relaxed position somewhere and turn on the TV for the.
• 15:41
  SPEAKER_01: There you go.
• 15:41
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we've got a lot of football games to watch today, yeah.
• 15:44
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 15:45
  SPEAKER_01: All right.

SPEAKER_01: Jack, we'll talk to you again.

SPEAKER_01: My mind is racing at the 400 miles an hour.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_01: Time now for Jeff's car culture.
• 18:04
SPEAKER_01: Five things that could be against the law while driving your RV.
• 18:09
  SPEAKER_00: That's right.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_00: An RV living and travel are booming like never before.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_00: According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, there is one out there.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_00: There are now more than 11 million households in the United States with an RV.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_00: There's at least tens of thousands more people to the open road each year.
• 18:27
SPEAKER_00: RVing is free, adventurous, and comfortable.
• 18:29
SPEAKER_00: Yet there are a variety of rules to keep the traveler and the local community safe from you and them and clean as well.
• 18:36
  SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
• 18:37
SPEAKER_00: Driving an overweight RV is wrong.
• 18:40
  SPEAKER_00: It's against the law.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_00: You'll have a weight limit to prevent any accidents.
• 18:44
SPEAKER_00: Based on recent waste station inspections at RV rallies, more than 85% of the RVs exceeded gross vehicle weight capacity recommendations.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_00: Just overloaded too much stuff in it.
• 18:55
SPEAKER_00: The risk is overloading, the risk of overloading can be summed up in the fact that overloading compromises braking, handling, and tire safety, which increases the chances of accidents.
• 19:06
SPEAKER_00: The overweight vehicles are heavily penalized by most states refined and are prohibited from traveling further until their fault is.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_01: That reminds me of the Isle of Lucy movie, the long, long flavor, where can you be loaded up all the rocks along the flash.
• 19:21
SPEAKER_00: That was out recently, too.
• 19:22
SPEAKER_00: Using the bathroom while the RV is moving, although it may not seem like a significant issue, using the restroom or walking around an RV in motion may be against the law in most states.
• 19:32
SPEAKER_00: There are differences in laws depending on where one lives, but there are many mainly concerns relative to safety anytime, and one may be um in a vehicle with abruptly stop or hit a road bump and might result in injuries.
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 19:51
SPEAKER_00: Belting up and sitting will be required when the car is moving on the road.
• 19:55
SPEAKER_00: So you've got to put a seatbelt on that forward.
• 19:58
  SPEAKER_00: Belt itself traffic.
• 20:00
  SPEAKER_00: Settle down there.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_00: Alrighty, and don't eat burritos before you go.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_00: No, but the next one is uh parking your IV or IV, your IV.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_00: That would be for me.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_00: The Don Arms IV wagon.
• 20:11
SPEAKER_00: A residential street or driveway.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_00: Many local ordinances prohibit the overnight parking of RVs on residential curbs or even in driveways.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_00: Now, my stepfather had a Winnipeg when we park on the driveway.
• 20:23
SPEAKER_00: We didn't care because it was allowed.
• 20:25
SPEAKER_00: In other cities, parking an RV in front of your house or a street or driveway can result in fines or even towing.
• 20:31
SPEAKER_00: Specific neighborhoods require permits limiting the parking duration.
• 20:36
SPEAKER_00: These regulations aim to control neighborhood congestion and preserve the neighborhood aesthetics.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_00: Although we prefer to park near home, RV owners should review existing laws and consider alternatives like RV parks or storage areas.
• 20:49
  SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of those around.
• 20:51
SPEAKER_00: Driving with the propane on.
• 20:53
  SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_00: Another subject is uh a lot of controversy is towing or RVing your RV with propane tanks on.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_00: It is permitted in most states, but certain states impose restrictions in specific conditions such as time due to the risk of fire explosions.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_00: Such safety advocates sound warnings of the dangers posed by propane leaks or accidents.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_00: If you got a leak in the RV, you could die.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_00: I mean you could use asphyxiate yourself.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_00: So keeping that off is is a good thing for the RVers.
• 21:25
SPEAKER_00: Next one aren't using helium.
• 21:27
  SPEAKER_00: That's why that's what I say.
• 21:28
SPEAKER_00: Or other type of gases.
• 21:30
SPEAKER_00: Well, strap yourself into the commode there.
• 21:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 21:33
SPEAKER_00: Boondocking is prohibited in many areas.
• 21:37
SPEAKER_00: Boondocking, overnight camping without hookups or unmarked areas is becoming increasingly common.
• 21:43
SPEAKER_00: So you take your creeper van or whatever, you just park in somebody's house overnight.
• 21:46
  SPEAKER_00: That's that's called boondocking.
• 21:48
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 21:48
SPEAKER_00: Um in restricted areas and owned and privately owned lands.
• 21:52
  SPEAKER_00: It's not it's it's against the law.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_00: National Forests and Forest Services declared that dispersing camp camping and specific regulations at the time of restrictions.
• 22:01
SPEAKER_00: Violators risk fines and are forced removal.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_00: By adhering to these regulations, the natural spaces can be maintained, and no tensions with the locals or landowners can be created.
• 22:11
SPEAKER_00: So always know where you're gonna park it.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_00: Don't just pull up to somewhere and throw your chair out there and flush your commode and all that stuff.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a lot of people used to, while they were traveling, use Walmart or Kmart parking lots overnight.
• 22:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yep, exactly.
• 22:25
SPEAKER_00: I think some folks still do.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_00: Ignoring speed uh seatbelt laws for passengers, even though being inside the RV may resemble being at home and a household on wheels, seat belts are required.
• 22:35
SPEAKER_00: This also includes items like the seat belts on the couches or benches benches while they have been installed.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_00: So all the all the uh gray matter in the vehicle in the containers don't just leave the valves open and continue to to drive down the road.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of stuff.
• 22:56
  SPEAKER_00: Be careful.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_00: Uh you will get caught, and then we'll find you.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_01: You were talking about uh overweight RVs?
• 23:02
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 23:03
SPEAKER_00: Oh that well, in some cases, if you got your mother-in-law in there, they'll count, though.
• 23:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_01: So uh we're doing the drag racing tour.
• 23:11
SPEAKER_01: We've got, you know, obviously a great big huge tractor trailer rig.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_01: Got two cars in it, five engines.
• 23:18
SPEAKER_01: Um it's loaded to the absolute hilt.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_01: And it always was 10,000 pounds overweight.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_01: And I don't know how many thousands of dollars they had to spend on tickets.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_01: Because you know, you see these truckers and stations along the highway, and all the truckers are over there because they're gonna get weight.
• 23:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 23:39
  SPEAKER_01: Well, they got caught.
• 23:41
SPEAKER_01: Wa doing with the with the car hauling.
• 23:45
  unknown: Yeah.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_01: Uh it was major and it was a major problem, but it's just the way that it was, it turns out.
• 23:52
SPEAKER_01: Um, what are you doing for uh the holidays?
• 23:54
  SPEAKER_00: Uh we've we're uh uh we're hosting.
• 23:57
SPEAKER_00: Uh the kids are coming over for breakfast and to do on Christmas morning?
• 24:02
SPEAKER_00: Gift, yeah, the gift opening.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_00: And then Laura and Pylor are gonna bail over Jenny's.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_00: They're gonna do that stuff at Jenny's, and then they're all coming back in the evening.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_00: Everybody's coming over in the evening for uh we're doing, I think we're doing a taco bar.
• 24:15
  SPEAKER_00: Taco bar and shots?
• 24:17
SPEAKER_00: You know, game plan and shots.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_00: No, well there'll probably be shots involved, but you know, it's it's mainly the taco bar with the all the acutra mall.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_00: I see.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_02: How about you, Michael?
• 24:30
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, kind of the same thing.
• 24:31
SPEAKER_02: We have a couple of family things.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_02: One starts next Monday night, and then we have another one, and then another one, and then Christmas morning.
• 24:38
SPEAKER_02: Uh everybody pretty well stays home and we do our own uh little thing, and then they all come over for Christmas dinner that afternoon, hopefully.
• 24:49
  SPEAKER_02: Shots?
• 24:49
SPEAKER_02: Like no, not too much on the shots, you know, too many steel kids, but uh you know it didn't have us.
• 24:56
  SPEAKER_02: Do I?
• 24:57
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 24:58
  SPEAKER_02: Do you do shots?
• 24:59
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_02: Oh, not not since I was 12.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_02: But the um since I was twelve.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's kind of like the five or six days of Merry Christmas.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_02: You know, my mother's name is Mary, so we kind of go with her.
• 25:11
  SPEAKER_00: There you go.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_00: Well, that's cool.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 25:13
  SPEAKER_02: Is she excited?
• 25:15
SPEAKER_02: Very, very, because uh we got she's a great grandmother now, and we had uh for Thanksgiving, her first great grandchild came into town uh three months old, so she got to see that and very happy for that.
• 25:28
SPEAKER_01: Did the three-month-old drive itself there?
• 25:30
SPEAKER_02: No, no, his uh his mom and dad came with him.
• 25:33
SPEAKER_02: They didn't feel like he was good enough to come from Kansas by himself on his first initial trip.
• 25:39
  SPEAKER_01: Kansas.
• 25:40
  SPEAKER_01: The whole boy.
• 25:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Toto.
• 25:44
  SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_01: The guy behind the curtain.
• 25:47
SPEAKER_01: Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
• 25:49
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_01: Well, why don't we take a quick break here?
