- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and with me is Luna. Luna: Hey everyone! Ready for some new words? Lucas: Today we're learning things you might find in a living room. Simple but useful. Luna: Ooh, like furniture? I love furniture words. Lucas: Exactly. First word: el sofá. That means 'the sofa' or 'couch'. Luna: El sofá. Okay, el sofá. Lucas: Great. Next: la mesa. The table. Luna: La mesa. That's easy. Lucas: Then la lámpara – the lamp. Luna: La lámpara. La lámpara. Nice. Lucas: Then la televisión – the television. Luna: La televisión. Sounds like English but with a Spanish twist. Lucas: And finally el cuadro – the painting or picture. Luna: El cuadro. I think I've seen that in a museum before. Lucas: You probably have. Let's review all five together. Lucas: El sofá, la mesa, la lámpara, la televisión, el cuadro. Luna: El sofá, la mesa, la lámpara, la televisión, el cuadro. Got it. Lucas: Now let's put them in a sentence. For example: El sofá es cómodo – the sofa is comfortable. Luna: El sofá es cómodo. What about the table? La mesa es...? Lucas: La mesa es grande – the table is big. Luna: La mesa es grande. And la lámpara? La lámpara es bonita? Because lamps can be pretty. Lucas: Exactly! La lámpara es bonita. You're catching on. Luna: What about la televisión? La televisión es... moderna? Lucas: Yes! La televisión es moderna. And el cuadro es antiguo – the painting is old. Luna: El cuadro es antiguo. I can picture a living room with all these things. Lucas: Let's do a quick drill. I'll say the English, you say the Spanish. Lucas: The sofa. Luna: El sofá. Lucas: The table. Luna: La mesa. Lucas: The lamp. Luna: La lámpara. Lucas: The television. Luna: La televisión. Lucas: The painting. Luna: El cuadro. Lucas: Perfect! Now remember, these are common words you'll hear. Luna: And Fexingo helps us learn them in a fun way. If you're finding these episodes useful, you can support the show. Lucas: Yeah, the show stays ad-free thanks to listeners like you. If you'd like to help, just go to buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Exactly. It's a small way to keep the lessons going. So, Lucas, can we practice one more time? Lucas: Of course! Let's do a mini conversation. I'll say a sentence with a mistake, you correct me. Lucas: La sofá es cómodo. Luna: That should be el sofá, not la! El sofá es cómodo. Lucas: You're right. Masculine nouns like sofá take el. And feminine nouns like mesa take la. Luna: Got it. So we say la mesa, la lámpara, la televisión, el sofá, el cuadro. Lucas: Perfect. Keep practicing these words around your home, and you'll remember them quickly. Luna: This was a cozy episode. Thanks for joining us! Lucas: See you next time for more Spanish with Fexingo. ¡Adiós!
