- 0:21Oh, those get all in the teeth, Hi.
- 0:23Hi oh we're recording as I'm cleaning out from cheddar.
- 0:26Annie's cheddar squares out of my teeth.
- 0:29You know what I kind of love when our episode starts with us
- 0:32just talking. It's.
- 0:34The most realistic like us doing like hey welcome to our podcast
- 0:39will never happen I. Know well we have the intro
- 0:42which that's there. Exactly.
- 0:43Thank goodness we created that. Whose fabulous idea was that?
- 0:48Definitely not mine. You are very like which is so
- 0:54good. It is, yeah.
- 0:55We balance each other out beautifully, Yeah.
- 0:57I'm good, how are you? Can I redo my glimmers?
- 1:00Yeah, Bethany's having glimmer remorse.
- 1:05Oh my. God I loved your glimmers, even
- 1:07the mouse one. It just came off a little weird.
- 1:10I know your mic a little. Closer to you if you can.
- 1:13There you go. I should probably put my seat
- 1:16down. Oh my.
- 1:17Gosh, wait. Is that too short so.
- 1:20It's so good. I just want people to see the
- 1:23visual of that you looked my height.
- 1:28Yeah, I mean, we came back around to and I got no messages
- 1:31like Bethany, you're such a hateful person, so that's good.
- 1:34Literally, I don't think that you could.
- 1:36Even if you said something hateful, I don't think you'd
- 1:38ever give off the Bethany's a hateful person vibe.
- 1:42OK, good. No, that would make me very sad.
- 1:45I went. A little savage on my that one
- 1:47question you asked me about things that make you
- 1:50irrationally whatever I got, I got irrational just talking
- 1:56about being irrational. Which I thought I, I, you know,
- 2:00what I've realized and ever since that name game or word
- 2:03game that you threw at me, I am terrible at things under
- 2:07pressure. Like I even asking this question
- 2:10where I'm like, Oh my God, I don't know what my answer is.
- 2:12You go first. It's just like, I don't like
- 2:15pressure things, you know? Yeah, it's so funny, 'cause
- 2:18like, I'm sure like if it's something that really, really
- 2:22matters, you could make a good call.
- 2:24But yeah, that is like, definitely.
- 2:27Even if it's like, where should we go out to lunch or something?
- 2:30You're like, it's like, of course we're gonna go to a place
- 2:33we've gone to 8000 times. Like why?
- 2:35Don't we exit up? Yeah, I know, but the the.
- 2:38Decision making is like. What?
- 2:44OK, well, glimmers. OK, let's start with I'll give
- 2:47my three 'cause I got I got quick ones, nothing too crazy.
- 2:50Came up with a great recipe for an iced coffee.
- 2:55You did share it with us. OK, so 'cause Carly messaged me,
- 2:59Carly the trainer in Wisconsin, and she was saying I should try
- 3:04coconut milk, but I had already started trying this.
- 3:06So it's just almond milk unsweetened, and then a dash of
- 3:11that Chobani hazelnut. Oh my God.
- 3:15OK, so it is what you it is what you were gonna create.
- 3:19Yes, you hadn't. You just hadn't done it yet
- 3:21'cause you were using the 2% milk.
- 3:23Yes, which I think you're right. I think it's fair life that
- 3:26really messes you. Yeah, 'cause I'm great now 2. 2
- 3:32Sweet. Potatoes.
- 3:33Do you like sweet potatoes? Yes.
- 3:36Do I love them? No.
- 3:37OK, well so I'm going to tell you something.
- 3:39You've probably heard it, but I saw someone share how to cook it
- 3:43online on Instagram. Probably.
- 3:45Is it the? Oven where you cut them in half.
- 3:47Yes, at 400. OK, see I see different
- 3:52temperatures so this is good to know you've tested this out.
- 3:57So 400 and they're usually like medium size, not like giant, but
- 4:02medium. Cut them in half, spray the top,
- 4:05put a little salt on top and I usually check it because one
- 4:10girl was like, I just wait until I smell them.
- 4:12No, you can't do that 'cause they're they burn.
- 4:15OK, Yeah. That didn't work for me, so.
- 4:19It's smoking. I can smell them.
- 4:22They must be done well. 'Cause you know, like the, the
- 4:25caramelization stuff, it turns pretty quickly to char.
- 4:28OK, so I don't know what the actually the timing is, 'cause
- 4:32I'm actually do it where it's like an hour and then I'll do
- 4:34like 15 more minutes an hour. Oh yeah, it's like I might.
- 4:39Need to do my mine a little bit lower our oven I think cooks
- 4:44very hot. Oh really, 'cause everything
- 4:47that like people will be like you need to do it for this long.
- 4:50If I do it for that long fried really, yes.
- 4:55So maybe I should do like 375 or two time?
- 4:59Or check maybe check like set it 30 minutes and check it.
- 5:03But the the thing I found I don't I might I'm probably not
- 5:07doing it like everyone else, but they turn out really good.
- 5:09But once you get it to the certain time frame, like an hour
- 5:13and 15 for me to an hour and 30, then the because when I flip it
- 5:18over, they're not really like I've seen where it's like
- 5:20caramelized. You like pick it up.
- 5:23OK, Well, that doesn't really happen for me.
- 5:24But what I have found is they do caramelize when you take them
- 5:27out of the oven and you let them sit for like 10-15 minutes.
- 5:31Then when you like pick it up, it's like caramel underneath
- 5:33kind of. But I'm telling you, we've been
- 5:36having this and it tastes, we put some cinnamon on it.
- 5:39It tastes like apple pie, no? That's dramatic.
- 5:44I think that's dramatic. But I love the encouragement.
- 5:48It's not gonna replace my sweet treat if that's what you're
- 5:50trying to do. OK, that will.
- 5:51That yeah, that's what I was putting in there.
- 5:54But. Yeah, someone else messaged me
- 5:56and they said I love that you have a little ice cream sweet
- 5:59treat almost every night because same.
- 6:01And I'm like, you are my person. I love that Casey calls it Icy
- 6:06or he did that. You want another icy?
- 6:08And I was like, Oh my God, that's something.
- 6:09And. You're like, how could I say no
- 6:11to that? I know you cannot say no to
- 6:12that, no. What's your third?
- 6:15OK. Third is we have these milkweed
- 6:20plants. I don't even know what that is.
- 6:22OK, so I didn't either. It's for butterflies, so they
- 6:26love milkweed. Oh, so the milkweed you're
- 6:30planting is to attract the butterflies for the joys of
- 6:33having the butterflies around? Well, so they they lay their
- 6:36eggs. So the real thing that you see
- 6:39is, and I saw one today, this was the big climber where a a
- 6:42butterfly landed on it put its little like butt up on.
- 6:46They put their their eggs underneath the leaves, but
- 6:50they're so tiny. I see they're what?
- 6:52OK, so that's very exciting. OK, so when we lost them, I got
- 6:57three of them. So I was like, Oh my God, why
- 6:59would I just get 1? So I got 3.
- 7:02There was a Caterpillar that was like this big.
- 7:04The one that you post in your stories.
- 7:06Yes, that was. Huge.
- 7:08OK, so he went off and 'cause they, they travel away from it
- 7:11to find a spot for a cocoon, which is so sad that it's not on
- 7:15the milkweed, 'cause that would even be more amazing.
- 7:17Can you imagine? Like no, I'm just watching.
- 7:20So that one's gone, but there's four tiny baby caterpillars on
- 7:27the leaves, yes. So do they just hang there until
- 7:30they're big enough to fly away? Well, so they love the
- 7:33milkweeds. They eat them.
- 7:35So it's kind of like the the butterfly lands there, deposits
- 7:41their eggs and then these little caterpillars and then they grow
- 7:44to where they're big enough. So they just chomp away at the
- 7:46leaves and then they venture off somewhere and then become
- 7:50butterflies. Gosh, my glimmers are not this
- 7:54like, interesting. OK, well I really had to make
- 7:58mine very glimmery because. Yeah, because last time you were
- 8:00murder scenes and that was your glimmer.
- 8:05What's yours? OK, my first one is celebrating
- 8:0911 year old Roro. Yes.
- 8:12So birthday was on Sunday. We had our second.
- 8:16SO yeah, it was the day after we no, it was the day that you and
- 8:20I recorded because we recorded a day late yesterday or last week.
- 8:24We had our second therapy session.
- 8:26Casey and I, I haven't updated anyone from because we didn't
- 8:28have have any sessions. Yeah, I think I was made to do
- 8:33that. Like I love therapy.
- 8:34You know, some people I think like are like dread their
- 8:38therapy sessions. I can't wait for our next one.
- 8:41I've heard that that's a byproduct of it.
- 8:43I think it would be different if, like, we were going there,
- 8:47we hated each other, you know, and like you're sitting there
- 8:50talking about like, like, it's just been like, I don't know, I
- 8:55just feel like it's such a relief after it gives me 'cause
- 8:58like for, I think it's more like I'm feeling very like heard and
- 9:03listened to and, you know, we both just feel very supported
- 9:08with each other on it. And I'm just like, I don't know
- 9:10if Casey loves it as much as I do 'cause I think it's a little
- 9:12bit harder for him to express his feelings, but I'm like, I
- 9:16wanna do therapy every week. I wanna talk to her all the
- 9:19time. I just, I just love it.
- 9:21I feel validated and like, yeah, and I just feel like extra
- 9:26connected after our sessions and stuff.
- 9:28So yeah, I've been loving therapy.
- 9:30Oh, that makes. Me so happy.
- 9:32I mean, I cry, I've cried on both of them, but the first one
- 9:35like I talked about was like, you know, just like laying it
- 9:38all out there. But yes.
- 9:39Or yesterday, last week's was very much like we were more
- 9:42getting into like some specifics of things, but it felt very like
- 9:47for both of us, it just felt very like, yes, that's exactly
- 9:50how we're both feeling. And there's a cool moment too,
- 9:53where I went through something and then the therapist had asked
- 9:58Casey, like, what are you hearing Caitlin say?
- 10:01And what he responded back like, again, very, very supportive.
- 10:06But like to me, I'm like, that's not what I said.
- 10:09And that was so like, so I was, you know, of course I just
- 10:12listened to what he thought I said and I had said to him back
- 10:15like some of that. But I'm like really, that's not
- 10:18what I felt I was trying to get across.
- 10:20So I think that was really helpful because I think that's
- 10:22something we run into often is like how I say something or vice
- 10:27versa, how a person says something versus how it's heard
- 10:30can be two different things. So that we both are like holding
- 10:35what we hear as like that's our truth.
- 10:39But that's like, you know, so it was just really I was like, oh,
- 10:41that's interesting that like that's what he heard.
- 10:44There was nothing wrong with what he heard.
- 10:46Yeah. But like the main topic that I
- 10:48felt I was saying was not the thing that was heard in my like
- 10:53it was, it was really interesting.
- 10:54So I find it very like I, I'm sure some people could find that
- 10:58like frustrating or something like that, but it wasn't at all.
- 11:00So that was my second glimmer. Like, OK, let me ask real quick
- 11:04because last time when you said you were feeling like you had to
- 11:08get the right answer or you were saying your answers in a way
- 11:11that was like because of. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:15But did you feel the? Next time.
- 11:17I did. And there was a couple of times
- 11:19where I was like doing my ramble thing and then I would say I'm
- 11:23like, I literally have forgotten your question now.
- 11:25And she's like, she's just like, that's OK.
- 11:28Like it was just very like, that's all right.
- 11:30And then she like really nicely, like comes back to it.
- 11:32She's like, I think you answered it.
- 11:33Like is there anything else you wanted to add to that?
- 11:35I'm like, no, I think I I covered some ground.
- 11:38So nice. Yeah, but there was like certain
- 11:44things we were talking about and like everything she she actually
- 11:46like started getting into like talking about like our wounded.
- 11:51Everyone has like a wounded child like something that left
- 11:55is very much them. And how she pinpointed mine in
- 11:58Casey's was so accurate of like how we feel we need to like
- 12:03receive or hear. And I was just like, this is so
- 12:07amazing. That's fascinating.
- 12:09Yeah, yeah, it was so good. Yeah.
- 12:11Oh my. Gosh.
- 12:12OK, cool. So she was like, do you think
- 12:14you guys are feeling sorry? It was like 2 1/2 weeks between
- 12:16sessions and she's like, do you think you guys are feeling good
- 12:19with like this two week time frame and stuff?
- 12:21And I'm like, OK. She's like, yeah, I think that's
- 12:22good. I'm like, I would love to talk
- 12:23to you every day, but I'm like 2 weeks is fine.
- 12:27So I think I was also able to bring a little bit more of like
- 12:30my personality to it where the first time I did not do any of
- 12:33that, like Jokey, I was just, you know, he just felt very
- 12:36serious the first time. So actually like, you know me, I
- 12:40love to get a good laugh from someone.
- 12:42Yes. So yeah, she was kind of
- 12:44giggling at me and I'm like, yes, I'm.
- 12:49Like you got her. OK, my third glimmer is did.
- 12:53You say 2. Celebrating row, row and then
- 12:56therapy and then I just went down a whole thing with therapy.
- 13:00And then the third one is we're in our part of the season where
- 13:06the birds are now chirping super early.
- 13:08So it kind of like is what wakes me up in the morning is I hear
- 13:12the birds going before my alarm even goes off.
- 13:15Oh my God, I love that. Some people might hate that, but
- 13:19I'm like, that means I know like, my alarm's gonna be going
- 13:21off soon anyways, so just feels like a more natural way to wake
- 13:25up. Like the olden times.
- 13:27Yes, I'm totally, Yeah, I'm totally living in the olden
- 13:31times. You're basically a Pilgrim. 100%
- 13:36yes. I churned my own butter today
- 13:38too. Yeah, those are my gamers.
- 13:43We totally killed it with the glamorous this week.
- 13:46Thank goodness I've been thinking about the entire week.
- 13:49I was like, what was I doing of? Course you were.
- 13:54One of my client slash friends texted me and she's like, yeah,
- 13:58my husband said that she would have.
- 13:59He would have let the mouse drowned in the pool.
- 14:02I'm like, no, I'm like, that doesn't surprise me, but Nope,
- 14:05not on my watch. Yeah, no.
- 14:09When I save that little little mouse from the pool and then I
- 14:13had it in the backyard and I was like, did you?
- 14:16Just die then. No, no, no, I put it it like it
- 14:20like scurried, but I could tell Bobby was like very close to
- 14:23wanting to like give it to whatever and like.
- 14:27Pick it up and give it to the chickens.
- 14:30Yeah, like with the. Savage.
- 14:32Yeah, well, he was throwing him into the Bush.
- 14:35Yeah. What are those bugs that you
- 14:36guys get? Like, they're really big.
- 14:39And he was finding them in the pool and stuff like big
- 14:42crickets. Those were like monster
- 14:45crickets. We don't have.
- 14:47We get some big crickets in the summer, but those things were
- 14:50like a tiny dinosaur. And Bobby was like loved finding
- 14:56them and throwing them into the chickens, which I mean, I guess
- 14:59I kind of get it. It's like really probably super
- 15:01good for them. But I think he has like this
- 15:05little bit of like a murderous side to him we didn't know
- 15:07about. I hope you can hear me say this.
- 15:11If not, he'll listen to. It I think he's OK with it
- 15:13'cause there's no protesting from the other room, but yeah,
- 15:17he still loves getting it. And now, OK, chickens you can
- 15:20train at least for like trains, food or whatever 'cause every
- 15:23time they hear him go over to the pool.
- 15:25They know. They get so excited that he
- 15:28tries to give it to Diane, our little Gray one, and because to
- 15:33make her feel a little special, so he does that specifically.
- 15:36So cute. Cute, you're a little chicken
- 15:39colony. I just love it so much.
- 15:42And recently this little farm store open near near us.
- 15:47Oh my gosh, it's so cool. It's like where?
- 15:50Is it like like watch some? Glitter of ice cream.
- 15:53Oh my gosh. There's like a little.
- 15:55A great spot for it. Yeah, so like eggs and she's
- 15:58from her farm, so like meat and bread and stuff.
- 16:03Oh my gosh, I got a Oh yeah, I can't.
- 16:06So this is one of my well, I don't know what this would be a
- 16:12characteristic or personality trait or it's not that big of a
- 16:15deal. But if I go to somewhere where
- 16:18they had just opened a farm stand and her mom, Mary Helen,
- 16:21was there. Mary Helen, what are you gonna
- 16:24do? Not buy something from Mary
- 16:26Helen. And when she told me, 'cause I
- 16:28pulled out, I didn't know she was the mom of the owner,
- 16:30Bernadette. I'm really working on trying to
- 16:32remember names, by the way. I know.
- 16:36OK, so Mary Helen. So I'm opening the the little
- 16:39cooler and I'm like oh is this a apple pie 'cause I've been
- 16:43craving it but so that. You're gonna eat AP7.
- 16:48Throw it away. Well, gosh.
- 16:50Savage. It's gonna bother you.
- 16:52But so I was like, yeah, is this apple pie?
- 16:55She was like, oh, yeah, my husband made it.
- 16:56And I'm like, oh. What's her husband's name?
- 16:59I forgot the name, I don't even know, she told me.
- 17:02But I was like, oh, sold. Like how much is it probably?
- 17:05Like Bernadette and Jeremiah, I mean, it has to be.
- 17:09You know how I remembered Mary Helen, you know, like the what
- 17:13is it? Is it mnemonic or like where you
- 17:16remember something by OK, Mary Helen and I thought Jesus's mom,
- 17:24right, Mary? Yeah.
- 17:27Helen close to hell. So are you serious?
- 17:32That's how you remember it. And I remember it.
- 17:35Yeah, whoa, I know. I that is not at all where my
- 17:39mind would go to. Yeah, how would you remember
- 17:41that name? When you said Mary, Helen,
- 17:44Mary's an easy one for me because it was my Grammy's name.
- 17:46But Helen, I immediately think of Helen knows the owner from
- 17:52Bridesmaids, Kristen Wiig, where it's Helen, the rich girl and
- 17:58everything. You know, she's blah, blah,
- 18:00blah, and she's talking. She's like, oh, I'm not Helen.
- 18:05That's immediate where my brain goes to.
- 18:07OK, I love that. Oh, that's so fun to know.
- 18:09Like how you would remember it and how I think.
- 18:12Jesus's mom and close to hell totally.
- 18:17Remembered it? Yeah.
- 18:19How are you? Remembering Bernadette like
- 18:20burned. She's getting burned.
- 18:23I know. Like.
- 18:24What? I imagine her body being burned
- 18:26and then a debt, No? She's got a huge debt.
- 18:33Oh my God. That would be smart.
- 18:36Not the burning part, but have you seen Big Bang Theory?
- 18:40I I've never watched it, but I know exactly what you're
- 18:42talking. About.
- 18:44But what I just. I would say.
- 18:50Yes. And then that's like something
- 18:51that you would do. I've never seen it, but I know
- 18:54what it is. But I was going to say like,
- 18:56yes, I've watched it. Oh, it sounded like you said
- 18:58yes. I've never watched it.
- 19:00Yeah. OK, OK.
- 19:02Well, there's some really funny characters on it, but one of the
- 19:05guys girlfriends is Bernadette. OK, I remember.
- 19:08Well, that's also a very, like, unique name.
- 19:11I feel like that's easier to remember than if it's like her
- 19:13name's Kelly or Jan or something.
- 19:16It's like what? I don't know.
- 19:18Like I remember the farmer guy's name.
- 19:23His name is Zach, I think. Zach Morris from Saba the Bell.
- 19:25Did you ever watch Saba the Bell?
- 19:27Yes, but that would not be where my brain would go to for I was
- 19:31more of like a Boy Meets World kid.
- 19:33Oh, yeah. Oh, did you watch the What was
- 19:36it like on Friday nights? What did you watch the lineup of
- 19:40TV show? Oh, was that Boy Meets World on
- 19:42Friday night? No, no, no, never mind.
- 19:45That's a different. It was on a different show or
- 19:47different whatever. Also, you are like six years
- 19:52ahead of me so. That's why I'm a little curious
- 19:56to. Say not that far but like there
- 19:58will be certain things like you and staff are closer in age.
- 20:01Steph turns 40 this year and there will be certain like.
- 20:05Songs and stuff that she'll talk about that she's like, Oh yeah,
- 20:07this is like when we were in college and I'm like, like, no,
- 20:12that was more like when I was in like, early high school.
- 20:15So like, it's it's really funny to like, talk about certain
- 20:18things. Or if like AJ says something
- 20:20which is closer to like Bobby's age.
- 20:22Oh yeah. I'll be like Casey's like I was
- 20:25in middle school or like elementary school and a just
- 20:28graduating high school. But yes, someone, a guy came
- 20:33over looking at cutting down a tree in our backyard or like a
- 20:37limb, and he was brought up. Oh, yeah.
- 20:40I was born in 2004. And I'm like, oh, my God.
- 20:42That's when I graduated high school.
- 20:44Yeah. Whoa, so he's what, 21?
- 20:47Yeah, 22 or something? Yeah.
- 20:49Whoa, that's crazy. I.
- 20:51Know. Kind of crazy that's.
- 20:55Not. Casey.
- 20:56Who was that? We have a water filtration,
- 21:05don't mind that. Casey.
- 21:07'S right here. Are you?
- 21:08Scared. Me she goes hi Casey, that is so
- 21:17fun in. The distance, he basically went
- 21:19down right away. Yeah.
- 21:23Did you guys do anything for what?
- 21:25Wait, why don't you ask? Did you guys do anything for
- 21:27Mother's Day? Yes, he's a very good daughter.
- 21:31Obviously. Well, I, I took my mom.
- 21:36There's this place we should take you and Casey sometime.
- 21:39It's like 25 minutes away. But it's a cute little downtown
- 21:44area called Winter Garden. So it's kind of like Park Ave.
- 21:46but not as bougie, but it's really cute.
- 21:49It feels like old old. Town.
- 21:50Is that where her and your dad used to go?
- 21:53Yeah. Didn't they do that every Sunday
- 21:56or something? Yes.
- 21:57Yep. Wow, Gold Star.
- 21:59I listen to only. Talk you remember.
- 22:02Things you remember. I tried, yeah.
- 22:03I, I don't actually, I don't really try to.
- 22:05I just do, yeah. It's usually my brain works,
- 22:07yeah. Wow.
- 22:09Yeah. So she hasn't been back since.
- 22:11And so she had talked before about she brought it up and I
- 22:16was like, Oh, well, I go with you.
- 22:18And she was like, oh, that'd be so nice.
- 22:19And so I thought, I thought the farmers market was there on
- 22:22Sunday. It's not, it's on Saturday.
- 22:24But it was nice. We brought our dog.
- 22:27So I brought Johnny, excuse me, I just burped.
- 22:30Oops. And she brought her dog Harper.
- 22:34And they were so cute. They like, don't care about each
- 22:36other. And oh, I love that.
- 22:39So was it just you and your mom and the dogs or it was Bobby
- 22:41there? OK, Did Bobby?
- 22:44My mom prefers when it's one-on-one.
- 22:46It feels more special when it's like 1 on.
- 22:48One yeah, I get that. Did Bobby do anything with his
- 22:51mom? No, they're in Georgia.
- 22:53Oh, OK. Mm hmm.
- 22:55At their other house. Yeah.
- 22:57Nice they're. Thinking of selling and it'd be
- 23:00really nice if they just gave it to us.
- 23:02That would be great. They should do that, no?
- 23:04It's not gonna happen. Which I mean, I don't think at
- 23:09this point if my parents had two houses, they would just give us
- 23:12a house either. They'd probably be like, we
- 23:14should probably. I don't know.
- 23:16Well, can I tell you something? Yes, tell me everything.
- 23:19OK, well, so let me preface as I always do before I talk about
- 23:24someone, I really like my mother and father-in-law, but it's just
- 23:28so interesting to me. It's kind of like you with like
- 23:30communication and therapy and how you realize, Oh my gosh,
- 23:33like we're hearing different things.
- 23:35And sometimes still I have to remind myself, like Bobby's
- 23:39parents don't communicate like me.
- 23:40It's OK. This is just how it is.
- 23:43But like 6 months ago or something, 'cause we had this
- 23:47idea of oh, what if we bought their house when they sold it
- 23:50and like and we couldn't really do it, but I was like, that'd be
- 23:56so cool. We could like do it up
- 23:57differently. It's just so different from
- 23:59Orlando. Yes, so cool.
- 24:04So he brought it up to his mom in a in a phone call.
- 24:07He was like, Oh yeah, like if you, if y'all start thinking
- 24:11about selling it, let me know. I might be interested in buying
- 24:13it. And she kind of brushed over it.
- 24:15She was like, Oh no, no, no, like said that and then start
- 24:20talking about something else. And I was, when he told me this,
- 24:22I, I, I have no idea. Like to me it feels very
- 24:27flippant and like you're not listening or hearing what he's
- 24:30saying. So it kind of to me, my first
- 24:33instinct, which is very reactionary, is like, she
- 24:35doesn't care or she's not like she's not meaning to be like
- 24:38that. But so recently, this past
- 24:40weekend or last week, she told him, Oh yeah, we're we're not
- 24:47selling it yet, but we are having a realtor come over to
- 24:50tell us how much it is. No, no talk about when Bobby
- 24:55mentioned that. And of course Bobby doesn't
- 24:57bring it up either. No, I'm like, what is going on?
- 25:01Like if it was me and my parents, I'd be like, excuse me,
- 25:05like do. You hello.
- 25:07I should get first dibs. Yeah, like that is where my, the
- 25:12myself where, you know, I'm a big talker, like behind the
- 25:15scenes. And then, yeah, I wish I could
- 25:17be like that. Like hi.
- 25:19Like remember when we talked about this, Like whatever.
- 25:23None of that. I bet you they probably are like
- 25:25if they are slightly more passive people, they're probably
- 25:28like, you know, we kind of know the location.
- 25:30Like we know that we're potentially gonna get like
- 25:32multiple bids on it. They're probably like, I don't
- 25:35want to do that with like my child and like not give it to
- 25:38them because they get they get outbidded or something.
- 25:41But they should just say that like honestly, we we want to
- 25:43like keep it without it being a family thing.
- 25:47You know, we don't even want to like take money from you guys or
- 25:50something like that's fine. You can just give it to us.
- 25:52Just saying. Which I know.
- 25:55I know that's not realistic either 'cause I know that like
- 25:56older people also need to think like having money if they're
- 26:00ever gonna need to do more of like a retirement place of like
- 26:02care, whatever. So like I get not being able to
- 26:05be like here, let me give you a house that's probably worth a
- 26:08decent amount of money, especially with the location.
- 26:11But like. I'm thinking I would like to buy
- 26:14it and Bobby's not the type I am this type.
- 26:17I would be like, can you just give it to me for free?
- 26:20That's how I would. Yeah, that's that's the thing
- 26:24that's so interesting and fascinating is like when some
- 26:27people they just won't talk about something I that makes me
- 26:32feel crazy inside. Crazy.
- 26:35I will say that's very much more Casey's family than mine as
- 26:38well. But it's gotten better over the
- 26:40years for sure. Like, I think it just was never
- 26:43like, especially for his dad, natural thing like that's not.
- 26:46He grew up with 12 brothers and sisters, very farm family.
- 26:49Like they did not talk about feelings like, yeah, even though
- 26:54I've heard like he never like really heard from his parents
- 26:57like I love you or anything like that.
- 26:58Like you just assumed they love you.
- 27:01So it was like even a while until like Casey's dad would say
- 27:05it like out loud to us. Yeah.
- 27:08And my parents have always been like, we over communicate.
- 27:12We love you so much. We're like hugging.
- 27:14And like I, it's actually funny, 'cause like, I'm out of the four
- 27:18of us, my sister, my parents, the least touchy feely.
- 27:23You are. Very much so.
- 27:26Yep. Yeah.
- 27:27It's really interesting 'cause like I, I'm very like warm and
- 27:30like, I feel very deeply, but I'm not like, like even at this
- 27:36age, like my sister would walk and like hold my dad's hand and
- 27:39like, that's not me, I. Wish I could were.
- 27:43More like that, like even like I immediately go to like hug my
- 27:46parents and stuff, but my sister's immediately going for
- 27:48like a kiss like on the chase or something like that.
- 27:51So it's really funny how I'm like the least touchy feely,
- 27:56which is still like a huge contrast for other people
- 27:59because I'm when I started like dating Casey and going into like
- 28:02his side of the family, I was like hugging everyone and like
- 28:07very like trying to get to know people where everyone's like,
- 28:10what is this energy? So it is so interesting how
- 28:14different like dynamics can be And you're like, this just feels
- 28:18weird. I'd rather people be over
- 28:21communicating and I'm like, whoa, word.
- 28:23Vomit. I would totally prefer word
- 28:26vomit. I know 'cause then it feels like
- 28:28what did I do wrong if. And then you can talk it
- 28:31through. Yeah, 'cause I don't mind the
- 28:32discomfort of that. Like even sometimes I wish, and
- 28:36I probably wouldn't wish this if she was like this.
- 28:38Sometimes I wish my mother-in-law would just be like
- 28:41in my face about certain things instead of like not saying
- 28:45things because then that I can deal with that.
- 28:47I can like confront and like work through.
- 28:50Like when we were on the couch, Bobby and I, the other night and
- 28:54I forget what it was, I was joking with him about something
- 28:58and he mentioned he was like, Oh well, I don't, I don't like to
- 29:02argue or something. We were not arguing.
- 29:05It was like we were like laughing.
- 29:06It's almost like he just tickled me or something.
- 29:08I don't know. But but it wasn't like it was
- 29:14like a fun little moment. And I'm like, whoa, OK, wait a
- 29:17second, 'cause he said that before where they, how they, he
- 29:21came up with his parents very different than us, where we had
- 29:25family meetings and like they didn't talk much about anything.
- 29:29It was just things were expected.
- 29:31And so I was like, wait, wait, wait.
- 29:33Like you think this is like arguing?
- 29:35Like, you know this isn't arguing, right?
- 29:37And he was like, no, yeah. I keep thinking this is fucking
- 29:40Casey. That was Casey.
- 29:42That was just Casey. OK, OK, so I was about to say
- 29:47they look exactly like from the back.
- 29:49OK. But oops.
- 29:51Oh, I ran out but so. 6 coffee for the day.
- 29:59You just went from like Oh my gosh.
- 30:01Hey hi Casey. Oh well, no, I just ran out.
- 30:07It's the excitement of seeing you.
- 30:09I know, oh, Speaking of like communication and talking about
- 30:14like family members and something like that.
- 30:16I am actually bringing an FAQ that's very dog related since
- 30:21we're such a dog training podcast to ask you something
- 30:24I've been asked multiple times recent and it must be because
- 30:28the summer months around here is a lot of people are doing like
- 30:32up north trips people are you know, going out of town and
- 30:34stuff. So I've been getting a lot of my
- 30:36owners I work with asking the question, like post training,
- 30:42how to give direction to people that are like watching your dog
- 30:46that's like a family member or a friend, not like a border or you
- 30:50know, if they're not able to have us board them or something
- 30:54like that. Do you get that question a lot
- 30:56from your owners? I do from some virtual clients.
- 31:00I get it, which I think I've added it now to an FAQ on my
- 31:04Canine graduate handbook. I get it asked all of the time.
- 31:08So I. Really do.
- 31:10Interesting. Well, maybe it's because you
- 31:11live in Florida and people stay in Florida.
- 31:15OK, Yeah. They like that's where people
- 31:17vacation. But I thought it could be
- 31:19helpful for us to give a couple of pointers.
- 31:22And I'm so sorry my family is being so loud right now.
- 31:26Do you hear it in the background?
- 31:27Your whole family's there. No meaning my family is and my
- 31:30dogs and my husband. Oh, because the water people
- 31:34just left. So Bertie and Rhody were both
- 31:37just next to me and Casey's row, row baby, let's go aside.
- 31:40And then like I'm like, hello, I'm.
- 31:43Recording. It last year.
- 31:45OK, good. OK, let's give a couple of
- 31:48pointers on that because at least for me, it's something I
- 31:51get asked very frequently and I will give my quick blanketed
- 31:56response. I typically give, again, it can
- 31:58be dog dependent. Like if you have a really
- 32:00challenging dog, I'd probably give different direction.
- 32:03But I don't know if this is the right answer, but my answer is
- 32:06typically like give them the bare minimum basics to focus on.
- 32:12Like especially if it's like grandma and grandpa who's like
- 32:16gonna spoil them doing their best.
- 32:19I just tell owners like they're taking care of your dog for free
- 32:22most likely, like let them do it how they're going to do it as
- 32:26long as there's no danger involved and tighten things back
- 32:29up when you get home and like same.
- 32:32This is exactly what I say because I find most owners are
- 32:34so nervous that it's going to be like a yes, you're going to
- 32:36backslide yes. And it's like it's just the same
- 32:40exact thing, as if owners aren't keeping up with things at home
- 32:43and they bring their dog back for boarding.
- 32:45They're like, I'm so like, I'm embarrassed on how they're going
- 32:47to be. They shape up the second they
- 32:49get here. They never forget the training.
- 32:51So it's just a matter of like who's implementing what and how
- 32:55pushy of a dog you have. But there will be even some dogs
- 32:59that I'm like honestly don't even have them put the E collar
- 33:01on. Like unless it's like you know,
- 33:04they're going to be able to like pop them out for a potty break
- 33:07and there's not a fence or something and you feel like
- 33:09they're going to be cool with that.
- 33:10Sure, have them use it and do the tone or something.
- 33:13But most often I'm like, if you're bringing them to someone
- 33:16else's house, you know, maybe bring their crate, set them up
- 33:20so they have that. Otherwise, they're gonna,
- 33:23they're gonna be fine, like. Yeah.
- 33:27Go ahead. The thing that I, I've, I have
- 33:29been asked in the past is about 'cause I don't love ideally
- 33:33people don't take their dogs to like boarding facilities or
- 33:36whatever or doggy daycare. Sometimes people have to do what
- 33:40they have to do. Like there's only so many
- 33:41options. So I've had where if someone
- 33:44took their dog who might be a little reactive on the walk,
- 33:48took their dog to a boarding place for a long weekend, got
- 33:51their dog back, their dog was a little pushy.
- 33:53And it's like, to me, that's not the end of the world.
- 33:56It's just. Do a.
- 33:57Little reset. Feedback on where the brains at
- 34:01in that moment. Yes, but I think the biggest
- 34:03thing with stuff like that is the owner worries it's gonna
- 34:07mess everything up and I. Appreciate those owners 'cause
- 34:10they're usually the ones that are trying so hard.
- 34:12Yeah. And yeah, and I think it's the
- 34:14same thing as if like you're going to the vet or you're
- 34:16taking your dog to the groomer is bring them on things that you
- 34:20need to set yourself up for success.
- 34:22I know some people feel like the like E collar at the vet,
- 34:25especially if they have a vet who's very forward about that.
- 34:28I've even had owners with a couple of dogs that like they're
- 34:31like, I just don't even want the conversation with the vet.
- 34:34And their dog is a dog that like genuinely will do totally fine
- 34:37if they don't have their E collar on them.
- 34:38I'm like, then don't put their E collar on.
- 34:41Yeah, like it's fine. Yeah, you, you don't have to
- 34:44have that conversation. But the other side, if it's a
- 34:47dog who literally, you know, giving them a tap for something
- 34:51is what means the vet can get their stuff done, then ignore
- 34:57what they have to say and just be like well let me show you how
- 35:00my dog can handle the situation. Yeah, but I, I was talking to a,
- 35:05a virtual owner the other day and this might be relatable to
- 35:09other people where they, she was so frazzled about something that
- 35:14happened with her dog where they took him to like a new brewery
- 35:19or something or someone's home. And it was a new setting.
- 35:25The dog just had knee surgery or something like a few weeks ago
- 35:28or a month ago. So he's on bed rest.
- 35:30It must have been like further away 'cause he could walk around
- 35:33and stuff. But they had also struggled in
- 35:36the past with some separation anxiety in the kennel.
- 35:38And then things were getting much better than the surgery.
- 35:42Can't get as much exercise. Then they took him to this new
- 35:45place and they're like, OK, we're going to put him in the
- 35:48kennel and like go outside, get in the hot tub or whatever they
- 35:51did. And the dog freaked out, chewed
- 35:53through the cloth, kennel broke out.
- 35:56And the owner was trying to work through things in that moment in
- 36:00that place where she was like having the dog go back in the
- 36:02kennel. Like things we would do where
- 36:05it's like you kind of hold the dog accountable or you don't
- 36:07want them to just be freaked out by the kennel and never go in
- 36:10again. But the thing one I told her,
- 36:15when stuff like that happens, when it feels so frazzled and
- 36:17overwhelming. So big in that moment.
- 36:19Yes, take a break. You can reset tomorrow at home
- 36:23when it's your own environment. Like I think a lot of owners
- 36:27especially like you said, the really hard working owners that
- 36:30want to do it right, they put so much pressure on themselves to
- 36:33feel like they probably think that's how we are where
- 36:35everything is always so tight and buttoned up.
- 36:39It's not at all. So I think just remember that
- 36:42the next time something, a bad walk or a bad outing or whatever
- 36:46it is not the end of the world. It's not gonna set everything
- 36:48back. It's just a moment.
- 36:49The only things that we do that's probably slightly
- 36:52different, that makes it seem like things are always buttoned
- 36:54up is we're looking at what, how can we go into a situation and
- 36:59make it as easy as possible for ourselves.
- 37:01Like, and what I mean by that too is like earlier down in the
- 37:05kennel room was about to have a boarding dog picked up and I had
- 37:09to call a client and Mandy was down there and my boarding
- 37:13client text me. She's like, so sorry, running 5
- 37:15minutes behind like no problem. I was like, hey Mandy, all the
- 37:18dogs were on place and they're kind of at the point where they
- 37:20can hang out on place without tie backs.
- 37:23I'm like put them all on tie backs just so when you go to
- 37:25step out, I'm sure someone's going to pop off, but like they
- 37:29can't get far. And it's just like that's I'm
- 37:33putting a leash on a dog so that it's like it's easier for us
- 37:36when we come back in and they stepped off.
- 37:38Like it's OK if they step off, it's OK that they make mistakes.
- 37:41Like it's how we set the situation up to hopefully make
- 37:46it as easy for us, the humans, so we can give the dog a super
- 37:49clear direction. Yeah.
- 37:51Well, I think what you mentioned, it just points where
- 37:53our expectation is probably different than an owner's where
- 37:56we know that's probably gonna happen.
- 37:57It's not the end of the world. So we set it up so that if the
- 38:01dog pops off, it's no big deal. So I think, yeah, I think
- 38:04expectations because I remember thinking back to like when I was
- 38:08a new trainer and I know I I would get really self-conscious
- 38:12about things because I thought other trainers were doing it so
- 38:15much better than me. Like I'm sure owners think that
- 38:18like whether have like a messy moment, it's like, oh, Kate
- 38:22would probably do this differently or Bethany would do
- 38:25this differently. It's kind of like with the
- 38:27boarding dogs I have right now. I've never done a little mini
- 38:30reset. You inspired me to do this so
- 38:33for. All three of them.
- 38:35Yeah, it's fun. It's, well, it's nice just
- 38:37'cause it's really just like tightening things up.
- 38:40Easy. Yes.
- 38:42It's so easy, but it's so it's beneficial for everyone.
- 38:45Yeah, easy for us because we know the dogs are already
- 38:48trained. It's tightening up the things
- 38:50that like we know they know and just doesn't feel as high
- 38:55pressure as like brand new dog. Yeah, so I can already tell
- 39:00'cause I've been on walks with Basil's owner, Julie, who I I
- 39:05love going on walks with her. And I know, OK, this is if she
- 39:08listens, 'cause I hate when owners, I never want an owner to
- 39:12think that I'm like watching them or like, oh, Basil's not in
- 39:15heels. I really could care less.
- 39:17That is like something I know as.
- 39:17Long as you're happy and not complaining or asking me things
- 39:21and not implement it, those are my 2.
- 39:23Like if you're happy with how things are going, awesome, then
- 39:26I don't care how you're doing stuff.
- 39:28But if you're not, if you're still struggling and asking me
- 39:32for things and then not implementing those, that's when
- 39:34I'm kind of like, OK, like not my circuits, not my monkeys.
- 39:38Yes. So Julie never asked me anything
- 39:41really, which is great. So I'm like, oh great, this is
- 39:43I, I don't mind whatever. I mean, he's doing great or
- 39:46good. But she struggles a little bit
- 39:49with her dog Basil and her daughter's dog Oakley, who is
- 39:52basically a cat dog. He is.
- 39:56He's very cat like in his mannerisms and like.
- 40:01That's how I kind of thought the dog that you were boarding when
- 40:04we were there toast. She gives me cat dog vibes.
- 40:08Oh, OK. She gives the vibe of like, I
- 40:11don't, I'm not impressed by much kind of a thing.
- 40:13Like let me like curl up and like bask in the sun and I don't
- 40:18need to move much. Oh, so maybe this is not the
- 40:21right description because. Maybe it's just different cats,
- 40:24like different, OK. Oakley's like a really friendly,
- 40:27lovey cat, but like he just feels different than other dogs
- 40:31where I don't remember this about him when I trained him for
- 40:34the board and train. But he has these little like
- 40:37squinty eyes and then like he'll come over and just like lay his
- 40:41head and like it's not pushy. It's more like I don't even know
- 40:45how to. Describe it, but it's still
- 40:46docile. That's not.
- 40:49A cat. Oh.
- 40:52I mean, not my cat. It's not my cat.
- 40:55My cat, I mean. Like how his body moves.
- 40:59OK. Kind of fleeing and like bounce.
- 41:03Oh my gosh, he's got 9 lines. Yeah.
- 41:07OK, I'm not describing this right, but.
- 41:09Kind of like a lizard. I saw the lizard killed today.
- 41:14What? Is up with you in.
- 41:17It's just there's so many animals around me now that I'm
- 41:21very. Very true, yeah.
- 41:25So that was terrible. But anyway, so OK with Oakley
- 41:28and Basil so. Circle back.
- 41:33So when I she was like, I struggle a little bit with
- 41:35walking both of them and I was like OK, no problem.
- 41:38So I take them out together and it's just really holding them
- 41:41accountable with the E collar, which doesn't mean, I mean it
- 41:45was 16 for one of them. It's like they're very
- 41:47sensitive, but it's more tightening the collar a little.
- 41:50If anyone's listening who you feel like things are not going
- 41:54how you'd like on a walk, make sure it's not loosey goosey.
- 41:57Yes, I'm just like, like with love, everyone get it together,
- 42:02tighten. It.
- 42:03Up. Why do we have them on like they
- 42:04are chains? Like what is going on?
- 42:08It's not a necklace. Tighten it up.
- 42:10You don't have contact. You don't have an E collar.
- 42:13So that's number one. But yeah, it's just, it was
- 42:17actually really fun 'cause I, I haven't recorded myself with the
- 42:21phone for stories in like a trainery way.
- 42:24Yeah. That's interesting to get back
- 42:27into that. Oh yeah.
- 42:30When were you going with this? Did I not finish the story?
- 42:33No, is what are. The chickens free ranging back
- 42:36there and who it is. What is going on?
- 42:422 chickens are out, two of her. Chickens are out.
- 42:48No two of them to the. Right.
- 42:51I just see a chicken. It's a one of the black ones,
- 42:53right? Two of them.
- 42:54The both of them are the black ones.
- 42:56Yeah. Oh, they're just happy as can be
- 42:59walking around back there. Oh, I hope you can get them.
- 43:04Wait, someone's in our backyard cutting down a tree.
- 43:08What is going on? Are they supposed to be update
- 43:13us? Update us.
- 43:15Well, so no, they're not trimming our trees.
- 43:19They're trimming some trees from the yard behind us.
- 43:24But so all the chickens are all freaked out and then I'm I'm
- 43:27sure they'd be fine. Hi Beanie.
- 43:31But Oh my God I'm out of breath wrangling chickens.
- 43:35How many? How many got out?
- 43:36Just the 2. Just the two.
- 43:38But then the other four were like packed together behind one
- 43:42of the garden beds. They just looked so freaked out.
- 43:45So I'm like, I don't know what if, like, they escape.
- 43:48It'd be. So yeah, I would sue, that's for
- 43:50sure. I don't know how you do that,
- 43:52but yeah, I don't know. Especially since aren't you not
- 43:57even supposed to have chickens? OK.
- 43:59That's close enough to legal What what You're allowed to have
- 44:034. Oh, OK, perfect.
- 44:06Yeah, that sounds good. The ones that are all the same
- 44:09colors come in pairs, and so they're basically one.
- 44:12Basically, yeah. Yeah, it's basically ones.
- 44:14You just have to go put them all in the coop or are they still in
- 44:16their little free range area? No I had to put them in the coop
- 44:20cuz they're literally right behind the coop doing banana
- 44:23trees or whatever. Hi Beanie.
- 44:25Beanie. So cute.
- 44:30Oh. My gosh, the drama.
- 44:32I'm so glad you saw them. Bobby would have been in there,
- 44:34would have been here like the. Fact that I also noticed it so
- 44:37the spot that I could see it, so you see where your camera is,
- 44:40the spot that would I guess it would be technically to your
- 44:45back, right? My right.
- 44:49Right where the pool is, where those pillows are, right there.
- 44:51That's where I saw it walk by. The fact that I saw that tiny,
- 44:54just this one little, hey, that's the thing that who was
- 44:59it, Sarah, that wrote in the comments.
- 45:00So it's like, Kate, it's probably 'cause you're a Pisces
- 45:02that you notice these small things like the little
- 45:04Caterpillar. Oh my gosh, I love that.
- 45:07Oh yeah, Caterpillar. Oh, So what was the chicken's
- 45:10head? I'm like, what is that?
- 45:12A chicken? But it was, you know, chickens
- 45:14have very distinct head motions. I'm like, that had to have been
- 45:18a chicken. Well, they were over here and
- 45:20I'm I was a little nervous too 'cause I just planted some
- 45:22pepper plants and I'm like, Oh my God, what if they destroy it?
- 45:26And so this is where my mind goes.
- 45:27Yeah. Oh, now Bobby's out there
- 45:29monitoring. Oh yeah, they can't.
- 45:34So they speak Spanish and Bobby, I'm like, they didn't.
- 45:39Understand anything you guys were saying.
- 45:41No. And I was like, can you tell
- 45:42them to stop? Like, 'cause he kept sawing away
- 45:44at the tree and I'm trying to get these chickens who are like
- 45:48And so then I'm like, he's like, how do you say stop in Spanish?
- 45:52And I was like, I don't stop. How do you say stop?
- 45:54Caliente, that's hot. No, that's yeah, that's spicy.
- 45:58Right, that's 7. No, yeah.
- 46:01Oh my gosh. Now I don't know, I pretty sure
- 46:04she's in. She's in Spanish.
- 46:05Oh wait, 2 right now she's. I learned to say stop in
- 46:09Spanish. Let me.
- 46:13Now I'm now. Are you looking it up?
- 46:15Yeah, OK. Stop in Spanish.
- 46:19El stope I don't like genuinely. I feel like some of the C what?
- 46:26I'm pretty sure no, no, that's oh C is yes, oh para.
- 46:31Stop. In Spanish.
- 46:33It's just. Para.
- 46:35Para. Para.
- 46:36You should just go out there yelling para.
- 46:38All I did was stop. I don't know, like stop me
- 46:42anyway, like OK. Crisis averted.
- 46:48There was this whole podcast and then you'd been like, the all
- 46:52the chicken serves us. Oh, Bobby's going back out.
- 46:54Bobby's going back out. OK?
- 47:00I think we've covered some good ground.
- 47:02You're not gonna be able to focus now that your chickens
- 47:04potentially are in danger. They're all locked away now, so
- 47:07they're OK. Good.
- 47:08Let's pull a card or two from the.
- 47:10Stack Oh, by the way, with these cards, Bobby and I.
- 47:16Oh, another glimmer that you really got us into for your
- 47:21influence. Since you redid our back porch,
- 47:27we've been having breakfast out there every morning.
- 47:30Cute and such good weather for it, I'm sure.
- 47:33Well, it's mosquito time which is the worst.
- 47:37We have some fans. Mosquito that early.
- 47:40Yeah. It's already like that warm.
- 47:42Yeah. Oh, it's warm.
- 47:43It's. Hot the mosquitoes get through
- 47:45your whatever those are called the screens.
- 47:50Yeah, there's a couple holes and we've been leaving the door
- 47:53open. So that's.
- 47:54Our call. OK, well that'll that'll do it.
- 47:57But they are just relentless. Oh my gosh, they're like Charlie
- 48:01when it comes to food. Yes.
- 48:04Relentless. Yeah.
- 48:07But so we've been asking, or I've been asking him questions
- 48:11from these cards. Some of them are a little like
- 48:14whoa, like a little a little deep.
- 48:16OK, can I say pass if I don't like it?
- 48:20Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh.
- 48:24What are the odds? Look at this deck.
- 48:26How many cards? Oh my gosh.
- 48:28OK. What feels unreachable to you?
- 48:31Didn't we pass that? Yes.
- 48:34And I literally went like this and picked a card.
- 48:36What are the odds of that? Why did Maybe it wants us to
- 48:39focus on what we feel is unreachable and do it?
- 48:42Well, I was gonna say last time, Well.
- 48:44Oh, like a thing. OK, Yeah, OK, let me.
- 48:47No. What were you gonna say last
- 48:48time? Well, when I was thinking like,
- 48:50what's unreached? The only thing, oh this is sad,
- 48:52but I'm not sad right now so it's fine, is my dad.
- 48:55Like being able to talk to him totally.
- 48:57Yeah, but I liked how we were. I loved your answer.
- 49:00I love hearing about your goals and stuff.
- 49:04Oh, what's a moment when a stranger made you feel loved?
- 49:10Loved. Yeah.
- 49:11Do you like strange? Would you let a stranger make
- 49:14you feel loved? Honestly, that's not for me.
- 49:17If my feeling is for you, like you liked that question.
- 49:19I'm a little like, I have an answer.
- 49:22I, I guess like I don't think loved because like a stranger
- 49:25can't love me, but feel like warmth and like, you know,
- 49:31compassion. I like that.
- 49:33I mean, the most recent thing that immediately came to my head
- 49:35and it's like not even anything crazy is not long ago someone
- 49:39paid for us to do a coffee drive through and I just always think
- 49:42that's super nice. That's so nice, yeah.
- 49:45So I would say that's a really nice stranger thing to do.
- 49:48Yeah, that's nice. Yeah.
- 49:51Yeah. So one time when we were up in
- 49:54Georgia, it's Decatur visiting family, but we love going to
- 49:58this little YMCA. And so we were upstairs working
- 50:02out and this cute little old lady came over and she was like,
- 50:06I've been watching you 2 and you 2 are so cute together.
- 50:09I. Was like about you and Bobby.
- 50:11Yeah, no one's ever said that to me.
- 50:13I was like. That's really nice.
- 50:15OK, I like that. Or she said something like you 2
- 50:19you could tell how much you 2 love each other or something.
- 50:22That's cute. Yeah, I love that.
- 50:25OK, that's amazing. OK, let's see.
- 50:33Oh, OK, I'll ask you this why 'cause I I will this sorry I'm
- 50:38thinking in my head out did. You get that card with Bobby?
- 50:41Yes. Oh, OK.
- 50:43I guess the odds are not that rare.
- 50:45How do you think your life should be judged?
- 50:49I don't think it should be love that like by who?
- 50:54I think the only one that should be judging it is myself.
- 50:59Any greater power that I feel drawn to?
- 51:02Yeah. But otherwise, yeah, I don't
- 51:05think it should be judged. Oh, that's such a good answer.
- 51:08It's a very strong answer. Well, good, it's my answer and
- 51:12I'm sticking to it. Like I answered it when I was
- 51:17talking about it with Bobby. I was thinking if someone did
- 51:20judge, whoa, if they were being, like, a little judgy about my
- 51:26life or something, you know, like that, I would be like,
- 51:29well, what? They should judge it as is.
- 51:31We're very happy. Sometimes I think we don't have
- 51:33kids. Like, someone might be like, oh,
- 51:35well, they're missing out on kids, but I'm like, they should
- 51:39judge us or judge it as we're very happy.
- 51:45That's basically it. I said something about the
- 51:46garden, too. But yeah, I love that one more.
- 51:51Yeah. One more.
- 51:56OK, this I don't understand what is going on.
- 51:59I I feel like I asked Bobby this morning.
- 52:01I. Thought the when you're doing
- 52:04the whole shuffling, it sounds like a fart in the in the
- 52:08microphone, yeah. I thought I'd get one another.
- 52:16What is going on? Do you and Bobby just sit out
- 52:19there and do all of them? In the.
- 52:21Is there a woman in a dress out there?
- 52:24No, I was behind you. What is?
- 52:26Is that Bobby or is that a woman?
- 52:28Oh, it's Bobby. He's wearing a tank top that's a
- 52:30little large it. Looks OK.
- 52:33That's his arms. It looked like there was a belt
- 52:36underneath. I was like, what?
- 52:38Why would there be a woman in a dress in our backyard?
- 52:41What is the day? That would just be odd.
- 52:45Like what are the? What is the reasoning for that?
- 52:51Oh. OK, what was the soundtrack to
- 52:54your teenage years? I swear on my life, that's the
- 52:57fourth card that I've pulled that I no.
- 53:02Matter what they say, words can bring me down.
- 53:10That's yours. How sad is that?
- 53:13That's your soundtrack. That's the song you'd pick.
- 53:15That's my high school. Well, it's between that and
- 53:19like, Oh my gosh, this is the song that brings me back to like
- 53:23my childhood, which is not or not even childhood, but like my
- 53:26high school years is only because of experiences.
- 53:30We used to, my mom used to have this Lexus that it was like kind
- 53:36of like a sports car but was like a long sedan.
- 53:38And in the back it had like you could put 8 CDs in it.
- 53:42It was like, you know where cars used to have CDs.
- 53:45Well the trunk had these like loud speakers in it.
- 53:49We would open it up and put on low, low, low, low apple bottom
- 53:55jeans, jeans with the hair and like Just Dance in our driveway.
- 54:02Me and my friends and my mom would be out there dancing and
- 54:05dropping it low with us. So I would I would have to go
- 54:08with that. I love that.
- 54:10Yeah. So I did one that was a little
- 54:12bit sad and depressing and then one that was truly probably how
- 54:16most of the time was, was Apple bottom jeans.
- 54:19I mean is it just called low I think.
- 54:21It's with the fur. I don't know.
- 54:23I think it's low. I don't know it could be get low
- 54:26where. It's like balls to the wall or
- 54:28like, oh balls or sweaty. To the wall, to the wall, to the
- 54:33sweat, drips, balls, all these crawl, ski, ski, ski,
- 54:39motherfucker, ski ski. God damn.
- 54:44OK, what's yours? Well, well, lyrics.
- 54:49This just made me think of like, Speaking of lyrics, we never
- 54:52said anything about lyrics, but in my head, Speaking of lyrics,
- 54:56I was listening. The song came on by JoJo Get.
- 55:00It out right now it's. The end of you, if you listen to
- 55:07those lyrics, JoJo was teaching us how guys were going to treat
- 55:13us in a very way. Ahead of it.
- 55:16Well, she just like she made like a lot of songs, I'm sure
- 55:19made it seem like he's going to do you wrong and he's going to
- 55:22like, you know, like all the like negative stuff or whatever.
- 55:27Totally. I was just thinking, Oh my gosh,
- 55:28I was singing that. I don't even know if I
- 55:30understood the lyrics. I was just oh.
- 55:33There's so many songs that I did not understand the lyrics that I
- 55:36would just sing out loud that now I'm like, OK, see you like
- 55:41from your like not even childhood, but like, what did it
- 55:44say? I don't even remember the
- 55:44question. What was the soundtrack to your
- 55:47teenage years? OK, teenage years, yeah.
- 55:48So the ones that I said were. Well, so for me, like Britney
- 55:52Spears was really popular and stuff like that.
- 55:54Like Toxic, I Can't Sing that. But yeah, that was so big.
- 55:58But I was listening. To I'm toxic.
- 56:02I don't know all the words though.
- 56:06But yeah. So-called basically just call me
- 56:09Brit. One time I remember like we were
- 56:13in high school, there was, we went to this bar downtown and I
- 56:17was wearing schools. It was bad.
- 56:20We shouldn't have done that. We were, I was.
- 56:22Talking straight edge. Oh my God, I was not.
- 56:25I just went where everyone wanted to go.
- 56:27I didn't even think about it, really.
- 56:30So we went to this one place and I remember I was wearing and I
- 56:33was always taller than my friends, so I don't even know
- 56:34what I was thinking. I was trying to attract an older
- 56:37male I think, so I had these. Well you ended up getting your
- 56:45older male there lady, so I'm not much older than you, but
- 56:48he's older. Whatever he says when I say a
- 56:49song. And he was like, Oh, yeah, I was
- 56:51in high school when you were in or.
- 56:53No, I was you. Know what?
- 56:54Five years older than. You 8th grade or something?
- 56:57Yeah, five years. OK, but I was wearing these
- 57:01stiletto black boots, stilettos stiletto.
- 57:05They were the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn in my
- 57:08entire life. Oh, I believe it.
- 57:11But I was like in such a vibe, like I was in my my friend Julia
- 57:15was driving and it was four of us and she had like a really
- 57:18cute cool Volvo car that was like red and speedy you guys
- 57:22had. Really cool cars as.
- 57:24Oh, I didn't, so that's go ahead.
- 57:26Put the oh I did a cabriolet. Cabriolet, Are you kidding?
- 57:31Time no one appreciated it like we should have.
- 57:34I got. An injury from getting wait,
- 57:37you're I can't hear you. You're not on the mic.
- 57:39I got an injury on my leg from chicken wrangling I think.
- 57:42Are you serious? Not an injury.
- 57:45So this might be one of our most random podcasts or just the most
- 57:50like. I think I'm breathing and I
- 57:54apologize. No, me too.
- 57:57OK, Yeah. I'm singing, I'm like all over
- 58:00the place. I've got can I random men in the
- 58:03back of my we've got the what? The only man that's supposed to
- 58:06be here? And then I've got water men
- 58:08behind me and you're like, hi, Casey, not Casey.
- 58:12And then random rogue tree trimmers like what is going on?
- 58:15Literally like, what are you doing?
- 58:19Can I tell you one more weird music 'cause I love music, I
- 58:22have a lot of music memories. Same so.
- 58:25My friend Carly, she had, it was like, you know, the car.
- 58:30It was an eclipse. Oh yeah, so cool.
- 58:34Back then those were so cool. But now if you see one on the
- 58:36road, you're like they're. Cringe.
- 58:38Hitting it's like why did we Mitsubishi Eclipse?
- 58:42It was so cool you. Had one, you were pretty cool.
- 58:46Oh my gosh. OK, so my friend Carly had one
- 58:48and it was red and it was so cool.
- 58:50Oh no, Cougar, What's that? I don't know what that is, a
- 58:55Ford. Maybe, but it was kind of, it
- 58:59was very zippy and it was called Cougar was the type of car red
- 59:04And I remember it felt so cool when we were like driving or I
- 59:07wasn't. Driving.
- 59:08I mean, it's called a cougar, so of course it's just like the
- 59:10coolest thing ever, but. It was so fast, so dangerous,
- 59:15but so, but she put, I remember this so vividly, where she put
- 59:19on the song, you know, Limp Bizkit.
- 59:22Yes. You know the song rolling.
- 59:25Rolling with? No, that's not Limp Bizkit.
- 59:27Is that what I'm thinking of? Rolling with my homies.
- 59:29Yeah, that's so. Different rolling, rolling,
- 59:31rolling, rolling. We see the sun.
- 59:36She would put that soundtrack on and I felt like I was in another
- 59:39dimension. You're just like I am.
- 59:40We are so cool. Coolest.
- 59:45She drives so fast and have that blaring.
- 59:47I was like, oh God, we've made it.
- 59:49This is the coolest. We've made it.
- 59:53Oh my God. She has so many memories in
- 59:56other friends cars. No, he's asking questions.
- 1:00:00Come ask a question. Did her car have one of those
- 1:00:03moon roofs that you put in yourself or sunroof?
- 1:00:06A moon roof that she put in sunroof.
- 1:00:09What's a moon roof? Oh, sunroof, same thing.
- 1:00:13I don't. She might, she might have had
- 1:00:14one, but it was already installed.
- 1:00:17I've never heard of one that you put in yourself.
- 1:00:19Yeah. People thought it was cool.
- 1:00:21Bobby. You see, like those little Chevy
- 1:00:23cars that somebody would put in like a sunroof themselves.
- 1:00:26They'd have to like pop it up and then bring it back down.
- 1:00:29Did you ever see those? No, no, never in my lifetime.
- 1:00:33Was that a Wisconsin thing? It.
- 1:00:35Could have been you'd also have like big subwoofers in the back
- 1:00:38and they'd be thinking they're so cool.
- 1:00:41OK, I'm pretty sure I lost my hearing when I rode in at least
- 1:00:44one car where guys had crazy bounce.
- 1:00:47Not bounce. What is it, Bass?
- 1:00:49Bass. Like just vibrating the entire
- 1:00:52car. One moment, have bad hearing?
- 1:00:55Now you're listening to Limp Bizkit.
- 1:00:58I swear I. Do you hear my number?
- 1:01:02Limp Bizkit? OK, Lip.
- 1:01:06Bizkit. Limp Bizkit.
- 1:01:08With AZ. Another song that I feel like is
- 1:01:10so high school years and then we sang it at this last trainer and
- 1:01:14you is do you if you want to be my lover God.
- 1:01:21Give friends making the game is. Forever friendship never ends.
- 1:01:27You want to be my lover. You have got to give.
- 1:01:31Amazing, but that's it's the way it is.
- 1:01:36So here's a story from A-Z. You want to get with me?
- 1:01:38You got to listen. I'm in the place you like,
- 1:01:41sitting in place You got I always.
- 1:01:43Lose nothing? Yeah, I don't know it either.
- 1:01:46So everybody down and want it all around.
- 1:01:48So everybody down and want it all around.
- 1:01:50If you want. Oh my God, no that.
- 1:01:54Is one of my favorite things when I'm singing a song, Yeah.
- 1:01:57When I hit those little side notes, you know when they'll
- 1:02:00like say something and then it's like.
- 1:02:03Obviously I know those are the key parts of the song, like the
- 1:02:08key parts. Did you ever listen to Ace of
- 1:02:10Bass? No, I don't even know what that
- 1:02:12is. Oh, I'm aging myself now.
- 1:02:14Is someone else gonna know this? Step of bass.
- 1:02:18Ace of bass. Oh no, singing something.
- 1:02:22The sign. Oh, shoot.
- 1:02:25Maybe I know the song, but that band doesn't sound familiar.
- 1:02:30Oh my gosh I usually hear these their songs in Publix.
- 1:02:34Publix is on it with like throwbacks.
- 1:02:36Really. Yeah, they have like such good.
- 1:02:38I don't know if it's like a 90s station, but no rap.
- 1:02:41It's like very. Did you?
- 1:02:42Guys have, and maybe this is also Wisconsin thing just
- 1:02:44because like we needed things to do in the winter, but did you
- 1:02:47guys have like a place where you went like rollerblading inside
- 1:02:51or like roller skating inside? Oh, we had all night Friday
- 1:02:56skates. OK.
- 1:02:57Did you do that? Our place was called High Roller
- 1:03:00and you would go and it was like they would have specific nights
- 1:03:06too. But like it was definitely like
- 1:03:07my age, like in middle school was really when we went and you
- 1:03:12could go and like you'd have like songs that come on, you'd
- 1:03:16hold someone's hand and skate around.
- 1:03:18You could like go up to this DJ and buy someone a flower and get
- 1:03:23it delivered to the person. The amount of times me and my
- 1:03:27friends would go buy our own flowers.
- 1:03:29Oh my God I just got chills. Like and act like it came from
- 1:03:33someone can. I tell you that I did that.
- 1:03:36I'm saying I did that. I did that too.
- 1:03:39Yeah, OK, no shame. Literally.
- 1:03:42And the song that would always come on that you would, like,
- 1:03:44hold hands and skate around is you put my picture away.
- 1:03:52How's it go? Case, dude.
- 1:03:54Yeah. Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock.
- 1:03:57Oh, OK. Help me, help me.
- 1:04:01Oh my gosh, why am I drawing blank?
- 1:04:05Put your picture. I know, sing it.
- 1:04:16Something like that. And then I would have a flower
- 1:04:18delivered from whatever guy I had a crush on.
- 1:04:22But it but it was really me that wrote it to myself.
- 1:04:25Wait, wait a second. You put a real person's name on
- 1:04:28it? A. 100% did wait.
- 1:04:30Did you hear that with other people and like, tell them like
- 1:04:33Sean gave me the flower? I sure did.
- 1:04:36Did it ever get back to Sean? Probably no shame in my Sean
- 1:04:40game. I would just put secret admirer.
- 1:04:46That was probably a better move. That was probably a better move.
- 1:04:50There's probably a reason I never picked up Sean.
- 1:04:52You're probably like, oh, Stage 5.
- 1:04:55Yeah, it's like, whoa, like who's the secret admirer?
- 1:05:00I don't know. I told you how someone one time
- 1:05:05created a page about me. It was like AI love Bethany
- 1:05:08page. Are you?
- 1:05:09You lived for that. You loved it, didn't you?
- 1:05:11Well, I swear. When I worked at a Planet
- 1:05:15Fitness, OK, and it was like, yes, you did picture was a
- 1:05:19gorilla. So it like took a weird turn
- 1:05:22where at first it was like. Please, you know this story.
- 1:05:27I'll have to. I'll have to refresh him on it.
- 1:05:29But there's all such nice things about me.
- 1:05:31It's like they had been watching me and they like.
- 1:05:33EW. Oh, that's Bethany.
- 1:05:35That's not all nice things. That's called stalker.
- 1:05:37I know looking back I could see it could turn into a Lifetime
- 1:05:40movie real quick, but back then I was like, Oh my God, yeah.
- 1:05:44But then the, well, then they put the pictures of gorilla.
- 1:05:47I don't like that. I don't like that.
- 1:05:50Oh my. Gosh, I knew OK where back then
- 1:05:52I would have gotten it done. But that's why is they thought
- 1:05:57you were hairy. No, like everything was so nice.
- 1:06:01I think that's just the picture they chose of like maybe it was
- 1:06:05them 'cause it was like a page dedicated to me, like saying all
- 1:06:09these nice things and I was like 20 and I'm like.
- 1:06:11Yeah. Oh my gosh, this is that's
- 1:06:13scary. I think that maybe you were
- 1:06:15like, we're a teenager. You're a 20 year old.
- 1:06:19Yeah. OK, well, I'm glad you.
- 1:06:22Wouldn't last note throw us out I guess or whatever, but unless
- 1:06:26you have more to say, obviously anyone with kids.
- 1:06:35OK, well, no, I'm not gonna give parenting advice, but because I
- 1:06:39don't know what that's like. But a child's confidence is
- 1:06:44everything. Yes, I totally agree with that.
- 1:06:48That's what well, I saw this thing.
- 1:06:50Well, contacts contacts is Gary Vaynerchuk, you know, OK, so I
- 1:06:58saw this video where someone came up to him and was like, my
- 1:07:01daughter is 13. Like how do I protect her from
- 1:07:04like social media and all like the negativity or just even
- 1:07:07like, you know, self esteem stuff or whatever.
- 1:07:11And he, I forget how he said it, but he was like, you need to
- 1:07:16like make sure your daughter knows her worth at this age.
- 1:07:21Like really like, I don't know, boost her up was how he said it.
- 1:07:24But I think that's all the decisions I made in my 20s.
- 1:07:28Let's say like with guys, they were all made from a space of I
- 1:07:33am so insecure about myself even though I had a great like family
- 1:07:36and stuff but I didn't have that of like feeling confident in
- 1:07:41myself. In different ways you probably
- 1:07:43did, but not in that way. Maybe in friendships I was like
- 1:07:47pretty social, more social than I think I am now.
- 1:07:50But yeah, but just like in like romance kind of stuff.
- 1:07:55No confidence. Totally.
- 1:07:57But you're still looking at Casey in high school.
- 1:08:01Yeah, I, yes. And I think that's another thing
- 1:08:04like we've talked about this so many times is we are literally
- 1:08:07not even close to the same people we were then.
- 1:08:10And we've gone through so many phases in our relationship.
- 1:08:13We're in the best spot, I would say.
- 1:08:14I mean, obviously I've had but the last couple of years, even
- 1:08:18though they've been hard years, I would say it's like the most
- 1:08:20grounded in our relationship. We've been if we were still Kate
- 1:08:23and Casey back when we met in high school, I I'd honestly
- 1:08:25don't think we'd be together. And we both have said that.
- 1:08:28Yeah, I definitely think we probably would have like either
- 1:08:30not gotten. We probably still would have
- 1:08:32gotten married because we got married young.
- 1:08:33We probably would be divorced. I don't, I know that sounds like
- 1:08:37a bracelet to say, but like different phases of our
- 1:08:40relationship. I'm like, yeah, good thing we
- 1:08:42didn't stick there long. Like that would not have worked
- 1:08:44for us. But yeah, I just don't like, oh,
- 1:08:49go ahead. No, I just don't.
- 1:08:53I'll go first. Give you a second.
- 1:08:55Yeah. No, but like, I will, you know,
- 1:08:57people will be like this high school sweethearts and stuff.
- 1:08:59And like, yeah, we, we are. And we've been together for that
- 1:09:02long, but it's definitely not like the people that knew us
- 1:09:07back when we first started dating is like we have
- 1:09:10similarities, of course, from when we were younger, but just
- 1:09:13it's so different. I'm just glad that we grew well
- 1:09:16as individuals together because I feel like we're both very
- 1:09:20different people. That's another thing that's been
- 1:09:22coming up in therapy, so. Oh my gosh, I love that.
- 1:09:26Yeah. I was talking to my dental
- 1:09:27hygienist yesterday and she was saying because her and her
- 1:09:30husband have been together almost as long or longer than me
- 1:09:33and Bobby. And she was like, isn't it so
- 1:09:35cool? Like you just get to grow
- 1:09:38together and go through different phases together.
- 1:09:40And I was like, yeah, as long as you're like on the same page.
- 1:09:43Like I can't believe, like Bobby recently was like, I don't know
- 1:09:46who you are because he said it in a nice way.
- 1:09:49Because I've been outside more and in the garden, which that's
- 1:09:52not really my MO. I'd rather usually be inside
- 1:09:54watching TV. And I was like, I know.
- 1:09:58And but yeah, changing together and having things in common and
- 1:10:02cool. That your your dental hygienist
- 1:10:05said that because I feel like a lot of like at least people that
- 1:10:09I've had like kind of weird interactions with it like
- 1:10:13something like that. It's like, Oh well, yeah, you
- 1:10:15know, after you've been together for so long, it's.
- 1:10:17Like I. Hate that?
- 1:10:19A negative spin on it. Yes, I love that your dental
- 1:10:22hygienist was like a really positive spin on it because I
- 1:10:27feel like, you know, the length of time that, you know, we've
- 1:10:30been together, both of us with our, you know, husbands is such
- 1:10:35a cool thing because and also like, I feel like we all do work
- 1:10:41to like and honestly, like we do work on ourselves and stuff.
- 1:10:44I I it's not that I don't feel like being in a relationship is
- 1:10:47that hard. OK.
- 1:10:48Do you ever hear people when they say like?
- 1:10:50They're just so hard. I don't, I think it's the
- 1:10:53easiest part of my life now. We've had our phases.
- 1:10:57Like I'm not sugar like we've definitely had our like because
- 1:10:59we were also children when we started dating.
- 1:11:03So like we've had like we've had to have our mess ups and our
- 1:11:08weird growth spurts almost together, if that makes sense.
- 1:11:12So like when we were younger, we had no business being in a
- 1:11:14serious relationship like so. But now I'm like, I think
- 1:11:19marriage is the easiest part of my life and like the best part
- 1:11:23of my life. Maybe.
- 1:11:25I wonder if that's because, like, whatever, like if Bobby
- 1:11:28and I have an argument or we like, have to work through
- 1:11:31something, it can be uncomfortable.
- 1:11:32But I'm so invested in it and I love him so much.
- 1:11:35That like I'm gonna see it through regardless of if it.
- 1:11:39Doesn't feel like work like other things in life feel like.
- 1:11:42Work like vacuuming feels like work.
- 1:11:44Oh. My gosh, by the way, 'cause I've
- 1:11:45been vacuuming the back porch. More laughing.
- 1:11:47At me. It hurts my my back so much
- 1:11:50sometimes. Oh my gosh.
- 1:11:52Anyway, another saying I. Work.
- 1:11:56He wants me to pick weeds with him, I said.
- 1:11:58Picking. Weeds.
- 1:11:58That's work. I'm, I don't, I'm not invested
- 1:12:01in that kind of work. But sometimes it's very
- 1:12:04satisfying. It's almost like the blackheads
- 1:12:06of the garden. I OK, that makes me a little bit
- 1:12:11more wanting to do it 'cause I love popping blackheads.
- 1:12:14Well, so when you pull it and you get the whole root.
- 1:12:17Very satisfying. My lower back hates it though.
- 1:12:20The same. Yeah, that's probably.
- 1:12:22Like the size of our yard. I don't want to do it trying to
- 1:12:26get me to do it. I'd rather hire someone to do
- 1:12:29it. Yeah, that's just better use of
- 1:12:32your time. That's what I one other saying I
- 1:12:34don't like is it's always something.
- 1:12:41What I mean facts. There is always something.
- 1:12:47I don't like it because it's true.
- 1:12:49Yeah, when certain people say so and I'm like.
- 1:12:52Like I'm like, cry me a river. Yeah, life in general, that's
- 1:12:59pretty good. I don't know.
- 1:13:00I don't. I don't whatever.
- 1:13:02And that's two people who have dealt with really hard things in
- 1:13:06their life saying that. Yeah, yes.
- 1:13:08So I think that's very good perspective.
- 1:13:11Yeah. I literally, I tried to cut this
- 1:13:15a while ago now I can't stop talking.
- 1:13:17There was something on shrinking that we were watching last night
- 1:13:20that Derek, the one that I'm like reminds me so much of Casey
- 1:13:24said, no, this isn't going to land because I don't even
- 1:13:27remember what he said. But his perspective of how he
- 1:13:30said something when it was like something really rough and like
- 1:13:34scary to be going through how and it was happening to him.
- 1:13:39It was just such a realistic but also positive way to spin on it,
- 1:13:43but not like positive in a way where it's like you just have to
- 1:13:46be like everything's going to be OK because sometimes
- 1:13:48everything's not OK. But how he warded it.
- 1:13:51I was just like, yes, that's how I want to live my life is like I
- 1:13:55I want to live it in like the I have these opportunities now.
- 1:13:59We're here now and we all know we could say like, life is
- 1:14:04short. We might not have tomorrow.
- 1:14:06We all know that. So like, I'd have to like go
- 1:14:10back to it. But I like looked over at Casey.
- 1:14:12I'm like, I love how he said that.
- 1:14:14We're we watching it? Yeah, we're in Season 3 now, so.
- 1:14:19OK, yeah, we're in season 1. Enjoy it again.
- 1:14:22Now you're going to look at it from a different perspective
- 1:14:24because I pointed out some of my favorite parts.
- 1:14:27Oh yeah, no. And I love rewatching stuff like
- 1:14:29Brian is one of my favorite characters.
- 1:14:31Love Brian. Love Brian his.
- 1:14:34Mannerisms, the way he says things.
- 1:14:37I actually feel like I'm the most like Brian.
- 1:14:41So Casey's very much Derek. Liz gets more and more savage
- 1:14:45with the seasons, so sometimes I'm like Liz.
- 1:14:48Like I really like her, but I'm also like, I really feel like
- 1:14:51I'm a combo of Brian Gabby. And then I will say I have a
- 1:14:59little Liz in me. Yeah, a little.
- 1:15:01OK. Yeah.
- 1:15:02It doesn't make me want to give rocks away or something very
- 1:15:04specific. That's like if you get a rock.
- 1:15:07That is the Liz in you. That is not the Liz in me.
- 1:15:10You're very, I would say you're very Derek with a dash of Liz
- 1:15:14and I would say you also have some Brian in you.
- 1:15:20OK, Yeah, I. Like that, I like when Brian's
- 1:15:22is like you're not as like cutthroat as Brian, right?
- 1:15:26I'm a little bit more cutthroat like Brian, but he'll do stuff
- 1:15:30like the people pleasing where he's like to their OK.
- 1:15:35It's the example of when they end up having the baby.
- 1:15:38Yeah. And in the hospital room with
- 1:15:41the birth mother, he's like, OK, Yep.
- 1:15:44Like, you've got this, What you're doing so well and then
- 1:15:48goes and steps out. You need to get here right now.
- 1:15:50Like, this is not OK. We're not OK.
- 1:15:52That's kind of like you or you're like, yeah, like my mom
- 1:15:55is doing this. And it's like, hi, mommy.
- 1:15:57Yeah. OK.
- 1:16:01We are now rambling and I'm loving every second of it, but
- 1:16:06you gotta keep on keeping on, you know?
- 1:16:07OK, well this was a while I'm. Gonna try to say all the sayings
- 1:16:10that you don't like it's just what what's the one you just
- 1:16:14said you don't really like it's. Always something.
- 1:16:16It's always something and I gotta go do something 'cause
- 1:16:18I've always got something going. Moist.
- 1:16:24I just figure you don't like that word.
- 1:16:25Probably. Don't ever say moist to me
- 1:16:28again, OK? Have a great rest of your day.
- 1:16:32I hope the chickens stay in their coop and everyone's safe
- 1:16:34and sound. I'm gonna go eat some lunch and
- 1:16:36then Oh my. Gosh.
- 1:16:39He's warming up fish, OK. Do that again.
- 1:16:44That makes me laugh. They did it too.
- 1:16:48No, it's like when someone really is about to throw up.
- 1:16:50It's. Like I I literally can't make
- 1:16:51myself fake it again right now because now I'm smelling the
- 1:16:53fish. I I love fish, but I don't like
- 1:16:55reheated fish. Can you imagine if you threw up
- 1:16:58on this podcast? Don't do that.
- 1:17:01I can't imagine. OK, bye, bye.
