- 0:27SPEAKER_05: Hello and welcome to A Court of Chapters and Chatter, a weekly, or what was a weekly chapter-by-chapter reread of A Court of Thorns and Roses.
- 0:37SPEAKER_05: I'm one of your hosts, Hunter.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: And I'm your other host, Rachel.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And today we're just gonna kind of like talk about what we've been reading, some of our thoughts about the upcoming Avatar book.
- 0:49SPEAKER_05: We're gonna do whatever we want.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: And then hopefully next week or so.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: We'll get back to it.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: We'll dive back in.
- 0:57SPEAKER_05: We'll we'll get there.
- 0:58SPEAKER_05: We're easing back into it.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:03SPEAKER_05: So what have you been reading?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 1:06SPEAKER_05: Oh, wait, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08SPEAKER_05: Spoiler warning.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Spoiler warning uh for all of the Sarah J.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Mass books.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Court of Thrones and Roses, Throne of Glass, Crescent City.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: We talk about all of it here.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: So if you have not read one or all of those And whatever the hells.
- 1:26SPEAKER_05: Whatever the hell else.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Or whatever else.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Usually we're pretty good when we start to talk about a different book.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: We'll say spoiler warning for this book.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: If you haven't read, stop listening now.
- 1:39SPEAKER_05: So uh what have you been reading?
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: The exact same thing I think I was reading last week, which is uh A Court of Silver Flames.
- 1:50SPEAKER_06: Did you uh finish your book club book?
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Uh which book oh no.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: No, I did not.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: But I did have book club and heard some interesting things on that book, and I don't think I would have enjoyed it.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I didn't enjoy what I heard, so.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: It wasn't the thriller or horror aspect of it.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: I don't know what I didn't enjoy, but I really think.
- 2:19SPEAKER_05: The narrator?
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 2:21SPEAKER_05: Um did you guys pick a new book?
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Uh well, I have two different book clubs that I'm reading books for.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: One we are reading what is it called?
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Uh The Horseman of Sleepy Hollow by Rebecca F.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Kenny.
- 2:49SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: So that's a really short read.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: So I'm waiting until closer to the end of the month to read that one.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And then my other book club is reading.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Uh Hold on, let me find it in our chat.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, Mexican Gothic by Silvia Morena Garcia.
- 3:22SPEAKER_05: Interesting.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: I think we're trying to go stick with the like thriller horror type of books right now that tie into like Halloween and spooky season.
- 3:34SPEAKER_05: Normally I would be able to tell which book club's which book.
- 3:38SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna guess Sleepy Hollow is Susan's book club.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Ah, okay.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 3:48SPEAKER_05: I'm not in a book club.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: No.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: No.
- 3:52SPEAKER_05: I read whatever I want.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: You listen.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: No, just kidding.
- 3:55SPEAKER_05: I read with my ears.
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: Uh I'm still what are you reading?
- 4:05SPEAKER_05: Working on Crescent City.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:09SPEAKER_05: Uh kicking around ideas and uh all that kind of stuff.
- 4:15SPEAKER_05: Uh definitely forgot so much of what happens in um House of Flame and Shadow after the Aquatar crossover part.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you you said that and I was like, you don't remember this happening?
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 4:34SPEAKER_05: Some of it's coming back, some of it's coming back more and more as I read, but I sort of crashed through that book in like 48 hours.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:46SPEAKER_05: To the point where like I was listening while cooking, listening while sitting at my computer, listening while playing World of Warcraft till one o'clock in the morning.
- 4:58SPEAKER_05: So I think in my urgency of getting to the end, I uh forgot a lot of it.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: I remember I guess I guess that's the difference when you're listening to an audiobook trying to get through uh a new release like that.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: And I read it on my Kindle, so I was able to highlight and retain more information that I read that way.
- 5:29SPEAKER_06: That makes sense.
- 5:32SPEAKER_05: Um it's interesting.
- 5:35SPEAKER_05: Uh it's better than I remembered.
- 5:40SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: Um I think it was my opinion, was very colored with expectations of the crossover more than it was.
- 5:54SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's it's honestly it's worst case scenario crossover.
- 6:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:00SPEAKER_05: You have like two of the most bitchy my way or the highway, I don't like people anyway, two characters.
- 6:09SPEAKER_05: You have Nesta and Bryce, who I mean, it's a much better version of the both of them, but still not great.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: And then you have Reese and like Azriel kind of being dicks.
- 6:28SPEAKER_05: Which I get it from their point of view.
- 6:30SPEAKER_05: Like, okay, I don't really know you, and you just showed us visions of guns and magic bombs, and these people are gonna come chase after you.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Like uh Well, also on that part, like they've just been through hell for every book before this.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Like they've like everything that's happened, they've had people that they trusted that they could no longer trust, and so someone new coming through a portal, if you will.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: I don't really know what else to Yeah, they shouldn't be so shocked.
- 7:11SPEAKER_05: Well, I guess they weren't super shocked about.
- 7:15SPEAKER_05: I mean, they were surprised she showed up, but there's you know, Ailen flying through the sky and they're just like, hmm, that was cool.
- 7:22SPEAKER_05: Slowed her down.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:24SPEAKER_05: Whatever.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: But I don't know that they physically saw Ailen herself in that scene or just saw something.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, it was She saw them, but it doesn't we don't get their point of view for that part.
- 7:44SPEAKER_05: Oh, does Risa ever mention it?
- 7:47SPEAKER_05: No.
- 7:48SPEAKER_05: I feel like he mentions it like once.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 7:52SPEAKER_05: Maybe.
- 7:54SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: I don't I think you're making that up.
- 7:56SPEAKER_05: It's possible.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: But if you know Yeah, let us know.
- 8:01SPEAKER_05: Let us know.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: Feedback at chaptersandchatter.com.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Um I don't think I don't think so.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: I don't think they've ever talked about it on their end.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Because otherwise that would be a confirmed crossover point.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: It is a confirmed crossover point.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: It is and it isn't, but it is.
- 8:20SPEAKER_05: Please.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:22SPEAKER_05: But it's also part of what I want to talk about later.
- 8:26SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 8:27SPEAKER_05: So it will come back around.
- 8:29SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 8:29SPEAKER_05: Uh hold on, there was something else I wanted to say.
- 8:31SPEAKER_05: Um as far as Bryce showing up.
- 8:35SPEAKER_05: Uh, because Reese has um oh, what's her name?
- 8:44SPEAKER_05: The real bitchy priest lady.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Ianthe?
- 8:49SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: I guess there's many bitchy priest ladies.
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: Uh the one Emory is working for, not Emory, Gwen.
- 8:57SPEAKER_05: Gwyn?
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Gwynne.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, Merrill.
- 9:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Meryl's like researching.
- 9:03SPEAKER_05: Yes, and I have some thoughts on her and uh Cassian's like, oh yeah, Reese is just kind of like studying a telescope and star maps and whatever in his room.
- 9:19SPEAKER_05: He's like, I don't know, I thought it was boring.
- 9:21SPEAKER_05: I mean, to be fair, he is like But what he's doing sounds exactly the same as what the Autumn King is doing, or whatever his name is.
- 9:31SPEAKER_05: Is the Autumn King?
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm in uh Crescent City.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: Um Danan.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: I forget if we I forget his first name.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Oh shit.
- 9:47SPEAKER_05: That's another thing I wanted to ask you about.
- 9:49SPEAKER_05: Um do we ever get the uh King of Hibern's name?
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: No.
- 9:58SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: And she obviously does that on purpose, like in Throne of Glass.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: It was perfectly per purposefully left out what um Oh yeah, that was a pretty good uh Dorian's father's name was, which impactful when she finally revealed it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_05: And what was his name?
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: Dorian.
- 10:22SPEAKER_05: He's like the only way he could like grasp it was to name his son that, even though he couldn't remember why.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: They do they do give the Autumn King's name.
- 10:32SPEAKER_05: Hold on.
- 10:32SPEAKER_05: Is it well what's his name?
- 10:34SPEAKER_05: Sorry.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Anar Danin.
- 10:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: I think that's okay.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: I might be pronouncing it incorrectly because every time I pronounce anything I'm told it's incorrect because that's not how they say it in the audiobook.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: True.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: So is it pronounced Anar?
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: Uh probably.
- 10:56SPEAKER_05: I don't remember.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: E-I-N-A-R.
- 11:00SPEAKER_05: Einar, Enar, yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_05: Sounds like sounds correct.
- 11:05SPEAKER_05: Um The only reason I brought it up is because um the uh God, I've been listening to this book for like ten hours today, and I already can't remember places or people's names.
- 11:23SPEAKER_05: Um The other Faye in Crescent City, off on the other.
- 11:30SPEAKER_05: Avalon.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Avalon Fey.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Um Avalon, Avalon.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: I think it's Avalon.
- 11:36SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 11:36SPEAKER_05: Something like that.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: His name is Morvin.
- 11:42SPEAKER_05: I was like, man, I bet you that's the same name as goddamn King of Hibern.
- 11:47SPEAKER_05: Sounds like that would be his name.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: Morvin?
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Uh when I go back for my reread of that, I'll uh think about it.
- 12:00SPEAKER_05: I think they also the audiobooks, they give them both like an Irish-Scottish kind of because Hibern is based on Hibernia, which is Ireland.
- 12:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're both in their Ireland office.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: The night court is like Scotland or whatever.
- 12:18SPEAKER_05: And they're both grimy a hole.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can't tell me the king of Highburn and his pasty white skin with black eyes and black hair isn't a Vogue.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Or somehow related to Vogue.
- 12:39SPEAKER_05: I've got thoughts on that.
- 12:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:41SPEAKER_05: Maybe not directly towards him, but just Avatar in general and people.
- 12:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 12:53SPEAKER_05: Alright, Rachel, you're you're much more on the up and up on the Instagrams and the and the book stuff.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 13:01SPEAKER_05: Has there been any more quotes quotes or drops?
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Mm-mm.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Not since wait, did I the resand one?
- 13:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Did I read that one?
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: I don't remember.
- 13:15SPEAKER_05: I think it's new since last week.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: There was the three days ago.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Bloomsbury posted a quote from A Court of Splintered Harmony.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: It's overheard in the night court.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: It says Reese's lips pulled back from his teeth in a savage smile.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: With pleasure.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: That's the quote.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: Intentionally ambiguous.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: So it's obviously from someone else's point of view.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: They're viewing him doing this.
- 13:50SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, they're leaving a lot of ambiguous quotes that could be depending on who they're talking to or what they're talking about, could be read in a many different ways.
- 14:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_05: Like.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: To get people to Fair could be talk about it the entire time.
- 14:13SPEAKER_05: Trying to get him to come to bed or somebody's threatening him to fight.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: Or I think what did it say?
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: A savage lips pulling back into a savage smile?
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: I mean.
- 14:27SPEAKER_05: It could go either way.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: I'm trying not to theorize too much.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: I keep avoiding trying to avoid other people's theories.
- 14:38SPEAKER_05: Just because there been real leak spoilers?
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, and I've avoided them completely.
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: I haven't seen it.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: There was the leak of part of the book.
- 14:50SPEAKER_05: Like a paragraph or like a chapter.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: A page or two.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: From the book.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: And people were sharing it like crazy, but then it came out that it was leaked.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: And I thankfully avoided that and never went to seek it out because if she didn't want it out, I don't want to read it.
- 15:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_05: Called a spoiler for a reason.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: So I'm avoiding anything until the 27th.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: But I mean, I I want to have my own thoughts on it.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: I just don't want to go into the book with too many other people's theories.
- 15:32SPEAKER_05: And then listen to us talk about our theories.
- 15:35SPEAKER_05: No, I mean we're not theorizing on what we think book's gonna be.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I don't I just I'm interested in how the whole Mass Verse, if you will, on all three of the books play into each other and how they're interconnected.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm enjoying about this.
- 15:57SPEAKER_05: I think we also went into the last Crest and City book with bigger expectations.
- 16:04SPEAKER_05: Well, which I mean now that I've I'm I'm coming like I've already said this, now that I'm coming back to it again with a fresh perspective and it's way better than being Avengers End game super hyped.
- 16:23SPEAKER_05: You know what I mean?
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I don't think that's the last time we're going to have a crossover.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: I think that was just a dip in it a toe dip in the pool, see how people what they think about this to help this side, and then we're gonna hype the big bad altogether later on.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Altogether.
- 16:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 16:51SPEAKER_05: Because I think inevitably, yeah.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Your theory of all three worlds are happening at the same time.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: We're gonna need some help.
- 17:03SPEAKER_05: Well, here's a question.
- 17:04SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 17:05SPEAKER_05: Do you think we're ever gonna see thrown of glass characters again?
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Has she said she has alluded to she's not fully ready to close the chapter on that.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: She loves those characters.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: And I would like to see those characters.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I have seen a few theories about this next book and how it could possibly tie into Throne of Glass.
- 17:43SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 17:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you did mention that a little bit.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, the audio book narrator says Kos Chai.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Which drives me insane because an S followed by a C H is pronounced sh.
- 17:59SPEAKER_05: But we'll go with Koshai.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Koshai.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: Um and the whole mythology behind his act like the actual mythology behind Koshai.
- 18:12SPEAKER_05: Well, do you want to get into that or do you want to Yeah, we can get into that.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Um there's the theory that he has, you know, his swans uh that are bound to the um the lake.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 18:29SPEAKER_05: Sorry, there's a train going by.
- 18:32SPEAKER_05: We're just gonna have to go with it.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Um he has his swans or birds or whatever, because I think all of them are swans except for Vassa.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: She was made to be a firebird or firebird or Phoenix?
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Something like that.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: One of them.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Um but that he ha in the original mythology there are thirteen of them.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: And uh how many of the uh we don't okay, we don't fully understand what happened with the thirteen in Throne of Glass, other than that they disappeared in a blinding light.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: They disappeared in a blinding light.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Um everyone believes they died.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: But the but um I don't know.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: I d I don't want to go too much into the theory, but it's an interesting thought that the f the birds that he has there are the thirteen.
- 19:39SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: After their yielding.
- 19:43SPEAKER_05: Now this is gonna be a embarrassing question.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: Embarrassing.
- 19:48SPEAKER_05: For somebody who's talking about these books in a podcast to ask.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: I've only done Throne a Glass once, and it was a long time ago, and it was before I was fully invested in the full series.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: I'm in the middle of my reread, so that big giant end battle where all that happens.
- 20:11SPEAKER_05: That's Erawan's army closing in on Ailen's home territory, right?
- 20:19SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 20:24SPEAKER_06: Gotcha.
- 20:25SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: And in the process, Manon's grandmother and all of the witches besides the thirteen and any others that came with them.
- 20:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 20:39SPEAKER_05: Um They're fighting with them.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: They're at they're fighting with Ailen's side.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: And um That's right.
- 20:52SPEAKER_05: The Vogue had the stones that they were like making the wyverns with and stuff.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Or Wyvern's.
- 20:58SPEAKER_05: Wyvern's, wyverns, whatever.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: It's pr pronounced Wyvern.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: I used to call them Wyvern's, and then some someone told me it was Wyvern.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: Um they have that uh I forget the word they called it, but it's like a witch tower.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: It's made of like mirrors or something.
- 21:14SPEAKER_05: It was like a big siege engine tower closing in on them, like from Lord of the Rings.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: And the 13 chose to sacrifice themselves to save everyone else.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And so Manon didn't have to sacrifice herself.
- 21:27SPEAKER_05: I see.
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they were shooting energy mirrors and and stuff.
- 21:33SPEAKER_05: They're what?
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: They're shooting like magic energy through a mirror and a magnifier or something, right?
- 21:39SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 21:40SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 21:41SPEAKER_05: It's been so long.
- 21:44SPEAKER_05: I'll have to go back.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, you do.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Because it's important.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Everything that happens in those books are important.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Um I can't remember what I was talking about.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: About Koshy and the 13 and Firebird and him collecting birds.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: That they refer to like I'm in the middle of my Silver Flames reread, too.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: That they refer to Nesta as a witch a lot.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Um But also the witches are they were able to use the witches specifically because they're part Vogue, right?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: They were created by I forget.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: So there was the specific creature which was a mix between a Vogue and a Fey, and then there was the Vogue and the Witch.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: And they 'cause they were trying to breed.
- 22:57SPEAKER_05: So the oh yeah yeah yeah yeah now I remember.
- 23:01SPEAKER_05: Um it reminds me of uh creation of the Urukai The mix between the orkes.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but see with the or Urukai Urukai?
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Urukai?
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: It's you.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: Urukai.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Uruk eye.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because it's two separate words, right?
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Uruk eye.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Um they're like buried in the ground to be created, whereas it the witches actually had to be like impregnated with the big stones.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: The stones in their belly button or whatever.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: I definitely have to go back and reread that.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: So I did I did um Assassin's Blade.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: I just finished that not too long ago.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: And I've read Air of Fire because that's my favorite.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: I love that book.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: I have to go back and reread the rest, though.
- 24:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'll have to get there.
- 24:03SPEAKER_05: I'm not gonna be able to do it before the next book, but maybe after.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: Maybe between.
- 24:08SPEAKER_05: Because we're getting two books, right?
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, one in October 27th and one on January 12th.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we have some time between them.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: I'll redo Throne of Glass between the two books.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: What was I going to say?
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, my first time reading Throne of Glass, I uh I I feel very embarrassed to say this.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: I fucking hated Manon.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: And her not that I hated Manon.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: It was the taking away from Ailen's abrupt story and departure from the main story.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: And having to get through all that just to get back to Ailen's story constantly that I sometimes skimmed through her pages because I didn't want to read them.
- 24:57SPEAKER_05: I remember I was like, what's with this fucking how to train your dragon shit?
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: But now I'm like, I love her character, especially towards the end in like um Kingdom of Ash.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: But now I feel like I missed out on a lot of information by doing that.
- 25:16SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 25:18SPEAKER_05: Probably.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: Her chapters were full of vogue information.
- 25:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: I wonder if uh Hypaxia is descended from the same people that Manon is.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Her story's interesting.
- 25:41SPEAKER_05: Because she's not just like a regular witch because she's like a necromancer or her mom is a witch, her dad was a necromancer.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: So she has like other powers and they kind of didn't they kinda didn't want her in charge.
- 25:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, she was too soft.
- 26:03SPEAKER_05: She was like a healer or two.
- 26:07SPEAKER_05: I'd be curious to see where her story goes.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:10SPEAKER_05: Um she's siblings with the hind, so they have different fathers with the same mother.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:23SPEAKER_05: Um while we're on the subject, you wanted to discuss how you think the three series tied together.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: I know we have some differing, semi-differing thoughts on this.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: You go first.
- 26:41SPEAKER_05: I'll let you speak without interrupting you.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: When I was reading them originally, my thought process was they're both happening simultaneously, but like also not simultaneously.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know how to describe it.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: But like they're three three of the worlds, but there's several of the worlds kind of on top of each other.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: They can't see what I'm doing.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: And but they're also happening years apart.
- 27:18SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: And there are characters from each of the books that are related to each other and get their magic from the books.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: Now, when I originally w started reading the books, I thought Akitar was the first like series and the first um would be happen would have happened first, then Throne of Glass and then Crescent City.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: And they're all like part of the same universe, but not the same world.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Um now I know obviously Throne of Glass would be first ish.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: But you your thought is what?
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: That they're all happening simultaneously.
- 28:23SPEAKER_05: I think there is enough evidence to establish that they are happening simultaneously, at least fairly close.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: I do believe that, and I don't believe that, and I don't know how else to describe it because when I originally read it, there were talks of all the great wars in each of the books that were happening, like one was like 15,000 years before they were they were, and then it was, you know, another how many thousands of years, and then another how many thousands of years before Crescent City.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: They all talked about that.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: So I just assumed it was like throwing a glass, and then 15,000 years went by and it was Akatar, and then you know, another five thousand or so years went by and it's Crescent City.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: But also like they're built on top of each other, so I'm not scientific, so I don't know how to describe that happening at the same time.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: Other than I can look at a star in the sky that it's there for me.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: But it could be dead in its own area, but I'm seeing it millions of light years away.
- 29:41SPEAKER_05: I'll I'll try to put what you're saying in words.
- 29:44SPEAKER_05: So you're saying that if somebody on Crescent City was observing the planet of Throne of Glass through a telescope, they're seeing it happen live to them, but it's because they're seeing it as light traveled fifteen thousand years to get to them.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 30:12SPEAKER_05: I mean that's your analogy of a star far away.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:17SPEAKER_05: Because like what's happening on the sun, we can is eight minutes in the past.
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: But to us it's happening now.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: We'll go with that.
- 30:30SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 30:31SPEAKER_05: So I feel like for my my hypothesis is that there is just enough evidence to establish that the all three series are happening roughly simultaneously.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:49SPEAKER_05: Um so you have the uh the two most obvious moments when Ailen crashes through the sky in Akatar.
- 31:03SPEAKER_05: She sees them, they see her.
- 31:08SPEAKER_05: And when she leaves, and then when she comes back to her world, the essentially same amount of time has happened.
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: She's experienced as much time as Rowan has, essentially.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 31:27SPEAKER_05: Then you have the obvious Bryce goes over and she spends like five days or something over on Ektar.
- 31:40SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 31:40SPEAKER_05: And then when she comes back, the exact same amount of time has passed.
- 31:45SPEAKER_05: She even comments on it.
- 31:47SPEAKER_05: She's like, okay, interesting.
- 31:49SPEAKER_05: No time stuff happening, same amount of time has passed.
- 31:53SPEAKER_05: Um, based on those instances, you can assume that the climax of throwing a glass happens sometime after uh Wings in Ruin and before Silver Flames or during because we're not privy to everything Reese and Faerra do during that period of time.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:34SPEAKER_05: And so then therefore you can establish that the climax of throwing a glass happens.
- 32:42SPEAKER_05: Well, wouldn't sorry a certain amount of time before Flame and Shadow is happening.
- 32:51SPEAKER_05: And then you have Thea uh Thea and Celine and their whole explanation of how the Valbar and Fey got to Crescent City uh fifteen thousand years ago-ish, when they killed the Daglin and excuse me, uh came over.
- 33:24SPEAKER_05: Well, they got bored being the high high king and high queen and went over to Crescent City and then they went kind of back and forth a little bit, brought their people over, and then realized what was really going on, and they all split up, and one of the daughters makes it back to Akatar.
- 33:47SPEAKER_05: Acatar and Prithian, sorry.
- 33:50SPEAKER_05: Marries into uh the night court family and makes everybody kind of forget that their whole island over there was ever its own court.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Kind of.
- 34:07SPEAKER_05: Then you also have the fact that the language Bryce speaks is what Amran remembers everybody speaking 15,000 years ago.
- 34:17SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Um I'm interested to understand how the language would have changed in Avatar.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: But not in Crescent City.
- 34:28SPEAKER_05: I feel like it's a almost like a So they've had the exact same ruler in Crescent City for the last 15,000 years.
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: You know, making rules and and everything.
- 34:49SPEAKER_05: So everybody takes their cues from him.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Them.
- 34:54SPEAKER_05: Them.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, I guess Rygelus would be the one.
- 34:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's the only real estere with any personality or character.
- 35:04SPEAKER_05: Um then you have Bryce and Rune, who are descendants of Thea who share lineage with Reese.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because of Celine.
- 35:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's fifteen thousand years of separate family lines.
- 35:29SPEAKER_05: And then you have uh Danica.
- 35:37SPEAKER_05: She sniffs out the hind and informs her of her ancient lineage, and she finds out that she's descendant from Brannon, who is roughly fifteen thousand years ago.
- 35:57SPEAKER_05: Uh and so she finds out she's descendant from Brannon, and then Ailen is also roughly fifteen thousand years descendant from Brannon, and they're two separate branches of the same lineage, and then you have Rune and the Hind, our mates who are on both separate branches from the other two main series.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 36:34SPEAKER_05: Uh so it all connects.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: Yes, I'm not saying that that's not true with my theory.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: But okay.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: We just we just have opposing It's not opposing, though.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: It's similar.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: I just have a little bit of a different thought to mine.
- 36:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Um I'm interested though, that would require people from Throne of Glass to have gone through a portal at some point there.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: Do they discuss that in Throne of Glass at any point that that's happened?
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: I don't remember when she talks to Brannon him talking about any of the Faye from his lineage leaving.
- 37:26SPEAKER_05: Like I I I barely remember I know.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: I'm not I'm not.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: If you know, you can also let us know.
- 37:33SPEAKER_05: The only reference in Crescent City to it is when they're in Thea or Celine, whichever.
- 37:44SPEAKER_05: Celine's Thea's daughter, right?
- 37:46SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 37:46SPEAKER_05: Okay, so she when she's monologuing, she says that while they were enjoying their new planet, a group of shifter Fey show up and they're already friendly with Rigilus and that the wolf shifters were especially uh loyal to Rygilis already, and like he didn't surprise them, they kind of already knew what he was.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:25SPEAKER_05: Um, which maybe we'll get information on that in some future through in a glassness.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: We'll have to see about that.
- 38:37SPEAKER_05: Um speaking of Celine, so Celine is she's the daughter who made it through the portal back to Crescent City with the dagger Yes.
- 38:56SPEAKER_05: And the harp?
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: Wait.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Back to Crescent City?
- 39:02SPEAKER_05: No, back to Agatar, sorry.
- 39:03SPEAKER_05: Back to Prythian.
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: Selena's, okay.
- 39:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 39:09SPEAKER_05: I think uh Peleus kills Thea.
- 39:16SPEAKER_05: Because Thea's power gets split amongst all three of them.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 39:22SPEAKER_05: Thaa stays.
- 39:27SPEAKER_05: Uh Selene makes it back through their portal with the harp and dagger.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: You're in the middle of your reread, that's why it's so fresh in your mind.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I don't remember all the stuff.
- 39:40SPEAKER_05: Helena?
- 39:41SPEAKER_05: Helena?
- 39:41SPEAKER_05: Helene?
- 39:42SPEAKER_05: Helene.
- 39:43SPEAKER_05: She's I think she doesn't quite make it through the portal, and her sister kind of abandons her.
- 39:51SPEAKER_05: Um she stays in Crescent City as well.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: No, I guess it is Helena.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 40:03SPEAKER_05: I have to I I'll have to come back to the while we're discussing the uh the way the stories tie in together, I'll let you I'm gonna pitch an idea I was having today.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 40:20SPEAKER_05: So where I'm at in the book, they were just talking about the bone quarter and how they have been harvesting souls as second light.
- 40:36SPEAKER_05: Um then I had the part where they drink the the black salt Bryce and Hunt.
- 40:51SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 40:51SPEAKER_05: And they go talk to three of the princes of hell.
- 40:54SPEAKER_05: And when they get there, they're like, oh yes, this is where our dead dwell.
- 40:59SPEAKER_05: And I couldn't tell if it was like their dead or everybody's dead.
- 41:04SPEAKER_05: Um so it got me thinking, and so then I started thinking about Starfall in Akatar.
- 41:18SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 41:18SPEAKER_05: For those who don't remember, that's where the glowy green star solar souls go floating by once a year on some kind of migration.
- 41:32SPEAKER_05: So it got me thinking that they essentially follow the same path that Ailen did.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: Isn't that when she fell?
- 41:49SPEAKER_05: I don't think so.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: I just she fell through and it was Fayra and Reese on that balcony, which they only go on at Starfall.
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: Meh.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Because they don't usually go to the House of Wind unless it's for Starfall or dealing with Nesta at that point.
- 42:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:12SPEAKER_05: But let's assume it wasn't Starfall.
- 42:14SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 42:15SPEAKER_05: Just for for the sake of my argument here.
- 42:19SPEAKER_05: So in my mind, they're it's potentially all one all the souls from these different worlds migrate to wherever it is they're going at the same time and they're traveling through the same place that they're this wormhole superhighway between all the the worlds.
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:49SPEAKER_05: And that potentially on Starfall is one of the points where everything overlaps extra.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 42:58SPEAKER_05: Um and Reese mentions the last time he was there for Starfall, there's there's less and less souls going by.
- 43:09SPEAKER_05: Which makes me think that that is a result of what the Asteri are doing on in Midgard.
- 43:18SPEAKER_05: And Midgard, yeah.
- 43:20SPEAKER_05: With the bone quarter and them not sending the souls on to where they go.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Because they're eating them.
- 43:28SPEAKER_05: Because they're yeah, because they're eating them.
- 43:31SPEAKER_05: Which makes me wonder if they got the idea of second light from the people of hell or the Vogue or the Princes of Hell.
- 43:43SPEAKER_05: That's my my theory that they're the same.
- 43:46SPEAKER_05: Not that you you don't agree with that, but Okay.
- 43:50SPEAKER_05: Anyways.
- 43:51SPEAKER_05: So I'm wondering if there's that's breadcrumbs leading to Future realization that maybe hell is off is up to no good by consuming all these souls that are heading somewhere.
- 44:13SPEAKER_05: Um and then that also leaves a potential oh shit.
- 44:24SPEAKER_05: The people of Prithian, you know, our heroes in Prithian need to somehow worldwalk somewhere else.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 44:35SPEAKER_05: And, you know, maybe they could piece it all together during Starfall or something, and that's an opportunity to I don't know, migrate or something.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: I see.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 44:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's um what's it called?
- 44:51SPEAKER_05: Uh oh man, what's the stupid storytelling theory where there's a gun on the wall and eventually the gun has to get used.
- 45:03SPEAKER_05: Otherwise, why was it there to begin with?
- 45:08SPEAKER_05: I sound really dumb, but it's a thing, trust me.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: I know what you mean, but I don't know what it's called.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 45:15SPEAKER_05: That's just a little like a foreshadowing?
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: Kind of.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: But it um I don't know.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: This is something I was kicking around today while I was thinking.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: Are you gonna drive me insane with that?
- 45:33SPEAKER_06: Chekhov's gun.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: There.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: That came up as soon as I typed it in, too.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: I've never heard of that, but I understand.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: So if you introduce the detail object or character you draw attention to early in a story must serve a purpose, a real purpose later.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: If you point it out and it never matters, you waste the audience's time or break their expectations.
- 45:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 45:58SPEAKER_05: Which is um So Starfall's important somehow.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: Um, which also makes me I wanna say like I saw a TikTok not a TikTok, a reel on Instagram where a person was like, it's not that deep.
- 46:18SPEAKER_01: It's just a book.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Why do you need to come up with all these theories about what's happening in her books?
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: And it's just it's it's she's not that deep.
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: And like, but it is when she's leaving, like, I I think it's fun for her.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: She's leaving these Easter eggs.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: She knows exactly where she wants the story to go.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: She's been writing it since she was, what, 16?
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: She's 40 now.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: 41.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: I forget.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: She's celebrated, I think it was her 40th birthday she just celebrated during that interview.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Um and that was part of my problem.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: She's doing why she's she's obviously doing it because she enjoys it.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: She's leaving little Easter eggs in each of the stories for us to find, and maybe not for us to find, but then we'll we'll get the new information and be like, oh my gosh, that's why it was they said this in the other book.
- 47:11SPEAKER_05: I've gone back and forth a few times.
- 47:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 47:14SPEAKER_05: Of it's not that deep, and then I start really thinking about it.
- 47:18SPEAKER_05: I'm like, God damn it, there's fucking something there.
- 47:22SPEAKER_05: And, you know, if it's like Chekhov's gun, it's you don't introduce something unless it's important.
- 47:28SPEAKER_05: Otherwise you would have never thought to write it down.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:32SPEAKER_05: Um, which I think is part of my initial problem with Throne of Glass.
- 47:38SPEAKER_05: I went into it thinking it's not that deep, bro.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: But it was the most important series of all.
- 47:47SPEAKER_05: Well, it was very it was very Lord of the Rings coded.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:53SPEAKER_05: Well, to be fair, she was 16.
- 47:55SPEAKER_05: She was young when she wrote that one.
- 47:57SPEAKER_05: The height of Lord of the Rings.
- 47:59SPEAKER_05: Well, the the Peter Jackson movies.
- 48:03SPEAKER_05: Sorry to any old head Lord of the Rings fans out there.
- 48:09SPEAKER_05: Um then while we're talking about theories and stuff, uh one of my I like I like making theories and trying to predict how TV shows or movies.
- 48:25SPEAKER_01: And that's how you ruin stuff for the rest of us when we're watching them with you.
- 48:28SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 48:29SPEAKER_05: Uh part of my methodology is trying to figure out where a story is going to end.
- 48:41SPEAKER_05: Or an episode or a movie or whatever.
- 48:46SPEAKER_05: And you know, that's point C, where at point A, point B is gonna be the path of least resistance to get to C which makes it easier or more able to accurately predict where you what you think's gonna happen next.
- 49:09SPEAKER_05: So, after all that, where do you see these series in a finished state?
- 49:19SPEAKER_05: Like she's she's written her last book and she she sets her pen down and she's like, I'm done.
- 49:28SPEAKER_05: What is what does the landscape look like to you?
- 49:33SPEAKER_06: Um I'm pretty curious to what your answer is.
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: They done fucked up when they threw away the word keys and closed all the gates.
- 49:50SPEAKER_05: And they threw the breath uh the book of breathings.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: Uh and that uh the book of breathings is in Crescent City.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: So there's a huge thing okay.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: Also, my theory, these are my theories that I've had, especially with uh right now reading uh Accord of Silver Flames, that Merrill is Jezeba from Crescent City.
- 50:17SPEAKER_05: And we get Jezeba's backstory in Crescent City though.
- 50:21SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 50:22SPEAKER_05: I'm not I see what you're saying.
- 50:24SPEAKER_05: Go ahead.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: So in in Accord of Silver Flames, uh Merrill the priestess who's doing all the writing, she is hold on, I wrote it in my notes while I was looking through this.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: Jezeba er not Jezeba.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: Meryl is the description is she's uh the wind whispers to her the goings-on of the world, and like it goes on she has like white blonde hair and basically looks like Jezeba, and she has all these books and is writing all the knowledge.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: So either she's Jezeba or maybe she's related to Jezeba in some way.
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: They both like to collect books and knowledge of the worlds.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: Because Jezeba has all the ancient novels and protects them, right?
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: You're gonna read more about that in House of Flame and Shadow.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I already got there.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, you already got there.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:29SPEAKER_01: Where they go to that weird empty um temple, like torn-down temple area that they have all the library books.
- 51:39SPEAKER_05: And I'm pretty sure Library of Parthos.
- 51:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what it is.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: Um one of the books is either The Walking Dead or the Book of Breathings.
- 51:51SPEAKER_01: Books of Book of Breathings, whatever it's called.
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Or both.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: We're in the first Crescent City, there was I'm pretty sure it was the Walking Dead they talked about in Jezeba's library.
- 52:05SPEAKER_01: Um what the heck was I talking about this for?
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: They're going to have to leave like closing gates is never a good idea.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: Even if it they they're trying to lock out the the bad, but then have no way to fight the bad when it comes back every single time.
- 52:32SPEAKER_05: Oof, okay.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: You think they're not gonna open all the gates and leave all the worlds be to be open to each other?
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: So you see connected.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: Well, originally Aaron said that there were rips in the world that were open and then they just fucking shut and she got stuck in Avatar.
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: And uh Ailen closed well, it got closed at one point before that, but then she fully closed it using the word key.
- 53:04SPEAKER_01: I think they should be open, yeah.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: What about um Do I think that they will overthrow the stereaglin vlog?
- 53:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: That's that's how a book ends.
- 53:25SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 53:26SPEAKER_05: You think she's gonna let the book end with But I see I see a different a different uh endgame.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 53:39SPEAKER_05: So outside of the pairings off of the surviving characters, because uh it's a romantic that's gonna happen.
- 53:51SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: Um sorry, I m maybe I misunderstood your question.
- 53:57SPEAKER_05: So I I actually kind of see it as the exact opposite of They're all gonna be destroyed?
- 54:04SPEAKER_05: Well, so at the end of Throwing a Glass, Ailen essentially kicks them out to where they die and locks it.
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: The gods.
- 54:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 54:22SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 54:24SPEAKER_05: Um So I feel like once everybody bands together and and kills the Princes of Hell after they're done killing the Asteria.
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 54:44SPEAKER_05: Um they're all going to come to the conclusion that all this world hopping was was all their shit to begin with, too.
- 55:01SPEAKER_05: And that I know this doesn't sound right, but I feel like the a it's gonna end with them agreeing to just be isolated from each other.
- 55:20SPEAKER_05: Almost to the point where where Fayra and Ailen and Bryce will agree that humanity itself is better off without any of them.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 55:39SPEAKER_05: And that, like, maybe the the shifter fe goes back to Aurelia the the elemental fee go back to Prithian, and the humans of both of those worlds go to Midgard.
- 56:06SPEAKER_05: To Midgard.
- 56:07SPEAKER_05: Because that's where they've thrived in their own way.
- 56:11SPEAKER_05: Like they came up with all the technology, and then Rigilus contaminated it with magic in order to do his stuff.
- 56:22SPEAKER_05: Because like that's how the that's how Akatar starts.
- 56:27SPEAKER_05: As we hear about this old war, and the best thing they could come up with was a wall to protect the humans from the Fe.
- 56:37SPEAKER_05: That was the best they could do at the time.
- 56:41SPEAKER_05: So I feel like it'll end with a, you know, parting of the ways, so to say.
- 56:48SPEAKER_05: Kind of like Lord of the Rings did.
- 56:51SPEAKER_05: It was sad, but you know, Aragorn stayed in Gondor, Frodo crossed the ocean, Sam stayed in the Shire, Legolus and Gimli went off and did their own thing.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: And what happened 15,000 years after that?
- 57:09SPEAKER_05: Uh magic died in the world and humans reigned.
- 57:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and look where we are now.
- 57:15SPEAKER_05: That's what I'm saying.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: Like that a new villain comes about and it's it's an it's a never-ending.
- 57:25SPEAKER_06: Well, I guess that uh wraps us up for this week.
- 57:31SPEAKER_06: Nope.

- 58:02SPEAKER_01: A court of Chapters and Chatter.
- 58:03SPEAKER_01: Sorry, that's our Instagram.
- 58:05SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, I feel like a court of chaptersandchatter.com would have been a really long email address.
- 58:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
