- 0:05I' m currently with the National Guard. What I' m going to
- 0:09tell you is not related to the military sphere. This experience happened to me
- 0:14on a vacation I took with my wife and children. We' re traveling
- 0:19to Colombia. We went to a beautiful place, a cabin. Best of
- 0:22all was the river that passed by. The waters of the river were lukewarm.
- 0:28The area was quiet. Only a few birds were heard at dusk I
- 0:34went out with my eldest son, to look for some branches or whatever,
- 0:38to make a bonfire. The cabin had a microwave, but we wanted to
- 0:43hang out. In the cool. We walked along the river bank as we
- 0:48raised dry branches. We were talking, we appreciated the landscape. Suddenly we
- 0:54heard something creaked and crawled. We both stood still. We suspect it was
- 0:59an animal and it had to be a pretty big one, for within a
- 1:03few seconds a grunt was heard as if it were a cat. We could
- 1:08hear him inhaling and exhaling. His breathing sounded pretty heavy just like an angry
- 1:15animal had to be close by. But then on the other side of the
- 1:19river between the trees, I could see that a large face with prominent white
- 1:25eyes appeared. He was looking right at us. That thing was far away,
- 1:30which meant there were at least two of those creatures, the one we
- 1:34were seeing and the other we were hearing, the white- eyed beast.
- 1:40He moved forward a little, coming out of the trees and being exposed.
- 1:45He walked on all fours. His body was deformed and elongated. I don
- 1:49' t know why. But the air began to feel heavy at such a
- 1:55point that we began to feel that we were going to suffocate. But even
- 2:00if we didn' t move a muscle, no doubt, we didn'
- 2:04t want to piss those monsters off. What worried me most was that the
- 2:07heavy, agitated breathing seemed to be a few meters away from us and the
- 2:13white- eyed thing was already on the riverbank. Then, on top of
- 2:17one of the trees, I could see the face of the thing that we
- 2:22had been listening to. Breathing was like a pale- skinned dog with no
- 2:27hair on his head. Maybe it was because of the little lighting, but
- 2:31I thought I saw him smile. I was completely hypnotized seeing his bright white
- 2:38eyes. They looked like two spotlights. Then slowly he got lost between the
- 2:43branches and walked away. I had been so immersed in that look that I
- 2:47didn' t even know when my son left. There was no noise,
- 2:52I didn' t hear him run and I didn' t hear him take
- 2:54him either. No son had simply disappeared in an instant. I turned to
- 3:00the river and the other beast wasn' t there either. I called him
- 3:05by his name repeatedly I shouted, but there was no answer. I started
- 3:10walking in a hurry around the area. I looked for footprints on the ground,
- 3:15some mark, anything, until inside the river I saw a bracelet floating
- 3:20that I had given to my son, I ran and took it. The
- 3:25river was a little deep, not too deep, but you couldn' t
- 3:30walk through the stream. He was a little strong. I remember thinking that
- 3:35maybe when I got distracted, my son had gotten too close to the shore
- 3:38and slipped. It was the best idea I had. At the time.
- 3:44I got scared and panicked thinking my son might drown. I started going in
- 3:49the same direction as the river current. While I was talking to him and
- 3:53trying to see if I happened to see him under the water or whatever,
- 3:58I pulled out my cell phone and called one- twenty- three, which
- 4:01is the emergency number in Colombia. I asked for help, explained what was
- 4:05going on and then continued to look for my son across the river. I
- 4:10saw one of your tennis. I didn' t start thinking about how everything
- 4:14that was going on was possible I didn' t care. All I wanted
- 4:17was to find my son. I swam across losing my cell phone instantly.
- 4:24There were footprints very separate from each other nearby. Too much I' d
- 4:30say I followed her. They got into the jungle, maybe 200 meters,
- 4:33no more. There was the entrance to a cave on the skirts of a
- 4:39rocky elevation. It was night. My only illumination was the moon. I
- 4:45couldn' t use the flashlight on my cell phone because I lost it in
- 4:48the river. I definitely couldn' t get into that cave. It would
- 4:53be useless action. I cursed hard. Then, from the inside of the
- 4:58cave came a cry full of pain. The first thing I thought was that
- 5:02it was my son, so I went into the cave. I went into
- 5:06everything that I could have done that wasn' t much, because three minutes
- 5:10after I got in, I didn' t see anything. I couldn'
- 5:15t keep moving. I had to go back to the cabin for something to
- 5:18light up. I cursed again. I got out of the cave and started
- 5:23running with all my might. When I was back in the cabin, I
- 5:28had to tell my wife what was going on. I asked him for his
- 5:31cell phone so I could use the flashlight. I told him the help would
- 5:34come any minute and explained how to get to the cave so he could tell
- 5:40people and reach me there. With cell phone in hand, I ran back.
- 5:46I got to the river, rushed along the shore to reach where I
- 5:49had crossed. I swam across and ran two hundred meters to the rocky elevation.
- 5:57I turned on the cell phone flashlight and walked slowly and cautiously, went
- 6:01into the cave. So many years of training had served me. I didn
- 6:06' t feel tired. Despite having run about two kilometers in ten minutes.
- 6:12The cave was wet and cold. There was a lot of silence in there
- 6:16It felt like time was running slower. I wouldn' t know exactly how
- 6:21to explain it. It was too strange a feeling, something I had never
- 6:26felt anywhere else. I advanced and advanced and the cave seemed never to have
- 6:31an end. It was like for every meter that I advanced, the cave
- 6:35became two meters larger. I fell down on my knees and shouted my son
- 6:41' s name. No one answered me, but in the distance I managed
- 6:46to distinguish several bright white lights immediately I knew what it was about. Those
- 6:50lights were the same as I had seen the two grotesque creatures we had met.
- 6:57My son and I, so if that cave was where the monsters lived,
- 7:02then my son should be there. I had a hunch that told me.
- 7:09I wanted to get a little closer, but within a few feet the
- 7:13beasts started grunting at me. They did it quietly. I felt it more
- 7:16like a warning than a threat. Oh, very much to my regret.
- 7:21I came to account for one thing. The reality was that I couldn'
- 7:26t do anything to save my son. To begin with, I didn'
- 7:30t have a gun, and those beasts outnumbered me The simple fact of trying
- 7:35something would have been to dig my own grave. It' s not that
- 7:39I was selfish or that I didn' t care about my son. I
- 7:42just couldn' t help him. It wasn' t in my hands at
- 7:46the time. I had to wait for him to get help, and we
- 7:49all might have a chance. Then I resigned I turned around and walked back.
- 7:58As soon as I got out of the cave, I started to think
- 8:01about whether I should wait there for help or whether I should go to the
- 8:05camp to find them on the way and take them to the cave. That
- 8:09would be faster. So that' s what I did. I ran back
- 8:13to the cabin. I was already feeling exhausted. Some people had already arrived.
- 8:20I went straight with them and begged them to follow me a couple of
- 8:24them brought guns with sedatives. My wife gave me a look of anguish.
- 8:28I had to bring our son safe and sound. As we ran into the
- 8:33cave, I told them. Everything. They told me that it was possibly
- 8:39some unknown species, as the area where we were connected to the Amazon River
- 8:43jungle. But, against all logic, when we arrived there was no cave.
- 8:50I wasn' t wrong. The rocky elevation was the same. Everyone
- 8:56looked at me confused. I went crazy looking at the perimeter and we didn
- 9:01' t find anything. We searched the surrounding area for a total area of
- 9:07more than eight square kilometers. It takes hours. There was neither a sign
- 9:11of the cave nor of my son I was shattered. I didn' t
- 9:18know what happened. We went back to the cabin. It was very painful
- 9:22to explain to my wife that she had lost our son. It was very
- 9:26hard. The Colombian government behaved wonderfully. They sent crews to search. I
- 9:31kept looking all the time too. We never found him, alive or dead.
- 9:39There came a person who knew that area like the palm of his hand.
- 9:43He understood the land perfectly and when I told him about the cave,
- 9:46he assured me that there was no cave. In more than 50 square kilometers
- 9:52I lost my son in Colombia. Strange white- eyed creatures snatched it from
- 9:56me. I' ve always been skeptical about ghost appearances on the roads and,
- 10:09in general, about paranormal things. Working in the military makes you very
- 10:16frivolous. You stop thinking about those things. You get the idea in your
- 10:20head that the dangerous are the living, not the dead. A ghost wandering
- 10:24around can' t shoot you in the head. That' s what I
- 10:31always told my classmates when they started talking about that kind of thing. But
- 10:37one night, while we were moving out of town, in the middle of
- 10:41nowhere, something happened on the road that I haven' t been able to
- 10:46get out of my head in all these years. In essence, it was
- 10:48a night, like any other, simple road and darkness, but there was
- 10:54something in it that kept me restless while holding my gun. Maybe it was
- 10:58the fact that I hadn' t seen virtually any other vehicle in a while.
- 11:03In addition, I had the constant feeling that the night was darker.
- 11:07I was nervous, restless, and I think others were trying to hide it.
- 11:15Not me. I felt the discomfort. I don' t know why.
- 11:18One of them asked me if I was okay. I remember we were
- 11:22on the ninety- fiveth road that connects Mexico to Cuernavaca. When we were
- 11:28up to the Morelos Monument, I saw a woman dressed in red on the
- 11:33side of the road, all the vehicles slowed down when they passed by her
- 11:39and asked her if she needed to be taken. It was like two o
- 11:43' clock in the morning and walking there alone. It was really dangerous that
- 11:48woman had the whitest skin I' d ever seen in my life. It
- 11:54looked like he gave her hypothermia. He refused to climb, but at least
- 11:58stopped his walk. He didn' t turn to see us. In fact,
- 12:01to that point she had not seen her face even once after the woman
- 12:07began to murmur something, she did it with a very low voice and could
- 12:11not hear anything. He was once again urged to get on one of the
- 12:16vehicles, but refused. So we went our way and left it behind,
- 12:22walking alone along the road in the middle of the morning. Before you lose
- 12:28sight of her, turn to see her. That woman was looking very ugly
- 12:31at us We continued to advance for about three kilometers. I believe when we
- 12:39saw the same woman again doing exactly the same thing, I mean, walking
- 12:43along the side of the road. The drivers stopped the vehicles. That was
- 12:50not possible. It had to be a mix- up. They threw the
- 12:54flashlight at her and she was the same woman we had left behind. A
- 12:58while ago. The vehicles passed by her fast. I didn' t encourage
- 13:03myself to see the woman the truth if I was afraid. The feeling I
- 13:07had on that road was of an exaggeratedly large loneliness, with a blackness too
- 13:13dark and a feeling of total distrust. We went a few miles until out
- 13:20of nowhere all the vehicles started to fail. The engine started making noise.
- 13:24Like when you put a car in the water. We all went down after
- 13:31we got shored, secured the perimeter in about 30 seconds. It was the
- 13:35first time, at least for me, that the vehicles were failing. The
- 13:39weird thing is it was the three of us, and of the same thing,
- 13:43someone thought to say that that was too much chance, that maybe someone
- 13:48had set us up and that they were going to ambush us. Considering that
- 13:54possibility made us very nervous. Vehicles were ordered to be inspected and repaired.
- 13:58What' s good is that some of those who were going knew about the
- 14:03subject in the distance came out with some lights. It was a vehicle,
- 14:07we gave him directions to slow down, but the driver didn' t listen.
- 14:13He was approaching speeding. We were about four hundred meters from a curve.
- 14:20If that vehicle didn' t slow down. He' s probably gonna
- 14:24end up in an accident. Someone shot in the air as a last attempt
- 14:30to warn the car, but it didn' t work. He passed us
- 14:35at full speed and just before he reached the corner, the car disappeared.
- 14:41We all turned around to see ourselves confused A couple of us went to check
- 14:46the curve. No vehicle was seen anywhere. We' re back with the
- 14:50rest. I don' t remember who, but someone made a pretty wise
- 14:56comment. At no time did we hear that vehicle make any noise. The
- 15:01toast said he was sure to be a ghost and he knows the area well.
- 15:05He told us that a lot of people died on that road every year
- 15:09and that among the capitals it was normal to hear stories about ghosts on that
- 15:15road. He told us that, in fact, the woman we had run
- 15:18into before was sure to be a ghost, also that it was possibly the
- 15:24bride. That woman was supposed to have been killed by her partner. While
- 15:28they were arguing on the road, the guy went crazy and stabbed her.
- 15:33That sounded pretty ugly. Then the toast got very serious and said it wasn
- 15:39' t good to be stranded there on the road, that bad things could
- 15:43happen to us. The captain told him to start helping to repair the vehicles
- 15:46so we could get out of here. That' s why I stopped making
- 15:52the atmosphere more tense. I took out my pack and started smoking. I
- 15:56had started to cool the weather when I was finishing my second cigarette. I
- 16:03was watching over the other side of the road and thought I saw something moving,
- 16:07something small, less than a meter and a half right away, I
- 16:14took the flashlight and threw the light towards the place. Apart from the rocks,
- 16:18there were only two wooden crosses. They asked me that I was lighting
- 16:22up and I already told them the toast listened and without stopping working on repairing
- 16:27the vehicles, said aloud that those crosses were of two children who had died
- 16:32in a crash several years ago. We didn' t have time to keep
- 16:37talking about it, as at the time another pair of lights came out of
- 16:41the horizon. To be honest, we were already nervous to stop him and
- 16:47end up being another self- ghost. But anyway, we ordered him to
- 16:52stop He did. He was a man with a wife and a daughter.
- 16:56We made them think we were making a stop. We weren' t gonna
- 17:00tell them we were standing. There. The gentleman who was driving, kindly
- 17:04accepted the review, showed his documents, everything was in order. The civilian
- 17:12was told that he could leave the engine of his car was turned on and
- 17:18before he left he said that we should be careful, that he was passing
- 17:22by every day and that, for some reason, that night was darker than
- 17:26the moon, and that it was not cloudy. He advised us to be
- 17:32very careful and if possible to leave the place before three in the morning.
- 17:37Within a few minutes a few drops of water began to fall and some haze
- 17:41also formed. I figured I' d hear an animal. In fact,
- 17:45several heard it, but no one saw anything. Maybe it was just the
- 17:51wind that was blowing in a peculiar way, who knows. Finally, the
- 17:56vehicles returned to operation. We all went back to her and started moving forward.
- 18:02We crossed the curve that was four hundred meters away and after advancing a
- 18:07couple of kilometers, the vehicles kind of wanted to fail again, but the
- 18:11good thing was that they didn' t shut down. Just the headlights started
- 18:14blinking. We had to slow down to avoid an accident. As I said,
- 18:21I was sparking and there was a bit of fog. Then the vehicles
- 18:26stopped. Something had crossed them. I looked up to be the same pale
- 18:32woman standing in the middle of the road was looking in our direction. She
- 18:36didn' t look like a normal woman anymore. His posture was weird.
- 18:41He was walking towards us in a very rugged way, as if his legs
- 18:45did not want to move. My skin got stiffer, as that woman got
- 18:51closer to me, a creepy sensation took hold of me, and I can
- 18:56claim that my companions were also afraid. They could see it in their expressions.
- 19:00The driver of the vehicle that was going forward pulls out his hand and
- 19:06makes the signal that we are going to move forward without stopping. The captain
- 19:10was in that vehicle. I guess he was scared too. The vehicles started
- 19:15everything he gives and passed over the woman. No punch was heard, just
- 19:22a loud scream. While we were away we could still see the woman standing
- 19:27in the middle of the road. We no longer had any doubt that it
- 19:30was a ghost, for if it had been a woman, it would have
- 19:36died. When the three vehicles passed over him. Several weeks later I was
- 19:42talking to a friend who' s a trailer driver. He told me that
- 19:45strange things had also happened to him when he traveled by road, especially at
- 19:49night. Just one last thing. If you are going to drive, be
