Butter Wouldn't Melt - Nettle Song
Folk mainstays Butter Wouldn’t Melt make a triumphant return with haunting ode to the fragility of life, ‘Nettle Song’.
Butter Wouldn’t Melt is a folk group based in Wellington, made up of Andrea Reid (vocals and rhythm guitar; Nick Burfield (vocals and lead guitar); Cara Brasted (fiddle and vocals); Michael Muggeridge (mandolin and vocals) and Margaret Connelly (double bass).
An ode to the fragility of life, ‘Nettle Song’ was inspired by the hidden dangers of Aotearoa’s bush - specifically the deadly native nettle Urtica Ferox, which has been linked to the cold case deaths of hikers.
