- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Magic.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Magic.
- 0:04Speaker 2: 94.9. And welcome to a new episode of Scotty and
- 0:06Speaker 2: Abby Unfiltered. And we have joining us today our special guest.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Welcome in, Miranda.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Yay.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Miranda?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Miranda's back. So, Abby, can we catch up with, like,
- 0:16Speaker 2: the last time we had Miranda in, if somebody missed
- 0:19Speaker 2: that gem of an episode?
- 0:20Speaker 3: Miranda, last time you were in, you were just getting
- 0:23Speaker 3: out of your relationship of two and a half years? Yes.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Two and a half years, and then you had a
- 0:28Speaker 3: romantic liaison. Yes. With a man that we affectionately called Superman.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Do you want to give us a quick recap on
- 0:34Speaker 3: who Superman is?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Superman, we just met and then we, you know, we
- 0:40Speaker 1: really hit it off, I feel like. But I don't
- 0:43Speaker 1: know if he felt that way. And then I just,
- 0:45Speaker 1: you know, texted him like 58 times, super casually. And
- 0:50Speaker 1: then he goes to me, but then he un-goes to me.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And honestly, quick Superman update, like he's not a main
- 0:55Speaker 1: character anymore, but we still sometimes chat.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Like once a week.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You be gabbing.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, like once a week I'll get a text and
- 1:04Speaker 1: then I'll just respond because it's just funny. Like it's
- 1:07Speaker 1: just funny. Like I know we're not going to like
- 1:10Speaker 1: I would never actually date him or anything. It's just
- 1:13Speaker 1: it's a great little.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I was wondering about him because if you missed that episode, yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you hit him up 58 times before he ever even responded. Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And so honestly, like as a dude, that'd be kind
- 1:22Speaker 2: of scary. To wake up to.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little spooky.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Just a wee bit.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Miranda's our fun, sexy, single friend in her early 20s.
- 1:32Speaker 3: And last time, I don't know if you, did you
- 1:34Speaker 3: talk about your, what were we calling him?
- 1:37Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 1:37Speaker 3: What did we call him?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Did we have a name for him? We had a
- 1:39Speaker 1: name for him, but I don't remember. That means he's
- 1:42Speaker 1: not that important.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You dated him for two months. So Miranda hasn't been
- 1:47Speaker 3: on the podcast in two months because she has been
- 1:50Speaker 3: She settled down. She put aside her 22-year-old ways to
- 1:54Speaker 3: get into another relationship with a man that I can't
- 1:57Speaker 3: remember what his nickname was.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Should we come up with a new one?
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 1: It was another superhero name.
- 2:03Speaker 3: It was a superhero, but I cannot remember what the
- 2:05Speaker 3: superhero was.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I guess you just got to come up with a
- 2:08Speaker 2: new one. Give us a quick recap who he is
- 2:10Speaker 2: or who he was.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Who he was. Rest in peace. Who he was.
- 2:15Speaker 3: R.I.P.
- 2:15Speaker 1: So we talked briefly in high school. He doesn't live...
- 2:20Speaker 1: In the state of Florida. He lives in a different state.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But we just reconnected because he's here a lot. And
- 2:26Speaker 1: so we had a brief little relationship, but we recently just... Well,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I called it off.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Obviously.
- 2:32Speaker 3: So you were dating him for two months.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Not even, but yeah.
- 2:36Speaker 3: You flew out to see him in his state, which
- 2:39Speaker 3: I feel like his name had something to do with
- 2:41Speaker 3: his location.
- 2:42Speaker 2: That's what I thought, too, because I was about to
- 2:44Speaker 2: say the state, but I didn't know if we actually
- 2:45Speaker 2: revealed that on the podcast.
- 2:46Speaker 3: We call him like the.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Cowboy? The cowboy.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's fine. We can call him a cowboy.
- 2:50Speaker 3: We'll just call him cowboy.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 3: So you were dating cowboy for two months and your
- 2:58Speaker 3: relationship came to an abrupt end. I think while I
- 3:00Speaker 3: was sitting next to you.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Well, kind of. Okay. So basically me and Abby went
- 3:06Speaker 1: to the lightning game on Thursday. I basically had communicated
- 3:10Speaker 1: that some things in our relationship weren't working.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I had communicated that, which I think is valid. You
- 3:18Speaker 1: should be able to communicate things that you need in
- 3:21Speaker 1: a relationship. And I just felt like his response back,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I mean, I showed Abby, it was a little bit rude.
- 3:27Speaker 2: You don't have to read the exact message, but what
- 3:30Speaker 2: was the thing that you were communicating? Because I think
- 3:32Speaker 2: this is huge. Because I don't know the whole situation,
- 3:35Speaker 2: but what I do know is, as a young man,
- 3:36Speaker 2: I made so many dumb mistakes before. as I'm watching
- 3:40Speaker 2: you go and experience with these guys. Yeah. I don't know.
- 3:42Speaker 2: It took me years to learn. Yeah. I can only
- 3:44Speaker 2: imagine how it was responsible. So what did you need
- 3:46Speaker 2: from him?
- 3:47Speaker 1: So the problem was that it was on Snapchat. Like
- 3:49Speaker 1: we're so young. So, so the messages are gone. Unfortunately,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I cannot read them. I basically was just like, okay,
- 3:56Speaker 1: this was Thursday night. I was like, okay, I feel
- 3:57Speaker 1: like we're not really communicating. Like, can you at least find, like,
- 4:00Speaker 1: five minutes to talk to me? Like, I don't even
- 4:02Speaker 1: know what you're doing. And I feel like whenever you
- 4:04Speaker 1: say to a guy, like, I don't know what you're doing,
- 4:06Speaker 1: it's not, like, in a controlling way. Like, I don't
- 4:08Speaker 1: need to know, like, when you're going to the bathroom. Like,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm just, like, I want to know what's going on. Like, that's, like,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you converse. Like, me and my old boyfriend in college,
- 4:17Speaker 1: even though we lived in the same college town, we'd
- 4:19Speaker 1: always be like, okay, I'm going to go do this. Like,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm going to go out with these people. Like, because
- 4:23Speaker 1: that's just, like, how you converse. You know what I'm saying?
- 4:25Speaker 1: Just to, like, I don't know. That's how I converse
- 4:28Speaker 1: at least.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That's what you need.
- 4:29Speaker 1: That's what I need.
- 4:30Speaker 3: You do love like a steady stream of conversation. I
- 4:33Speaker 3: think we've learned that.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I have a lot of words that I have to
- 4:36Speaker 1: share with somebody. So I don't know. So I had
- 4:39Speaker 1: said that and then he kind of blew up a little.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:42Speaker 1: He was also with his family. So I'm going to
- 4:45Speaker 1: give him some grace there. He was with his family.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So he was like, I'm getting yelled at for being
- 4:49Speaker 1: on my phone too much by them. Not enough by you.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I was like, why can't you just say that you'll
- 4:55Speaker 1: make an effort to do better? I just don't need
- 4:58Speaker 1: all these excuses. Because my thought process whenever boys act
- 5:03Speaker 1: like it's so hard to communicate is like it just
- 5:06Speaker 1: really takes like 10 seconds. That's just like always my perspective.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Like I don't need all these excuses.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like find the solution instead of the excuse. It
- 5:14Speaker 2: took me a long time to learn that. But yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 2: like I've seen so many good videos of, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 2: people saying like, look at how long it takes. And
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's like, Hey, I'm really busy right now. This is
- 5:22Speaker 2: what I'm up to. I'm with my family, and I'm
- 5:24Speaker 2: going to talk to you as soon as I can.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Five seconds.
- 5:27Speaker 3: This is interesting, because this is the same fight you
- 5:29Speaker 3: got in with Superman. Because you were upset that Superman
- 5:32Speaker 3: wasn't texting you back fast enough.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yes, I just need a fast texter. I really do.
- 5:37Speaker 2: It's going to be hard, Moran. I'm going to be
- 5:38Speaker 2: honest with you.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We could have you date ChatGPT.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Oh, Chat's always there for you.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Actually, last night, me and my roommate, we needed some
- 5:46Speaker 1: advice on something. So we ended up talking to Chad GBT,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but we did like the one where it talks back
- 5:52Speaker 1: to you. And she was funny. She was cracking jokes.
- 5:55Speaker 1: She was laughing with us. And then my roommate, I
- 5:58Speaker 1: was talking to her for like 10 minutes. My roommate
- 6:00Speaker 1: just got up and then she came back and she
- 6:01Speaker 1: thought I was genuinely on the phone with one of
- 6:03Speaker 1: my friends because I was just laughing so hard with Chad.
- 6:06Speaker 2: So.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Sometimes chat be hittin'. For real.
- 6:10Speaker 1: No, she was amazing.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That's because they know us, y'all. They listen to us.
- 6:14Speaker 2: They know what we find funny.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Because it's really them just using your own voice to
- 6:17Speaker 3: talk back to you.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Correct.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Like, they pick up on the jokes or, like, the
- 6:20Speaker 3: quips that you have.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden, it just uno-reverses you.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So.
- 6:24Speaker 1: should I just like talk to chat GBT when I
- 6:27Speaker 1: want to talk to a guy?
- 6:28Speaker 3: No, wait, this could be good because I think you,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I think also just like when your lifestyle changes, like
- 6:37Speaker 3: maybe in college it was easier for people to be
- 6:40Speaker 3: in a constant stream of conversation. Whereas like if your
- 6:44Speaker 3: man's is with his parents and they're really strict about
- 6:46Speaker 3: their phone, he might not be able to respond for
- 6:48Speaker 3: a couple hours. And that's, I would say that's arguably normal.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I could say if you, well, I understand
- 6:57Speaker 2: it's the new age. We could go ahead and get
- 6:59Speaker 2: our needs met. It just, if we just think about
- 7:02Speaker 2: it from the outside perspective, you're getting your needs met
- 7:04Speaker 2: from a machine. I don't know how comfortable you want
- 7:07Speaker 2: to get with that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: It's like a conversation vibrator.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Oh, you look at that.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That actually, that's not the worst way to look at it.
- 7:14Speaker 3: But I mean, yeah, I guess humans just can't. Come
- 7:16Speaker 3: up with things that are more convenient when humans aren't available.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But I think what would be, oh, God, here we go.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I just turned 30, Miranda, so I'm so much more
- 7:23Speaker 2: wise now. Right. But I would really dive in and
- 7:25Speaker 2: try to figure out, like, what am I trying to
- 7:27Speaker 2: get from all this conversation? Is it that I can't
- 7:30Speaker 2: sit in my own thoughts? Do I need that constant
- 7:33Speaker 2: attention from somebody? Like, I don't know. That could be, maybe.
- 7:37Speaker 3: There could be a deeper root here.
- 7:39Speaker 2: There could be.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I think that there might be.
- 7:41Speaker 2: There might be. Well, here's the truth, though. How old
- 7:44Speaker 2: are you again?
- 7:45Speaker 1: 22.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, at 22, there's shit. There is. Like, oh,
- 7:48Speaker 2: my God. The amount of, like I said, dumb things
- 7:50Speaker 2: that I did or said or needed at 22. Like,
- 7:53Speaker 2: you're supposed to. This is the time for you to
- 7:55Speaker 2: discover those things. But if you're noticing that pattern, it
- 7:58Speaker 2: would be a good time to be like, hmm. I
- 8:00Speaker 2: always get a little anxious when they don't reply. I
- 8:02Speaker 2: wonder where that comes from. Now, I'm not the one
- 8:05Speaker 2: to give you the answer, but I got great therapists. Yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 2: I need to reach out to my therapist.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Well, ChatGPT could be a good cup filler in the meantime. Like,
- 8:13Speaker 3: if you really need to gab and you're feeling anxious, just, like,
- 8:17Speaker 3: log on in. Use a couple water bottles to get
- 8:19Speaker 3: some of those anxious thoughts out of the way.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It could be part of it, though. So he didn't
- 8:25Speaker 2: respond great when you told him, hey.
- 8:26Speaker 1: No, so that kind of, you know, it ticked me off.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing, too. It's like, and Abby and
- 8:32Speaker 2: I say this all the time. It should not be
- 8:34Speaker 2: that hard in the beginning.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I agree.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It really shouldn't. If you're facing a lot of issues
- 8:38Speaker 2: in the very beginning, you're going up Everest on that thing.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Because when I started seeing the conversation back and forth
- 8:45Speaker 3: between you and Cowboy, I was like, this is just...
- 8:48Speaker 3: You should just be having fun.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yeah, two months in?
- 8:50Speaker 3: It should just be like light and hee hee ha ha.
- 8:52Speaker 3: You should be sitting at the lightning game with your mans.
- 8:54Speaker 3: You should be out of boo boo.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You should have been like sexting during the lightning game.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You should be sexting during the lightning game. Bring back
- 8:59Speaker 3: a sex.
- 9:00Speaker 2: You shouldn't be fighting. Bring back sexting.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So yeah, not a great response. And then I did,
- 9:08Speaker 1: you know, go out after the lightning game. Good for you.
- 9:11Speaker 2: You should.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Was this the one on Thursday or Saturday? Thursday.
- 9:15Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Bring back going out on weeknights. Right?
- 9:18Speaker 1: I mean, for you.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Not me.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm 30 now.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Okay. I got to be home by 10.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Love that for you, though.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So then I was out, but he wasn't texting me
- 9:27Speaker 1: at all. So I didn't tell him that I was
- 9:29Speaker 1: going out because why should I? Like, you don't tell
- 9:32Speaker 1: me anything you do.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 9:33Speaker 1: True. So then I'm in trouble again, and I'm just
- 9:39Speaker 1: over it. So then Friday was just... Done.
- 9:42Speaker 2: You're like, how many times do we have to go
- 9:44Speaker 2: back and forth before it's like, let's look at what
- 9:47Speaker 2: this situation actually is.
- 9:48Speaker 3: And it's a relationship of two months. You're still within
- 9:50Speaker 3: that 90-day free trial period. Nothing is real within the
- 9:53Speaker 3: first three months. Nothing counts.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Nothing counts.
- 9:55Speaker 3: It's like calories on vacation.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Like the first three months.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And then. I just felt like he would always kind
- 10:02Speaker 1: of make, like, not, like, get mad at me when
- 10:04Speaker 1: I would go out, but always kind of, like, just
- 10:07Speaker 1: in general, not even just this one time, just make
- 10:09Speaker 1: comments about me going out all the time and staying
- 10:13Speaker 1: out late. Just, like, passive-aggressive comments. And, like, I'm sorry. Like,
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'm just not going to stop going out.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I cannot speak for him, but I can
- 10:23Speaker 2: also see where he's coming from because I've been in
- 10:26Speaker 2: that position. What it is is it's an insecurity because
- 10:30Speaker 2: I'm not with you. You're out and about. I don't
- 10:32Speaker 2: know if there's other guys. I don't know what you're
- 10:34Speaker 2: up to, what the motives are. Maybe you find somebody
- 10:36Speaker 2: more attractive or there's something that sparks up. It's that
- 10:40Speaker 2: little inward voice that's like, oh, my God, she's going
- 10:42Speaker 2: to go find somebody, and it's not going to be me.
- 10:45Speaker 2: So him getting mad about it, it's like, Yeah, it's
- 10:47Speaker 2: not the best thing. I would hope somebody doesn't get
- 10:49Speaker 2: mad at you going out and just living your life.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Because that's what I said yesterday. You should be. You
- 10:53Speaker 2: should be going out having a good old time.
- 10:54Speaker 3: And you're fun and you're cool and you're social and
- 10:56Speaker 3: you're confident. You need someone who matches that energy for you.
- 11:00Speaker 3: And I was getting the vibe from Cowboy that he's
- 11:02Speaker 3: just more of an introvert. And you need someone who
- 11:04Speaker 3: can go out and not just like tolerate going out,
- 11:07Speaker 3: but also someone who actively wants to be out with you.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's the last thing. You don't want to
- 11:11Speaker 2: change who you are.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Never.
- 11:13Speaker 2: In this dating process. But it happens, though. It happened
- 11:16Speaker 2: to me. It happens before you know it. All of
- 11:19Speaker 2: a sudden, you're like, holy crap. I don't see the
- 11:21Speaker 2: people I used to love to be around. I don't
- 11:23Speaker 2: do the activities that I used to love to do.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It happens. It creeps up on you. And honestly, I
- 11:28Speaker 2: give you so much kudos for recognizing these things quick
- 11:32Speaker 2: and having the hard conversations because I've done the opposite
- 11:35Speaker 2: where it's like, I knew something's wrong. The alerts are
- 11:37Speaker 2: going off and I stay. Yeah. Because it's hard. Conversations
- 11:41Speaker 2: are hard. So like a lot of A lot of
- 11:43Speaker 2: kudos to you for having those tough conversations.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Thank you. And also, when I'm going out, I'm never
- 11:48Speaker 1: going out to talk to a guy. Yeah. The guys
- 11:52Speaker 1: probably fear me. I'm just doing weird things at the bar,
- 11:56Speaker 1: going up to them, saying, there you are. It's all
- 11:59Speaker 1: a joke to me. Honestly, everything I do is seriously
- 12:03Speaker 1: a joke. But all these guys always... take it seriously
- 12:06Speaker 1: that I have these, like, crazy bad intentions, but I don't.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Like, I literally never do. You just have them so entranced.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Like, all my antics are just hilarious to me. Like,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I have to keep myself entertained.
- 12:17Speaker 3: You are very fun to go out with.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Because no one else is keeping me entertained, honestly. So
- 12:21Speaker 1: someone's got to do it.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And you've got to be the one to do it.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I need to tell him about the shot that you
- 12:26Speaker 3: and your friends were taking. I didn't even realize this
- 12:29Speaker 3: concoction existed. So I meet Miranda out at American Social
- 12:33Speaker 3: after the Rowdies game, and I'm like having, you know,
- 12:36Speaker 3: I'm 29, so I'm having a glass of wine.
- 12:38Speaker 2: She's so sophisticated.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I'm so sophisticated.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Oh, you wait. Miranda creeps up on you.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I got hammered that night.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you did seem drunk, and I was like, she's
- 12:47Speaker 1: only drinking wine.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Because wine gets you. That's why I drink wine is
- 12:50Speaker 3: because it's delicious, and it gets you messed up after
- 12:54Speaker 3: like three glasses, and then makes you pass out.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It makes me so sleepy, though. I can't drink it
- 12:58Speaker 1: when I'm going out. It's like an at-home activity.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it does make me a little sleepy, so I
- 13:02Speaker 3: do prefer tequila most of the time. But tequila sometimes
- 13:05Speaker 3: keeps me too sentient. And I think that night I
- 13:07Speaker 3: was like, I don't want to be here. Not like
- 13:09Speaker 3: I don't want to be here, like I wanted to
- 13:11Speaker 3: be out. But like, you know, sometimes when you're just like,
- 13:12Speaker 3: you know what?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, like I want to let loose. Like I want
- 13:14Speaker 2: to go, I want to turn all the way up.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of wanted to be out there. And
- 13:17Speaker 3: so I meet Miranda at American Social and she goes,
- 13:21Speaker 3: let's take shots. but it looks like cough syrup and
- 13:24Speaker 3: it sounds delicious. What is in it?
- 13:28Speaker 1: So it is rumple.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Obviously she loves a rumpleman shot.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I love a rumple. It's rumple Jaeger and fireball. Oh
- 13:37Speaker 1: my God.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I don't want any of those things separately.
- 13:40Speaker 1: There's another name for it. That's probably more appropriate. It's like, um,
- 13:44Speaker 1: Energizer shot or something that's probably more appropriate.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It sounds like the Long Island iced tea of shots
- 13:49Speaker 3: like just a bunch of someone She's like, let's just
- 13:51Speaker 3: try this.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I hate a Long Island iced tea. Oh I hate
- 13:56Speaker 1: a Long Island iced tea.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Who likes a Long Island iced tea? Honestly, that's my
- 13:59Speaker 3: drink choice.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Like who invented it?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Long Island?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, they love iced tea.
- 14:03Speaker 1: What is it? It's twisted tea I know and then
- 14:06Speaker 1: tequila and.
- 14:07Speaker 2: It's like every liquor in one.
- 14:08Speaker 3: No, I think it's like five different shots of liquor.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Like there's no iced tea in it.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I swore Twisted Tea was in it. No.
- 14:13Speaker 2: That's what you probably did in college. Y'all just wanted
- 14:15Speaker 2: to have more alcohol in it and added a Twisted Tea.
- 14:17Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I think it's an Arnold Palmer.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Arnold Palmer. Arnold Palmer.
- 14:22Speaker 1: But those shots are honestly better than Rumpelstiltskin. Because the
- 14:25Speaker 1: fireball really compliments it. And then you can't really taste
- 14:28Speaker 1: the Jager.
- 14:29Speaker 3: You're getting the notes of cinnamon that really compliment the
- 14:31Speaker 3: mint aftertaste.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I love a fireball. Like, I truly do love fireball.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I can drink it, like, easy.
- 14:37Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 14:38Speaker 2: That is crazy. Because it took me... I remember college
- 14:41Speaker 2: ruined that for me. Yeah. And then I was... I
- 14:43Speaker 2: don't know. Probably within the last six months was I
- 14:46Speaker 2: able to do another fireball shot.
- 14:48Speaker 3: The last time I had fireball, I was your age.
- 14:50Speaker 3: And I was dating a guy. And he would order
- 14:52Speaker 3: fireball because it was the cheapest shot on the menu.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And every time... I felt like such an a-hole because
- 14:56Speaker 3: I had, like, this quote-unquote big girl job, and he
- 14:58Speaker 3: was still in school, and I was like, I'm going
- 15:00Speaker 3: to need you to get me a shot of vodka.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Like, I'm not.
- 15:02Speaker 2: We're not doing fireball.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Like, what do I look like, 18?
- 15:06Speaker 2: But you enjoy it. That's good on you, though. You
- 15:09Speaker 2: know what? I will say, like, the one time we
- 15:11Speaker 2: went out and watched the UF game, and I saw, like, Miranda,
- 15:13Speaker 2: you are the shot queen. It's impressive.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Because you do it like it's nothing. I do it
- 15:18Speaker 2: and I'm like a little baby about it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And I feel like I'm still very composed afterwards.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you're not a sloppy drunk. You know when
- 15:25Speaker 3: to turn it off because I remember I was out
- 15:26Speaker 3: with you at Lower Deck and you were like, you
- 15:28Speaker 3: know what? I got to go. And that's an underrated
- 15:30Speaker 3: skill that most people don't have.
- 15:32Speaker 1: That's strength and resilience.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Look at her. Growing up before our very own eyes.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yes. No, I think I'm really good when I'm drunk.
- 15:41Speaker 2: That's good.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I'm not like a sad drunk. I'm not sloppy. I'm
- 15:44Speaker 1: not mean.
- 15:45Speaker 3: No.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah. That's impressive because there are some that are like
- 15:48Speaker 2: fighters and criers.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I might arguably be nicer when I'm drunk. I'm like,
- 15:53Speaker 1: I've made a lot of amends with people at the bar.
- 15:56Speaker 2: That's beautiful. Like, are you somebody who gets like emotional
- 15:59Speaker 2: with your friends?
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yes, I do get emotional. I love you guys.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You're always there for me. I just need to let
- 16:04Speaker 2: you know. Actually, that's a really good quality to have.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I don't have that one. Now I get anxious. It
- 16:09Speaker 2: hasn't always been like that. But if I drink a
- 16:11Speaker 2: little too much, I get very anxious and inside my
- 16:13Speaker 2: head of like, Oh, God, I'm saying something wrong. I'm
- 16:15Speaker 2: doing something wrong. I'm going to start a problem. And
- 16:17Speaker 2: I'm like, time to go home. This isn't fun. Do
- 16:19Speaker 2: you get anxiety? Oh, my God, yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I don't get anxiety.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I didn't always. Like, I feel like it happened in
- 16:26Speaker 2: my last, like, four years of life. All of a sudden,
- 16:29Speaker 2: I wake up and I'm like, oh, Scott, you did
- 16:32Speaker 2: something wrong. And I have to, like, piece it together.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I'm like, what the heck did I do? So for
- 16:35Speaker 2: a while, like, I gave up drinking altogether because, like,
- 16:38Speaker 2: you know what? We're just not going to deal with
- 16:40Speaker 2: that anymore. But now it's a lot healthier. Now I'm like, okay,
- 16:42Speaker 2: a couple glasses of wine. We're good. Anxiety.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I know. I'm like, maybe I should have anxiety sometimes,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but I'm like, I'm the entertainment at the bar.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, we've talked about that before, though.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Good times.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Like, you should allow yourself, because Abby and I talked
- 16:55Speaker 2: about this a couple episodes ago, to, like, let loose.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You know, the things that you're doing, like, it sounds
- 17:00Speaker 2: like it's not even that bad. It sounds like it's
- 17:02Speaker 2: just a good time, as you're supposed to be having
- 17:04Speaker 2: a good time. However that looks. Yeah. Sometimes it's at
- 17:06Speaker 2: the bar. And just realizing that when you wake up,
- 17:09Speaker 2: you're like... I'm young.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm fun.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be having a good time.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Having fun is underrated. Like I feel like I learned,
- 17:16Speaker 3: I don't know if it's the pandemic that just put
- 17:18Speaker 3: a speed bump in my fun plans. Like I feel
- 17:20Speaker 3: like I'm mourning my early twenties, whereas in my late twenties,
- 17:24Speaker 3: now early thirties, I'm like, you know what? I want
- 17:27Speaker 3: to have as much fun as physically possible. I'm so
- 17:30Speaker 3: sick of being lame. I just want to go out
- 17:31Speaker 3: and do crazy things. And I'm sure I'll regret it.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Like it's sort of like your freshman year of college.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Like you go crazy and you're like, okay, I've got
- 17:37Speaker 3: to be a real adult now. And maybe that'll be
- 17:39Speaker 3: my 30s. I wake up and I go, you know what?
- 17:41Speaker 3: I'm glad I had that fun, but time to go
- 17:43Speaker 3: back to paying taxes.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Yeah, time to go to bed by 9. Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 3: No, maybe 10.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Okay, 10. Let's not go crazy.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Well, during the week, I'm like a grandma.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Well, you got an adult job. Yeah. You're running things
- 17:55Speaker 2: in this business.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I don't know how people show up to work hungover.
- 17:58Speaker 3: It makes zero sense to me, like how people do
- 18:00Speaker 3: like a Tuesday night bev.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 2: What did I do? On Sunday night, we were watching
- 18:05Speaker 2: a movie, had a couple glasses of wine, and I
- 18:07Speaker 2: was like, oh, Lord have mercy, it's going to hurt
- 18:08Speaker 2: on Monday. And I was surprised it didn't. But to
- 18:11Speaker 2: wake up, I guess if, I don't know, what time
- 18:12Speaker 2: do you have to get up, Miranda, like to come here?
- 18:14Speaker 1: Well, I usually work out in the morning, so I
- 18:16Speaker 1: get up at like 5.45, 5.50.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You are so impressive. You're going out on Thursdays working
- 18:21Speaker 2: out in the morning?
- 18:22Speaker 3: You're not a Grammy. You're just a respectable adult getting
- 18:25Speaker 3: your shit done.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you have the good balance of all of it.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Thanks, guys.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Okay, so we got rid of Cowboy. We got rid
- 18:30Speaker 2: of Superman. We got rid of Superman.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Well, Superman, he's in the picture, but, like, just as, like, entertaining.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Can you please read that text that he sent you
- 18:38Speaker 3: the other day?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I think this is the funniest shit.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Let me find it.
- 18:42Speaker 3: He sent her a random text.
- 18:44Speaker 1: On a Tuesday at 10 a.m.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Requesting her presence.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Requesting my beautiful presence.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Naturally. But it's how he said it that I'm like, oh,
- 18:51Speaker 3: his sense of humor is actually hysterical.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Like, yeah, like, maybe we are meant to be together.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Loki, I would like for you to give Superman another chance.
- 19:00Speaker 3: But I also know that you have other romantic liaisons
- 19:02Speaker 3: lingering in the background.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So, okay. Tuesday, October 13th at 10.13 a.m. He said, Jim,
- 19:12Speaker 1: remember the dog?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Oh, yes. Jim.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Jim speaks fluent English and is psychic now. And he said,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you and I are going to get dinner and drinks
- 19:20Speaker 1: and then see a movie together after work. Super. Superman,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I'm blushing. Then he thought about it again and he
- 19:26Speaker 1: said that you're going to sleep over platonically and we're
- 19:28Speaker 1: going to kiss as friends.
- 19:30Speaker 3: We're going to kiss as friends is so funny to me.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I'm flattered.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I don't really like that.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Right?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Like, that sounds nice.
- 19:36Speaker 2: That sounds really nice.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I wish you would get back together with Superman.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Get back together.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah, get back together.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Get back together with him. He's a couple years older.
- 19:44Speaker 3: He's a little bit more stable than these young bucks.
- 19:47Speaker 3: And he's funny, clearly.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I know.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I know he's very thoughtful it sounds like but he
- 19:53Speaker 2: okay wasn't he the one that called things off.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah but it's because she texted him 58 times.
- 19:58Speaker 1: No he never called it off guys we're still super
- 20:01Speaker 1: on oh so have you gone on the date Just
- 20:05Speaker 1: say yes.
- 20:05Speaker 3: To dinner and drinks. Have them take you to Real Tacos,
- 20:07Speaker 3: that New Mexican place.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I've been dying to go there.
- 20:10Speaker 3: It is confirmed very good.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Hello, Alexia.
- 20:12Speaker 3: They have one in Atlanta. It's a good place in Atlanta.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I want to go. I want to go. But I
- 20:15Speaker 1: might be going there with New Prospect.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Girl, go both places.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Do you want to give a different nickname? Because I'm
- 20:20Speaker 3: not going to give.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The nickname that we have for him. No, we can't
- 20:23Speaker 1: say that. Let's think.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Well, what's one quality about this person?
- 20:28Speaker 3: You know this person.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I do?
- 20:29Speaker 3: You do know this person.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Hang on.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Mics aside.
- 20:32Speaker 1: How do I know if this is him?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Nice.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Nice, Scotty says. Yeah, that's our new boyfriend.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 20:43Speaker 1: What should we give him?
- 20:45Speaker 3: I'm going to let you take the wheel because I'm
- 20:46Speaker 3: going to say something and it's going to end up
- 20:47Speaker 3: being obvious.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I know. I can't think of anything that's not obvious.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Obvious to people in Tampa.
- 20:52Speaker 1: People listening in.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Atlanta are going to be like, who?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, we got so many good Atlanta listeners.
- 20:55Speaker 3: What about, I don't know. I need you to say
- 21:00Speaker 3: something because otherwise I'm going to do this.
- 21:01Speaker 2: What's a quality you find cute about him? His mustache.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Oh. We were just talking about.
- 21:08Speaker 1: We were just talking about how he should cut the mustache.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Oh, there you go.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I like it then.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I read a study once on Facebook years ago that
- 21:13Speaker 3: said that they compared different things that have, that are
- 21:17Speaker 3: very germy, like toilet seats, phones, and facial hair, and
- 21:20Speaker 3: they found that facial hair has the most fecal matter
- 21:23Speaker 3: out of all things.
- 21:23Speaker 2: That's disgusting. So that's all.
- 21:25Speaker 1: When I. Wait, I don't understand how that happens.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Because men are disgusting.
- 21:30Speaker 2: That's true. That's true. Most of us are.
- 21:32Speaker 3: So I'm like, you got to bathe that thing.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he should be washing that thing.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yikes.
- 21:37Speaker 3: You want to call him Mr. Mustache?
- 21:39Speaker 2: Mr. Mustache.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Mr.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Mustache. There you go. We got to pause it here
- 21:43Speaker 2: because I want to make sure that we get another update.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I think one, Mr. Mustache sounds great, but it's like
- 21:49Speaker 2: Abby said, like go on these dates. Why limit yourself
- 21:52Speaker 2: to one?
- 21:52Speaker 3: No, literally go out with Mr.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Mustache.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Go out with Superman. And then don't wife any of
- 21:57Speaker 3: them up. Just be a young, free woman.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to date anyone. Like, seriously.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, just go have fun.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Because none of them.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Young and fun.
- 22:06Speaker 1: None of them just... It's not working.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's not working right now.
- 22:10Speaker 3: And it shouldn't, you know?
- 22:12Speaker 1: It's true.
- 22:12Speaker 3: This is the age for you to just... You know
- 22:15Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Do you have any of your friends married yet, Miranda?
- 22:19Speaker 1: No.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Good. Okay.
- 22:20Speaker 1: But I'm like... Actually, only one of my friends is
- 22:24Speaker 1: in a long-term relationship. Oh, two of my close friends
- 22:27Speaker 1: are in long-term relationships.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I just ask because sometimes you get to that age
- 22:29Speaker 2: where it's like everyone graduates and it feels like a rush.
- 22:31Speaker 2: All of a sudden, Instagram's like, engagement, engagement, marriage, marriage.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And you're like, am I doing something wrong?
- 22:36Speaker 3: No, I feel like that doesn't happen until late 20s.
- 22:38Speaker 1: No, there definitely are some people like from my grade
- 22:42Speaker 1: getting engaged, but none of like my close friends yet.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 2: As long as you don't feel that rush.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Like once you get out of college, people obviously start
- 22:49Speaker 3: getting married, but I feel like it's not, it doesn't
- 22:51Speaker 3: feel like everybody's getting married until like 28, 29.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 2: And then it's all of a sudden, literally every invitation
- 22:58Speaker 2: comes through and then you have to decide what ones
- 23:00Speaker 2: do you want to spend money on? Right. And then
- 23:02Speaker 2: you see who your real fans are who don't invite
- 23:04Speaker 2: you to their weddings. That's what I'm experiencing right now, Miranda.
- 23:07Speaker 3: And then you also realize how many people are literally
- 23:09Speaker 3: just settling. They're just picking people.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And that's scary. They're just picking people.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Oh, I know. You know what's cool? Ah, see, we're
- 23:16Speaker 2: going to have to stop. But it's like, yeah, I
- 23:18Speaker 2: see friends that literally were like, you know, together right
- 23:20Speaker 2: after college. They seemed like the happiest of couples. I
- 23:23Speaker 2: just saw on Instagram like, Everybody just hashtag divorce. And
- 23:26Speaker 2: I'm like, what the heck? I'm like, y'all, that was
- 23:30Speaker 2: like two years of marriage.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Do not get married or make a serious commitment until
- 23:34Speaker 3: your frontal lobe is developed.
- 23:36Speaker 2: 24, 25.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I'm serious. I'm serious. It's going to flip.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Breakups pretty cheap. Divorce. Very expensive. Miranda, we need more
- 23:45Speaker 2: updates from you. We need to have you in more
- 23:47Speaker 2: because I'm so curious on how these situations go and
- 23:49Speaker 2: your life is just so fun to listen to.
- 23:51Speaker 3: I know, you're so much more fun than us.
- 23:53Speaker 1: No, don't say that.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I was just telling Jenna, I was like, I'm too
- 23:56Speaker 3: old to have crazy romantic liaisons because I'll just be
- 23:58Speaker 3: in the middle of it and be like, what am
- 23:59Speaker 3: I doing? Get out of my house.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah. We'll come back again next week. We want more
- 24:05Speaker 2: updates from you and go on those dates. I do
- 24:07Speaker 2: also want to give a huge thank you to all
- 24:09Speaker 2: the comments that came in. Speaking of age and now
- 24:12Speaker 2: we're just talking about being 30. I saw this comment
- 24:14Speaker 2: that came through. From K.S. Croggins, who said, Y'all are
- 24:18Speaker 2: going to love your 30s. See, something to look forward to, Miranda.
- 24:22Speaker 2: It was the most freeing decade of my life, and
- 24:24Speaker 2: my 40s have been even better. Both of you have
- 24:27Speaker 2: your crap together more than you think.
