- 0:08Speaker 1: Advice. It's love love, Love Lovello. Welcome to the Naughty
- 0:17Speaker 1: but Nicer. I'm your host of Shooter and it is Thursday,
- 0:19Speaker 1: which means our dear friend mock Lupa joins us.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Hey, LUPI are you there, Lupy lewis here?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Hey, rub Upylus. Loopy Lou was at a very special event.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I was invited and I didn't have the hotspur to
- 0:31Speaker 1: go because it starred Hilaria bald would mad Mark, You
- 0:35Speaker 1: and I have had a lot of fun about Hillary.
- 0:38Speaker 1: There I go again on our little show. You were
- 0:41Speaker 1: invited to, but you you turned up. Tell me everything that.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Was turned up. There's a two day event. The first
- 0:48Speaker 2: day was a cocktail party with Ladia and she was
- 0:51Speaker 2: presented with diamonds natural diamonds for her for her participation
- 0:55Speaker 2: in this award show. And then the second night was
- 0:57Speaker 2: a seated dinner and Ilaria looked gorgeous like her dress,
- 1:02Speaker 2: the hair was so exaggerated, and she was I will
- 1:05Speaker 2: say this. I approached her, I said hello, and she
- 1:08Speaker 2: was very very sweet. She was having the time of
- 1:10Speaker 2: her life.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, truly, the after everything, that's why I love you.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Good for you? Hello? Did you call her? Hilaria or
- 1:21Speaker 1: did you call her Hilary?
- 1:22Speaker 2: I was like Hilary, and then I was like Hilaria,
- 1:25Speaker 2: and then I'm like, what is her name? I couldn't remember.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It was too many drinks.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I love those nights. Hey, it's fantastic, let's jump into asure.
- 1:33Speaker 1: What time is it, my friends? It is tea time.
- 1:35Speaker 1: This story is exploded and I can't get enough of it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: So Oprah Winfrey has declared that on her show, Her
- 1:41Speaker 1: Fabulous Show in Chicago, one guest fell off the stage
- 1:45Speaker 1: and that guest was Whitney Houston. Oprah I was doing
- 1:48Speaker 1: an interview. This is on the record. She wasn't talking
- 1:50Speaker 1: to Gail in a coffee shop and was over her.
- 1:53Speaker 1: She sat down and did an interview at Calm Lyons,
- 1:55Speaker 1: which is a big festival in Francis. She was on
- 1:58Speaker 1: stage and she was asked about the most difficult celebrities
- 2:01Speaker 1: everybody went on the Oprah Show. It's sort of like
- 2:03Speaker 1: a standard question. If ever you're interviewing somebody who works
- 2:06Speaker 1: on TV, you always ask who was the best guest?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Who was the worst guest? That's the one you really want.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The worst guest will get you a lot of attention.
- 2:13Speaker 1: A lot of cliques. So Oprah was asked and she
- 2:15Speaker 1: said it was Whitney, and she did it in I
- 2:16Speaker 1: think a really sweet so sweet the right word. She
- 2:19Speaker 1: did it in a very compassionate way. She said she'd
- 2:21Speaker 1: interviewed Whitney many many times, and the first time she
- 2:24Speaker 1: interviewed it, she was great. And unfortunately there was an
- 2:27Speaker 1: incident where Whitney, Oprah claims, was high, came out to perform,
- 2:32Speaker 1: fell off the stage, and then Oprah said to her audience, please, please,
- 2:36Speaker 1: please do not tell anybody about this. There's like one
- 2:39Speaker 1: hundred people in that audience, maybe even a little more.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I've been to the show many times in Chicago, and
- 2:44Speaker 1: the audience, to their credit, to Oprah's credit, never mentioned it.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So now all these years later, we're talking about it. Well,
- 2:50Speaker 1: the Whitney Houston family, I'm not happy, and they're saying
- 2:54Speaker 1: it didn't happen. She did fall off the stage, but
- 2:56Speaker 1: she wasn't high on drugs. Now, Whitney's former bodyguard has
- 3:01Speaker 1: come forward. His name's Ray, and he said she wasn't high,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but he did confirm she fell off the stage. This
- 3:06Speaker 1: is what the problem. The people surrounding Whitney are going
- 3:10Speaker 1: to have arguing that Whitney was not high. That's a
- 3:14Speaker 1: very difficult argument because we know she abused drugs. We've
- 3:18Speaker 1: seen it. She's no longer with us. She died in
- 3:21Speaker 1: a bathtub. Like claiming that she was sober on that day.
- 3:26Speaker 1: That's kind of a difficult thing to square because we
- 3:31Speaker 1: know who Whitney was. What do you think you know?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Listen, Whitney is dead and gone. It's been quite a
- 3:38Speaker 2: while since we've seen Whitney, heard from Whitney, and she
- 3:40Speaker 2: can't defend herself in this moment. So I don't think
- 3:42Speaker 2: it's it's fair. And I also feel like Oprah, if
- 3:46Speaker 2: you're saying that you beg your audience, you beg these
- 3:49Speaker 2: hundreds I should add one hundreds of people in two
- 3:52Speaker 2: thousand and nine, which is the peak of the TMZ
- 3:55Speaker 2: A sweetly and you said please don't say anything, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: now you're here saying it. What was the point of
- 3:59Speaker 2: that there?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it is tricky. Now there is apparently some video
- 4:05Speaker 1: of Oprah talking to Clive Davis. Clive Davis has just passed.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Rest in peace. He was the guy that discovered Whitney Houston.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So Clive loved publicity more than any star. He wasn't
- 4:14Speaker 1: a star, he was an executive, but he just couldn't
- 4:16Speaker 1: help himself. He was sort of like a reality star.
- 4:18Speaker 1: He was always on TV. And so Oprah did an
- 4:21Speaker 1: interview with him on Over Zoom. It wasn't on her show,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and this incident came up, and Clive is very defensive
- 4:27Speaker 1: about Whitney because there's been a lot of suggestions that
- 4:29Speaker 1: he really didn't help. In fact, maybe keeping Whitney in
- 4:33Speaker 1: the closet, maybe that added to her trauma and maybe
- 4:38Speaker 1: the drug use. And so Oprah in this interview claims
- 4:41Speaker 1: that Whitney did fall off the stage, which she wasn't high.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I think here was sort of like picking hairs. Whitney
- 4:48Speaker 1: was a drug user. I'd seen Whitney several times, including
- 4:53Speaker 1: backstage at Clive Davis's party. I used to work for
- 4:55Speaker 1: Alicia Keys, she was one of Clive's artists. Well I
- 4:58Speaker 1: saw backstage at Clive's party with Whitney. Houston was outrageous.
- 5:02Speaker 1: She was clearly out of her mind on drugs, and
- 5:06Speaker 1: everybody knew it, nobody dared say it. And I've gotta admit, Oprah,
- 5:12Speaker 1: maybe in two thousand and nine, if you had said something.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Maybe I'm not gonna say Whitney would be here today,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but maybe we would have had to force Whitney, or
- 5:21Speaker 1: maybe Whitney herself would have dealt with this. It's so
- 5:25Speaker 1: interesting keeping people's secrets, which I do the opposite for
- 5:30Speaker 1: a living. Let's just be clear. I'm invested in the
- 5:32Speaker 1: opposite here. Secrets are not good mark they free you.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I always say to people, it's gonna get out eventually.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Unfortunately here it took almost twenty years and Whitney's no
- 5:44Speaker 1: longer around to defend herself or even learn from this experience.
- 5:47Speaker 1: But they always get out. So I think Oprah might
- 5:50Speaker 1: have done Whitney a disservice if Whitney fell off that
- 5:53Speaker 1: stage because she was high. I think talking about it
- 5:56Speaker 1: back then might have forced Whitney to get help.
- 6:00Speaker 2: You think about that, I mean, it's a huge service.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Why bring it up fifteen years twenty years later when
- 6:05Speaker 2: you didn't? You botched it. You could have said, yeah, privately,
- 6:08Speaker 2: hey you have an issue, let's let's figure this out.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You had or had all the resources to figure She
- 6:13Speaker 2: helped Lindsay Lohan when Lindsay Lohan was in down the Dump.
- 6:16Speaker 1: So she also gave her a TV show though too
- 6:19Speaker 1: as little self servid like Oprah gives with one takes
- 6:22Speaker 1: with the other.
- 6:22Speaker 2: She does. And I feel like Clive's kind of gross too.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Like the day that Whitney died, he continued on with
- 6:27Speaker 2: that party and celebrated the Grammys. And I just think
- 6:30Speaker 2: no one had Whitney's best interest in heart. It was
- 6:32Speaker 2: she was a machine. They wanted to make money.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And now you know now this, Yeah, they're all painting
- 6:37Speaker 1: themselves now as the savior. You didn't save her. In fact,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you were complicit in Whitney's downfall. I was around pop
- 6:45Speaker 1: stars in the music business during that period just because
- 6:48Speaker 1: that was my job with j Lo and did he,
- 6:50Speaker 1: let's let's help forget Clive funded. Did he? Bad Boy
- 6:54Speaker 1: Records existed because Clive gave didd He fifty million dollars
- 6:58Speaker 1: to develop the label. So when somebody passes, I do
- 7:01Speaker 1: get it. I do get it. We want to remember
- 7:04Speaker 1: the nice things. We don't want to say any bad things.
- 7:06Speaker 1: But were complicated people. And I think if you tell
- 7:08Speaker 1: the whole story, it's actually going to be better, not
- 7:12Speaker 1: only for the person that has passed, but for the
- 7:14Speaker 1: next generations. Like we were allowed to make mistakes. We
- 7:17Speaker 1: all make mistakes, and I wish people would admit to them.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I'd love to talk to Oprah about this and say,
- 7:23Speaker 1: why are you bringing this up now? And do you
- 7:25Speaker 1: regret not bringing this up earlier? Everybody knew you knew Mark,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I knew. Everybody in show business knew Whitney was a disaster.
- 7:32Speaker 1: We know it about Britney Spears. We knew it about
- 7:35Speaker 1: Lindsay Lohan. Nobody would say anything. Well, maybe if somebody had,
- 7:40Speaker 1: things might have been a little bit different, Which brings
- 7:42Speaker 1: us to our pole question of the day. Oprah is
- 7:44Speaker 1: claiming that a high Whitney Houston fell off her stage
- 7:47Speaker 1: in Chicago. The family has denied it. Who do you believe?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Do you believe Oprah or do you believe the family? Oh?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Go vote on our ex Twitter page at Naughty Nice
- 7:56Speaker 1: rob Our facebook page is naughty Gossip and me sure
- 7:58Speaker 1: had to check back around here your results. Hey, loops,
- 8:03Speaker 1: what are you like it on? Yes?
- 8:04Speaker 2: So, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's no gift wedding rules
- 8:08Speaker 2: says everything about their priorities. Let me explain. It's very cute.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey are planning one of the
- 8:15Speaker 2: biggest celebrity weddings of the year. But despite their famine fortune,
- 8:18Speaker 2: the couple has one strict rule for guests. No gifts
- 8:22Speaker 2: couldn't be me so, friends say. Swift and Kelsey have
- 8:25Speaker 2: told everyone that their presence is present enough. That hasn't
- 8:29Speaker 2: stopped some guests from considering a small surprise anyway, but
- 8:32Speaker 2: the message is clear. After years of sold out stadiums,
- 8:36Speaker 2: super Bowl like super Bowl victories, and enormous success, they
- 8:39Speaker 2: already have everything they need.
- 8:43Speaker 1: By a gift, by a gift. I want to get
- 8:45Speaker 1: a gift. I registered at Michael Cina and I went
- 8:48Speaker 1: through there and there was only one person who didn't
- 8:51Speaker 1: get me a gift. And I was furious and I
- 8:53Speaker 1: didn't realize that. Emily Posts, the etiquette expert, says, you
- 8:57Speaker 1: have a year from the wedding to get a gift.
- 9:00Speaker 1: It has to be within the So literally two days
- 9:03Speaker 1: before the year was up, a gift turned up from
- 9:05Speaker 1: my friend. It was Colleen. Colleen worked for the Obamas,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and she got Bruce and I a letter from the
- 9:10Speaker 1: Obamas saying congratulations on your I've got it. I know
- 9:13Speaker 1: it's one of my prized possessions. I got it framed
- 9:16Speaker 1: and it says congratulations on the first anniversary of your
- 9:18Speaker 1: wedding Michelle and barat love So. And then the richest
- 9:23Speaker 1: person at my wedding bought the cheapest gift. And Mark,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I've been married ten years. It's still on my mind. Still,
- 9:30Speaker 1: I still think, Mark, if you ever tied the dotted
- 9:34Speaker 1: I'm saying it could happen, would you have a registery
- 9:40Speaker 1: or would you say, Rob, your presence is enough, that's enough.
- 9:44Speaker 2: No, I won't gift.
- 9:46Speaker 1: But it's true, Rob, to your point.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Rich people are cheap.
- 9:49Speaker 1: You're not.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You're not getting a big gift. It's so frustrated.
- 9:53Speaker 1: My sisters, who were probably the poorest people at the wedding,
- 9:56Speaker 1: they're regular people. I love them. They're my favorite people
- 9:59Speaker 1: at the wedding too, apart from Bruce. Sorry if you're
- 10:01Speaker 1: listening and you came to the wedding and they're not
- 10:03Speaker 1: one of my sisters, but I love you all. But
- 10:05Speaker 1: they got me the nicest gifts and they didn't have
- 10:07Speaker 1: any money, like they struggle. They had to pay for
- 10:10Speaker 1: their hair, like their flights and their hotels. And then
- 10:13Speaker 1: they got me a beautiful gift. I do want a gift.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I also was told to buy a wedding plan, and
- 10:19Speaker 1: I think this is a really good helpful marker. The
- 10:23Speaker 1: gifts should be about the same value as what your
- 10:26Speaker 1: dinner is costing the groom and the bride. So in
- 10:30Speaker 1: New York City it's going to be about two hundred
- 10:32Speaker 1: person ahead to throw a wedding might be four hundred.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm not how much mine was, yeah, min So if
- 10:40Speaker 1: you're if they're paying for you to come and have
- 10:43Speaker 1: dinner on them, which they are, they're not asking you
- 10:45Speaker 1: to pay for your dinner. What did that dinner cost them?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Could be two hundred and three hundred, and that's the
- 10:51Speaker 1: gift you should die. I like that. It's sort of
- 10:52Speaker 1: like a little marker, isn't it. You should almost pay
- 10:55Speaker 1: for your own dinner in gifts to the wedding. Okay,
- 10:59Speaker 1: moving along, Cruz Beckham, Oh, these Beckhams, they're so petty.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Took a dig at Brooklyn his brother, so things again
- 11:07Speaker 1: even more messy. So Cruise is at the World Cup
- 11:11Speaker 1: and he can't help himself. He took a picture with
- 11:16Speaker 1: his phone, so he's posing looking at his phone during
- 11:19Speaker 1: the match, which is a very very weird thing to
- 11:22Speaker 1: be doing. She should be watching the match, and he said,
- 11:24Speaker 1: don't worry. It was during a commercial break. Well, who
- 11:27Speaker 1: has a commercial during the World Cup? His brother has
- 11:30Speaker 1: a door dash commercial. I don't know if this is
- 11:33Speaker 1: all collected, but my sources say absolutely is the pettiness
- 11:37Speaker 1: within the family. I felt sorry for Brooklyn, then I
- 11:40Speaker 1: felt sorry for Victoria, then David, and now I've realized
- 11:43Speaker 1: don't feel sorry for any of them. They're all thoroughly
- 11:47Speaker 1: enjoying this. They're enjoying the attention Brooklyn learnt from his
- 11:50Speaker 1: mom and dad how to be a real, real, firstly
- 11:55Speaker 1: attention whore. And so I don't feel bad anymore. I
- 11:58Speaker 1: think this family is just driving on all this drama.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Hopefully I'm wrong.
- 12:02Speaker 2: What do you think this reminds me of the Royal family?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Kind of?
- 12:05Speaker 1: It just doesn't Petty petty, you always say that the
- 12:08Speaker 1: Royal Petty. I love it.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I think Megan is taking notes right now about how she.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Got I love it. I love it, I love it. Okay,
- 12:18Speaker 1: moving along? This is this is a big move here.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Mark The Nancy Guthrie case might be nearing a breakthrough.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Fingers crossed.
- 12:28Speaker 3: What's happening I mean, after nearly five months from of
- 12:31Speaker 3: heartbreaking on answer questions, there might be a breaking the
- 12:35Speaker 3: case of former FBI agent claims investigators are getting closer
- 12:39Speaker 3: to identifying the masked figure caught on the security camera.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Than she vanished, and then mysterious porch guy has become
- 12:45Speaker 2: known as one of the most chilling chilling images back
- 12:48Speaker 2: into the case. But authorready said that they make their
- 12:50Speaker 2: an arrest, more details will come quickly.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so. If they arrest this
- 12:55Speaker 1: porch guy, that's what he's now known as the porch guy,
- 12:58Speaker 1: if they arrest him, he gotta tell them what you're
- 13:01Speaker 1: doing there. And if they find out what he's doing there,
- 13:03Speaker 1: that whole case is going to become very very clear.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It is heartbreaking today. I have a substack mark robshooter
- 13:09Speaker 1: dot substack dot com and it's a newsletter and if
- 13:11Speaker 1: you sign up for it, if you put your email
- 13:12Speaker 1: address in, it's free or you can subscribe either or
- 13:16Speaker 1: it's up to you. I'd rather either or eight dollars
- 13:21Speaker 1: a month. It's two dollars a week. It's worth it
- 13:23Speaker 1: dollar worth it. You can't get a cup of coffee
- 13:25Speaker 1: for that any case. Today's lead story on my substack
- 13:29Speaker 1: is about Savannah. This story broke on Tuesday, and my friends,
- 13:33Speaker 1: people I know, my sources at the Today Show said
- 13:35Speaker 1: they didn't think she'd turn up for work that day. Basically,
- 13:38Speaker 1: what we're finding out by the new Ransom note is
- 13:40Speaker 1: that Nancy is no longer with us. It's a real major,
- 13:44Speaker 1: major development. And so staff at the Today Show said,
- 13:47Speaker 1: there's no way Savannah's coming in today. She insisted, I
- 13:50Speaker 1: love this about Savannah. She said, no, I'm not gonna
- 13:53Speaker 1: let these monsters win. I'm gonna turn up and get this.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I'm going to address it. Everything on these shows is
- 14:00Speaker 1: not scripted, but it is in a lineup. They know
- 14:03Speaker 1: the topics that they're going to touch, and it would
- 14:05Speaker 1: have been very easy for Savannah for the producers to say, no,
- 14:08Speaker 1: we're just not going to touch this subject. And it
- 14:12Speaker 1: was Savannah herself who said, I'm here today. NBC. The
- 14:15Speaker 1: bosses there have been so so generous with her time.
- 14:19Speaker 1: That take as much time off as you need. They
- 14:21Speaker 1: were really being supportive. We've got to tip our hats
- 14:23Speaker 1: here to NBC for doing that. And it was Savannah
- 14:26Speaker 1: who said, no, this is a major story. We are
- 14:29Speaker 1: a news organization. I hate that the story is about
- 14:33Speaker 1: me and my family, but we're going to address it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And I thought she did it with such grace. I'm
- 14:38Speaker 1: not sure I could have been there that Daymark, to
- 14:41Speaker 1: actually have that that will, that will to still have
- 14:47Speaker 1: joy in your life in really one of the most
- 14:49Speaker 1: ugly chapters. I find so so so inspiring. This story.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oh just awful. Okay, we're going to take a quick
- 14:58Speaker 1: break and we will be right back. Welcome back to
- 15:03Speaker 1: the Naughty but Nice Share and your hair Storm Shooter
- 15:06Speaker 1: with their dear friend, Mark Lupoe, a little bit of
- 15:08Speaker 1: breaking news. Lionel Richie last night seemed to clapse on
- 15:11Speaker 1: stage and he felt faint. He took a seat. He
- 15:14Speaker 1: was performing dancing on the ceiling, and the crowd were
- 15:18Speaker 1: really supported of him. But it was in front of
- 15:20Speaker 1: a packed crowd. You know, we see Lionel Richard, we
- 15:24Speaker 1: saw what happened with Rod Stewart. These artists now Share,
- 15:29Speaker 1: these artists that are getting up there in age. It's hard.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I have mixed feelings on it. Mark. Part of me
- 15:35Speaker 1: is like, retire, stop it. But then again part of
- 15:38Speaker 1: me is like, no one's making them do it. If
- 15:40Speaker 1: they enjoy this, and they clearly do. Billy Joel, Lionel
- 15:43Speaker 1: Rich if that Madonna. Last time I saw Madonna, she
- 15:45Speaker 1: was awful. I loved it. I loved it and I
- 15:48Speaker 1: loved it. And if people like me are willing to
- 15:50Speaker 1: pay all that money to see Madonna literally shuffle around
- 15:54Speaker 1: the stage, she didn't really move like Elton John, I
- 15:58Speaker 1: don't know. Do you think they should retire gracefully or
- 16:00Speaker 1: just keep going if people want to see.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Them also, and I think it's a mix of book.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Maybe just do a few shows a year and when
- 16:06Speaker 2: you're feeling great.
- 16:07Speaker 1: That's how you do it. That's how you do it. Yeah,
- 16:09Speaker 1: that's how you don't go on tour. One or two
- 16:11Speaker 1: big shows a maybe at Carnegie Hall or the Hollywood
- 16:15Speaker 1: Bowl or someone of those massive places make you a
- 16:18Speaker 1: lot of them need the money though, too. That's why
- 16:20Speaker 1: I think this part of it is the attention. The
- 16:23Speaker 1: other part is the money. Okay, don't forget to vote
- 16:26Speaker 1: on today's poll about Whitney Houston. Who do you believe? Oprah?
- 16:31Speaker 1: You gotta go with Oprah here or Whitney although this
- 16:34Speaker 1: is the family, who do you believe? Hey? Go those
- 16:38Speaker 1: on our Twitter page at naughty nice rob Our facebook
