- 0:16Is it beautiful that no matter where we are, we can walk with
- 0:20him every single day? Jesus is the one who connects us
- 0:24all and stands at the very center of our lives day after
- 0:28day. Through this podcast, you'll
- 0:30hear voices from across the region sharing devotionals that
- 0:34reminds us of God's presence in our everyday moments.
- 0:42This week we're highlighting the India field.
- 0:45It is the largest measuring field in the Eurasia region with
- 0:48more than 95,000 members and over 2300 churches.
- 0:54Throughout the week, voices from across the field will be sharing
- 0:58their daily devotionals with us. Today we will listen to Reverend
- 1:02TSP. Raja serves as the Co pastor of
- 1:05the Missouri Church of the Nazarene.
- 1:07He also serves as the field coordinator of NDI and Zone
- 1:11Development Facilitator for the South Zone at the India field as
- 1:14well. Let's read Numbers 1330 to 33,
- 1:20when Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said we should
- 1:24go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do
- 1:28it. But the men who had gone up with
- 1:31him said we cannot attack those people.
- 1:34They are stronger than we are. And they spread among these
- 1:37lights a bad report about the land they had explored.
- 1:41They said the land we explored divorce, those living in it.
- 1:46All the people we saw there are of great size.
- 1:50We saw the nephew in there, the descendants of Anna come from
- 1:54the Nephilim. We seemed like grasshoppers in
- 1:57our own eyes, and we look the same to them.
- 2:00Dear friends, fear is one of the obstacles that comes in the way
- 2:05of the people who believe in God.
- 2:06It is not only an obstacle but a dangerous weapon that the enemy
- 2:11uses to silence the faithful from achieving God's purposes in
- 2:16our lives. As we read from the book of
- 2:19Numbers that the 10 of the spies were gripped with fear about the
- 2:24reality and possibility of conquering the enemies, they
- 2:29could be right according to their own words that come from
- 2:33the human perspective. These words were born out of
- 2:38fear, they were born out of frailty, and they were born out
- 2:43of their own flesh. The voice of fear chokes the one
- 2:47who has it. The danger of fear is that it
- 2:51blinds us to the facts of the past, it cripples us to the acts
- 2:57of the present, and it chokes us from grasping the future.
- 3:02Let me repeat it The danger of fear is that it blinds us to the
- 3:07facts of the past, it cripples us to the acts of the present,
- 3:12and it chokes us from grasping the future.
- 3:15Yes, fear blinded them to the great wonders that God had
- 3:20performed in front of their very own eyes at Egypt and also at
- 3:26the Red Sea. Fear crippled them from acting
- 3:30upon rightly through God's word of promise, and fear choked them
- 3:36from receiving what God would give them in the future.
- 3:41Another greater danger of fear is that fear spreads and tends
- 3:46to choke the faith of the strong as well, For we read in Numbers
- 3:511410. But the whole assembly talked
- 3:55about stoning them. Stoning who?
- 3:58Stoning the very person through whom God had performed all the
- 4:02miracles, stoning Moses, Aaron, Caleb, and Joshua.
- 4:07How dangerous the fear is. Praise be to God, for God
- 4:13stepped in to rescue the faithful from the fearful.
- 4:17Moreover, as we read in Numbers 1421 to 23, God told Moses that
- 4:28the people who were gripped with fear, the people who were
- 4:31against God, will not enter the land of promise.
- 4:36Friends, people with fear are not defeated by the external
- 4:41enemies, other kings, but the enemy within them defeated them
- 4:47and snatched them away from the promised land.
- 4:50Fear snatched them away from the promised land.
- 4:55On the other hand, people with faith became conquerors as God
- 5:01promised in Numbers 1424. Today, as people of faith, we
- 5:09need to understand that we cannot have faith and fear
- 5:13together in our hearts. Faith and fear cannot travel
- 5:17together. Either we should have faith or
- 5:21fear, not both. Faith dispels fear or as the
- 5:27fear enters, the faith is silence.
- 5:29To the Cartner Dear Church, we are called to be the people of
- 5:33faith, not of fear. The challenge that you have is
- 5:37real. The problem that you go through
- 5:40could be real, and the danger that shows up could be very real
- 5:44in your life. However, if the God has promised
- 5:48us to give, then nothing will stop us from receiving it except
- 5:53fear. The 10, even though they were
- 5:57chosen, they choked due to fear. The two, even though the
- 6:02opposition was greater, they conquered by faith.
- 6:07Fear blinds, fear cripples, and fear chokes, but faith conquers.
- 6:16Let's be the people of faith, and let's be more than
- 6:19conquerors. Through His word and through His
- 6:22mighty power, Let's pray. O Lord Almighty, thank you for
- 6:27speaking with us. Help us, Lord, that we will be
- 6:31people of faith like Caleb, not the people of fear.
- 6:36And help us, Lord, to be more than conquerors.
- 6:39Through your word of promise and with your mighty power we commit
- 6:44ourselves with your mighty hands.
- 6:46O Lord, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus, we pray.
- 6:50Amen. Thank you for listening to the
