Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. Yesterday, the New York Times ran a pretty
• 0:09
extensive piece about Jeffrey Epstein and how he was able
• 0:13
to put together the kind of fortune that he put together,
• 0:17
and one of the parts of the story had to
• 0:19
do with Bara Stearns and how he got that job
• 0:22
and how he kept it. But like usual, they're missing
• 0:25
a gigantic piece, and that piece, of course, is how
• 0:28
Jeffrey Epstein was able to avoid getting in trouble when
• 0:32
the walls started to close in at Barra Stearns. So
• 0:36
in this episode, we're going to stick to what the
• 0:38
New York Times had to say as far as him
• 0:41
lying on his resume and as far as him dating
• 0:44
the boss's daughter. And in the next episode we'll get
• 0:48
deeper into the weeds on how Jeffrey Epstein was able
• 0:51
to avoid legal trouble when just about everybody else wasn't.
• 0:55
But first things first. This article was published by The
• 0:58
New York Post and the headline Jeffrey Epstein kept Barri
• 1:02
Stern's job despite lying on resume while he was dating
• 1:05
the boss's daughter. This article was authored by Ariel Zilber,
• 1:11
Jeffrey Epstein managed to keep his job at Wall Street
• 1:14
giant bear Stearns after he was caught lying about his resume,
• 1:17
thanks in part to his romantic relationship with a daughter
• 1:21
of one of the firm's most powerful executives, according to
• 1:24
a report, And as you know, if you get caught
• 1:26
lying on your resume, that usually means you're not going
• 1:29
to get the job, or if you do get the job,
• 1:31
you're going to be fired. But when it comes to Epstein,
• 1:35
no big deal, Just some fell dass math teacher that
• 1:38
shows up and all of a sudden he's some kind
• 1:40
of tighten on Wall Street. The whole entire story has
• 1:43
stunk from the very beginning, and the fact that people
• 1:46
are just catching on is wild as hell. None of
• 1:49
this was the secret. Everybody knew about Jeffrey Epstein's job
• 1:52
over at Bari Stearns, how he got that job, how
• 1:54
he kept that job. But all of a sudden, it's
• 1:57
a gigantic story in the New York Times. Where were
• 2:00
they five years ago? Oh, that's right, they were in
• 2:03
bed with Epstein via Landon Thomas. That's where they were.
• 2:06
Instead of doing hard hitting pieces on how this whole
• 2:09
entire thing was a gigantic shit show. They were carrying
• 2:13
water for not only Jeffrey Epstein, but for the powers
• 2:16
that be Epstein was just twenty three when he was
• 2:21
hired as a junior trader at Baris Stearns in nineteen
• 2:23
seventy six, despite having no college degree or a Wall
• 2:27
Street experience. Must be nice, huh. Imagine you walked into
• 2:31
one of these firms and tried to get a job.
• 2:34
I'm sure that they would be very receptive to that.
• 2:37
Around the same time, he began dating Lynn Greenberg, the
• 2:40
twenty year old daughter of Ace Greenberg, a senior executive
• 2:43
who would go on to become the firm CEO two
• 2:46
years later. I am sure that everything was on the
• 2:50
up and up that mister Greenberg had no idea that
• 2:53
Jeffrey Epstein was a scumbag. I mean, that's what I'll
• 2:57
tell you, and obviously we can't prove any differently. But
• 3:01
come on, why are you hiring this dude who has
• 3:04
no degree, no background on Wall Street, nothing like that,
• 3:07
But you're gonna give him a job as a junior trader?
• 3:10
Is that what I can expect if I park my
• 3:13
money in one of these funds? Some jerk off like
• 3:16
Jeffrey Epstein managing it well. Unfortunately, the answer is yes,
• 3:20
that's exactly what you can expect. I mean, maybe not
• 3:24
handling your money directly, but somewhere in the chain of things,
• 3:27
there's some scumbag assuredly handling your money. Well. Epstein was
• 3:32
dating Greenberg's daughter. Bear Stearns employees discovered that he had
• 3:35
falsely claimed on his resume to have earned degrees from
• 3:38
two California universities, neither of which had any record of
• 3:42
him ever attending, according to The New York Times, And
• 3:46
wouldn't that be enough right then and there to can
• 3:48
your bitch ass. Imagine if you lied on your resume
• 3:51
to get a job, and then your boss finds out
• 3:54
that you lied, you're gonna get fired. I don't care
• 3:57
if you're dating the boss's daughter or whatever. Gonna get canned.
• 4:01
Not Jeffrey Epstein. And this is something that would happen
• 4:05
time and time again throughout his life. Even when he
• 4:07
got caught doing things that were out of bounds, things
• 4:11
that were illegal, he was able to skate. And there's
• 4:15
only one way that that happens, especially how many times
• 4:18
that happened with Epstein. It's obvious that he was being protected.
• 4:23
The question is by who. Well, in my opinion, this
• 4:27
is exactly where it started. I think that Epstein was
• 4:30
flipped by the FBI at bear Stearns and then farmed
• 4:33
out to the CIA, and from there Epstein was off
• 4:36
and running. Dude became a free agent and was working
• 4:40
for various different groups, including CIA, Masad gru over in
• 4:46
Russia probably you know, the MI six, certainly the saudiast
• 4:52
and the list goes on and on and on. So
• 4:55
there's no doubt in my mind that Epstein was being
• 4:57
run by some off the book Black operation. And if
• 5:03
you think that the CIA isn't still engaging in that
• 5:06
kind of shit, you're crazy. They most certainly are, whether
• 5:08
it's Epstein, whether it's running drugs, whether it's engaging in
• 5:12
color revolutions all over the world, they're up to no good.
• 5:16
When confronted by a supervisor, Epstein admitted that he lied
• 5:19
about his education, telling the executive that without impressive credentials,
• 5:24
nobody would give me a chance. The Times reported, well, yeah,
• 5:27
that's the whole point. If you don't have the credentials,
• 5:30
you don't get the job. I mean, it's pretty basic, right, Now, look,
• 5:35
I get it. People lie on their resume and their
• 5:37
applications for work all the time. But bro, you got caught,
• 5:41
and once you get caught, that should be the end
• 5:43
of it for most people anyway, But not for Epstein.
• 5:47
And again, folks, look, it wasn't just this one time.
• 5:50
It was time and time again. Every time the walls
• 5:53
closed in on this dude, he was able to escape unscathed.
• 5:57
And we could write off one time, you know, as
• 6:00
lucky or him knowing how to maneuver through the legal
• 6:03
system or whatever. But time and time again, I'm sorry,
• 6:07
but I don't buy that. Despite a resume fraud that
• 6:10
would typically get a Wall Street employee fired, Epstein was
• 6:13
allowed to keep his job and was later promoted, a
• 6:16
decision that former executive later acknowledged was influenced by his
• 6:20
relationship with the boss's daughter. According to the report, So
• 6:24
not only was this dude highly unqualified for the gig,
• 6:27
but he was using nepotism to get promoted. Isn't that fantastic?
• 6:32
No wonder Baron Stearn's ended up going bust. You can't
• 6:36
run your business like this and expect things to continue
• 6:39
to tick off correctly. Eventually, you're gonna get clipped. The
• 6:44
only question is who's going to be left holding the bag,
• 6:47
And no matter where he was, it was never Jeffrey Epstein.
• 6:52
The relationship was reportedly facilitated by a Screenberg himself. Now
• 6:57
think about that for a minute. You're pimping out your daughter,
• 7:00
basically to Epstein boy Father of the Year award. According
• 7:04
to The Times, the bear Sterns executive seated Epstein next
• 7:07
to his daughter at a dinner party, a move that
• 7:10
Lynn Greenberg later suspected was intentional. Play a matchmaker over here?
• 7:15
What is this the fucking fiddler on the roof? Let
• 7:17
me sit my daughter next to this weirdo who I
• 7:20
know is a liar and try and hook her up. Look, folks,
• 7:23
I've told you from the jump that the only kind
• 7:25
of sin that these people take seriously is the sin
• 7:29
of being poor. You can get away with anything else.
• 7:31
You can say whatever you want, do whatever you want,
• 7:34
act however you want, as long as you have dough.
• 7:39
Michael Tannenbaum, Epstein's supervisor at the time, told The Times
• 7:42
that the junior trader admitted to fraud when he confronted him.
• 7:47
Admitted to fraud when he was confronted, Nothing happened, continue
• 7:51
to work there, got promoted, just kept moving up the ladder.
• 7:55
Just a typical day on Wall Street. Folks, you lied
• 7:58
about your education, Tannin Bamb told Epstein, Yes, I know,
• 8:01
Epstein replied, calmly, without an impressive degree or too. Epstein said,
• 8:05
I knew nobody would give me a chance. Tannenbaumb later
• 8:09
described being disarmed by Epstein's admission and said he agreed
• 8:12
to give them a second chance. Well, better you than me.
• 8:17
If I had a firm like this and you lied
• 8:19
about your qualifications, or you lied about anything, I'm firing you.
• 8:23
You're handling other people's money. Bro. You can't be some scumbag.
• 8:28
I know they all are. But in a perfect world,
• 8:31
  if I know you're a scumbag and you're handling people's
• 8:33
money for my company, you're fired. Not even a question,
• 8:37
not a debate, And I don't care who your girlfriend is.
• 8:41
That's not going to save you. But at bear Stearns,
• 8:44
Well it most certainly did. Decades later, Tannenbomb expressed regret
• 8:50
for not firing Epstein. I didn't realize that I was
• 8:52
creating one of the monsters of Wall Street, he told
• 8:55
the Times, and look anyway you chop it, he most
• 8:58
certainly did create one of the monsters of Wall Street
• 9:01
are at least helped Without bear Stearns, Epstein never is
• 9:04
able to do the things that he did. This was
• 9:07
the launch point, right, This is how he cut his teeth,
• 9:10
made his bones, met everybody that he was going to
• 9:13
end up being in business with at some point, and
• 9:15
this is where he figured out that he could manipulate
• 9:17
the financial system in a way that would bring him
• 9:21
great wealth. Even if Tannenbaum wanted to fire Epstein, it's
• 9:25
unclear he would have been able to give in that
• 9:28
the relationship with Lynn Greenberg gave the junior trader protected
• 9:32
status at the firm. According to The Times, well, yeah,
• 9:35
when you're dating the boss's daughter, that usually gives you
• 9:38
some sort of protection, right under normal circumstances, depending on
• 9:41
what you're getting up to, depending on what you're doing.
• 9:45
But something like this, it shouldn't matter who the boss's
• 9:48
daughter is and who's dating her. If you get caught
• 9:51
doing something like this, lying whatever, you're gone. Word spread
• 9:55
within the company of Epstein's relationship with Lynn Greenberg. The
• 9:59
Times reported the relationship eventually fizzled. Lynn Greenberg later told
• 10:04
The Times that she came to the conclusion that Epstein
• 10:07
lied about everything. Well, no shit, I don't know if
• 10:11
there's ever been a bigger liar on the whole last planet.
• 10:14
Maybe Glenn Maxwell, but Jeffrey Epstein certainly in the running.
• 10:18
Ace Greenberg died in July of twenty fourteen. He was
• 10:21
eighty six. Lynn Greenberg declined to comment when reached by
• 10:25
The Post. A representative for the Epstein estate was not
• 10:28
immediately available for comment. Epstein escaped from punishment would become
• 10:33
a pattern. In nineteen eighty bear Stearns named him a
• 10:37
limited partner, one rung below full partner, despite lingering concerns
• 10:41
about his conduct. According to The Times, and here is
• 10:44
what I'm talking about. They only touch on this. They
• 10:48
don't go deeper into why Jeffrey Epstein was able to
• 10:51
avoid all this trouble. But in the next episode we're
• 10:55
going to touch on it a bit. The report detailed
• 10:59
several instances of allegedmisconduct by Epstein while at Barristerns, including
• 11:04
charging the company more than ten thousand dollars that he
• 11:06
spent on jewelry and clothing for a girlfriend In nineteen eighty. Well,
• 11:11
Jeffrey Epstein loved to use other people's money. We all
• 11:13
know that. Despite the fact that Epstein was flagged for
• 11:17
improper spending, he was not punished, according to the Times.
• 11:21
The report also stated that Bearristerns executives knew that Epstein
• 11:24
gave his girlfriend access to hot stock trades linked to
• 11:27
clients just prior to them going public on the stock exchange,
• 11:32
a major violation of investment banking rules. Well, how about
• 11:36
that all that going on in Epstein somehow is able
• 11:40
to avoid trouble. I guess he's just a real lucky guy.
• 11:43
I guess that's the truth of the matter. And you know,
• 11:46
everything else is just crazy, right right. Epstein also lent
• 11:51
fifteen thousand dollars to a high school friend that also
• 11:54
violated federal rules governing brokers, according to The Times. When
• 11:59
the company conducted an investigation into the personal loan and
• 12:03
the IPO shares, Epstein denied wrongdoing, saying that he was
• 12:06
deeply offended at the suggestion that he broke the rules.
• 12:10
After management find them twenty five hundred dollars and suspended
• 12:14
them for two months, Epstein resigned, ending a five year
• 12:17
tenure at the company. Bear Stearns ceased to exist after
• 12:22
it collapsed in March of two thousand and eight, a
• 12:24
victim of the crisis that was set off by subprime
• 12:27
mortgage securities. Its assets were eventually absorbed by JP Morgan Chase.
• 12:32
Oh well, I'm sure that's a coincidence too, right, Sure
• 12:35
Epstein had nothing to do with that. Epstein would continue
• 12:38
to trade on his Barristerns pedigree long after his departure.
• 12:42
Former colleagues maintained friendships with them and introduced them to
• 12:46
new clients, relationships that would prove extraordinarily lucrative. According to
• 12:50
The Times, his tenure at barri Stearns helped them become
• 12:54
a wealthy financier pedophile who used his money and connections
• 12:58
to oversee a long running stax trafficking operation that preyed
• 13:02
on underage girls, recruiting, grooming, and abusing dozens of victims
• 13:07
over the years. Dozens. Trump's own Justice Department set at
• 13:10
least a thousand where you getting dozens from? Epstein was
• 13:15
first convicted in two thousand and eight on state prostitution
• 13:18
charges involving a minor after securing a widely criticized plea
• 13:22
deal then arrested again in twenty nineteen on federal sex
• 13:26
trafficking charges, to which he pleaded not guilty. Epstein died
• 13:30
in August of twenty nineteen in a Manhattan jel cell
• 13:33
while awaiting trial, in a death rule the suicide by hanging.
• 13:38
All right, So this isn't a news story. This is
• 13:41
something that we've known for quite some time. But now
• 13:44
that The New York Times is running it, maybe more
• 13:46
people are going to pay attention, and maybe some more
• 13:49
people are going to come forward about their dealings with
• 13:52
Epstein through this period. Because there's no way in hell
• 13:56
that Jeffrey Epstein was just lucky. There's no way in
• 13:59
hell that Jeffrey Epstein was able to just keep his
• 14:02
head down and avoid trouble. That's not how it works.
• 14:06
So that's why when I talk about the Epstein files,
• 14:09
I'm talking about things like the three to two reports,
• 14:12
things that will give us an idea of who and
• 14:15
what Jeffrey Epstein really was and who he was working for.
• 14:19
And that's exactly the kind of information they've been trying
• 14:22
to keep secret all these years, and that's why they
• 14:25
continue to fight tooth and nail to keep the files sealed,
• 14:28
so we'll see what we get on Friday. But I
• 14:32
have a very funny feeling we're not going to get
• 14:34
anything close to the three twos. But that's a conversation
• 14:38
for a different time. As far as this one goes,
• 14:41
that's going to do it. All of the information that
• 14:44
goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
