- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm Lani as part of the Odd Pops Media Network.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Welcome, Hey, how you doing?
- 0:28Speaker 3: I'm all right? How you doing?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Welcome to Miami over here, I'm walking here. Hey, I'm
- 0:36Speaker 2: in a speedo doing cocaine. It's Miami.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Look at the cold chain and my chest hair?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah? Wait? What what?
- 0:47Speaker 3: Hey? Guys? What's up with us? As always as Kristen.
- 0:51Speaker 3: She's not talking to us because we're doing weird Old
- 0:53Speaker 3: Men on the Beach.
- 0:54Speaker 1: But I'm just not as good voices.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Sorry, doesn't she doesn't play with us?
- 0:59Speaker 3: That's cool? Also with us here today the one the
- 1:02Speaker 3: only Bill manners bail, Oh, change up?
- 1:15Speaker 2: He came back back?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Bill, I'm always surprised, right when someone comes back for
- 1:19Speaker 3: another episode.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm not. We schedule them together.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Well, Plus, I think Bill feels an obligation because he
- 1:28Speaker 1: does other podcasts with you, so he doesn't want to
- 1:31Speaker 1: burn that bridge, so he feels emotionally obligated.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well, I showed up on enough of his. He felt like, Hey,
- 1:37Speaker 2: I shouldn't get to do one of yours. Yeah, you
- 1:41Speaker 2: annoy me every week.
- 1:45Speaker 3: We keep teasing you about it. And it's not because
- 1:47Speaker 3: we don't like you, but like you just kept showing up, man,
- 1:50Speaker 3: like you're Gina's gonna get the job at the end
- 1:54Speaker 3: of the day because she just keeps like putting in
- 1:57Speaker 3: the effort, right, like put in the work. I barely
- 2:00Speaker 3: give a ship like about anything I do anymore because
- 2:03Speaker 3: I'm so busy at the time, and Gina is this
- 2:05Speaker 3: like quiet young person, slowly leave everything in my life.
- 2:14Speaker 3: And Gina's like, Hi, what are you doing?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Well? It started when I didn't have a job, and
- 2:18Speaker 2: now I have a part time job, so I was like,
- 2:20Speaker 2: I was bored. I was like, what are you guys watching?
- 2:24Speaker 1: She said, unpaid intern that's looking for that full time position.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Right the dollar signs Bill's podcast.
- 2:34Speaker 4: No longer, it's going to say Gina Scabaretty and then
- 2:38Speaker 4: slowly Aaron Scabaretti, and Aaron's just going to disappear.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We did say I was gonna talented mister Ripley her.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Yeah, awesome, awesome. Also like I would wholeheartedly just quit,
- 2:51Speaker 3: like you don't have to kill me, but that's not
- 2:54Speaker 3: I'm just saying like if it's like no, I'm saying,
- 2:58Speaker 3: if the choice is is Gina has to murder me
- 3:02Speaker 3: or I quit, I'll just quit. Right, you don't have
- 3:06Speaker 3: to kill me. My body is try. I need an adult.
- 3:15Speaker 2: We'll keep your body propped up. It's on the show.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Will I'll be taken care of because okay.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I can't. They got a hole in their heart.
- 3:33Speaker 3: You know what's funny is actually when I got back
- 3:38Speaker 3: from my last trip out to Chicago for work and
- 3:42Speaker 3: I was taking Abby back home, and my mom was like,
- 3:46Speaker 3: we we were going to offer to keep her because
- 3:50Speaker 3: she's just no trouble and we know you've got a
- 3:51Speaker 3: lot of stuff to do. And I sensed the butt, right,
- 3:58Speaker 3: and then she's like, but you know, so basically, what
- 4:04Speaker 3: bothers me about Abby bothers everyone about Abby, and that
- 4:07Speaker 3: is that she has a lot of work sometimes because
- 4:10Speaker 3: she is old and can't do things for herself anymore.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And so your parents are retired, they got the time before.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Well, my dad works, my mom, oh doesn't. My dad
- 4:21Speaker 3: loves being a sales trainer. I don't know if he'll
- 4:22Speaker 3: ever stop working. And he still does that dinner or
- 4:26Speaker 3: the mystery uh murder theater thing.
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, this is Abby is your dead body for the night.
- 4:36Speaker 2: She even has her tongue hanging.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Good job, you played that dead dog.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Anyway, so they didn't keep her.
- 4:50Speaker 3: No, But I think if I wanted to, like leverage freedom,
- 4:55Speaker 3: I could probably pawn her off at this point.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But I love after two days, you'd be like, baby girl.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing, Like I don't love what my
- 5:04Speaker 3: carpet looks like since she just like.
- 5:06Speaker 2: That deposit's gone.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yeah, But like at the same time, it's not hard
- 5:12Speaker 3: for me to wear shoes around the house. And she's
- 5:15Speaker 3: so cute. Like this morning, I loved that I had
- 5:18Speaker 3: the Indiana Jones myself out of bed because she had
- 5:21Speaker 3: decided to sleep on my shoulder, so I had to
- 5:24Speaker 3: like slide blanket between the shoulder, my shoulder and her
- 5:30Speaker 3: and then fill it in with a pillow. How I
- 5:33Speaker 3: got out of bed when I had to peek and
- 5:36Speaker 3: then when I get back, Yeah, and then I came
- 5:40Speaker 3: back to take her outside, and I think we did
- 5:42Speaker 3: talk about this last week, right, but she was just
- 5:44Speaker 3: like I'm gonna take a nap in this bark mother,
- 5:48Speaker 3: Like fuck, the problem is it's been it's been hot,
- 5:54Speaker 3: it's been cold. Our weather is like halving some sort
- 5:57Speaker 3: of a manic depressive episode now like fake summer. Yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 3: it was like ninety four and then the very next
- 6:05Speaker 3: day it was like seventy and now today I think
- 6:08Speaker 3: the high is going to be like sixty four. I
- 6:11Speaker 3: think it's said and it's raining.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So she just outside.
- 6:15Speaker 3: It was like, I don't want any of the I
- 6:19Speaker 3: was asleep.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Mom, this is bullshit.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Ninety four.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think next my beer, I'm sure I
- 6:27Speaker 2: can top that.
- 6:28Speaker 3: By next week it's going to be ninety something. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 3: I don't understand.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Ninety three at the moment feels like one oh three.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 4: We're going from the seventies this week into next week
- 6:41Speaker 4: will be I think all nineties with the heat index
- 6:46Speaker 4: up into the one hundreds.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yea. My next work trip is going to be one
- 6:51Speaker 3: of two places, the Sun, Arizona or no, I'm sorry.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I think I'm going to Butler, Pennsylvania first, but then
- 7:01Speaker 3: right after I get back from PA, my next work
- 7:03Speaker 3: trip is going to be either the Sun or or
- 7:07Speaker 3: what we know is Arizona or uh Tampa, but who knows.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I literally find out like a day or two before
- 7:15Speaker 3: I have to leave on most of these as it
- 7:17Speaker 3: turns out, so it's fine.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Can I get heads up so I know how to pack?
- 7:21Speaker 3: Come on, I just keep my I just keep my
- 7:23Speaker 3: suitcase in my room now with my like travel toiletries
- 7:27Speaker 3: and makeup and my travel chargers, and then I take
- 7:29Speaker 3: appropriate worktops.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Is that like Love actually and Love Island, where don't
- 7:35Speaker 2: you have to be packed if you're not coupled up
- 7:37Speaker 2: with someone you're gonna get out?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Oh no, that's that's more like the US where they're
- 7:44Speaker 3: like get the fuck out fast. Love Island UK they
- 7:47Speaker 3: make the girls go in and steal clothing for them
- 7:51Speaker 3: and pack them a bag with like their favorite eBay
- 7:54Speaker 3: closet items that won't happen here. This will be like,
- 7:59Speaker 3: oh it's nine hundred degrees cool. So those slacks in
- 8:02Speaker 3: these short sleeve shirts.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I just mean you're always packed, you're always ready to
- 8:07Speaker 2: get out.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I am. Yeah, three linen suits would serve me.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Well.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Guys, Global warmings real. Don't listen to other people that.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Say it's not.
- 8:19Speaker 3: This is crazy? All right? What's anyone got going on?
- 8:24Speaker 3: That's not me? I feel like I've been talking too much.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I have a condo flooded again in California.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'm sorry. Can you please talk about that?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Because I think the last message I read from you
- 8:35Speaker 3: was that there's pa and poop in the wall.
- 8:39Speaker 2: The upstairs toilet apparently the drain that comes down and
- 8:44Speaker 2: that pipe goes behind the kitchen wall apparently has cracks
- 8:49Speaker 2: up at the top in the bottom and the Originally
- 8:54Speaker 2: they're like, oh, it's caked and p and poop, And
- 8:56Speaker 2: then when they went in there and got in the
- 8:59Speaker 2: walls and like, well, nobody was living here for a
- 9:01Speaker 2: couple months, so mostly it was just clear, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 2: water dripping down. So I don't know how long this
- 9:09Speaker 2: problem existed. But the plumber got in there yesterday and
- 9:13Speaker 2: fixed it. Fixed it all. Now we're just gotta do
- 9:17Speaker 2: the you know, restoring it process. But we got a
- 9:21Speaker 2: new toilet, new pipes.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Now your your buyers are gone, right, like you have
- 9:27Speaker 3: to realist this now or where the buyer?
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, the buyers, We were at the finish line, but
- 9:33Speaker 2: that has nothing to do with it. That was the
- 9:35Speaker 2: hoa short on reserves. So while we were waiting for
- 9:40Speaker 2: them to get their head out their butts, we had
- 9:43Speaker 2: listed with a rental property management and like the day
- 9:49Speaker 2: that plumber came is when they got their lock box
- 9:52Speaker 2: on there and swapped it out. So then like the
- 9:54Speaker 2: plumber was locked out at one point, it was ridiculous.
- 10:02Speaker 2: The HOA hired a plumber nobody could like, I couldn't
- 10:05Speaker 2: get a hold of him. He never I never heard back.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So I just hired my own. I'm glad I did
- 10:10Speaker 2: because Hoa's plumber said, it's just a faulty toilet lange
- 10:13Speaker 2: and there's no water damage. And the other guy was like,
- 10:16Speaker 2: know this entire back wall, Like if I pushed, I
- 10:19Speaker 2: could push through the drywall. It's soaked.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's like, fuck, that sounds like the worst. HOA they
- 10:26Speaker 1: have a shitty plumber. They don't, they're not properly reserved, like.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Well, I think they just hire someone who knows who
- 10:36Speaker 2: they hire out.
- 10:36Speaker 3: You know, now is your coverage so ensurance, oh coverage?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Do you cover walls in for your if it's If
- 10:46Speaker 2: it's it's your responsibility. So that yeah, unfortunately it's on us.
- 10:53Speaker 2: If it was shared pipes, it's but unfortunately it's not
- 10:58Speaker 2: the good news and like last year is it didn't
- 11:00Speaker 2: leak into the neighbors unit, So we're good there. It's
- 11:04Speaker 2: just us. So yeah, peepe poo poo all gone. Well, no,
- 11:09Speaker 2: that's not gone. Well, the pipes are fixed.
- 11:13Speaker 3: In my head, your wall had just become full of like.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Well that's what he had said. I thought it like exploded.
- 11:21Speaker 2: But it's like you look at the at the picture
- 11:23Speaker 2: and it's just like a crack. You can just see
- 11:25Speaker 2: down it and the stuff around it.
- 11:28Speaker 4: What's up probably drying now, so it's becoming less now
- 11:32Speaker 4: that they stop the water.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So but yeah, but are they they're replacing that dry
- 11:37Speaker 1: wall right.
- 11:39Speaker 2: That that was in the wall. Yes, they'll dry it out.
- 11:43Speaker 2: They'll put mold killing stuff to replace it. That that's
- 11:48Speaker 2: the restoration side of it. Not the plumber has to fix.
- 11:51Speaker 1: The products considered blackwater, and so you want to make
- 11:55Speaker 1: sure it's properly handled.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Some mold doesn't grow. Yeah, but there was a beast,
- 12:02Speaker 2: there was the drain, and then there was a perpendicular
- 12:05Speaker 2: little copper. They said it was for cold water, and
- 12:09Speaker 2: it was like rubbing and applying pressure. So like was
- 12:13Speaker 2: also cracked on the bottom. So it's like he's like,
- 12:16Speaker 2: but I don't know, good luck proving that that the
- 12:18Speaker 2: like it was built in correctly, you know, and it's California.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I could have shifted in an earthquake, yeah, so who knows.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So it's just tons of fun owning property guys.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, renting for light.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And h oas, I think I will avoid if I can.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Yeah, poverty is no hoas.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Do you have an h A bill? No?
- 12:46Speaker 3: No, yeah No.
- 12:47Speaker 4: That was when we went shopping for this house. I
- 12:51Speaker 4: was like, there's no way we're doing an HOA because
- 12:53Speaker 4: even in two thousand and three you would hear horror stories.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I think condos you're kind of like locked in.
- 13:01Speaker 2: So we'll just ye not do that.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Back back in bougier times of the Scabaretties, we were
- 13:11Speaker 3: not allowed. My mom and dad at one point built
- 13:15Speaker 3: like a house. It was like a track home, but
- 13:18Speaker 3: it was a bougie track home where you picked every
- 13:21Speaker 3: individual detail yourself inside, like you cussed and built the
- 13:24Speaker 3: tiles and stuff. It was a beautiful, beautiful house. Definitely
- 13:30Speaker 3: in an area that increased in value in so cal Oh.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I was gonna say what area of the country, So it.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Was in Yeah, it was in Seemi Valley and it
- 13:40Speaker 3: wasn't quite I think it was just under a million
- 13:43Speaker 3: when they got it, but now it's like almost a
- 13:45Speaker 3: two million house. I think property increase and stuff. That
- 13:50Speaker 3: said my mom all, my mom wanted in that house
- 13:55Speaker 3: for her front yard. Was a dry rock creek bed
- 13:59Speaker 3: like a dry creek, and she got that, but she
- 14:02Speaker 3: wanted it to have white birch trees. And because two
- 14:05Speaker 3: other neighbors that had moved in slightly before us had
- 14:08Speaker 3: white white birch trees on the street, my mom was
- 14:13Speaker 3: not allowed to plant white birch because it was going
- 14:15Speaker 3: to affect the esthetics. She had to choose from other trees.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I don't have so many in a row.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you couldn't have too many on one street. There
- 14:27Speaker 3: had to be a beautiful mix of foliage. And so
- 14:30Speaker 3: I see that's the shit.
- 14:31Speaker 2: It's like why I get where it's like, you don't
- 14:34Speaker 2: you can't have an old boat on your property that again.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but like some hoas just take it that extra
- 14:41Speaker 3: fucking step, right. I mean, there's a whole set of
- 14:44Speaker 3: Hallmark movies about it.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Is it really?
- 14:47Speaker 3: I can't remember what they're actually called now, but it's
- 14:49Speaker 3: Christmas themed. There's two or three of them. There's two
- 14:52Speaker 3: and then there's a third one about Halloween. And it's
- 14:54Speaker 3: like a community where like if you move in and
- 14:57Speaker 3: you don't fucking decorate, you get written up by the HOA.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we need an h o A horror movie. Oh,
- 15:06Speaker 2: taking your revenge on the stupid rules.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Ooh, plants a arch tree in the mouth of a
- 15:14Speaker 3: dead lady.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Haron Amalani, we reserve all ideas rights.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Thank you, Legal Department, pat and pending.
- 15:27Speaker 3: That's that's enough silliness, because now we've got an h
- 15:30Speaker 3: o A and a horror movie. Don't forget, we've got
- 15:33Speaker 3: risk managed right. Fuck up my loss ratios, Fuck up
- 15:40Speaker 3: your face. My commission goes down, you go down in
- 15:48Speaker 3: the ground.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I think the only house Horror Story Bill had was
- 15:52Speaker 2: his dogs chewed up as gutters.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, that's pretty shitty.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I mean nothing massive.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I mean, no pipes have exploded.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I've had backed up pipes because the my house is
- 16:08Speaker 4: about fifty feet wide and the kitchen's on one side
- 16:12Speaker 4: and out the drains.
- 16:14Speaker 2: How widest houses. That's such a guy thing.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Like, Well, I've had a measure for gutter square footage.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry, I got the.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Approximate square footage, but it's all the way on to
- 16:31Speaker 4: the other side. And I had a garbage disposal and
- 16:35Speaker 4: fifty feet is a long way for hot water not
- 16:37Speaker 4: to cool. Yeah, and it's just every couple of years
- 16:42Speaker 4: I have to run a snake or drain cleaner and
- 16:44Speaker 4: hot or do hot water treatments through it to get
- 16:48Speaker 4: it to stay unclogged.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Are you on like a public sewer or you have
- 16:53Speaker 2: like a slicker or water well, at least not to
- 16:56Speaker 2: worry about like some kind of what do you call
- 17:00Speaker 2: all that? We're backs up because it's just your.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Own Yeah, my parents had to have theirs drained.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, right, because you can only like, like.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You can't see more than a couple of loads of
- 17:15Speaker 2: laundry in one day.
- 17:16Speaker 4: You'll overwhel something flood because oh.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah that's Midwestern. Yeah, during storms you'll hear it's like
- 17:25Speaker 2: oh yeah, and you're like, what is that? Oh yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 2: hey it's better than it not working.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Yeah sure, sure, yeah, I mean obviously, but back up,
- 17:38Speaker 3: you gotta test.
- 17:39Speaker 2: It every now.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Yeah, everything's on pallets in our basement unless it's in
- 17:42Speaker 4: a tope.
- 17:44Speaker 2: That's smart.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Well, after three or four times of it flooding.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, finally learned, but you learned.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Yeah, like, yeah, that's it's happy.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I know I don't have a basement, but I've always
- 18:03Speaker 3: thought a basement would be a nice place to put
- 18:06Speaker 3: a pizza oven m.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Ventilation.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe outside I've thought about buying one of those,
- 18:15Speaker 2: like one of those brick ones, so you don't have
- 18:19Speaker 2: a pizza, a smoker and had a regular oven.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I thank you, I have no more questions.
- 18:26Speaker 2: All right, see you later. It's so cute.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking cute.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Yeah, what a?
- 18:37Speaker 3: What a? Why don't we talk about this cute episode?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Cute old ladies? All right? Season four, episode two, we're
- 18:45Speaker 2: really doing it Season four.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Next thing, you know, we're gonna be on the Empty
- 18:50Speaker 3: Nest maybe or Benson Golden Palace. So Golden Palace. Yeah, sorry,
- 18:55Speaker 3: I totally skipped Golden Palace.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I was just trying to get to everyone tries to
- 18:59Speaker 2: her hair a bastard child.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Uh.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Season four, episode two is called The Days and Nights
- 19:05Speaker 2: of Sophia Patrollo. Original air date October twenty second, nineteen
- 19:10Speaker 2: eighty eight. Director was Terry Hughes. Writers were Kathy Spear
- 19:15Speaker 2: and Terry Grossman. It kind of says what it is,
- 19:19Speaker 2: But what do you think the Days and Nights of
- 19:20Speaker 2: Sophia Patrillo will be about?
- 19:23Speaker 4: I actually kind of remember this episode.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Oh well, let Kristen guests first, and then you tell them.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Well, she's a mom and wife by day and a
- 19:34Speaker 1: cocktail lounge singer.
- 19:36Speaker 2: At night, she's she's whose wife.
- 19:40Speaker 1: It's the story of her life during she's a.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Mom and oh, you mean when she was younger.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and then she's like a singer at a cocktail lounge.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I see, I see.
- 19:52Speaker 4: No.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I like that. It's her. You get to see her
- 19:55Speaker 2: without doing it again. I like that, Bill, what do
- 19:58Speaker 2: you what do you remember?
- 19:59Speaker 4: I this is the one where I think she meets
- 20:02Speaker 4: the kid when she's volunteering at the hospital, the younger boy.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Maybe correct. I don't know if we should give anything away.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I don't know what the answer is.
- 20:19Speaker 2: We will say nothing.
- 20:22Speaker 3: You will ask nothing.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Who do you think the villain will be. We're the
- 20:28Speaker 2: hardest villain to prove.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I want to say Rose, Yeah, only because Dorothy is
- 20:34Speaker 1: easy to make a villain when it's anything relating to her.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Mother, Rose Nylon.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I think Ross would be a good yeah.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of Lindstrom, I.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Would say, because I'm unclear on what is coming that
- 20:54Speaker 3: I can't say what I think i'd like to.
- 20:57Speaker 2: You know, I know what's.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Coming, I know, but I want to I and I
- 21:02Speaker 3: want to say that illness is the anyway, that's fine, Well,
- 21:08Speaker 3: we don't.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Pick that, we pick one of the girls.
- 21:11Speaker 3: No, I know, I just sleep fel.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Haven't you seen this show?
- 21:18Speaker 1: Well, Aaron cries and pulls herself together. Listen to these
- 21:24Speaker 1: ads and we'll watch the show and we'll get right

- 22:07Speaker 2: You made it, you found us, you kept listening.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yeah, So what do you think of this episode? Guys?
- 22:18Speaker 4: I liked it.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I thought it was really cute.
- 22:20Speaker 2: They were definitely trying to like write something like with
- 22:25Speaker 2: a message, so you know, it was like the metaphors
- 22:31Speaker 2: and the Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 1: You don't always know what other people are doing with
- 22:36Speaker 1: their time.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and their day.
- 22:37Speaker 3: You know.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It wasn't just like the last episode. It was like
- 22:41Speaker 2: this one. They were trying to do something meaningful.
- 22:44Speaker 3: M hm, well, I mean there was that really sweet
- 22:47Speaker 3: moment where we had a little nod to what I guess,
- 22:51Speaker 3: based on the year, was the Eighth Crisis, right? Yeah?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Did they did they say what he had, but I
- 23:00Speaker 2: mean it was implied.
- 23:01Speaker 3: He talked about the blood transfusion. Yeah, it would have
- 23:05Speaker 3: to either be AIDS or maybe some sort of a
- 23:07Speaker 3: hepatitis situation. But I'm guessing based on the year, it
- 23:13Speaker 3: was AIDS. But they didn't really like say it.
- 23:16Speaker 4: There was a lot of heart in this episode.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Yeah, god have thank God you really need what?
- 23:26Speaker 2: Thank God? She keeps bringing him fruit he doesn't enjoy. Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 2: and I was like, what gotta be one he likes.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I hate negarines. That's why you have ad this little boy,
- 23:37Speaker 3: because you don't eat negarines. That was that. That was.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Maybe it's scurvy, maybe blood transfusion.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I don't know enough about scurvy to know the answer
- 23:51Speaker 3: to that. So who knows whatever. Wow, you guys, you
- 23:59Speaker 3: guys want to we'll play a little little quiz game. Yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 3: all right, okay, hear that in the background.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I think my neighbor's mowing the lawn.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Oh okay, I.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Don't hear I don't hear it.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I don't here. I thought maybe you just heard the
- 24:15Speaker 3: sound of Kristen winning again.
- 24:17Speaker 4: And all right, playing for a second.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, all right, let's uh, let's dive into this.
- 24:27Speaker 3: This this is uh yeah, let's do it, all right.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Question one, what bus does Sophia round? Sorry? What bus
- 24:41Speaker 3: does Sophia take round trip to get her Nectarine.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Christen?
- 24:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Round on this bus? Six? All right, Kristen gets
- 24:54Speaker 3: our first point.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I didn't even write that one down.
- 25:00Speaker 3: All right, What two things? This one's two points? What
- 25:09Speaker 3: two things does plan to say she got arrested for
- 25:12Speaker 3: in Chattanooga?
- 25:18Speaker 2: I missed the first one because I was talking.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I missed the first one too.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I remember one of them?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Okay, for one point? Who remembers any of them? Bill?
- 25:35Speaker 4: She was driving topless?
- 25:37Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, okay, So we're gonna give Bill one, not
- 25:40Speaker 3: two points on that and the act. The first answer
- 25:46Speaker 3: was uh, dividing into teams and greasing her hands at
- 25:51Speaker 3: a party.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I completely missed that one.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Just one point to Bill, uh So, when they're first
- 26:03Speaker 3: talking about doing the the contact paper and the shelf
- 26:06Speaker 3: lining paper, and she says, all right, well, let's we
- 26:09Speaker 3: can divide into teams increase our hands, and Blanche says,
- 26:12Speaker 3: I got a restaurant at a party in Chattananga ones
- 26:16Speaker 3: that was yeah, when everyone decided to talk for no
- 26:19Speaker 3: apparent reason. So Bill, one point, I'm always fascinated when
- 26:28Speaker 3: I try to not talk during quiz questions because I
- 26:31Speaker 3: don't want to get accused of like skewing the game
- 26:35Speaker 3: right or distracting the guests whatever. But like, for reals,
- 26:41Speaker 3: I find it fascinating that at least once or twice
- 26:45Speaker 3: an episode, no matter what, someone starts talking exactly when
- 26:50Speaker 3: there's like a roast story or for me, it's my
- 26:53Speaker 3: own little pleasure that I get to enjoy watching the
- 26:56Speaker 3: show with you guys, because I'm always like, I want
- 26:59Speaker 3: to be like shut up and said, you're missing a question. Anyway,
- 27:04Speaker 3: All right, let's rease that buzzer. Let's go on to
- 27:07Speaker 3: our next question. This is gonna get me in trouble.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I knew it. When I wrote it. But how much
- 27:13Speaker 3: are the cantalopes at the grocery store?
- 27:17Speaker 6: Kristen sixty nine cents? Oh no, sorry, that's the Florida
- 27:23Speaker 6: grapefruit price and the apples and the apples.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Yeah, then it was I know it.
- 27:29Speaker 4: That's okay, I know what the bananas were.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Okay. No one else buzzed in, So I guess if
- 27:34Speaker 3: you want to try to go again, you could tell
- 27:38Speaker 3: me what you think. The second price.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Is the nine cents?
- 27:45Speaker 3: No, okay, this is my point. Then they were twenty
- 27:49Speaker 3: five cents. I was fascinated by it because the canalopes
- 27:53Speaker 3: are twenty five cents and the everything else was more.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And I was like, a canalope is disgusting, but it's
- 27:59Speaker 3: like a whole mellow. Why would you be paying so
- 28:01Speaker 3: much more for anything smaller? But okay, all right, so
- 28:05Speaker 3: that's a me point. How exciting? All right? You? Whoo?
- 28:11Speaker 3: All right, guys, here's a good one for you. Is
- 28:14Speaker 3: there a cup in the water and ice dispenser of
- 28:17Speaker 3: the fridge in this episode? Kristen? No, correct, they used it. Yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 3: there was no cup this time. Wow. I was like,
- 28:32Speaker 3: look how clean and empty that is? Yeah, got a
- 28:37Speaker 3: bad attention. Everything that's fit me. I didn't see the
- 28:43Speaker 3: cup either, Gina ite, okay, thank you. It's because we're
- 28:47Speaker 3: so short, we probably couldn't see it. I couldn't see it,
- 28:50Speaker 3: all right. Next question, what is the name of Blanche's
- 28:54Speaker 3: bow with the basset hound ears Kristen, Preston, Bovilla ugen
- 29:03Speaker 3: Villa Blake the plant. Yeah, it's spelled bougon.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But it yeah, it is you and your fancy friench whatever.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Like you got the fucking point.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Okay, yep, that's it.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, obviously that the entire world has been calling
- 29:26Speaker 3: that plant the wrong thing in whole life. All right? Uh, okay,
- 29:32Speaker 3: do you want to give the scores? It's a rare
- 29:34Speaker 3: occurrence here, but I have a point. But guess who doesn't.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Gina has zero pants, Aaron and Bill have one.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I have three? Doing it all right? Next question,
- 29:47Speaker 3: according to Dorothy, what big floppy organ did Preston have?
- 29:53Speaker 4: Mm?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Kristen pancreous.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Dang?
- 30:00Speaker 3: All right? Next step, what song is the cute Little
- 30:04Speaker 3: Old Lady band playing? The second time they play?
- 30:09Speaker 1: Kristen when the Saints go marching in?
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:14Speaker 2: That was very yeah, Peppy, I.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Love that song.
- 30:17Speaker 1: We've played that in jazz band.
- 30:19Speaker 2: It's a good one.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Okay. Next question, picture it Saint all Off nineteen fifty five?
- 30:27Speaker 3: Who ruined Founders Day? Kristin pig Pen Johnson yep, oh right, okay.
- 30:39Speaker 3: His next question is a no stump bonus and if
- 30:41Speaker 3: you don't get it right, not my friend. What else
- 30:46Speaker 3: opened in nineteen fifty five?
- 30:51Speaker 2: Gina Disneylion yep, I knew that one.
- 30:59Speaker 3: All right, zero days? What hospital? Just you know, my
- 31:07Speaker 3: my she said, zero days. My trainees at my day
- 31:11Speaker 3: job also now are enacting these zero days without a
- 31:15Speaker 3: Disney reference joke. So yeah, anyway, next question, what is
- 31:25Speaker 3: the name of the hospital that Sophia is volunteering at?
- 31:30Speaker 2: H wow, that was a delay.
- 31:35Speaker 3: I don't understand what's literally, Kristin must be practicing her
- 31:39Speaker 3: buzzer like. No one has been even close to your
- 31:43Speaker 3: timing today. All right, Kristin, what is the answer?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Is Skiing General Hospital?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Yes?
- 31:50Speaker 1: I have spelt it during the episode.
- 31:53Speaker 2: She did. She got it right.
- 31:57Speaker 3: All right, Let's let's move on. Who was the inventor
- 32:01Speaker 3: of Harring crispies?
- 32:05Speaker 4: Mm hmm, Bill Max I couldn't spell his name fast enough,
- 32:10Speaker 4: so it was Max something.
- 32:13Speaker 3: All right, I'm allow it mostly because no one else
- 32:17Speaker 3: isn't even buzzed in yet.
- 32:19Speaker 2: It was Max Brinker Maximilion.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Okay, all right, according to Rose, what goes great with
- 32:28Speaker 3: harring crispies? Mm hmmm, Bill or Yeah, I don't think
- 32:36Speaker 3: is good with anything, but that's that's just my opinion. Yeah. Actually,
- 32:42Speaker 3: hold on, I got to add that to Rose as
- 32:44Speaker 3: the villain. I'm gonna write.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Okay, I know it's made out of beats, right, Yeah.
- 32:51Speaker 3: It's not good. It's like fermented too, maybe a little pickled.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I don't know. She's wrong. That's only now.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Remember it's a big thing on tailspin.
- 33:02Speaker 6: It was.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Why was it such a big We must rush I
- 33:08Speaker 3: guess because it's gross. Also we make fun of whatever. Look,
- 33:13Speaker 3: final question, it's not anyone's game. But let's see who
- 33:20Speaker 3: gets this one right? Last line?
- 33:22Speaker 1: What was it? Christ I bought a nectarine?
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yep, all right? What's the what's the score?
- 33:33Speaker 2: Aaron and Gina each had one?
- 33:35Speaker 1: Bill got three and I got eight.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I fucking stopped.
- 33:40Speaker 3: We're gonna have to like put Kristen on a time delay.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I would see my name and then it get pushed down.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know what happened because it reads I mean,
- 33:51Speaker 3: she's clearly clicking faster than everyone. Yeah, but it does
- 33:58Speaker 3: like shift the name. I've seen it happened. It shifts
- 34:01Speaker 3: the name, so it must capture the time that you
- 34:04Speaker 3: did it.
- 34:04Speaker 2: That's what it's supposed to do.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but then it like does Matt like it's yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 3: it's wild anyway, Look, Kristen, you won. Good job. We're
- 34:13Speaker 3: proud of you. We are our teachers pet obviously, Bill
- 34:21Speaker 3: solid effort, Man, solid effort. Then yeah, we suck Gina.
- 34:26Speaker 3: That's that's the answer is fine. You guys are amazing.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Thank you. All Right. You know what would cheer me up? Gina?
- 34:34Speaker 2: What trivia?
- 34:38Speaker 3: Yep, yep, that's it.
- 34:42Speaker 2: There's a lot of actors in this one. Francis Bay
- 34:47Speaker 2: was Claire. That was Happy Gilmour's grandma.
- 34:51Speaker 4: That's why she looked familiar.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Ye, Alan Albertini Dao is Missus Leonard. She was the
- 34:57Speaker 2: old lady and wedding singer that gives them the meatballs.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Another at the Sandler movie, David Selberg was the store manager.
- 35:04Speaker 2: He was on Star Trek Next Gen. Marion Wells was Wanda.
- 35:09Speaker 2: She was un married with children, The Dixie Bells were
- 35:12Speaker 2: the band. They made an appearance on The Carson Tonight Show.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Ruth Cohen was yes.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Oh no. I wondered if they were a real band
- 35:21Speaker 3: because they all legitimately seemed to be playing.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 2: At first it sounded like they were playing like they
- 35:26Speaker 2: weren't good, and then they actually turned it on.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Ruth Cohen was a woman shopping. She was the lady
- 35:33Speaker 2: who was the cashier at Monks at Seinfeld. You would
- 35:36Speaker 2: see her sitting there. Nick Demorrow was the clerk. He
- 35:41Speaker 2: was in Vampire in Brooklyn. I've never seen that one.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Alan Bloomfield was Abe. He was on The Wonder Ears.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Darlene Cardon is credited as Woman. She was in a
- 35:52Speaker 2: Mighty Wind. Peggy Gilbert is esther. She was also married
- 35:57Speaker 2: with children. Go Burnaby as Sam k O Kko Coco Coco.
- 36:05Speaker 3: That's not a real name. Uh.
- 36:07Speaker 2: He was on some show called Family Prayers because there
- 36:10Speaker 2: was that one. Nope, Gloria LeRoy's band member. She was
- 36:15Speaker 2: in side Nancy so when the TV was on that
- 36:19Speaker 2: they were done watching Jeopardy or whatever. The theme song,
- 36:24Speaker 2: I don't know if you caught it was the grab
- 36:26Speaker 2: that dough theme the game show they went on season three.
- 36:30Speaker 3: No, I did not that do.
- 36:35Speaker 2: They referenced Valerie Harper. She sued NBC when they fired
- 36:39Speaker 2: her and she won. Yeah, which we talked about. They've
- 36:43Speaker 2: mentioned her before. They mentioned Caesar Chavez. He was a
- 36:47Speaker 2: labor unionist and activist.
- 36:49Speaker 1: It was canceled.
- 36:51Speaker 2: He's been canceled.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he was.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yeah, oh shit, I didn't know that. Okay, good enough
- 37:00Speaker 2: recent but yeah, that's awful. She got back what like
- 37:04Speaker 2: a buck twenty for lamb chops dollars seventeen dollars seventeen.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I looked them up now and says ten to thirty
- 37:12Speaker 2: dollars a pound, Like, I don't know how she got them.
- 37:15Speaker 2: I don't think in the eighties they'd be that cheapi there.
- 37:17Speaker 3: No, yeah, I don't know.
- 37:20Speaker 2: They brought up Radio for Europe. It is a US
- 37:23Speaker 2: government funded media organization. They do several languages. They mentioned
- 37:30Speaker 2: the tragedies of Mike Douglas and Ferdinand Marcos. So I
- 37:33Speaker 2: had to look those up. That's why I ate shit
- 37:35Speaker 2: on the quiz. Mike Douglas, well that and I suck.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Mike Douglas is a singer and entertainer. He died unexpectedly
- 37:44Speaker 2: of severe dehydration, so hydrate or Diedrade. Yeah, our buddies
- 37:51Speaker 2: say Ferdinand Marcos was a promising new president of the Philippines,
- 37:58Speaker 2: got corrupted, became a dictator. He left the country in
- 38:02Speaker 2: deep poverty. Oh wow, that's all I got written here.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Unce you got anything else? So who are we talking about?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Ro Rose? I think you guys made it easy for.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Yeah, this was an easy one. We had all of
- 38:17Speaker 3: Rose's bad behaviors in one succinct chain of events. Honestly, Like,
- 38:24Speaker 3: I kept writing things down and I was like, Jesus,
- 38:27Speaker 3: everything we've ever complained about Rose about she did in
- 38:29Speaker 3: this episode. So right off the bat, Judge Mcjudgerson says
- 38:37Speaker 3: that Sophia's life is sad. Fuck you, you don't know
- 38:40Speaker 3: what her life fans. First of all, then she's being
- 38:43Speaker 3: so judgy, like from minute one in that episode, she's
- 38:47Speaker 3: pushing them like, oh it's raining, you can't know your day.
- 38:50Speaker 3: We have to do something. Fuck you, you're not our boss.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Second of all, she doesn't want to eat cookies. Are
- 38:56Speaker 3: you a freaking Nazi? We didn't work? Yeah, well don't
- 39:03Speaker 3: yeah right yeah right by Hitler and last week, yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 3: look here's the deal. She hates cookies. It's just fucking.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Holy un American American.
- 39:13Speaker 3: She's being such a taskmaster and so bossy. Every time
- 39:17Speaker 3: one of the girls is done telling a story about
- 39:19Speaker 3: their lives, she immediately wants them to do work again.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Let's awesome, you knowize the living room.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Then she gets really judgy about sex, which is what
- 39:29Speaker 3: like par for the course for her, right, She's always
- 39:32Speaker 3: the prudish, judgy one. And so Blanche is talking about
- 39:35Speaker 3: that guy and she's just like, ah, and that's just stupid.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Then she starts talking about the awkward deep story and
- 39:48Speaker 3: then rolls into a beauty parlor fight between Gladys and Blanche,
- 39:55Speaker 3: and it is just like recounting this like trauma story
- 39:59Speaker 3: about how her friend was slut shaming her at the salon,
- 40:02Speaker 3: and then highlights how stupid she is when she says
- 40:06Speaker 3: that it was about rice pudding, and I'm just like,
- 40:09Speaker 3: what what are you doing? Like you're making yourself the
- 40:11Speaker 3: villain with this whole story then yourself rose yeah, and
- 40:17Speaker 3: then Blench really calls the best thing out here. So
- 40:20Speaker 3: it took them forty five minutes to make that cake,
- 40:23Speaker 3: and in that forty five minutes. Rose spoke at length
- 40:27Speaker 3: about multiple Saint Olive stories, including that Lars froze in
- 40:34Speaker 3: the lake, which is how we got to Harrying Crispies
- 40:37Speaker 3: with Max Brinker. So we introduced like five different new
- 40:42Speaker 3: Saint olaf people in her forty five minute story. And then,
- 40:46Speaker 3: last but not least, the fact that she thinks pairs
- 40:50Speaker 3: with almost anything she says anything. Yeah, that really puts
- 40:55Speaker 3: the nail in the coffin for her being the fucking villain.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Which if you've never had it's what a soup made
- 41:01Speaker 2: of pickled beets or something. Yeah, it's I don't know
- 41:04Speaker 2: if it's hot or cold like a spot show.
- 41:07Speaker 3: I think it's like Russian kimchi, right, I think, but
- 41:12Speaker 3: like with beets, Like I think it's that kind of
- 41:15Speaker 3: Let's look it up real time, because everyone loves something.
- 41:18Speaker 2: It is a flavorful dish, typically made with the meat
- 41:21Speaker 2: or vegetable broth, beets, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, onions, seasoned with dill, vinegar, tomatoes,
- 41:29Speaker 2: or beat sour. It's served hot with a dollop of
- 41:33Speaker 2: sour cream. Sounds that sounds like you're gonna have gas. Yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 2: what the hell is beat sour? Is that like a
- 41:42Speaker 2: like something you put in your drink.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Oh, okay, here I found it. Beat sour is fermented beet.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Liquid, soon juice.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yes, it's got vinegar, lemon juice or beat sour in it.
- 41:56Speaker 3: So it's with sour cream which is tangy uh, and
- 42:01Speaker 3: there's some veggies in it. But essentially you've got like
- 42:04Speaker 3: hot beef to the majority of it is a sour beat.
- 42:11Speaker 3: So pickled beets flavor. Beats taste like dirt even when
- 42:15Speaker 3: they're sour.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Well, you know, a lot of these recipes like that
- 42:20Speaker 2: come from people being poor and eating what they have.
- 42:23Speaker 2: And as borsch originates from the Ukraine or from Ukraine
- 42:27Speaker 2: has deep historical roots dating back to the Middle Ages,
- 42:32Speaker 2: so that's that must have been what they had.
- 42:34Speaker 3: But it looks like there's slight variations between Russian, Polish
- 42:42Speaker 3: and Ukrainian, but borsch originated in Ukraine and then became
- 42:50Speaker 3: deeply embedded. Yeah, it's.
- 42:59Speaker 2: I haven't any it sounds good, m Aaron. Have you
- 43:04Speaker 2: had it or no?
- 43:05Speaker 3: I have been offered it. I have not had it.
- 43:08Speaker 3: It just looks like bloody vomit to me because beats
- 43:11Speaker 3: make it.
- 43:12Speaker 2: So the sausages for us.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Is that it?
- 43:16Speaker 2: Well, no, Kristen's in.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I try it.
- 43:20Speaker 4: I mean, I'll give it a bike, always throw me off.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I know it's got hot carrots. I'm out it's got
- 43:26Speaker 3: hot mushy carrots.
- 43:27Speaker 2: You don't like the cook carrots?
- 43:29Speaker 3: No, I like the crispy rock carrot. Yeah, I mean, look,
- 43:37Speaker 3: I would I would try. In an Eddie Penn's perfect world,
- 43:43Speaker 3: I would never look at it. But in real world,
- 43:46Speaker 3: if I was somewhere and it was offered, I.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Would politely taste it chili.
- 43:50Speaker 3: But yeah, I'd rather have chili or just about anything else.
- 43:56Speaker 3: All right, m hot broth. It's a couple of places
- 44:00Speaker 3: call it hot broth, and a couple other places call
- 44:03Speaker 3: it beat soup.
