- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I have to ask this weird question.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: How many people lost a dog over the weekend?
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Let me explain this really quick.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: So Tiffany gets mind you, she was out of town most of the weekend.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: So she calls me, she goes, Hey, our neighbor Lisa lost her dog.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Have you seen it?
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Or have the dogs our dogs gone nuts because of like a dog wander?
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: If a dog walks by our house, you're getting an opera sung to you from eight pugs.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, no.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: And then you and I are at the listener appreciation party on Saturday night.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: And my front doorbell camera goes off.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Now, you know, you and I have the system where we can talk to the person.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: I got very confused because I thought this was the search party for our neighbor Lisa's dog.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, well, wait a minute.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm talking to the guy.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: I'm literally at the listener appreciation party.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: And I go, Yeah, I knew about the dog missing.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: And uh it's our neighbor Kitty Corner down here.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't understand the confusion in the guy that was sort of talking to me.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: So, long story short, there was another dog, looked like a little shihtzu mix, named Meatball.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Meatball was missing.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: What a cute name.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: There were two dogs in our neighborhood with within a block and a half of each other that went missing the same week.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So they were searching.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Here's the good news Meatball's been found.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: We found the Facebook update.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Thank goodness.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: So thank you to that.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: I'm so if so for the person that, if they're if if you're listening and you rang on my doorbell and I and I always hate it.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: I'm always like, Am I that recluse that can't come to the door?
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: I have to talk to you through the doorbell cam.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: But I'm like, I don't want to either.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Why is there a father and a child at the door?
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: This is kind of the reason that I answered the doorbell cam.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: The guy actually came and knocked on your door.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Well, and of course, the pugs are going nuts.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: So I and I heard the guy go, maybe they didn't hear us with all the dogs barking.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I'm like, all right, now I hear it.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: So that's where I was talking to the guy, and I didn't realize it was a different dog than our neighbor Lisa.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: So was Saturday the day that all the dogs went missing?
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And you'd think the odds would be with me, because I've got eight of them that a couple of them might decide that's it, we're out.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: And you just lost count.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: No, they're they were all there.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Well, the guy at the door goes, I was wondering, could you let your dogs out?
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Like in the dog run, it might attract the other dog from the barking, which made total sense.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like, oh, that might, you know, bring that might bring meatball.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: They're like talking to each other.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: I I was thinking, desperation.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, God, yes.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Because I never ever ever ring anyone's doorbell.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: No one ever rings mine.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, I always look at my camera.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Even if it's just the male guy, I'm like, okay.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: So you have to be desperate to ring somebody's doorbell.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Nobody rings a doorbell anymore.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: And I'm not answering the doorbell anymore.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: It is always so weird.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: I would, but I was like, and I'm controlling the guy.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: I'm like, uh, not here at the moment.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You're gonna you and I are the opposite.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm hiding inside, checking it out.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: If I know you, then of course I'll answer.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: But if it's somebody else, I'm like, mm-mm, I'm gonna act like I'm not here.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go in the basement.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go in the basement.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Is that a is that a female thing or just you're a hermit?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: No, I think it's now we're to the era of you were more in the era of answering the door.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: I will visually and and and face to face communicate with you.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And I feel like I'm in that transitional fa transitional decade of we did, but then we didn't.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: We don't have to anymore.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: So now I'm like, mm-mm, I'm not doing it.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I'm not answering.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: No.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Why do I I what do I need?
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Do I need you to sell me something?
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: No, but it's the decency thing if it's if if it's a But I don't know what you're I I don't know what you're you're calling about.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Let me ask you this.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: So so here's the thing.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: If I'm if you're in front of my camera, then yeah, I'm gonna be like, can I help you?
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Well, I if they're holding a Bible, I will gladly hit the button and be like, Can I help you?
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Satan's here.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I'm having a conversation with Satan.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Do you need me?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: You don't want to be in that situation, which is why you're like, you can give some BS excuse, even if you are home.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not home.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Stoop it! Or I'm not home.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: My Lamar out.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And then they'll go, Well, your car's here.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Somebody picked me up.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: I'm in Buffalo right now.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Let me ask.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Let me ask this question.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: What?
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So say you start with, you know, hitting the button on your phone on the camera, and they're like, hey, we're trying to find it's a guy and a little kid, right?
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: We're trying to find meatball.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: We're trying to find meatball.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Do you then get off the couch and go open the door and be like, oh my gosh.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: What's the point?
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: At that point, do I need to?
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Not really.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: This is the most insensitive piece of you I've ever heard.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: I'll just respond back.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: I'll keep a lookout.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: And then you'll be like, and if you see Junior go missing, uh do the same for me.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Don't really care.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I will care.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: No, you'll care because it's your dog.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: When I'm on my walk, I will care.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Well, you always see it, you always see it on next door, too.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: They're always posting missing cats, missing dogs, uh, missing everything.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: And so missing iguanas, you know, you never know.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: And I will say, when I'm out and about walking junior, I will look around because I did have a neighbor who lost a dog recently.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So I was looking while I was walking, but I wasn't like perusing the neighborhood on my own.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Merle's right away.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: This is exactly what I told the guy.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: He went to the country club for a few rounds of golf.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: I literally told the guy on the camera.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: I said, Have you checked the country club?
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Because the, you know, like my dogs have run.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: When Ginger was really little and Finn was really little, this is before you know the others came along.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: You know, Finn did the deed.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Um, those two took off for the golf course and they were running around.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: It's the biggest front lawn you've ever seen.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: That's really funny.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: And it's new grass to pee on.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: And then 2878, I don't want to talk to anybody at work, at home, put it in an email uh so I can uh file it in the idiot file.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it's the same at the door.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So insensitive.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Unless you're gonna give me some sort of what was that publisher's clearinghouse?
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Was that the check that they would give back at the time?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: If uh Ed McMahon uh would show up at your door and be like, You're the winner.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Unless somebody shows up at my door with a check.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: No thanks.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Okay.
