- 0:22Speaker 1: Welcome to Eagles postgame analysis here at the Philadelphia Sports
- 0:24Speaker 1: Table podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show.
- 0:28Speaker 2: In the world.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Over 13 and a half years strong. Week four of
- 0:32Speaker 1: this Philadelphia Eagles.
- 0:35Speaker 2: 2026-2027 season now in the books.
- 0:37Speaker 1: They lose to the Los Angeles Rams at the link
- 0:41Speaker 1: in a horrific fashion.
- 0:42Speaker 2: By a score of 24-20. just amazing themes that.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We are going to continue to talk about on this
- 0:48Speaker 1: Eagles postgame show that we've talked about in previous postgame
- 0:50Speaker 1: shows as well. But I want to introduce my buddy
- 0:54Speaker 1: who is filling in for the guys this week from the.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Honorable Mention podcast.
- 0:59Speaker 1: We love talking to him every now and again as
- 1:02Speaker 1: we talk about the Eagles. Sometimes we talk about the Sixers.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Sometimes we talk about the Phillies. He is Matt Rogers,
- 1:07Speaker 1: my friend. Thank you so much for taking the time
- 1:09Speaker 1: to join us here. Really appreciate it, man.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Oh, thank you for always extending the invitation to come on.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I'm always, always receptive.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And I wish we were under better circumstances today. I know.
- 1:24Speaker 3: They held on for about, you know, 56 minutes.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. You know, what amazes me is the.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Fact that this Eagles team over and over and over again, consistent,
- 1:38Speaker 1: we're talking about the same themes, you know, week after week.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Before we get to the themes, though, just want to
- 1:44Speaker 1: go through the injuries really quick, just in case some
- 1:46Speaker 1: folks missed the game and didn't realize there were certain
- 1:50Speaker 1: players that were injured coming into this game. Devontae Smith
- 1:53Speaker 1: was out with a hamstring injury. Zach Bond out with
- 1:55Speaker 1: a concussion. Lane Johnson had a personal matter. Marcus Epps
- 1:59Speaker 1: was out with a groin, Fred Johnson out with a
- 2:02Speaker 1: knee injury. Now during the game, Saquon Barkley was injured
- 2:05Speaker 1: in the first quarter. He left with a hamstring injury.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Quinion Mitchell injured his knee. The very first snap of
- 2:11Speaker 1: the second half, Jonathan Jones then came in to replace him.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Jonathan Grenard went.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Jonathan Grenard went into the locker room in the third quarter.
- 2:20Speaker 1: He went out with a knee injury and tank Bixby
- 2:23Speaker 1: left the game in the fourth quarter. I mean, it was,
- 2:26Speaker 1: It was a devastating loss in terms of injuries with
- 2:28Speaker 1: regard to this game, but no excuse. No excuse at
- 2:31Speaker 1: all because, yes, this team loses at the end of
- 2:35Speaker 1: the day. And I think the Eagles ended up getting
- 2:40Speaker 1: the ball to start the game, as we saw, Matt.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And I guess my first theme is here, what has
- 2:47Speaker 1: happened with this team on third down? What has happened
- 2:50Speaker 1: with this team consistently on third down as– The pathetic
- 2:56Speaker 1: nature of play calling has persisted. Again, Eagles get the
- 3:01Speaker 1: ball to start the game. There was miscommunication on the
- 3:04Speaker 1: second play of the game. We heard some expletives from
- 3:07Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts on the broadcast.
- 3:09Speaker 2: They couldn't bleep it. There was, yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Third down, Jalen had Dontavian Wicks wide open, didn't see him.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It was a third and out to start the game,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and it really was... And another theme here, that theme
- 3:23Speaker 1: that the Eagles are just not able to convert on
- 3:26Speaker 1: third down in the first half. They're not able to
- 3:29Speaker 1: convert on third down in the second half. Last week
- 3:32Speaker 1: against the Chicago Bears, they went two of nine.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Today, they were 0 for 11.
- 3:39Speaker 1: The first time at home in Philly that that has
- 3:42Speaker 1: happened since all the way back in 2001 in that
- 3:46Speaker 1: game against Baltimore that was actually said on the broadcast.
- 3:49Speaker 2: That is my first theme.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And I guess the real question is, this is persisting
- 3:54Speaker 1: over and over and over, Matt.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Something has to happen. Something has to give.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Heads are going to have to roll at some point
- 4:00Speaker 1: if I'm not maybe mistaken here. Something has to happen.
- 4:04Speaker 1: This is the same shit over and over. It's the
- 4:07Speaker 1: same shit.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I think Sirianni, I think at a certain point, it's
- 4:13Speaker 3: like at one point, the Chip Kelly Eagles were unstoppable.
- 4:17Speaker 3: At a certain point, the NFL– predominantly led by the Seahawks,
- 4:21Speaker 3: were basically unlocked, basically the way to defend them. And
- 4:26Speaker 3: I feel like the Eagles are so predictable. You know,
- 4:29Speaker 3: they are going to run on first down, doesn't go well.
- 4:33Speaker 3: They're going to try some intermediate second down. Just thematically,
- 4:36Speaker 3: it's so easy to understand what the Eagles are always
- 4:39Speaker 3: trying to do. And then on third down, they're going
- 4:41Speaker 3: to ask guys to, you know, Jalen Hurts to make
- 4:44Speaker 3: some kind of hero play. If I was making the
- 4:48Speaker 3: case that Jalen Hurts is the best Eagles quarterback, best
- 4:51Speaker 3: quarterback in Eagles history, this is not the film I'd say, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 3: go turn this tape on from today's game, and this
- 4:57Speaker 3: is what I would have them watch.
- 4:59Speaker 4: This was not a great game from him today.
- 5:02Speaker 1: It was not a great game from him. It was
- 5:04Speaker 1: not a great game from the offense overall because when
- 5:06Speaker 1: you look at this Eagles offense and you do take
- 5:08Speaker 1: a look at the box score, if anybody actually wants
- 5:10Speaker 1: to dive into it, 104 yards total rushing. 93 yards
- 5:16Speaker 1: of receiving. Jalen Hurts only threw for 93 yards in
- 5:21Speaker 1: this game. He averaged 3.4 yards per attempt.
- 5:25Speaker 2: His rating was a 78.2.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Threw the ball 27 times, completed 12. Yes, the elements
- 5:31Speaker 1: were out there, but man, Matt Stafford threw.
- 5:34Speaker 4: The ball 51 times.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yes, completed 32 of them, you know, and two interceptions too. Really,
- 5:42Speaker 1: just an incredibly messy game on both sides of the
- 5:45Speaker 1: ball for both teams. But I will say my other
- 5:49Speaker 1: theme that I wanted to dive into as well. And again,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it's a theme we talked about last week, and it's
- 5:56Speaker 1: not just with third down, but it correlates with third down.
- 5:59Speaker 1: is we're seeing this Eagles offense not producing in terms
- 6:04Speaker 1: of getting chunk yards on early downs.
- 6:07Speaker 2: It is always third and long, Matt, and it's continuing
- 6:10Speaker 2: to persist.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Second and long and third.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And long, always.
- 6:15Speaker 3: That's incredible. Thus they go 0 for 11. When I
- 6:20Speaker 3: was looking, it said 0 for 12, but either way.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I'm sorry, it's 0 for 12. It is 0 for 12.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yep. Oh, gosh.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And then.
- 6:29Speaker 3: It only 10 penalties. That's a lot of pedal, 10 penalties.
- 6:33Speaker 3: And they're always back breakers. That's my theme. Jeff for
- 6:37Speaker 3: today is, is about the, the, the penalties just horrendous.
- 6:41Speaker 3: And some of them, the Jonathan Jones, to be honest,
- 6:45Speaker 3: Jalen Hurst got blown up on the sideline, just like that. The,
- 6:48Speaker 3: the other day, I mean, on a play like that,
- 6:50Speaker 3: where the guy it's a running back, who's clearly trying
- 6:52Speaker 3: to extend the ball out.
- 6:53Speaker 4: He's trying to, you know, blunt his momentum.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Sure. He blew him up. So that one, okay.
- 6:58Speaker 4: But for the most part, they're really boneheaded, just egregious
- 7:02Speaker 4: penalties that are making away chunk plays too.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of chunk plays are happening. They
- 7:08Speaker 2: happen to be when the Eagles are, I guess, cheating. Exactly. Exactly.
- 7:15Speaker 2: They have to be cheating, right? Exactly. Got to be
- 7:18Speaker 2: cheating in order to get those chunk yards.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But really, Matt, I think at the end of the day, buddy,
- 7:25Speaker 1: like at the end of the day, it's just coaching,
- 7:27Speaker 1: coaching and.
- 7:28Speaker 2: A lack of now coach. Oh my God.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Lack of preparedness and a lack of preparedness. That's, that's
- 7:34Speaker 2: what this looked like as good as.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Like, the wide receivers are on this team this year
- 7:39Speaker 1: because they really are a bright spot. And as good
- 7:41Speaker 1: as Jalen hurts has been the PR the previous three weeks,
- 7:44Speaker 1: in my opinion, as, as a NFL quarterback, he's been
- 7:47Speaker 1: really damn good today.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Really, really crap the bed, not good at all. And
- 7:52Speaker 2: he would probably say that too. I mean, we're.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Recording this right after the fourth quarter ended. He probably
- 7:58Speaker 1: will say that he did not play very well this week,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, the coaching team,
- 8:03Speaker 1: is absolutely horrendous. And I wonder, I really do wonder
- 8:08Speaker 1: if this wasn't necessarily a Kevin Petullo issue last year.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Sean Mannion, this looks very, very similar to what we
- 8:17Speaker 1: saw last year, Matt.
- 8:19Speaker 3: It does at the end of the day. I said
- 8:22Speaker 3: it on another publication. I'm not going to plug another
- 8:25Speaker 3: publication while I'm on.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's okay. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I don't care.
- 8:30Speaker 2: It's my own. It's the honorable mention podcast.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I said, on the last episode, that we've got to
- 8:35Speaker 3: get Nick Sirianni the hell out of the room because
- 8:39Speaker 3: all of this lulliness of this offense and these just
- 8:44Speaker 3: long periods of time where nothing's happening, it's all rhyming.
- 8:49Speaker 3: It looks like Nick is the one who is making
- 8:53Speaker 3: these calls. And it just totally came to fruition again today.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I mean, we can't, yeah. I mean, I do think that.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I don't think Kevin Petullo was actually the answer, but
- 9:06Speaker 3: I don't agree.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I don't think it was a solution.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I'm not sure he was the problem that that's where
- 9:13Speaker 3: I'm coming to with.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 1: We're seeing this really manifest right now because the same
- 9:18Speaker 1: themes of last year are the same themes that we
- 9:21Speaker 1: are seeing this year as well. I want to talk
- 9:25Speaker 1: also about the offensive line. And I really do wonder,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I really, really do wonder if losing Jeff Stoutland, was
- 9:33Speaker 1: that big of a hit four weeks into this season
- 9:37Speaker 1: was losing Jeff Stoutland, a huge, huge negative for this team,
- 9:42Speaker 1: how that all went down during the off season, because
- 9:44Speaker 1: this offensive line and we have been spoiled, as we
- 9:47Speaker 1: have said a number of times, folks over the years,
- 9:50Speaker 1: we've been spoiled as Eagles fans, but this offensive line
- 9:54Speaker 1: is not living up to the standard of what a
- 9:56Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles offensive line should be looking like, especially in
- 9:59Speaker 1: week four. four at this point. The offensive line stinks
- 10:04Speaker 1: to high heaven. And yes, Elaine Johnson was not playing today.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Of course, we've had the Landon Dickerson injury that this
- 10:14Speaker 1: coaching staff has tried to deal with. But still, at
- 10:16Speaker 1: the end of the day, I think Jeff Stoutland would
- 10:18Speaker 1: have had this offensive line in a much better position
- 10:22Speaker 1: than where they currently are right now. I think it's
- 10:24Speaker 1: a huge issue. Not too many folks are talking about
- 10:26Speaker 1: Jeff Stoutland right now. I think we need to start
- 10:28Speaker 1: talking about that.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I saw him. He's got a podcast.
- 10:31Speaker 4: He looks like he's living his best life, drinking lots
- 10:33Speaker 4: of water.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I mean, he looks, he looks well. Yes. Bring them back.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Maybe somebody needs else needs to be in the, in
- 10:43Speaker 3: the kitchen cooking.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Sirianni, He is not imaginative.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And some of.
- 10:50Speaker 3: These plays are so predictable. And a lot of times
- 10:53Speaker 3: they're running the same exact plays. I mean, it's okay.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You get concepts, but it's so predictable. I mean, if
- 11:01Speaker 3: I'm playing against them, I know exactly what they're doing.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Exactly. Every single time.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Well, look, I don't want to completely have our discussion
- 11:12Speaker 1: within the toilet because outside of the toilet, there was
- 11:16Speaker 1: some good stuff that happened. The Eagles had their very
- 11:18Speaker 1: first turnover.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Eagles had their very first turnover. Oh my God.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Andrew Makuba has interception on the Rams. Very first drive
- 11:27Speaker 1: of the game. Quite a turnaround for Andrew Makuba right
- 11:31Speaker 1: out of the gate. Great pressure from Jonathan Grenard to
- 11:34Speaker 1: force Matthew Stafford into overthrowing it. Makuba was in a
- 11:37Speaker 1: great position to make a diving catch and interception that
- 11:40Speaker 1: put the Eagles in a really, really good field position
- 11:43Speaker 1: where they were able to come away with three points. But, uh,
- 11:46Speaker 1: Interestingly enough, you know, Stafford has thrown an interception in
- 11:49Speaker 1: his first four games this season. First time ever in
- 11:53Speaker 1: his career. Eagles actually had 10 points off of turnovers
- 11:57Speaker 1: in this game. If the defense didn't keep this team
- 12:01Speaker 1: in this game, the offense, as we were talking about
- 12:03Speaker 1: really wouldn't have been able to do anything. So I
- 12:05Speaker 1: do think we need to give some kudos to this
- 12:07Speaker 1: defense for actually keeping them in the game as long
- 12:11Speaker 1: as they did. And of course they faltered right at
- 12:13Speaker 1: the end of the fourth quarter, Matt, but kudos goes
- 12:15Speaker 1: to the.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Defense and for getting some turnovers this week.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I think that, uh, I think another thing that needs
- 12:21Speaker 3: to be pointed out is.
- 12:22Speaker 2: That, uh, the.
- 12:26Speaker 4: McVay made a bad decision that forced.
- 12:28Speaker 3: The, the Rams up in a bad situation. The Eagles
- 12:32Speaker 3: drive the length of the field and then Sirianni trades
- 12:36Speaker 3: him back a bad decision and goes forward on fourth.
- 12:39Speaker 3: If Sirianni kicks the 2310 is a totally different game.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yep. Absolutely. So again, he, he.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Doesn't go for it when it totally makes sense and he,
- 12:51Speaker 3: I mean, the fourth and one and a half and
- 12:53Speaker 3: you're trying to tush push.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Doesn't he know that these guys are?
- 12:57Speaker 2: Can you not?
- 12:57Speaker 3: I guess you can't practice the tush push with the
- 13:00Speaker 3: right intensity. So I guess he can't tell that Drew
- 13:03Speaker 3: Kendall and Cam Juergens, but he's got to know that
- 13:07Speaker 3: in these situations, if you don't know that I'm getting
- 13:10Speaker 3: it on these fourth and one and a half. I mean,
- 13:13Speaker 3: that was one of the clearest times when they've run
- 13:16Speaker 3: that play and I was watching it. There was no
- 13:18Speaker 3: question in my mind that that that they got Stonewall.
- 13:21Speaker 3: that there was absolutely didn't even get close to a
- 13:24Speaker 3: first down.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah. It's again, we're going back to coaching, you know,
- 13:31Speaker 1: we're going back to coaching and the lack thereof. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: also wanted to mention another theme from this game too,
- 13:38Speaker 1: from a positive perspective. And I kind of mentioned it
- 13:40Speaker 1: during our initial discussion, how the wide receivers really are
- 13:45Speaker 1: one of the very bright spots on this team this season.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And we saw it today with one, Darius Cooper with
- 13:52Speaker 1: an amazing grab in the end zone in the second quarter.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be an intercepted ball,
- 13:57Speaker 1: but Darius Cooper said, uh-uh, no way, no way.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Okay, hold my beer here.
- 14:01Speaker 1: No way am I letting this defender.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I mean, I thought.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Cooper mossed Lake with regard to that particular catch.
- 14:13Speaker 4: It's one of the worst I've seen in a while.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Cause like that's an interception almost every other time.
- 14:20Speaker 3: If you play that back a hundred times, he's getting
- 14:23Speaker 3: that interception most times.
- 14:25Speaker 4: That was absolutely incredible catch.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And then after the second touchdown, after Darius Cooper, second touchdown, Matt,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I was thinking to myself, I mean, even when Devante
- 14:34Speaker 1: Smith comes back, Darius Cooper should absolutely be playing more
- 14:38Speaker 1: snaps than, than he does. I actually believe he's probably
- 14:42Speaker 1: the third best receiver in, on this Eagles roster here
- 14:46Speaker 1: at this point. And I think Darius Cooper, based on
- 14:50Speaker 1: today's game, based on all the crap that we saw
- 14:53Speaker 1: from an offensive perspective, he was consistent and he was
- 14:57Speaker 1: able to produce upping his game. I think Darius Cooper
- 15:01Speaker 1: should be getting more snaps in my opinion.
- 15:04Speaker 2: He's third.
- 15:05Speaker 3: So we're Barry or so we're burying Hollywood Brown, Hollywood Browns,
- 15:09Speaker 3: basically a, At Hogwarts.
- 15:11Speaker 2: He's basically. Yes. Yes. Basically.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:15Speaker 2: At this point. So, I mean, that's another. Yes. That's
- 15:19Speaker 2: another theme for me. Hogwarts. That's terrible. Oh, my gosh.
- 15:24Speaker 2: If you're listening to this, buddy, we're sorry.
- 15:26Speaker 1: So that's a good one, buddy. I mean, do you
- 15:33Speaker 1: have any other themes from this game, you know, before we,
- 15:36Speaker 1: before we head to our break here and before we
- 15:38Speaker 1: then get into the grades by unit, do you have
- 15:40Speaker 1: any other themes?
- 15:41Speaker 2: Well, if the tush push doesn't exist anymore than.
- 15:44Speaker 3: The way that the Eagles eat and maybe the best
- 15:46Speaker 3: damn thing, I guess the biggest news of the show,
- 15:49Speaker 3: maybe they have to call the plays a little more aggressively.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Maybe you can take a first down shot.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. Wouldn't that be great?
- 15:58Speaker 1: You could try to go intermediate on first down.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Just run up the gut. Outside zone, obviously. Because maybe
- 16:06Speaker 3: we don't have that. It's not a cheat code. It's
- 16:09Speaker 3: that extra leverage to be able to. It's literally what
- 16:12Speaker 3: it is. That on third and fourth and one, we
- 16:15Speaker 3: could just hammer in the first. Maybe actually you have
- 16:18Speaker 3: to run real plays. And maybe they'll have to put
- 16:21Speaker 3: more plays in the playbook.
- 16:24Speaker 1: God, I'm getting heart palpitations thinking about this, Matt. Look
- 16:27Speaker 1: at this here.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Getting heart palpitations thinking about taking a shot.
- 16:32Speaker 2: On more plays. Not a bore fest. Exactly. Oh, my gosh.
- 16:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:42Speaker 1: And again, any more themes, you know, before we had
- 16:45Speaker 1: a break here?
- 16:46Speaker 3: We can leave it on that for the break because
- 16:48Speaker 3: that good thoughts before the.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Break, y'all.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 16:51Speaker 1: All right, folks, we're going to take a break. When
- 16:53Speaker 1: we get back, we're going to grade by unit, and
- 16:55Speaker 1: then we're going to give out our MVP award, our
- 16:57Speaker 1: LVP award.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Better known as our doo-doo butter award.
- 17:00Speaker 1: We're going to be back in just a bit, folks.
- 17:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 17:07Speaker 1: We are back with our buddy, Matt Rogers from the
- 17:10Speaker 1: honorable mention podcast. I subscribe on Apple podcasts. Matt's on
- 17:14Speaker 1: YouTube with the honorable mention podcast as well. Subscribe on
- 17:17Speaker 1: whatever podcast platform you're listening to us on. a great,
- 17:20Speaker 1: great listen all the time. And my friend, let's do
- 17:25Speaker 1: some grading here. Jalen hurts. I read off the stats earlier.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I'm giving Jalen hurts this week. A D plus.
- 17:31Speaker 2: What do you give him?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I got it.
- 17:33Speaker 4: I got to say it. That that's the grade. That's
- 17:36Speaker 4: the grade.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yep.
- 17:37Speaker 2: He threw two touchdowns.
- 17:38Speaker 1: The best thing he did in the game was throwing
- 17:40Speaker 1: those two touchdowns, but again, 12 to 27, 93 yards, 3.4
- 17:42Speaker 1: yards per attempt. And he sacked four times, lost 25
- 17:48Speaker 1: yards on those four sacks and a rating of 78.2. Yes,
- 17:52Speaker 1: two touchdowns he threw. But at the end of the day,
- 17:54Speaker 1: it was a D plus grade for me.
- 17:57Speaker 3: But he's not going to get the award for me
- 18:00Speaker 3: as far as, you know, when we get to our award.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Not going to get the doo-doo butter award?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Oh!
- 18:06Speaker 2: So there are worse grades coming, folks. Worst grades coming, folks.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So let's go to the running back position. I'm going
- 18:14Speaker 1: to be honest with you, okay? Even though total in
- 18:17Speaker 1: terms of Eagles rushing, 3.9 yards per rush on the
- 18:21Speaker 1: day with everybody, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Hertz, and Barkley.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Barkley only carried the ball twice before his injury for
- 18:28Speaker 1: eight yards, and then it was really Tank Bigsby who
- 18:31Speaker 1: carried the ball 14 times for 55 yards, Will Shipley
- 18:36Speaker 1: six times for 23 yards. It was basically like a 3.8, 3.9
- 18:41Speaker 1: yards per carry type of game. I'm going to actually
- 18:45Speaker 1: give them a B minus, you know, because at the
- 18:48Speaker 1: end of the day, and we're going to get to
- 18:49Speaker 1: the offensive line in just a bit, the offensive line
- 18:52Speaker 1: didn't necessarily help out the running backs today, but I
- 18:54Speaker 1: think the running backs tried to make the most of
- 18:56Speaker 1: each play.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I'm going to give them a B minus. What do
- 18:58Speaker 2: you give them?
- 19:02Speaker 3: I appreciate the sentiment behind the B minus.
- 19:05Speaker 2: But we can't, in my mind, I can't attach.
- 19:08Speaker 4: B anything to that.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:10Speaker 4: From those guys.
- 19:11Speaker 3: They played fine. It was like a gentleman's C. It's
- 19:14Speaker 3: like a gentleman's C.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Or maybe a C plus. Gentleman's average. Okay.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Gentleman's average.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Okay. Right.
- 19:25Speaker 3: They put their hard hats on today, their vests on,
- 19:28Speaker 3: and they went to work.
- 19:29Speaker 2: And they showed up all the time. And they didn't
- 19:32Speaker 2: leave early. That's what they did. All right. All right.
- 19:35Speaker 1: The wide receivers and tight ends in this game. Darius
- 19:39Speaker 1: Cooper had the most targets in this game. Seven targets
- 19:42Speaker 1: came down with three balls for 33 yards. But Guy
- 19:45Speaker 1: Lemon had six targets, caught three balls for 27 yards.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Dontavian Wicks thought he'd be a little more involved in
- 19:51Speaker 1: the game plan. He had five targets on the day,
- 19:54Speaker 1: came down with three balls for 18 yards. Zach Ertz
- 19:56Speaker 1: was targeted four times, came down with two balls for
- 20:00Speaker 1: 13 yards. And then you had the running backs catching
- 20:02Speaker 1: some passes here and there. They were each targeted one time.
- 20:05Speaker 2: In the game.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I'm going to get, look, I'm going to give the
- 20:08Speaker 1: receiver because Jalen hurts did not play well. And he
- 20:10Speaker 1: was not putting the ball really where he needed to
- 20:12Speaker 1: put the ball. But I think the receivers were coming
- 20:14Speaker 1: up with some balls today that they needed to at times.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And especially Darius Cooper on his first touchdown of the season,
- 20:20Speaker 1: first touchdown of the game.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I'm going to give this crew a B minus. What
- 20:24Speaker 2: do you give the receivers?
- 20:27Speaker 3: I would have given them a B minus until the
- 20:29Speaker 3: drop on the last important drive of the game by Zach.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 20:34Speaker 3: That's the whole drop was a killer. And then you
- 20:37Speaker 3: got the drop on the, you know, if we're including
- 20:39Speaker 3: the running backs.
- 20:40Speaker 4: The, the, I get that.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I guess that Jalen did put too much steam when
- 20:44Speaker 3: he swung it out to the right there.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:47Speaker 4: To think Bigsby, there was too much heat on that one.
- 20:50Speaker 3: So I guess we won't exactly call that a drop,
- 20:52Speaker 3: but they also, they were, they're, they're dipping in the
- 20:56Speaker 3: gentleman's sea, but, but I'll give them the, the past catchers.
- 21:00Speaker 3: They did make plays and how the hell can you,
- 21:03Speaker 3: you know, that, that, Amazing catch from Cooper definitely brings
- 21:06Speaker 3: the average up for that.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 21:08Speaker 1: All right, let's move to the offensive line here. There's
- 21:11Speaker 1: a lot of garbage here.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Boy, it's– There was one today.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 2: They put bags out there. Yeah, I'm just going to
- 21:19Speaker 2: go with an F today at the end of the day.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I'm going to just go with an F.
- 21:22Speaker 1: This offensive line is continuing to fail week after week
- 21:25Speaker 1: after week. Again, goes back to what I was saying earlier.
- 21:28Speaker 1: They're missing Jeff Stoutman. I really truly believe that. I'm
- 21:31Speaker 1: giving the offensive line an F.
- 21:32Speaker 2: What do you give them?
- 21:34Speaker 3: I mean, if I could give him some worse, I mean,
- 21:39Speaker 3: Markel Bell, he, I don't want to, you know, be
- 21:42Speaker 3: too hard on him because he had a lot of
- 21:44Speaker 3: good moments, but still he's part of a, just a,
- 21:46Speaker 3: just a, an atrocious performance.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I mean, they're just absolutely in it.
- 21:52Speaker 2: All right. Let's move to the defensive side of the ball.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Defensive line.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I do have to say, Matt, that I have been
- 22:02Speaker 1: very disappointed over these past few weeks with how Jordan
- 22:08Speaker 1: Davis and Jalen Carter, I was wearing my Jalen Carter
- 22:11Speaker 1: Jersey earlier and I just took it off in frustration.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm just so disappointed at how this line is performing
- 22:19Speaker 1: this year. Yes, there were, what did they have? One
- 22:23Speaker 1: sack on the day? Nolan Smith had one sack.
- 22:27Speaker 2: No, Nolan had two. Did he have two sacks?
- 22:30Speaker 4: I think Nolan Smith had two sacks today.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Oh, I think he did. I think he did. I'm
- 22:33Speaker 2: reading the box score here and they have an incorrect
- 22:36Speaker 2: as one. So regardless, they took one away.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Maybe they may have actually.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they have him down for a tackle for a
- 22:44Speaker 1: loss as well. But look, only only five quarterback hits
- 22:47Speaker 1: on Matt Stafford. Are you kidding me? Only five quarterback
- 22:51Speaker 1: hits on Matt Stafford.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Yeah, they got one line. One sec.
- 22:55Speaker 2: The defensive line is not getting it done. They're just
- 22:58Speaker 2: not getting it done. I'm giving them a D this week.
- 23:00Speaker 2: What do you give them?
- 23:01Speaker 1: As much as the defense played a great role in
- 23:03Speaker 1: terms of pressure, even I'm still going to give them
- 23:06Speaker 1: a D because you got to get home every now
- 23:09Speaker 1: and again, and they're not getting it done.
- 23:11Speaker 2: What do you give them?
- 23:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I get, I'll give them a D plus. I
- 23:17Speaker 3: liked a lot of what I saw from Garnard. They're
- 23:19Speaker 3: going to be hanging and, and, and Nolan Smith.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Inexplicably because I mean, I hate to give away state secrets,
- 23:26Speaker 3: but you know, other people watch football too. And so
- 23:29Speaker 3: what I'm going to say is for the people who
- 23:31Speaker 3: watch football, you may notice that if anybody gets their
- 23:33Speaker 3: hands on Nolan Smith, Nolan Smith's not beating you, but
- 23:37Speaker 3: if you let him come free at your quarterback, he
- 23:41Speaker 3: is going to run right past you. So he had
- 23:43Speaker 3: a couple of good pass rush moments today. And so
- 23:47Speaker 3: did Jonathan Grenard with some absolutely just dominant moments.
- 23:51Speaker 2: He was getting up.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I know during the week, Vic was saying that he
- 23:54Speaker 3: was going to play up to 30 snaps. I don't
- 23:56Speaker 3: know what the snap count was, but hopefully they're hanging
- 23:59Speaker 3: or they're probably hanging their head on. Grenard's going to
- 24:03Speaker 3: play more. He'll play better. But they're not getting home.
- 24:07Speaker 3: And I guess they're saying that the quarterbacks are getting
- 24:10Speaker 3: the ball off fast, which accounts for why they're not
- 24:13Speaker 3: getting home. People throw the ball fast against other teams,
- 24:17Speaker 3: quickly against other teams as well.
- 24:19Speaker 4: So I don't know about that.
- 24:21Speaker 1: All right, well, let's move to the linebacker position. You
- 24:24Speaker 1: basically had two that were out there for the majority
- 24:26Speaker 1: of the day. Jeremiah Charter Jr. getting the start with
- 24:31Speaker 1: Zach Bond being out with a concussion. Jihad Campbell as well.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I think in terms of run stoppage, the linebackers basically
- 24:39Speaker 1: were at about a B-plus or so. And then in
- 24:42Speaker 1: pass coverage, especially Jihad Campbell.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Dude, dude, it's got... In past coverage, it's been rough.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It has really been rough. We talked about it last
- 24:51Speaker 1: week as well. I mean, it brings it down. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: would say in past coverage, probably a C minus.
- 24:56Speaker 2: So I'm going to give him a B minus this week.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I give Trotter a lot of credit for coming in
- 25:01Speaker 1: his first like real start, real important game against this
- 25:05Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams team. a team that is slated to
- 25:08Speaker 1: go to the super bowl. They basically were anointed before
- 25:11Speaker 1: the season started. He did a pretty good job in
- 25:15Speaker 1: my opinion. So I'm going to give the linebackers a
- 25:17Speaker 1: B plus this week.
- 25:18Speaker 2: What do you give them? Yeah, I got it.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 25:22Speaker 2: B minus B minus. Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 4: B minus is the great you were saying when you
- 25:26Speaker 4: were saying all that.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 3: B minus is what I, yeah, it's, I don't know
- 25:31Speaker 3: what to do about Jihad Campbell. I guess we can
- 25:33Speaker 3: get into that later, but that's a, but that's a,
- 25:36Speaker 3: that's a, Topic worthy of discussion.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Secondary, believe it or not, I am going to give
- 25:43Speaker 1: the secondary this week a B plus could be an
- 25:47Speaker 1: A minus 10 passes defended. And Michael Carter had three
- 25:52Speaker 1: of them. Jonathan Jones had one. You had Cooper Dijon
- 25:56Speaker 1: with two. Rick Wolin with one. They were past defending
- 26:00Speaker 1: Matt Stafford and these wide receivers like it was nobody's business.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I really think the secondary did what they needed to do.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And again, Andrew Makuba coming up with an interception, Cooper
- 26:10Speaker 1: Dajin with a really nice interception, really great eyes, really
- 26:14Speaker 1: great hands. when he was able to bring in that
- 26:17Speaker 1: interception after Matt Stafford overthrew the receiver in front of him.
- 26:22Speaker 1: So I'm going to give him a, I'd say it's
- 26:25Speaker 1: B plus a minus, to be honest, I'll probably go
- 26:27Speaker 1: B plus though here, just because overall they ended up
- 26:30Speaker 1: losing the game.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Things were crap. So I'd say B plus for the secondary.
- 26:34Speaker 2: What do you give them? That's the same thing.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I like had they won the, and I hate to
- 26:39Speaker 3: be so simplistic about it, but had they won the game,
- 26:42Speaker 3: then they get an A, not minus or plus, but
- 26:45Speaker 3: they would get just a stone cold A because if
- 26:47Speaker 3: I just eliminate the other people's performance and say I
- 26:50Speaker 3: take that performance from this DB group to any game,
- 26:55Speaker 3: should the Eagles have more than a chance?
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Going up against Devontae and Puka, who was out there
- 27:00Speaker 3: making amazing plays, they played very well. But when they
- 27:05Speaker 3: needed to get the stop, they didn't get the stop.
- 27:07Speaker 3: So I can't give any A anything.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yep. Very fair. That's very fair. Oh, great. Yeah. Let's
- 27:14Speaker 2: get into a really quick. Well, actually, let's see. Let's
- 27:17Speaker 2: see where I am at with time. Actually, let's take
- 27:19Speaker 2: a break.
- 27:20Speaker 1: And then when we get back, we're going to grade
- 27:21Speaker 1: coaches and then give out our MVP and LVP award.
- 27:23Speaker 2: All right. Let's do that. Let's take a break. We'll
- 27:27Speaker 2: be back in just a bit, folks.
- 27:31Speaker 1: All right, back with our buddy Matt Rogers from the
- 27:33Speaker 1: Honorable Mention podcast. Search out the Honorable Mention and subscribe
- 27:38Speaker 1: on whatever podcast platform you're listening to us on and.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Subscribe to him over on YouTube as well.
- 27:43Speaker 1: That is the Honorable Mention podcast, folks. All right, special
- 27:46Speaker 1: teams this week. I have got to give. Jake Elliott,
- 27:51Speaker 1: some kudos here at this point. He is perfect on
- 27:54Speaker 1: the season so far. He had a 56-yard field goal today.
- 27:57Speaker 1: This year, he is already two for two on 50-plus-yard
- 28:02Speaker 1: field goals, Matt. A complete, basically, turnaround from where he
- 28:06Speaker 1: was last year. Braden Mann had some pretty good punts today.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He did have one that was a bit of a stinker.
- 28:14Speaker 1: But the one in particular that I'm thinking about second
- 28:17Speaker 1: quarter inside the 10 yard line, they needed to pin
- 28:19Speaker 1: the Rams back. He did that Britain Covey with an
- 28:22Speaker 1: amazing punt return in the second quarter for 41 yards.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I'm giving special teams this weekend.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Hey, what do you give them?
- 28:29Speaker 2: I agree.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I take, I'll take their performance today. I mean, you know,
- 28:32Speaker 3: you have another one of the low light moments where
- 28:35Speaker 3: Keely Ringo gets the running out of bounds, but also
- 28:38Speaker 3: Keely has, you know, stacked up a few really good
- 28:41Speaker 3: plays on defense and, And that shows why he's still
- 28:43Speaker 3: on this damn team for all the people very preseason
- 28:46Speaker 3: who were watching him play corner.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Well, he has to have a position on, but he
- 28:49Speaker 4: plays teams and he's a damn good special teams player.
- 28:53Speaker 4: So I agree a, a across the board.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Yep.
- 28:57Speaker 2: All right. Very good. Let's move to the defensive side
- 29:00Speaker 2: of the ball. Vic Fangio. Really?
- 29:02Speaker 1: I mean, this was a defensive effort from start to
- 29:06Speaker 1: almost finish. It was a defensive game for this Eagles team.
- 29:10Speaker 1: They were hanging in there. They were getting the job done.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Two turnovers. They still ended up coughing up the ball, basically,
- 29:17Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter, letting the Rams just go right
- 29:20Speaker 1: down the field.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Some stupid penalties here and there. Yeah. And that's not
- 29:24Speaker 2: on Vic Fangio. The penalties aren't on Vic Fangio, who's
- 29:27Speaker 2: up in the booth.
- 29:28Speaker 1: However, I'm going to give the Eagles defensive coaching this
- 29:32Speaker 1: week a straight up B.
- 29:34Speaker 2: What do you give them? Yeah, yeah. It's tough.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 29:39Speaker 2: What they're going to do. It's tough because I really do.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I don't want to say it, but but John Campbell's
- 29:46Speaker 3: a problem in past coverage right now. And with that liability.
- 29:51Speaker 3: you know, the stinking fish in the room, everything's stinking.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:54Speaker 3: So I don't want to say that he stinks because
- 29:58Speaker 3: I think he could still grow to be a very
- 29:59Speaker 3: good player, but it's like a, you know, it was
- 30:03Speaker 3: like a Dory Jackson at a certain point last season.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Now Dory came back and had a really good season,
- 30:09Speaker 3: but at certain points, if a Dory was on the field,
- 30:12Speaker 3: it was just a problem. And that's what's going on
- 30:14Speaker 3: right now with John Campbell. So I'll go with the B.
- 30:17Speaker 3: You'll go with the B as well.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I want to say B +, but again.
- 30:23Speaker 3: They just couldn't get these guys off the field every
- 30:27Speaker 3: time except for the two times they needed to.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Look, when we talk about offensive coaching with Nick Sirianni
- 30:35Speaker 1: and Sean Mannion here, Matt, and I'm going to give him.
- 30:38Speaker 2: A straight up F. I'm giving these guys an F.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It was a poor fucking coaching– from decision-making to being
- 30:46Speaker 1: prepared at the end of the day, this coaching staff
- 30:50Speaker 1: offensively gets an F from me. As I mentioned earlier
- 30:55Speaker 1: in the themes, there were, there were two turnovers in
- 30:58Speaker 1: this game. Eagles got 10 points off those turnovers, but
- 31:01Speaker 1: they were in a really, really good field position in
- 31:04Speaker 1: order to get those 10 points. There was so much
- 31:07Speaker 1: lack of movement, not to mention again, The lack of
- 31:11Speaker 1: third down doing anything there. 0 for 12 on third down.
- 31:16Speaker 2: This team has only gotten two third downs.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Over two weeks of football play going back to last
- 31:22Speaker 1: week against the Chicago Bears.
- 31:23Speaker 2: This is an F totally for me. I don't know.
- 31:26Speaker 2: What are you giving these two offensive these two offensive minds?
- 31:31Speaker 3: I think– well, obviously the listeners think I thought what
- 31:34Speaker 3: you said was hilarious, especially.
- 31:36Speaker 4: At the beginning of it.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I want to– I'll give them a D minus. I'll
- 31:41Speaker 2: give them a.
- 31:41Speaker 3: D minus because of what they were cooking with because
- 31:45Speaker 3: at NFL wide receivers, you were going out there. Dontavian
- 31:48Speaker 3: Wicks I would say is probably a B player. You've
- 31:51Speaker 3: got Darius Cooper, Mekhi Lemon. You're not really cooking with gas.
- 31:55Speaker 3: And they still stayed in– so some of their plays–
- 32:00Speaker 3: May have been watered down by the lack of just
- 32:03Speaker 3: because a lot of times it's just a.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Lot of raw talent that's making these incredible plays.
- 32:07Speaker 2: So, yes, yes.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But they've got to turn the page. They've absolutely got
- 32:13Speaker 3: to turn the page right now. And I don't mean
- 32:16Speaker 3: that in just like the psychological way. They need to
- 32:20Speaker 3: take this as motivation that right now what's going on
- 32:24Speaker 3: is not good enough. Exactly.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Exactly. Exactly.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I think that's a perfect way to end that particular segment.
- 32:31Speaker 1: And let's talk about the MVP, the LVP, the least
- 32:35Speaker 1: valuable player, which we've also dubbed the doo-doo butter award.
- 32:39Speaker 2: MVP of this game.
- 32:41Speaker 1: It's hard to actually figure out who's going to be
- 32:44Speaker 1: the MVP of this particular game because I'm going back
- 32:48Speaker 1: and forth, believe it or not, between two different individuals
- 32:51Speaker 1: in this game. And I am going to actually end
- 32:54Speaker 1: up going with Darius Cooper. Yes, he only caught three
- 32:57Speaker 1: balls on the day for 33 yards, but those two
- 33:00Speaker 1: touchdowns were absolutely critical.
- 33:02Speaker 2: He had an amazing catch.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Again, he mossed Lake, which was fantastic in and of itself.
- 33:11Speaker 1: But I was also thinking about Jake Elliott, too. Really,
- 33:14Speaker 1: the fact, and not just because of today. Yes, we're
- 33:16Speaker 1: just grading today's game. But psychologically, where Jake Elliott is,
- 33:20Speaker 1: he's in a good place where he's able to make
- 33:22Speaker 1: a 56-yard field goal and then some. There was definitely
- 33:26Speaker 1: some room on that field goal. But I am going
- 33:29Speaker 1: to go with Darius Cooper as the MVP in this game.
- 33:31Speaker 1: He only had 33 yards. He averaged 11 yards per
- 33:34Speaker 1: reception on seven targets. But still, I'm going with Darius Cooper.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Who's your MVP of this particular game here, Matt?
- 33:43Speaker 2: I got to go with Darius Cooper as well.
- 33:45Speaker 3: My honorable mention, I would say Reek Willen. I think
- 33:49Speaker 3: had a really good game. Despite the fact that you
- 33:50Speaker 3: look at the box score and, you know, Nakua and
- 33:54Speaker 3: Adams made plays.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Those guys are going to make plays. They're just amazing.
- 33:57Speaker 2: And they got it. I was thinking of Michael Carter.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I was thinking of Michael Carter too, because he had
- 34:01Speaker 1: three passes defended, you know, there's something to be said
- 34:04Speaker 1: for that.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 34:07Speaker 1: The least valuable player in this game. Who gets the
- 34:10Speaker 1: doo-doo butter award? I am going specifically with Cam Juergens because,
- 34:15Speaker 1: my goodness, I have no idea what has happened to
- 34:17Speaker 1: this particular gentleman on the offensive line. Yet again, playing horrendously,
- 34:23Speaker 1: whether it is in pass protection, whether it is in
- 34:26Speaker 1: run blocking. We saw it in the first half. We
- 34:29Speaker 1: saw it in the second half, too, folks. I mean,
- 34:32Speaker 1: Tank Bigsby and.
- 34:34Speaker 1: And Will Shipley were getting some chunk yards every now
- 34:38Speaker 1: and again before they were called back for a penalty.
- 34:41Speaker 2: And Cam Juergens is just nowhere.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I mean, he is just– he's holding guys. Matt, pull
- 34:47Speaker 1: back the curtain, folks. I said to Matt before we
- 34:48Speaker 1: hit the record button, Cam Juergens is holding guys and
- 34:52Speaker 1: not getting called.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I mean, ridiculous holds.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I think the refs felt badly for how bad he
- 34:57Speaker 1: was playing today. Cam Juergens is my doo-doo butter award.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Who's your least valuable player in this one?
- 35:04Speaker 2: I'll go with you.
- 35:05Speaker 3: On that because he is– because Markel Bell, I was,
- 35:10Speaker 3: I wanted to give it to the whole offensive line,
- 35:12Speaker 3: but really my lot of plays pretty well.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Kendall is playing fine for his position.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yep. Maybe they need to move, but, but what the.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Hell what's wrong with Lent Lampkin?
- 35:24Speaker 3: Why don't they put, why don't they move can Jurgens
- 35:27Speaker 3: back to his original spot, which is center.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Cause he's just not powerful enough there.
- 35:31Speaker 2: He's getting bull rush.
- 35:33Speaker 4: He's getting his ass whipped.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I mean, it's just painful to watch because this guy
- 35:38Speaker 3: was highly touted and he's looking to be the next page.
- 35:42Speaker 3: People are talking about, okay, well, this could be the
- 35:44Speaker 3: offensive line of the future.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Jason Kelsey wanted him. Like, Jason Kelsey was like, he's
- 35:49Speaker 1: the guy.
- 35:50Speaker 2: At center, not left guard. Right, right.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So let's get somebody in there at left guard who's
- 35:58Speaker 3: ready to go because, I mean, the fact that they
- 36:00Speaker 3: can't run the psychologically– You've got the psychological plus, like
- 36:06Speaker 3: you mentioned a second ago, of Jake Elliott being able
- 36:08Speaker 3: to hit 50-plus. So that changes the play calls you
- 36:11Speaker 3: have to make. You call plays with a certain confidence,
- 36:15Speaker 3: but then you lose the confidence of, hey, if we
- 36:18Speaker 3: get to.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Fourth and two or third and two or third and one,
- 36:22Speaker 4: third and inches even, with this offensive line, I have
- 36:25Speaker 4: some trepidation about that.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Absolutely. Great word. Trepidation.
- 36:30Speaker 1: There's a lot of trepidation with this Eagles team as
- 36:33Speaker 1: we have ended week four here. And we're looking to
- 36:36Speaker 1: week five as they're going to be taking on the
- 36:37Speaker 1: Jacksonville Jaguars over across the pond. And, and it's going
- 36:43Speaker 1: to be, that's going to be an interesting game next
- 36:46Speaker 1: week for sure.
- 36:47Speaker 2: So buddy, I think we're going to end things here.
- 36:50Speaker 2: You got anything else to close us out here?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Oh, no, I, I, I, Zach Ertz certainly can get open.
- 36:57Speaker 3: I think he's going to need to hit the jugs machine.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I think, I think I'm not, I've seen him get
- 37:01Speaker 3: tackled enough. If it, even as we get later into
- 37:06Speaker 3: the season, it didn't seem like they were really confident
- 37:10Speaker 3: in Eli Stowers anyway.
- 37:11Speaker 4: So it looks like it's going to be Ertz in
- 37:13Speaker 4: there playing a lot.
- 37:14Speaker 3: So, Hey, those were not the Zach Ertz hands that
- 37:17Speaker 3: I remember from, from that exactly today. Cause if he
- 37:21Speaker 3: had those, he would be a lot more trustworthy.
- 37:23Speaker 4: It would change things up. So that's it. That's a
- 37:25Speaker 4: theme to leave everybody off with.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Sounds good.
- 37:28Speaker 1: He is Matt Rogers from the honorable mention podcast folks.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And where, where are you out on the socials? If
- 37:35Speaker 2: anybody wants to follow you out there, buddy.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Threads threads is the main one. It's a P O
- 37:39Speaker 3: L I T I D O P E. It's a
- 37:43Speaker 3: lot of fun. Mostly just, just sports. I don't, I
- 37:46Speaker 3: don't talk about the other stuff that Jeff and I
- 37:47Speaker 3: are crazy.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Exactly. Exactly.
- 37:52Speaker 1: At Politidope over on Threads. Again, the honorable mention podcast.

- 38:06Speaker 1: 2026-2027 season to the Los Angeles.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Rams by a score of 24-20.
