- 0:11Corbie Mitleid: us."
- 0:11Corbie Mitleid: I had no idea how I'd do it, really.
- 0:13Corbie Mitleid: I don't.
- 0:14Corbie Mitleid: All I know is that I get my ego out of the way and find the tool that spirit uses.

- 1:06Raymond Aaron: Wisdom you would never find out about on your own.
- 1:10Raymond Aaron: And who is it this time? Corby Mitleid.
- 1:13Raymond Aaron: She has been doing readings since the early 1970s.
- 1:20Raymond Aaron: Oh my gosh, she's traveled coast to coast and even up to Canada.
- 1:25Raymond Aaron: Ooh, ah, as an intuitive counselor and inspirational speaker and facilitator.
- 1:31Raymond Aaron: She's got, she's got, if you could imagine this, what she's got like these framed certificates
- 1:38Raymond Aaron: all around her walls for every different thing there is related to readings.
- 1:43Raymond Aaron: She prides herself on being a practical intuitive, despite her elegant clothes and table trappings.
- 1:50Raymond Aaron: Most people say sitting with her is a comfortable, safe experience that feels like they're with a
- 1:55Raymond Aaron: long-time friend. And that's what I'm counting on. Corby, are you with us?
- 2:01Raymond Aaron: Absolutely. It's good to be here, Raymond.
- 2:03Raymond Aaron: Well, I'm excited about it. And you're not the typical person that I interview,
- 2:11Raymond Aaron: but on the other hand, I like interviewing non-typical people. And so you, in some weird
- 2:18Raymond Aaron: sense you fit right in and to my dear subscribers you know me I sometimes bring you my best friends
- 2:26Raymond Aaron: because you know them Dr. John Gray, Jack Canfield, all the usual suspects but I love bringing you
- 2:34Raymond Aaron: stealth wisdom so stay with me whether you believe in tarot cards or not what the heck
- 2:40Raymond Aaron: give me 20 minutes and let's see what you think afterwards and she's got a gift for us at the end
- 2:47Raymond Aaron: So, Corby, when you were a little girl and some giant called an adult came up to you and said,
- 2:55Raymond Aaron: "What would you like to be when you grow up?" Did you say tarot card reader? Or did you say,
- 3:02Raymond Aaron: "I want to be the president of the United States," or "I want to be an astronaut"?
- 3:05Raymond Aaron: What were you thinking back then?
- 3:07Corbie Mitleid: An actress, absolutely. I was the theater kid in high school, went to Brown University
- 3:14Corbie Mitleid: as a theater major, acted in New York.
- 3:16Corbie Mitleid: The psychic work was always on the side, until 9/11.
- 3:21Corbie Mitleid: -Oh, tell us.
- 3:23Corbie Mitleid: -All right. A quick 30-second how I got into doing it.
- 3:27Corbie Mitleid: When I was 9, I read a book called "The Witch Family"
- 3:29Corbie Mitleid: by Eleanor Estes, and instead of thinking,
- 3:31Corbie Mitleid: "Ooh, that's scary," or "Ha, ha, ha,"
- 3:33Corbie Mitleid: I thought, "Angel pointings."
- 3:35Corbie Mitleid: I knew there was magic in the world,
- 3:37Corbie Mitleid: and I wanted to go find it.
- 3:38Corbie Mitleid: Fast forward to 1973, when I was a senior in high school,
- 3:42Corbie Mitleid: working part-time at Spencer Gifts.
- 3:45Corbie Mitleid: That was the year Living That Guy came out and Spencer had
- 3:48Corbie Mitleid: the James Bond 007 Tower deck and I bought it because we were all hippies though.
- 3:53Corbie Mitleid: I read for friends for 20 years,
- 3:56Corbie Mitleid: keeping my ego out of the way,
- 3:58Corbie Mitleid: being a clear channel, all of a sudden in the early '90s,
- 4:01Corbie Mitleid: I could do hands-on healing and talk to dead people,
- 4:03Corbie Mitleid: which is when the universe handed me my draft notice and said,
- 4:06Corbie Mitleid: "Hello, you're working for us."
- 4:08Corbie Mitleid: but always part-time until 9/11 as I watched the towers burn.
- 4:13Corbie Mitleid: I turned to my husband and I said,
- 4:15Corbie Mitleid: "I'm going to need to do that work full-time.
- 4:17Corbie Mitleid: People need to know there are other answers out there."
- 4:20Corbie Mitleid: He said, "I believe in you, go do it."
- 4:22Corbie Mitleid: Since then, six days a week, 14 hours a day,
- 4:25Corbie Mitleid: I read about a thousand people a year,
- 4:27Corbie Mitleid: and I get to get up in the morning.
- 4:30Corbie Mitleid: I don't have to get up in the morning.
- 4:32Corbie Mitleid: That's the difference.
- 4:33Raymond Aaron: Wow.
- 4:34Raymond Aaron: - Wow, you have that many clients that you're busy
- 4:37Raymond Aaron: for so long a period, every single day, wow.
- 4:41Corbie Mitleid: - Yes, because the readings, some of them are five minutes.
- 4:45Corbie Mitleid: I have one particular one that takes me 12 hours
- 4:47Corbie Mitleid: to put together.
- 4:48Corbie Mitleid: And I do free reading hours on social media
- 4:53Corbie Mitleid: where I can read 40 people in an hour.
- 4:55Corbie Mitleid: I do a spiritual expo.
- 4:57Corbie Mitleid: So that's where the thousand people a year comes in.
- 5:01Raymond Aaron: Now, I have had experience in speaking to each of my parents after they passed.
- 5:08Raymond Aaron: And it was, first of all, I didn't believe it. My sister turned me on to it and I said,
- 5:14Raymond Aaron: it's baloney. If they're dead, they're dead. That's it. That's period. End of the sentence.
- 5:19Raymond Aaron: And then it was so startling to me. But also, I didn't believe it. I didn't believe it. And yet,
- 5:26Raymond Aaron: But it was absolutely true because each parent said something to me that only that person
- 5:35Raymond Aaron: and me know about.
- 5:37Raymond Aaron: No one else could have known it.
- 5:39Raymond Aaron: And so it's true, but I don't know why it's true.
- 5:44Raymond Aaron: And if you can hear the soul of dead people, then how come I can't?
- 5:50Corbie Mitleid: We each have 10 fingers.
- 5:52Corbie Mitleid: Why can't I play piano like Elton John?
- 5:54Corbie Mitleid: Some people have talent, some people are content to play chopsticks, some people say, "I really
- 6:01Corbie Mitleid: love this," and they practice and they learn to read, and one in a hundred million is Elton
- 6:06Corbie Mitleid: John.
- 6:06Corbie Mitleid: I am not saying I'm Elton John level with gay people.
- 6:10Corbie Mitleid: But when I do this work, I'm in service.
- 6:13Corbie Mitleid: I take my work seriously, but me not so much, okay?
- 6:16Corbie Mitleid: And I'm very fussy.
- 6:19Corbie Mitleid: I will not say, "I see a woman in a flower dress handing you a rose.
- 6:22Corbie Mitleid: It's your grandmother.
- 6:23Corbie Mitleid: Oh, please, can I vomit now?"
- 6:24Corbie Mitleid: It's terrible.
- 6:25Corbie Mitleid: It's vague.
- 6:27Corbie Mitleid: So, I do what I call get the dog tags.
- 6:30Corbie Mitleid: For instance, my father, Jerome Richard Dorkin, who died in 2001 at the age of 80.
- 6:35Corbie Mitleid: Notice that tells me nothing, but it gets me into the energy right away.
- 6:38Corbie Mitleid: And then my guides, for some reason, play charades.
- 6:41Corbie Mitleid: They smoked, they had surgery, there was an accident.
- 6:43Corbie Mitleid: Now, I never know.
- 6:45Corbie Mitleid: When we get things that I couldn't know, then I open the door and my client gets to speak
- 6:51Corbie Mitleid: directly to them.
- 6:52Corbie Mitleid: And I remind people, we are not dial-a-dad.
- 6:55Corbie Mitleid: If Uncle David's on a field trip, he will not be by the phone.
- 6:58Corbie Mitleid: Now, there's a reason I won't do this in public,
- 7:00Corbie Mitleid: and that's because I don't censor.
- 7:02Corbie Mitleid: And I will tell the PG story.
- 7:04Corbie Mitleid: 20 years ago in upstate New York,
- 7:07Corbie Mitleid: I was reading for a woman.
- 7:09Corbie Mitleid: She was part of a biracial, same-gender couple.
- 7:12Corbie Mitleid: The black partner had died, and her white widow
- 7:15Corbie Mitleid: wanted to speak to her.
- 7:16Corbie Mitleid: Now, your audience can't see me, but this
- 7:18Corbie Mitleid: is this cute little suburban face from Cherry Hill, New
- 7:20Corbie Mitleid: Jersey, I'm a manners.
- 7:22Corbie Mitleid: But what came out of my mouth in flawless urban ebonics
- 7:25Corbie Mitleid: is a couple of sentences that would never
- 7:27Corbie Mitleid: come out of this mouth, and I will not put it
- 7:29Corbie Mitleid: on the podcast with you.
- 7:30Corbie Mitleid: And I was aghast.
- 7:32Corbie Mitleid: But the woman in front of me broke out laughing and nodding
- 7:36Corbie Mitleid: because those particular sentences
- 7:38Corbie Mitleid: were what her partner, Isabel, walked into the house
- 7:40Corbie Mitleid: with after every business trip.
- 7:42Corbie Mitleid: Wow.
- 7:43Corbie Mitleid: That's not "It's a Rose She Loves You."
- 7:46Corbie Mitleid: I have no idea how I do it, Rhea.
- 7:47Corbie Mitleid: I don't.
- 7:53Corbie Mitleid: - All I know is that I get my ego out of the way
- 7:55Corbie Mitleid: and I'm the tool that spirit uses.
- 7:59Raymond Aaron: - Okay, so is it a gift or is it learning
- 8:03Raymond Aaron: because you've got all kinds of certifications?
- 8:06Corbie Mitleid: - It's both, it's both.
- 8:08Corbie Mitleid: Even Ellen went to the London Conservatory
- 8:11Corbie Mitleid: to learn to play.
- 8:13Corbie Mitleid: And we all have different talents.
- 8:15Corbie Mitleid: When you say to the universe, okay, I take my draft card.
- 8:21Corbie Mitleid: The universe looks inside to see what you're good at.
- 8:23Corbie Mitleid: Theater training.
- 8:24Corbie Mitleid: I understand character arcs, stories.
- 8:28Corbie Mitleid: I'm a writer, words are my drug of choice
- 8:30Corbie Mitleid: so I can tell the stories.
- 8:32Corbie Mitleid: And I have loved history since I was a wee thing.
- 8:36Corbie Mitleid: So I'm really good with past lives.
- 8:39Corbie Mitleid: On the other hand, I have a slight benign tremor
- 8:41Corbie Mitleid: in my right hand, don't ask me to read a pendulum.
- 8:44Corbie Mitleid: I'm not sure I'm getting it real.
- 8:46Corbie Mitleid: And don't ask me to do spirit art
- 8:48Corbie Mitleid: because I cannot draw a stick finger
- 8:50Corbie Mitleid: with a sharp pencil and a lot of prayer,
- 8:52Corbie Mitleid: not in my wheelhouse.
- 8:54Corbie Mitleid: So if it's something you dearly love
- 8:57Corbie Mitleid: and you wanna work at it,
- 8:58Corbie Mitleid: I'm sure the spirit can get it going.
- 8:59Corbie Mitleid: We're all wired like the same house plant.
- 9:02Corbie Mitleid: We are.
- 9:03Corbie Mitleid: Nobody is wired differently.
- 9:05Corbie Mitleid: It's just that they've learned to run the engine.
- 9:07Corbie Mitleid: That's all.
- 9:08Raymond Aaron: - Okay.
- 9:09Raymond Aaron: So disguise the name of the person, of course,
- 9:14Raymond Aaron: but tell us your best story, your best client story.
- 9:18Corbie Mitleid: - Okay, this one is about past lives.
- 9:21Corbie Mitleid: And a woman came to me and said,
- 9:24Corbie Mitleid: "I don't know what to do about my son.
- 9:26Corbie Mitleid: He's 29.
- 9:28Corbie Mitleid: He won't live more than a mile from me.
- 9:30Corbie Mitleid: He won't make any important decisions
- 9:31Corbie Mitleid: without checking with me first.
- 9:33Corbie Mitleid: This is not normal.
- 9:35Corbie Mitleid: Can you help?"
- 9:36Corbie Mitleid: And so then I opened up, went upstairs,
- 9:39Corbie Mitleid: and in about 20 seconds I said, OK, I'm
- 9:42Corbie Mitleid: seeing 1944, Utah Beach.
- 9:44Corbie Mitleid: Said, this is D-Day.
- 9:46Corbie Mitleid: Your son is a soldier.
- 9:47Corbie Mitleid: He's down.
- 9:48Corbie Mitleid: He's got shrapnel in his leg.
- 9:49Corbie Mitleid: He's bleeding out.
- 9:50Corbie Mitleid: You're his commanding officer.
- 9:51Corbie Mitleid: You scream all over the dunes.
- 9:53Corbie Mitleid: You grab him.
- 9:53Corbie Mitleid: You pull him to safety.
- 9:55Corbie Mitleid: You both get shrapnel, but you both live.
- 9:57Corbie Mitleid: And I open my eyes, and she's very pale.
- 9:59Corbie Mitleid: She says quietly, can you see my rank?
- 10:02Corbie Mitleid: I said, yeah, you were a sergeant.
- 10:03Corbie Mitleid: She goes, he's called me serge since he
- 10:05Corbie Mitleid: three years old and we've never known why. Wow. Second story. Woman was always interested in the
- 10:12Corbie Mitleid: Civil War, had no idea why. She lived nowhere near one of the sites. Her parents weren't
- 10:17Corbie Mitleid: interested. So again, close my eyes, I see it. Okay. I'm seeing a small white washboard with a
- 10:23Corbie Mitleid: lower ceiling. There's a little old whizzing black woman in the bed. She's dying. They're
- 10:29Corbie Mitleid: two very tall gentlemen. They are so tall their heads have to bend over. One's a military uniform,
- 10:34Corbie Mitleid: one is civilian. You are kneeling by the bed. The dress looks to be about 1861 or '62, which would
- 10:41Corbie Mitleid: be right because, you know, you weren't in fashion at that point. Dark gray, black suitage around the
- 10:48Corbie Mitleid: sleeves, peplum and hem. And all of you were grieving because this woman was so close to
- 10:53Corbie Mitleid: getting to the end of the Underground Railroad that you had all worked on, but she was dying,
- 10:57Corbie Mitleid: she couldn't make it. I'm opening my eyes and this woman is crying in front of me. She says,
- 11:02Corbie Mitleid: I've had that dream for 20 years.
- 11:04Corbie Mitleid: Exactly.
- 11:05Corbie Mitleid: I've never learned what it meant.
- 11:06Corbie Mitleid: Oh, my gosh.
- 11:08Corbie Mitleid: That's when a past life is important.
- 11:10Corbie Mitleid: Do not come to me and say,
- 11:11Corbie Mitleid: I must have been Anne Boleyn
- 11:12Corbie Mitleid: because I can't wear turtlenecks
- 11:14Corbie Mitleid: because I'll send you out the door.
- 11:16Raymond Aaron: Very. You're funny.
- 11:18Corbie Mitleid: I've done stand up comedy about you
- 11:20Corbie Mitleid: thinking psychic's life is easy.
- 11:21Raymond Aaron: So yes, I will.
- 11:22Raymond Aaron: Well, let me tell you my story
- 11:24Raymond Aaron: and you can comment.
- 11:26Raymond Aaron: Sure.
- 11:27Raymond Aaron: My father died
- 11:28Raymond Aaron: and he was a taxi driver all his life.
- 11:31Raymond Aaron: And the license number on the side of his door was 1207.
- 11:37Raymond Aaron: So all my life, when I was downtown, if a taxi went by of my dad's color,
- 11:43Raymond Aaron: then I would look at the door to see if it was my dad.
- 11:46Raymond Aaron: 1207. I got so addicted to it that even if it was
- 11:50Raymond Aaron: an other cab company of a totally different color, I would still look.
- 11:54Raymond Aaron: And I got even more addicted when I was in another city.
- 11:57Raymond Aaron: I would look for 1207.
- 11:59Raymond Aaron: Anyways, my mother and father had the most dysfunctional relationship where she was an
- 12:06Raymond Aaron: extreme bully and he was a victim. And so she laid out crap and he took it. And he wasn't educated.
- 12:16Raymond Aaron: And I really had trouble talking to him when he was alive. And even though I didn't believe it,
- 12:20Raymond Aaron: I took my sister's word and I hired this lady, went to her suburban home. I thought it would be
- 12:30Raymond Aaron: And she told me the rules that if he comes,
- 12:33Raymond Aaron: he doesn't have to come, but if he comes,
- 12:35Raymond Aaron: he's gonna share something with you
- 12:37Raymond Aaron: that only you and he know.
- 12:39Raymond Aaron: And the day after he died,
- 12:41Raymond Aaron: I was at the office getting nothing done.
- 12:44Raymond Aaron: And I said, "Gee, I'm hungry."
- 12:45Raymond Aaron: And I looked at my watch and it said 12 o' 7.
- 12:48Raymond Aaron: And I said, "Hi, dad."
- 12:50Raymond Aaron: And then I went to eat.
- 12:51Raymond Aaron: And then late at night, I said, "Gee, I'm getting tired."
- 12:55Raymond Aaron: I looked at my watch and it said 12 o' 7.
- 12:58Raymond Aaron: And I said, "Hi, Dad, there are only two 1207s in any day."
- 13:04Raymond Aaron: And I was seeing one or two of them
- 13:07Raymond Aaron: every day for a couple of weeks.
- 13:08Raymond Aaron: It was really shocking.
- 13:10Raymond Aaron: Anyways, I go to see this lady, Carolyn,
- 13:13Raymond Aaron: and she says, "I think your dad just came in the room
- 13:17Raymond Aaron: and he's saying, 'Clock, clock, clock, clock.'"
- 13:19Raymond Aaron: I'm saying, "Clock? What the heck's clock?"
- 13:22Raymond Aaron: And then I remembered 1207.
- 13:24Raymond Aaron: And I said, "Oh, I know what he means."
- 13:27Raymond Aaron: And then dad said to me, I hear you every time.
- 13:32Raymond Aaron: Every time I saw 1207 on my watch,
- 13:35Raymond Aaron: and I said, hi dad, I hear you every time.
- 13:39Raymond Aaron: Nobody could know that.
- 13:41Raymond Aaron: And then I asked him a question.
- 13:43Raymond Aaron: Your wife, my mother, was such a bitch to you,
- 13:47Raymond Aaron: but you always seem to be happy.
- 13:48Raymond Aaron: Were you happy or were you just covering it up?
- 13:51Raymond Aaron: And he said something he could have never said
- 13:53Raymond Aaron: while he was alive.
- 13:55Raymond Aaron: He said, "The style of life I chose doesn't matter.
- 13:58Raymond Aaron: It's whether I achieve my six intentions."
- 14:01Raymond Aaron: I said, "Wow, dad, did you?"
- 14:04Raymond Aaron: He said, "I achieved four and I didn't achieve two."
- 14:07Raymond Aaron: I said, "Dad, tell me which ones you got
- 14:10Raymond Aaron: and which ones you didn't get."
- 14:11Raymond Aaron: And he said, "That's for me to know."
- 14:13Raymond Aaron: And he left.
- 14:14Raymond Aaron: And I have been sold on past life
- 14:19Raymond Aaron: and communicating with the,
- 14:20Raymond Aaron: you're not communicating with the dead body.
- 14:23Raymond Aaron: The dead body is dead.
- 14:24Raymond Aaron: You're communicating with the soul of the dead body
- 14:27Raymond Aaron: and the soul can't die.
- 14:29Raymond Aaron: And so as much as I detested it and thought it was stupid
- 14:33Raymond Aaron: and regretted even going there,
- 14:35Raymond Aaron: and halfway there I was on the verge of turning around
- 14:39Raymond Aaron: and driving back 'cause it was so silly.
- 14:41Raymond Aaron: I went through with it and it was a real life changer
- 14:44Raymond Aaron: for me, but I have no idea how to do it
- 14:47Raymond Aaron: as a full-time career.
- 14:49Raymond Aaron: So you are a magician in my eyes.
- 14:52Corbie Mitleid: - Well, if you love it, you do it.
- 14:54Corbie Mitleid: It's like anything that's entrepreneurial.
- 14:57Corbie Mitleid: Your business will change.
- 14:59Corbie Mitleid: When I first started doing this,
- 15:00Corbie Mitleid: I was traveling a great deal.
- 15:01Corbie Mitleid: I would record sessions on cassette tapes.
- 15:05Corbie Mitleid: Now, between my age of 70, the world has changed
- 15:10Corbie Mitleid: and we have social media.
- 15:12Corbie Mitleid: I do everything on Zoom, TikTok, Patreon, Twitch,
- 15:19Corbie Mitleid: and you have to move with the world.
- 15:24Corbie Mitleid: but as long as you do it for what it's meant for,
- 15:27Corbie Mitleid: helping people find their answers,
- 15:29Corbie Mitleid: giving them strength,
- 15:30Corbie Mitleid: showing them that they can change their own lives,
- 15:34Corbie Mitleid: it's not up to any Gerbers or any self-help master.
- 15:37Corbie Mitleid: I'm doing my job.
- 15:38Raymond Aaron: - Right.
- 15:39Raymond Aaron: Now, considering this a job,
- 15:42Raymond Aaron: I'm gonna ask you a really tough
- 15:44Raymond Aaron: and wildly inappropriate question.
- 15:46Corbie Mitleid: - Yes, I pay my taxes.
- 15:48Corbie Mitleid: (laughing)
- 15:50Raymond Aaron: - Can, have you had a failure?
- 15:52Corbie Mitleid: Have you-
- 15:53Corbie Mitleid: - Of course, geez Louise.
- 15:56Corbie Mitleid: Are you talking about failures of clients
- 15:57Corbie Mitleid: or failures of business or what?
- 15:59Raymond Aaron: - No, someone comes to you, says,
- 16:01Raymond Aaron: "I wanna speak to my dad," and you just can't deliver.
- 16:05Corbie Mitleid: - Absolutely, and I tell them,
- 16:06Corbie Mitleid: "I'm really sorry, but I'm just not connecting.
- 16:09Corbie Mitleid: I'm not your person."
- 16:10Corbie Mitleid: And if I can, I send them to another intuitive
- 16:13Corbie Mitleid: that I know and trust.
- 16:15Raymond Aaron: - Oh. - For instance,
- 16:16Corbie Mitleid: I can do some health stuff, but I'm not the best.
- 16:19Corbie Mitleid: To me, my buddy, Stacy Wells,
- 16:20Corbie Mitleid: is the best medical intuitive in the US.
- 16:23Corbie Mitleid: I send you there.
- 16:25Corbie Mitleid: Yeah, I can talk to my own Maine Coon Cats,
- 16:27Corbie Mitleid: but I'm not an animal communicator.
- 16:29Corbie Mitleid: I send you to Catherine Knack,
- 16:31Corbie Mitleid: who's in the UK, but a dear friend.
- 16:33Corbie Mitleid: That's part of being a professional intuitive.
- 16:35Corbie Mitleid: You never take money for what you can't do.
- 16:38Corbie Mitleid: And if you can't help your client,
- 16:40Corbie Mitleid: if you can, you send them to someone you know
- 16:42Corbie Mitleid: and trust that will.
- 16:44Corbie Mitleid: - Wow.
- 16:45Raymond Aaron: I thought it would be a tough question,
- 16:47Raymond Aaron: but it was a really interesting question.
- 16:49Corbie Mitleid: - I've written a book called,
- 16:51Corbie Mitleid: "You've Got the Magic Who Needs a Genie"
- 16:52Corbie Mitleid: that is everything I learned in 18 years on the road
- 16:56Corbie Mitleid: for this kind of a business.
- 16:57Corbie Mitleid: My nickname was the Travel Channel.
- 17:00Corbie Mitleid: So I did it specifically so people who are intuitives
- 17:05Corbie Mitleid: or in the holistic field had a business manual
- 17:08Corbie Mitleid: that wasn't, let's bring,
- 17:10Corbie Mitleid: this is how you open up your pharmacy.
- 17:12Raymond Aaron: - Tell me the title of your book again, it was fascinating.
- 17:15Raymond Aaron: - "You've Got the Magic, Who Needs a Genie?"
- 17:18Raymond Aaron: That's one of my--
- 17:19Raymond Aaron: - Ha, ha, ha.
- 17:20Raymond Aaron: you have the magic, who needs the genie?
- 17:23Raymond Aaron: - That's right.
- 17:24Raymond Aaron: - But I don't think I have the magic.
- 17:25Raymond Aaron: I don't think I can speak to people who passed.
- 17:30Corbie Mitleid: - Then you won't.
- 17:31Raymond Aaron: - Ooh.
- 17:32Corbie Mitleid: - It's like the old saying by Henry Ford,
- 17:36Corbie Mitleid: whether you think you can or you can't,
- 17:38Corbie Mitleid: whatever you believe in, right?
- 17:40Corbie Mitleid: But this is one of the reasons
- 17:41Corbie Mitleid: that the book we've mostly been talking about
- 17:44Corbie Mitleid: is called "The Psychic Yellow Brick Road,
- 17:46Corbie Mitleid: How to Farm the Real Wizards and Avoid the Flying Monkeys."
- 17:49Corbie Mitleid: It is not a book that tells you how to be a psychic.
- 17:52Corbie Mitleid: There are 60,000 books out there like that.
- 17:55Corbie Mitleid: This is a book on how to choose a psychic,
- 17:57Corbie Mitleid: what we can do, what we can't do,
- 17:59Corbie Mitleid: what questions are appropriate, when to get up and leave,
- 18:03Corbie Mitleid: 'cause there are no books out there to keep you safe.
- 18:05Corbie Mitleid: And I don't care if you never come to me
- 18:08Corbie Mitleid: after you buy that book.
- 18:09Corbie Mitleid: If it helps you in any session
- 18:12Corbie Mitleid: with an intuitive consultant that you go to, I did my job.
- 18:15Corbie Mitleid: And that is the gift that your listeners
- 18:19Corbie Mitleid: is going to get, it's the first two chapters of that book.
- 18:23Corbie Mitleid: I have it in a short ebook called "Psychic Answers"
- 18:25Corbie Mitleid: that I will be happy to send them.
- 18:27Raymond Aaron: - Wow, wow.
- 18:29Raymond Aaron: So I'm so stunned by this that I'm out of question.
- 18:33Raymond Aaron: (Ramon laughs)
- 18:34Raymond Aaron: Really, this is a very bad trait for a professional speaker
- 18:38Raymond Aaron: to be lost for words, very bad habit.
- 18:42Corbie Mitleid: So is- - Ramon,
- 18:44Corbie Mitleid: I have done 400 podcasts in the last 10 years.
- 18:47Corbie Mitleid: you could ask me about mashed potato recipes
- 18:49Corbie Mitleid: and I'd have it like that.
- 18:51Raymond Aaron: So please don't be hard on yourself.
- 18:53Raymond Aaron: - Is there a question that you wished I would ask
- 18:56Raymond Aaron: 'cause you have a dazzling answer?
- 18:58Corbie Mitleid: - Not a thing.
- 18:59Corbie Mitleid: That's the other thing is I don't come in here
- 19:02Corbie Mitleid: with a set, I gotta tell them this.
- 19:04Corbie Mitleid: I just open up, look at my guide,
- 19:07Corbie Mitleid: and say, I have no idea what's gonna go on, let's have fun.
- 19:10Corbie Mitleid: And it's always the right stuff.
- 19:13Raymond Aaron: - Are your parents proud of you
- 19:14Raymond Aaron: or are they still scratching their head about what you do?
- 19:18Corbie Mitleid: - My mother, my parents had a relationship
- 19:21Corbie Mitleid: really much like yours.
- 19:22Corbie Mitleid: My mother died in '84 and then my father remarried
- 19:25Corbie Mitleid: an absolute treasure of a woman.
- 19:28Corbie Mitleid: So my mother really didn't understand me at all.
- 19:32Corbie Mitleid: Dad and Shirley understood their daughter.
- 19:35Corbie Mitleid: In fact, when an intuitive from Lillydale
- 19:38Corbie Mitleid: brought my father in about a year after Shirley died in 2009,
- 19:42Corbie Mitleid: they were a riot.
- 19:43Corbie Mitleid: Um, first it was Shirley,
- 19:47Corbie Mitleid: 'cause she had died really suddenly of a heart attack.
- 19:49Corbie Mitleid: And she said, "But then there was your father."
- 19:52Corbie Mitleid: And he said, "Yes, but, you know, I was late to the office."
- 19:54Corbie Mitleid: He was a cardiologist.
- 19:56Corbie Mitleid: And she goes, "But he was so handsome."
- 19:58Corbie Mitleid: He said, "That's probably why you died.
- 20:00Corbie Mitleid: You couldn't stand my handsomeness."
- 20:01Corbie Mitleid: And this is just coming out of the meat of his mouth.
- 20:03Corbie Mitleid: And that was Dad and Shirley.
- 20:05Corbie Mitleid: So, even for those of us who do it,
- 20:09Corbie Mitleid: when we get our dead people with that kind of love and humor,
- 20:13Corbie Mitleid: It's it's just a treasure and it tells us yes, what we do is real Wow not just reading somebody else's mind
- 20:20Raymond Aaron: It's what we do is real. Okay, so instead of looking backwards in the genealogy. Let's look forwards. Do you have children?
- 20:27Corbie Mitleid: No, I knew when I was 13. I was born without the mommy gene
- 20:31Corbie Mitleid: I'm a terrific aunt but now I knew that I would be raising re-raising myself and
- 20:37Raymond Aaron: Children were not part of the mix. Okay, but you're a great aunt
- 20:41Raymond Aaron: Do your nephews and nieces understand what you do?
- 20:44Raymond Aaron: Do they think you're crazy or they love you or what?
- 20:48Corbie Mitleid: - I didn't know about my niece, but my nephew does.
- 20:50Corbie Mitleid: When he was 13, he said to me,
- 20:52Corbie Mitleid: "Are we our souls or are our souls bigger than us?"
- 20:55Corbie Mitleid: And I said, "Robert, darling,
- 20:57Corbie Mitleid: I am not allowed to discuss this with you as a minor.
- 21:00Corbie Mitleid: When you're 18, we'll talk."
- 21:02Corbie Mitleid: When he was 18, we did.
- 21:04Corbie Mitleid: He absolutely believes on what his aunt does.
- 21:09Corbie Mitleid: and I will very often sign letters,
- 21:12Corbie Mitleid: TPSA, the psychic sneaky aunt,
- 21:14Corbie Mitleid: because we always talk about this
- 21:16Corbie Mitleid: away from everyone else in the family.
- 21:18Corbie Mitleid: - Why can't you talk to him till he's of age?
- 21:21Corbie Mitleid: - Because his parents did not believe in
- 21:24Corbie Mitleid: or approve of what I did.
- 21:26Corbie Mitleid: - Oh, I see.
- 21:27Corbie Mitleid: - There are people in my family who think that to this day
- 21:30Corbie Mitleid: that I'm still just a carny elf who steals people's money.
- 21:32Corbie Mitleid: Well, let it be well.
- 21:34Corbie Mitleid: You can't do what I've done full time
- 21:37Corbie Mitleid: for almost 25 years and be a fake.
- 21:40Corbie Mitleid: So.
- 21:41Raymond Aaron: - Wow.
- 21:42Raymond Aaron: So your career is like set,
- 21:45Raymond Aaron: you've got clients over the world,
- 21:48Raymond Aaron: you're happy and you know how to handle success,
- 21:52Raymond Aaron: you know how to handle, let's call it failure.
- 21:54Raymond Aaron: If you don't deliver, you refer.
- 21:57Raymond Aaron: What's the, are you just gonna keep doing it
- 21:59Raymond Aaron: or is there a next day?
- 22:01Corbie Mitleid: - Oh yeah, I, oh no, no, no.
- 22:02Corbie Mitleid: I tell people I'm gonna be doing it
- 22:04Corbie Mitleid: until I'm two weeks dead,
- 22:05Corbie Mitleid: that I'll flip my sign from psychic to spiel guy,
- 22:07Corbie Mitleid: keep the office.
- 22:09Corbie Mitleid: (laughing)
- 22:10Raymond Aaron: - You got to put in your resume that you're really funny.
- 22:15Corbie Mitleid: - Oh, it's on my website on the little intro video.
- 22:18Corbie Mitleid: Trust me.
- 22:20Corbie Mitleid: And the thing is, because I make people laugh,
- 22:23Corbie Mitleid: their shielding goes down.
- 22:24Corbie Mitleid: It's easier to get the information in.
- 22:27Corbie Mitleid: I don't come across like a lot of psychic students,
- 22:29Corbie Mitleid: you know, my aura don't stink,
- 22:30Corbie Mitleid: just listen to me and shut up.
- 22:32Corbie Mitleid: When someone sits down with me,
- 22:33Corbie Mitleid: I look at him and say, "What is the most important thing
- 22:35Corbie Mitleid: "you wanna walk out of here knowing?"
- 22:37Corbie Mitleid: If they go blank on me, I go Brooklyn on them,
- 22:39Corbie Mitleid: and I go, "Darling, what's biting your butt?"
- 22:41Corbie Mitleid: Boom, they will know what they came to see you about.
- 22:44Corbie Mitleid: I will start talking.
- 22:45Raymond Aaron: - And I need to tell you something very coincidental.
- 22:49Raymond Aaron: - Oi.
- 22:50Raymond Aaron: - It's actually 12/07.
- 22:53Raymond Aaron: - Hi, Dad!
- 22:54Raymond Aaron: - Hi, Dad.
- 22:55Raymond Aaron: Thanks for saying that.
- 22:57Raymond Aaron: Hi, Dad.
- 22:58Raymond Aaron: And so if my dad is saying anything,
- 23:01Raymond Aaron: He's saying, "End the show, you nailed it, son."
- 23:04Raymond Aaron: So you said you had something really nice for us.
- 23:08Raymond Aaron: At least, what do you have for us?
- 23:11Corbie Mitleid: - This is an ebook that has the first two chapters
- 23:14Corbie Mitleid: of the "Psychic Algebra" grade.
- 23:16Corbie Mitleid: The first one is "Psychics 101,
- 23:18Corbie Mitleid: How to Find a Great Psychic,"
- 23:20Corbie Mitleid: and then "Psychics 102,
- 23:21Corbie Mitleid: How to Prep for a Great Psychic Experience."
- 23:24Corbie Mitleid: And I will be happy to immediately email that out
- 23:27Corbie Mitleid: to anyone who says,
- 23:29Corbie Mitleid: I saw you, I heard you on Raymond's show.
- 23:32Raymond Aaron: - But how did they connect with you?
- 23:34Raymond Aaron: - Corby@corbymitleid.com.
- 23:36Raymond Aaron: - Corby@corbymitleid.com.
- 23:38Raymond Aaron: And Mitleid is spelt a bit unusually, M-I-T-L-E-I-D.
- 23:45Corbie Mitleid: - It's a chosen name, it's not my legal name.
- 23:48Corbie Mitleid: Corby is Gaelic for raven,
- 23:50Corbie Mitleid: because those are my favorite birds.
- 23:52Corbie Mitleid: And Mitleid is the German word for compassion,
- 23:55Corbie Mitleid: to always remind me why I do the work I do.
- 23:57Raymond Aaron: Wow. Corby@corbymitleid.com. That goes directly to you.
- 24:04Raymond Aaron: Yep.
- 24:04Raymond Aaron: You will chat with them and then send them whatever ebook they want.
- 24:09Corbie Mitleid: Um, no, it's a matter of just write to me and say, I heard you. I'd like the free gift and
- 24:15Corbie Mitleid: out it goes.
- 24:16Raymond Aaron: I heard you. Raymond Aaron's podcast.
