- 0:49SPEAKER_04: Welcome to 2021.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: Happy New Year, everyone.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: Hell year's over.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: We made it past the hellish year that was 2020.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: The shit year is gone.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: And now we can begin a new shit year.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Yay.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Although hopefully like slightly less shitty.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: I mean, I feel like the bar is literally so low.
- 1:11SPEAKER_04: The bar is like we like we dug a hole and buried the bar under the earth.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Why would we do that, you guys?
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: Because we needed it to be lower so we could have something to clear.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: You're not wrong.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: Damn.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Well, with that, like chipper.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Great right start.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Again, happy new year, everyone.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Welcome to 2021.
- 1:36SPEAKER_04: Welcome to Dungeon Pedia.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Dungeon Pedia.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Welcome back.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: RN.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Nothing's really gonna change that much starting off.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: We're still just nerd and out.
- 1:47SPEAKER_04: Same place.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: Same, same nerdy place, same equipment.
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: Nerdy time.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: Different shitty year.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: Different topics.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, yes, definitely different topics.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, we're not just gonna rehash the same old again.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: That would be weird.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: That would be like some fucking uh groundhog day shit.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: That would be let's not groundhog day anything that happened.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: Some of my early episodes I look back and I'm like, I kind of want to do that again because I know I could do it better now.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Yes, but that just shows our progress.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Let's get down to it then for the topic uh today.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: And the very first topic of 2021.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, what is our very first topic of 2021?
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: The Githyanke.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Githyanki?
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Githyanki?
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Githyanke.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I've always pronounced it Yankee, but it probably is Yankee in all honesty.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: I've I've always pronounced it get Yankee in my head.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, same.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Well, now I have to look up the actual pronunciation because that is something I didn't do during my research.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's par for the course.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Like, that is that was not on our list of New Year's resolutions.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: It should have been for us to learn how to pronounce things, but it wasn't.
- 2:59SPEAKER_04: Because you shouldn't make New Year's resolutions that are too lofty for you to achieve.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: Like we're never we're not gonna learn how to pronounce things, guys.
- 3:06SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, so um, first off, yes.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Looking at the pronunciation isn't terribly helpful for me.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: What the hell does that like weird A-E combination symbol A.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: It makes an A sound like daemon.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Wait.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: I think Yay?
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it'd be Yankee then.
- 3:26SPEAKER_04: So then you're gonna be.
- 3:26SPEAKER_04: Holy shit, you're right.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: Oh wow! Thank! Give it up for Travis! I did it.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: I think Gith Yonke sounds better.
- 3:34SPEAKER_04: I also think Geth Yonke sounds better, but they didn't consult me on the pronunciations of things in Dungeons and Dragons, because had they, a lot of them would be very different.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: So but uh thank you to Angus Kirk.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Angus.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: I don't know what we're thanking you for yet, but thank you.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: I'm assuming it was a suggestion.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: For this suggestion, had I been allowed to finish my statement.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: I just wanted to I just wanted to thank him.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: I'm very excited.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Angus.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Uh Angus sent us an email and listening to bullshit.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Second suggestion, I believe he has sent us.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Uh this one was much broader because uh specifically he asked for the Gith, the Gith Yankee, and the Githeri.
- 4:18SPEAKER_04: That's a lot of Gith.
- 4:19SPEAKER_04: Okay, I know that I know that two of those are are extant things, but okay.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: So quick note that I found, which I thought was pretty interesting.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: The term Gith Yankee first appeared in George R.R.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Martin's novel Dying of the Light in 1977.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: Huh.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Um, then used by Charles Strauss, who at the time was a writer for the White Dwarf magazine, which is a long-running magazine published by a British gaming manufacturer called Games Workshop.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: It was published in the what is that?
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, magazine number 12.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Um there was an interview I found with Charles Strauss that basically said that he took the name, but none of the details, and then added them into the Fiendfolio for first edition.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Huh.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: And from the little bit I kind of understood is I guess even in the original novel, uh, there wasn't a whole lot of explanation behind the Gith Yankee anyway.
- 5:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: So he just kind of took it and ran with it.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: Maybe they're gonna be in the Winds of Winter.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Not that we'll ever know.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: Anyway.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: So a general description, and this pretty much sticks solidly through the entire, well.
- 5:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Up to the point that I got in my research because heads up, this is going to be a multi-parter.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: I think I'm gonna have a heart attack of not surprise.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and this episode specifically is more about the Gith Yankee more than the Githeri.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Why do we keep doing this to ourselves?
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: That's a very good question.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, because it's fun.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: So uh Gith Yankee are tall, slender humanoids with rough, leathery yellow skin and bright black eyes that were sunken deep into their orbits.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: It says bright black eyes.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: It also is used as like kind of shiny black eyes.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Got it.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: So their eyes just kind of like glisten, I guess.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: They have these like long angular skulls with like small, highly placed, like flat noses.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Theirs are pointed and serrated on the backside.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: Ooh! Serrated.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Serrated.
- 6:49SPEAKER_03: Dang.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: And uh generally they have red or black hair that they will put into most of the time like a knot of some sort.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: And pointed teeth.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: Lewin is under the trout.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: That was easy.
- 7:06SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: Lewin, I sure am.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: I sure am.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: So uh the Fiendfolio for first edition, published in 1981, their alignment, it says, is variable, but is always evil of some kind.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: And that more or less sticks true as well.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: They're almost always evil of some sort.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Whether it's chaotic evil or neutral evil.
- 7:29SPEAKER_04: Or lawful evil.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Or lawful evil.
- 7:31SPEAKER_04: Those are the three types of evil.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: They're usually almost always some kind of evil, minus some very few and far between Exceptions.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Exceptions where they're something else.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Can be considered something else, but that's if the DM wants to like write them in as an outlier.
- 7:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Um so they are a race of humanoid creatures that were dominated by the mindflayers millennia ago.
- 7:59SPEAKER_05: Ooh.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: So it's not exactly specific on what race they were from prior.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Some sources say that they were humans, and some say that they were still just some other humanoid race that were enslaved.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Either way, they are humanoid regardless.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and because the the illicit love enslaving people.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: And that's exactly what they did.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: They would use them as slaves mostly.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Uh from time to time they would choose, quote, choice victims as food.
- 8:41SPEAKER_04: That's some choice victims.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: That's some choice wording right there.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, choice victims as food.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Um, because of how long they were enslaved with the mind flayers, they slowly began to build up a minor tolerance to the mind controlling effects that they had on them.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: That's intriguing.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Some of them started to develop psionic powers because of it.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: So gradually, and obviously very much in secret, they would develop these powers and the strength of them so they could eventually free themselves.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we love a good slave revolt here.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Um eventually a female by the name of Gith stepped forward.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: She was the strongest of all of them.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: She had the strongest like mental fortitude and everything else.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: And she led the rebellion against the Mindflayers.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: It was a very long and vicious struggle, and eventually they did win their freedom.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Fuck yeah.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: After that, at this point, it says they became known as the Githyanki and quickly gained a reputation for being powerful psionics and very deadly fighters.
- 9:59SPEAKER_03: Hell yeah.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Um, they live in the astral plane, and sometimes if they're going to the material plane, they will project themselves to the material plane, but not actually travel there physically.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: That's so fucking smart.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: Can we talk about how smart that is?
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, it is a really smart move.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Like they have this ability to project themselves to the material plane.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: They're not gonna go there physically until they know where they need to go.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: That's yeah, that's the move, honestly.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Because they'll project themselves and then they'll scout out areas and eventually go and set up all these very small, like, refuges.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Refuges, yeah.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Refuges, black.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: Like uh, like encampments got that.
- 10:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, gotcha.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Uh underground that they would then use as bases for raiding humans and mindflayer settlements.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Um, they always have a constant war against mindflayers.
- 10:58SPEAKER_04: I wonder why.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Just gonna throw that out there.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: For some unknown bizarre reason, they really hate mineflayers.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: So weird.
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:08SPEAKER_04: Um I mean I get it, mineflayers fucking suck.
- 11:11SPEAKER_04: Like even not bearing in mind their shirt history with the Gith Yankee.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: Get Yankee, whatever.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: Uh, Mindflayers fucking suck.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: They think they're suck.
- 11:18SPEAKER_04: They're cool, but in the context of the of the world, they fucking suck.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: They do have someone that they worship, and the term worship is used lightly.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Um, she is a Lich Queen.
- 11:31SPEAKER_05: Fuck yeah!
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Please entered the chat.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: And in first edition, uh is said to have powers at the 24th level of magic use, and possibly even higher.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Um that's double that's double what there there has ever been, if I remember.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: Because there are like there was the one 12th level spell, and then Mistress said, no, nobody is gonna fucking use that anymore.
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: And then banned anything above nine.
- 12:01SPEAKER_04: It was something like that.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: Nine.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: So there's like twelfth, twelve, twelfth, twelve known levels.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: Uh she just said, fuck that.
- 12:11SPEAKER_04: Double it.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Nope, double it.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: I want two of it.
- 12:14SPEAKER_04: Double or nothing.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: She got her double.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Um, they live in these like huge castles, apparently, within the astral plane.
- 12:24SPEAKER_04: That like that, based on what the the 12th level spell Cars' Avatar did, that would be like like the the power creep would be like universe ending.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Like that's like a a literal like nuclear bomb.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: Monotheistic god powers, like monotheistic, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent god powers.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: And to be honest I would worship her too if she if she did like what?
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, I'm just stuck on that.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: To be honest, there is nothing that I have read that says anything about her being like held back by any sort of power to where she couldn't just rise up and be like, hey, I own I own everything.
- 13:09unknown: What the fuck?
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, I'm stuck on that.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: No, I I'm with you.
- 13:14SPEAKER_04: And it's just I can't move past it.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: It's pretty it's pretty insane.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, gonna have to move past it.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Damn it.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: So each uh castle is ruled by a supreme leader.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Supreme leaders wield these special silver swords, and it's only the supreme leaders that wield them.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: They are plus five fully vorpal blades that affects mind barred victims.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: Is one of their names Snoke?
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, I guess it could be.
- 13:46SPEAKER_04: Stupid.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: Stupid.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: Okay, so when you say affects mind barred victims, does that mean like it's more effective on uh creatures that have been psychologically scarred, let's say?
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: I believe so.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Basically, if it's using that in battle, it's gonna use it more against an enemy that has already been affected by the psionic abilities of the Githyanka.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: Wow, I can't talk.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: Githyanka?
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: Githyanka!
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: That dare Githyanka.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: Those turn Githyankas and their vorpal swords.
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: So I don't know why it was just so funny the way you said it.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: This is a fun fact, and I actually have more information about this particular part later on.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Apparently the Githyanke have a pact with a group of red dragons.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, I remember this! Which, in return for shelter, food, and treasure, the red dragons will assist them while on the prime plane acting as their steeds.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: I remember I think I read about this in um the the um um um Planar Dragons episode.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: You probably did.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Because the Oh fuck.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Most of the information that I have that explains more of like their whole backstory comes from uh Guide to the Astral Plains.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure you've probably read it.
- 15:13SPEAKER_04: Fuck yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 15:15SPEAKER_04: Loon's hype.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Loon's hype.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: I because I remembered reading about that from the other side, and I was like, oh, well, maybe one of these days one of us will do an episode on the Githianky.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: That's it happened! Yay! So we have some very brief information coming from the Ecology of the Mindflayers, uh, from Dragon Magazine 78 in 1983.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: So I read through this when I read the Mindflayers episode.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: So if you'll recall, a lot of it from this article was basically a group of fighters that were planning on raiding a Mindflare encampment.
- 15:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: And they sent out a message into the Astral Plane for anyone who knew more about them to aid them in exchange for gold.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Well, it was a Githyanke knight who responded and told them about the Mindflayers.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Um, this is where their psionic strength is kind of like demonstrated outside a battle.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Because at one point the knight tells them he can read a hundred questions in your minds.
- 16:19SPEAKER_05: Oh my god.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: So he's able to read like everybody's minds as he's just standing there.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Astral projecting, by the way.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: He is not physically there, he has projected himself there.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Um, this is also the first time we hear about the fact that the Githyanke and the Geth Zerai are very different and hate each other to an extreme point.
- 16:42SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Because one of the members mentioned the Githeri.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: The knight basically just like screamed out in rage and called this Githeri mad traitorous wretches.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: What happened?
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Give me the tea.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: I've got that information a little bit later.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Don't worry.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Well, I always worry.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: Fair.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: So jumping to the monstrous compendium from Spelljammer, Appendix 1, for a second edition that was released in 1990.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Um, they the Gith Yankee are a pretty big part of the Spelljammer era.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: That's not the word.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: History?
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: History.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Sure, let's go with that.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: In this though, we basically had a third faction that was mentioned that's separated from the original Gith faction, which were the pirates of Gith.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: I I do love me some pirates.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: They're space pirates.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Fuck yeah! Fuck!
- 17:42SPEAKER_04: Fuck.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: So this branch.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: You say space pirates, and I think about the criminally underrated masterpiece treasure planet, and I just fucking die.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: Fuck I love it.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: I've never seen it.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Okay, guys, we're taking our break now.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: We'll be back in like an hour and a half.
- 18:01SPEAKER_04: No.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: But okay, but like Taylor, you need to have to remedy.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: I'll make him uh it's on an ongoing list of things that he has to watch.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: We'll bump it up.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Big watcher of things in general.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Well, too bad.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: So instead of fleeing to the astro plane, this branch instead decided to flee to the arcane space.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: The arcane space?
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: The arcane space.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: It's basically the setting of spell jammer.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: It's the whole space.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, gotcha.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: That's the space I like to play in.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Um these ones appear slightly differently.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: They are tall, emaciated beings that look almost like skeletal humanoids.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: I thought Githianki already kind of looked like that.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: They do.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: These ones are more like their skin is very like tight against their bones.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: They don't appear to have a whole lot of muscle to them.
- 18:57SPEAKER_04: They look like actively emaciated instead of just like thin.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, gotcha.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Uh their skin varies from like a dirty gray to dirty yellow with long, dingy brown hair.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: They sound lovely.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: Um, they often prefer conditioner and some vitamin C serum.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: It'll be fine.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're in space.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: I'm sure that can't do wonders for the hair or skin.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 19:23SPEAKER_04: I've never thought about it, but yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, I don't know what it would do, but probably nothing good.
- 19:29SPEAKER_04: See, me neither, but I'm sure it's not like great for you.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: No, probably not.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know though.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Um, so they often wear this really like ornate bejeweled like arms and armor.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Their weapons are always like very much fancy and pirate aesthetic.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Uh these ones are lawful evil.
- 19:52SPEAKER_04: What?
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: They're pirates.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm not They're pirates!
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, but you have to remember, lawful really just kind of falls into kind of organization.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_04: They're not just indiscriminately killing and eating each other, therefore they're lawful.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: Man, they're pirates! Man, how are you gonna Oh How are you gonna say pirates are lawful?
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: I'll be quiet.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: They operate from small bases built on asteroids and try to capture any ship that is larger, faster.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Fast or faster or better armed than theirs.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: That doesn't seem like the move.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Um their greatest fury, however, is reserved for any Ilithids.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: No.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Any space illithids.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Space flares.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: They will spare no expense to kill any Ilithid that they come across, and they will never use a captured Ilithid ship, even if it is stronger or better than the other.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 20:56SPEAKER_04: So that's that's their MO, is that they They just refuse to use their enemies anything.
- 21:02SPEAKER_04: Well, no, no, no.
- 21:03SPEAKER_04: That they that they like break into someone else's ship and then like they're like a hermit crab.
- 21:09SPEAKER_04: Like then they move in there and they use that one.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, unless it's an ill.
- 21:14SPEAKER_04: Unless it's an illithin.
- 21:15SPEAKER_04: That's what I'm saying.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: For non for non-ilithid.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: See, I thought they just indiscriminately went around basically wanting to fight anyone who was bigger than them just because, instead of like as an actual I mean, there is a reason that they'd want to capture ships larger and better than theirs.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: And I'll explain that here in a second.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: So the whole pirate philosophy kind of carries over into every aspect of their life.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: The whole like sh the strongest can take what they want sort of thing.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: Lawful.
- 21:47SPEAKER_04: Lawful.
- 21:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, you're right though.
- 21:52SPEAKER_04: I guess.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Uh huh.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Each ship is very important to the crew because that is the primary factor in.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Determining their pecking order.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Whoever has the largest, most well-armed ship is top of the pecking order.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: So that's why they will continuously look for a better one because if you can capture one that's better than the person above you, you suddenly switch places.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:22SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: Um, they will live with no other races.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: They're incredibly recluse.
- 22:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: And sometimes will even attempt genocide on any race that settles near them.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: So they're oh my.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: They're pretty xenophobic, you would say.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Xenophobia's in space.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: Uh they will often prefer to take any elven ship that crosses their path because they have unique organic structure that gives them a special ability.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 22:55SPEAKER_04: So fuck, we need to do we need to do more um stuff about spelljammer.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: We really do.
- 23:02SPEAKER_04: Spelljammer.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: But let me talk about elves for a minute.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: But let's talk elves.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Let me let me focus on elves.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: No, you haven't wanted to talk about elves at all.
- 23:15SPEAKER_04: I don't know what an elf is.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: I'm just like, let me focus on the elves.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: So while at the helm of an elven-made ship, a Gith can use their plane shift and astral spell abilities to shunt the entire ship and its contents to the astral plane.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: What?
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Which allows them to retreat from combat without like losing much of their ship or crew if they become outgunned.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: And in turn, they can then wait in known shipping lanes that are astrally hidden before returning back to the prime to launch an attack.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: Ooh, that's so cool.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: They are very smart boys.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: They're very smart.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: Like they can use it as just an ambush tactic.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Ay, man.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: I'm very impressed.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:00SPEAKER_04: Fucking Gith Space Pirates.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: We really do need to cover more spelljammer though.
- 24:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that sucks.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: So cool.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Um, let's see.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: We have the Monsters Compendium.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: Outer Plains Appendix from second edition in uh 1991.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: And here we actually learn what Gith Yankee means in their own Gith language.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Gith tongue.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: And it means sons of Gith.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's right.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: Or sometimes children of Gith, depending.
- 24:32SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, depending on.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Either way, some descendant of Gith, basically.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 24:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because you know, she was their their leader of their slave revolt and all that.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know.
- 24:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Is she the the Lich Queen that they worship?
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: Gith, no.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Mmm.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: But that would be kind of cool.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: There's a good reason for that.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, oh, ooh! Okay.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: So what I found kind of fascinating is there has never been a Gith Yankee that will progress past the 11th level of experience.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: This is for one of two reasons.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: Uh the first one is once one of them advances to 9th level, they are tested by the Lidge Queen.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: This test involves surviving in one of the lower planes for several weeks on their own.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: With failure obviously meaning death.
- 25:26SPEAKER_04: And that probably happens pretty often, because a lot of them are very uh inhospitable.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: And if one does happen to reach the twelfth level, it is only very briefly because they are then immediately taken out of the Astral Plane into the presence of the Lich Queen, where their life force is then fed on by the Lich Queen.
- 25:47SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Because she fears that one might become stronger than her to overthrow.
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think they will if she's in a fucking 24th level.
- 25:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, I was so I was so caught up in the space pirates that I forgot about that.
- 26:05SPEAKER_04: And how that just like rips open a hole in everything.
- 26:10SPEAKER_04: I mean, in the universe, which she could do with level 24 magics.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:15SPEAKER_04: She's got nothing to worry about.
- 26:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she's fine.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: She's absolutely fine.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: They've got so like they would have to become liches themselves and practice for thousands of years to even come close to.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: They would need Vecna's help, Aceric's help, uh Sally's any of the other Dra any of the all the Draco liches.
- 26:38SPEAKER_04: All of them.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: I couldn't remember one offhand, but you just gotta find her phylactery.
- 26:44unknown: Jesus.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: So it's just oh you won't, because she's gonna use like 24th level illusion and enchantment magic to hide it.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: Good Christ.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Fuck I would.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Good Christ.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know how much anyone remembers from Taylor covering the different planes.
- 27:05SPEAKER_04: I don't know how much Taylor remembers from Taylor covering the different planes.
- 27:08SPEAKER_04: There are there's a tree and sometimes it's circles.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: That's what I remember.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, so circle.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Um due to the environment of the Astral Plane, the Githyanke have had to evolve certain specialized groups for like specific tasks.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: One of the biggest ones that they had issues with was food.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: Because the Astral Plane is mostly just a barren, empty nothingness.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: So they have um what's basically the equivalent of farmers for the Gith Yankee, and pronouncing all these words is gonna be hell.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: So for these, if I can pronounce it, I would say it's probably the Glack Glat Glathk.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Glath.
- 27:56SPEAKER_04: Well, you know, you're you're already one for one on pronouncing Gith Yankee.
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: So Yeah.
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: That's a win.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: That is a win.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Glas Gla Glath.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: Gla Glass.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Um these are specialized farmers where they built these artificial chambers where they grow like fungi and other plants that don't require sunlight.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Mushroom mushroom farmers.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: They are also experts in aquatic plant life.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: And sometimes they will tend gigantic water gardens.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: And then you have the Malar, which are basically just their architects.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: So instead of uh using their powers to become like wizards and fighters, these Githyanke use them to design and construct the buildings that the Githyanke used.
- 28:52SPEAKER_04: Psionic architects.
- 28:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, it'd be pretty easy to build a building if you could just move the materials needed with your mind.
- 29:01SPEAKER_04: Now, granted, that's actually very physically strenuous to do, but if you had enough of you.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Especially the ones that are like They've worked for Yeah, they are specifically just this.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: This is what they do.
- 29:16SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: Well, is it like never mind, you might get to it.
- 29:20SPEAKER_04: I'll ask in a second.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Then you have the Harachner.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: These are basically energy collectors.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: Pretty much it boils down to there are many types of energy that flow through the astral plane, some of which are unknown to any but physically aware or sorry, psychically aware creatures.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: Because you know.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: If I mean extrasensory perception, you know.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: And these particularly Gith Yankee have learned to use their powers to collect and harness this energy for various things.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Purposes.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: Um, this particular one doesn't explain exactly what they use it for.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: Later on, I found out that they can use them to aid the Malar.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: They will like collect this energy and use it to help them build their structures.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:17SPEAKER_04: And there's a few other things I can't recall at the top of my head, but yeah, they probably shove some of it in like a like a bioderm for their mushrooms, you know?
- 30:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: Make make like glowing holy mushrooms.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: And then it notes uh it notes a few times that the Gith Yankee are very similar to humans, but it also notes that unlike humans, they never war amongst themselves.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, so they're not like humans at all.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Uh I got nothing.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Because you know I'm not wrong.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: There has only ever been one civil war that they've experienced, and that was the separation of the Githyankee and the Githeri.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Again, I will cover more of that here in uh just a few minutes.
- 31:07SPEAKER_04: So are these different like specialized groups of Githyankee, is it just like a job thing?
- 31:16SPEAKER_04: Or is it like a cast thing?
- 31:18SPEAKER_04: Like a selective breeding kind of thing?
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Like you would say this is a It's kind of a it's a job thing mostly.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: Okay, but it's maybe like a you're you're born and they're like, okay, you're gonna be a Malar.
- 31:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and you're gonna build buildings and you're gonna be so good at it, as opposed to like, you know, like We're gonna breed you because we we yeah, we need you to marry this this this woman because her family's really good at growing mushrooms.
- 31:46SPEAKER_04: So that way you continue on the lineage of being good at growing mushrooms.
- 31:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_04: Okay, got it.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Um it did note that some like uh some of the Malars specifically never actually develop the psionic strength to be used in battle.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: So then they'll become architects.
- 32:10SPEAKER_04: So there are some that aren't able to I mean I get I guess the the mind-breaking capabilities of psionics might be something that a Malar couldn't really use.
- 32:23SPEAKER_04: But like the same telekinesis you used to slot a brick in place on a building can also be used to drop a brick on someone's head.
- 32:29SPEAKER_04: So I I enjoyed that um analogy very much.
- 32:34SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 32:35SPEAKER_04: That's one of my yeah, it's one of my proverbs for my cult that I'm starting.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: Hmm.
- 32:40SPEAKER_04: Which one of the random DD gods is it going to be in worship of?
- 32:44SPEAKER_04: We'll find out.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Sooner or later.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: So the rest of the information I have comes from a guide to the astral plane.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: That is the rest of this episode.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: Oh, so are we are we not even is this still second edition?
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: This is still second edition.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: Okay, we're not even leaving second edition.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: I'm not even leaving second edition, and I'm not sure how far we will get into second edition on the next episode.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: It depends on how much information I decide to pull out of it.
- 33:12SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 33:13SPEAKER_04: This okay, well, this year Travis is gonna be the new Taylor.
- 33:17SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 33:17SPEAKER_04: 2021 apparently.
- 33:19SPEAKER_04: And I will never be because I have decided.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: I can't commit to one thing like that for that long.
- 33:27SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, as far as research goes, Taylor, you know I can commit to a friendship for a very long time.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: This is true.
- 33:35SPEAKER_04: I was just gonna leave it.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: I w I can't.
- 33:38SPEAKER_04: Um I can never leave things.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: But before we get to the rest of this lovely information, let's go ahead and take our break.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: God damn it.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: And then we will cover the rest of this particular section of notes.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: Yay! Get part one out of two or three, maybe.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: Hey everyone.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for listening to well, the first episode of 2021?
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: And the first episode on the geth.
- 34:10SPEAKER_04: I don't know why you said that like a question.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: I want it to be different.
- 34:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay, fair.
- 34:15SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: I just figured I'd bring the ad break in with something different this time.
- 34:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: I thought you were confused.
- 34:21SPEAKER_02: We didn't need to change it up every once in a while.
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: I thought you were just confused on kind of like I did with that angle, and I'm sure that's gonna sound amazing in posts.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
- 34:28SPEAKER_04: I'm sure I thought you were just confused on like what year it was, which like same.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Nope, I was just being uh different and weird.

- 35:30SPEAKER_01: I'm fine.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: I want food.
- 35:34SPEAKER_04: I'm tired.

- 35:52SPEAKER_04: To sift through all this gif mess.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: Sometimes they're also very messy, but that's okay.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: That's how notes should be.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, the notes would be helpful in sorting through this.
- 36:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 36:04SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 36:04SPEAKER_04: Travis's notes are messy.
- 36:06SPEAKER_04: No, Travis has beautiful notes.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: Thanks.
- 36:09SPEAKER_04: Also beautiful are accounts on Twitter and Instagram at Dungeonpedia.

- 36:20SPEAKER_04: Weird, quirky, different stuff.

- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: Some of the fun spells and crazy stuff.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: That's more so on that's almost all exclusively on the Twitter page.
- 36:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.

- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: So just it's just that most people are not on their computers.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: I'm always on my computer.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: Playing Final Fantasy.
- 37:52SPEAKER_02: Shh.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: And most importantly, which you can do uh no matter what device you're on.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: Write the words.
- 37:58SPEAKER_02: Or no device.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: Or no device.
- 38:00SPEAKER_02: You can do it with, you know, words and talking.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: We don't know anything about words and talking.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: To your friends and family.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: Because we're so gosh darn bad at it.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: Tell uh anyone who wants to start off the new year with some absolute craziness.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: Just send them this episode and specifically tell them listen to the ad break.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if if if your friends have been down on them on themselves about how like he's been like functioning as a human being.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: Stupid they are.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: And you'll see that well, we are like that too.
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: We're all like.
- 38:35SPEAKER_04: Except for Alexander Nakarata, who made our theme song Blacksmith, and is probably a lot more functional than we are.
- 38:44SPEAKER_02: He like the song is flawless.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: True.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: So thank you.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: Very true.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Alexander.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: And with that, let's get back to some words that actually make some sense.
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: And that's kind of insane to say.
- 38:57SPEAKER_04: Because it's in the Gith language.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: And it's also Dungeons and Dragons.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: Let's go.
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: Gith me more.
- 39:08SPEAKER_05: I should have forgotten.
- 39:10SPEAKER_05: No.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: No, it didn't.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: It was actually very hard to say.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: I I was not ready for that.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: I wasn't either.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: I was dumbstruck.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: I didn't like it.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: I wasn't either yet.
- 39:21SPEAKER_04: I didn't I didn't run that past the filter.
- 39:24SPEAKER_04: I like it.
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: So like it just kind of I didn't like it.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: A A plus.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: No, no, I don't deserve that.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: So, a guide to the Ashleplane.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Second edition, 1996.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: Same.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: October.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Oh no, not same.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: I actually have no idea if it was like that or not.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: I was just going with it at the time.
- 39:42SPEAKER_04: Not the same.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: So here we finally get more background on the leader Githu.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: Fuck yeah.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: The history of the Gith Yankee.
- 39:50SPEAKER_04: Fuck yeah.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: So, like I said before, Gith was stronger in mental strength and resolve than the rest.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: So she was the one that was able to lead the rebellion.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: During said rebellion, uh, Gith told the slaves not to kill every Illiph or destroy every stronghold.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Which is likely why some of them still remain.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: I I wonder why she made that decision.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: I'm honestly not even 100% sure.
- 40:15SPEAKER_01: Because the the world would have been a lot better off had she just been like.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, fuck all you guys.
- 40:21SPEAKER_04: Maybe she was trying to do that nice kind of thing that she was trying to be noble.
- 40:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that noble thing that like heroes and every fucking piece of media do where it's like, oh, we're not gonna stoop down to their level.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: We're just gonna murder most of them.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Except they kind of do stoop down to their level.
- 40:36SPEAKER_04: But not all of them.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: Or maybe or maybe patiently.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: Maybe it was just a tactical thing.
- 40:42SPEAKER_04: Like, we don't have we don't, you know, we like we don't have the manpower to do this, so we're just gonna take out these key people so we can like get the fuck out.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, basically she wanted them to destroy enough of the strongholds that severed the tie between all of them.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: Because at this point in time, the Mindflayers had the largest, like, nation, basically.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: Like they were slowly starting to take over the world and no one was quite sure what to do about them.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Uh lead a slave revolt and kill a bunch of them, apparently.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: Duh.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Just kill them.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: Duh.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: Um, so after they won their freedom, Gith then ordered her people to continue their campaign to annihilate the Ilithids and establish an empire of conquest of their own.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: She slept on it after they like.
- 41:32SPEAKER_02: Hey, hold on.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: Something didn't sit right with me there.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: An empire of conquest on their own, huh?
- 41:36SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Well, no, she like slept on it after trying to do that like noble hero thing, and then was like, you know what?
- 41:43SPEAKER_04: No, actually, fuck them.
- 41:44SPEAKER_04: We're gonna go kill all of them now.
- 41:46SPEAKER_04: Fuck that.
- 41:47SPEAKER_04: Which I mean, like, to be fair, like to go back and kill all of them is like, yeah, sure.
- 41:51SPEAKER_04: But maybe an is establishing an empire of conquest, not so much.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: Maybe not that.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: It's a little uh little much.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: Little uh, you know, repeating the cycle, perhaps.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: You know, there were a few people that agreed with you on that one.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: Well, that's good.
- 42:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: Good to know.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: Not everyone followed her commands.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: There was a new figure by the name of Xerthamon.
- 42:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, let me guess.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: Is the Getzerai?
- 42:17SPEAKER_04: Because Z.
- 42:18SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 42:19SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 42:20SPEAKER_04: Eloquent explanation as to why I came to that conclusion.
- 42:23SPEAKER_04: Because a Z.
- 42:24SPEAKER_04: Because he's got a Z in his name.
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: Um, he gained a significant following and eventually challenged Gith's plans.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: Well, that's Oh no, he didn't.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: He uh claimed that Gith was evil and that she would lead the people into darkness and tyranny, not unlike the Iliths.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, y'all are all evil.
- 42:46SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 42:46SPEAKER_04: So, like, is it a surprise?
- 42:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean Yeah.
- 42:51SPEAKER_04: I mean, maybe not from their perspective.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:53SPEAKER_04: And uh you know, from my point of view, Gith Yankee are evil.
- 43:00unknown: Shh.
- 43:01SPEAKER_04: Jesus Christ.
- 43:02SPEAKER_04: Taylor's the one who opened the game.
- 43:04SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 43:04SPEAKER_04: I was my bad.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: I was just gonna leave it, but Taylor opened the Jesus Christ.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Um obviously Gith didn't really take kindly to that.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: So this wound up causing the one and only civil war amongst all of the Gith Yankee and the group led by Xerthamon who wound up calling themselves the Gith Zerai.
- 43:24SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Do we know what that means?
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: Uh Gith Zerai basically means like against Gith, more or less.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 43:33SPEAKER_04: Because Yankee means like child.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was basically like the ones that are against Gith.
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: So the children of Gith versus the um the ones against Gith.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: The the the um Rebels.
- 43:47SPEAKER_04: Uh the the opposition.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: An opposition of.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: That must suck for them to have their whole entire identity based on that, but uh during the battle, Xerthamon was.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Slain.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Rip.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: And then his followers retreated to limbo.
- 44:04SPEAKER_04: Rip.
- 44:05SPEAKER_04: Man, imagine being a parent and naming your child something that basically means like opposition.
- 44:11SPEAKER_04: Because this is said, like, if we're if we're assuming that those have the same like root, you just name your kid like just basically opposition of evil.
- 44:21SPEAKER_04: Oh, could be, yeah.
- 44:22SPEAKER_04: Wait, they're they are evil though.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm saying opposition of good.
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: Again, from a certain point of view.
- 44:29SPEAKER_04: I guess.
- 44:29SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying.
- 44:31SPEAKER_04: Just feels like a weird thing to name your kid.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well.
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: That's fair.
- 44:34SPEAKER_04: Well, no, I'm saying Xerthamon's parents.
- 44:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: Think about it that way.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:38SPEAKER_04: I'm thinking Xerthamon's parents.
- 44:40SPEAKER_04: Like they're like, hey, what are we what are we gonna name our kid?
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: Uh opposition.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: That's not Xerthamon.
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: That's what uh Xerai means.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: Get the Xer.
- 44:50SPEAKER_04: Well, no, no, no, that's what I'm saying, is assuming those words have a similar root.
- 44:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she's I'm assuming those words have a similar root, which they sound similar.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: So Gith forces also sustained like tremendous losses.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: At this point, they were not able to actually continue their conquest because they had lost so much.
- 45:13SPEAKER_04: In the Civil War.
- 45:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: And then Gith led the Gith Yankee to the conquered Ilithid settlements that were on the astral plane to kind of regroup and she basically planned on staying there to where she knew that they would be safest until their numbers could rise back up in order to continue the conquest.
- 45:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Which now included not only killing all Illithid, but also the Geth Zerai.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you might have struck yourself a little bit there.
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:43SPEAKER_04: And so this conquest is taking place on the prime, though, right?
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: Um, no, it's all mostly on the Astral Plane.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: They rarely go to the prime unless it's to pretty much kill Ilitid or anyone that are aiding them.
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, gotcha.
- 45:59SPEAKER_01: And Githarai.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: There was a wizardess by the name of Vlakith, who wound up uh advising Gith in matters of state, and advised her that the Gith Yankee would need allies if they were going to fight against the Githarai and the Ilithid.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Like red dragon allies.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Gith agreed, though she wasn't too happy about it.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't believe it.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: And she attempted to ally with the Slotti, which was Limbo's like native race.
- 46:30SPEAKER_04: Good old sloppy slotties.
- 46:34SPEAKER_04: I don't even know.
- 46:36SPEAKER_04: I don't even know anything about them.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: Their name is just funny to me.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: But for one reason or another, it didn't specify she failed at gaining an allegiance with them.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Maybe because she's evil and possibly a bitch.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: She probably is.
- 46:52SPEAKER_04: Maybe not the best in negotiations.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: Vlokath then advised Geth maybe she should descend into Beator to meet with uh none other than Tiamat.
- 47:04SPEAKER_04: Hey! Tiamat's just like, oh, you must be desperate to come to me.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: Now it says whatever occurred at that meeting is one of the best kept secrets in all the planes.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: They fucked.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: Because only Gith, Tiamat, and one of Tiamat's consorts, which was a red great worm, known as Aphilimon, know what happened.
- 47:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they fucked.
- 47:30SPEAKER_04: They fucked.
- 47:31SPEAKER_04: Like I'm just just saying.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: It's what happened.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: Well, whatever happened, Aphilimon wound up going to the astral plane and instructed Vlackith that Gith named her as the successor and that she was to carry on to Gith's plans as Gith would not be returning.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 47:52SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 47:53SPEAKER_04: Wait, where was did okay.
- 47:56SPEAKER_04: I'm assuming you'll tell us exactly precisely what happened to Gith shortly.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: No, because that's all there is.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: It says Gith doesn't return, and that is it.
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: I literally have no idea what happened to Gith.
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: Whether she decided to stay and be a consort of Tiamat.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: Tiamat ate her.
- 48:17SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, those th those things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, you know what I mean?
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: an eternal pact was made between the red dragons and the Githyanke.
- 48:33SPEAKER_01: Uh this is the pact that I had mentioned earlier, where the red dragons would always aid the Githyankee on the prime.
- 48:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: So whatever happens.
- 48:44SPEAKER_04: I might have talked about that in the Tiamat episode.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 48:47SPEAKER_04: You might have.
- 48:48SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 48:48SPEAKER_04: I've done a lot of episodes about a lot of different kinds of dragons, so I don't know.
- 48:52SPEAKER_04: It's all starting to blur together for you.
- 48:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:55SPEAKER_01: So uh Vlokith and her descendants have since then always ruled the Gith Yankee.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: And over time they kind of lost the resolve and focus of Gith plans, basically.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: Makes sense.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Um the Gith Yankee are now fragmented and form small isolated groups rather than being one unified nation.
- 49:20SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 49:21SPEAKER_04: It's kind of you gotta wonder though, if that was actually what like what happened.
- 49:28SPEAKER_04: Well, I when I say what happened, like if GIF GIF GIF if in internet file format um told uh Ephelimon, like, hey, this I'm not gonna be as vulgar as I wanted to.
- 49:46SPEAKER_04: Um, the the sex is too good.
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: I'm not going back to the astral plane, uh, tell Vlocket to take care of it, peace out.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: Or if maybe something more nefarious happened, yeah, and Tiamat told Ephelimon, like, hey, you're gonna go and you're gonna tell them this, like trying to do her thing where she tries to, you know, gain influence in different organizations.
- 50:12SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 50:13SPEAKER_02: She she would love to have a control on this group.
- 50:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 50:17SPEAKER_04: Like I like to imagine that she and Gith are just like in whatever whatever Tiamat's twisted version of love is, but you know, I'm assuming something more nefarious happened.
- 50:27SPEAKER_04: You gotta you gotta w you gotta wonder though, which it is, because it doesn't it doesn't say what actually happened.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: It doesn't, and I am curious, but guess we'll never know.
- 50:37SPEAKER_04: Unfortunate.
- 50:38SPEAKER_04: Unless something comes out and tells us, which it probably won't.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: Though that would be cool.
- 50:43SPEAKER_01: So while they were slaves, both the Gith Yankee and the Githeri, I mean, obviously because at one point they were the same faction.
- 50:52SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, underwent horrible experiments by the Elithids.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Ah, absolutely.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: They were trying to make them into great warriors for their armies.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Love it.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, love to read about it.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: They were also forced to work in areas that no human was meant to, and these strange energies wound up altering them for all of time.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: Which is kind of how it explains more so how they came to be psionic.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: Psionic.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: Like dealing with these weird energies, these weird experiments, and constantly being mind-blasted.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: Basically gave them the ability to do so.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: Or to to be like it gave them like these inherent magical powers, basically.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Um which all of them can use plane shift, traveling the planes at will.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Though apparently they call it Jez Rothkey, which literally translates to seeping through the cracks.
- 51:51SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's fucking that mental image is kind of bizarre.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: Well, no, not good.
- 51:58SPEAKER_04: Kind of bad, actually, but interesting.
- 52:01SPEAKER_04: So you just like splat against a wall and just like through the wall, reform on the other side.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I take back what I said.
- 52:08SPEAKER_04: Is it just because I made that mouth sound?
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: Their lifespan is in normal conditions double that of a human.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: In normal conditions.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: In normal conditions, but the astral plane's not normal conditions, is it?
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: Time does not pass in the astral plane.
- 52:24SPEAKER_01: And since they mostly live on the astral plane, they tend to live much, much longer than a normal, like two-time human lifespan.
- 52:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: If a Gith Yonke were to spend all of its time on the prime plane, they would live basically two human lives before dying.
- 52:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 180, 200 years.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: But because they live on the astral plane, they live much longer.
- 52:46SPEAKER_04: Well, how do they age then if time doesn't pass?
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: So, see, here's the thing.
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: When you're in the astral plane.
- 52:53SPEAKER_04: I love when I have questions that I think are purely rhetorical and then they actually get answered.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: They this does have an answer.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: When you're in the astral plane, time doesn't pass for you.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: But time does pass pretty much everywhere else, especially like back on the prime plane.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: So when you leave the astral plane, time catches up to you.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: Which can be very bad depending on how long you spend in the astral plane.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like if say you have spent your whole life there.
- 53:21SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: So they developed a spell that stops time from catching up to them when they leave the astral plane.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: Though some of them do not apparently have access to this power, and they're generally the ones that will prefer to never leave.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because that feels like it it it's in spite of everything, it would be like higher level magic.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:44SPEAKER_04: To like, I don't know, mess with time.
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: Especially if they're like older.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:51SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of this weird balance that if they are going to the prime plane, they have to make sure that this stasis basically is on them, otherwise, they will age for however long they've been there and they could just immediately turn to dust.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: Just like shrivel up and die.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: Just immediately.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's kind of strange.
- 54:12SPEAKER_01: Um, their digestive system has also been affected by this whole living on the astral plane thing and has kind of like atrop atrophied slightly because it has long periods of inactivity because food is not required on the astral plane.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 54:28SPEAKER_01: Time doesn't pass, you do not get hungry, you do not get thirsty.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: You don't get sleepy?
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: You don't get sleepy, you pretty much are however you are when you get there, and that's it.
- 54:39SPEAKER_04: Or you get there when you're hungry and you're just hungry for all time.
- 54:43SPEAKER_04: Oh god.
- 54:43SPEAKER_04: No matter how much oh man, that that'd be like a fucked up um like punishment, like Greco, like Greco-Roman type uh, you know, myth punishment.
- 54:54SPEAKER_04: It's like tantalus, but worse.
- 54:57SPEAKER_01: Starve you and then send you to the astral plane where you're just forever hungry.
- 55:00SPEAKER_04: And you just you gorge yourself on food, but it doesn't help.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:04SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 55:05SPEAKER_04: Damn.
- 55:06SPEAKER_04: Anyway, anyway, sorry.
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: But when they do leave, they generally require lots of meat to like make up for the atrophied digestive system.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: They have to get all of these like proteins and calories and everything, like to literally like rebuild their digestive tract.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: So uh astral whales are apparently a common target for hunters.
- 55:30SPEAKER_04: Legumes, tofu, quinoa, but no.
- 55:33SPEAKER_04: Astral whales.
- 55:35SPEAKER_04: Astral whales.
- 55:36SPEAKER_04: Aren't they endangered?
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: No.
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: I was joking about real life whales.
- 55:39SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 55:41SPEAKER_04: Astral whales.
- 55:42SPEAKER_04: Fuck.
- 55:42SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 55:43SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 55:44SPEAKER_01: I have a very important question.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: Are you ready to hear about how they reproduce?
- 55:48SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 55:49SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: I've never been more ready.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: Um, there's actually not a whole lot to it.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: Damn it.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: Um Travis just clickbaited me.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: They have evolved from their human counterparts and they are egg layers.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: Sick.
- 56:05SPEAKER_04: That's weird.
- 56:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's it's I would say it's arguably more efficient.
- 56:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, yes.
- 56:11SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 56:12SPEAKER_02: Are they still mammals though?
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: I mean, mammals can lay eggs.
- 56:16SPEAKER_04: Look a plot of pie.
- 56:17SPEAKER_02: That's fucking right.
- 56:19SPEAKER_04: Um I mean, it never said they were mammals in the first place.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: Well, they have hair, so.
- 56:23SPEAKER_01: They're humanoid.
- 56:25SPEAKER_04: Well, they're humanoid, but that doesn't mean they're mammals.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like uh humanoid lizards exist.
- 56:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah?
- 56:30SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 56:30SPEAKER_01: Dragonborn See, y'all are pulling up all of these questions that I'm now gonna have to find answers to the other.
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: Dragonborn are warm-blooded, but they're not they're not um mammals.
- 56:41SPEAKER_04: Actually, they might be.
- 56:42unknown: Hmm.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 56:44SPEAKER_01: In any case, the reason isn't exactly known why they wound up evolving to lay eggs, but they have two theories that exist.
- 56:53SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: Um, this is either due to the experiments of the Ilithids or basically just the long exposures to all of the strange energies in the astral plane that wound up just affecting them in that weird ass way.
- 57:06SPEAKER_04: It's just like fuck you, you lay eggs now.
- 57:08SPEAKER_04: Also, yeah, I I mean I could I don't know, the Illsid were probably into some weird shit.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 57:14SPEAKER_01: Um, there is always an egg chamber in any like colony.
- 57:20SPEAKER_01: Are you okay?
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: I thought you meant like in their in their physiology, in their bodies.
- 57:27SPEAKER_04: I was like, why is it called an egg chamber dramatist?
- 57:30SPEAKER_01: Um no, it is an egg chamber within their colony.
- 57:37SPEAKER_04: That's what I call my ovaries.
- 57:41SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
- 57:42SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 57:44SPEAKER_04: Oh god.
- 57:45SPEAKER_01: Depending on the size of the community, there could be multiple.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: I'm I just picked the wrong time to take a drink.
- 57:53SPEAKER_01: And uh this is, I guess, obviously, where all eggs are kept and guarded.
- 57:58SPEAKER_04: I almost fucking died.
- 58:00SPEAKER_01: Um, there are no families in the Gith Yankee.
- 58:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's like a communal.
- 58:06SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 58:07SPEAKER_01: The young are raised in like a communal fashion.
- 58:10SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 58:10SPEAKER_04: Well, that's fun.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: Now, to answer your earlier question as to how they age, uh-huh.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: Since you know, time doesn't pass on the astral plane.
- 58:20SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: The caretakers, uh, known as varsh will plane shift the eggs and the young that they are in charge of periodically to other planes in order for them to mature.
- 58:37SPEAKER_01: So at a certain point, they will like plane shift the eggs and see how far along they are.
- 58:43SPEAKER_01: If they wind up hatching or not, then they'll shift back.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: And as the young are growing up, they'll periodically shift back and forth to let them age back and forth to a certain point where the young will pretty much have to stay in the astral plane or stay in like the prime plane or another plane to fully mature.
- 59:05SPEAKER_04: So one would imagine that these um, because I don't know precisely how the spell works, but one would imagine that these varsh, I mean, probably do have access to that spell to stop the catch-up effect.
- 59:17SPEAKER_04: But one would imagine that assuming that that doesn't prevent them from aging, period, the spell, that they would actually be some of the more notable and maybe only people in Get Society to actually age naturally.
- 59:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 59:36SPEAKER_04: Uh possibly.
- 59:38SPEAKER_04: Because I'm assuming the strictures of the spell are just to stop the catch-up effect from moving between the astral plane and the prime.
- 59:45SPEAKER_04: But if they spend like a few years there, they'll I mean like it'll be slow, but they'll age.
- 59:50SPEAKER_04: They will age.
- 59:51SPEAKER_04: So one would imagine that maybe these varsh are some of the only Githyanke that actually get old.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Which is pretty cool to think about.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 59:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, and because of all the hassle and like raising them and the whole like long lifespan of the Githyanke, the birth rate is actually pretty low.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_01: I'd imagine.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: Like they don't have to spawn that much.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_01: Good word choice.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_01: Thanks.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: And this said that as a race, they are undeniably evil.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_01: Aww.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_01: They hate virtually anything that is not Githyanke and will delight in the conquest, enslavement, torture, and destruction of all non-Gith Yankee.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_04: Wait.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_04: Enslavement?
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_04: I mean, I guess that's just one of those kind of cycle effects.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_04: Because you you maybe kind of would think like after they'd spent so long being subjugated, that they would be like harshly anti-slavery, which is sometimes the what happens.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_04: What happens with like racism DD and stuff.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_04: But I think also maybe it's the kind of thing where it's like, if that's all that was modeled to you, that's all the you kind of know.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_04: So it's like, yeah, we were or even like, yeah, we were slaves.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_04: Fuck that.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_04: Let's go, let's go enslave other people because we had to suffer.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: Now, I will say, on that note, they make slaves of their enemies only for a very short period of time, specifically for intense humiliation.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: And then they are ritually sacrificed to the queen.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: Sacrificed?
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: Sacrificed.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: They are ritually sacrificed to the Lich Queen.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_04: Ooh.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_04: Beautiful.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_04: Woo, time to be a sacrifice.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: So, um, first and foremost, when it comes to like their whole culture, I mean they're a warrior race.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_01: Um, all Gith Yankee, doesn't matter, male and female, train for combat as a warrior or a wizard, or in rare occasions, sometimes both.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_01: Battle mage.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_01: Fuck you.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: Um, their rank is not based on their achievements or victories in battle, but instead is based on pure skill.
- 1:02:09unknown: Oh.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_01: Their skill is tested and then classified by higher ranking members where they fall at their current skill level.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: The more powerful you are, the higher ranking you are.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_04: But it actually has nothing to do with like your actual.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_04: So people like me would be fucked because I have no actual skills, but yet sometimes I just manage to luck my way through and do things.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_04: But I have no actual skills.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: Now, this is gonna seem very odd, and it did mention that there's a lot of like contradictions within their culture.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: They consider personal freedoms and individuality of uh very high importance.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_04: Well, mmm, no?
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_04: No that mmm?
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_01: Ignoring the fact that they make slaves even for a short period of time.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_04: They don't make slaves of of of people, though.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_04: They make slaves of non-Gith Yankee.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, anyone that's not them, basically.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so that's probably their distinction in their brain.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_04: Oh, I understand what you're saying.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: No, I'm I'm not saying that that that reds and DD aren't people.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: Now, here's one of the cool parts that I'm sure that you guys are going to do.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_04: So that's that doesn't that doesn't completely not gel.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_04: That makes sense to me.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_04: That they value personal freedoms for Gith Yankee.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_04: AKA actual people to them.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_01: Pretty much.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_01: I'm with it.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_01: Um they express their individuality through dress, art, and combat techniques.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, just like humans.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not wrong.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_01: They tend to use these like large sweeping gestures and sword strikes with like intricate flourishes and like very practiced movement in battle.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_01: Their dress and manufactured items, more so like their armors and weapons, are usually gaudy, elaborate, ornated with special like designs and gems and gold and filigree and kind of like their space pirate counterparts.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_01: They create very elaborate sculptures and paintings, often with what humans would call surrealistic nature.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_01: Oh fuck yeah.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_01: But they claim that the long exposures to all the strange energies gave them the abilities to see things in ways humans cannot, and that their art is actually realistic in how they see it.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_04: Okay, headcanon, they have mantis shrimp eyes.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_04: And they can see like a fuck ton of colors.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_04: At canon time.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_04: I would totally agree with that.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_01: Fuck yeah.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: They also tend to create drama, poetry, and song as well.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_03: Aww.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_01: But these are so strange and often contain psionic elements or references to like astral intricacies that most non-gith Yankee literally cannot comprehend it.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_04: Like they just hear nothing.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_04: They or they hear maybe go ahead, sorry.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just they literally can't comprehend what they're reading or seeing or hearing.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_04: Or maybe they hear part of it, but it comes out this like non or this like a discordant nonsense.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_04: And then you have one like high-level psionic party member that's just weeping at the beauty.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_04: And the rest of the party is like either they can't hear it and they're like, uh, is is is something happening?
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_04: Or they're like, this sounds like shit.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_04: But the either the psionic party members just like falls to their knees weeping.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_04: You don't understand.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_04: You don't get it.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_01: So their societal structure.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: Is pretty much as follows.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_01: You have knights, which actually operate outside of the like normal rankings because they are warriors who are solely devoted to the queen herself and act as her eyes and ears.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_01: Then you have the Gith Warriors, who are the fighters of the Gith Yankee.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_01: And unlike knights, they can actually raise in ranks to become higher-ups.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_01: They wound up pretty much going through and eventually they'll become a Sarth, which is a sergeant, and then a Kithrak or captain.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so kind of like a It's very militaristic.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, military structure.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: Then you have the warlocks, which are basically Githyanke wizards.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_01: Those are two different things.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_01: Ah.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_01: The title has nothing to do with gender, though.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: In their society.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_01: And since magic to them is just another tool or a weapon, warlocks, wizards, it's all the same to them.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: So what they call a wizard could be a warlock or could be a mage or vice versa.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_01: But to them it's all the same.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_01: And they have no greater or lesser spot than any non-wizards.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: Um they tend to prefer like direct destructive spells.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_01: And with some other spells used if an occasion arises.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_01: So they're like evocation specialists.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_04: I wonder if some of their warlocks maybe um are given patronage by um their queen, their weird lich queen.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_04: I don't know if she can do that.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_02: I I also wonder that.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_04: Or maybe because I mean I don't know, I don't know if they can worship other people.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_01: So.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_01: And then you have the Gish, which translates to just skilled.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: And this is a warrior that is trained in both fighting and spellcasting.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_01: Sick! They are rare and very well respected, often becoming leaders or other people of influence.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: And this is also the only multi-class that is allowed into Gith Yankee society.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: And then of course you have psionics, which like about three-fourths of Gith Yankee are what they call wild talents.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_01: Basically, they have the innate ability to become a psionic.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they have like innate psionic powers as opposed to trained.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_04: Like I'm sure they are trained, but you know.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_01: And then a great many of those have special training of psionicists.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: So they're like really not differentiated between warlocks either.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_01: Again, magic is magic to them.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_01: Psionics are very different, but to them it's all magic.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_04: It falls in the purview of magic.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_04: So you could have someone that they would refer to as a warlock, but it's actually a psionicist.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_01: And then you have the Malar, like I explained earlier.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_01: The architects.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_01: The uh Rachener.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_01: The energy.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_04: The energy guys.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: And this went into a little bit more detail of how they can use the energies.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_01: Um, they can use them to become healers, physical, mental, or spiritual.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_01: Uh craftsmen, seers, and transport specialists.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_04: Transport specialists.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_04: So they're like it they're like um, oh what's it?
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_04: What's it?
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_04: Um Uber.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_04: I don't know, man.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_04: That's the only thing they came to know.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_04: No, it's a it's an engineering discipline.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_04: Fuck.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_04: All I can I I have no clue.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_04: All I can remember is that it's what John Kramer from Saw was.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_04: You'll know.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: So under the Herachner, you have the various different types of civil engineers.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_01: Energy users.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you have the Verithin, which are the ones that specialize in collecting the energy to aid the Malaran building.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_01: The Senjas, which are the seers, who are able to look into the astral energies to predict the future and view the present and the past.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_01: Very nice.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_01: And then the yearn, which are the transport specialists.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_01: And they can use these energies to teleport up to 2,000 pounds of material anywhere on the astral plane.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_04: And they yearn to have their talents recognized in a higher, more specialized capacity.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_01: And then you have the Talaikith.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_05: Uh-huh.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_01: Talaketh.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: Um, also known as sword spirits.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's pretty sick.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_01: These are undead Githyanke knights that remain on the astral plane as invisible spirits animating the sword that they used in their life.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: And they are mostly like stuck to a specific area, which is the area that they considered most important when they were alive, and that's what they guard.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_01: My house.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: They cannot be told what to do, they can't be commanded in any way.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_01: They just have like ghosts.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_01: Just have basically these floating swords guarding different areas.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_04: It's just this expected part of their society that they just have fucking ghost swords just hanging out.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_04: Just hanging around.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_04: Because you gotta know for some of them it was like their house or like the pub.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_01: The the brood chamber.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_04: The the spot.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_04: I was about to say the spot where they lost their virginity, but you know.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_04: Or that, sure.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_01: So to wrap up the first uh part here, because we are running a little long ago.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, right.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_02: I forgot.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_01: That's fine.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_01: I'm probably gonna go.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_01: We have the Lich Queen.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_01: Information about the Lich Queen.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_01: So currently, uh Queen Vlakith the 157th.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_01: What?
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_01: Is the most recent queen of the Githyanke and has ruled her people for well over a thousand years.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_01: And she was n it wish is she She is of direct descendant of Vlakith the first.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_01: The wizardess.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_01: But unlike all of her predecessors, this queen is a lich.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, so the other ones were just people.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_01: Uh she transformed herself into a lich.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_01: She has no heirs.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_01: And because of her undead state, she now cannot produce any heirs.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_01: So if she were to be destroyed, the Aeon's old bloodline would die with her.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_04: Wait, was um was Vlockith uh the first a Githyanki?
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_04: For some reason I imagine them, which I know that this wouldn't make sense given their society, but for some reason I imagined their them bringing in like a third party like a human, which is on me for assuming she was a human, but she was a Githyanki.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_01: Okay, gotcha.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_01: Um that makes more sense.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_01: The Lich Queen lives in the Githyanke city of Tunaroth, which is the largest and most important Githyanke community.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_01: And she lives in a grand palace all by herself.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_01: Big mood.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_01: Big mood.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_01: Um she resembles an aged, blackened corpse.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_01: With smoldering emerald eyes, generally preferring to wear these long purple robes with like intricate gold embroidery.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_04: Ooh, she got that Mardi Gras colors.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_04: I fucking love the descriptions of Lich's eyes, by the way.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_04: Like how they always go back to gemstones and they're always like ominously glowing.
- 1:13:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_01: She has a headdress of gold and rubies that signifies her position, as well as a golden scepter encrusted with even more rubies, and topped with the head of a red dragon.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_01: Legend says that this was gifted to her by the original Vlackith by Ephelamon.
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because of their um their pact that they had.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_01: Sick.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_01: So I guess Ethelamon gifted the original Vlackith, this scepter, and it has been in the family.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_01: In the family for eons.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_01: Fucking ever.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_04: Well, and you could imagine that most of it was probably Vlackith the what 157th?
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_01: 157th.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_04: Because it said she ruled for well over a thousand years.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_04: And there's just 156.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_04: Well, I guess that could be quite a while, too.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it depends on how long those other ones lived.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_01: A big chunk of it was probably her, though.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, probably.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: Uh 157.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_01: They use back to this just the Githyanke here.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_01: They use these tiny bird-like creatures that apparently are known as astral streakers as messengers, scouts, and spies.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_01: They can use their magic or psionics to see what the uh avian agents have seen.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_01: And I felt like this was a great stopping point.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_01: They also keep spectral hounds as guardians and trackers.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, that was intrigued Lewin.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_04: That's so cool.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_04: Spectral Hounds.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_04: Spectral Hounds and Naked Birds.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_04: What a combo.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_04: You can't pretend like you weren't laughing at streakers for the exact same reason he was.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_04: No, I I I was too.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_01: It actually never crossed my mind until you said that.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_04: But that's information.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_04: And now it's crossed your mind.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_04: And naked more listeners.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_04: I'm doing listeners.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, y'all were probably thinking it too.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_04: If y'all are anything like me.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_02: Or if you guys heard me and Lewin snickering.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_04: Which is undeniable that you did.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_04: Because I won't be able to edit that out because Travis was talking.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_02: But thank you for listening.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_02: Thank you.

- 1:16:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's a 24th level witch.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_02: It's too much.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_02: This too many spell.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_04: You know what's even worse than 24?
