- 2:10Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli here along with Sean McAllister.
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: And just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for listening to us all year long.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: Sean, we're like rolling right toward the end of the year.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: We've got this podcast and one more that will drop on New Year's Eve.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Then that's a wrap.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Yes, season four is knocking right on the door, coming up in 2023.
- 2:35Sean McAllister: Uh, this is the last episode until New Year's Eve.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: So we're dropping one on New Year's Eve, but then, you know, it'll run all week, and so it'll kind of be into the new year.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: So, you know, we're doing all our kind of end of year stuff here in this podcast.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: We are gonna take a one-week break.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: I'm heading to New York to see my family.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: We want everyone to enjoy their Christmas, and uh, we've got a lot of projects to wrap up, but uh, we have a lot to talk about today, which is great.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: So this is episode 148.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Our next one on New Year's Eve will be 149, which is perfect because 150 will come out in the first one of 2023.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: I think we talked about uh having a party for episode 150.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: I think we've talked about having a party for every single milestone we've hit and we've never done it.
- 3:19Sean McAllister: One of these days.
- 3:20Sean McAllister: One of these days.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: Well, we wanted to chat about the Mirage and the Hard Rock.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: We've mentioned it here and there about what's going on over there, but you know, recently they released some more renderings of the new guitar that will go right in front of the Mirage, which will soon be the Hard Rock International.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: So we have like some more details that we wanted to share.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh already some of the attractions at the Mirage uh have been shut down.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: The Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and the Dolphin Habitat, which have been hugely popular attractions for years, years and years.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: People who have come to Las Vegas with their families growing up have, you know, that's been a part of their Vegas experience.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: That's already shut down.
- 4:08Sean McAllister: Um and the next thing to go is the iconic Mirage Volcano.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and people seem upset about it that they're getting rid of the volcano.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: The addition is the guitar kind of wing, I should say, uh, with all hotel rooms, which will be placed where the volcano currently is right now.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: Um people seem upset the volcano's going away.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: And here's what I have to say about that.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: When's the last time you went to the volcano?
- 4:35Sean McAllister: Well, I've driven by the volcano several times.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: Have you like went there and like stood and waited for eruption time?
- 4:43Sean McAllister: I think the last time I did that, uh, my nephew was four years old and he's 21 now.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: I think I visited once before I moved here as well.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: That's my point.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: No big deal.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Love the volcano, and if the tourists love it, uh sad to see it go.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: But I keep seeing all these locals on Twitter like, no, not the volcano.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: Why?
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, when's the last time you've been to the volcano?
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: Like, come on.
- 5:10Sean McAllister: Here's the thing that is another attraction that does kind of have sentimental value, though, because the Mirage was the first mega resort that was built on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 5:22Sean McAllister: It was built by Steve Wynne before we had the Win and Encore, before we had Bellagio with the fountains.
- 5:30Sean McAllister: And the Mirage Volcano was kind of the first big free attraction that was built on the strip.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: So it does, I don't know.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: I I wish that we could kind of like pick it up and move it to the Neon Museum to be kind of a permanent fixture over.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, it would be nice if some part of it were able to be saved for future generations and to kind of uh celebrate the history of you know what it means to the city of Las Vegas.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: Well, and I know, you know, Siegfried and Royce Secret Garden and the dolphin habitat.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: I mean, the dolphin habitat was a great facility, and I know a lot of people will miss that too.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: However, I have seen a lot of people also say about that, like good, because there were a lot of you know animal activists that didn't love that being there.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: So I it's like, you know, there's pluses and negatives of everything, and I think, you know, we're just gonna have to move on from the volcano.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: And the guitar is going up.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: We've seen the renderings.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, I feel like it keeps getting bigger and bigger in each rendering.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: And it looks big.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: I'm a little tossed about that.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: My mother said to me, What do you think of the guitar?
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: I think it's too much.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: I saw the renderings, and I said, Well, here's the thing: I am one of those people who don't love a cheesy theme, okay?
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but I also know that that's part of Vegas.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Like, I do like a lot of the hotels that don't have themes.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: Win, Resorts World, you know, I feel like Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, but I also know that people do love the themes, and that is part of Las Vegas, you know, the Excalibur, the Luxor, Venetian with the Grand, you know, the canal and the the Italy theme and the Paris.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: So I mean that we this will add to the that the thematic part of the strip.
- 7:22Sean McAllister: It will.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: I'm not sure that aesthetically a big glass guitar hotel tower necessarily fits in with the surroundings, especially because so if you're familiar with the kind of architecture of the Las Vegas strip, uh right where the Mirage sits is where there's a bend in Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 7:49Sean McAllister: It's straight all the way from Mandalay Bay to the Mirage, and then it kind of like bends to the right as you go up toward the stratosphere.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: And that guitar is going to be sitting right at the bend.
- 8:02Sean McAllister: So as you're driving north up Las Vegas Boulevard, that giant guitar hotel tower is going to be your view.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 8:11Sean McAllister: I don't know how I feel about it.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think it's a little large.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: I feel like you're right.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't mind if it was a little smaller.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: Like doesn't the Mirage Tower already have enough hotel rooms?
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't know.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: They're going big.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, I guess we'll see at the end.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: I feel like things change as time goes on when there's like approvals and things, you know, there's been so many.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: I mean, a resorts world member was supposed to be so much bigger, and then they kept scaling back.
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: So we'll see what really happens.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: Well, and what I didn't mind was at the old Hard Rock Hotel, the one that sat off of the strip at Paradise and Harmon.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: Um, I did like having the giant neon guitar that was there was one out front in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, and then above the valet area, there was another guitar that was just a big guitar sign.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Right, does it?
- 9:02Sean McAllister: And I thought that was cool, and that's an iconic part of the Hard Rock brand.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: So maybe we do that and not a hotel tower.
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: But I think that's part of it.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: People want to go stay in the guitar.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: It's gonna bring in the room sales.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: And it's similar because there are people that are going to love this.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: There are keep in mind.
- 9:19Sean McAllister: And it is similar to the uh guitar hotel tower that Hard Rock built down in Florida.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that's popular, right?
- 9:28Sean McAllister: It is popular, very popular.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: I do always see a lot of pictures of that and people visiting.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: And I think that's a casino too down there, isn't it?
- 9:33Sean McAllister: It is, yeah.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: We'll keep you posted, but you know, let us know what you think.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: I I feel like until it really happens, size could change.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 9:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:46Sean McAllister: And size matters.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: We all know that.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: Uh, but uh the headline you still have time to go and enjoy the Mirage Volcano, uh, at least for the next few months.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: I want to see all those locals down there perched up waiting for the volcano.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: Tag, do a hashtag VegasRevealed when you post your volcano pictures and videos.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: Please, please tag us.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: Hey, we went to a new supper club that opened over at the Venetian, right in the Grand Canal shops the other night.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: We had a blast.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: Um, we have some thoughts on this new restaurant location and vibe and all that that we're excited to share.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: It's called Villa Azure, and it's like an upscale European lifestyle with a vibrant Miami touch, is how they're describing it.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: The space of the restaurant.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: It is, and it's uh almost like mixing a nightclub with uh a high-end trendy restaurant.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: It's the marriage of those two worlds, which we haven't really seen anything quite like this here in Las Vegas yet.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: And this includes, which we're gonna get into in just a second, entertainment while you dine.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: So that makes it really cool.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: So we were able to go to the opening and we said, you know what?
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Can we talk to the CEO?
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: So we pulled him aside, Jacobo Jafif.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: He is the CEO of Danko Hospitality, and we had a lot of questions for him.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: And we feel like it's best for him to describe, and then Sean and I will tell you about our experience.
- 11:22Sean McAllister: It's exciting.
- 11:22Sean McAllister: We're excited to get our first taste of Villa Azure Azure.
- 11:27Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 11:27Sean McAllister: Jacob, how's it going, man?
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Fantastic, man.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Thank you for coming.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: Of course.
- 11:32Sean McAllister: So for people who are uh coming into town and they may come by here, what can they expect?
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: A whole not a lot of entertainment, a lot of amazing food, um entertainment at night, dancers, singers, um, then a fantastic party at night.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: I feel like that is kind of coming back in Vegas.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: For a while we had a lot of that, it went kind of went away, and I love that you guys are doing dinner and entertainment.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: Is that part of what you guys have always been known for?
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: It's it's more like dinner party.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: And we throw a little bit of entertainment.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Like people want to watch something incredible while they have while they'll dine, and that's why we show.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: We did a show, we do magicians, singers, um, we have some circuito sole girls, uh, we have a lot of.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna say, like, you need to experience it.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be so incredible.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: People are gonna enjoy themselves so much.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: And the first aspect of the culinary experience, like you're gonna have amazing dinner, amazing dinner, amazing presentation, table side presentation.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Um, we have uh truffle pasta with caviar, we have truffle raviol, we have I know you're seeing I see you, I see you already mouth watering.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm hungry.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: I came ready for dinner.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: You can have a feast, man.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: But you're gonna enjoy it.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: You're gonna enjoy it.
- 12:55Sean McAllister: And so, what is the inspiration behind the menu?
- 12:58Sean McAllister: Where do these flavors come from?
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Well, it's mainly Mediterranean, but it's mainly with a chef.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: We we came by to some of the dishes that we love all around the world.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Like you're gonna you're gonna encounter sushi crispy tuna cri, uh crispy tuna rice in a different presentation.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: You're gonna um you're gonna see truffle raviol, you're gonna see salt crusted fish, you're gonna see meat, you're gonna see Yu steaks, you're gonna see table side preparation of seizure salad from one of my best chefs that is Thomas Keller.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: So I've learned a lot from him, and we try to bring a little bit of his knowledge to this kitchen.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: Well, and I love that this is kind of like, you know, come to dress to impress and and late night.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: I miss all that stuff.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I feel like maybe it's because of COVID.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: People are going to bed earlier, going out.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: But I'm ready.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: I think everyone's ready, don't you?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: You know what's it's fun that you mentioned because I've always said the same thing.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Like, it's missing something when you dress up to go out.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Like you don't dress up to go out anymore.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: And and I think this is a place we wanted to achieve something elegant when you dress up, when you wear, when you wear a nice dress, you're gonna see inside it's the the service, the the way the servers are dressed.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Everything is to impress.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And I'm pretty sure they're gonna be impressed.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: We've done uh a fantastic job and can't wait for you for every Vegas citizen and every tourist and every people in the world to experience this venue.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: Well, and I think for me personally, one of the the things that I miss about like the early 2000s in Las Vegas was the ultra lounge experience.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: And it seems like you're kind of bringing back the ultra uh the ultra lounge, but mixing some really elevated dining in with that.
- 14:46Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 14:46Sean McAllister: That's it.
- 14:47Sean McAllister: You mentioned it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: It is what done! End of interview.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: End of interview, that's it.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: Okay, real quick, describe the inside, the look of it for us.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna have videos on our social media, but for anyone that's listening, what's the vibe inside?
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: What's the look?
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: So we inspired, I love trees.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Trees is a fruit of life, it's it's life, it's it's air.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: So in every restaurant we own, we put a trees, we put plants on the ceiling, and the light setting is so fantastic.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: You're gonna white as soon as you walk in, you're gonna see a beautiful tree, white tree on the center, illuminated with different colors.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: You're gonna see all the ceiling changing colors at certain point of night.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: You're gonna see a decor of floral on the ceiling that changes color.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, the light goes down, and this is something nice.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: You will never see a chandelier in Vegas or in the world like this.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: We customated in um in Egypt, it's 3,000 crystals, handmade, the chandelier, and it covers almost all the bar.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: So it's massive, massive.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: It changes color, and it's fantastic.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's beautiful the place.
- 15:59Sean McAllister: I'm glad I asked.
- 16:00Sean McAllister: I'm glad I asked.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: And yeah, you have showgirls at the entrance right now.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: You have feathers, you have flowers, you have the trees inside.
- 16:09Sean McAllister: We're excited to experience everything that you've brought here, and we're here too.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: Thanks so much for having us.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: We appreciate it.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: It's incredible.
- 16:17Sean McAllister: Thank you for having me.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: So then we did head inside.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: So now let's talk about our experience.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: It was like no other dinner I have ever had in my life.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: When when we heard, like, you know, it was gonna be another kind of you know, supperish club, you know, Villa Azore is different.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: And just like Jacobo said, it is a dinner party.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: We experienced a night that started one way and ended another, and that was actually the really cool part of it.
- 16:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, and you know what?
- 16:48Sean McAllister: I don't even think I would call it a dinner party, I would call it a party dinner.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:54Sean McAllister: I would flip those around.
- 16:55Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:56Sean McAllister: Because man, there is live entertainment.
- 17:00Sean McAllister: Uh like early in the evening, there's a singer that goes around the room, a saxophonist moved around, there's a DJ up in there, up in the DJ booth.
- 17:10Sean McAllister: But as the night went on, like it turned into a club.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: It did.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: And the table right next to us, I don't think the people were sitting down for more than two minutes.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: You know, and he did mention the the colors change on the floor and the ceiling, and that's what started happening as the night went on.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: But first of all, let's hit on the singer.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: She was great, she was phenomenal.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: She worked each table.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: She actually worked around the room, and the songs that she sang, she went from like Amy Winehouse to like a fun song from Bruno Mars.
- 17:45Sean McAllister: The 80s.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: Yes, then Bruno Mars.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: I mean, she was fabulous and so much fun, really enjoyable.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: And there were so many times I was thinking, I was like, is this like a song that the DJ is playing?
- 17:56Sean McAllister: I know.
- 17:57Sean McAllister: And then I looked around, I was like, oh my God, no, this is the singer.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: She was fantastic.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: She was fantastic.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of how the night started.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: And then we had cocktails and appetizers and dinner, and then the DJ kind of, you know, started kicking up the table.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: And people were standing up, you know, their napkins were in the air.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Whipping them around.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: And it was fun.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: We've seen uh some other people that went on opening nights saying, well, you know, it's a little difficult to hear each other.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Well, that's not what you're there for later in the night.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: So here's what I loved about it.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: We have supper clubs like Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: You go, you watch a show, there's a band, there's entertainment, you eat, they take breaks.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Then we have Delilah at Wynn, and that's fabulous.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: Old Hollywood, and you know, beautiful uh uh singers and and and band members and everything like that, the entertainment kind of changes.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: Um and it's great, but this is just it really is a party.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: So I feel like I would take my girlfriends if they were like visiting or whatever, and I if I didn't want to do a club where I had to stand all night, and I'd say, let's have dinner, let's have drinks.
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: This place is gonna turn into a really fun vibe.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: And then you're there at your table, you're enjoying the music and the entertainment, and you have kind of a little bit of a club vibe, but it's fun, but it's fun.
- 19:20Sean McAllister: And the food was delicious too.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: It was.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: And we were there uh for a media night opening.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: So we did know a lot of other people in the room.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: So there was a lot of mingling going on.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: People table hopping, going around to say hi, and then you come back and you know, have some food that's been brought to the table, and then get up and go mingle again, be see how everyone else was doing.
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and the housewives were there.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: They were a bunch of them, I should say.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: And I would say the housewives, not the what the with the Bravo housewives.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: Bravo housewives, yeah.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: Uh, we had an Orange County housewife, a New Jersey housewife, uh, and I believe a couple a couple Beverly Hills housewives.
- 20:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:03Sean McAllister: I'm only up to date on the Salt Lake City housewives right now.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's your that's your jam.
- 20:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, but I know uh Tamra Barney was the OC housewife, uh Melissa Gorga from New Jersey, um I think I saw Brandy Glanville.
- 20:18Sean McAllister: Her husband uh was there too, I think.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: Was he Gorga?
- 20:21Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:22Sean McAllister: Joe.
- 20:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think so.
- 20:23Dayna Roselli: Because my friend was, hey Joe.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh who's Joe's?
- 20:27Sean McAllister: I didn't see Joe.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he was there too, I think.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: So it was a good time.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: I enjoyed it.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: I think it's special.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: The decor was beautiful, just like Jacobo described.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Beautiful floral, the tree, the chandelier with the 3,000 crystals was gorgeous.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: Uh, I think this supper club serves a purpose.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: And I say, Welcome, Bill Azure, to the strip.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be great.
- 20:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it like you said, it is a great alternative to going out to a nightclub.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:54Sean McAllister: And you don't have to like wait until two in the morning for the party to really kick up.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:59Sean McAllister: You know?
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: And listen, I'm not even a huge dessert fan, but their desserts were great and big and delicious.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: Go to our Instagram and look at some of the desserts we had that night.
- 21:08Sean McAllister: And that's the thing, a lot of their plates are a great size.
- 21:12Sean McAllister: They don't have small portions.
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:14Sean McAllister: The portions are big enough where you could share.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 21:16Sean McAllister: And and do, like, you know, have kind of a family style uh serving at your table.
- 21:23Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was great.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: Uh, something we are going to also at the Venetian this week, but we're recording before we go, so we're gonna save it for another podcast.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: And I think we mentioned this before too.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: We've actually interviewed the CEO of this too.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: It's a new social darts space that's opening at the Venetian.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Um, it is called Flight Club.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna go play, experience it, and see what it's about.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's kind of right across the way from Villa Azure.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: So um, we'll be able to, you know, pop back by there and and see how Villa Azure is doing after a week of uh having the doors open.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: Grand Canadian.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Shops changing things up and adding a lot over there.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: So I love it.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: They are.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: And Venetian and Palazzo are always great.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: And as we have said from episode one, the parking is free and it's easy to get in and out.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: Love it.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: It is great.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: And I think they opened a new food area too that we did get invited to and couldn't make.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: We'll have to go back and look at that, maybe mention it when we talk about the social darts.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: It's like a new kind of food area where they have options.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: And so they're adding a lot over there.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: And like you said, free parking, you can't beat it.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Hey, a place that uh is changing and has changed, but not really, but kind of is Bailey's.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, Bailey's, of course, uh a fixture on the Las Vegas strip, right there at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: Um, and we had mentioned this before.
- 22:50Sean McAllister: It's transitioning into the horseshoe Las Vegas.
- 22:54Sean McAllister: And if you've been inside recently, uh you'll see that the changes have already started.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: The casino floor has been redone, they have new carpet in there, the you know, the decor inside the casino area has been zhuzhed up and horseshoe eyes, if that's a uh actual term.
- 23:16Sean McAllister: Um, but we're now starting to see some of the exterior uh changes happening as well.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: They've taken apart the big video screen marquee out in front of Bally's.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: And you know, I imagine horseshoe is going to have its own big video billboard up there because it's prime real estate for people to see what you got going on at the property.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: Uh, but I was talking to a friend who uh works for one of the shows at Bally's, and he said, you know what?
- 23:45Sean McAllister: The casino is looking beautiful.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: And all the years that I've worked there, uh it they really have done a great job and it looks gorgeous.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: They have a new steakhouse, they have a lot of new things there too.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: I look forward to getting in there and and seeing it soon.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: And if people don't know, Bailey's is also kind of connected to Paris.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: So Paris has opened a lot too, especially in that walkway, all new restaurants, and so uh Baileys is the horseshoe.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: It's kind of like a slow transition.
- 24:12Dayna Roselli: Like if you go to their website, it's like Caesars.com backslash horseshoe.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: But then if you go on, you see the horseshoe logo, but also Bailey's.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: So I think they're just kind of taking a little time to kind of merge the two and then completely go horseshoe.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: Yes, it's not like Hard Rock where they're gonna close down, gut the place, and then reopen.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: They're they're doing a slow transition and you know, keep the property open while they're doing all these renovations.
- 24:39Sean McAllister: So, you know, as as we see more and more of these uh renovations happening, we say, Welcome, horseshoe.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, welcome, welcome to the strip.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Hey, something off the strip that I thought, you know, we we didn't mention this before because um, well, we just didn't.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: And then I saw that they were hiring and I thought, okay.
- 24:58Sean McAllister: We just didn't.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: We just didn't.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: There's a wildfire casino coming to Fremont in the downtown Vegas area.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: But it's it's it's we looked it up and it's really east of like the canopy of Fremont.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: So um it's an area that's kind of like right where Fremont bends and crosses Charleston.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: But wildfire casinos are spread out throughout the valley.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: They're great if you love to get your slot game on and your gambling, but this is gonna be a station casino.
- 25:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there are like several other wildfire casinos throughout the valley.
- 25:32Sean McAllister: Um, this one is gonna be 21,000 square feet.
- 25:36Sean McAllister: You know, a brand new casino over in that area of town is gonna be a nice addition.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: And uh certainly will draw people in because these wildfire casinos are definitely popular with Las Vegas locals.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: They are, yeah.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: So it's a great spot for them, right?
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: They're gonna have 200 of the latest and most popular slot machines, uh, bar top gaming, uh table games, and then they're gonna have an iHop, which is kind of cool, right?
- 26:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: And a local Mexican eatery is gonna open up in there too.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Tacos El Pastor.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: They're so good.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: They are good.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: That's a great spot.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and if you're looking to get a new job, maybe you want to move to Vegas and you thought, hey, I want to work at a casino, this could be a great start.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: Or if you have a lot of experience, stationcasinosjobs.com is where you go.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: They're having several different job fairs.
- 26:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this wildfire at 2700 Fremont is set to open in early February uh 2023.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: So that's gonna be here before we know it.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: Before we know it.
- 26:38Sean McAllister: You know, we've seen a lot of country in town recently, Dana, because the National Finals rodeo has been, you know, they set up shop for what is it, 11 days, 12 days of all rodeo action.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: And we've had a lot of country artists uh playing in town while the rodeo is here as well.
- 26:59Sean McAllister: But we just got word of another country artist coming to southern Nevada.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: And I said to you, hey, is Dirk Spentley big?
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Because I know country and I know the name Dirk Spentley, but I just wanted to make sure, like, this is a big deal, right?
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: Because I felt like it was.
- 27:12Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: And you were like, heck yeah, they're huge.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: And I love this.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: They're coming to the Laughlin Event Center.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: And when I say there, is it a guy?
- 27:19Sean McAllister: It's it's him.
- 27:20Sean McAllister: It's him.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: He's coming to he has a band, but it's like Luke Bryant.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: Dirk's Bentley's coming, and I know the name.
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: So he's coming to the Laughlin Event Center.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, he's gonna be right there at um the outdoor concert venue, right?
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: The 11,600-seat outdoor concert venue.
- 27:43Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 27:44Dayna Roselli: So that's cool.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: And that's gonna be Saturday, April 15th.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: So that also is gonna come up quick.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: So you might want to get your tickets now if you want to see Dirk's, because Sean says he's popular.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: And so a lot of people will buy tickets.
- 27:55Sean McAllister: Well, hey, he's one of those country artists who has his own honky tonk on Broadway there in Nashville.
- 28:00Sean McAllister: So, you know, Miranda Lambert has one, Luke Bryan has one, uh, Justin Timberlake even has one now.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: Right.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: Um, that's like the big thing for country stars now to have their own honky tonk.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: And what is a honky tonk exactly?
- 28:15Sean McAllister: It's like a big fun bar where there's live music and dancing.
- 28:19Sean McAllister: So you go there.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: I still I'm not good on my country.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: Oh my god, Dana.
- 28:23Sean McAllister: We need to take Vegas Revealed on a Nashville trip.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: I know I've only been once for a wedding and we did go out a couple nights, but I did not experience a honky tonk.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: Oh, it Nashville is a blast to all of our Nashville listeners.
- 28:39Sean McAllister: What up?
- 28:40Sean McAllister: We'll be out there sometime.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Maybe we can get like a sponsor trip.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: Someone in Nashville sponsored to fly us out and give us the Nashville experience.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: How about that?
- 28:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, maybe we can talk to Dirks when he's in town in April.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: And it says multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and entertainer.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: So he's definitely done a lot.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: Um, the lineup's also gonna include a set from the Cadillac 3, which I've heard of.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: So it's gonna be good.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: So anyway, get your tickets for that if you want to see Dirks and crew.
- 29:04Sean McAllister: And Dana, before we get to tips, there was uh a news item that we really wanted to talk about and that we're excited to see.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's gonna be a new street in Las Vegas.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: It's actually gonna be a street that exists, but they're renaming it after Liberacci.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: Isn't it funny?
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: We just talked about Liberacci and how he doesn't get enough credit, and then literally this comes out.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: Do you think they listen to Vegas Revealed?
- 29:27Sean McAllister: I mean, possibly.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: Maybe.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: And who is it?
- 29:31Sean McAllister: The county commission, the city council who decides on renaming streets.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: I think it and I think this one would be in the county, because I live in the county, not the city, and it's right near me.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: I'm not positive though.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: I'm pretty sure though.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: But we have different sections.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: But anyway, they're naming a certain part of Karen Avenue after Liberacci.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: Is it Liberacci Avenue or Liberacci Way?
- 29:53Sean McAllister: I think we said Liberacci Avenue.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: And I got all excited because you were like, Dana, it's on your street.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: And I was like, am I gonna be living on Liberacci Avenue?
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: I was thinking, like, already imagining like changing my address to everything, writing people letters with my address on Liberacci Avenue.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: And then you're like, oh no, it stops right at the intersection before you.
- 30:15Sean McAllister: You're going to literally be living in the shadow of Liberacci Avenue, living in the shadow of greatness.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: My goodness.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: I can't believe it.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so Karen Avenue, it's gonna start right at the Joe Brown intersection and go all the way past Maryland Parkway, I think it said, right to the east side.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: I think to Maryland Parkway.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 30:32Sean McAllister: Between Joe Brown and Maryland Parkway.
- 30:34Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 30:34Dayna Roselli: There's some good, there's a my favorite, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants is on that road.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: Um, they've got the little square there.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: They've got a great gym on the corner, CVS, and then also the entrance to the Las Vegas Country Club.
- 30:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 30:49Sean McAllister: And uh, Jonathan Warren, who I've known for years, and he heads up the Liberacci Foundation here in Las Vegas, has been working tirelessly to keep Liberacci's name and legacy out there.
- 31:03Sean McAllister: And I know that this is one of the projects that he's been working on for years.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: So I'm so excited for the foundation and just for Liberacci's legacy in general, that that finally now we are going to have Liberacci Avenue as part of our Las Vegas infrastructure.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: What's that ribbon cutting gonna be like?
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: That's gonna be fabulous.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: Fabulous with rhinestones and capes and wait.
- 31:29Sean McAllister: I mean, people popping out of Fabrogé eggs and pianos and candelabras.
- 31:34Sean McAllister: I it we need to go all out for this.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: We do.
- 31:37Dayna Roselli: We'll have to get our friend Debbie Gibson, who lives in Las Vegas.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: Debbie has one of Liberacci's pianos.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: It's her proud possession that she loves.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: She says she will never get up, give up, excuse me, sell anything.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: Um, I've been over to the house, you've been over to the house and seen it.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: Did you know that that's a liberacci piano?
- 31:52Sean McAllister: I don't think I knew that that was a liberacci piano.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: She bought it.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a liberacci piano.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: And it's incredible.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: So maybe we'll get her to roll that on down the street to Liberacci Avenue for the opening.
- 32:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, I didn't know we were in the presence of double greatness.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: I know.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: Debbie Gibson and Liberacci's piano.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: And Debbie's gonna be on Good Morning America, she just announced on December 22nd, if you want to see Debbie perform live.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: And by the way, Debbie has a new uh holiday album out called Winterlicious.
- 32:20Sean McAllister: I have it downloaded, and we've been cooking holiday meals to it.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: We decorated the Christmas tree.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: It is good to have that on.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: It there is some really great original new Christmas music on there that I think should become like new holiday staples.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: I agree, I agree.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: And some of them really stick in your head.
- 32:41Dayna Roselli: They do.
- 32:41Dayna Roselli: I find myself singing it or waking up in the middle of the night and having it stuck in my head.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: So the jingle one.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's one of my favorites.
- 32:47Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 32:54Sean McAllister: So, Dana, we have talked a lot about the holiday attractions that we find in Las Vegas this time of year.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: Most of them are centered around the Las Vegas Strip, where most of the tourists go.
- 33:08Sean McAllister: Um, but one attraction that people may not know about, especially if you're visiting town, is the Opportunity Village Magical Forest.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this is a great place because when you buy a ticket and you go to the magical forest, you're helping support one of our big organizations here in Las Vegas that helps so many people.
- 33:31Dayna Roselli: And so Opportunity Village, we just actually did a project on one of the campuses, and it's an amazing facility.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: All the clients there um have disabilities, but they do great work and they work and they're working in the wood shop.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: They are doing art, they are making things, they are actually sewing and and working on projects with resorts on the strip, and they are making commission and money.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: And some of them even live on the this property right next door that they've just created, um, that they actually can walk to work.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: It's an amazing facility, always expanding.
- 34:09Dayna Roselli: And Magical Forest is something that they put on year after year.
- 34:13Dayna Roselli: It celebrates the Christmas holidays, uh, all the holidays actually around Christmas time.
- 34:19Dayna Roselli: And it's fabulous because when you buy that ticket, you're actually giving back.
- 34:23Sean McAllister: You're making a huge difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- 34:31Sean McAllister: And like you said, giving them the job training that they need to actually get out and be a part of the workforce.
- 34:38Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 34:39Sean McAllister: And I mean, that has a huge impact on uh their self-confidence and you know being able to contribute.
- 34:48Sean McAllister: And there are so many great programs at Opportunity Village that the Magical Forest supports.
- 34:54Sean McAllister: You can find out all about that at opportunityvillage.org.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, great place.
- 35:01Dayna Roselli: So bring the family and go check out Magical Forest.
- 35:04Dayna Roselli: Um, we wanted to move to New Year's Eve for folks that are thinking, what should I do?
- 35:08Dayna Roselli: What should I do?
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: We know already, we've talked about there's free fireworks on the strip.
- 35:13Dayna Roselli: They shut down portions of the strip.
- 35:15Dayna Roselli: It's always a good time.
- 35:16Dayna Roselli: Um, we love it.
- 35:18Dayna Roselli: But Fremont Street this year is really kicking it up.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: And we're talking about the Fremont Street experience with the canopy and everything.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: They always do a fabulous New Year's Eve event too.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: And they have like a band or two, but this year they are doing like a large uh party with like three different stages, several bands that range in like all kinds of music genre.
- 35:41Sean McAllister: Oh yeah, and this one is called the New Year's Eve Time of Your Life Festival.
- 35:47Sean McAllister: And it really is.
- 35:48Sean McAllister: There's eight different bands, as you mentioned, Dana, all on different stages.
- 35:53Sean McAllister: Uh, should we run down the list?
- 35:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, run down the list.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: You do it.
- 35:56Sean McAllister: So, starting with Bush, Gavin Rostell, and Bush.
- 36:00Sean McAllister: Uh, we also have the Struts, Sugar Ray, the Wailers featuring Julian Marley, Sugar Hill Gang.
- 36:08Dayna Roselli: Oh, Sugar Hill Gang, they're good.
- 36:09Sean McAllister: All for one.
- 36:10Sean McAllister: Oh, I love them.
- 36:11Sean McAllister: Tag team, tag team back again, and DJ Scribble.
- 36:17Dayna Roselli: Wow, that's a lineup.
- 36:19Sean McAllister: That is a fun lineup.

- 38:06Dayna Roselli: It could be the legacy club at Circa.
- 38:08Dayna Roselli: We thought about that because we're gonna, you know, we just hosted the ugly sweater contest there.
- 38:12Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
