- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: The liberal globalist order is on its brink and awakening a new conservative age.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just Alberta and Quebec, something extraordinary is happening in Illinois.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: One of the most dramatic political realignments in modern American history may be quietly unfolding, not through violence, not through rebellion, but through ballots.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: constitutional government and the consent of the government.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure to stick me the very end of this video because when you connect all the dots between Illinois and what's also happening all across the country and to become clear that America's political map may be far less permanent than we ever imagined.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: On November 3, voters across downstate Illinois will be voting on more than just members of Congress.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: They'll be encountering a question asking whether their county boards should communicate with other counties about the possibility of permanently separating.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: from Cook County, where Chicago is.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: The proposal involves forming a new state, yes, a 51st state, and seeking admission to the Union.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: The question of separation from Cook County and succession from Illinois will appear on an astonishing 11 county ballots on November 3rd.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: That includes Coles and Gallatin Hamilton, Henderson Monroe and Warren counties along with several
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: in Adams County.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, just to be clear, the referendum is non-binding.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: A yes vote does not automatically create a new state, obviously.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Nor does it transfer these counties to Indiana, like summer proposing.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it certainly does not mean leaving the United States.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: It simply asks whether local officials should begin corresponding with other counties in Illinois and exploring what separation might involve.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: In other words,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: This is the opening conversation, not the final constitutional act, but that opening conversation is spreading like wildfire.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: 33 counties have already approved similar measures since 2020, with an average reported approval
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: of roughly 74% that according to the Illinois separation organization.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's the latest measures pass.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: The movement will have registered support across a remarkable portion of Illinois's County map.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Even if those counties represent less of the state's population than Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: and that's precisely the political fault line driving this movement.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Illinois may be one state legally, but politically and culturally it increasingly looks like two different worlds.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Chicago and Cook County on one side and vast stretches of rural and small town Illinois on the other.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: These communities often have radically different priorities on taxation, policing, firearms, education, immigration, and the proper size and role of government, yet because population not land or county count,
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: determines legislative representation, the Chicago metropolitan region maintains enormous influence over statewide politics.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: So what happens when residents finally believe, you know, their communities are permanently going to be outvoted by a political culture hundreds of miles away.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: They begin asking a revolutionary question.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: if political differences have become nearly permanent, why not redraw the boundaries?
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: And this is where Illinois connects directly with what's called the greater Idaho movement.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Since 2020, residents across eastern Oregon,
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: have been voting on measures calling for their counties to leave Oregon and join up with neighboring deep red Idaho.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: 13 Oregon counties have approved greater Idaho measures over several election cycles.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: The greater Idaho argument is strikingly similar to the Illinois argument.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Rule Eastern Oregonians contend that Portland politics dominate state politics
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: with the culture and economy of Eastern Oregon.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: But the difference here is that greater Idaho, as the name indicates, isn't looking to create a 51st state.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: It wants to move.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: The Oregon Idaho border westward, so participating counties can remain inside the United States, obviously, while coming under Idaho's government.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: By contrast, the Illinois proposal, it goes a step further, basically, rather than transferring counties into an existing state, it envisions counties outside Cook County, forming an actual new state at 51st state within the American Union.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: But despite their differences, there's clearly a common dynamic animating both of these movements, and it's not just happening here.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Gang, let me ask you something.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Are you feeling the pain at the pump, the same pain I'm feeling every time I try to fill up my car and it's not just gas, it's food costs, it's accessories, literally everything.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: The money you work so hard for disappears before you can even save it, spend it on your family or let alone invest it in your future.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the secret that globalist elites don't want you thinking about.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're not standing at the pump, wondering how they're going to pay the bill.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: They built this global system.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: They create chaos, and while hardworking families absorb the cost, they use that same chaos to their advantage.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: But what if you could flip the script?
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: What if you could learn a simple step-by-step skill from home that could help you benefit when prices spike instead of merely being heard by them?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: A skill you could practice a little bit each and every day giving you greater confidence, more choices, and a potential way to make money from home.

- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're bright, beautiful future is waiting.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go get it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Both Illinois separation and the greater Idaho movement belong to the same broad phenomenon on what analysts call internal or soft secession.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Now, unlike external or hard secession, internal secession doesn't sever a territory from the large nation.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Instead, it sort of it rearranges political authority within the existing constitutional order.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Greater Idaho would transfer counties from one American state to another.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Illinois separation would create another American state, but its residents would obviously remain American citizens under the American Constitution.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: Neither movement is advocating national independence, a separate military, a new currency or withdrawal from a country.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: By contrast, external or hard succession is fundamentally different.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: That occurs when a territory attempts to sever its governmental ties completely and totally from the existing one and become
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: an independent sovereign nation.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: So this is what we're seeing with Alberta, what we're hearing about now with Quebec, what we've seen with Slovakia in the Czech Republic or the former Yugoslavia nation well territories.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Illinois separation and greater Idaho are therefore not external secessionist movements in the strict political science sense.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: They are movements for internal territorial reorganization, dramatic, certainly, but constitutional in their stated objectives, and yes, as I understand that Constitution provides a pathway.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Article 4 section 3 states that a new state cannot be formed from an existing state without the consent of the affected state legislature and Congress.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Illinois separation would therefore require approval from the Illinois General Assembly and from the United States Congress.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Greater Idaho would require agreement from Oregon and Idaho followed by congressional consent.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: County referendum alone obviously they can't redraw a single boundary.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: But what they can do is they can build the political pressure necessary to begin the process.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why these votes matter even when they're not
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: They document discontent, they organize supporters and force political leaders to confront grievances they might otherwise ignore.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Idaho's house is already expressed willingness to discuss the greater Idaho proposal, while Oregon lawmakers introduced, but unfortunately did not advance, measures in 2025 that would have established a border task force or open negotiations with Idaho.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Illinois faces an equally formidable obstacle, persuading springfield politicians to relinquish territory and potentially create two new United States senators, obviously deep red senators.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is an extraordinary political hurdle and nobody should pretend otherwise.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: These movements have a constitutional pathway, but having a pathway does not mean the destination
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: The deeper significance cannot be dismissed.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Greater Idaho and Illinois separation represent a re-awakening of local political identity.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Their supporters are saying that they should not have to abandon their homes, their farms, their churches, their multi-generational communities, their roots simply to find a government that reflects their values.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of moving the people, they simply want to move the borders.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So the real story here is not merely whether Illinois becomes two states or whether Idaho's border eventually reaches Westward.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: The real story is that growing numbers of Americans no longer believe that our existing political boundaries adequately represent the communities living within them.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're turning away from external secession toward something potentially far more practical, peaceful, democratic, and constitutional internal separation.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: The map is not changed yet, but the demand for change is spreading.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: 33 Illinois counties have already spoken 12 more county areas are preparing to vote, and the same political earthquake is shaking eastern Oregon.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: The ultimate question is no longer whether these movements are serious.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's whether America's political establishment will continue ignoring them, or finally rediscover the founding principle that legitimate government begins with the consent of the governed.
