  You know, whenever I was a kid, I remember asking the preacher
• 1:40
  quite a few times. When I was a child my family
• 1:44
  took me to church, mostly my mother.

  But I remember asking the preacher why is it that lying is
• 1:54
  considered an abomination? Why is it that lying is
• 1:58
  considered equal to murder or killing someone?

  Because according to the Bible law, sin is equal.

  It is when you do something wrong, it's considered
• 2:10
  disobeying God and disobeying God basically means that you are
• 2:16
  sinning against God. You're doing wrong.
• 2:20
  And God doesn't count what we consider or perceive as small
• 2:24
  things any smaller than that on how we perceive killing or
• 2:29
  murder. He sees of those all the same.

  And I remember as a child, I thought, well, that's stupid.
• 2:36
  I, I, I did, I actually as a kid, I thought that was, that
• 2:40
  was dumb. I actually thought it was unfair
• 2:42
  and it was one of the things that actually led me to
• 2:45
  skepticism and eventually into atheism for several years before
• 2:52
  I started growing up. See, I whenever I was an
• 2:56
  atheist, I was a young person. I was a young person that was
• 3:01
  just starting to understand and comprehend my own place in the
• 3:05
  world as well as understand the world itself and what it was
• 3:09
  about. I never could understand why God
• 3:13
  would say things like don't be of this world, be separate of
• 3:17
  the things of this world, don't strive for material things,
• 3:22
  don't idolize people, don't get greedy.
• 3:26
  Don't you know want so much for yourself?
• 3:31
  And I remember thinking to myself, why?
• 3:35
  What's wrong with trying to be famous?
• 3:38
  What's wrong with trying to be popular?
• 3:40
  What's what's wrong with, you know, every once in a while if
• 3:44
  you feel like you got to protect yourself from something bad,
• 3:47
  why? What's wrong with a white lie?
• 3:49
  A little white lie. But as you get older and you
• 3:54
  start seeing things like, for instance, there was a black
• 3:58
  woman that just recently came out after 20 years, admitted
• 4:03
  after she allegedly found Christianity in prison, a woman
• 4:08
  who killed her own boyfriend. She admitted that whenever she
• 4:12
  was a youngster that she lied on three or four students claiming
• 4:20
  that they raped her, violated her.
• 4:24
  Because of this, even though there was so little evidence,
• 4:30
  there were people that like the girl who lied right along with
• 4:34
  her. And this ended up absolutely
• 4:37
  destroying the lives and the reputations of the students, as
• 4:42
  well as stopping them from being able to get dates or find
• 4:47
  themselves in relationships or even getting a job.
• 4:50
  Because the lies became national news.
• 4:55
  And the mainstream media pushed that these kids were monsters
• 4:58
  and they deserved to be punished and destroyed.

  It was almost as if they were killed.
• 5:06
  You know, there's actually, when you think about it, if someone
• 5:13
  innocent is out there in the world and they get killed, at
• 5:18
  least whenever they die, there will be people who remember them
• 5:23
  for the good that they've done. But if you're lied about, if
• 5:28
  someone comes along and they lie about you and they destroy your
• 5:31
  life and make your life a living hell while you're still existing
• 5:36
  and you also die, then you are going to forever be remembered
• 5:43
  historically as a horrible, terrible person.
• 5:47
  Anybody can come along, say whatever they want, and if
• 5:50
  you've already got this reputation that you've been
• 5:52
  given and this lack of credibility or integrity, then
• 5:57
  it can go on forever and ever and ever.

  And the only one that will actually know the truth is the
• 6:03
  dead person and God. If there was no God and there
• 6:08
  was no afterlife, then justice simply would never exist.

  For people that are in that predicament, it's almost worse
• 6:18
  than just straight up being killed.
• 6:21
  It's as if you've you've been destroyed.
• 6:23
  You've been basically banished from humanity and society, from
• 6:27
  everything. There's been people out there
• 6:31
  who've been lied about so badly that they can't even be in a
• 6:35
  community anymore because of what they've been accused of.

  So I started realizing, especially the more I seen the
• 6:46
  mainstream media would live for views and live for click bait
• 6:50
  and live for fame. The more I watched YouTube and I
• 6:54
  watched people on countless occasions lie their ass off.
• 6:59
  Not just about me but other people and other things just so
• 7:04
  they can get somebody to click on their video and watch it.
• 7:08
  I realized why God wanted me to keep separate from the world,
• 7:14
  why God wanted me to be careful, why He told me, don't trust the
• 7:18
  flesh and don't idolize people. Don't look up to people because
• 7:23
  one of the worst things you can do is meet your heroes.

  Sometimes you meet people that you put a lot of stock and trade
• 7:30
  in and it turns out they're not as great and wonderful as you
• 7:33
  thought they'd be. After being betrayed by people
• 7:38
  that were close to me that I thought were my friends or
• 7:42
  family, I can tell you that the worst kind of pain that a person
• 7:46
  can endure is when you're lied about or betrayed by someone
• 7:53
  who's actually related to you or someone that you are actually
• 7:56
  genuinely convinced they're your friend.

  It's different when a stranger does it.
• 8:06
  You're just like, well, this person doesn't know me and
• 8:09
  they're just straight up evil. They're just saying it for
• 8:13
  whatever reason. But whenever someone close does
• 8:16
  that to your family or friend, oh, it's heartbreaking.

  And it'll make it to where you have a hard time in social
• 8:25
  circles because you figure, damn, if my own family member
• 8:29
  would lie or my own best friend would lie, then fuck, who can I
• 8:34
  trust that? I think that's one of the
• 8:37
  reasons why there's a lot of skeptics out there too.
• 8:40
  There's a lot of people who question the concept of God
• 8:44
  because of unfortunately, they may have suffered some of those
• 8:48
  experiences or they were accused of shit or they were looked down
• 8:52
  upon or things like that. Who knows?
• 8:54
  So there could be 100 different reasons that lead a person down
• 8:59
  the road that they're going. But yeah, I've, I've seen
• 9:05
  organizations, companies, I've seen my own government just
• 9:09
  straight up fucking lie, even when they knew that the lie was
• 9:15
  going to end up injuring people, killing people, destroying
• 9:20
  people who believed that what they were doing in honor.
• 9:24
  How many soldiers have we lost because our government and our
• 9:28
  politicians pushed lies over and over?
• 9:32
  So the soldiers, they unfortunately believe that
• 9:35
  they're fighting for something good.
• 9:37
  They believe they're fighting for democracy or freedom.
• 9:41
  And then the next thing they know, they're left out in the
• 9:46
  middle of a foreign land with nothing, no way to protect
• 9:52
  themselves. Imprisoned, beaten, abuse,
• 9:56
  killed mostly. So yeah, I think at this point

  in my life, almost 50 years old, Christmas is coming up and my
• 10:07
  birthday is going to happen, I've come to the conclusion that
• 10:11
  lies are lies are horrible. I don't know.

  I if I had to actually debate what is worse, being stabbed,
• 10:20
  shot or lied about? What's the worst?
• 10:24
  Well, if you get shot you there's a possibility you could
• 10:27
  survive. If you get stabbed, you may be
• 10:30
  left with a scar. But if somebody lies about you
• 10:33
  and they lie, well, this could take so much from you.
• 10:39
  The stab wound and A and a bullet could never even come
• 10:44
  close to a lie. Cuts deep beyond the flesh and
• 10:49
  to the soul. So now I get it.

  Now I understand why God says lying is an abomination.
• 10:57
  Lying is like killing your brother.

  I get it now. Whenever I was a child, I didn't
• 11:04
  I I actually put sins on a scale where I said ah, some shit's
• 11:09
  bad, some shit not so bad. Some things shouldn't have so
• 11:13
  much consequences or punishment to them.
• 11:17
  But to lie is to murder. To lie is to kill.
• 11:23
  And when you lie, it means that you've done it intentionally and
• 11:26
  deliberately, and it's usually for a reason that isn't even
• 11:30
  worth justifying. It's not even good.
• 11:34
  You might as well tell the truth.
• 11:36
  Even when you unfortunately make a mistake, even if you think
• 11:40
  that something's going to cost you, you need to always try to
• 11:45
  stick with the truth. The truth is set you free every
• 11:49
  time. Well, I just figured I'd put out
• 11:57
  that lesson for people. I've learned so much over the
• 12:03
  years and unfortunately, I still think that I have a lot to
• 12:06
  learn. I can't believe I, I think the
• 12:10
  whole worst part of this, the thing that I need to say that's
• 12:14
  most important in this video is the fact that growing up
• 12:19
  throughout my young age into my teenage years, I can't believe
• 12:24
  how many times I condemned God. I actually seen God as the bad
• 12:30
  guy because he wanted to punish evil and sin.
• 12:35
  And I was actually arguing on the other hand, that not
• 12:38
  everything should be considered evil.
• 12:40
  Not everything should be considered wrong.
• 12:44
  Eventually I had grown to be a nihilist for a while there where
• 12:50
  I lost value on everything. I'd just seen that if there's no
• 12:56
  God, then why is there any kind of moral parameters whatsoever?

  Now that I have God in my life and faith, I realize that even
• 13:08
  the smallest of things, even the the things that I took for
• 13:12
  granted are very important and very valuable.
• 13:19
  And I hope that a lot of young people out there, I hope that
• 13:22
  you learn a lot of these things more quicker than I did.
• 13:27
  I hope you don't go through half your life before you figure out
• 13:31
  why a lot of these things are so terrible.
• 13:36
  But I think the worst kind of lie that someone can tell at
• 13:39
  this point is the lies we tell ourselves.

  We need to get out of that. We need to accept ourselves for
• 13:49
  who we are. If we can't love ourselves,
• 13:52
  we're not going to be able to move forward.

  There is no future for any of us if we can't learn to progress in
• 13:59
