Exodus 10
Exodus 10 read aloud, in a fresh direct translation from the Hebrew — plain modern English, nothing added.
Translator's notes:
• Exodus 10:19 — יַם־סוּף (yam suf): chose "Sea of Reeds". Alternatives: Red Sea. Why: suf means reeds, and the traditional rendering names a different body of water.
• Exodus 10:21 — וְיָמֵשׁ חֹשֶׁךְ (veyamesh choshekh): chose "darkness will be felt". Alternatives: darkness will come; darkness may be felt. Why: the verb is rare and its exact sense is uncertain.
