- 5:09Speaker 1: Jason, good morning, what's going on? What's your issue for
- 5:12Speaker 1: ask Alabama.
- 5:13Speaker 7: So me and my my wife's mom have never really
- 5:16Speaker 7: like gotten along. And it's not like anything major. We're
- 5:20Speaker 7: just two very very separate personalities. And maybe it's because,
- 5:23Speaker 7: like you know, I like us to be like our
- 5:25Speaker 7: little family and she's but whenever she gets here, it's
- 5:28Speaker 7: like the house is like under her control and like
- 5:31Speaker 7: she likes things her particular way.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You're dating her baby well, and.
- 5:35Speaker 7: I get that, but like now her mom is wanting
- 5:39Speaker 7: to move close to us instead of being two states away.
- 5:43Speaker 7: And while I do well, while I'm okay with like
- 5:48Speaker 7: you know, I'm looking forward like to support with the
- 5:50Speaker 7: kids and stuff like that, I just I'm nervous.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Have you said anything to your wife about it?
- 5:55Speaker 7: I have, I've talked about it, but you know, she said,
- 5:58Speaker 7: I mean she's like, well, it's my mom, and she
- 6:01Speaker 7: she she keeps found in the point that you know,
- 6:03Speaker 7: we're gonna have more more support with like the kids,
- 6:06Speaker 7: and like you'll be able to work more, and I'll
- 6:08Speaker 7: be able to work more, and like we'll have somebody,
- 6:09Speaker 7: like we'll have a bigger support system here. And I'm like,
- 6:12Speaker 7: I get.
- 6:12Speaker 3: That, but what was the reason why is the mom
- 6:14Speaker 3: moving closer Is it just for the grandkids?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Uh, that's part of it.
- 6:18Speaker 7: She's one to open up a business down here.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Is she married or single? She's oh yeah, so she's
- 6:24Speaker 1: really gonna be there all the time.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah, what what was the first like when you first
- 6:30Speaker 3: married the daughter? Like? What have there been any other
- 6:32Speaker 3: issues besides her just trying to run the house? Like
- 6:36Speaker 3: does she does she try to tell you how to
- 6:38Speaker 3: parent your kids.
- 6:39Speaker 7: When it comes to medicine, yes, cause she's she's very
- 6:44Speaker 7: into like herbs and stuff like that. And so we'll
- 6:46Speaker 7: go get the kids cough medicine and she'll be like, no,
- 6:48Speaker 7: the kids just need elderberry syrup and like she'll get
- 6:51Speaker 7: onto us about that.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Okay, Well, when she planning on moving in about four months,
- 6:59Speaker 1: she's got a game plan or what I mean.
- 7:01Speaker 7: I can't really make a game play.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I just got to play it by here call the show.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Maybe we can get some advice for you.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I think we've probably had other people, especially parents, that
- 7:11Speaker 3: have dealt with people like this. Eight three three five
- 7:14Speaker 3: o one Bama is the number. That's eight three three
- 7:17Speaker 3: five oh one two two sixty.
- 7:19Speaker 2: If you're listening to The Alabama Show on demand.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Jason is panicking because his mother in law is moving
- 7:26Speaker 3: from two states over to be like right next to
- 7:29Speaker 3: him and his wife.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And their kids.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Eight three three five O one Bama is the number
- 7:33Speaker 3: if you have advice for him.

- 7:42Speaker 9: Great? Huntsville?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Awesome? What's going on in Huntsville today?
- 7:46Speaker 5: Well?
- 7:46Speaker 9: I was just going to let your friend know that
- 7:48Speaker 9: called in. I actually moved down the street from my
- 7:52Speaker 9: parents last year, and and I was thinking that it
- 7:56Speaker 9: was going to be like overwhelming and suffocating in all this,
- 8:00Speaker 9: and it's honestly been the best thing.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Oh good. Did they help you out a lot when
- 8:04Speaker 1: he made it?
- 8:05Speaker 9: Now they do, But I honestly don't see them as
- 8:07Speaker 9: much as I thought I would.
- 8:08Speaker 6: They're so busy.
- 8:09Speaker 9: And if she's starting a new job, if his mom's
- 8:12Speaker 9: starting a new job, you know, she could be a
- 8:15Speaker 9: whole lot busier than he.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Thinks she's going to be.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Do you take your laundry to their house for them
- 8:20Speaker 1: to do?
- 8:20Speaker 3: No?
- 8:20Speaker 1: I do not take my lundy. That's great. I love that,
- 8:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 8:25Speaker 6: My mom would totally do it.
- 8:27Speaker 9: But I'm not putting that on her.
- 8:29Speaker 6: She's such a busy woman. I love her to death.
- 8:32Speaker 1: That's awesome, Thank you for calling.
- 8:34Speaker 6: Yeah, Hey, y'all, have a great day.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The US Coast Guard opened a new training center on
- 8:42Speaker 3: the former Birmingham Southern Campus, So this happened over the weekend.
- 8:46Speaker 3: They did a whole ribbon cutting. The new training center
- 8:48Speaker 3: is going to serve as the Coast Guard's premier location
- 8:51Speaker 3: for enlisted leadership development and professional education. So I'm excited
- 8:56Speaker 3: to see what they do at the campus since it
- 8:58Speaker 3: has been sold. Taylor Swift dropped her Toy Story five
- 9:02Speaker 3: song I Knew It, I Knew You on Friday. It's
- 9:04Speaker 3: already broken so many streaming records. Hours after the song dropped,
- 9:09Speaker 3: she had broken some release day records. It became the
- 9:11Speaker 3: biggest country single of twenty twenty six and broke the
- 9:14Speaker 3: all time record for the first biggest soundtrack single based on.
- 9:17Speaker 1: First day plays.
- 9:19Speaker 3: It was also the most streamed country song in a
- 9:21Speaker 3: single day by a female artist.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Which is huge. So good for you, Taylor Swift.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Starbucks is bringing back a viral menu item, even after
- 9:32Speaker 3: since twenty seventeen, and when they dropped it in twenty seventeen,
- 9:35Speaker 3: baristas revolted against.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It because they hated making.
- 9:38Speaker 3: It so much.
- 9:39Speaker 1: What it was so bad about it?
- 9:41Speaker 3: It's the Unicorn Frappuccino, which is a blended beverage. It's
- 9:45Speaker 3: going to be coming back for one weekend only later
- 9:48Speaker 3: this summer.
- 9:49Speaker 1: We don't know the date yet.
- 9:51Speaker 3: The drink is described as a sweet dusting of pink
- 9:54Speaker 3: powder blended into a cream frappucino with mango syrup and
- 9:58Speaker 3: layered with.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Sour blue drizzled and vanilla cream on top with sweet
- 10:01Speaker 1: pink and sour blue powder on top.
- 10:03Speaker 3: In twenty seventeen, it dropped for five days in April
- 10:06Speaker 3: and Boris's we're going crazy on the internet saying my
- 10:08Speaker 3: hands are pink and sticky for making this. If you
- 10:12Speaker 3: like your Starbucks barisas, please don't order the Unicorn frappuccino.
- 10:17Speaker 1: That sounds like a mess and a mouthful.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I know it's gonna be good, So it's coming back
- 10:22Speaker 3: as soon as we know the weekend.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We will let you know.
- 10:24Speaker 3: And that's three things you need to know. More at
- 10:27Speaker 3: the Alabama Show dot com.
- 10:30Speaker 2: We're listening to the Alabama Show on demand eight three.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Three five one, Bama is the number to call the show.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Nicole, Good morning. Where are you calling from.
- 10:37Speaker 6: I'm calling from Birmingham. Just dropped my son off from food.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Oh good for you. What are you going to do
- 10:41Speaker 1: the rest of the day.
- 10:43Speaker 6: Well, I actually have some free time to day, so
- 10:45Speaker 6: I said from a clean.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Up Yeah, girl, do you have good news?
- 10:52Speaker 6: I do have some good news.
- 10:54Speaker 8: Over the last few months, I've been waiting for a
- 10:57Speaker 8: particular position to open up far as a few licenses
- 11:02Speaker 8: and certifications, and I finally completed all my licenses and
- 11:06Speaker 8: certifications and I was really really excited.
- 11:09Speaker 6: And I got to the point where it.
- 11:10Speaker 8: Was trying to interview for the position, and they switched
- 11:14Speaker 8: the position.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Roll on me at the last minute. And I was
- 11:16Speaker 6: like devastated, because, let me tell you, I had my
- 11:18Speaker 6: heart set on it. But I was like, you know what,
- 11:21Speaker 6: I'm still going to go through the interview because I
- 11:23Speaker 6: didn't want them to say, well, she kind of selected out.
- 11:25Speaker 6: I'm not sure she actually really wanted it, even though
- 11:26Speaker 6: it was the wrong position. I did that interview and
- 11:30Speaker 6: in the middle of the interview, he said, you know what,
- 11:32Speaker 6: I know they have you for this position, but we
- 11:34Speaker 6: actually think that based on your skill set, you would
- 11:37Speaker 6: be a better fit for the other position, which was
- 11:39Speaker 6: the original position that I wanted. They said, you know,
- 11:42Speaker 6: had a close and wasn't available. So girl, I was
- 11:45Speaker 6: so excited I got the position.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yes, can you tell me what the position was or no?
- 11:55Speaker 6: I can't go into too too much detail, but I
- 11:57Speaker 6: will say it does involve a lot more closer engagement
- 12:02Speaker 6: with customers who are elderly who would need additional assistance.
- 12:05Speaker 6: I think you usually would get on the backhand. So
- 12:07Speaker 6: I can't really go into the because of the type
- 12:10Speaker 6: of job that it is, but it really does have
- 12:12Speaker 6: an opportunity for me to make a difference where otherwise
- 12:14Speaker 6: I wouldn't been able to.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Look at you being so professional too. I love this
- 12:18Speaker 1: for you. That is awesome. Congratulation girl. Do you like sushi?
- 12:25Speaker 3: You want a gift card to Rock and Roll Sushi
- 12:26Speaker 3: because they love to help people celebrate, and I think
- 12:29Speaker 3: this deserves a gift card.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Oh, thank you so much.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I love so.
- 12:33Speaker 6: I'm just gonna be happy to hear that.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Thank you.

- 13:02Speaker 1: I didn't want to. I couldn't. I was too tired.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I wanted to go so bad.
- 13:06Speaker 3: So I sent videos to producer Blake of things that
- 13:09Speaker 3: were happening that we can't talk about on the radio.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't think we'd get in some trouble for
- 13:15Speaker 1: that one. But you showed that video to somebody. What
- 13:17Speaker 1: did they say?
- 13:18Speaker 3: They said, Oh, that's scary.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Was I sent it? It was a man dancing on stage.
- 13:29Speaker 1: That's all I'll say.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, don't say more please, And a bike rally like
- 13:33Speaker 3: a motorcycle rally like thank bikers thank older men.
- 13:37Speaker 1: With beards and gray hair and the women they're with.
- 13:43Speaker 1: So I sent my little cousin Hannah that video. Hannah.
- 13:47Speaker 3: If you Hannah is the voice of that was her
- 13:52Speaker 3: when she's younger. She's in her twenties now, late twenties.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I said, Hannah show this to me mom. Well apparently,
- 13:59Speaker 3: uh she opened it while her one and a half
- 14:03Speaker 3: year old was sitting next to her, and.
- 14:05Speaker 1: She goes, my kids just watched that with me, so
- 14:08Speaker 1: thanks for that. I was like, hello, sorry, don't.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Don't ever open a text from Alabama or there anybody
- 14:17Speaker 5: that you love or care about.
- 14:18Speaker 1: That's a bad idea. Why would you do that? Do
- 14:21Speaker 1: I need to talk to her and say stop doing that.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'll laugh so hard she did show it to me mom.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Me mam said, hubba hubba me ma, call the show.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Have you ever sent a text or.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Opened a text or opened your phone in front of
- 14:34Speaker 3: people and something was there that the people around you
- 14:37Speaker 3: should never have seen.
